Juniors Restaurant and Bakery in other cities:
Decor, Space, Clean, and Staff, no doubt a 5 * but FOOD ...hmmm...not sure if youre drunk and will find it good...for a nice place serving tasteless food, I did not expect that, McDonalds fries are way much better than what they served...the chicken..pfff..cant even describe. Other than a nasty food, the place is nice and staff is really friendly, also the drinks are awesome. I feel they dont take their time to prepare the food properly because of the traffic...too many tourists gets hungry, and you know, when youre hungry everything is tasty.
Although it was super busy when we joined the queue, we were seated very quickly. The food came out fast and hot. We enjoyed every minute here. I especially loved the decor. It felt like I had stepped back in time. And I cant forget to mention the true highlight.....THE CHEESECAKE! OMG...I ate it so fast, I was highly upset when it was gone. Since we were celebrating my wifes birthday, the gave her a slice of cheesecake for free. She guarded that slice with her life! Thanks for a memorable experience at Times Square!
During my visit to NYC Juniors became the place my family would go for dessert after seeing a Broadway show. Their menu offers a great selection and has something for everyone. We didnt order regular food, but everything we saw coming out of the kitchen looked delicious. Service was great and wait times werent bad, even on a late Friday evening.
This restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere. Its a great place for families looking to take a break from the hustle and bustle of Time Square. The food is also delicious. The portions are generous. We dined on hamburgers, but I saw several different entrées leaving the kitchen and they all looked wonderful from the salads, chicken and ribs. The childrens portion looked exactly like the adults portions. Our waitress did go missing, so we had to ask someone to find her, so that we could get our bill, but all the other staff was wonderful and stayed busy. They have two locations, both are walking distance from the center of Time Square. The second location is right beside The Lion King. I highly recommend enjoying this stop.
Very tasty food. Not a lot of options in chicken, so it was a little difficult for me as a person who eats only chicken and no other meat. We tried the buffalo wings which is amazing, this is the second time I tried this. We also tried the fried chicken sandwich which was okay. I also ordered a coffee which tasted great.
Stopped at Juniors for lunch in Times Square. We had a sandwich each which came with steak cut chips and pickles. Portions sizes were huge! Had to try some cheesecake too (strawberry and brownie explosion) but had them to go as we were so full after our meal! We had to wait for around 5-10 mins for a table on a Saturday lunchtime and service was faultless. Would recommend the cheesecake here if nothing else, it’s delicious!
Friendly, attentive service. Its very busy. The portions are large. I had the chopped liver appetizer but it was large enough to be my main meal. The fish and chips was just ok - the fish falls apart in your hands (too moist) and the tartar sauce wasnt that good. The tuna salad sandwich was acceptable, nothing special. I had the Big Apple cocktail 🍸 and it tasted like medicine to me - the waiter made it more tart than sweet which I appreciated and recommend 👌but it wasnt my favorite. We also ordered the bottomless strawberry lemonade and gingerale. 😁
One of the best places for breakfast. They check your vaccination cards and id for dine in at the entrance. We had veggie omelette and spinach and mushroom omelette with hot chocolate and chocolate milkshake. The food was delicious, specially the hot chocolate but the only star deduction is for waiting period for food to be on table. Been drinking hot chocolate from Junior’s everyday, it’s the best in Times Square. Definitely recommended
Terrible. Worst meal we had there. The food looked tasty plated but the taste of the food was just gross, greasy and of questionable quality. I ordered the seafood platter. It was overcooked. (No cocktail available, only tarter.) The cheese steak was tough and full of fat. Not even the fries were good and thats hard to mess up. Youre better off eating at one of the food trucks.
Here you can experience the feeling of a typical American diner. As soon as you enter, there are cheesecakes in the window that make your mouth water! I tried the the cheesecake with a ciliega topping and it was really good.y. The quantities are abundant and the quality/price ratio is excellent! Definitely come back!
Whata great place to eat. Food is very good. Very large portions. Hard to be hungry when you leave. The wait staff is very friendly. I get the sense the decor vide is old school with a modern twist. And it’s in the heart of Times Square in New York City. Bring your kids and your appetite. Everyone will leave happy. And done forget the shakes. They are crazy ridiculous.
Having known about the quality of service and the deliciousness of the products I visited this new location on my last visit to NYC and Times Square. The food is good, with great presentation and affordable price. The staff is nice, very professional and work efficiently to reduce the waiting time perhaps the high volume of clients. Being in Broadway makes easy the access to this restaurant. The do offer outside seating and follow protocol for COVID 19. Social distance is possible considering the size of the place.
My mum and me came today to celebrate New Years we felt happy before coming because she is a cheesecake lover and where is the best than in here? (We supposed) I have no problem with the food/coffee but De Nisse the waitress treated us very bad and very rude. Asking for two cappuccino without chocolate on the top (in case they do) she told us this is not Starbucks and said we already order with almond milk but this is not Starbucks. My face was like what? Didn’t expect it at all. Definitely I won’t recommend to any and of course we won’t come back again.
Attended here on two occasions, once for breakfast and once for a late dinner. In the night the diner was very busy and we had to wait around 30 minutes for a table at the bar. The food was served very quickly and was extremely tasty with big portions. On the second occasion we went for breakfast at around 9 and there was no queue. The food is on the expensive side but totally wort it!
Juniors is very clearly a bit of a tourist trap, but that doesnt mean that their giant cheesecake slices arent worth trying! We went on a weekday evening around 8:30PM and were quickly seated. The service was a bit slow, but we werent in much of a rush so it wasnt a problem. Overall, I recommend coming here for cheesecake, but maybe not for a meal since its mostly just general diner food.
Do NOT go to the take out side for cheesecake. Instead of getting the slices from the display case they went to the back for the slices. I bought 4 slices that came out to $37.Split 2 of the pieces in half they both taste like they are left over from 2 weeks ago. Its dried out and the crumble is soggy. If I lived in the city I would get a refund. The worker knew the slices was old because he held my receipt, that has the survey and his name on it.If I could give 0 stars I would. The slices are small because I split both cheesecakes in half with someone else.I will take before pictures of the other 2 slices.VERY DISAPPOINTED
I was looking for a place in NYC to eat a classic New York cheesecake. After many recommendations and reviews, I set my sights on JUNIORS. 🍰 and I swear, it would be the best cheesecake Ive ever had in my life. Perfectly creamy, melty, not too sweet. If you like New York cheesecake, its only at Juniors! 🥧🍨
I went here alone and had a hot chocolate and an original cheesecake. I must say both were big portions for only paying around 14 dollars. Cheesecake was damn heavy though, didnt eat for the rest of the day haha. I would suggest buying the smaller cheesecakes of them in supermarkets.
We went to Junior’s before our Wednesday Wicked matinee. Our server, Jonathon (with the little pony-tail) was so wonderful! He gave us great recommendations, engaged our children of 12 and 10 years, and was so attentive. We had not experienced great service in any of our NYC restaurants until Jonathon at Juniors. He changed our kids’ attitudes about NYC!! We even went back after the show for dessert. Thank you, Jonathon! And just a tip, the portions are massive! We laughed at how much food was on our lunch portion of the fried chicken breast. Perfect to share so you can also have some cheesecake!
Came here for dessert. Plenty to choose from. The Staff was rude. I guess they dont have to be nice, most people are from out of town or watching a show and will never come back,, so they dont care. Located in the Theatre District. They also serve food, but read the reviews so decided to skip. Prefer the Brooklyn location, but they are marketing to the tourists.
Just had a great experience the past twonights at Juniors, after leaving the theater. We only had dessert both nights butFernanda and Ariel treated us as if webought out the place. They were both sonice and conscientious, especiallyFernanda. The restaurant is so busy andthey see so many people, but whenFernanda walked by our table tonight shesaid I remember you two from last nightwith a big smile. Now that is customerservice.Juniors, thank you for the great service.
Trendy, touristy version of NYC classic comfort food. Jonathan our server was absolutely a delight. The food was just OK, nothing special, but served quick and tasted good. Do not let the numbers of people waiting for seating stop you from putting in your name. The tables turn over fast and we were seated in less than 10 minutes. Great place for a quick meal before catching a Broadway Show!
I went this past weekend with my family. We had tickets to see a show and we wanted to grab some food before. Our waitress Noelia was such a sweetheart, she was very attentive. The food was delicious!!! She recommended a Reuben and that’s what my husband ordered. It was delicious!! The best pastrami I’ve had in New York. I ordered a chicken salad sandwich! So so delicious and light. We also got a strawberry cheesecake for dessert! Please save room for dessert it’s a must super creamy.I noticed the restaurant was packed, super busy and the female manager on the floor kept motivating her staff. Lovely environment. We’re definitely recommending this place to all our friends back home.
Juniors was fun, convenient, tasty, and affordable (by NYC standards). The sandwiches my party ordered were piled high (they arent stingy with the meat)...large enough to share or to satisfy big appetites. The menu offered plenty of variety without being overwhelming, and the prices were reasonable, which was a pleasant surprise given the location (Broadway at Times Square). The service was a little slow but not overly so, and the cheesecake was delicious. Will go again.
The food was good. The pineapple cheesecake was amazing. The pea soup... So good. Egg salad is pretty basic but it was very good. The service was mediocre. They were very busy. Thats fine. I saw four tables get seated after me and all were acknowledged before I even got water. My table didnt have a QR code on it and the empty tables near me didnt either so I couldnt even look at the menu. One of the tables even got their food before I placed my order. The waiter was very nice when he finally came, and the food was good. This is why I only took off one star for the service instead of two.
When I think of a well known place in the city, I almost never expect it to be nearly as good as the hype is. Every time Ive gone to a place that Ive heard that I must go there its been lackluster at best.Juniors threw that thought away immediately. The portions were generous and it felt like I was eating at a good old fashioned deli. They had a huge variety of offerings with a huge emphasis on sandwiches. In the groups of 8 that I was with, we had a huge variety from standard and traditional deli meats to fried chicken. Everyone absolutely loved their food.Because of their reputation, we all figured we needed to get cheesecake. That had to be one of the best slices of cheesecake Ive ever had. It absolutely lives up to the reputation of being one of the best cheesecakes in NYC. Id love to try cheesecake from a place that claims to be better, Id bet that theyre wrong.
Right in the heart of tines square. On a desperate search late after a concert, my daughter and I were looking high and low for a dessert place. Lo, and behold Juniors in all its glorious lights and glimmer. The place was absolutely packed at 12:30am on a Friday night, and we waited about 15 minutes for our table. The decor is old 50s hop style, and we ordered cheesecakes and coffee. It was so rich and decadent. The cheesecake was perfectly fluffy and deliciously rich both at the same time. I opted for blueberries and they complimented the cheesecake perfectly. Portion sizes are great, and I will definitely come back for more food and cake on my next adventure! Thanks Juniors!
The restaurant decor and service was amazing. The food and “fancy coffees” were incredibly disappointing and not at all worth the price tag. My daughter ordered the French toast. It was dry and came out deep fried. It wasn’t made with brioche bread, nor was the egg made with any kind of traditional spices nor did it have the usual powered sugar sprinkled on top. It was like deep fried toast pieces: “just disgusting” were my daughter’s words. And the eggs Benedict was just as bad. The sauce was congealed and not enough of it, poached eggs were over cooked, there was no garnish on the plate and the sliced tomato that came separately had the core pieces/end part in the middle still. We ordered strong lattes. These were more water than milk, although they were strong, which was confounding. They were not tasty at all. I wish I had a picture to share to show you how bad the food looked. If you want yummy and reasonably priced breakfast… this is not the place for you. Very disappointing.
First of all, we came from Chicago and we didn’t have our COVID vaccine papers with us. The place only allows inside vaccinated people who have proof of it. That is good. But we decided to take out food from there, and opened turkey was messy not understandable how to eat, the cheeseburger wasn’t good enough for place with 4.4 star review even McDonald’s tastes better! And only the cheesecake was good enough. Though there was too much syrup above. In total we spend $73 and this is not worth it!
This place is a fantastic spot for cheesecake lovers! 💕 Juniors Restaurant and Bakery has a wonderful variety of delicious 🤤 cheesecakes 🍰 - definitely try the Carrot 🥕 Cheesecake, its absolutely huge! The desserts 🧁 taste really fresh and it shows that they are using high quality cream cheese in their recipes! Food here looked delicious too, but we only stopped by for the cakes 🎂. The interior design is beautiful and the ambience 🎶 is fantastic! Staff 👨🍳 is super nice and professional, and the service is quick! I wish I came here more often!
Why is this place so under rated ?? First off/ it’s the perfect location if you are going to a Broadway show! We went during lunch time and were seating immediately while other diners had lines! The place was big and clean! The food was delicious ! I ordered a pastrami sandwich and it was flavorful , juicy and delicious… my son chicken tenders were the real deal and not store bought bulk frozen chicken fingers… I didn’t eat the cheesecake because didn’t have space in the tummy but i and I am sure the place that’s famous for cheesecake does have scrumptious cheesecake! I would hands down go back especially if I am going to a show!
Juniors is so iconic to New York with original location in Brooklyn. The savory food is quite tasty, and portion sizes are very large. Salmon dinner is yummy as well as burgers, sandwiches. Then there is dessert. The famous cheesecake which just melts in your mouth. I have never had a bad meal here, highly recommend.
I was walking back to my hotel when I felt the need to get something sweet. I decided to walk over to Juniors because it is said to have the best cheesecake. Walked inside, ordered a cheesecake, walked to my hotel, and my cheesecake was gone. I ate the entire thing on my walk back. I hope this review proves really how delicious juniors cheesecake is. This is the only picture I have of the cheesecake I devoured.
Juniors, bad service. It took forever for us to get our food. I am not the biggest fan of cheesecake, its okay but I wouldnt get it over other things and this place is apparently popular for it. The cheesecake was very good as far as cheesecakes go, it was especially creamy and not overly sweet and the different flavors were distinct. My personal favorite is the coconut lemon cheesecake. The chicken sandwich I got was just ok.Overall a decent place.
We arrived, hadnt booked as the booking form on the website wouldnt accept a UK number (with and without the +44) but to be fair it was only a 5 or so minute wait for a table.Fish and Chips was good but the burger I had wasnt all that great, a bit greasy for me. Cheesecakes are good though beware, the red velvet one is a huge slice, think it couldve done with a sauce too as the large centre was a bit too plain. Ice tea was nice though. Not a fan of the tipping culture, especially when nobodys done anything to really deserve a rip (as it would be in the UK).Overall alright place to eat, not too expensive considering its right on Times Square but think the staff couldve been a bit friendlier/more interested. Food didnt wow enough to make me want to go back.
Fun 50s/60s-style Jewish restaurant. The Thousand Island dressing was the best I ever tasted, its a must with the Reuben sandwich. But the real thing is the cheesecake!! They have several flavors but you really cant go wrong with just the original plain, its just the perfect amount of sweet and coolness, and it literally melts in the mouth.
Friendly and attentive staff, no wait..Did have to show proof of vax and id. The location is perfect if you are heading to the Theatre. I had Chopped liver, and bagels and lox both were high quality. Saved the best for last, the cheesecake is wonderful. Highly recommend and will return.
My sister and I was on vacation and had lunch at Juniors. Not only was the food outstanding but the customer service was exceptional. Jonathan was our waitor and he was very friendly and professional. The cheesecake was out of site, excellent! We had a great experience and a great time. Thank you Jonathan for overly providing excellent customer service.
I ordered eggs Benedict and my wife ordered the avocado toast and it was delicious! My only complaint was we ordered a side of fruit and the quality of the fruit was very poor. The cup was filled with liquid as if it was dumped in from a can. Definitely didn’t taste like fresh fruit. Not worth $8
Near to times square and open until 2am. Was a great option during that time, wait time at 12am was around 30-40minutes.Normal American food but the highlight was the cheesecake. Ordered wings, chicken fingers and sandwich. But the best one was the strawberry cheesecake.Customer service was great.
Took my kids to the city and dropped in for a quick meal. From beginning to end, the service and food was exceptional. The staff all looked and acted like they cared about doing their jobs right. Big shout out to Mike our server for making this a great experience for my family and I.
Friendly employees, but I tried this place twice during my stay and the food wasn’t good enough to bring me back. First time was a Friday-busy (but expected) and was seated within the time the host gave us. Ordered burgers with steak fries and onions rings. Burger was fine. Steak fries were about the same as the ones I bake at home from the bag in the freezer. The onions rings though were really disappointing-gummy, chewy and not crispy at all—and tasted fishy, like the oil hadn’t been changed in a while. Tried again the next night for some take away cheesecake after a show. Again, friendly staff-but the slice of cheesecake was nearly frozen in the center-so not as enjoyable as you expect for nearly $9 piece of dessert. I don’t think I’d try again.
While the food tasted good, the hostess was rude. We bought our cheesecake and asked if we could eat at one of the counter top seats that were open. The hostess looked at us and said “you can eat outside”. The way they said it just came off incredibly disrespectful. If there’s a policy against letting people eat single slices inside, at least say it respectfully and I’d understand.
I had an amazing experience here. It seemed to be more detailed than the one on DeKalb Avenue in Brooklyn. The waitress that I met was one of the nicest ladies Ive met in my life. Her name was Fernanda and I loved how her customer service was to me, my mother, and my Aunt. She was so nice that mow, I believe that she deserves a huge raise in her paycheck.
Lets be clear. This place is quite literally FAMOUS for their cheesecake. We got the strawberry cheesecake (one of their famous slices) and the only thing good about it were the strawberries. You know. The thing that grows out of the ground. Please avoid the times square/tourist trap hype. There is better cheesecake in any other burough. Just dont do it to yourself.
We tried to go to Ellens Stardust Diner one evening but found the line wrapped around the building so quickly walked back a block to this nice looking place (which had been mentioned multiple times by locals for their great cheesecake) which had no line. Quickly seated and our friendly and attentive waiter quickly arrived and took our orders. So, the prices are higher than you would normally pay for this kind of food (ex. about $16 for burger) which gave me a little grief at first BUT the portions are HUGE and the quality is really good. My steakburger was very large, came with all the fixings, and included some monstrous onion rings and fries. If it was a value meal at McDonalds, it would probably be $12....but you are just a few blocks at NYC and in a local diner, so not too bad!! Desserts were also very healthy sized and all were very delicious. Honestly, I have no complaints and we now stop for takeaway cakes ($9) and coffee when we have a show nearby.
On a day trip to New York City, I had a hankering for a Reuben. Given that we were in the touristy Rockefeller Center area, it was going to be a long trek to Katzs. I saw that Juniors was in walking distance and I thought it would fit the bill for my craving.I must warn people that if you are expecting a Reuben in the style of a Jewish delicatessen, you will be disappointed. However, if you are expecting a good diner with character, comfort and service in a central location this is it!Compared to other diners, this place excels in customer service and in ambience. Walking in, you really feel like you are eating somewhere special with the spinning Juniors. The hostess was unbelievably accommodating of my relative in a wheelchair. The waitstaff provided service that had the attentiveness of a 4 star restaurant. The setting was unique and airy. Big windows for people watching. The ambience had bright colors and subtle but tasteful wood accents. A nice place to sit.Food is generally of high quality but some of it seemed corporate. The pickle/Cole slaw plate was a nice touch. The matzo ball soup had about the right consistency of matzo ball but did taste a bit more corporate rather than homemade. My wifes burger was exceptional for a diner. The Reuben (what was supposed to be the star of the show) was disappointing. The corn beef was too thin and the bread was pedestrian. It was perfectly edible but definitely tasted more corporate and mass produced. In contrast, a Reuben from Katzs features a more made from scratch type of taste and thicker higher quality meats.Of course, Juniors is famous for its cheesecake and has every right to be. The cheesecake was exceptional. The cherry topping tasted refreshing and the cheesecake had a nice balanced flavor. All food was topped with good quality coffee that more than hit the spot. While Juniors failed to deliver a Jewish delicatessen quality Reuben sandwich, I thought that as a diner Juniors more than passed with flying colors (literally!). Its a lively place to sit in. Youll be served as if you went somewhere special and treated very well. And you will get humongous portions of pretty good quality diner food and some famous cheesecake.
Nostalgic and tradition to go get a piece of cheesecake after a Broadway show. Michael was a delight and a wonderful server. Here’s what happened, check in with host at 10:42. He’s said it will be a half hour. We get a text at 10:52 saying our table is ready. We arrive back at 10:58 and don’t get let in because they are closed. We tell the security guy that we have a text from them to come. He asks the host if he sent us a text and he denies it. The proof was on the phone tho and they let us in.Moral of the story, if it’s 10:30 pm or later, don’t bother going! So sad they are only open until 11.I miss prepandemic times.
The first time I went here was the cheesecake, it was so good! I had their red velvet and it was so worth it! The 2nd time was for dinner and i had a burger, it was good and the portion of the burger was huge but good, the only thing I didn’t like was their onion rings, the batter wasn’t good, but overall really good food
Oh man was this place delicious! They were incredibly busy when we visited on Thanksgiving Day after the parade, but we didnt wait too long- maybe 25 minutes or so. The service was prompt and friendly. I ordered the lunch combo with a Caesar salad and matzo ball soup and I loved every bite! We also ordered the Disco fries and they werent the best, but not terrible. At the end of the meal we all ordered cheesecake and it was some of the best cheesecake Ive ever had! I ordered the Red Velvet cake cheesecake and it was SO good!
Food was great. Overall had a great time here. Only negative thing I experienced was the wait time. You can expect a wait time almost anywhere you go in NYC especially on the weekend. Waitress was nice and helped me pick a good meal choice. Will return in the future.
Some of the best cheesecake Ive ever had! A world famous spot, this location is busy but does a great job.The staff was really friendly and our deserts were incredible. I ordered the carrot cake cheesecake and it was delicious! Will definitely come back for more and highly recommend!
The the turkey sandwich was good but it wasn’t really a sandwich it was two pieces of bread with a bunch of turkey and gravy on top which was amazing but I wouldn’t consider it a sandwich which is a little misleading can definitely be split between 2 people. The bacon cheeseburger was not that good taste like just a plain burger with bacon and cheese no real flavor to it that made it worth what it was wouldn’t get the burger again
Incredible food! Absolutely loved all the unique flavors! service was not horrible, but not outstanding either. All around, a good experience and would recommend this place to anyone who wants a flavor of New York! Definitely get a slice of cheesecake! The Rueben Egg Rolls were outstanding! Served with Thousand Island dressing!
I read that this place has the best cheesecake and many tines things labeled “the best” fall short and it’s disappointing. That was not the case here. It truly was THE BEST! The softest and creamiest cheesecake I’ve ever had. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Every staff member we interacted with was incredibly friendly. We liked the cheesecake so much we made a point to stop in again to get a few slices to go! We look forward to being in NYC again and this will definitely be one of our first stops!!
Best cheesecake hands down! The original cheesecake was DELICIOUS. We also got the chocolate swirl and it wasn’t as good but still great!Food was really good as well. Our waitress was attentive for the amount of tables she had/how loud and packed in it was. We only had about a 10 minute wait (was expecting a lot longer based on the line) and the food came really quick after we ordered! Reasonable prices for the area!
Terribly bland “brisket” sandwich. Wife’s corned beef was dry as the Sahara. Service was dismal with the waiter obviously bothered we hummed and hawed over what to get and never showing up to refill water or otherwise attend to us other than hand us the bill. Overhyped, overpriced, and we were extremely underwhelmed.
Awesome pastrami sandwiches and baked onion soup for lunch!!! Talk about deliciousness!! The pastrami has a beautiful bark on it and went well with the pickled beets to cut the richness of the meat. Of course there was a chocolate mousse cheesecake to follow and I had a bite of my colleagues strawberry cheesecake. My server E.J was so friendly and helpful. I love this place. I come here every time I get into the city.
Its an important place in NY history and definetly worth the visit to get a authentic feeling of the city. Dinner menu is bit expensive, breakfast prices are more reasonable. The food is good, but I think that their best menu items are the desserts. Their legendary cheesecake is so silky and soft. Milkshakes are also delicious (they even use paper straws, yay for environment!). And of course, the interior is great. Service was friendly too.
With its proximity to Time’s Square, Junior’s Restaurant and Bakery can be a very touristy place. It can be very busy at times with visitor’s coming in waves. This can make service a bit slow during peak hours. However, the food is still excellent. The matzo ball soup is great as is the cheesecake, black and white cookie and chocolate egg cream. It is a terrific location if you want to grab something small before, or after, seeing a Broadway show. Also, because of the steady stream of patrons, you do get to enjoy some people-watching. Eating on the patio can be nice if the weather permits such activity. You get to absorb the sites and sounds of New York City without being overwhelmed by the constant flow of so many people.
A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!!! I cant express how great this restaurant and bakery was! The staff was wonderful- funny, helpful, professional but still personable! I had very high expectations going in, but the food was even better than expected. Atmosphere was very loud, but nice. A very wide variety of music was played. I heard more than one table get happy birthday sung to them, which is a nice accommodation for the restaurant. Everything was very clean, floor, tables, bathrooms. The wait wasnt too bad, only about 15 minuets even though they were very busy. Which brings us to the cheesecake.... the cheesecake was literally worth the whole NY trip, yes, it was THAT GOOD. If you are visiting NY and want the staple experience, you have to get their cheesecake, its not debatable! Prices were low (no complaints here though), honestly the food was worth alot more. Will definitely visit when Im in the area next!!!
We was just walking by and i personally didnt know there was a juniors at this location. So we decided to give it a try. The ambiance i found it to really nice. I ordered the disco fries and my friend ordered the burger with fries. The disco fries was okay. I had it before but it was much better at the other location in Midtown. I think it was because it was after midnight. My friends burger and fries tasted good. Id definitely say to give a try.
Prepare to save room for dessert no matter what you order! Their cheesecake is a crowning glory of a confection with so many variations we couldn’t decide. Finally we picked chocolate over fruity cheesecake! Heavenly! Probably could have split it because the portions are huge. The other food looked like good diner fare. They had milkshakes that looked delicious. Juniors is a great place for a 1950’s experience with music, great atmosphere and fun food.
Very well located place with an affordable and great food. I would give them 5 starts but the service is EXTREMELY fast in a non good way; the servers are always on a rush, they don’t listen much and you have to chase them for a soda refill and ironically not for the check. I attended 3 times in a week just to give them the benefit of doubt but it was always the same. Other that that, I loved the place. The original Cheesecake is delicious, not too sweet, the right amount of sweet. Try to attend on mornings because the breakfast menu, specially the scramble eggs with spinach are delicious !
Twenty years ago I wanted to come to New York just to visit this place!! I’m so glad I finally made it!! We ate here twice on our weekend getaway to NYC!!Breakfast here is great but the cheesecake is even better!!Also if you’ve ever wanted to try one of those ridiculously huge milkshakes piled high with a cheesecake on top!!And you can always order online & have it shipped home!
I loved the pickles and coleslaw that comes on the table. I got the corned beef and pastrami and another person got the combined meat Reuben. The sauerkraut wasnt very flavorful. The sandwiches were big and a bit dry, but we had plenty for leftovers and I thought the sandwiches were better after sitting for a time. The cheesecake was phenomenal. It had the perfect hint of vanilla and was super creamy. It is a definite must try.
We had been to the nearby junior’s. Somehow the food in this place didn’t impress me as much. The place is very modern and very attentive waiters. Perhaps the seats we had didn’t make me enjoy it as much also. It was in the periphery. Try to sit in the inner area. Nicely decorated for Christmas, very festive. I ordered the salads. I must say I had better ones elsewhere. I guess it’s best to order burgers. The carrot cake wasn’t moist. The soup was fine. I guess best to order their cheesecake.
It is a great and amazing place to visit!!!Even if it is located in the center of time square, they serve great foods and beverages.Thet have many other locations and almost same high quality foods served.BBQ baby back ribs are recommended and good free beets and pickles!! Loved!
Absolutely fantastic place to grab a meal after walking all over the city, or to take a break from the sidewalk traffic of Times Square. We were seated right away and were quickly greeted by our server.Lots of options in the menu, but I had to try the famous Reubens. The Russian dressing was absolutely divine, fresh, and absolutely delicious on the Reuben. I ordered the combo Reuben and my wife ordered the turkey Reuben. Sandwiches were huge and tasty, with tender meats and toasted bread. Coleslaw was fresh and had great flavor.Although they had dozens of dessert choices, we wanted to try the original cheesecake theyre so famous for. Wow... Absolutely amazing, creamy taste, smooth and fluffy, and not overly sweet. Let it melt in your mouth and you will know why people love this cheesecake.I ended my meal with a delicious, hot espresso, a good counterbalance to the cheesecake.Absolutely great experience at Juniors, and will definitely come visit again the next time were in the city.
First time in New York and found Juniors nearby our hotel. Excellent food and desserts!! I ordered the southern style fried chicken. The breading was perfect! The veggies were great and i turned my French fries into disco fries which was also pretty good. My husband got the Reuben and he said he really enjoyed it. For dessert we ordered the famous strawberry cheesecake and famous strawberry shortcake to go. Both were absolutely delicious!! If Im ever back in New York City, Im going straight to Juniors!!!
A really cool diner-looking restaurant located in the amazing Time Square. The service was really good and the food was ok.I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who’s looking for a branch meal.Dishes orderedFrench toast - with apple and fruits on the side. Two eggs - with potatoes and toasts.Ice cream - three ice cream balls of the available flavors. In the photo: vanilla strawberry & coffee.
OK this place is definitely different than a typical New York restaurant. The atmosphere was absolutely wonderful definitely packed all the time and the food is absolutely wonderful and the cheesecake is to die for. We went their for breakfast and had just a phenomenal meal and the cost will not break you like the other New York restaurants will
Wow! This place was unbelievable! I havent had the best experience with Time Square and food, but Juniors knocks it out of the park. The staff were friendly and warm and couldnt do enough for you. Orders were taken quickly but without being pushy - we could take as long as we wanted.Food was prepared in a fair time and tasted fantastic. I couldnt fault anything at Juniors.Chances are you go here for the cheesecake. Its a little heavy, but WOW! It was so tasty. So, so good. Its true what people say - its hands down one of the best cheesecakes in NYC!
I must say I wasnt a fan of Cheesecakes to be honest but Juniors cheesecakes changed my mind. Each slice costs you somewhere between $6-$9 but they are totally worth it.I am not an expert in cheesecakes but they tasted pretty great. No sour taste at all and they also have a sugar free version for diabetic people which means they do want everyone to enjoy their delicious creations.Do visit if you are near Times Square area.
Juniors has always been my favorite bakery for Black and White Cookies and New York Cheesecake. Hubby and I have dinner here when we are in town (NYC) and the food is great, but the desserts are the best! Service is always wonderful and the restaurant is packed, so be patient. Love the rotating Junior sign inside the restaurant too.
On the way back from shopping at 5th Avenue , I had made up mind to visit this famous place. The place was brilliantly lit with huge boards of Juniors. Well known for their cheesecake I had try it!.The ambiance was surreal with the red background and decor, it was quite a full house even on the weekdays.famous no.1 original cheesecake :5/5I had ordered this one as it was a dine in and I got to sit I those long narrow tables accommodating many people, the cheesecake was just a slice , I felt it being a bit overpriced for 8$ but TBH I couldnt complete the slice and had to take away. The cheesecake was great as the cheese content was in abundance, I loved the pure taste of it and also the softness of it , I really didnt care about the calories as I went for it . Its a must try if your around this place and it makes up for the best experience I have had in Manhattan.
I had french onion soup and it was delectable. I also had the bacon cheese burger with mushrooms. The burger was very seasoned. It was perfect. Lastly I had Juniors famous cheesecake... and let me say this... babyyyyyyyyyy, it was amazeballs!!! Try tjos place! I highly recommend! Sign Nadiggy from Philly!!!
Fun tourist stop for some pretty good cheesecake! There are certainly better dessert places in NYC, and it is certainly overhyped, but it is just one of those that has a must visit reputation. Got the red velvet cheesecake and a black and white cookie. Felt the price point was fair, and I enjoyed the few bites I had. To me, it was a little more rich than Id prefer, but it was good. The black and white cookies were standard, but good (they honestly all taste the same no matter where you get them in Times Square). I wouldnt wait in line for this, if the place was crowded, but Id get it again when in NYC!
I’m reviewing this place for taking cheesecake to go! Just walk on in and you can see a wonderful counter with so many things you want to try if you’re like me. I chose the carrot cake cheesecake. I’ve never had such a combo. The frosting on the carrot cake part was very light. I didn’t love it as much as the center part which was the cheesecake. Nevertheless I almost ate all of this and it was worth the calories. If we would have had more time I would have eaten breakfast here.
What better place to enjoy NYC cheesecake than in NYC Times Square at Juniors! Established in the 1950s, this retro Diner and soda shop is the perfect hangout after a Broadway show. And the food is fantastic. Our group indulged in cherry cheesecake and strawberry cheesecake, and we couldnt believe how big the slices were! We also had their onion rings...very good! Great vibe, we will return!
We made sure to include a stop to Juniors in our recent NY visit. Famed for its cheesecake, its also a great place to have breakfast and prices are reasonable for NY. It was a busy morning when we were there, so we always had to chase after our waiter, but not so bad that we wont make a return trip. Make sure to leave room for dessert!
Let me just begin with the cheesecake.. Is there anything better? I had it for breakfast with a cup of coffee. We also had corn beef hash, omelettes, eggcream, matzoh ball soup, coconut Lemon layer cake which was fluffy, light and so good.Loved the pickles and beets with coleslaw as appetizer. Everyone at table was raving about their selection. Try it you wont be sorry
Great food and service at dinner. Horrible service at breakfast. The place was compleately packed at dinner because of the power outage. However, we got a table in minutes. Food came out quickly. Waitress was lovely. Everything we ordered were tasty.Polar opposite at breakfast. Place was half empty when we got there. It took the waitress 15 minutes to bring our drink. We waited another half an hour for our food that never came. Meanwhile, the restaurant was packed again. We kept seeing food came out to tables that were seated long after us. We complained to waitress and she said it took longer for our food because there were 6 of us. We waited for another 10 minutes. We kept seeing more food came out but none was ours. We asked the waitress again and she said it only been 20 minutes since we ordered and our food was being putting on a tray. We finally left the money on the table for the drinks and left when food still didnt come out after almost 10 minutes. It was not the restaurant false but our waitress. Other waiters/waitresses got their customers food quickly. Our waitress was not very attentive. She never came to check on us after she brought the drinks. Her other customers had to flagged the manager to pay their bills when they didnt see her for 10+ minutes.
Excellent food and short wait given the busy street its located on. They have a huge selection of desserts and the few we tried were delicious. The only reason its not a 5 star review is the service. The server was very good and got everything right, but it took a long time between each visit to the table. I attribute this to the busy nature of the restaurant and not the individual, but its still a factor. Aside from that, well done!
Great experience! Food was amazing, especially the cheesecake, and the service was exceptional. Ordered the grilled cheese, egg salad BLT sandwich, french onion soup, and a Reuben. All good dishes, and filling. Price of everything was decent for time square, and its a fun atmosphere.
Oh ho go you are in for a treat. We have eaten there for both breakfast and dinner and it’s soo worth it. Portion size is huge for European standards.Servers are really helpful and refills at any chance.I can recommend their eggs and steak for breakfast or their regular steak burger for lunch.Even though they are famous for their cheesecakes, don’t expect that you are able to fit it in afterwards
This restaurant is incredible. As soon as you are seated, you get a small chocolate pastry that worth every bite.Plates are very well served (I had a lumberjack for breakfast but I could not eat it all. I should have had shared half it with someoje.).I dont know if they serve breakfast after 10:45 am but notice the menu chances after that.Bottom line, if you are looking for a great breakfast, come here.
Any Juniors locations will always be my go to place for the best piece of cheesecake. My work colleague was in from Italy & had heard about the famous cheesecake, well i took her here for lunch. All she had was a piece of strawberry cheesecake & absolutely loved it !! I always have the Greek Salad with Salmon, its delicious !Love, love, love Juniors !!
Heard about this place from a few locals in NYC and gave it a shot - its definitely some of the best cheesecake Ive ever had (didn’t try the food)! The strawberry was the best, but the pineapple was a nice change thats not available at most stores. I like it better than the Cheesecake Factory, and a lot better in Eileens cheesecake (also famous in NYC).
I usually dont like cheesecake because Ive had a fair share of bad ones. This cheesecake was by far the best I have ever had. The flavor just worked together with the strawberry sauce and I highly recommend it. The black and white cookie was legitimate and better than what we got from a bakery, so if youre looking for black and white cookies, make sure to get them here. You can take it to go as they have a display counter of sweets when you walk in the door.
Arrived after 11am and was told that breakfast was no longer being served even though everyone around us was eating breakfast plates. Ordered a soup and half sandwich combo instead and found it to be just an average experience that you would get in any Mom and Pop diner. Cappuccino and cheesecake options were quite tasty though.

2022-06-16Dang this place gives you so much food. If youre hungry then order your own but if you arent too hungry or dont eat as much. I definitely suggest sharing with someone because it is huge. You get your moneys worth with these portions. We all enjoyed our meal and it was super flavorful. I suggest definitely getting a cheesecake because thats what they are known for. It was absolutely delicious!!!

2022-05-04Large portions; plenty to eat. Really nice and timely service! Salads & Matzoh Ball soup were good although limited vegetarian options. The desserts were very fun and the NYC Cake Shake was had a phenomenal presentation! Strawberry milkshake was fresh. The cheesecake was very rich although the crust was a little cakey. Black and white cookie was too thick.

2022-05-11We visited Juniors last week, specifically for cheesecake and pancakes. Pancakes werent on the menu for dinner, so my husband got tenders and fries instead. They looked good, but after both of us trying them, we definitely thought that they needed better seasoning, or any at all. Now, the cheesecake was phenomenal. I had the strawberry one and it was so good. Definitely recommend them for dessert, but *maybe* not so much for food.Service was fine. Our waitress was nice, but I think she was sat with too many tables because we didnt see her often.

2022-03-26Cool location close to Times Square. We ordered a grilled cheese with bacon and the Pastrami Cheeseburger. Everything was very good, despite the fries were a little dry and the service a little slow. Overall good experience a good food! The price was also very reasonable for being in downtown NY. We spent 50 dollars with feed and tips.

2022-02-28Walked out from our hotel one evening just to buy some take out cheesecake as it had looked so good walking past. The cheesecake slices were large and definitely shareable. Both varieties we tried were delicious = cherry and apple. Mine (the apple) was a little frosty so either not quite defrosted or their chillers were running cold. Service was friendly and quick. We would have considered Juniors for a sit down meal during our visit, but from the published menu pretty much the only vegetarian option was grilled cheese.

2022-04-16You know you have to get dessert after a Broadway show and Juniors hit the spot. Great location in Time Square and great vibe. Our server was so delightful and brightened our night with her smile and attitude! The cheesecake was delicious and easily served 2 people. I would love to go back and try another piece of cheesecake:)

2022-03-25We were sat an an amazing table and had possibly the best waiter in the place, Eddy. He was so attentive, polite and quick, it was a pleasure having him take care of us. Thanks Eddy! The Greek salad with salmon was one of the most delicious and large portions, I’ve ever had. Even after feeling full, I kept eating and even had dessert. Who can go wrong with Junior’s strawberry cheesecake? My friends all had enormous sandwiches, we were shocked at the size of them. Amazing food, so impressive.

2022-03-04This restaurant is good. Its located near Times Square. Staff was friendly but were slow to greet us and long gaps in between seeing our waiter. Dinner was okay. Open face roast beef sandwich is good. The dessert was good. The cheesecake was great and so rich. The milkshake below was fairly thin but good. That was the best part of our time here

2022-06-13Had the smoked salmon eggs Benedict and the lumberjack/fries with strawberry icecream soda and iced tea. The customer service was absolutely fantastic, however the food was very average. The smoked salmon eggs Benny tastes exactly like it does anywhere else you order it……the pancakes, eggs, sausages also tastes like breakfast food u can order at any cafe. Strawberry icecream soda was great though. Restaurant was very clean.
