Jeremiahs Tavern in other cities:
We were spending the weekend in Rochester and I figured that because we are close to Buffalo, this would be a good place to get wings. We heard that Jeremiahs tavern had the best wings in town. I would have to agree with that. I love Buffalo wings and have had them in many different restaurants throughout the northeast. These wings were at least as good as anything Ive had and probably the best. The sauce was fantastic and the wings were done just right, nice and crisp. The atmosphere was great, very old-time taverny. Ive never been to Buffalo, but if youre in Rochester this is the place to go for great wings.
We got takeout on a Wednesday night. The food we got was good, but it was honestly not worth the money at all. I paid $15 for a cubano that was smaller than my (average-size) hand and came without pickles (a kind of gripe I would not usually make, but for $15...a cubano should have pickles). My boyfriend paid $15 for the schnitzel sandwich that was about the same size. Fortunately, the pineapple teriyaki wings we got were delicious, but weren’t enough to make up for the sandwiches.Ultimately we won’t be coming back here, at least not on our own dime. Food was tasty but not worth it.
I used to love this place because it had consistent food right around the corner from me, but my god have the just gotten worse and worse this past year. Used to be my go to wing spot until 3 out of my last 4 orders were disgraceful (one order had mutated wings where you could see more bone than chicken, how do you serve that). I understand theres a wing shortage but it is robbery to serve the smallest wings in Rochester for the highest price in Rochester. $18.50 for 10 tiny baby wings is a joke. At least put enough sauce on them, or remember to give me my side half the time. Went from favorite to bust in 6 months. So sad man.
Jeremiahs Fish Fry. Disappointing. There is not much to say really. We had fish fries for dinner tonight, 4 of us got dinners from 4 different places and this one came in last. The meal was pretty lifeless. I dont think they are trying to blow anyone away with their fish fry dinner but for $15.54 this is disappointingly small and the small size was by no means due to the quality of the fish. 4.4 out of 10
Went here first time ever with some friends who said it was great....far from it..Been up all night with food poisoning, pretty sure the hamburgers where boiled, and the sauce was from sloppy joe in a can, everything on my plate looked and tasted like food from the dollar store tree freezer, im not blaming the cook, if there is one, or waitress, they just trying to do the best they can with what they have, but this was the worst food I ever ate for over $20 just a very small portion of the worst plate I have ever had, absolutely terrible and the drinks where flat, my friends food was just as terrible so they told me, non of us finished, The sandwich my friend got looked absolutely nothing like what he ordered or even its ingredients... hopefully the follow up with the health dept complaint ive made will help straighten things out, would love to know how many other folks got sick here...
I have probably wrote two reviews in my life. This last order was so awful I couldnt help myself. My wife and I wanted wings and two side salads and were debating Jeremiahs or Perris. Both close to our house. We went with Jeremiahs and usually its amazing. Love the catatonic wings, the service , everything. We called and specifically ordered 10 medium buffalo wings, two blue cheese, crispy and saucy, and two side salads with crumbly blue and Italian dressing. Everything was awful. Wings were mushy and not cooked, one blue cheese, and salads were even worse. Its not a tough order for 30 bucks. I went in, had a drink, a shot, tipped hostess and bartender. Both were very nice and gave great service. Whoever is cooking needs to step it up or they are going to lose a lot of business. They did offer to replace wings but we just ordered some from Perris and decided we didnt want to even bother. Hope next time is different.
Food has always been good, and mostly consistent! Have to say though they have some of the best customer service I have ever experienced! My girlfriend placed a grubhub order for pretzels and beer cheese, she was having hard pregnancy craving for the beer cheese. Jeremiahs delivered! She was so excited and elated by the sheer amount of cheese. Called them to thank them and they were so polite and excited about it. Great part of the community, great food, great staff, 10/10.
Some days/times are better than others. I have had great service when dinning in the bar sections. Bartender and waitstaff were friendly and great service. I have sat in the dinning room and mostly great service. I have ordered for delivery and it goes downhill. I ordered warm apple crisp. it was cold and nothing like apple crisp. Seasoned panko on top, does not make sliced apples, apple crisp.
I really had high hopes for this place. Honest. But I have not had service this bad at a restaurant for as long as I can remember. It was a pretty slow Tuesday night and we were sat at a table by our host (who was wonderful, to be fair) and waited 25 minutes to be greeted by the waitress (who was sitting chatting with other customers) until we found our host and informed him she hadn’t helped us. Apparently she was never ‘told’ she had another table... it was literally a square room with no more than 5 other groups sitting down. Why does she need to be informed when this is clearly her designated area? We finally had our order taken by her and waited another 40 minutes for appetizers that never came before we just decided to leave. During that waiting period our waitress could be seen chatting with customers about her favorite types of chasers for doing shots and other times just sitting at a table in a corner doing nothing. Overall an hour spent in this restaurant and all I received in that time was a glass of lemonade and one visit from our waitress to take our order once she finally decided to acknowledge us. I really wanted to like this place.
I went to Jeremiahs with a friend and my puppy for lunch. I stayed outside while my friend went inside to order food and drinks. The waitress told him we are not allowed to eat there because we had a puppy OUTSIDE!!! Cant tell you how the food is but can tell you this place hates cute furry animals
Jeremiahs always has good food, and is great for the price. The only issue is the service. My only issue is the service. The last 2 times, we have had the same waiter who is honestly not good. The first time, my friend asked for an additional water and the waiter said “ohh the fish wants another water?” Not really that funny and just strange. The second time we had him, he was extremely slow, not bringing drinks out until after the food had arrived. I plan on returning because the food is consistently very good and I’ve had other good experiences there, but the waitstaff just needs some work.
I have visited this place on numerous occasions because it is the very closest place I can go for a drink. So, occasionally I go with someone that insists on getting the food there, which is fine. However, without exception, the food is consistently bland. Every dish I have ever ordered tastes like sadness. Its not a repulsive taste by any means. Its just boring and bland, with exception to a handful of their wing sauces. It reminds me of the line from City Slickers when the cook explains what theyll eat on the cattle drive:You aint gonna get any nouveau, amandine, thin crust, bottled water, sauteed city food. Foods brown, hot, and plenty of it.I guess if you have enough of their very inexpensive, but plentiful selection of alcohol, it wont matter that the brown food tastes brown.
Ordered burgers and wings online and it was delicious!! Best wings I’ve had in a while — big, and lots of sauce! The Nawlins Blues wings were soooo delicious! Delivery was fast and the food was still piping hot! Can’t wait to come visit in person once I am fully vaccinated!
I want to first say that Jeremiah’s is one of my favorite restaurants to go to, particularly the Monroe Avenue location (Jefferson Road location is super unreliable and I always have issues with the food there). So I will give them two stars, but based on my experience last night, they deserve one star. I was a party of two and we sat in the dining area where there were four other tables besides us, and one server waiting on the room. I’ve served tables for years, so I know that’s not that much to juggle and it wasn’t busy. That being said, my brother and I waited 20 minutes before I went up front to tell the host the server had not come by yet. She told us she “wasn’t informed” she had a new table.... it’s one room. How did you not see us? At that point we put our whole order in, which was one app and two entrees. We waited about another 20 minutes with no food. We originally arrived around 7:25 that night and after it hit 8:25 and we had no food still (and we watched our server sit down with guests at another table) we left. I’ve never walked out on a dinner like that. I have never received service like that. Never written a review for a restaurant before. I will be back but I will make sure I’m not sat with that server again. If that was my first experience at Jeremiah’s I would never come back there. The food is good but they really need to get it together.Would love to add a photo but it would just be of a cup of water.
Ordered the Fish fry and it was strips that were burnt to a crisp. We also ordered the Monte Cristo and it was dry and very underwelming (Got charged for it even though I only had 2 bites). Replaced the fish with boneless chicken, it was ok. Bathrooms were filthy. Never going back!!
Everyone knows they have the best wings, or did ... its been a few years since I lived in Rochester, was there for a few years at RIT. I spent a lot of time here and even brought people out for wings and beer when they came to visit. Bee Sting is the best sauce but its a hot seller so it goes without saying.
Came here based on other reviews. Must have been an off night because service was pretty inattentive. Our server was very nice, whenever they came around.Appetizers were decent. Food was just OK. Tried the smoked wings and was underwhelmed - they were very dry, almost jerky-like, and the requested sauce was practically nonexistent, so they lacked much flavor. Should have ordered the traditional instead. That said, I’d probably give it another chance.
Jeremiahs is by far one of my favorite places to go. Its a chill and relaxed environment yet still has a fun vibe to it. They have so many beers and ciders to choose from (if you enjoy that) and the food is also incredible. Ive never had something I didnt like there! Also if you go you NEED to try the wings, they are voted best wings in Rochester every year and its absolutely true! These are the best wings Ive ever had by far! (Make sure you ask for the bee sting sauce which is their signature sauce). You cant go wrong!
The food was fantastic. The server was very friendly and cheerful. Love the French onion soup and also the brie/grilled pear sandwich.***update...we went back last night and took a friend. We were able to get our same server JJ (I requested him). The food was even better and the service was excellent. I live about an hour away and We will make a point to go back. They do have coke products which my husband doesnt like, but thats okay. The food and service make up for it.
What can I say? I love the wings. Hot Buffalo wings cant be beat. Order them extra crispy. I finally got around to trying bee sting, and it is also very good. The rest of their food is fine, average to slightly above. But all I care about is the wings, which are amazing.
Stopped here to visit with a co-worker. They had lots of different beers on tap and a full bar. We got wings which were really good and the place had a neighborhood feel to it. Was nicely decorated and they had three rooms of seating. Would definitely stop there again :)
The wings are very average, at best. I would say that half the time theyre not well fried. The sauces are pretty good, though Ive had a few that are somewhat thin (probably due to the frying). When it is busy, the food is under cooked (wings are not crispy, flat bread pizza is underbaked, etc.). Prices are...fine. Ive typically chosen to go elsewhere unless friends are already there.
Wings are awesome!! Must try the Nawlins Blues sauce! Service was okay, just really slow. Mac salad and cornbread were both bland and overcooked. Server switched out onion rings for me and they were great! French onion soup was pretty good, too. Will definitely be back for more wings!!
Food was decent. Had the veggie burger and onion rings. Had to wait for a table when we got there, the host was everywhere but at the desk. Our waitress was good, she appeared to be the only one working. The down sides, its extremely loud and extremely filthy. Id be willing to try another location.
What the hell happened to this place?? In the past Ive given it a 5 star rating & thought they had the best wings in Rochester. But I went there recently and the wings were only fair... not very warm & not very meaty... most were scrawny wings with only 2 drumsticks in the entire order for 3 people! On top of that, we rarely saw our waitress, even though we needed things throughout our meal. She couldnt have cared less about us until the magic tip time came.I guess I shouldve known things had really gone downhill there when I called on a Friday evening & was told that I didnt need a reservation. Sure enough, when we got there we were greeted by tons of empty tables at 8pm! In retrospect, we shouldve just turned around & left at that point.I guarantee I wont be going back there again. What a shame, it used to be a great place for draft beers, wings, fish frys & pub food.
Drinks, drinks, and more excellent drinks!! This is a great spot to hang out in. It can get loud, but thats expected since its a sports bar. The pow pow shrimp was spicy and delicious. My husbands garlic wings were just OK. The garlic sauce over them was watery/runny. The loaded steak fries were also a bit over done. Maybe it was an off night for the cook, because the food is usually very good. Nevertheless, our waitress was great and I will be back again!
I’ve ordered from Jeremiah’s on Monroe Ave a few times now during the takeout only times that we find ourselves in. Every time the experience has been great. Recently, I placed an order for pick up through GrubHub. While there was a slight mishap with the order being received, they handled it great. On a Friday night during dinner time there were orders left & right and they were incredibly busy but the staff was super friendly and accommodating.
Great spot for food and sports. Amazing wings, and the wing dip is also out of this world. All the food we got was solid (big party, got lots of food and shared), so its safe to say the kitchen knows what they are doing. Menu is huge, and I cant wait to go back and try some more. Tons of TVs, all the good sports networks. Only downside for me is no pool table, but even with that they deserve 5 stars all day. 10/10
For me its a quick walk there, and a nice staple. Its a sports bar, so its what youd want out of a sports bar. Wings are always good, and everyone knows that, since theyve been voted best wings in Rochester for like a billion years. All the other food Ive had has been good also. The brie burger was sloppy, tasty and different. Service has always been really good. It can get a little crowed though, especially during football. Oh one other thing that i didnt expect, their bloody Marys are quite delicious. Ive had bloodys every place I go, and theirs is well above the average sports bar, and actually above a lot of other places who actually advertise bloody Marys.
Generally good but always noisy, very hard to hold a conversation. Food good and consistent. Our party of 6 had numerous problems with wrong orders or having to ask for items several times. Good sports bar but not the right place for quiet contemplation and reading a book.
Awesome bartender, as well as staff. Great personality that always makes you feel welcome whether its your first time, or you are a seasoned patron at the establishment. Food is awesome, especially the garbage plate style item menu. I will continue to happily spend my money here.
Food has always been good here, the beer selection has a decent variety and changes out the locals for a taste of everything. Bar atmosphere is nice and there is also plenty of seating away from the bar if you just want to sit for a bite and not have that noise. Bartenders and servers are all very friendly.
Wings aren’t what they used to be. Can’t seem to understand why their beers are so expensive.. otherwise they do have good food and a fair beer selection. I’ve been to other locations and they are all the same. This is a good place to go to catch the game and have a cold beer. I would choose somewhere else before going here but I don’t mind it here. They can definitely use some improvements.
My first time going here, the wings are by far some of my favorite in Rochester. Our server wasnt very attentive and would forget about us every once in awhile. The Buffalo Chicken dip was pretty good however to be honest the reason to go here is for the wings and beer. Beer selection isnt too bad, dont expect much in the way of craft selection.
Just came from here for my first visit. The drinks were very good and strong. I also ordered loaded fries which were just okay and were over cooked. I got the garlic parmesan wings which were ok also. I have only had garlic parmesan wings at one other place which were delicious. The wings here however were disappointing because they were drenched in minced garlic sauce. It was like eating scampi. They get a great review for drinks but the food wasnt on point tonight.
Wings, drinks, atmosphere are good. The rest of the food menu isnt anything special. AT&T cell reception is bad non-existent. Football is hyped so if youre looking for a hyped football atmosphere, its a great place for a Sunday afternoon. Jerimiahs has free parking and the restaurant is very spacious. The wait staff are super friendly and always asking if the table needs anything.Edit: going from 3 to 4 stars because the wings are AMAZING
We ordered two sandwiches they tell us 25 minutes my husband goes to pick it up (25 minutes later) and waits for 30 minutes after paying and then they ask him if hes an Uber eats driver. Then he asks for his money back after they dont even offer to correct it. How rude.
Came here around 7:45pm this past Sunday, excited because there are many great choices to eat. While I usually frequent the Penfield location we decided to give this one a try because it’s closer to home. It took about 5-10 minutes for us to see a host and be sat at a table. We were sat in a far back corner by the bathroom which had a lingering odor but I tried to get past that. After reviewing the entire menu front to back maybe even a few times, finally a waitress came over to tell us she would be right with us and yet we never saw her again. Well about 15 minutes in to sitting at the table we were not even given water or asked if we wanted to order, nothing. We ended up just walking out because if it was going to take more than 15 minutes for a glass of water I could only imagine how long it would take for food to come out. Extremely disappointed and unfortunately will likely never return.
Great addition to the west side! Food was good, restaurant was very clean, wings were delicious, service was quick!! Great overall experience. My only suggestion is that they need to turn down the air...it is cold as a meat locker in there...my kids were shivering on a 90 degree day! The waitstaff was moving at a fast pace, so I am sure they appreciated the temp, but diners should bring a sweater to throw on!
Wish I liked this place. Ive been here 5 times in the 3+ years Ive lived 1 block away. The service from the bar staff has been terrible every time Ive been there. The first time the bartender tried to add her friends drinks onto my tab. I had to argue with her to get them removed. The 2nd time the bartender got our entire food order wrong. The latest time (today) I ordered a burger without cheese for my friend who doesnt eat cheese. This should be pretty simple but somehow they still put cheese on the burger. This will be my last attempt at going to Jeremiahs. The only people getting treated well at this place are the regulars and the friends of the bartenders. As for the actual dining room staff and cooks, they are great. Very friendly and very good food when its made how the customer requests it.
They could use more staff and better train them because being in a restaurant for a total of 3 and half hours for a party of 15 is just waay too long. But other than that, beer selection was great and their signature wings were well worth the wait. I tried a total of six flavors and they were all good!
Ive had good experiences here in the past, but after asking if my order is ready, this new guy walked off and has left me here for about 8 minutes now without coming back and letting me know the status of my order. 10 minutes now.The place seems to have gotten a lot slower lately - Ive had major wait times several times lately (with no explanation given). Id suggest coming at least 10 minutes late to pick up your order if you dont want to run the risk of having to wait around - though even then you might be waiting for a bit. After waiting for 19 minutes past the time that it was supposed to be ready, the guy insisted that the order had just been ordered 10 minutes ago (I double checked - it was 19 minutes after the order was supposed to be ready, and longer since the order had been ordered). Slow, arrogant service that makes excuses instead of appologizing.
Good late night option. TVs all on sports games. When busy, its REALLY full & loud, but fun. Easy to chat with people around you at the bar. Great burgers. Variety of foods, all good. Lots of different beers. Parking on street & behind building. Music playing but not blasting. Bathrooms could use a re-do. Very friendly bartenders & servers.
The food is remarkably good for a bar/pub. Jeremiahs is definitely one of my most favorite restaurants in Rochester. Ive tried almost every item on the menu and I like them all. Theyre known for their wings (I prefer the Bee Sting sauce) but I dont think they get enough credit for the rest of their menu. The Buffalo Chicken wrap is great, their Twisted Mac and Cheese is amazing, and the lobster bisque and their clam chowder (both on Fridays) are incredible. They have a HUGE beer selection (on tap), and the place itself had plenty of seating - especially for large groups.Id recommend this Rochester staple to anyone.
You always have to work hard to get a bartender to get you a drink. Even if its barely - mildly crowded and theres empty glasses in front of you.Foods ok, but ordered a pretzel and it came with table salt on it and water cheese. (I had ordered a pretzel previously and it had normal pretzel salt, I was aware the cheese was watery but the mustard is decent so ordered again.) Likely wont go back.
Worst wings ever! Couldnt even eat them. Just ordered 2 orders of the smoked wings and got 20 pieces of wing jerky. Burnt all the way through and so tough that I cut my mouth on the first one I bit into. Why someone would even let that go out of the kitchen is beyond me. I understand that things happen, but that is pure laziness and carelessness. I guess when its delivery theyll just toss some kitchen trash in a box and send it out. Awesome job chef.
Here are some must tries, french onion soup, pow pow wings, & the wise guy burger! All delish with great flavor. Service could be better. Make sure to check your to go orders i have had things missing on multiple occasions and when having to call back and speak to a manager theyre seemingly no help and very rude. I was even hung up on by a server once.Just an update to the review. Some how service has gotten even worse last Friday I called 7 times before they answered. And was told 30 mins for pick up and when I got there it still was not ready and I even waited 40 mins. And it took 5 mins for someone to see me waiting at the host stand. Too bad the service IS all around horrible at this location even the managers are no help. On the plus side the kitchen still makes good wings. With how pricey the wings and other items are the service should be much better.
Normally I like this place but its gone downhill fast, they seem to only have one bar person working an no one cleaning, the back half of the bar was covered in used glasses and I ordered some chicken fingers.... literally took 45 minutes. Ended up cancelling them and leaving.
Not a fan. They have redone their menu in the past few years and expanded but not my sort of joint. If you like loud settings with a lot of monitors to watch sports on, game on. Otherwise go elsewhere. The wings arent as awesome as people make them out to be and the rest of the menu seems uninspired. Good for a quick beer but thats about it.
I have always LOVED Jeremiahs! My last visit to the Monroe restaurant did not meet the expectations I have for this restaurant. Our server was very good and truly felt bad and appeared embarrassed that our food was so bad. He tried several times to make it right-thats why the 4 stars, if I was only rating the food, I could not give more than 1 star and that is because the food can only be described as awful and not at all appetizing! We ordered a 10 piece wing platter - the wings smoked/Bee Sting (sweet & tangy) and EXTRA WELL DONE! The platter comes with a piece of cornbread and 1 side. I chose a side salad w a $2 additional charge. My salad came with the hot food. The wings were NOT well done, some actually had pink close to the bone. We also ordered Poutine -w extra WELL DONE Steak fries, cheese curds and gravy all over it. The poutine came out luke warm as if the gravy poured over the top was never heated and was poured right from a can at room temperature onto the plate. The cheese curds are typically melted in this dish from the hot fries and hot gravy. Our cheese curds were ice cold, seriously straight from the fridge onto the plate not at all melted, the fries we ordered xtra well done came out blanched, not only were they NOT well done, most of them were not even fully cooked! So our waiter came to check on us after we received our food, he asked if everything was to our liking. I was honest and expressed wings/Fries NOT WELL DONE, poutine not hot. He asked if we wanted wings cooked more-we said yes. He took them back. Not only were the wings not cooked-The smoked w Bee Sting sauce is a BAD COMBO!! they tasted like they were cooked w way too much liquid smoke and had vinegar poured over them. I asked if we could choose a different sauce bc I chose the bee sting and I was so turned off I couldnt eat any so my husband requested buffalo- the 2nd order of wings came out packed up in a box to go. When we arrived home my hungry husband opened the box and was turned off by the smoke odor . He shut the box and they are sitting in the fridge untouched 5 days later. Our waiter told us the Poutine was on him. We were starving so when we gave the waiter the wings back we picked at the poutine and the wings remain untouched. The wings were packed without the corn, Bread. Very disappointing dinner at Jeremiahs- not sure if they have new cooks or if people called in sick or what the problem was bc I have gone several times before and never had a ad meal
Our first time in the new Jeremiahs in Gates was a good experience, despite varying reviews. The customer service was very good, we were seated right away, and our waitress was very friendly, polite, and bubbly! The atmosphere was nice as well, very spacious, lots of tvs, and outdoor seating as well. Finally, the food was good except one of our burgers was charred to a crisp when we asked for medium-rare. She offered to get us a new burger or something different right away.
Deplorable. I only go here as a last resort. I asked the bartender for a vodka and pineapple juice and he gave me rum. I could understand if it was busy, but there were maybe three people there. I ordered a meal and it was completely inedible. The service at the bar is always terrible. The bar staff is dismissive and inattentive. Complete waste of money.
Visited 3 days in a row for lunch. Staff are friendly. Place is big and clean. Menu is deep and solid. My brother called this bar food but I think that undersells it. Its a restaurant with a bar frontend. I particularly enjoyed the Cuban sandwich, panko onion rings and horseradish ranch dressing.
I would have given 5 stars. The food was great until I bit into my last boneless wing and found it to be raw in the middle. I let the waitress know in which she told me they come precooked and it wasnt raw. She went and checked and it in fact was. No manager came to address the issue which bothered me a little. I dont want anyone else at risk for salmonella. Otherwise the waitress was very apologetic and took it off my bill. Im just disappointed a manager wasnt concerned
Ill start by saying that the Wings were good but not as good as Duffs. If anyone tells you otherwise, they dont know good wings. They have a lot of good options on the menu for being a pub. The mahi mahi tacos were great and the brie bacon burger was good too. Im going to go back because there are still a few things I thought looked good like a shrimp poboy wrap and a mahi sandwich. They expanded and have a lot of seating now. There is still a traditional bar to hang out at but also quieter seating in the other rooms.
Love the food but I havent had a good dine in experience YET. Never do I get a greeting when coming in...just rude looks and no one is ever at the door 😢 The people who worked there just stood in position tlked to others and I had to literally find someone to seat me. My waiter never came back the entire meal until the end. I still enjoyed the food just wish the service was better.
Walked in, was greeted pretty quickly. Was sat at a table that turned out to be dirty. Would have complained but I sat there for over 10 minutes without a waiter even greeting me. Ended up walking out. The service at this location is consistently piss poor compared to the Jeremiahs in Henrietta. Ive given this location a couple of chances since I live 1.5 miles away, but that was the last straw.
I ordered some wings seeing that folks were raving this restaurants serves the best wings in town. And I am here to tell you that Jeremiahs DO NOT!! Every wing was frost burned and the wings were not fried hard as I requested. I left a voicemail and no one responded. And seeing that I dont eat frost burned meat I had to throw these wings out. This restaurant will never get another red cent from me! Beware!!
Best wings? Dont think so. The garlic parm wings were awful. They were essentially fried wings sitting in nasty oil, with a little bit of parmesan on top of half of them. The hot wings were decent but nothing different than any hot wing youve had before. The loaded fries were bland. The cheese was not warm, and the bacon was bland. It tasted like someone threw cheese and bacon bits on frozen french fries and put that in the oven for a few minutes. The worst thing was the cornbread. I cant remember the last time I had food that bad at a restaurant. The texture was off and the flavor was offensive. To top it off, the service was terrible. Our waitress was handling at least 10 tables at once and it took a very long time to place our order and get the bill.I will never come back to Jeremiahs.
The food was good but the waitress, Monica was a jerk. We were eating outside. After we were done, she hadnt checked on us in a bit so I decided to go in and ask for the checks and i offered to bring the checks outside for her because she seemed pretty busy. I guess she didnt like that cuz she rolled her eyes and walked away. Then, I will admit, it got a little bit confusing because we split up. Some of us wanted to close out our cards at the bar and other had to leave so I picked up their tab for them and she basically yelled at us for splitting up and not staying in one spot. I get that it might be slightly frustrating but none of us were rude to her at all so the attitude that we got from her was completely unnecessary. The eye rolling, slamming the gate open to the back area...so unprofessional. I am a server so I understand the chaos but if we werent being rude to her, there was no reason for her to be rude to us. Terrible 🤦♀️
Jeremiahs is a place my family has been going to for years. Its mood really changes depending at what time you go (College bar vs. Family restaurant), but they have a new room to separate the noise if you cant handle it. Parking is rough even with the addition of a new parking lot.The wings are famous for good reason and many people consider them the best in Rochester. They opened a new location recently but this is the Jeremiahs you want to go to. Its a great Tavern, hard to find bad food here.
Your chef Dakkota is an amazing asset to this establishment. When voicing how amazed I was with the food,he came out personally to thank me.He bowed in honor, stating if it wasnt for covid and the restaurants very well maintained social distancing and strict CDC guideline on this policy I would have recieved a hand shake&a high 5.This place receives a 5 star review and especially to the star cook/employee Dakkota Whitmore-zenkar👍Thank you Jeremiahs!!!-much ♡Jazz Waters
Pleased with both quality of food & attentiveness of the staff. People in our party raved about the wings, while others were more than just pleased with their sandwiches (pastrami, turkey reuben, pulled pork sliders). Staff very accommodating relative to making sure the TVs were switched to the S.U. basketball game!
If you like eating salad stumps, this is your place! The bee sting salad comes with out the main ingredient, bee sting sauce!! And a pound of cheese. If you request light sauce on your wings you also get a load of extra sauce on your wings! They are not the best wings around, I dont know how they ever got that name for themselves. Bay Goodman on winton road should have that title and they dont ever screw food up. I highly recommend NOT ordering from here, but if you like salad stumps this is the place for you. Great job! ...nottttttttt, nopee, nurrrrrrrr, no!
Used to be billed As comfortable as your favorite jeans but its anything but these days. I went on a trivia night, which was a mistake because I wanted to watch the Yankees. Beer was pricey, bartender seemed unaware of what was on tap. I asked one bartender what was on the genesee tap and he lost interest in answering me so I had to flag down the second bartender. Generally smells like a few labatts have been spilled on the floor. Food continues to climb in cost so I dont eat here anymore. Used to go here to watch sports and meet family for fish fry, not anymore. Ive heard its been sold a few times, maybe a committed owner could push down the drunk bar vibe but I doubt anyone will as long as people keep buying pricey beer and food.
Ive been here several times over the past three years--including a few times in the past few weeks to watch World Cup games--and can agree with many of the other negative reviews here: the place has gone downhill. The food is mediocre, over-salted, and waaaaaayyy too expensive for what it is. The service is poor. And to top it all off, the past few times Ive been in there my beer tasted bad, flat, and like it came from tap lines that hadnt been cleaned in far too long. Ill not be back anytime soon.
Placed order through Grubhub. Driver arrived within 15 minutes of placing my order. An hour later, after the driver had inquired twice, I called Jeremiah’s. I was told 1) “The kitchen is really backed up” and then 2) they had no order for me. I felt bad for the Grubhub driver. Now I sit on hold with Grubhub for the last 20 min trying to get my $96.00 refunded. Again-NOT the fault of Grubhub. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS RESTAURANT.
Ive lived in the neighborhood of Jeremiahs for more than 10 years, and while I have been a casual to regular patron, a series of awful experiences compelled me to write this review. To call this a review is an understatement, this is a WARNING: Awful service, mostly from a series of Napoleon-complexed managers. As I paid my tab there last time, which will be the last of my money spent there, the bartender was actually apologizing for the managers behavior. Awful food, their claim to fame is their chicken wing which wins a local media award every year, but if you were to sit and eat them its easy to see the connection between advertising dollars and their venerable award. Please keep in mind I have long time friends that work there currently and I know a number of former employees. I work in food service, I understand how operations can breakdown sometimes, But I will no longer spend my money there, as a public service I will tell everyone who mentions the place about the experiences (notice the plural) I have had. Bring your custom somewhere where you will be treated like a paying customer. For example Montys Krown or the Otter Lodge, two places at which I have never had anything but positive experiences.
Over Labor Day weekend I visited the newest location in Penfield. The outdoor bar seemed nice, except the view is just medicore. However, the nightmare came two days later as I looked at my bank statement. One of the outdoor bartenders charged some other patrons tab on my card! It was a large amount, too. I am hoping the management will be able to rectify the situation without having to dispute the charge with my bank (the bank suggested I contact the vendor first). Not a great first impression. :-(
When you walk in you have a bar to the far left. 3 separate room, you can sit where ever you want. Atleast that is what I did. Many TVs to watch the BIG GAME. Staff is friendly, prompt at one point in time, i asked for water and waited and waited only to realize that the waitress already brought it. Will be going back again. Parking is a pain.
I am terribly disappointed in this place. I used to enjoy coming here but the service has become terrible and every waiter/waitress I have speaks to me with an attitude and is never helpful. I enjoyed the atmosphere before but can get better wings elsewhere and its not worth the terrible customer service.

2022-06-19I got chicken tenders, steak fries, and Mac n cheese to go... The Mac n cheese was too gross to even eat. Looked yummy, but tasted like it was frozen then microwaved and expired Colby Jack was melted onto it. The chicken was super fried and tasted unsettling. And the fries were too hard, like they were almost raw potato. This was my first time eating there, and the last.

2022-03-13We live nearby and order from here often. Wings are worth the price IMO. Ordered a French dip sandwich and was disappointed in the small amount of fries that came with the sandwich.

2022-03-05This place has really gone down hill. Used to love it and they had great wings. Suddenly within the last year they forgot how to cook wings. Also last time I went there they split up my friends and put us in whole different rooms because the waitresses wanted to each have half of us in their section?? There was barely anyone else there.

2022-03-22Every time I come back here, its like returning to the scene of the crime where we spent our carefree youthful years back in the 80s and 90s. And today was no exception. Cajun dry rub wings, a giant spinach salad, a bowl of chowder and of course Brendas chicken sandwich because Brenda was second to none. And it never fails, we always see somebody from back in the day when Belmont Street in the Upper Monroe neighborhood was where it was at!!

2022-06-27I was starving after a 2 show day at Geva Theatre! Our show ended at 9:30pm. Thank you for being apparently the only place in Rochester who serves food past 10pm. Ordered bbq wings which were on point! And something I thought was a stacked up burger with a bunch of stuff in it. Totally wasn’t what I was thinking and I really didn’t want it. So I sent it back and got a burger instead with cheddar cheese, lettuce tomato, pickles, and mayo, which was perfectly cooked and so juicy! And it came with curly fries. Our server (Leah) was super accommodating about that. I felt bad to have food get sent back and I do hope someone in the staff ate it or packed to take home. Thank you Leah for being awesome and caring about me enjoying the food I was having. I’d definitely go back and get both items again. Just what I needed after a long day. Pricing was good too!

2022-06-15Excellent wing platter. Down a star because service was a little slow and couldnt get anybody to take my order for about 15 min after I came in. Also, the food took awhile to come out. But the food was bussin and Thank God they had the NBA Finals on.

2019-02-25The buffalo wings here are great and so is the sweet sauce too. We had a flat bread pizza which was pretty good! And we also had some clam chowder that was a great appetizer. The beer was awesome. My new go to place for wings.

2022-06-23Not like Jeremiahs of old. Food was ok. Played country western only while we were there. I like C.W. but miss the other toons they would play.
