jojo Bistro & Wine Bar - Webster in other cities:
I have eaten at this restaurant many, many times. Will probably not go back again! The waiter that took over after we sat down wore his mask below his chin the whole time. I saw him talking to the manager with his mask below his chin and nothing was said. I called up to talk to her and her reply to me was… Babysitting is not part of my job!!! Great attitude for a manager!😳🙄
Very disappointed in this restaurant. They were not overly crowded, so that cannot be used as rationale. 4 of us were seated and we ordered a bottle of wine. We asked the waitress if it was a dry or semi-dry Riesling and she told us semi-dry. First she broke the cork off in the bottle, then came back with an opened bottle and just began pouring. No taste test as an upscale restaurant normally does. She poured everyones glass from one side of the table and the bottle kept dripping all over the table and the sides of the glasses. The wine itself was extremely sweet and not good at all.Three of us ordered steaks. The chef apparently does not understand the rare, medium, medium-well and well done concept of cooking meat. The 3 of us that ordered steaks asked for medium-well to well. The steaks came and they were rare to raw (swimming in blood juice on the plate). They were sent back. They cooked new pieces of meat and again they came to the table rare. My husband finally said to the manager, just throw them back on the grill. They return and apparently this time they were thrown in a microwave. No taste, still not done correctly, parts of the steaks were rare and part well done and the weirdest texture I have ever experienced in my life. The 3 of us did not eat our meals. The food was awful, with exception to the wedge salad. While the manager did the right thing and comp the meals, the attitude was horrible. Very rude like we were the ones that caused the problem. The waitress was obviously very inexperienced in being a waitress. We would not go back there ever again. BTW, we did calculate what the entire check would have been and left a 20% tip for what the bill should have been.Terribly disappointing.
Wonderful Evening - Our server Justine was AWESOME! It was 4 couples and we had the big table in front by the window and we all did separate checks & ordered lots of drinks and she accommodated us 100%!! Our Wedge Salad was huge (enough for 2!!) but our pizza (the special) was not what we expected (red pepper sauce was actually buffalo wing hot sauce flavor) and it was dry! Justine did right by us and got us a replacement, which was not expected!! 3 couples had the pizza and none were impressive. One was burnt, the other undercooked all were dry. HOWEVER, the Grilled Shrimp Appetizer, Pork Chop, Grilled Romaine & Salmon were spot on!!!Again our server Justine made the night!
Very disappointed. The service was so-so and we felt rushed through our entire visit. There was a party of 10 adjacent to our table who had ordered another round of drinks but were rushed through as well. Our glasses were whisked away even though we were clearly not done. The lights came on indicating “we’re done here”. Very rude ending. Not sure we’ll return. Our party of 5 has been raving about this place for awhile but since you were closed for a couple of weeks early September, it’s changed…not for the good. Even the music was annoying. Sorry - but thought you should know. ☹️ Where’s Hannah?? Really missed her!!!
The new chefs nightly specials are a great addition to an already excellent menu. The chef does a superb job with all the seafood dishes, and rivals the quality to which I was accustomed when I lived in Boston. The bartender creates some magnificent specialty drinks, and the service is always outstanding.
Smallish menu for entrees, they do have sandwiches and salads as well. We got Raclette for appetizer which was awesome, not too filling but tasty till dinner came. Then scallops and chicken milanese entrees. Well prepared and good. They also have beer wine and cocktails on the menu. Also very good piped music. Dinners are (+,-) $20 plus drinks.
Greatest meal I have ever had!! Price was well worth it. It wasn’t overly expensive. Went with a group of friends and had for an appetizer; Chefs Toast, Calamari, and Mussels all were fantastic! For my entree I had the Pork chop which was amazing! I tried my friends Salmon and loved it. Wish I got that! My wife got pizza and was good. Service was all around friendly and professional! They definitely put the needs of their customers first. The only downfall was the beer selection could use some work. I am a locally loyal guy and would have liked to see some choices from our Genesee Brewery. Great spot! I am glad this place is in the Village of Webster. All in all hands down my favorite place and can’t wait to go back.
Cant say enough about this place. My wife and I had our first real night out since Covid began over a year ago on 5/15 and we decided to give Jojo a try. The drinks were great and the food blew us away! We savored every single bite of what we had. We were so impressed that we booked a table again for tonight and have been talking all day about our date this evening at Jojo. I can highly recommend the Cajun Chicken.
Recently visited. My father and I arrived at approximately 4:20 on a Wednesday. Two women were seated at the bar. The rude bartender greeted us with an attitude. She wanted to know if we had reservations. There was no one in the place. She told us to go wait over near some table. A waitress greeted us , by taking us to the smallest table over near a wall. The table wouldnt be able to seat more than one person. I asked her about a nearby booth. She told me it was reserved. The waitress was horrible. The food was even worse. Decided to try the Jojo burger. It was the worst burger ever. This place is no better than the closed predecessor. Do yourself a favor and try anywhere else. This place is a joke.
Met friends at JoJo’s last night and a fabulous dinner and service it was! Calamari appetizer was almost a meal in itself. A must is their dessert of fried dough with gelato and caramel sauce.Extremely relaxed atmosphere a plus. Definitely a return to dining experience 👍
What a great experience! I ordered the JoJo burger for my husband and steak for myself. We also had the Reclatta and the shrimp appetizers and everything was terrific. Great portions, seasoned well and ready on time when I got there so it didnt get cold!! Go get yourself some Jojos for supper!!!
Please ignore Scott L’s vindictive review. We were witnesses to his tantrum and rude behavior. It is always best to make a reservation, particularly if you have a special seating request. Other people do. Walk-ins should expect some additional inconveniences in these Covid times, where reservations are staggered to comply with spacing requirements, and a restaurant that looks empty to you may be booked to its legal capacity. The waitress was polite and attentive and should be commended for her grace in dealing with a difficult customer.
Very good food. Good service, too! Very pretty place. Good atmosphere, but it was a little chilly in there. Parking right behind the restaurant. If youre handicapped, have someone drop you off out front. Otherwise, youll have to walk up a staircase. Prices were a little on the high side. I ordered a wood-fired pizza and prosecco. With tip it came to $28 and change.
Been here a couple times, the place is phenomenal for the most part. The blonde pizza guy is the OG at making you feel comfortable while waiting. Unfortunately though, I constantly hear what seems to be the executive chef screaming at said employees. Someone needs to let him know that hes not Gordon Ramsay and that the ego isnt needed with such great employees
It was a Sunday night, 6pm-ish dinner decision to try a new place. We were seated promptly and offered drinks even more promptly. Quiet and comfortable atmosphere. We never had to talk above a normal level to speak and listen. Ordered dinner. Steak Frites for her and Short Rib for me. Meals were incredible. Perfect flavor. And through it all Zara took incredible care of us. We will be back!!
I waited a long time excited for this place to open. Spent a large amount of money for very small amount of food. Sure, the food was delicious but I literally walked across the street to Webster hots after I left. If you have lots of money and a stomach the size of a pea then this is the place for you. If youre hungry, go elsewhere. Or order 2 dinners.
Long story short, Im leaving one star for my wifes blackened redfish, one star for our dope jojo dough, and one star for our pleasant server. The fish dish tasted okay. It was seasoned well, but there were only there small pieces that were slightly undercooked. The real travesty was what I ordered, the chicken malinese, which was cooked perfectly but had literally zero flavor. It had a really nice crunch when bitten, but I dont even think they seasoned with salt or pepper. I was really disappointed. In addition, the chicken entree consisted of one flattened breast topped with a few mixed greens. Not enough food for a real entree. What saved the meal was the jojo dough dessert. It was by far better than our entrees and bigger than both combined. Props for that.
We got there and waited 15 to 20 minutes for someone to even bring us water. A ton of waitresses walked right by us never looked at us, never looked at our table. We ordered ,I had the redfish which was awful, the taste was awful, the fish was cold, I can’t remember what my husband ordered but he looked at me and said do you like your food and I said no and he said I don’t either.

2022-06-23My son and I had a great dinner at Jojos. Wait staff was very friendly and helpful. Was a quick dinner but very interesting flavors. I plan to return and do a better job. Both items were on the specials menu. They had a great selection of wine and a decent selection of craft beers on tap.

2021-08-23This was my wifes and my first time here since it used to be prime. The entire restaurant has been totally remodeled inside with so much more natural lighting and seating capacity. Our server was Justine who was just great. Our order consisted of was baked clams, calamari, long island iced tea, special braised short ribs, mac & cheese special trout, and bees knees. Price-wise I would say $$ but you get what you pay for. Everything was absolutely delicious. The short ribs melted in my mouth. I definitely recommend going here. A great Jem in Webster N.Y.

2021-12-05It’s good, not great. We wish for so much more from this great location, especially because it’s located right in our beautiful village. The service was good, not great. They seated us in the back room which was nice, but not great.I had one of the specials, Pappardelle with shrimp. It was okay, not great. The red sauce was lacking some flavor and the pasta was kinda sticky. This is my second review of Jojo’s and still hoping for “great”. Maybe next time.

2022-07-15I love this restaurant. The food is amazing, very kind staff, and a great atmosphere. It’s great to have all of this however I’ve emailed the restaurant several times in the last few weeks through their website. I’ve left my email, a phone number, and what I thought was a very sincere/kind message and have been waiting for a email or phone call back. I then inquired again a week later and still have received no response. As a company with repeat customers you should work hard to respond to people and not leave them hanging in the dust. I’m actually very surprised by this. When the owner responds and actually reads this I’ll remove my review. This may seem small to everyone but it is professional curtesy to get neck to your customers.

2022-04-20The two real disappointment is the choice of steak.Love filet mignon because it is tender.Skirt steak terrible..tough! Sirloin isnt tender either....place also is not very clean its so so .will try again but will wait for awhile because with covid things are crazy and maybe why its not clean because of staff shortage🤔
