Definitely a family owned place. It was clean the service was quick and it was busy. The food overall was good nothing out of the ordinary. The tacos were 4$ a piece and the al pastor charged extra for pineapple? Which I think is just odd since al pastor is unheard of without pineapple. Would possibly give another try.
Came to this place on a Saturday evening. Place was packed. Had no choice but to sit outside. The waiter took our drink order first. Got the agua fresca de horchata (rice water) which was very good and a torta de milanesa de pollo (breaded chicken sandwich) which was decent. Giving it 3 stars only because the wait was over 40 minutes long and my brothers order was missing a fried egg. When we asked the waiter about the egg he went head to head with us about not telling him anything about no egg.I’ve been working in the food industry for quite sometime now and at any point, is it acceptable to go head to head with the customer even if the customer is wrong. You always try to make it right. Sounds unfair to some but that’s just the way it goes. The customer is ALWAYS right. In this case we were obviously right since we clearly heard my brother be specific about the egg because he’s into going to the gym and having his extra protein intake. The heat outside was unbearable and by the time our food arrived, we were pretty much full of drinking our drinks. To each it’s own. Give it a shot if you’re willing to wait for a long period of time on a weekend day. Lastly, the flies made it gross eating outside and the music was just boring unless if you’re into 90’s pop music at a Mexican restaurant.
I feel like really great Mexican food is a bit harder to come by in NYC for some reason, but this place certainly has some of the go to dishes that I enjoy the most.I was in the mood for some Mole Poblano but decided on the pictured dish, which was a special. It was some type of red mole that was really delicious. I highly recommend this place and maybe next time I’ll get the Mole Poblano. They also serve their entrees with some of the better homemade tortillas I’ve had. To me, making the tortillas in house is a must for a restaurant.
Me and my family have been customers since they open, I liked it for many years and now I feel bad to give this bad review, after many years of ordering since last year they have decreased the quality of the food and customer service, food is over priced with reduced portions and even the seasoninghas change to worst,I used to order delivery every other week and I have always notice they missed something at the delivery, specially salsa, guacamole, lemons, onion etc, every time I ordered I reminded them politely and even when they forgot to send it ( 98% of the times) I didnt complained it. But last week after politely reminded them( again) and they forgot, I called and the person who took my order( a men) and he said ,I did not package it, and I told him, what do you want me to do , if you take my order , I have to give you the instructions to you, I cant call the kitchen or whoever is packing, thats somethingyou have to do, then he said ok we will send you , 5 minutes a lady call and ask, do you still want the salsa or not? it wasnt my fault I am packing now but someone else pack your delivery, at this point I was already upset, because not only they havent sent my missing food but they keep asking if I want it? They dont accept their responsibility, they didnt apologized and they blame each other! Other restaurants even offer you a credit or send you something as a treat to apologize to the customer but they not even say sorry!! I am done with them, after years of ordering, I dont recommend this restaurant even to my worst enemy.
I was disappointed when I received my tostada. 1)The tostada de quesillo barely had any quesillo (or any other ingredient. Barely had beans, sour cream, etc.)2) The price is very high when you take into account what you receive. (Restaurants sell this particular tostada for $3 meanwhile they charged me $4.50)
This restaurant has a very friendly ambiance. Ordered some ribs in green sauce-wow- what great tasting sauce. Also had some oxtail and what delicious tasting sauce. Both platters mildly spicy. All the waiters were very friendly. This is a restaurant that you can say in Spanish-Bueno-Bonito y Barato!!!!
I use to like this restaurant, service , food and the ambient in general but yesterday like other days, most of the times I go with friends but today I went alone so i got a corona and chiles rellenos, i was enjoying the meal, when I saw something black in the dish, it was weird to me so I get closer to the plate and guess what, a cockroach!!!!! I get in shock literally.I talked to the waitress then she called to a girl I supposed was the Manager which understood what was happening then she apologize, she asked if I want something else, I was like 😳 Of curse no! I asked for the check which I paid 00000 just tip to the waitress , because isnt her foul. But I dont want to go back.Well the point of this review is like no la frieguen attention in what are you doing!!
Garbage food! I have no idea how they got 4.4 with over 1k reviews. Worst al pastor taco. A random taco truck is better, super dry on a flour tortilla. The queso fundido con chorizo is was literally chorizo covered in a Colby jack cheese. Torta was dry and lacking in everything. It was just sad pieces of “carne asada” with 2 pieces of lettuce and dry bread.
This place has numerous of Mexican dishes. My favorite are the Handmade Taos with quesillo. They have soup and it’s amazing 🤩 has chicken and vegetables and best of all is lightly seasoned. My kids enjoy the soup a lot. The a la carte menu has reasonable size portions. It remains traditional. Customer service is great from taking an order to go to dining in. They have indoor seating and outdoor seating.
Loved the theme. The atmosphere. It was kid friendly but once in a while theres something going on ( if you know what I mean) and the food was absolutely delish. Looking for real authentic Mexican food this is your place. Would love it better if the waitresses didnt wear such drastic makeup but otherwise the service was good.
Wait time to get your food took about 40 mins the older staff are very nice and try to make your stay a fantastic one the younger staff always have a bad attitude and rude that’s just the customer service heading towards the food the food is good they really know how to use spices and seasoning every time I go the food taste different in a good way which I look forward 2
Love love love this place! Truly where authentic Mexican food can be found. The staff are so lovely, our waiter was truly great with us. A gentleman who walked around, who might of been the owner or manger was also lovely, hed walk around and help clean up after tables. Truly loved the atmosphere, the service and most importantly the food! Will be back soon! Im so happy to have found this place! Highly recommend!
La orden de Maria just today order like at 6:30pm..Disappointed!Chicken torta was dried and bland .. Look like they use chicken from other day..I also order rice with beans.. They were okay..The rest are okay.I went first time to eat long time ago with my family and i order dessert after a plate of food.. They use the same knife as cutting the strawberry but it was wrong and strawberry taste spicy!! Never again!!
Very well priced, traditional Mexican menu. We tried several entrees all which where filled with amazing flavor. Staff was pleasantly attentive even during what seemed to be their busy time of the day. We especially enjoyed Beed fajitas and the tostadas. Will definitely be returning to this establishment.
This is the best tacos place in Jackson Heights hands down. I loveeee their tacos, they are an authentic Mexican restaurant, so they have many Mexican dishes and other selections but their tacos is heaven. Is always delicious, fresh and authentic as it gets. If you haven’t come here definitely recommend!!!
I used to love this place but, last time I went with my husband and brother in law. And the food took so long they brought my husband food and after 30 minutes they brought my brother in law hes food, the thing that really upset me it’s that they take care other customers that they got there after us, that Bartender she was like didn’t care after we wait so long for just 3 margaritas, the “manager “ she act like she didn’t care never going back to this place ! Horrible service 👎
We had the burritos which were absolutely delicious, full of amazing flavor: we got the carne Asada (beef). The chips and salsa were very fresh and the array of the 3 salsas plus bean dip was a perfect start to a great meal. Clean, cute, and fun environment. Great service, food and music!
I called to make a reservation for six and she said they dont make reservations which I was surprised. The server will get lost and messed up our orders which he did took notes and still messed it up. I told him I want the appetizer nachos with steak first and the calamari and afterwards our dinner. Next time we see all the food came?! Also my wife beaded chicken was cold she barely touch it and only ate the rice. We tried to grab his attention he never came by. They can do better but sadly we experience this.
It was a great evening. Or at least suppose to be. We travelled in from Philadelphia looking forward to perform at Terraza 7, one of our favorite venues. We were as happy as school children on the first day of summer until we went to Juquila. After placing our order we received the complementary chips and dip which were very good. If it would have ended there it would have been a great time. After placing our order our waitress virtually vanished. The place was busy, for a Saturday night, some delays are to be expected. After a brutal 45 minute wait and no food our patience dwindled. We spoke with the manager and she went to go verify our order was still coming. Still after 10 minutes no response from the staff. Time is running out at this point and we need to get ready for our set across the street. One of us stays to collect the food. She is able to get it about 10 minutes after we leave. Phew! That was exhausting! At least we have food now right?! Wrong! My order was a joke and my good friends order was missing her soup. My super simple order of a rice and beans burrito with thr normal veggies had about 5% rice, no beans and looked like a microwave vegetable mix from the grocery store. Im swearing off this place and you should too. Over an hour wait for poor food quality and wrong food orders. No thanks! :/
When you understand Mexican flavors, you will not be disappointed. The ambience is perfect. The guacamole is on point. The grilled shrimp is insane. The Chile Rellenos are delish. Breakfast omelettes are to die for. The food here is made with love and passion bottom line.
Probably one of my top favorite mexican restaurant to go to in Queens! Not only do they serve authentic Mexican food, yet the environment is very welcoming. I had their pozole not too long ago and it was the most absolute fresh Pozole ive ever had! I do have to say that it does get a bit busy during the weekends and you will be expected to wait a bit, but its totally worth it. Whoever visits this place wont be disappointed.
Went in this morning for breakfast with my wife and kid , loved the omelettes they make ! The huevos con chorizo with papas de la casa were also amazing ! And the most coolest thing is that their orange juice is really natural fresh made ! Definitely coming back soon .
I went to have dinner last night , I was shocked on how packed it was , I was on line waiting outside and I have to admit it was worth the wait ! Loved the food reminded me of my hometown back in Mexico , service was good and the mezclas they have were really good , bartender was really friendly , I recommend this place if youre really looking for real good Mexican food , no Texmex or fast food , really enjoyed my time 👍🏻
I have to say not only is it beautiful from the inside but the food is amazing , there is no Mexican spots around that are this good , if you live around and youve tried all the Mexican spots you know this is the one , the drinks as well , everybody is friendly , Ive got to meet the managers and they are very nice always on point and always keeping their customers happy , I hope to one day run into the man himself of this amazing beautiful place , they also got a new spot in LIC , i hope and wish them the very best ! 😁😁😁
I love the food here , of course every Mexican restaurant has their own specialty in any course meal , but overall it is good every type of Mexican city has its own flavors , since the name is JUQUILA , I believe they are from Oaxaca , Mexico . Overall great food and drinks . OVERALL , I DID NOT LIKE THE WAY A YOUNG CHICK ANSWERED THE PHONE IN SUCH TONE , I ASKED WHAT IS THE SPECIAL FOR TODAY , SHE LEFT ME SPEECHLESS WHEN SHE READ EVERY ITEM QUICKLY IGNORED ME TO SLOW DOWN . AFTER I ASKED OKAY THANKS ILL CALL BACK SHE SAID UGH, OK I DIDNT CATCH HER NAME EITHER BUT THAT IS NO WAY YOU SHOULD TALK TO A CUSTOMER . ANY WAYS I DID WANT TO ORDER FROM THERE , SO I CALLED AGAIN , I GAVE HER MY NUMBER AND EVERYTHING BUT THE AUDACITY TO SAY OH ITS YOU AGAIN DISQUSTING - she sounded young thats all I can say but so RUDE !

2022-05-07Hidden gem for Mexican food in Jackson Heights. Stopped by for lunch and we ordered grilled steak, chicken, and Al pastor tacos that were so flavorful and juicy! All the sauces were delicious and the guacamole was fresh. Service was very attentive, the food was reasonably priced. Definitely coming back!

2022-05-14I loved the tlayuda, and the tacos were pretty good, especially the tongue, because the beef and pork taco was a bit dry. The portions were generous.

2021-07-09The service was great. The food was fresh and delicious. I love the interior design of this place and the environment is very happy and welcoming. It’s a Oaxaca themed decoration. The chairs are so comfortable and that’s a plus for me. Definitely recommend.

2022-05-06We were looking for a place to celebrate early Cinco De Mayo and stumbled upon this GEM of a restaurant! There are many places to get a taco in the area, however you really get an all-around POSITIVE experience from Juquila! The server who greeted us was so FRIENDLY! She explained that her English wasn’t the best but we managed to communicate well enough. We ordered Al pastor, vegetarian and chicken tacos and a vegetarian burrito. The FOOD was authentic, flavorful and delicious for the most part but the chicken was a little too salty. They have a variety of different food and drinks options on the menu also. Will definitely be returning! Thanks Juquila!

2022-05-19I ordered food for delivery. I sent my daughter to pay for the food and gave her a $50 bill. They delivery guy had to give me 18$ back because it was 32$ total. He only handed her ten and was about to leave but I stopped him and asked where the rest of the money is. He did not assume but thought that he could get away with 8 dollars because there is a 9 year old paying for the food. My daughter said that when he heard me coming he pulled out the cash again. I am a frequent customer and I am very disappointed

2021-05-04Chicken posolo was good. But tostadas and flautas were a joke. I have never see tostadas like that in my entire life that is not Mexican that was what was left over in the kitchen.

2020-01-14Really good place !!! Totally worth it, the service is not the best but the FOOD oh my good! big plates amazing flavor, good music. The variety on the menu is quite wide, I really liked that they have options of natural drinks, several typical desserts and even breakfasts they also have home delivery service in the area and some vegan 🌱 options.

2019-12-24LOVE this place for good tacos. Me and a couple of friends came here on a Friday night after doing a taco crawl from woodside and walking East. This was the last stop of our taco crawl and it was well worth it. We didn’t even have to wait long for a table even though it was already packed. They give you a little basket of chips and a warm bean dip to start. They had entrees and mains but we were really interested in the tacos. We got a selection of them but the must get is the al pastor. They put a little bit of pineapple in there and it makes all the difference. The meat was super juicy and saucy. We also got a side of guac and chips because my friend who had been here before said they were good. The chips were definitely homemade and so crispy. they also give you a large portion of guac for the money. For drinks we got some agua Fresca. The watermelon was ok. the mango one is really packed with mango flavor. Definitely a myst for good tacos in queens.
