Ordered fish over rice for lunch at 12:13 noon. They promised delivery between 12:55 and 1:05, however, the food was delivered at 1:40. This is after repeated calls with seamless and they refused to give any discount for inconvenience. The texture of the fish is like its been dead for at-least 5 years. Rice is undercooked. Never ordering from here again
I used to work a few blocks away. I still dream of this place. 5/5 some of the best indian food. Googles definition says no fuss and thats one of my favorite things about it. Get in, get awesome food, and go on with your life. Then of course go back the next day and get it again.
Came here for the lunch special today, its about $9 for one meat and $10.50 if you get two meats. Pretty good prices for ethnic food in Midtown.I got the curry goat and the chicken Tikka Masala. This came with rice and some sort of Indian bread. The food was decent. I think it did lack in the spice/flavor department In comparison to other Indian places Ive been to (Like PANNA II). I wouldnt call it bland but its definitely not as bold as I expect from Indian cuisine. The tikka masala was better than the lamb. I would order that again but would opt to try something else over the lamb.I think 3.5 stars is appropriate. In comparison to the better Indian places Ive eaten at recently this is place falls short flavor wise. But when comparing it to the lunch options in the area, especially the ones with lunch specials, its actually great food for the money. Ill be back to explore more of the menu, I could see this place fitting Into my lunch rotation. I would much rather spend my $10 here than at chipotle.
*** THANK YOU BOSS ***The cashier constantly called me “boss.” “He asked me, “What would you like boss?” The food looked like it was not fresh. I even had to beg for them to give me the baked bread that comes with the meal. Don’t waste your time with this boss man. Never again!
I should have known cheap Indian food would not taste good.I ordered Fish Saag, Vegetable Samosas and Naan bread. Id like to think I know good tasting Indian food, my mother bought a lot while I grew up.I knew the Fish Saag would be a disappointment when they put it in the bag -- it was entirely too green, where as good Saag would be a bit more brown from the different herbs and spices added to it.I was dead-on. I couldnt find an onion or a tomato in the Saag. It was sub-par; I could have made better following a recipe at my home. And the fish tasted off.The vegetable samosas had no vegetable -- only potato. It tasted more like a knish. And the naan bread was not only burned, but it was not fluffy.I will not eat here again.
Good evening we have just left this restaurant I can assure you its a disaster we ate a Tika massala chicken Hard and dry as concrete my wife asked for a dish that is not spicy, I like spices a lot so it was, but they put a very spicy dish on her and she couldnt eat anything.Unpleasant welcome from the owner and the employee the Nan Was really very dry without any taste to top it off he forces us to take drink products and in addition at the end at 9:50 pm he waits behind us so that we can finish and we exit the restaurant. He is not an Indian or Bangladeshi food specialist.Hes a con artist who uses tourists to give them stale rice funds and dry chicken. No dish is prepared everything is left in full heat in stainless steel boxes we strongly advise against this restaurant know that this opinion is not intended to harm the restaurant but to inform all future tourists and all people who may be get there.

2018-02-07Ideal for an express lunch, food is just OK and not cooked to serve. Gets 3 stars for decent prices and friendly staff.

2019-02-28Had Samoa, Vegetable Pakora, Samoa Chat and Vegetarian Platter. Not much flavor so recommend getting the chutney and raita to add some flavor.

2018-08-09I ordered a biriyani but I got plain rice mixed with chicken and food color. Worse biriyani in the world.

2021-01-06The man who usually runs this place is a gentle, personable and professional manager. Hes a good man, experiences and has been in the business for a while. He remembers you and cares about your experience. The last time I visited, he was off sick, so I hope hes better and hes back. The food is good especially the tandoori chicken, the biryani, the naans and the mango lassi. Easily accessible. Great location. They deliver in the area too. And its halal for all those seeking good and quick serve halal food in New York. Definitely recommend them.

2017-11-12I ordered on seamless and immediately upon placing the order I realized it was going to my work and not home. I called within seconds of placing and they said it was no problem, it was cancelled. Later I realized I got charged for food I didn’t want nor ever received. I had seamless dispute this, but the restaurant told seamless it had already made my food. Completely impossible! Additionally, seamless took it upon themselves to write a fake five star review under my name.

2018-02-11Really want to give it three and a half stars. Its a middle of the road Indian restaurant: not much spice, not much butter, not too pricey considering you get a sizeable portion for the money. They are willing to do custom orders unlike some of the other places in the area.

2017-07-31Pathetic food. Indian food is so flavourful but the food at this place is so blend. Manager have complete differential attitude towards people.Palak paneer was not at all good and Chana masala was not at all good. Quantity of rice was too much but Dahi was served in very small quantity like pickle. Pay $2 for 3 piece.Dont go as food is at cheap rates.

2019-08-30Joy is always a good place for good Indian/Bangladeshi consider food. The meat in goat curry is always tender, the splice level is never too much, the rice or naan is if good quality and you can either sit and eat or take it away. Cant go wrong!!
