Kandees hands are blessed. Her braids are firm, but not tight. If you are tender-headed, book with her and any one who knows me, I advocate reviews good or bad.The scheduling can be an issue. You have to schedule on a Wednesday at 7 pm or Saturday at 7 pm. If you go to their site at 7:01 pm, youre out of luck!
Professional clean n prompt with timing...I went a week ago to get kinky twist the lady that was doing my hair had to stop her hands were tired so the 2nd lady didnt pay attention to her parts nthey were bigger but neater n tighter.. It was the front of my head so you can tell two different people were braiding. She also didnt make the braids the same length as 1st lady I mentioned she go the curly ends wont matter but it did.. My hair looks like half of it needs to be taken out or I did half and didnt have time to finish..I lost 3 braids in the back they were entirely too big being that the back is shorter at the nape.. I told 1st lady it didnt look right she go you can part several ways but the center part went onto a curve.. she put it in ponytail. When I took down I could have used 2 braids on each side n front now Im forced to lay them down or it looks like braids are missing.. I thought I was going to have a fresh neat du for new years NOT!!! CONTEMPLATING TAKING THEM OUT A WASTE OF 130$ SOOO DISAPPOINTED...
I am so excited about my box braids! I was so worried my hair wouldn’t be ready for the work week and they were willing to take me same day, I greatly appreciate how warm and inviting they were and I’m just overall impressed. I haven’t been there in years, but I am so glad I was able to make it back to them. Many blessing to these ladies ❤️
I had an appointment for 2:30pm… I arrived at 2:25 pm. My stylist did not arrive until 3:30 and did not begin my hair immediately! I paid a $50 deposit online through zelle, when my hair was finished owner demanded I pay in cash but she never even told me a price . Owner went on about how she didn’t trust me to go to atm and asked me to leave my phone and walk around the corner at night to the atm. I refused to leave my phone and owner asked employee to walk with me . ATM was down so I tried to pay owner through zelle again & she refused it demanding that I walk around the corner again to another atm ! Oh and also I asked for knotless braids.. these braids clearly have a knot ! Will not return .
I’m from Brooklyn and new to Long Island. I was on the search for a local spot. My first time at this spot, I got 2 braids which cost $40. My second trip the salon (less than 2 months later) I brought my daughter; we both came for the same style. We both have natural hair. I was charged an extra $10 dollars for the style despite the hair style being the exact style and my hair texture being the same as 2 months earlier. The stylist was also condescending AF.
Only reason why I feel the need to write this review was because I was told one thing and then was called a liar. My son went to get his hair braided and walked out with a pound of gel in his head with gold hair ties that we did not ask for . That night I get home from work because my BF had taken him and called them immediately because I was literally dissatisfied with the work and the gold tips on a boy , not understanding why that was ever ok. The next day my son’s head was white and I had to take it out. When we spoke she said she would redo it for free of course a month later she does not recall. Just to make it clear my son would have NEVER returned to this place if that comment was never made. Of course response will be they strive for great customer service but next time when you have a conversation with a paying customer remember what was said.
I had a 2pm appointment along with my daughter, got there@2:05pm, went in, my temperature was taken, my daughter and myself sat for close to 2 hours waiting to start our hair, at that point, I wasn’t happy, I brought it to the owners attention, she wasn’t very sympathetic, few minutes later , she took my daughter in her chair, and continued to have me waiting, I know how these kind of operations work, but to be waiting close to 2 hours is unacceptable, finally I sat in a chair, and got started, to my surprise, she started arguing with my stylist, accusing her of wasting time praying, I don’t have a problem with people praying at all, she yelled and was very disrespectful to an elder and that to me was disgusting, I felt sorry for the woman.i was satisfied with my hair, I was dissatisfied with me and my daughter being bumped, for a woman and her two daughters , for monetary gain, because she didn’t have an appointment, we did. Get it together, not nice at all, not good for business. I’m a Professional, I work with people every single day, you must be considerate to other people’s feelings , especially when they’re paying money to keep your livelihood going, I hope she learns from this experience .
I have had my hair braided twice at this salon. I had an up-do replicated from a photo I showed the stylist the day before Mothers Day. She braided neatly and was fairly quick. I loved the way it turned out. And most recently I had jumbo box braids done as a protective style. I love my braids and love that it allows me to get up and go. This salon is run by family and everyone helps or chimes in when necessary. I love how the stylists all join in discussions making everyone in the salon feel included and making the time there enjoyable. They take walk-ins during the week and have a sign in system on the weekends. They leave a sheet outside the door at night and people are to sign there names, numbers and styles they wish to have done. The stylists get in the next morning and start going down the list. I suggest you call ahead and give a sense of what you want and the time frame youre working with to avoid a long wait. Park in the back parking lot which is free to avoid meter maids giving you a ticket or having to constantly replenish the meter. I will be returning after I take out my box braids to try yet again another beautiful style. Thank you ladies at K&D Styles.
Ive been loving getting my daughter and my hair done with these beautiful women for 10 yrs now . They are always fair with there customers first come first serve, very friendly . They will give you the style you ask for and make sure the the right queen is doing it. Ive always recommend friends and family to go to them especially living on Long Island suffolk county. This family owned business is fantastic!! Thank you for giving my hairstyles life 💖 Loraine B
Hello K&D,I visited your hair salon today and was very pleased with the service that I received. I am very happy with my braids done by Ms. B. She was very professional and Fast. I really appreciate how comfortable I felt. I will be coming back. Thank you so much for being so nice to your clients. Staff members are all great. See you soon.
I had a great experience at K&D African Hair Braiding today. I had received a recommendation from a close friend of mine to visit this location in Bayshore. I didnt have an appointment and was able to come in as a walk-in and receive service. The environment was clean, the staff was friendly and professional, and I didnt have to wait long to have my braids done. Aja was my stylist and she was phenomenal! I definitely recommend this salon for braids and look forward to going in the future.
I had the Kinky Braids done and was very concern because my hair was damaged. The Lady at the front desk is so professional and she showed such care and what I was telling her about my hair. She gave me the girl who sits 0ne station down from the counter. She was wonderful, she did not braid my hair too tight and she took care in doing my edges as I asked her to. The hair they used is wonderful. It did not inch at all. The shop was clean and beautifully decorated. I have been going to this shops for quite some time and it has made some really great improvements. The girl at the front desk is I believe the real business women and has done a marvelous job. The only negative I do have is the paper on the door to make appointments. I think calling and assigning the appointments to the girls in the shop is better. I live in another state now, and when I am on Long Island, this is the shop I go to for my twists. I cannot be there the night before to sign a sheet. But the girl at the front desk, she helped me and I was able to get in and have my hair done in the short period of time I was in Long Island. I will be returning whenever I am on the Island. Do anyone one know the brand of hair for Kicky twists that they use. I would really like to buy it. For I do need my hair done again and I really liked the hair. Thank you for any replies with that answer. God Bless!!
I was here Saturday with my 2 little boys, I didnt know there was a policy for little children but I completely understand and will comply if I ever go back. The lady at the desk was nice, asked me if I called and I said yes. I asked to get my dreads retwisted, she worked pretty fast but sitting under the dryer, my dreads were twisted so tight and the clips were burning my scalp, luckily the lady close to the desk readjusted the dryer. I noticed that when I was done and out of the shop, my dreads were not parted with a comb. Also they used typical gel to twist my dreads. My hair today (Monday) looks how it was when I went in. Anybody can twist dreads with gel, but to properly do it is to use a comb and part each dread so it looks neat( like box braids) and use the correct deadlock twist pomade to do the style, Im pretty upset and will be calling tomorrow(they close on Mondays) in hopes of something....anything!
K&D African Hair Braiding -I visited this salon after a very good friend of mine recommended it.I went for some simple conrows. As I waited for one of the women to finish her customer and start with me, there happened to be a documentary on TV. The documentary was about the road system in country X in Africa. As the documentary went on, the women started to make some comments about the citizens of country X. In the beginning those comments were general about the ressources of the country, and about the system there, but then at some point one of the women began to make very demeaning and degrading comments about the people of country X, using words such as ’savages, uneducated, unlearned, low class’ amongst many others. This woman was also the woman who would end up doing my hair.As I went to sit on the chair, she asked if I was from here (African American, or from Nigeria) - my response to her, in English was ‘neither’.As she proceeded to do my hair, the bashing and trashing went on. She went on to talk about the women of country X being easy woman, and how one woman could have 10 kids with 10 different fathers, etc. The woman claimed she had lived in country X for a few years (though the environment she lived in is questionable), and she apparently based her assessment of the country on those few years.Little did she know, the lady on her chair was from country X and understood the entire conversation they had been having amongst them (stylists) in French. This went on for the entire 2 hours that I was at the salon. It was only after she finished my hair and as I was ready to leave that I said to them that I am from country X. At that point, they hypocritically tried to do damage control by saying with big smiles on their faces ‘oh yea? I lived in country X for this many years…’To my surprise, the main stylist with whom I had had an exchange 2 days prior remembered at that point, that I had told her I am from country X, after I had inquired of their country of origin in Africa on the day I first popped into the salon… Yet, she witnessed this entire conversation and participated. No apology at the end.I left and told her, her team and herself are in dire need of some education and self-awareness.People like that are the reason Africa as a continent is where it is today - divided and still struggling as a people.People like that are the reasons Africans do not want to support and help their own people.Africans traveling miles away, but unfortunately taking their destructive ways with them, wherever they go.UNEDUCATED - DISRESPECTFUL - UNPROFESSIONAL - VERY LACKING IN CULTURAL AWARENESSAbout the hair - the braiding was ok. Could use some lessons on how to handle hair.If you just care about a hairdo, do feel free to try for yourself. If you want to support a business ran by decent people, sadly, this is not the place.
Kandi is awesome! She cared for my hair like it was her very own. I have been getting my hair braided for over 15 years and never has a hair dresser taken as much care as she did. She went above and beyond by giving me tips in detail on how to care for my natural hair which is something no one has ever taken the time to do. I think I have found my new favorite braiding salon!
I took my 14 years old daughter to this salon on 4/24/16 because her regular hairstylist (who is located in the Bronx) was already booked. I found this salon by googling braid specialist in Suffolk county NY. I read some of the reviews and was a bit skeptical about trying their service. Anyway, I called to make an appointment and was told that they were a first come, first serve salon. I was told that there would be a sheet of paper on the door and that i should get there about 15 mins before they opened (they open at 10am on Sundays). I got there at 9:30 with my daughter, wrote her name on the sheet of paper taped to the door and waited in my car.. At 9:45 the stylists were all there and ready to start working. My daughter got boxed braids and it took 3 hours to be completed (huge difference from her regular stylist who took 6-8 hrs). They did such a great job and in such a short amount of hours. Myself and my daughter are both pleased with the work they did and we will most definitely return.
I’ve got my hair braided here 3 times. 1) box braids, I received the small-medium braids I asked for but the parts were medium to large. 2) I requested cornrows, showed them a picture of the front and the back of the style and was quoted a price, once the braided started, she said it was too difficult she could not finish. I agreed to a simpler style and they attempted to charge me more than what was quoted for the “difficult style”. 3) cornrows again, this time I showed them a picture of the style on my own head (by a different shop) I was told one price, and when I went to leave, they told me $10 more. Three strikes and your out, I kept trying because they aren’t literally up the block from my house and my preferred salon is an hour away. But NEVER again.
This will be a long review, because I am very pissed off with this place.Ive been to this salon three times since December 2015 and Im not going back again. I doesnt matter how conveniently located they are to me, you will not catch me in there again. My first time there in December is what got me to come back. Like almost everyone, I was skeptical at first because I read the reviews and the bad experiences people were having. I went on a Saturday and arrived around 9:30 am and there were a few people in line, but the women arrived at 9:45/9:50 am. I was seated immediately. The woman who braided my hair was amazing. She took about 3 hours to braid my hair and it wasnt too tight, to where it felt as though I was getting a face lift. My box braids lasted for 2.5 months. My second time there was in February and it was just a horrible experience. I went there on a Saturday again and I arrived at 9:50 am to which they were already open. Although all the seats werent filled I was still told to wait. I did not get seated until 1:00 pm. The lady who started my hair was not the same woman who finished my hair. That ticked me off to no end. The woman who started my hair, didnt want another hair dresser to touch a style on someone elses hair because that was her work. So I was told to go to another seat and have someone else finish my hair. That was extremely unprofessional and by this point I was extremely pissed off. The woman who finished my hair did not have the length of hair that I wanted and kept having to add hair to make it the length that I wanted. The quality was okay, but nothing compared to the first time.My third and last time there was on Mothers Day. I knew it would not be busy. I arrived at 9:30 am and they arrived at 10:00 am. I was seated, however the woman who was assigned to do my hair did not come in til about 10:25 am. The woman who was to do my hair was just plain awful. To start she looked as though she did not want to be there and acted like this was not her job. She asked me what I wanted I told her black and red hair, I only got black. I wanted kinky twist and anyone whos ever gotten kinky twists knows that its similar to box braiding. The woman braided my hair as though she was going to cornrow my hair. They were not braids or twist, I honestly dont know what the hell they are. She parted my hair into big sections, so the hair does not look full. The braids were not tight, and if that wasnt the worst, she had no clue how to set to rods in my hair to curl it. After she finished my hair, I immediately put it up in a ponytail without any type of pain. I should not be able to do that right after getting my hair braided. I immediately knew that this was not going to last. So here we are exactly two weeks later and I look as though Ive had these in my head for 3 months. I am beyond pissed off with the quality and customer service with this place.I am NEVER returning to this place again.I will drive to queens where I normally get my hair done. At least they know what they are doing and the quality far exceeds this place.
Changing my review from 2 stars to 4 as the bad experience I had was clearly a one-time mistake. I gave them several more chances and theyve proved better. Only a couple things I would note: I understand the braids need to be tight, but they should not be so tight that customers are crying. Overall, a good braiding place.
I went to get a medium box braid for my hair. I got in at about 10, and the wait time was surprisingly short (since I had made an appointment a week prior) The stylists kept trading me back and forth, which was kinda annoying. Things were going fine..... Until they all legit stopped working on customers hair to eat Chinese food. I was shocked. I wanted to be in and put, because I had a nail appointment sceduled after, but I didnt get out of there until about 5. The workers would constantly holt working on a client to go converse with each other. When the hair was finished, the woman dipped me hair in scorching hot water, and they didnt even towel dry it. My shirt was soaking and hot. The braids were hella tight as well. My poor edges. I luckily found a new salon in Amityville, NY, with better service, less tight braiding, kinder workers, quicker wait time, in and out service, and quality braiding. Highly reccomend that place. Sorry K&D.
I came in last Saturday for 4 cornrows and showed the lady a picture of how I wanted it. Halfway through it noticed the braids were different sizes and unlike the design in the picture. I asked her to do one braid over and she refused. Instead she tried to finish my hair until I insisted that I was unsatisfied. The lady did it over but it still wasnt like the picture I showed her. Her excuse was, that style is very difficult. She couldve told me in the beginning that she wouldnt be able to do the hairstyle and save me the time and trouble. Thats ok though, if 4 cornrows are too difficult Ill just go to a professional next time.
Great, great authentic Ghanese stylists. They are SO good they need another shop. The wait is ridiculously ALL of 6 hrs. every time, but always upfront about the wait. There is a sign in sheet at the door for the next day. But, it doesnt matter, because that list is long, too. Getting there at 8am didnt help, either. All races are welcome for waves & braids. A Caucasian woman came there, to get her weave track tightened for free & there was no wait for her simple dilemma. Always the best results, though. The prices are reasonable, hence the crowded waiting area. I enjoyed watching Netflix in my car waiting for my daughters hair to be braided. Theres a great diner across the street, too. To kill time there is good food, for this foot traffic area. The shop is on the best side of Bayshore... upscale neighborhood. Parking is not free in the front of the store, but there are plenty free parking lots behind the building. Just clear your day for these awesome ladies with blessed hands.
Yeah, I know its not right to write a review while in the place, but let me explainIm just gonna say, it seems like if you wanna get your hair braided in with extensions, then theyll take ya immediately. If you dont want it, then ya might wanna go somewhere else. I mean, Ive came in here twice within the past three hours-- the first time they were okay with me wanting just my natural hair braided? But thats when my dad came in and I sat down. But when my mom came in ten minutes later, it was kinda different. I think they told her you can come back at two or later or something like that. And then we left, I washed my hair so there were less tangles in it, then we came back. Thats the point Im at now. Im sitting here, and about three people have went up before me. Excuse me if I sound like Im complaining, but it seems kinda fishy lol.- Jayden
The only authentic African hair braiding shop in Bay Shore. The ladies here are quick and do quality work. No appointments! Get to the shop at least 30 mins before they open at 10 AM to stake your place in line. You can bring your own or they provide the hair for you. They will include the cost of the hair into the services. They also do weaves. Fair prices but you can negotiate with them.
K and d African braiding was the first place I went to ever to get braids in 2015 , when I went last time three girls had to work on my hair because she wanted to get food then she wanted to work on an employees hair , they weren’t so in to making my hair right , working fast on me . & honestly it only took a couple days until the hair came up on the top and I’m annoyed cause my sis who did hair for 20 years said she’s mad the ladies did my hair like that I’m very disappointed. Won’t be going there no more for closures
First of all this Salon sucks I wish I can rate it a negative 0 or 0 stars. Nobody knows how to braids like an professional African braider should. Certain people know how to do certain things. Then why open up a salon if you dont know how to do everything a braider should. The bald lady who controls the phone and talks to customers needs to get an assistant because she doing to much & when she did my Ghana braids seems like something I could have done. & the shop in general needs to make appointments so they wont feel rushed and take there damn time doing people hair. honestly if you live in Long Island and dont want to go to Brooklyn just go because these people here arent worth your money. Every single person needs to go back to braiding school and pay attention because certainly they didnt. I highly do not recommend this salon. Save your money.
I literally stepped into the place for less then a minute to see if they could finish braiding my hair that someone previously messed up the night before.Kid you not, I walked in and said good morning to everyone who looked at me with blank eyes and ignored me. The owner I believe, looked me up and down and rolled her eyes. I told her if it was possible she could finish the top of my hair, cut it and burn the ends ( which is standard) she said with the nastiest attitude No we dont do that we have customers, NO. Pretty sure the website said walk-ins allowed and I told her I didnt mind waiting.I dont know what her problem was but she was extremely unprofessional and rude. I asked was there any particular reason (maybe she didnt want to finish my hair because it wasnt her whole head of work) but she just kept saying no. With that being said I took my business else where because one thing I wont tolerate is being mistreated and disrespected for no reason or justification. Thats not how to do business because you never know who is walking in your shop and who else they know - which is very unfortunate for her
If u want to keep any hair on your head do not go here!!! If I could give ZERO stars I would, this place is the worst!!!!! Beside it being unprofessional they have horrible hair practices! We are about to be in 2017 and with all we know about how to care for natural I could not believe my eyes. From trying to blow out dry natural hair, to using a small tooth comb & trying to detangle from the roots instead of the ends. Plus they are over priced for the low quality of work they do. Do not walk, run, skate, levitate or fly as fast as you can away from this place!!!!
This place SUCKS. I arrived at 10:30 and I didnt get taken till 2:30, and when I did get my hair done, the hairdressers were all screaming in a different language, and my hairdresser wasnt even paying attention to my hair, she was brushing my hair until the point where I could hear her ripping out my scalp, then when she started braiding she made it so tight and uncomfortable till the point where I started to CRY. That was the most painful haircut ever, and Im never going back. They overcharge you for crappy braiding and PAIN. I recommend you DONT go there, I would give it 0 stars if I could. They are so unprofessional.
I used to travel all the way to Harlem until I stumbled upon this shop...Ive been going steadily for almost two years...The stylists have always been most courteous, I love the interaction with the customers. Ive had goddess braids, micro. Braids and Senegalese twist thusfar, and Ive always been satisfy with my hair..I want to try the faux locs...
Got my hair in twist, the twist started coming out the next day because they only secured the ends of a few. The owner was very rude to me also. I did not know they didnt take cards so i offered to go to an ATM i told them they could keep my phone with them to insure them that i would not leave completely without paying(i had paid 100 in cash and was gonna pay the other 40 from my card). I went to 2 different atms walking in the freezing cold. Both ATMs were closed. I went back to the salon to ask if there was another ATM i could go to.. At this point they STILL had my phone and threatened to call the cops on me. Also told me they would charge me 140 when i walked in but when i was done they tried to charge me 160. They do not care, they rushed my hair. Some of my twist have braids at the end for some reason and some are just completley not secured at the end. I will never step back into this place again and i suggest you dont.
If I could give this 0 stars I would. Today will be my last day going to this salon. Its unfortunate because this salon is close to me but the workers just dont listen. Number one, I went in asking for short, shoulder length box braids and what did I get? Long box braids. Number two, more than 3 times I asked the braider (who sits at the front with the tv) to not braid my edges so tightly. THREE TIMES. And she proceeded to make small sections and braids my edges so tight that actual tears were coming out my eyes. So ladies, if you love your edges I highly recommend going somewhere, where the workers will listen to your requests. Then, still thinking Im getting short box braids I asked her if she can burn my ends because short box braids with burned ends look better, and what did she tell me? Why its going to ruin the curl when I never even asked for curls. So I said whatever just leave them straight, then when I got up I realized she gave me long box braids down to my butt. Does that sound like shoulder length to you? I refuse to give money to a business that doesnt listen to their customers needs and requests. And please say a prayer for my edges.
Very unprofessional they had me waiting since 11:30 and now its 2:47 and still my child hasnt had her hair braided. They say 1st come first serve yet they took a client before us that walked in after us. Not happy with the umprofessionalism of this place. I will never come back here again.
I Haven’t Had Box braids And years due to the shortage of the back of my hair Finally my hair stared to grow in And Ms Kandee The Hair Stylus she was able to grip my hair and it wasn’t tight at all I love how my hair came out ...she did the bohemian box braids I just want to say thank you for your time and your effort that you spent on my head
This place is horrible ! Sorry not sorry, just took my braids out and my hair fell out terribly ... I told the braider multiple times not to braid my edges when the style was done I had bald spots in front of my hair ! Never again .. I cried until I couldnt anymore.. worst place ever
THIS ESTABLISHMENT IS FAR FROM WHAT IT WAS, THEY ARE HIGHLY UNPROFESSIONAL, AND TREAT PEOPLE, LOYAL CUSTOMERS LIKE GARBAGE, DONT KNOW WHY THEY DECIDED TO LET THE DAUGHTER MANAGE THE SHOP, SHES NOT A NICE PERSON, THEY ARE DISHONEST AND DISREGARD YOUR PLACE IN LINE, TAKING WHOM THEY LIKE BETTER, SENDING YOU HOME, TELLING YOU TO COME ANOTHER DAY, AND THEN WHEN YOU RETURN, YET ANOTHER EXCUSE.....SHAME ON YOU CORA, I REALLY ADMIRED AND RESPECTED YOU AND YOUR HUSBAND, PATRONIZING YOU FOR OVER A DECADE.....GONNA PRAY FOR YOU!..........F.Y.I......THEY HAVE GIRLS IN J.C. PENNEY BAYSHORE THAT BRAID HAIR!
I went there several times and I usually get box braids and one time I went and I wanted Sicily Twist the lady who did it did a bad job and the were falling out twist on top werent even fully done but I usually get good results so I would recommend this hair salons but DO NOT GET THE SICILY TWIST in my opinion
3hrs for box braids....and its on the island this must be a dream Ive gone here numerous times and each stylist has their speciality this shop is diverse and their prices are good a lot of people complain about tightness but they ask if they are hurting you or if its too tight if your tender headed or have baby soft hair you have to be conscious of your hair texture and sensitivity they can only accommodate you so much I have baby soft hair and understand they have to braid tight but I never lost my edges though👍
If you looking hard to get something done well in your beautiful redhair this beauty salon is the one i always go for my braids if anybody not satisfied is better for me because the K&D is always active and crowded the women there are the more concern with the job done plus they africans means that they know what to do with handsAm not going to write this and lieShotout to bay shore K&D salon see you soon tyPraaa

2022-06-26Ive been coming to K&D for about 12 years now and Ive never been dissatisfied with any of the services Ive received. If I have an issue, I only have to speak up and its resolved then and there.Over the years, Ive done twists, human hair box braids, crochet, weave combos, goddess braids, cornrows... Each and every time, the stylists were quick, neat and creative and the braids lasted quite a long time. As long as you are transparent regarding your needs, wants and expectations, you will be matched to the stylist best suited to your needs. In each of the photos attached, I came to my appointment with no less than 5 online pics, each representing a portion of the style I was trying to create. They understood my crazy and put it all together PERFECTLY every time! Most importantly, during this pandemic, Nawa and her staff have taken every precaution to keep their clients and employees safe while still providing the best service possible.Love you ladies!Chenique

2022-04-28I was excited to come here, wanted to love it so badly but my experience turned sour quickly. I asked about a hairstyle she told me it could be done if I got the hair, I left and got the hair 4 packs to be exact and spent $35 of my money on the hair I purchased. I returned waited for about an hour, finally sat in the seat and the lady that was about to do my hair was telling me how my hair could not be done with that hair. I immediately started feeling upset, why would you tell me to purchase this hair and the style I asked for couldn’t be done. Long story short I asked them to just braid my hair for crochet and leave like two rows out for single box braids, the lady braiding my hair had an attitude about that. Just for foundation braids alone was $45 and then I was told when I come back to do the crochet it would be $165-$180. Why would Bob length boho braids cost so much? I’m sorry but, I wasted my $80 (on hair that was not used $35 and for foundation braids $45) and still didn’t get what I wanted. I was just over this place. I came home and decided I will be doing my hair elsewhere, or by myself. They do good knotless braids but this places wasn’t for me.

2022-05-03Unfortunately, My experience was horrible from start to finish. I called the day before and was told to arrive at 8:45AM because it’s first come first serve, mind you the place doesn’t open until 10:00 AM. I stand outside from 8:45AM until 10:00AM when they open, only to be told to come back at 1:00 PM because they didn’t have enough stylist working. So I leave the salon and get a call at about 12:00PM and now the stylist is asking me to come at 2:00 PM instead.I finally get started on my hair at around 2:25 PM and the lady is slow and back and forth playing on a cell phone. On top of that I asked for medium sized knotless braids which they explained to me my hair was to short for knotless and they suggested regular box braids which I was okay with. What I wasn’t okay with was when I initially asked for knotless the stylist that I was assigned started laughing and complaining to another stylist that my hair was to short. Making me extremely uncomfortable, she was so insensitive and didn’t even take a second to think maybe my hair is cut that low for a medical reason or something personal. And last but certainly not least, when I sat down in the chair I was told that the medium sized box braids would cost me $220 which I was okay with. As soon as I was finished she changed the price to $250. It’s not about the money it’s the principle, if you tell me a price stick to it especially when you waste my entire day! We agreed on a style, length, & price at the beginning, if the stylist couldn’t do it for $220 then I should have been told before she completed my hair. There was absolutely no respect for my time. I’m a hard working person and I don’t have a whole day to waste in someone’s salon because of short staff and unorganized planning, I would rather you had just told me not to come and save me the horrible experience.

2022-04-27The styles here are great! But the key word is styles, not protective. I am now cutting all my hair off and wont be returning to this business, but thank you for having me look glam while I had healthy, thick hair! The braider I had was Dee. Ive had box braids bobs before that didnt tear my hair out, but I guess this is not the case with this business!

2021-12-22First time coming here. The staff ran a little late. BUT.. the owner was EXTREMELY apologetic, and very very professional. My only issue was the lady who cornrowed my hair was a tad bit unprofessional. For one she kept saying I was being to picky. She asked me 5x what kind of cornrows I wanted. I wasnt being picky. I was a paying customer who wanted the cornrows a certain way for a U-part wig. Secondly, when her co-worker decided to come over and chat/gossip her her language with the lady braiding my hair. Her mask was under her chin and she was standing EXTREMELY close speaking to the lady braiding my hair. That made me feel a bit uneasy considering the high rise of covid cases and spit droplets in the air. Additionally, the woman who braided my hair decided to make comments about a bald spot in the middle of my head. She stated allot of Americans seem to have this and made a reference that I didnt have enough hair to cover it. How she said it made me feel like I didnt have hair and it was very insensitive. I just hope she doesnt do that to all her customers. Overall the cornrows came out good. But I could not give 5 stars for her conduct.
