What a special little campground that we found! I’m so happy that we chose to stay here instead of a hotel. I booked the 2 cute cabins. They have electric, mini fridge, microwave, a space heater, room for 5 to sleep!!! They were like brand new. Bring your own bedding. Bathrooms right next to cabins. There are hookups available for campers. The shower house is very clean. Freshly painted. We got to enjoy some time with our boys by the campfire, they played football in the open grass. It was so perfect!!! The view of the lake is gorgeous! I can’t wait to go back when the leaves change! Would 100% recommend.
Very friendly staff. Always clean. Great family atmosphere. Sites arent level but not bad. Good fishing. Love it there. Price is great. Showers n bathrooms always clean. Playground n pavilions clean. Great place. Ive camped in tents there, pop up, trailer, motorhome and recently 5th wheel. We keep going back. I camped there with grandparents as a kid, took my kids n now grandkuds.
Very fond memories. Trails to walk with Educational Info posted on posts throughout the trails, near certain trees. Cute stone stairway to walk at entry of trail. Periodic bench seating along the way too! Very nice area to enjoy. Has a very nice Park and good size lot for parking. And picnic/grill areas too.
An absolutely wonderful little campground. The park manager was an incredible help from the moment we arrived (very late I might add, it was after 9PM). Always friendly, professional, and attentive. The park itself, however small, offered a fair sized site, WITH POWER! Not all sites have power but on a Thursday I was able to get an electric site for through the weekend when the neighboring State parks were booked solid. Its a beautiful location, not as heavily shaded as I like but shady nonetheless. The views of the lake are stunning and the park big enough to keep us busy all weekend long. The proximity to Hornell and some larger grocery/retail chains made our trip even that much better. I cannot wait to come back again, especially with their very long season.
The man running it has gotten terrible. Has an issue with kids playing with squirt guns. Although we pay to camp here. The kids need a way to cool off outside. The creek is dried up. Love coming here. Would be better if they enforced speed limit and dogs on a leash on the camping side. People race right down the road past kids and dont even care. Its 5mph!! And loose dogs makes people neurvous.
We liked this park for camping in the past. But we noticed things changed around there.I called to see if they still offered WiFi and they DO NOT! We need wifi to check our business accounts several times a day,So now that they got rid of wifi..no cable tv and even too far out to receive antenna reception,Sad so say we wont be back.

2022-06-21Love this place! , surrounded by nature! Weekends are busy, as expected. Weekdays are so peaceful! Electric hookups only; potable water fill and dump station are on site.

2022-05-04The reason I gave 5 stars is because. My kids LOVE IT there, they like the non cramped park, they like being able to run around and not be ok top of everyone. The wife and I love it also because we love the outdoors and nature. We can go do cookouts there and invite a bunch of people and have a great time.

2022-04-25Loved this place! Pretty lake, and nice green grass. We were located right by the office. Nice guy said it was the most level space in the park. We stayed 3 nights. Traveled to Elmira one day to check out Mark Twain gravesite, and his study where he wrote his books was moved to the Elmira College campus. The college had beautiful old buildings from the 1800s. There are some really pretty homes around that area as well. Then we went to Niagara Falls the next day. It took 2 1/2 hrs, but it would have taken a lot longer if we took the trailer with us, and the gas would have been so expensive. The campgrounds are more expensive out there too. It was the right decision for us. You should try The Village Cafe in Arkport while youre here, the fried fish, breaded steak, and seafood bisque was delicious. Would definitely stay here again. It was so easy to register, and only $25 a night.

2022-07-02We are so grateful for Judy and Roger, the camphosts, and everyone we met here. We unexpectedly found ourselves camping here for 2 weeks because it was close to St James Hospital where I was getting rabies shots. (I was attacked by a rabid raccoon 40 minutes north at a different park.) We couldnt have asked for a better spot to enjoy during a stressful time. As full-time travelers, we dont usually sit still that long but we had everything we needed to be comfortable. Showers, bathrooms, surrounded by the lake and trees, and friendly smiles. This is marked as one of our favorite spots now.

2021-06-06The park trail intertwines with the Finger Lakes Trail and is a moderate hike with rolling changes in elevation as you Trek around the lake. Nice place to walk your canine. Please practice leave no trace.

2022-06-04I go kayaking there. Its a small lake but its close and the shores are shallow with plenty of shade and fish.I talked to a older couple who told me in 72 when hurricane Agnes came thru, the dam was almost spilling over the top. They also told me it used to have a beach a lifeguard and swimming was allowed.
