Jims Steakout in other cities:
This location has never let me down. But on 8/2/21 @ 9pm, that crew gets a 10/10!! Quality was FANTASTIC, followed the order to a T, and had it ready on time when i pre-ordered. Bravo crew, Bravo. And i will call it how i experience it. It was that perfect, i had to write a review. Dont be cheap, tip these people, they good at what they do!!
Overall bad experience over and over at this location. Been a customer here close to 15 years and never experienced such rude and ignorant employees til now on multiple occasions. I’ve had better customer service at corner stores in the ghetto than this place as of recent and cooperate doesn’t care enough to fix it so I’ll make a well deserved review about it.
Came in tonight ( July 12) later in the evening before closing and the 2 gentleman and lady working were awesome!! Treated me great so friendly and just so happy!! I’ll come back here time and time again because of them!! Haven’t been this happy with take out in forever!! Thanks guys you were the BEST!!!
I go in the store and no employees are in sight, music blaring, at 11:40am. After waiting for 4 minutes for someone to come out from the back, Tyler has an attitude like he doesnt want to be there. I understand its fast food, but cant you at least hire someone whos not a complete tool?
They were out of the pop I wanted at the soda dispensing machine, or just didnt want to refill the canisters. Tables hadnt been cleaned in a while, which is remarkable during these COVID times. And the bathroom smelled like pot. Not what I expected from Jims, or at least not the Amherst location.**UPDATE** I tried to contact Jims per their response, but their mailbox was full.
Been going to this Jim’s location for years being a UB alum and living in the area; tonight, I had an above average and phenomenal experience that warranted a review! Not sure what his name was but guy in the Pepsi hat that addresses everyone by sir and mam; you deserve some sort of raise or promotion or something because you are VERY professional and well mannered with just an all around great aura! I ordered a turkey sub, they put it on the wrong bread (wheat and White sound the same over the phone so I’ll chalk it up to that). The team went above and beyond to make sure I got the right sub and even threw in a drink for the inconvenience. I work at ADP and work with TONS of small businesses locally and I have got to say that the level of team work and professionalism I saw was above par! Whoever the owner is, your team tonight August 21st around 9:45pm is top notch, especially the guy in the Pepsi hat that was working the counter.
Id LOVE to give this place a ZERO. They deserve less than that. I ordered a SIMPLE chicken finger sub with just Bleu cheese and BBQ with no veggies. I was on my way to work so I didnt open it until it got to my office. The sub is hot sauce, no Bleu and LOADED with onions. I called them back. They sounded like the couldnt care less. Avoid this place at all costs
Disgusting. I just ordered 3 Jefferson subs and asked for extra sauce . All three subs were dry and missing the cheese. Such a disappointment. I called to complain and the guy that took the complaint only offered me to come in for a container of sauce . What a disappointment. Very frustrated. I wish he had asked to remake my food but he didnt so I asked for a credit or something. He claim to have asked for a gift card that Im sure wont cover my order. He said hell mail it ugh so upset and hungry.
This franchise offers pretty much the same exact level and quality of food throughout the chain. The only real difference with this location are the workers that you get to deal with. Most of my interactions with the staff at this Jims has been good, but every so often I have to deal with some snotty angst-ridden teenager who wrecks the whole thing for me. If only these kids knew how replaceable they really are. Im grateful that Skip The Dishes offers delivery from here so we can enjoy the food without having to roll the dice on dealing with staff.
Once you leave Western NY, this is one of the things you will miss. Whenever Im back in the area, I need to get a chicken finger sub. The only chain that does them right is Jims. This was the first time Ive been to this location.Food made to order.Friendly staff.Awesome food.Good prices.I have yet to have an experience anything less than great at any location.
A group of us college kids had just driven from Albany, then went to Niagara falls, then needed to eat. This was at midnight. We show up, laughing a bit louder than we should, and ordered. All 10 of us shut up real quick when we got the food. It was so good it floored us. Months later we still talk about this place. And every time I am in Buffalo you bet your but we are going there.
Food is fine. But the mens bathroom doesnt even have a soap dispenser or toilet paper. I sure hope its not the same bathroom the employees use...at least theyre good about wearing gloves and switching gloves frequently. Kitchen looks clean, but everywhere else is kinda not nice.
Called to place an order, was put in on hold for 12 minutes and 34 seconds and was then hung up on. I dont care how busy a place may be if Im trying to call in an order that is ridiculous. When I called back I was told that I should have already know they are busy and that I should just pay an extra $6 to have Uber deliver my order even though I just live around the corner. Worst service Ive ever received at a Jims. Would absolutely not recommend this location if not Jims as a whole if thats how they staff their restraunts now.
They keep closing early, we come before 4:30, theyre supposed to be open until 5 and they close before 4:30. Would be ok if they didnt close early every single time.Same exact thing tonight Saturday night (Sunday 12/1/19). Arrived at 4:30am and the doors were locked again, even though theyre supposed to close at 5am. These people dont go by the set hours. Just set the hours to 4:30am if you want to close then and avoid the confusion.
The male who took my order was attentive and very nice. He caught the mistake that the two black girls didnt (because they were too busy with headphones in to listen to him) then after the male caught their mistake, i watched them give him attitude. Time to fire your black female employees who would rather listen to music than work. At the same time promote the man who did the right thing. I wont be back, ever again. Horrible management.
Great service and food. I frequent this location and I’ve only had a problem once. Definitely the sub joint of choice in WNY. Hoagies are chocked full of meat and their chicken finger subs are the best in town.I can’t help but address dumb reviews by others. Spoiled/bad food does not give one a headache or sore throat. Unless someone with a contagious disease coughed directly on your sandwich. Mind you this is a risk at places that serve you food.
The place is clean and the people friendly. My BBQ pulled pork hoagie had so much BBQ sauce on it that the meat could have been anything and I would have no way of knowing. If your thing is lots of sauce with no substance then go for it. I did not enjoy it.btw.. It was $9 for the 8 sandwich. For $9 I just have higher expectations I guess.
Mixed up our bags. Then let us wait 15 mins making fries and realize the bags were mixed. Then gave us the correct bag with the cold fries. ... coulda given us them fresh ones....Second time here. Ordered a chicken diavlo. They said I ordered a diavlo defaults to steak and argued over a replacement. This place needs to restate orders to confirm over the phone or listen better to directions. (10/4/18 5:56pm)
We usually go to Jims Steakout and the service is sub par at best but we were intending on ordering a few subs for the night and when we called they answered as usual this is Jim;s and we said we are placing a order for pick up up ...BAM! they hung up the phone. We initially thought it was a mistake we are only human. So.. we called again they answered as usual and what happen once we said we would like to place a order... and once again they hung up the phone. To us those actions seemed intentional.
Very rude Idk who works the night shift but I ask to speak to the manager A numerous of times and I was hung up on so I hope the manager does see this post because you have people at your restaurant playing games on your phone and you’re losing out on money because a lot of people see this post and I’m going to suggest that they don’t come to your restaurant
Well be eating there for years. Now it reminds me of the old Wendys commercial. wherethe old lady says wheres the beef. 15 bucks for a sub fries and a water with extra cheese and no meat. Cant leave hungry after a roll with cheese on it and maybe 5 ounces of meat. It think you have become a sell out.

2022-08-10This Jims Steakout is the best Ive ever worked at. Everyone knew what they were doing on the job, and they dont leave any crew members struggling, they all work together to help one another no matter how busy they are. Managment was very professional, and has dedicated workers that will go out of their way to help customers, no matter what type of energy or attitude a customer has. I would love to work with a crew in a kitchen again, that has such focused workers as this location has.

2022-09-19This isnt the type of food I usually eat, but a friend wanted to visit. The venue looked a little sketch, so I was skeptical, BUT it was really good. Had the chicken tacos ... yum.

2022-08-01This location does not deserve any stars! With everything i order, i received half the amount. Everything was poorly made, and over cooked. And the employee taking my order had zero phone etiquette. But this is what i get for giving this place a second chance, but it will not happen again. GET IT TOGETHER!

2019-04-22We tried Jims steakout for the first time, and we werent disappointed. We each had a steak and cheese sub. And the mac and cheese bites to share. The subs were really good. At first I thought they were a bit pricey, but then realized that it was real steak, and a lot of it.The bites tasted like kraft mac n cheese. They were coated and deep fried. Not healthy, obviously, but yummy. The staff was decent, and made our subs to order. They were not overly busy.We will go back some late night again.

2022-03-03I’m not one to complain but was hung up on. Ordered a stinger that had two small fingers that didn’t even fit the whole sub. Also had a lg fry and two sides nacho cheese. The fry had only half the bag full and the nacho cheese was either burned or old because it was almost brown. I’ve ordered here before never had a problem. Super disappointed. Also I feel employees shouldn’t have there ear buds in when dealing with customers. I work in customer service, I know there’s issues but idk. I never throw out food but was mad and tossed it

2022-06-27Food was wrong, tremendously slow and fights breaking out within the store.. It couldnt have been been a worse experience. Was going to dine in but the events dictated that we should leave.

2022-01-18Ordered 2 subs and mozzarella sticks. Got home to find the mozz sticks had the cheese exploding out of them. They were fried too long. The sub had tomatoes and onions and we just ordered lettuce. The 2nd sub was cut awkwardly and all the sauce was on one side. The 2nd half was dry chicken. I dont expect a lot from fast food but this was bad. And they werent even busy.

2021-11-25Their music was so loud that we could barely hear the person at the register. They spent more time dancing than making food. The ones not dancing were standing by idly talking. Food was fine.
