Besides the dogs barking, it was beautiful. A great place for peace and relaxation.

Quiet place to walk around the lake. Larger lake allows use of kayaks, etc. Site includes chemical toilets. Not a large area if crowded.

Could be a nice place to fish if they would do something about the weeds. Hard to use a canoe or kayak because of the weeds. You could almost walk across the weeds. A little TLC and it would be a really nice place.

Jennings Pond aka Upper Buttermilk State Park is NOT the Buttermilk SP you are looking for. The famous one with the falls and the campground is off Rt 13 near Home Depot and Kohls.Jennings Pond is a small, man-made lake whose claim to fame is that it has two outlets feeding into to different watersheds. Its a good spot for fishing and wildlife with snakes, turtles, beavers and birds. There is a seasonal swimming area with life guards but, unfortunately, also a ton of seaweed. There are picnic tables and the standard issue NYSP charcoal grills. A marked loop trail through Danby State Forest land starts from the East side of the dam. The trail is pretty with minimal elevation changes but the path is not improved so its not suitable for strollers. It can also get very muddy.Overall, its a pleasant and usually quiet spot to spend and hour or two outdoors.

We want ou yes a nice quiet day at Jennings Pond. Its a very wide pond with a small area to have a picnic. Theres an area to swim so we are excited to try that out sometime when a life guard is present. How deep is the pond? We wondered. When are life guards on duty?We look forward to spending another day here soon.Peaceful and quiet natural area with frogs, ducks, fish and turtles in view.

Small park with lots of Canadian Geese (watch where you step). Not a huge set of trails, but nice for a quick hike and you can grab the FLT too. Little muddy too around the pond.
