I’ve seen three doctors here of which only one had a decent bedside manner, but almost as soon as she joined the practice she was moved midtown. The issue with this practice besides the lack of personality is that you can’t get an appointment even if you’re actually sick. It’s really ridiculous. Basically sick and well visits are on the same calendar so good luck getting an appointment even if you have bronchitis and have already been seen by urgent care and they told you to see a doctor ASAP.
I was looking for a new doctor and was very happy to meet Dr. Pavalounis however it’s impossible to schedule appointments. I have been a patient for a few years and have only actually seen her a few times. Well care visits need to be booked very far out and yesterday I wasn’t feeling well and called to make an apt but couldn’t get one. The secretary wasn’t available so I left a message with the receptionist who assured me they would find a time to fit me in. No one ever called me back! I called again this morning and they told me it takes up to 24 hours to return a call. Only after she could tell I was upset she agreed to reach out to the secretary herself only to come back to say the Dr was all booked. I asked her what the point was in having a Dr who can’t see you when you are sick and hung up.
This place has all the making of being a great medical center...except when it doesn’t. The physicians here are great, and their investment in IT infrastructure is amazing- their app is the best I’ve seen. But unfortunately their support staff, some of the nursing staff, and their billing office (or lack of one. i should say) is abysmal. On my first visit, one of the nurses taking my history put down I am a smoker, heavy drinker and drug user (for the record, I am not). I figured that out at my second visit when the nurse was going through my history, and I actually thought she had pulled up the wrong person’s chart. Fine-mistakes happen and this one was east enough to fix. But then I started to notice that the physician billing services seemed to be all over the place. The amounts they were quoting were different than what insurance was saying, which pretty much means that they were breaking their contract agreement with United heathcare. I had tried calling their billing office Many times had repetitively left messages, and never actually talk to a live person and nobody ever called me back. Because it was always the matter of five or $10, I really didn’t make an issue of it. Most recently, NYU changed one of my medical appointments, with no explanation. When I asked them about it, the support staff gave me a horrible attitude. It turned out they had booked another procedure at the same time as mine, and I guess that meant they needed to move mine. Again, mistakes happen, but this woman gave me the worst attitude about it, as though they’re giving me free medical care and I dont get to question anything. You know what? They most certainly are not giving away anything for free. My insurance has paid them close to $14,000 for procedures this year. And they aren’t even done processing things through insurance. They have several thousand dollars more coming.I then followed up with questions as to my most recent notice from NYU that I owe them a couple hundred dollars, when I knew that in fact they didn’t. I once again got an attitude from them, and they couldn’t direct me any further than to call the same number that I already have tried to call where nobody ever answers. For good measure, I tried calling their office again today, and after 20 minutes on hold without speaking to a live person, I finally hung up. I then called the patient services people, who swore that they would speak to the managers there and that I would get a call by the end of the day. Surprise surprise, I never got that call.I had planned on switching my medical care to NYU, but after today’s experience, I went through and canceled all the rest of my future appointments with them. I think I’m fine with just going back to one of the many many other choices I have for good medical care in the city.
My PCP felt a lump in my breast during my annual check up. His office referred me to NYU langone on 84 st.After my first 3D Mammogram at this office, they called me the following week to reschedule an other mammogram stating that the first one was not conclusive.I was surprised when the appointment was after almost 4 weeks. I kep calling asking them if there was any opening sooner but in vain . They said that I was on the waiting list . They asked me to keep calling which I did almost every day.Bear in mind that I was so worried about the lump in my left Breast which kept me awake at night.at The date of the second Mammogram, I showed up , the receptionist informed me that they had left me a message to reschedule the appointment due to the fact that the technician had an emergency. I was so upset , I informed her that I have been calling the office to push the appointment earlier. she kept looking at her screen and said we would take in but you had to come back later in the day. I told her that I left work and it was not my fault that the technician had an emergency. After she spoke to her supervisor, she came back and informed me that it was ok for me to wait but that I should know ,that waiting time was about an hour and half I guessed hinting that I would be waiting longer .I just felt that they are not personable at all and they just go through the forms like robots.
Made an appointment for my wife, which required a 3 month wait but was told our insurance was accepted . A month before the appt. I called to re- confirm appt. and insurance acceptability . Both were confirmed . Days before the appointment they called to say our insurance was not accepted.I called back to express my disappointment at their failure to know, on 2 occasions , what insurance they accepted. I was put on hold , was disconnected , no one ever called back. Great experience . Now waiting for an appointment with a Mt. Sinai doctor in SEPTEMBER !!
THERE ARE TWO BILLING DEPARTMENTSI have been going to this center for over a year and have received misleading information from the billing departments on more than one occasion. For a recent procedure, I was called and quoted a co-pay amount. I paid the co-pay before the procedure. Afterward, I received additional bills from NYU which totaled 3 times the amount of the original quote. I contacted billing via myChart and received flippant answers that there was more than one billing department and reminding me that I had signed a financial responsibility form (of course I did so based on the information that presented to me by the facility). However, they neglected to explain to me at any stage prior to the procedure that there was more than one billing department to contact. I learned from my insurance company that they had given all of the information about the co-pays and coverage to the person who had called me with the original quote. When I asked the billing departments why she gave me incomplete information, they said she was only responsible for their portion of the bill. When I call, I get bounced back and forth between the two billing departments as each says my issue is the others responsibility. This is frustrating and creating a financial burden. Also, be advised that for most doctors at the center there is a two-month wait for an appointment. While this may be acceptable for someone scheduling routine check-ups, it is ill-advised for anyone experiencing acute conditions. Scheduling was so difficult that I had to repeat medication before seeing the next specialist. Conclusion: The doctors are knowledgeable, personable, and lovely but the logistical hurdles of scheduling and billing make this a difficult place to seek medical care.
This center is a model of excellence for primary care and all the specialists Ive seen. Dr. Behar is one of the kindest, most responsive, out of the box internists Ive ever met and all procedures -- sonograms, bloods, colonoscopies, PT, etc. are done on premise. Ive never seen such a beautiful, calm, well orchestrated patient experience tailored for women. As my docs retire, I will replace them with ones that are here. Everyone Ive met including office staff, nurses, physical therapists, etc. have been both incredibly good and kind. It is a jewel.
Frond desk staff is rude. Always have to wait longer. I was 15 min late for my appointment as I commute from New Jersey and they just cancelled my appointment without Dr. seeing me.Doctor doesn’t show much concerned about patients as well and no affection or bonding towards patient.
This facility is very modern, clean, and the majority of the staff is very friendly. Dr. Dardik at this office is an amazingly nice doctor. She took her time, answered all of my questions, and had a great bedside manner. Her staff was also very personable and friendly. The only negative part of my whole visit was when I had to visit the lab to get blood drawn. The receptionists at the 4th floor lab were VERY rude, they were chatting when another patient and I entered the receptionist area, and didnt greet us or even acknowledge us at all. Then when I said when I greeted them, one of them looked up at me as though I had inconvenienced them by interrupting their conversation, and told me to Wait a second. She typed something in the computer, and after about a minute, without looking at me at all, only said Last name? and when I answered, responded Go have a seat. No please, no Thank you, no smile, no eye contact. I found their attitudes and behavior very disappointing after I had just had such a pleasant experience in the doctors office.
Wonderful doctors office, associated with NYU. If you have an option, you will be more satisfied here then at any other NYU medical facilities. Doctors are wonderful, and the staff are clearly hand picked to provide the best of care. After my first visit on 84th, I regretted spending so much time, not going out of my way to the upper East side. And to top it off, they provide a parking at $10 a visit.
I may have been racially profiled. It was my first day when I entered the lobby. The security guard asked the girl in front of me for her destination. He proceeded to ask me the same question, left his post and got on the elevator with me!!!!! He got off on the same floor and did not seem to have a destination himself. The incident threw me off guard because I was suffering from pain. I have to go back for follow-up procedures and I will report this behavior if it happens again.
I’m a patient at NYU Womens center. I called because I need an appointment with a gynecologist. They said one doctor isn’t taking new patients and the other isn’t available until October. This clinic is a joke! What kind of women’s center doesn’t have a gynecologist available?
DO NOT GO FOR PT. I WENT FOR ONE SESSION...IN NETWORK...WAS CHARGED $841....YES $841 FOR ONE VISIT....30 MINUTES AND THE YOUNG PT ASKED ME QUESTIONS AND HAD ME WALK ACROSS THE FLOOR. AND DO LEG LIFTS TOLD ME TO GO TO A NUTRITIONIST. TOTAL SCAM WHEN I CALL THEM TO DISCUSS THE BILL THERE IS NO ONE TO TALK TO AND THEY DONT KNOW ANYTHING. TOTAL SCAM

2020-12-30This clinic has all the best amenities. The employee is very professional and I had a comfortable procedure here.Location: the clinic is located Upper East side, easy access to 86th street train station. The clinic is super clean and lot of seatings in the patient waiting area. Social distancing is implemented.Checkin: You have to check in on the first floor where they check your temperature then depends what procedure you have they will let you know which floor.Employee: Dr. Poppers is very professional, explains well the procedure and after care. After the procedure, he will visit you in the recovery area and will tell you initial findings. Nurse Malou was very caring, she calmed my nerves before the procedure and assures you that everything will be fine.Definitely will do all my future procedures here. The clinic is clean and the employees are very professional and kind.

2022-08-01Langone Women’s Health on East 84th Street - OBGYN Raquel Dardik, is arrogant, rude, has no real concern for patient’s welfare as she seems to be in a hurry to do other things not concerning the patient in pain in front of her.If you are trying to find answers or a diagnosis for your symptoms, I would not recommend her. Her diagnostic skills are poor, she does not fully remember your medical history, and she will give up on finding out what is wrong with you, with no next steps forward. She knows how to prescribe and read medical tests (something a computer or AI can do as well), but she fails as a diagnostician. Also, her bedside manner is very poor, and her empathy is low, which, in combination with her poor diagnostic skills, makes this a doctor I would never recommend to anyone.

2021-12-06Had to schedule a procedure. I didn’t see it in my mychart account, so I called a couple of days before to check and make sure it was still on the schedule. They said that sometimes procedures here don’t go on mychart. However, I was confirmed. The day before my procedure (on a Sunday), they called to ask me some final questions before my appointment. I asked to confirm the appointment and they had trouble finding the time but finally noted that it was all set. Get to the office an hour before my appointment as they asked me to, to find that in fact, it was not set and that they didn’t have me definitively booked for the appointment. This procedure required me to fast and to take a medicine prior to the procedure, resulting in a very sleepless night. Finally, they told me that everything was set, after 40 minutes of sitting there wondering if I would even get this done today. 30 minutes later, they told me that the appointment actually could be delayed till 11am, 2 hours after the actual time I set up and 3 hours after I came in. My husband, who I had picking me up, now has to clear his schedule to pick me up at a later time. The sheer incompetence of this office is astounding.

2022-01-26Only went here once, and only dealt with nurses & reception staff, but for what it’s worth - I’ve been to a lot of the NYU/NYU affiliated doctors offices in Manhattan and Brooklyn, and this one definitely had the most positive energy & good vibes, helpfulness, etc.

2021-09-23I am appalled at the service I received from the gynecologist, RaquelDardik. I am having a problem which may or not end in uterine cancer, and she suggested I endure an endometrial biopsy. I did not want to endure this. I have decided not to do anything. That is my decision.I never got a phone call from her or anyone working in that department.I find that so callous and improper that I wanted to report it. I will, of course, never go back to her and have told my friends not to go near her office. Not only is she cold and unfeeling but all the secretaries are the same.

2021-05-25Made a new patient appt 2 months ago, completed the new patient paperwork, and two days before the scheduled appointment I receive a cancel call stating that no new patients are being accepted. Really? What was in my new member paperwork that led me to be dropped? I am not young nor am I old. Feeling passed up because of my age. I was very happy to stumble on a Women’s Health Center associated with NYU. I guess if you are a twenty something young lady living in the UES you wouldbe a good fit.

2020-12-17I love NYU Langone and I recently tried out this center at 84th street, to see gynecologist Dana Gossett on the fourth floor. The facility is beautiful; the billing process was seamless, and the doctor is an absolute gem. Yes, I had to make an appointment far in advance, but it was worth the wait. Dr Gossett was understanding, patient, and thoroughly empathetic and cool. I’m going back in three weeks for an IUD. Ignore the bad reviews; I’m certainly glad I did!
