Went here as the three of us were craving Korean food. We had the K-, spicy chicken and Hot plates with wings. They were out of bubble tea cups so we did not get a chance to try the bubble tea there. The prices were reasonable and between the wings and the plates we did not leave hungry. I expected a bit more food on the plate as they were not nearly as full as in the other review pictures, and without the wings, would have left us still peckish… we were given nicely pickled radishes with lettuce, though not offered with option for pickled cucumbers and kimchi that other reviews mentioned. I think it was a nice meal, though I would have also liked some rice to complete it. Reasonable prices, pretty good flavors, and to go plates, fitting for a colleg-y town and customer base.
I love kplate! Been going here since it first opened. Kplate has been a staple, I need it at least once a month. Everything is priced so well and its super cheap for really large servings, plus high quality food. I always get the spicy chicken plate, it always tastes the same and quality stays a 5/5. Never change, kplate. You have my foodie heart
It is definitely the most delicious Korean fried chicken I have ever had here in Troy. The wings are coated propetly and seasoned nicely. I personally recommend soy garlic flavor. I also had a short rib plate and bubble tea. The plate was roughly good whereas the bubble was really authentic and fantastic, highly recommended.
Ive been the K-plate since it first opened - amazing and inexpensive Korean food that is insanely delicious. The small menu means that every thing they make is incredible. My go tos are the dumplings, the kimchi fries, the short or hot plate (the runny eggs are always perfect), and the bubble tea. Honestly, K-plate is just my go to. Great atmosphere, super nice servers, and the perfect place for a casual meal with friends.
K-Plate is the best Korean barbecue I’ve ever had, by far. All of their menu options taste great, but my personal favorites are the spicy plate and the chicken wings. Every time I go, the meat, rice, and vegetables taste great and are served quickly, and despite the very reasonable prices for all of K-Plate’s menu items, they’re served in generous potions. Seating inside is comfortable, and I’ve always found the restaurant to be clean and the staff very friendly. Overall, K-Plate is one of my favorite places to eat in Troy
It started as a food truck style place in Troy Kitchen. Its seriously amazing. Now theyve moved to their own location, its nice, roomy, and very popular! You wont be disappointed! Since we arent local, we buy a bunch of plates to go, set the oven to 350 degrees and warm them up for about 20 minutes. And theyre good to go! We go to K Plate every time we come to Albany. Its a great treat. I personally live the short ribs. Need to try the kimchi! Thanks for being so awesome, guys.
Although the menu is very limited, the food at K-plate is good, especially considering the price! I had beef dumplings and the hot plate, which were both good. The coffee bubble tea I had was excellent. I wish they served dine-in meals in non-disposable containers, though.
Simplicity meets Korean cuisine and flavors. K-Plate is one of my favorite restaurants in Troy. Personal favorite is the Spicy Plate highly recommend making sure you get the spicy mayo as well it really makes the rice. The staff is very pleasant and the food comes out pretty quickly.
Food is always great but the service is terrible. I placed an order for pickup and was told 10-15 minutes. I arrive 12 minutes later, wait in line for 5 minutes and then when I tell the guy Im picking up he obviously just goes to the back and puts in my order. I wait another 10 minutes for my food. So basically, theres absolutely no point in ordering ahead. The tables were also noticeably dirty, just a lack of effort service-wise all around. If you dont care about being treated like garbage and like good, cheap Korean bbq food, this is your spot.
Korean street food, limited menu, reasonable prices, sit down or takeout, limited pay street parking. Interior and restrooms could be better maintained but the food quality is good and decent portions. Kimchi fries (French fries topped with bulgogi, cheese and fried kimchi) is something you wont find at a traditional Korean restaurant. Its a tasty snack, filling and a must try. Worth a visit for quick bite of Korean comfort food.
Small menu with a lot of sauce options. Theyll give you an unrefridgerated drink if you ask for one. I never liked radishes until I tried their pickled radishes. Theres usually a lot of students here so if you need help with your math homework this is a good place to go. Offer to buy one of them dinner in exchange for help. Ill keep going back.
K-plate is a wonderful place to grab a filling lunch with friends or to-go. Along with its delicious Korean cuisine, the restaurant sells sweet drinks like bubble tea. The meals themselves are delicious, with some fantastic spicy options. For a good meal expect to spend ten or more dollars. The serving sizes are rather large, however, so you can be gauranteed that you wont leave on an empty stomache.
I went here for lunch yesterday and enjoyed ever bit of my Kimchi fries! They allowed me to taste the Kimchi 1st since I was concerned about it being too spicy. The beef was tender, and the kimchi dumplings (definitely more spicy than the fries) were awesome too! Think Ill be going back there again today. 🙈
More lettuce and kimchi(cabbage) & tiny bit of beef in the plates. A lot of fries with a tiny bit of cheese which was no where near enough more kimchi and of course a tiny bit of beef. If your going to do that you should probably put way less fries. clearly veggies are cheeper then meat.

2021-09-01I ate here a number of time and the food is really good. I normally have the spicy chicken k plate that comes with rice, spicy chicken in Korean red paste, lettuce and options of pickled radish, pickled cucumber or kimchi for extra bucks. I also had the chicken strips. The coating is a bit thick for my palate though. Do try it if you’re in and around Troy, NY

2021-11-15I went there to pick up a delivery order originally, but the food smells incredible so I had to spin back! I ordered the K-Plate with mild sauce (unless they put the wrong sauce on, it was actually spicy). The cup is a side of Sriracha mayo which I definitely didnt need. Then I got the Kimchi Fries with cheese, light on the kimchi. They were delicious as was the Plate. I loved the food and Ill definitely return.

2021-07-09I would frequent this spot if I lived or worked in Troy. The prices were very reasonable, and the spicy chicken had a great spice. The spicy mayo was also delicious. However, a light, cool dressing on the lettuce to cool off the dish would have been much appreciated, since it was a hot summer day. The lettuce with spicy sauce on it really didnt add anything to the dish. My husband ordered the short ribs, and the meat was a little chewy; the chicken was definitely better. Overall, it was pretty good.

2022-05-18I come here regularly for a spicy chicken plate with extra lettuce. I would go here for dinner every day if I could, they just need to offer....*drumroll please*...... brown rice. Sometimes their portions are skimpy if you come at the wrong time. Another time I could smell that the rice was a little burnt, but the sauces cover it up. PLEASE make brown rice though. It would make it so much easier to justify adding you to my healthy restaurant list.

2022-03-02This is hands down one of the best values you can get in terms of quality food and good portions. Seriously underrated establishment here. When they had an Albany location, I would eat there at least once a week.

2022-04-12I go here once every few months for the k-plate bulgogi dish. However, the food is slightly overpriced. The food has simple, but good flavors.

2019-11-26The fried chicken is delicious but the short plate is not worth it. You get barely any food and the beef is a little chewy. Its also not worth the 10 bucks it costs.

2022-01-21The double hot meat bulgogi( I ask for extra spicy cucumber) is my regular order; and I can expect a satisfying serving of beef over rice( with a bit of shredded lettuce.) I can reliably expect quick service, and good food, at a reasonable price.

2017-09-29Just tried this brand new place for the first time. I must preface this review with a note that I have never had Korean barbecue before so my expectations going into this were somewhat unknown. The exterior decor and appearance of this location was very nice and welcoming. The interior decor was absent and left you with a lackluster impression. The menu was simple straightforward and very easy to understand and order from. The wait staff taking my order seemed less than enthusiastic and was unwilling to make a substitution of kimchi in lieu of a side of radish relish. The prices were extremely reasonable, the portion size of the dishes was very nice. The taste and quality of the food was very good. This being my first time time tasting Korean BBQ I genuinely did not know what to expect, I enjoyed everything. This location is on a busy downtown street and parking can be challenging. The lighting inside the restaurant makes it hard to tell if it is even open if your just glancing from moving traffic. Overall it was a very nice dinner for a great price. Something different with a definite eye for quality in the preparation. I will definitely go again. A new business that will be delicious to support and exciting to watch grow.
