Kabayan Grill in other cities:
One of the best Filipino Restaurant in Long Island. We visited this location a few times and will come back again. We surely will recommend them to our friends. We love Halo-halo every summer. Delicious Fresh Lumpia 😋 Good service too. Breakfast we tried including Longsilog, and Tocilog. Love their Sinigang too. Thanks to the owner and everyone whos there serves us all well.
At the moment you enter this place the waiters give you a nice feeling. Very friendly team, it is a nice restaurant to go out with friends and colleagues or with your date. delightful cooking, experienced chief cook and stuff, honest pay and nice service. Warmly recommended.
We found this Filipino restaurant when we went to a car dealership last week in Long Island. I was surprised by how cheap the menu. We ordered combo 2 (rice & 2 dishes). The food is delicious and the staff is very friendly. Definity we will go back if we ever go to that area again.
8/18/21. I was just there an hour ago. KABAYAN GRILL EAST MEADOW BRANCH. I ordered 1 dish menu combo of bikol express and white rice. I asked the guy behind the counter if they have bikol express, he said yes. He gave me my order, the dish he gave me did not look like bikol express, it was not a coconut milk sauce but a red sauce color. It wasnt fresh, the meat was a bit hard but I did not complain. On my way out I saw another guy bring out a newly cooked dish in a tray with coconut milk and asked the guy if that was bikol express and he said yes. So I told the other guy who attended to my order that he gave me the wrong dish. He insisted he gave me the bikol express, I told him it was red sauce which is not coconut milk......I am a person who do not like to argue with people who are used to deceiving customers. I call these kinds of people UNEDUCATED and ILLITERATES. I know he did not give me the correct order of bikol express but there was no point in arguing with him who do not care about the wellbeing of the customers. I will not recommend this filipino restaurant. I am giving this filipino restaurant a very very bad review to warn everyone the kind of people working on this restaurant.
I celebrated my nomination this evening in this gorgeous place. Well we enjoyed a cool evening and the place was undoubtedly the reason for the happy meeting. The team collaborated in a graceful way, the cuisine was very good and my guests were extremely delighted. We shall surely come back again for more celebrations. thanks very much.
What a find!! The food here was so delicious and a lovely family helped my friend and I select our dishes. Everyone was friendly which is a good thing since the tables are mostly cafeteria style so you are pretty near the other diners. The restaurant is not large, its on a main road and has its own parking, always a plus! It also has racks with products to buy and after lunch I bought quite a number of things to try including Ube shortbread cookies and spiced vinegar. I was so impressed with the food that I made a point to go to their other shop in Queens where I bought a number of Filipino desserts including my new favorite, Sans Rival!
I celebrated my graduation earlier this evening in this delicious restaurant. Well we had a fine evening and the place was undoubtedly the reason for this outstanding gathering. The crew collaborated in a sweet way, the cuisine was appetizing and my guests were very cheerful. We shall surely come back again for more joyful events. Thank you very much.
This site is my preferable restaurant. Of all restaurants I know I favor it most. I never miss an opportunity to go to this restaurant. Whenever I I need a decent lunch, this restaurant comes straight to my mind. exeptionalgorgeous and food and a rich cuisine.courteous staff members, and great mood. And very important, the pay is honest. I praise this spot with great pleasure.
Whenever I eat food from this place, the East Meadow location, I get sick ALL the time. This last visit, I was sick for at least 3 to 4 days 💩🥴 Going to a different Filipino restaurant next time..... this was the ONLY place I ate at on Monday 08/16/21 that I got so sick, I had to go to Urgent Care on 08/20/21 when I finally had some strength to go out and get myself checked out.
I love how the food is prepared laid out and individually packaged. You must keep an open mind if youve never had Filipino food before. If youre familiar with flavors herbs and spices you can identify some of them in Filipino cooking. Its very flavorful well thought-out cuisine. It has an on-the-go appeal as well as a place to soak up new customs and atmosphere.
Went to this place for the first time - with my daughter- .We ordered halo-halo, I was a lil bit disappointed for the fact that it didnt taste like authentic filipino halo-halo, they used american made ice cream(vanilla) instead of our very own delicious selecta/magnolia(ube flavor) and used sweetened red cherry instead of the traditional leche flan for toppings. The price($6.99) is a little bit pricey for a NOT-SO-AUTHENTIC Pinoy halo-halo.Staffs are polite and attentive.
For a truly ringing endorsement I took my Filipino friend and she gave her stamp of approval. There are so many unique and interesting things to try. Although the atmosphere is diner-meets-old Taco Bell, you dont go for that. Focus is on Food! The staff is sweet, put forth a lot of effort to accommodate our various allergies. Sizzling Squid is my personal fave but we were a table of 6 and ordered several dishes, all were pleased. The icing on the cake is when they recreate a lounge and turn on the karoke machine. Lots of fun to be had.
Came to Kabayan Grill for lunch with my girlfriend and I must say, it was delicious!!! Everything we ordered was on point. The manager is very nice and attentive. You must have the pancit, and the chicken or pork on a stick. Their tocilog was great as well. It comes with garlic rice that is to die for. Dont forget to try the turon. I gave it five star for taste, quality and cleanliness. Definitely marking this one as one of my fave spots to go to in Orlando.
Highway ROBBERY today..Food is just ok, they have nice asian grocery items, yes...BUT be very very vigilant when paying at the cashier. They do not issue itemized receipt- JUST THE RECEIPT CHARGED IN YOUR CREDIT/DEBIT CARD. This happened to us several times since- but we just ignored it.THIS TIME AN OVERCHARGE E OF 30 USD after computing all the item prices on the goods we purchased + 8.75% tax. 5 to 10 usd overcharges in the past is ok but more than that is highway robbery. DEAR OWNER, PLEASE ISSUE DETAILED RECEIPTS- Items + corresponding price...so bad will never come back!!!
Staff is very rude. I was excited to get a new restaurant in the area. I called wanting to know if I could order lumpias with chicken no pork. The lady answering the phone couldnt give me an answer because she wouldnt let me talk. I asked to speak with a supervisor so I could get an answer so I could order. The lady told me he was too busy. After I told her I am around the corner I could come in then she handed the phone over to the Owner. The owner gets on the phone once again, before I could finish asking about the lumpias he gave the phone back to the lady. Needles to say I never got my question answered and was treated too poorly that I will pass on speending money at this establishment. You would think customers asking to customize a dish do to allergies or religious beliefs would be understandable but not here.SAVE UR MONEY ORDER SOMEWHERE ELSE!POOR SERVICEONLY WANTS TO TAKE YOUR MONEY****BEWARE*****
I ordered Large trays of BICOL EXPRESS, kare kare and BB Q Chicken to find out that 12 1/2 tray length is their Large tray. This is actually fooling people. They should be reported to consumer affairs. They refused to listen to me and do not want to refund the difference. I offered to take a picture so they know. They also refused. They are very angry at me. The worst part is they have my credit card info. This is one of the reasons why some Filipino businesses do not go any further. Hope, this helps open the eyes of others. Not about the money I paid but about principle.
So happy to have a local authentic Filipino restaurant close to home here in Suffolk county. We’ve had such positive experiences dining in - great ambiance, service and delicious food. We’ve catered their lechon kawali and lumpia shanghai- it’s always a hit at our parties. Excited to dine again soon!

2022-05-11Not the best not the worst. Price is decent for portion. If you can’t go to queens for Filipino food this is a good option. Comfort food …they do charge a service charge pay attention to your bill. Avoid tipping twice …

2018-04-08I gave this establishment four stars mainly due to their outstanding staff. They were so friendly and accommodating. I thought the food was okay. Their other location in Elmhurst actually has better food but the service here is much much better. You can buy from the ready cooked options next to the register or you can order from the menu. They also offer different platter specials. The prices are about the same as the other locations. They have plenty of parking which is very nice. And this location just feels cleaner and brighter. Its not as crowded as the Elmhurst location so it feels much more civilised.

2018-09-28My wife and I have been looking for a good Filipino restaurant in Long island. We normally have to drive to Queens to a place that we know has good food. We decided to give this place a try and was not disappointed. My wife had the adobo pork and I had the barbeque chicken meal that comes with rice. We also ordered a side order of garlic rice and for appetizers the lumpia Shanghai rolls. The garlic rice was a little hard but my wife, who is Filipino, said that older Filipinos eat it with coffee as a snack like that. The rolls were really delicious and full of flavor. If you are in the East meadow area and want some good Filipino food I would recommend this place.

2018-01-01Dont bother ordering catering from this establishment. You WILL be ripped off.Trays are offered in three different sizes (small, medium, large). We ordered large trays of Chicken bbq, Kare Kare, and Bicol Express. What we recieved were small trays of these items, and when questioned about the size of the trays was told that these were in fact large trays.I wonder what small and medium look like.I feel like I was robbed.

2021-12-15Very disappointed. After having read great reviews I decided to try it. I ordered online through the app recommended through their own website, they didnt get the order....? No problem, I showed up all jolly anyway and went to show the kid at the counter my order... he interrupted me to say.... after he had called he did get the order after all. Great! I then waited over 30 minutes for soggy, overcooked spring and egg rolls, barbecue that I could see was pre-made and on the steam table and noodles..... did they have to catch the chicken? Make the noodles by hand? Ok, no problem. No apology no sorry for the bizarre wait time, I had ordered an hour before food was ready at this point. Ok. The kicker was the food was under seasoned and not tasty at all! It was all very weird. I am always very hesitant to give a bad review, I always want local business to do well. At the same time.... 50 bucks for 2 apps and 2 mains that were not good and a long wait time as well as inattentive service? You decide.... maybe they were having a bad day?

2019-03-04IM BEEN VERY UPSET WITH THIS PLACE ON MULTIPLE TIMES. As a Filipino and a lover of Filipino food, I really gave this place multiple tries, but today is the last time I eat their food. On multiple occasions in the past when I tried ordering food, whoever answers the phone is just nasty. I understand we all have our bad days, but as someone that is also in the customer service industry, that is no way to talk to someone that wants to buy your food and support your business. Since it opened, Ive ordered from Kabayan probably about 6 times and actually ate there once. I have to admit that the one time I ate there, it was great because I think the owner served my group. However, literally every time I ordered food to take out, it was not pleasant. On top of all that, the food is way over priced. Now on to today, my fiance (who is not Filipino) was over charged for our food. She picked up the food and being the polite person she is and refuses to have confrontation, she brought the food home and consulted me about it. Now this is what she ordered - Panicit Bihon ($8), 6 Pork BBQ skewers ($8 total, 4 of them was a combo deal and the 2 extra were $2+change per stick), and a side of vegetables. Now, Im not great at math, but my fiance paid $35 total, which does not make sense. Knowing my fiance, shes willing to work things out, but like I also mentioned, she hates confrontation and she described the cashier as rude to the point she wanted to just leave because she wasnt treated right. Honestly, I wasnt surprised when she told me that. The cherry on top... I just wanted Garlic Rice with my Pork BBQ skewers.... BUT ALL I GOT WAS WHITE RICE, WHICH EVERY FILIPINO ALREADY HAS IN THEIR HOUSEHOLD.Thanks for opening my eyes Kabayan Grill. You have lost your business with me and will gladly go to Philippine Best in Hicksville to get my food. Its worth the trip. I miss Metro Manila, another Filipino restaurant that used to be down the street.

2021-12-15I learned that the other Filipino restaurant in our area closed. So Kabayan is getting more orders for the holidays. And its opening a new store in Ronkokoma. Yet they havent hired more staff even for just the holidays. This is not good business practice. Overworked, tired staff will result to human errors happening. Studies have proved that . Please hire temp/holiday staff to help up work on holiday orders. Just my two cents.
