I recently visited for the first time. The park is very clean and the amenities bare decent. One thing I find annoying is the lack of a liquor license, however other campers advised this is due to NY restrictions.Ive been to other campgrounds, and this one seemed a bit more reasonably priced. The little store has everything you would need to camp, in case you forget something. One suggestion would be the ability to add food items from the cafe into your tab, and make one payment as you check out.
When i read they had a cafe and a pool, it was all i really needed, in that order. The cafe, turns out, prepares great food with a friendly, entertaining staff. After a day at the pool, i showered in their immaculately clean facilities, had, like i said, a great dinner at the cafe, Played bingo which was fun (won twice which made it all the more fun) Then they started the dance, they have a significant sound system and light show with an older man DJing and mixing (very well) the old dance hits. At the same time they had a great big well attended community bonfire that took us to 1am.You wont make it in or out without meeting the owners, very sweet and kind, They bust their asses to provide a clean, fun experience for all.Its not expensive, i was just doing day use this time, $20 bucks in the door (weekend) Ice cold yuengling beer was 2 bucks a can from the camp store. I gorged myself with an A1 pepper burger, with crispy tater tots for $13.00 with tip from the cafe. Bingo was $5.00 for five games i bought two books so it cost me $10 bucks. walked away with $115.00 which would have been $225 had i payed closer attention. Obviously everyone wont win at bingo...All in all i dont know what more one could ask for. Will be back soon :)
My husband and I went to jones pond for MARDI GRAS WEEKEND we arrived there on Thursday August 2nd and set up our tent site went up to mingle and were met with the greatest of people we instantly made friends with Scott and David we wont forget to list auntie and papa. This was our first time doing anything like this and we had the greatest time and will definitely be back. The owners are completely hands on and welcome you with smiles. The cafe had fresh food and with great prices that wont break the bank everyone is super friendly I would recommend this camp ground for anyone it Is great and we cant wait to go back and we definitely will. THANK YOU JONES POND AND THANK YOU TO THE JONES POND SEASONALS FOR BEING THE BEST.See you all soonSincerely,Tim&Garrett
After having heard of this place for 5 years from Southern Tier locals who love gossip and rumors, I finally got out to Angelica and spent a couple of weekends at Jones Pond myself. I was absolutely shocked... at what I did not find there. When I arrived, the very first thing that happened was a warm greeting and welcome from the owners. They were extremely helpful and friendly to this new-comer. Check-in was a breeze and the gentleman in the camp store was equally pleasant and helpful. After getting a map tour of the resort (and yes, in my opinion this place deserves resort status over a mere campground) I settled in for one of the most positive and uplifting weekends of my life.Facilites-Pool/Hot tub: very nice. Plenty of sun chairs for tanning and lounging, a subtle sound system for ambiance, even a covered section off to the side so us smokers can enjoy the pool while keeping the area as a whole cleaner for everyone to enjoy.-Shower/Restrooms for non-RV campers: immaculate! Very pleasant, cozy, and readily available.-Cafe: most foodies would probably give this an average rating, but take into consideration that its a basic restaurant available for lunch/dinner at what is advertised as a campground, that it is staffed by extremely friendly folks, and has a decent variety on the menu that is not wildly overpriced, and it in my opinion has earned all 5 of the stars it deserves.-Hiking Trails: miles of them! Nothing too advanced, so they can be easily enjoyed by campers of all ages. Beautiful scenery, and the weekly Saturday Morning Walk is definitely worth waking up for (if it isnt raining of course. 😋)-The Barn: this is the main social area that doubles as an event center by day and dance club by night. Spacious combination of indoor/outdoor feel, with a substantial sound system and is constantly decorated to that weekends theme.-Free WiFi: yup, you read that right, free WiFi all over the park. Granted its stronger in some places than others but that is still seriously impressive for such a large park.Every weekend of the season is a different themed-party, so be sure to check out the schedule on their website so you can pick the weekends that suit your interests and have the best possible stay.I mentioned briefly near the beginning of my review that I was shocked at what I *didnt* find there. I will not dignify the rumors that I spent years hearing about Jones Pond by writing the details here, especially since they were and are spread mainly by close-minded bigots in an extremely conservative area of New York state. What I will say is this: after having spent a couple of weekends there, getting to know the owners, and hearing the stories and opinions of long time campers, I am truly impressed. Matt and Brian (owners) have spent years turning Jones Pond from the campground of rumors past into the clean, welcoming, and all-around amazing resort that it is today. I am truly excited to return this season, and many seasons to come! Thanks to you both for molding an environment where we can spend time having fun with like-minded individuals at such a beautiful place in such an unlikely region.Hope to see you all there this season!
Nice gay mens campground. Their online reservation system could be easier to use so one could see available sites opposed to making a request and entering your cc# and letting them call you later. Also their tent sites are in a huge field with no trees nor shade so no privacy and no shade so your tent is hot as hell at 7am. Maybe plant some trees in the field could help the campers and the environment.
Im looking forward to camping out and meeting new friends. The huge bonfire at night on the weekends is a big gathering of very friendly guys. The D.J. Could spin records anywhere being so good which really surprised me out in the country. WOW. JONES POND truly has something for everyone.
My partner and I didnt really know what to expect on our firat visit here but we have already talked about going again soon! We stayed in a tent site for two nights. while I do wish there was more shade on the sites, A shade canopy helped immensely and most of the two days we werent at our site anyway. All of the facilities are nice and updated, bathrooms are clean, showers have great water pressure. The cafe has great food if you dont feel like cooking and the pool was perfect during the hot day. What really the trip most memorable were the owners. When my partner and I arrived we realized our tent wasnt usable, when we went up to the store to ask where the nearest walmart was Matt and Bryan offered us their old tent instead. They really saved the trip!

2021-08-10It has been one day since leaving Jones Pond and we are itching to get back. It truly felt like a home away from home. A great community feel with pleasant, courteous people both guests and seasonals. Beautifully maintained grounds, a great sized pool, meticulous clean bathrooms, and fun planned events. The cafe on site is a treat! Delicious foods at a reasonable price, in case you didn’t want to cook. The owners take pride in this campground and it shows. If you are in area or looking for a gay campground to visit, look no further. Jones pond is truly a wonderful place to be.

2018-08-19This was our first visit to Jones Pond. The staff and owners were super friendly and helpful. The crowd is also very friendly and fun - lots of positive energy, and a strong sense of community at this campground. Facilities are very clean and placed conveniently. The pool, barn and cafe are close to the entrance to the campground. Cafe serves delicious food and is very well priced. They are a BYOB campground since the state of NY doesn’t allow campgrounds to hold liquor licenses. You can bring alcohol anywhere within the campground - no glass at the pool or barn.A nice perk is that they accept Canadian Dollar at par everywhere: you can pay at the cafe, store and even the camping fees in Canadian cash. The only exceptions are the reservation deposit, which is charged in advance, as well as bingo - those are in $US only.

2021-06-01I have been to Jones Pond twice. Both times were wonderful. I am in my 30s and I came alone my second time. I tent camped in the 500s and then the 600s as I prefer to be in the trees, but there are more open, communal, field tenting sites with water, fire pits and electrical. I enjoyed being able to charge my devices while still enjoying the woods.Everyone from he staff to the guests were insanely nice to be around. I brought my dog (who is trained and obedient/does not bark) and had no problems enjoying the property with him by my side (not in the pool or the restaurant).Unless I struck gold twice, I cant imagine anyone having less than a wonderful time here. The shop is stocked with all the things you will forget to pack and they can deliver wood right to your campsite if you dont have a vehicle proper to haul it.

2020-11-28I have been a camper at Jones Pond for multiple summers. The campground is stellar, the bathrooms are clean (with running water, showers, the whole nine yards) and the activities they plan are SUPERB including dances, Bingo, and so much more. I love that the space is clothing optional (I always opt for full nudity to embrace my inner nudist) and that everyone can feel comfortable wearing as little or as much as they wish. The pool is a great communal space to connect as is the various small gatherings that are hosted by individual campsites (some officially and some unofficially). The guys who visit Jones Pond are overwhelmingly kind, welcoming and fun. Youll find guys of all ages and a nice healthy mix of Canadians and Americans (its so awesome to share perspectives and get to know your neighbours). If anyone has other questions about Jones Pond, you are more than welcome to reach out to me personally on Instagram or Twitter as well and Im happy to help you out.

2019-02-19Ive come every season since my first visit. I look forward to it each year. Its such a friendly, fun, welcoming place. They do a great job at organizing events, especially on big holiday weekends. I love being able to go camping in the woods and then lounge by the pool, followed by an afternoon get together at someones site that the whole campground is invited to, and then head out for a drag show and a night of dancing if Im in the mood! The cafe is reasonably priced if I dont feel like bringing food. Theres not an overtly cruisey vibe here like I originally feared. This place is a gem.

2019-08-26Nice clean park with very clean showers with ample privacy if wanted. Friendly owners and staff. Lower creekside tenting sites can be a little wet if it has rained recently. Pool area is nice and they have a designated smoking area, yippie. Cafe food good and service very good. Very private park and most campers friendly. Barn/rec hall/dance club very nice.

2020-07-24Weekend events are fun. The people are so friendly and really make the place what it is. Currently, during the COVID pandemic, they are doing their best to keep things enjoyable while still following medical guidance on distancing, masks, etc.

2016-07-26We visited Jones Pond in July 2016 which was our first time visiting. As we pulled in, we were greeted by both owners, Matt and Brian (super friendly couple), made us feel like we were home! Providing a few tips for our week long stay. The pool was very well kept, cleaned regularly with lots of available chairs during the week, however on the weekend it was packed very few available seats. The Park offers an onsite cafe, open Friday, Saturday and Sunday - I never visited, however lots of people rant and rave about how good the food, I see this being a great option for someone looking to visit with a day pass or a tenter not looking to cook. The grounds offers some great walking trails, the main one (yellow trail) is longest and most used, section are wet the back of the tail as it is close to a swamp, my first time I was in sandals, wasnt the smartest move on my part.Overall I was extremely impressed with this resort, I will be back again and again and again. If I needed to pick something negative about this resort two things come to mind i) some road ways are washed out extremely rocky and was not easy to walk in sandals or flip flops. The owners have (based on other camps I talked with) made huge improvements on some on the roads, knowing that other campers are seeing improvements year over year tells me they are aware this is an area of improvement and are working on improving it. ii) I wasnt able to stay longer.

2019-08-14I never knew a place like this existed! It was beautiful and friendly from the second I stepped on the property! Guest bathrooms were immaculate and the campers were all very friendly! The WiFi was although horrible everything else made up for it! Will definitely be visiting for a second time and many more to come!
