Our minds had been stuck on the 2023 Sportage. So we debated….. Plaza, Karp, or Starks. Took us a full week to think about it. We work hard for our money so they better treat us right!!! Long story short we end up reading the Google reviews and making a final decision. No appointment, 3 pm, on a Friday were headed to see Damian from John Starks Kia and are driving out Sportage under us. (Couldn’t tell us any different). We arrived and no lie from the very first step inside. Every single good thing we read about was coming to life. The receptionist was inviting, no one was pushy, we explained we were looking for Damian (who was with a customer) and it wasn’t a problem. We looked about. Got in and out of cars. And were greeted by a 6’6” ear-to-ear smiling black man that began the journey and was completely respectful, inviting, caring, aware, and completely unbothered we bought our two young kids with us. (If you have kids you understand how important that is. In 2022 people act as if you bought roaches into the house when you gotta handle adult S@&! with your kids with you.) okay fast forward to the next day and reality hits us. Our loan went left and we had to pivot. This is where John Starks Kia begins to shine. Not just as one but as a whole. Its Saturday on Fourth of July weekend and the place is packed. Ppl are everywhere and we are smack dab in the middle of a huge decision. We can’t get the Sportage. Our feelings are doing jumping jacks. Cue an entire car dealership behaving like actual humans. The financial officer Greg had a real convo with us. (You know the kind you get from ya boy when you need a dose of reality but only he can give it) The General Manager takes his time to talk to us and over the timeframe of an hour or so, Damian and the team work are pure magic. No, we didn’t leave with the Sportage but we honestly were happy with the decision. We didn’t feel hustled, lied to, or any of the typical words associated with a car dealership. If they were running game call me Jenny from the block because its smooth. Lol JK. There are actual Genuine folks at JSK! They take their time, and really have people in mind first. If you got this far stop wasting time. Head there and speak to Damian. Tell him this exact review is what got you there and enjoy a car buying experience like no other. Where you are treated like a human and not a transaction. (Pssst… Damian has a mean sweet tooth. Don’t tell him we told you)
I have been a long time Customer of Hyuandai and Kia. When I first started my car shopping I started when Jack the GM was over at Potamkin Hyuandai. That was a solid 7 years ago. Jack was able to assist me with getting in to not just my 1st car but my 2nd car too.. fast forward and well.. ironically I am now apart of the Kia family. I stumbled across John Starks Kia because I was born and raised in Queens and I’ve been bouncing around trying to figure out which dealer would offer me not just the best deal but honor the customer loyalty. I called John Starks Kia and who answers the phone? Jack! I instantly recognized his voice and he told me come in that he would assist with my trade ! When I walked in he instantly promised to work on helping me get the best out of my customer loyalty! He linked me to Damian Corbett who was so patient, humble, and detailed. They were honest and really exceeded the expectations for their customers. The dealership that I originally bought my Kia from shot me down with all my wants as a customer who loves riding a Kia.I was discouraged and disappointed. Upgrading to a bigger vehicle was essential for our family of 7. Damian was knowledgeable and positive minded while I was nervous AF. When they start talking numbers that feels scary. Lol but as promised they stood true to every word and made it happen! They put me in a beautiful telluride! My ride is beautiful ! I am thankful for all the time they put in to our trade. Let’s not forget Steve! He ended our car trade with lots of conversation filled with humor and still handles business! The person who help get our car ready I did not catch his name but they were all great to work with. I am so happy to have stumbled across John Starks Kia! I am happy to be apart of the Kia family In Queens. I will be making sure their service department takes care of my truck! Can’t thank you all enough!

My father and I visited Kia Starks and when we entered they were very friendly and accommodating. We went straight to the point when having conversations with Damian and the dealership even provided us a very fair price and gave us discounts for our offer. When we took out the car from the lot it was very well taken care of no scratches or anything that was not visually appealing. Definitely will buy again from this store for my 2nd car. This is just a review for the service department. I scheduled an appointment for an oil change, maintenance inspection and to check a warning light on my 2021 Kia Forte GT. Henry and his service team were absolutely fantastic, made the whole process smooth, friendly and extremely professional. Ive been to a lot of mechanics and Ive never left any appointment feeling so respected and relieved. Im very glad I found Henry to take care of my Kia and highly recommend them to anyone else. A+ service and most importantly, they explained the issue with the warning light with pictures and fixed it! Thanks Henry and crew!
I was on the market looking for an affordable car and Damian helped me with drive away with a Kia Rio. Damian was straight up from the first phone call till the final sale. The staff at John Starks Kia was welcoming and I had a pleasant experience from when I made an appointment online all the way until I received the keys to my 2022 K5. I would like to give a special shout out to Serge. Serge was professional, helpful and very patient. His customer service was outstanding, he made me feel comfortable with my decision and he explained everything to me thoroughly. I’m very satisfied with my car, and I will definitely recommend John Starks Kia to my family and friends, and I will tell them to ask for Serge!
My lease was already extended and was coming due and I wanted to trade in my Sorento for a new one. No Kia dealers had any inventory except for John Starks Kia. Josue my sales rep and Mike the sales manager were great!! They listened to me and worked with me to get me a deal I was happy with. I would not hesitate to go back there. This is a real solid dealership, from the salesmen to the finance department. You cant go wrong with John Starks KIA. Ive browsed plenty of dealerships and I know how frustrating it could be with the hassles of car shopping. Good news is, there are still good & HONEST people out there. I was able to purchase my first KIA Forte GT with the help of Damian C. who is a straight forward and extremely helpful individual. Great person all around and would recommend him in a heartbeat. He made my experience hassle free and conformed to my budget!! Also, I cant forget about Steve from the finance department who helped finalize my purchase with great hospitality and professionalism. I want to tell you about my experience with this location THE BEST CUSTOMERS SERVICE EVER !!! I dealt with Jack, David, & Steve and they all are what true service is about this type of service is what’s missing from all other dealerships I’ve dealt with. I am forever a customer and so will be my friends and family. I swear I kept waiting for some type of hiccup or something because the service was too good to be true but it was! I have been through many dealerships in the Queens and Long Island area, but John Starks KIA is by far the best. The customer service was phenomenal. My salesman was Sergio, who was prompt with communication and was welcoming like the entire staff. Those two attributes were instrumental in us landing the sought-after Kia Telluride. We didnt know we were the first customers to purchase at the dealership. This was a milestone we were glad to take in part. We met with John Starks, who was extremely kind and appreciative of our business. If you are interested in KIA cars, John Starks is the dealership.
Firstly, let’s start off with Alondra. She notified us when the vehicle came in and kept constant communication throughout the entire process. She was such a nice individual. She made us feel like close friends.Secondly the salesman Allen was very professional while also being very friendly. He went out his way to help us understand the vehicle better and the process of it all. He didn’t hesitate to go back and forth to help us out.Lastly the finance manager Steve, he was extremely cool. He helped us out in many ways and explained every step through the bank and payment process. He explained to us the best route to utilize our money while also explaining credit. He also had a few jokes which was cool.Overall this whole process was much better than any other car sale I’ve been part of. Everyone was very transparent and easy going. I didn’t feel like I was being taken for ride. Everything was as straight forward as I could have wanted. I always said after my last lease I’ll never deal with salesman again, however after dealing with the team from John Starks Kia I wouldn’t mind procuring another vehicle.

I honestly can say after walking out of there I’ve never been to a better dealership. Great people with great customer service. I got to interact with Steve and he was very professional/respectful. I wish we could’ve been able to get a deal but we could not. I’ll definitely keep this place in mind for future considerations and will be recommending it to my friends and family. Another plus is that for anyone who’s in a Honda lease and trying to get out of it; this place is able to do that.
We had an overall positive experience at John Starks Kia. Damian C. reached out to me because my current lease was about to end and although I was going to purchase my Kia, we decided to have a look. We had looked around for new lease options prior to visiting this dealership, but we were disappointed with the prices and options available. I visited John Starks Kia services because I needed it to change the oil, a headlight, and wipers of my car. I was assisted by Henry the service consultant. The service was amazing. They worked on my car right away. Everything was done in a timely manner and they even cleaned my car. I highly recommend this Kia service center.

My apologies for the late review. My wife and I purchased a Kia Forte in early 2022. It was hands down the best experience weve ever had at a dealership! Our sales man, Orlando was wonderful as was everyone we dealt with. We purchased the car right smack in the middle of a snow storm. Even though everyone wanted to get home, we didnt feel rushed. They did everything the could to do right by us. Now, about the car....My wife named it KITT, Knight Rider. We cant get over all of the safety features etc.I hope whom ever reads this review and is on the fence.... Jump off! You wont regret purchasing from John Starks Kia!

John Starks Kia is the best Kia dealership in NYC, Long Island, and Westchester County. I have previously been a BMW driver; however, after extensive research, I have discovered that Kia has trumped the other brands (BMW, MERCEDES, LEXUS, HONDA, TOYOTA, and NISSAN).Even with the Market adjustment, I. view Kia as a superior product. Kia as a brand that is. Which led me to opt for a KIA. I then went to the other local dealers Kia dealers, and the treatment was subpar. I found the sales people to lack product knowledge, care, humility, and honesty or a combination of it all.I then found John Starks Kia and had a fantastic experience. Damian Corbett provided excellent customer service. He was extremely friendly, open, honest, and reliable. The Sales Manager Mike was outgoing as well.Overall I give John Starks Kia a 10.

After 3 dealerships that I knew of told me they have very low inventory and non of them have any Kia souls. I googled Kia near me and John Starks Kia came up. I called and a salesperson told me they have a lot full of cars and 5 Kia Souls. We went down a n d there is was a 2022 Kia Soul Turbo GT-Line in Red. The salesman and the rest of the staff were very professional, honest with no gimmicks. We took it home. Thank you John Starks.

Came to this dealership solely based on the amazing reviews and the continuous mention of salesman Damian & there arent enough stars to express my experience with this dealer. I had already been to Kia of Huntington in the search for my new Sportage Hybrid, but the service there was nothing compared to the service here. I called beforehand, specifically asked for Damian and informed him of the exact car I was looking to lease in the next couple of months. He took all of my information and right off the bat he let me know that I could have the exact vehicle I was describing by the end of the month. That same day I went down to the dealership to discuss numbers and nothing offered was extremely unreasonable. We came to an agreement after being there only an hour, if that. The process was smooth, not pressuring, and very easy. Not only was Damian accommodating and respectful, he was always responsive through his personal phone or email and even took time out of his day to transfer my plates since the DMV employees had left for the day when I picked up my vehicle. I appreciate you Damian for everything that youve done & I couldnt be happier in my new 2023 Sportage Hybrid! Go to this dealer, you wont regret it!

Hands down, best Kia dealership in the tristate area. We’ve been looking for a Kia Carnival for a few months now (we’ve already been through majority of the dealerships in the tristate area), but it’s been I’m possible to get ahold of one. We worked with Damian, whom made the impossible possible. He made every step in the purchasing process very quick and easy. As soon as the car became available, he gave us a call and started/finished the work ups prior to our arrival - we signed and walked out in 40 MINUTES with our new beautiful carnival. The experience I had at this location was everything in a best case senario. I feel the process is very transparent, legal verbiage was explained for my understanding, and at no point did I feel pressured or rushed to sign/agree upon anything. I am tremendously pleased with the service and interactions I had with Alondra DeLeon. She is very knowledgeable and kept me up to date every step of the way. She is a huge asset to John Starks Kia and I hope she gets the recognition she deserves. Allen was also great. Lastly, Steve’s hard work and passion for advocating on the behalf of the client is such a breath of fresh air. Working with these individuals made the car buying experience remarkable and I would do it all over again!

This is the type of dealership 5 Star ratings were made for. Though they really deserve 10 Stars! I went to a few dealers looking for my new lease and all were the same. What do you want to pay? You tell them, then they come back with some ridiculous number and price markup. Not John Starks Kia. I stopped in Sunday, met with Josue, told him the car I was looking for and what I wanted to pay per month. He listened to all my concerns and he and Jack were able to get me into my new Sportage lease for great terms. I could not be happier. My only disappointment is that I wasted time at other dealers. John Starks Kia should have been my first stop. And it will be going forward. Thanks again to Josue, Jack, and the entire staff for a great experience.
Horrible service! Will never forget this day, I never had such a bad experience at a car dealership...ever! Everyones busy on their cell phones. My husband came in looking for a particular model, which their site specifically states they had in stock, drive all the way there only to find out its sold, and told that theres low productivity on that model and that its not going to be back until 2023...what a crock of nonsense! Then I asked another rep for the next nearest Kia he said he didnt know, asked if I was working with someone else, which we werent, then said he didnt know any other Kia nearby or their inventory. The first person who tried helping was so busy on the phone that he didnt even take a minute to see if we needed any other help with any other vehicle. So bad for business. Their loss. We ended up driving literally 1.5 hrs to another Kia in South Shore in Long Island who had excellent customer service and the rep was beyond helpful in more ways than one, very nice, although he had several other customers he was helping, he still kept checking in with us. They didnt have the exact model we wanted, but told us when they were getting one in, if we wanted a specific option how soon we could get it. Dont waste your time here, unless you want poor customer service!
New Kia Car 2022 Sorento basic modelI used to have the following features:1)When u walk up to ur car and when ur hand touches handle the car automatically opens2) Push start engine3) Push button to open trunk4) heated seats5) dual temp control6) cigarette lighter 12 V charging station7) auto hold8) sun blocks in rear windows9) when reversing car usually makes noise to notify you of other vehicles and Kia basic model doesn’t!Plus a few other stuff 😟Feels like I took a few steps backwards in time of like 7 yrs cuz my last 2 veh’s of 2015 & 2017 had all these features above and now my new 2022 Basic model Kia doesn’t.So therefore with this vehicle I am missing all the features I mentioned above and seems all I paid for was to have 3 rows.I even called dealership to ask if I can pay to have some of these features added to my car and I was told the manufacturer Kia does not offer those add ons.I called dealership to complain and they offered to switch it out to a better model but that cost would go up $9k meaning instead of $422 car note it would go up to $569 and so not worth it. Better off keeping this Basic model vehicle and switching it out 2 or 3 yrs from now when market is better because Kia vehicles def do hold their value.Car is good and drives nice just not use to missing all the features my older cars had and I should not have assumed a 2022 vehicle had all these features. Guess will take time and with the market right now I am very lucky to have gotten this car. So I will have to adjust.Sale rep was good but wasn’t able to test drive vehicle due to parking lot being so cramped and crowded. Next time I won’t make these mistakes.Natasha H
Went to return my 2019 Kia Sorento . At first I wanted the telluride but realIzed how big it was parking in NYC is ridiculous. Damian showed me a 2022 Sorento fully loaded and he did not steer me in the wrong direction . He introduced me to the Kia Access app and took his time showing me the features of the car .. I’m very satisfied with my 22 Sorento .
My boyfriend has been researching to buy an EV for the last few months and we finally decided to check out dealerships in-person to see what they had in store. I had a great experience with John Starks Kia when obtaining a lease for a 2022 Kia Sorrento X-Line. The finance person honored the word of their awesome sales people, David and Josue. Ive dealt with many dealerships over the years and have almost always felt like I was not dealing with an honorable company. Not so with John Starks Kia. Be clear about what you understand your deal to be and they will either correct you if you have it wrong or honor the arrangement. What more can you ask for really, right? I know where Im going for my familys next Kia.P.S. The new Sorrento X-Line with the rust color interior is everything. Love the look and performance already.

Rude, dismissive sales person who immediately dismissed what I was looking for and literally shooed me with their hand while walking away. If that is how a potential customer is treated, then don’t waste your time going in. There are many other dealerships that will treat you better and get your business. Went to another location and found what I was looking to buy there.
I want to thank Joe,David, Jack & all the guys at John Starks Kia who were very patient and always communicated with me about getting my 2022 K5 .They are very professional and made me feel like family. I would definitely recommend them to everyone who’s looking for a car.
Im not really sure how much more praise you can give to the 2 gentlemen that helped me out that day, but I would put David and Jack up there at the tippy top. I called up and said I had a down payment at another dealer, but they didnt have the color I wanted, but you guys do on your site. Came in later that day and David had the car pulled and washed, ready to go. Also got the car for MSRP (which in this day is quite literally a sale since the other dealers were charging $1k, $2k and more over MSRP). The deal did take a bit long to finalize, but that is to be expected. Car is amazing and totally recommend this place to anybody looking for a KIA.
This dealership has stellar customer service. It started from the parking to the end of the sale. I did not feel like the salesperson was trying to get a sale out of me. In matter of fact, he worked with me to help rebuy my car. He knew my budget and steered me to the right direction . He made sure I got the best customer service. Thank you Damian youre the best.

I was online shopping for a lease end option, I seen JohnStark Kia was opening and they had the Sorento I wanted. I inquired online and not a day later I received a call from Josue. He asked for all my comments and concerns and understood the position I came from. That same day I went to see him and Jack and sealed the deal. I gravitated to them because they were big on family and that was important to me. New location, new staff, minor bumps on the road but we got it done. Bought my new Kia here few weeks ago. I dont usually say stuff like this, especially about car dealers but it was amazing. No pressure, no tricks, no trying to sell you stuff you didnt want or need. Ive bought more than a dozen new cars and never had such a wonderful experience. Cant say enough about my salesman and the manager who got personally involved to make sure everything was perfect. 2022-05-17John Starks Kia is the dealership you want to visit, and Damian Corbett is the person you want to handle your transaction.I went in to buy a Telluride, the place was extremely busy, and the receptionist looked for someone to help me. She pointed me to Damian who told me the vehicle was not available. I was leaving disappointed then He began to advise me on the benefits of going electric. A few days later and numerous conversations, I decided to go electric and purchased a 2022 Niro. And I am extremely happy!The entire staff at John Starks Kia deserve 5 stars.

Came in for a stroll without an appointment and left with a new vehicle all thanks to Henry and the manager Jack. 2022-04-20Went to John Starks Kia last week and had a wonderful and painless experience at the dealership. Getting a car is usually a daunting and all day affair, but David made everything so easy for us. They asked us what we were looking for and made sure to stay in budget for us which made us feel more comfortable. It should be noted that the dealership is very clean with a welcoming atmosphere. We were met with positivity from every working there, and never once felt forced to purchase a car! They also made sure to clean the car for us and when they saw even the smallest smudge of dirt or sticker mark on the car. They went out of their way to make sure we left with a smile on our face and a feeling of content! If we need another car we will definitely be going back to this dealership!

2022-05-10I travelled up from suburban Philadelphia because I found that they had the EV6 in the trim and color that I wanted at a price I liked. Damian, who was the salesperson I met through a Facebook group had great communication even sending me messages well outside of business hours. He made it so that when I arrived everything was in place and the purchase process was smooth. John Starks Kia is an A+ operation.

2022-03-08We were looking to upgrade to a new Kia model, after 16 years with our Kia Optima, it was time. We have visited other car dealerships, and to no avail, they didn’t have what we were looking for. We found out John Starks had a dealership and decided to check it out, because we are fans, and he is a man of integrity and was confident that his business would reflect the same.The minute we walked into the dealership, we were greeted by a friendly receptionist who wanted to know how she could assist us, then a friendly salesman named Eddy greeted us and listened to what we were looking for. He was knowledgeable and very engaging, and it felt like we were old friends catching up. Absolutely felt no pressure to buy.Every point of contact with personnel was positive, from sales, to store management, to the finance department. Shout outs to Eddy, David, Steve, Michael, and Jack for making the entire process seamless.The picture below is the day we met John Starks, it was totally unexpected and a nice surprise or else we would have dressed better, lol. The manager asked if we would like to meet John and we of course jumped at the opportunity. John welcomed us, shook our hands and he thanked us for coming in.
