I just want to say..WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY! I went last night. My ticket was for 8pm, but mind you I got there around 8:15 because I had to look for parking extra like 70 bucks because parking sucks in NY. Next the line was around the block. You would think WOW this must be really good since there’s so many people, but no. I waited in the line for 4 hours. They sold so many tickets on their website, but didn’t know how to manage such a crowd and people just come in whatever time they want to come. SO DONT EVEN WASTE YOUR TIME buying a time slot. There’s literally like 100 people per time slot. It’s 35 dollars for like an 5-8 min walk. No matter how much you walk slow, it’s not worth it. Having people wait that long just to get into an 8 mins haunted house ( you guys need to work on lowering the prices and making it actually scary). Don’t bother going on a weekend, but if you do want to go see it just be on the line around 6pm because by that time there’s already people waiting to go into the haunted house by 7pm. I hope my review helps other people not to buy from this place again.
How is this place even open and why hasn’t the city shut them down yet. They’re not checking vax cards at all. 5 of us went in and no one asked for a vaccine card. The video on the website must be from another haunted asylum because the inside looks nothing like that. There’s maybe 7 actors in the entire attraction and the whole walkthrough took 3.5 minutes. Please don’t waste your time or money on this.
These people should really be ashamed to call themselves a Haunted House. It was a waste of time and money. They clearly had no idea what they were doing. The line to get in was very unorganized and it shouldnt have taken 4 hours to get in, when it was a 3 min walk through. The actors put no effort into there job. #jekyll&hydeshutdown
Awful Experience. Waited 2+ hours in line and it was a 5 minute haunted house. Wasn’t even all that scary. Absolutely ridiculous. Way too expensive for this level of incompetence. It’s a joke that it’s allowed to be called a haunted house I was practically laughing through the whole thing which lasted no longer than 5 minutes.
Save ur money!!! Went last year and waited over 2 hours. They don’t go by reservation time but whenever you get in line. The whole walk through was literally 5 minutes and at the end you walk out to the dumpsters and that’s it. Definitely not worth the money or the wait. Absolute scam.
It was alright, I went with my friends for the Valentine’s Day Asylum, and I literally was only in there for 5 minutes as we timed it. As a horror fanatic, I wasn’t impressed. Not worth the 29.75. Staff outside was very rude, unorganized and just didn’t seem “happy to be there”. 5/10. Don’t waste your money people, even the time slots aren’t legit. Then to the people that wait to buy their tickets, they get rudely spoken to by staff and in a way pressured to buy them, as he would constantly come back with an attitude “You bought your tickets?” I would definitely recommend finding another place to visit, you can go to the Museum of Sex for the same price!
Horrible experience. We had tickets for 6 pm, and weve been waiting in line for over 2 hours. Management is very unhelpful and rude, and are not trying to regulate the lines in any way. If you have a regular ticket, youll be stranded outside with no clear timeline for entry. This place is literal robbery.
This is the worst experience ever! You buy a ticket for a time slot, wait in line for 3 hours after your time slot and they wont even give you a refund. They over book and follow no covid guidelines which is technically illegal these days. Stay away and do not purchase tickets for this!
This was my first time attending the asylum, and it was a BAD EXPERIENCE. I bought a ticket for 9pm, got in line around 8.20...8.30....and didnt get inside till after 12AM midnight. Waited FOUR HOURS in line, and it was freezing outside. The line was RIDICULOUSLY LONG.They should have capped/limited the tickets instead of over selling to make money, having people wait in line for 4 hours. People were waiting longer before my group for their 8.30 slot, they we extremely backed up.....UNPROFESSIONAL, AND UNORGANIZED.The joke is, they supposedly had a fast line which people paid more for, and they still waited in line just as long as the general line....smh. DAMN!
I was here for over 4 hours with my husband & kids!!!! ended up waiting on line and even upgraded for the speed pass ...we spent about $300 in total!!! Meanwhile your business is being shut down for covid, capacity and liquor license violations! No management assisted their employees in addressing the large crowd! Or in even notifying the paying customers of the closure after being aware of it for an hour! It was extremely unprofessional!Management nor the owner addressed the customers at all! The security guard kept up selling the ticket upgrade as if he was unaware of the capacity issues. if he wasnt aware of your company overbooking this event then you guys put him in a messed up position !The cops notified us of the closure. management did not in providing any form of communication to us and your website shows no refunds! I do not want to be accomodated for a different date! The line maintenance was unorganized no one social distancing in place. I emailed this complaint and it came back as undeliverable using the email provided. I want a refund ASAP
The worst experience. We signed up for a 10 pm slot on 10/30. We thought maybe we’d wait 30 minutes but nothing more because why else have scheduled times, especially if you aren’t going to put a warning on the website about excessive wait times or about the importance of arriving way before your ticket time. After over an hour of waiting on line and still not being close to seeing the front of the line. I went to talk to the bouncer with my friend because we had trains to catch because, as we know, trains stop running in NYC at a certain time. I explained this to the bouncer who said there was nothing he could do. I asked to speak to the manager. He comes back out without the manager. I start talking to the people around me with the same complaints. This one woman was disallowed from entering to use the bathroom...a basic human function and she was refused entry. Eventually the manager comes out but not to talk to me but to talk to a cop who showed up. Once the manager is free, i first make sure this woman gets to use the bathroom. Then I ask what is going on; I tell him how unacceptable this is and he tells me it was the owners directive to sell this extreme amount of tickets against his warning that not everyone would get in. There was no way they could get to everyone because only a certain amount of people could be let in at a time because of the pandemic. In different years much larger groups can go in at quicker intervals. The owner knew this yet still sold the exact same amount of tickets as in other years because he knew he could rely on this “no refund” policy. The next thing you know, five more cops show up. It’s chaotic now, everyone’s moved toward the door to figure out what’s going on. I ask the cop what the likelihood is we would get in and he said very unlikely. I talk to another cop and he tells me the establishment did not have a license for a haunted house. Regardless, the cops shut the place down because their were too many people waiting in line not socially distanced, some not wearing masks. After begging for 20 minutes to use the bathroom myself, I finally get to and on leaving I ask the manager how I can get a refund, he tells me to contact the email on the website. I am currently on my third day of emailing with this person on the other side of the email, who has refused to give me a refund even though we didn’t get the service we were promised and paid for. The website may say “no refunds” but these were special circumstances. It’s not like my friends and me didn’t show up or came out of the experience, didn’t like it, so demanded a refund. No we showed up, waited, spent money to actually travel to nyc to attend this experience and now are being refused our money back. We were offered the ability to come back but that would mean spending more money to come to nyc and why would we want to return after such a despicable treatment. This place is a disgrace and has taken advantage of its customers during a pandemic. We are three recently college graduated students. We do not have money, we are drowning in debt and they want to keep what little we have. I demand a refund and an apology.
Went with my Wife it was extremely scary.😳 She was holding me soooooooo tight I couldnt breathe lol.We really enjoyed ourselves and plan on going back really soon. If you have never been please go. I wish I could have took pictures because the look of fear on my wifes face was priceless.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!! ITS LITERALLY 15 MINUTES WALKING AROUND IN THE DARK AND BUMPING INTO WALLS!! NONE OF IT WAS SCARY AND MOST OF THE ROOMS DIDNT EVEN HAVE REAL PEOPLE JUST PLASTIC ANIMATIONS YOU WOULD PUT IN FRONT OF YOUR HOUSE. A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY CONSIDERING I PAID OVER 100$ AND IT WAS OVER IN LIKE 15 MINUTES!! I WAS SO EXTREMELY DISSAPOINTED IF YOURE GOING TO CHARGE SO MUCH YOU NEED TO INVEST INTO REAL ACTORS SCARRING PEOPLE NOT PROPS!!

2021-10-24One of the worst NYC experiences you could have. Waited over 3 hours in line for a 5 minute experience. The line literally wrapped around the building with no management whatsoever. Bought an 8pm time slot and didn’t enter the experience until 10:50. There were people on line with tickets for later times ahead of us. The venue scanned all tickets when you were still 2 hours from the door ensuring you would be unable to be refunded. The experience itself was terrible…. A bunch of animatronics and maybe 2 actors throughout the “haunted asylum”. Please stay away and don’t waste your money. The 5 star reviews must be fake because even if the waiting experience was better there is no way anyone could give this more than two stars. Save your money and patience for something more worth while.

2021-12-30Very short, wish it was longer. I enjoyed the jello shot in the syringe. The actors tried but I’ve been to a scarier house before

2022-02-26DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY HERE. MANAGEMENT IS OPERATING A SHODDY BUSINESS.I booked two adults and two children for standard seating yesterday. The standard was supposed to have certain menu options available which we were told were NOT available when we attempted to order. The premium menu also did not offer comparable options which would have had most in our party unable to eat. We asked for a refund of the on-site manager who said he doesnt have the power to offer refunds and to contact the website which I did. A Mr. Donald Finley, who I assume must be the owner, responded flat out called me a liar when I explained our situation and asked for a refund. Considering how many conversations we had with both the on site manager and server on the issue...who specifically said there was an issue with their pizza oven, its pretty bold to say Im lying with such specific people from those working. We walked out shortly after and considering there were leaks on the premises, the smell of mold and water running along the floor towards the dining room...the place doesnt look that sanitary so we probably dodged a bullet not eating here. Apparently other reviewers saw mice!! In NYC we need cool spots like what this COULD have been. Too bad its clear management has no actual desire to make this place clean and successful.

2021-10-29The Asylum was great and I wish it was longer. I felt like the actors did a great job, this one girl even chased me into the other room! ha! The only thing I had a problem with is how its organized entering the asylum, me and my boyfriend were definitely scammed into buying the immediate access tickets and paying more for no real perks. The immediate access tickets DID NOT give us immediate access. When we arrived on time for our 8:30 slot we STILL had to get in line, which they told us was for the Immediate Access ticket holders. The line next to us was for regular tickets. The woman at the door was basically letting a group from each line one at a time. She even told the other guy working there in front of us and he told her she cant be letting the regular ticket holders in front of the immediate access ticket holders but she said she didnt care, it was all for the right scare she said and the Right experience for everyone. So they were letting people in the regular ticket line inside that even just got there while all of us immediate access people had to watch. We all wasted an extra $20 for what?? Me and my boyfriend luckily were at the top of the line but I felt bad for all the immediate access people behind us. They SHOULD be letting only the immediate access people in first for their time slot and and then the regular ticket holders afterwards. Just buy the regular tickets. Its definitely a scam. Wish I could get my $40 I paid extra back for both tickets I paid for.

2021-11-01DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.i bought 4 tickets for “immediate access” and i had to wait over an hour to get in, the time of your reservation does not matter. The regular ticket had more than 300 people waiting in line to get in. The hunted house experience is a joke, small room and just computer noises and less than 5 MINUTES.So you’ll make a line to get in and all you get is a dark room with computer noises.Again, do not waste your money and time.WORST HALLOWEEN EXPERIENCE.

2021-11-01I bought tickets for my friend and I for a 7:00 pm slot and did not go in until 10:30 pm. We waited over three hours in line, since they don’t give refunds. Asked the guy in the front why we were not being let in it we have a reservation and he said “time doesn’t matter”. If that’s the case, why even let us choose a time. The actual haunted house was so short, but the actors did a good job. But, overall huge pass.

2021-10-31Its a joke. You buy a ticket for a specified time at three price tiers, but when you arrive it makes no difference what time your ticket was for. You line up in one of three lines for the ticket tier you bought. The longest being the lowest price tier that wraps around the block and doesnt move. While standing in that giant line you can see all the customers who exit. Their reviews being its super short, and lasted 5 minutes. Spoke with others who said they had been waiting 2 hours already and werent even close to the entrance. Another who said they waited an hour despite paying for the higher tier ticket which allows you to skip the line. I waited 45 minutes and maybe moved 5% of the length of the line before leaving. The scariest thing about this is how many people are being scammed year after year. Save your money and just talk to people waiting in line in the cold rain, their stories will frighten you more.

2021-10-23This was my first time there tonight and omg. It was great. Im still shaking from how scary it was. The haunted asylum was fun, affordable, and totally creepy. The wait time to get in was reasonable and the staff was amazing. There were plenty of live actors, plenty of tools and props to scare you. Trust me, you wont regret going to the asylum.

2021-11-11Would rate it zero stars if i could, wait alone was 3 hours long for less then a 5 minute walk through where it was so dark i spent more time running into walls then seeing actors. The food at the restaurant sucked. Also while needing to use a bathroom. The employees had no interest in directing me, only saying the second door on the left failing to mention the Bookshelf was fake and that was the door. Speaking of the bathroom, horrible cleanliness. Trash was everywhere, flies and moths circling me, doors were broken. Simply just disgusting, unsanitary, and unsafe.

2021-12-08Easily my favorite place to go to in nyc! ive never bought an immediate access ticket and have never had to wait in line! the scares are good, and they manage to use animatronics to their advantage! highly recommend :)
