I never knew about this park before until I stumbled upon it riding my bike along the empire state trail towards Niskyuana. There is a paved path up a hill to get a 360° view of the park with a spectacular view of the water and distant mountains. There are also baseball fields and other recreational activities at the park. If you are riding your bike down the hike, just be prepared for the way back which is really steep for most people.
Its an awesome trail with very nice views. Beside this there is tennis, volleyball and ice hockey courts. Trail is very long and and can be used for cycling and jogging. As we walk inside the trail there there is water on the side. It freezes in the winter. I have heard people even walk on it or drive scooters.
I mainly use the park to enter the bike path. The people running the baseball fields dont always properly secure their garbage and no one seems to think its their responsibility to clean it up.. it ends up in the side of the bike path. In addition no one follows the rules about no parking on the access road, and this becomes a danger to pedestrians and cyclists during baseball games.Update: someone cleaned up the garbage the side of the path the other day! Lets hope it was the town or the baseball field workers...and that they continue to keep it clean. I will update this again later. Bumping up a star!Update 7/4/2018: Well its back to being a pig sty on the side of the bike path entrance. Down a star again.
Blatnick park is not just a nice ballpark with a good snackstand and other amenities, it is also an access point to the rail trail with one of the best view over the mohawk river. It definitively is one of the highlight of the mohawk hudson marathon and a good place for a stroll or to start a bike ride!
Talking only of the disc golf courseFirst the positives. Very wide open holes, well maintained and a nice view from the 7th pro tee.The negatives, wide open holes mean no cover from wind or the sun making hot or windy days almost impossible to play, the 6th hole while interesting plays over a very steep ridge thats downright dangerous and finally the course is built on top of the niscayuna town dump. Gross water sometimes run down the main hill and the view from that 7th pro tee is right next to a methane exhaust pipe

2016-08-19This is a great park. It has a playground, nice tennis courts, a dog park, several ball fields, a hockey rink, and a volleyball court. It also has easy access to a great paved running /biking trail. A nice place to stop if you want to spend some time outdoors.

2022-01-15We live nearby and walk our dog here. In the summer we also use the splash pad. Our toddler is too small for most of the playground equipment right now but he likes to see the bigger kids play baseball. There are 2 seasonally open restrooms which is great if youre heading to the pavillion for a picnic. There are 5 pokemon go gyms here and many pokestops for fans of the game.

2018-06-01Passed through this park while riding the Eire Canal Trail, hit a minor snag in this section as there are 2 trails, and the signage at the bottom of the his does not specify which way bike traffic should go. As it turns out both routes are valid, but it appears that the lower trail has been abandoned and is just being left to crumble. The new hill path is nice and you can see Lock 7 in the distance.

2021-11-19A nice park that has regular large dump trucks and other large vehicles moving through it. The dog park has a nice fenced in area for dogs that are afraid to jump 4 feet, but is too close to the utility road. We witnessed several different dogs be frightened of the loud trucks passing by the dog park area.

2021-08-08The town is supposed to maintain the grounds, but the disc golf course is literally unplayable, and has been all summer. The grass is about 4 feet tall. Its too bad, because I used to enjoy this place when it was regularly maintained.

2017-12-25I took the trail along Mohawk River. The river is beautiful, as are the grass fields.

2021-03-16This is a lovely park, with tons of open space, a frisbee course (disc golf), two small playgrounds, a pavilion for grilling and parties, an amazing little league field, and easy access to the Mohawk River bike trail.Located next to Knolls Atomic, this is a fantastic place to access the bike path, or just to bird watch from the hills overlooking the river. In the winter there are no water or indoor facilities; in the summer there are portapotties.

2021-08-07Love the splash pads!! They have an interactive biba playground I believe its called. There is an app that goes with it. I was not impressed that there were no swings. And not too much for an 18mo old to do. He loved that splash pad so I rated it a 4.
