This is the best service! They come take your rugs away and they come back as good as (or Better than) new. Especially great bc now our dog leaves the clean rugs alone. Also got some tricky stains out of a suede like couch as well as our rundown and hard to clean ikea couch. Highly recommend!
Ive been using Jarred and his team for years because they are simply the best. Unbelievably professional and thorough. My couch and rug look incredible. I had just gotten my floors refinished and Ori was extremely careful - wore booties and lifted the furniture vs dragging it. I was so appreciative and impressed! We cannot recommend Jarred highly enough! There are so many crooked rug companies, and Jarred is a small business owner and keeps every transaction personal from start to finish. I have used other services and they were a nightmare (especially the frauds pretending to be ABC etc. Even ABC just subcontracts the work and marks it up). After lots of research we found Jarred and he has always responded quickly, showed up on time, and then re-installed all our rugs perfectly with new rug pads after they were cleaned etc. He is the small business owner you want to support. We were thrilled with his seamless, personal service. Cannot recommend him any higher than five stars, but wish we could!
I ordered a beautiful yet shockingly stinky rug on Etsy. Hoping it could be salvaged, I called around to a few local rug cleaners at noon on a Saturday to get a quote. Not only did Jarred answer my call, he came to my apartment that same afternoon. With only a moment’s inspection he was able to tell me the rug’s entire history (hand-repaired fringe, sun-fade, rose over-dye, etc.) Then, in order to diagnose the smell, he buried his whole face in the rug and inhaled it like it was a spring bouquet (I gagged, but he was totally composed). He did a good job managing my expectations as to what a cleaning would and wouldn’t change (for example, it wouldn’t make the rug more ivory, and it may not get out 100% of the “funk”.) Finally, he sent me a PDF quote within 24 hours. All this was FREE. I didn’t ultimately use his services because I sent the rug back, but I will be Jarred’s loyal customer forever.
I called J.L. at 10am with an emergency cleanup and someone was at my place within 90 minutes! I couldnt believe it! The guy was super nice and did a great job. Everyone I interacted with on the team was absolutely professional and a pleasure to deal with. Highly recommended!
Jarred did an excellent job cleaning my items. I think he did them twice because they were so dirty --- above and beyond the call of duty! It was very comfortable to have him in the house, which is not true of alot of household-cleaner-repair type people. We left him alone and let him do his job. And he was on time!

An excellent experience. I requested an appointment on their website on a Thursday evening, and by 9 am on Friday morning, theyd gotten back to me to schedule cleaning for Monday morning. The friendly technician, Ori, sent me a text to confirm he was en route, arrived 5 minutes early, and was properly masked for COVID safety. The work was completed in a timely and thorough manner. Highly recommended for all of your carpet cleaning needs.

Jared provided exceptional service. Our outdoor couch cushions were extremely dirty after a renovation. He picked them up and returned them looking brand new. He was extremely responsive and provided outstanding service. He went above and beyond; He even wrapped the cushions in plastic to protect them over the winter.

This is the 2nd time Ive ever used an upholstery cleaning service in NYC and I definitely will be a repeat customer. The person who came to clean my sofa was very friendly and polite. He took a look at my sofa and recommended I wait to clean it as it was in pretty good shape. I really appreciated the honest feedback and offered to pay a cancellation fee and he turned that down. I found the whole experience refreshingly honest and felt like he was trustworthy even if it meant holding off on using the company’s services. I plan to use this company when it is time to clean my sofa.
Cleaned my large sectional with tons of stains from having three kids at home. Couch looked brand new when they were done. On time, professional, efficient, good quality. Second time using them and Ill keep coming back.

This is a professionally run company. They were courteous when I called them, on time for the appointment, pleasant, quiet and professional when working, and all around did a great job. Great experience! Jarred arrived on time and was extremely friendly. He covered his shoes to keep my apartment clean and was very knowledgeable about our carpet and upholstery materials. He even gave his option of a stain on a rug I wasn’t having cleaned. Prices were much cheaper than other local options I found and comparable to Stanley Steamers. But I’d prefer to go through a small business so I’d definitely choose J.L. over Stanley Steamers moving forward.
My technician Ori was prompt, professional and very kind. He has great energy and did a wonderful job cleaning two plus years of pet stink and hair out of our couch.

I gave Jared a distressed wool rug from Morocco to clean and not only did it look great when it returned (none of the colors had blended upon cleaning) but he also fit me into his tight schedule when returning the rug, as I wanted to give the rug as a Christmas gift. Jarred, the owner of J.L Carpet and Upholstery, is very professional and an all around nice guy. He took the time to explain both over the phone and in home about our area rug and offered very good advice. We originally wanted him to clean just an area rug but upon going over the condition of the carpet with him, we decided to scrap the carpet. He didnt try to clean it and take our money but gave an honest assessment. He is going to be cleaning another room in a few days. His prices are also better than all the estimates I got around town. He, as with most of the reviewers I have seen for this company, is honest and doesnt try to swindle you. I am very glad I am doing business with him.
Jared is a gem! He is knowledgeable and has great integrity. He told me NOT to bother cleaning my carpet for a year or two. He is passionate about his work and generous with his advice. I got a great mini-education about my carpet and how to maintain it.
J.L. are pleasant and on point to deal with. They got rid of an terrible mothball smell - I had a beautiful vintage rug I had brought back from Morocco years ago and had stored in a garage. It was so bad I didnt know if it could be saved. They did a great job and the price was very fair.

Jarred was available to come to our apartment to learn our sofa and pick up our Turkish kilim which he inspected and provided me some background info as well as recommendations for a rug pad to protect it long-term. These guys did a great job; the guy that came buy was very friendly and took his time. After cleaning my couch he showed me the color of the water which was pitch black and really made me happy I had it cleaned. Will definitely use these guys ever 4 months or so...

What a surprise! A company made up of people who are honest and straight-forward, who told me what they were sure they could do and what they werent, who wont take payment until theyve done work to my satisfaction, AND who did a great job. My cat had peed on my very high quality sofa. I had very low expectations. These guys did an incredible job. NO smell is left. I cant recommend them more highly.

I was so impressed by the knowledge Jared shared about the age, type and quality of my heirloom carpet. My 40 years old, wool fiber oriental style carpet was badly in need of a cleaning and had become flattened and stiff with years of ground in dirt. Thankfully, we didn’t have any lasting damage and the carpet was returned beautifully cleaned and velvety soft underfoot. Jared explained the ideal direction to place the carpet in the room for maximum effect and kindly installed it while cheerfully shifting furniture. The final price for the cleaning ended up being less than the original quote because I had over estimated the size of the carpet. Totally worth every penny. I wish I’d had it cleaned years ago!
This is my favorite Dyker Heights laundromat. The owner and operator is a nice lady and she keeps her prices fair. Machines take quarters only. $2.00 for a small washing machine, $3.50 for a large. 25 cents per 8 minute of dryer use. Sometimes one of the machines is out of service but normally there are vacant machines and its not too busy.
JL Carpet and Upholstery ruined a very expensive chair and will accept zero responsibility (see picture below). Please do not let this happen to you. Be wary of the previous positive reviews. I wish I had been.JL carpet came to clean and try to remove a small 1.5 inch stain on the arm of one of my very expensive chairs. The first technician created stripes all over the chair so the owner, Jarred, came back to fix the “mistake” as he called it. Jarred’s attempt to “fix the mistake” turned my beautifully dark grey viscose velvet chair to silver with line marks all over that do not come out. It is completely ruined. It is one of two chairs- so I have the other chair to compare it to. The untouched chair remains dark grey just as I purchased it. And the “cleaned” chair is now bright silver with line marks all over it.I now need to have the chair completely reupholstered and Jarred will accept zero liability. Whatever work Jarred’s company did on my chair irrefutably and irreversibly ruined the fabric. Don’t let this happen to you.

Jarreds team cleaned my mothers carpets, sofa, and recliner which shed had for several years. Then they did my living room and bedroom carpets and sofa. This was the second time Id used Jarreds services; the first time was several years ago. My living room rug in particular had seen better days; its off-white and gets a lot of traffic. And it had spots. Thanks to Jarreds team I can postpone buying a new living room carpet for at least another year, maybe longer. His team is friendly, efficient, and they arrive on time - even to my apartment in Queens where parking is impossible! I would recommend JL Carpet and Upholstery to anyone.

2022-08-16We had the absolute best experience! So nice, on time and did an absolutely fantastic job removing all of the spots (and then some) on our couch.We have a dog and have had spots and minor pilling from the last two years and our couch practically looks brand new.

2022-07-19A little white man named Jared quoted me cleaning and delivery to clean my rugs only to find out he’s cleaning them in the basement of his house with small portable machine instead of a commercial mounted carpet cleaning machine. You can’t properly clean a oriental rug with a portable upholstery machine, waters not hot enough and doesn’t have enough pressure. Also uses cheap non commercial products that are just soapy which attracts more dirt when it drys. This guy basically woke up one day and decided “ i want be a carpet cleaner” without having proper certification or going to certification classes. I guess i can be a carpet cleaner too and so can you, all you need is a machine and to go on google learn apparently. Carpet cleaning is a science and these smaller companies like JL and Israeli carpet cleaners aren’t equipped to properly handle fine upholstery and rugs.

2022-08-06JL Carpet provided excellent cleaning service on an old Chinese rug which was very dirty. They scheduled pick up and drop off times and were there when they said they would be. I will use their service again when I need my rug cleaned.

2021-09-01The technician arrived ahead of schedule. He was very friendly and also adhered to COVID safety protocols, keeping his mask on and maintaining distance where possible. Our couch was in terrible shape (two young kids and clumsy parents, hadnt been cleaned in about 2 years) and he was very direct about what he thought he could and could not remove. He worked diligently for about an hour, and by the end, he exceeded our expectations. The couch looks fantastic! Would definitely call this service again.
