I have been going to Karma road for a long time and their food and service is amazing. One time I had a chocolate coconut shake that had little bits of shell in it. I called them and let them know, not expecting anything in return (It was perfectly edible). The next time I went in the owner, Seth, gave me a free shake even though the price had gone up. They are super friendly and non-intimidating for the non-veggie crowd. All around GREAT food and experience.
Every time I visit home, I need to stop in here. They have my favorite sandwich of all time: TLT - Tempeh Lettuce Tomato (They also make a breakfast version of it with tofu scramble). So much flavor in every single bite with the crunch of the lettuce, the thickness of the tomato, the softness of the bread, and the flavor of the bacon tempeh...you simply can’t beat it.As vast and densely populated with restaurants as the Big Apple is, I haven’t been able to find a TLT like it.
Absolutely incredible!! Had the bodacious burrito and my partner had the TLT, both were delicious. The bodacious burrito is large and filling - could be good for 2 people or one especially hungry person :)Definitely eager to try more dishes the next time we’re in town. Thank you!
I was so excited about this restaurant and looked forward to eating here. I called to place and order and asked specifically about Gluten Free options. The gentleman walked me through what was available and I ordered a gluten free sandwich and cookie. Due to COVID, everything is take-out. I picked up my order and walked to meet my family. I opened up my sandwich and began eating it. I started getting sick and looked more closely at the sandwich and realized it was regular bread. I immediately called and told them I thought I had a regular sandwich. At first the man thought I was mistaken but then realized I was correct - I had sandwich bread and the gluten free option is a wrap. He immediately remade my sandwich but the damage had already been done. The sandwich was really good - I fed my first sandwich it to my daughters who are not gluten free - they highly recommend it. My GF cookie was very good too. I would recommend this restaurant but be very careful if you are gluten free and triple check what you receive.
The place has cob webs and dust bunnys everywhere. We waited 30 min after being told 15 min only to find out they put out food outside on a rack... the outside seating in near the dumpsters...food was lack luster and they used canned sauerkraut. 11.00 for a soggy slice of bread with canned sauerkraut.. never again. The best part of this was helping someone decide not to eat here. FILTHY.
Stopped by to grab some breakfast. This place is very unique, staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. I have a mustard allergy and forgot to mention it until I noticed my dish had some in it. Chef and server immediately offered to make a new dish without it, and were very understanding. Food was delicious, portion was perfect, coffee was fresh. Very much recommended! - note that this is a vegan/vegetarian only place
Great, fresh, healthy food that always has you leaving feeling good and satisfied. Love their freshly made smoothies in the summer and fresh made juices in the mornings. The plate lunch is great for a quick, healthful bite. I bring my dog, she likes to get the sweet potato flax biscuit lol. Great people too!
While I love the thought of a vegetarian deli, karma road fell short for me because of their chaotic service, cramped space, and limited menu.Part deli, part cafe, part smoothie shop, karma road seems to suffer from a bit of an identity crisis. The menu board is poorly organized and difficult to read. The food quality, however, was outstanding. Once you manage to figure out what it is they sell and how to order, youll be rather pleased with what theyre serving up.
My wife and I stop here every time we go hiking in the area. Everything that we have had here is great, but the vegan (and gluten free) pizza is amazinggggg! You have to eat it with a fork and knife, but I actually prefer this pizza to almost any “real pizza” (and I really like pizza!).I think anybody can enjoy this spot whether your a vegetarian or not. ✌️
I love Karma Road! Their food is excellent. When I was first brought there I expected the vegan food to be flavorless, but wow was I wrong! Their dishes are great. They blend all the right spices and seasonings so their meals and dishes are packed with flavor. They make a blackened tofu that you can add to any dish or even to their salads. The blackened tofu is one of my favorites, but their soups and salads are great too. Their Kalacado salad is amazing- if you thought raw kale has no taste then you have to give this a try! Then besides tasting great, turns out they source their ingredients sustainably, locally, and organically! In addition to this, their staff is excellent. Good friendly servers who know exactly what they’re serving and what goes well to match it. This business has a lot of heart and will look out for their customers no matter what. If you’re in New Paltz, give Karma Road a try, you’ll be glad you did!
Excellent vegan food. This is my favorite place to grab breakfast and coffee on the way to climbing (and maybe a sandwich or muffin for lunch). Their breakfast burritos/wraps are really good. The space is nice and sunny, and if youre ever there on a warm afternoon, theres an outdoor deck. No bathroom but you can go to Rock & Snow or the Annex across the street while youre waiting for your food.
My favorite place to go when I visit new paltz. I would recommend the Cilmbers plate for breakfast. Especially if youre going to have an active day, it will fill you right up! The staff is always friendly. Their menu changes everyday, but they have blackened tofu pretty often and its amazing. They have pretty good soup and baked goods too. Ive been there more times than I can count and Ive never had a bad experience!
Overpriced vegan friendly food which is not that great. Kale salad was literally just kale and a few nuts. I was hoping for a good mixture because kale by itself is very rough. Tempeh I ordered wasn’t heated through and tasted like warm/cold and I didn’t go back to reheat because they close at 6. The total for two things was over $20! Not sure how much a side of tempeh was but salad was over $10.Not worth the price...
If I had wanted to eat limp iceberg lettuce, random bits of kale and sad carrot smeared with tahini dressing, I would have been a happy customer. If Id wanted to eat overly salty, flaccidly uninspiring soup, I would also have been happy. However, I had taken my brother to lunch - his falafel wrap was inedible - and thus I was extremely unhappy and will never return. (Which wont be hard, because Im visiting from Australia.) Deeply resentful doesnt even begin to cover how I feel about paying around $60AU for a lunch that my eight-year-old could have eclipsed using one hand.
High quality food for very affordable prices. Menu options are so flavorful & delicious that it is easy to forget how healthy & nutritional the ingredients are. Juices are delicious & energizing. When the food selection is not a big enough reason to visit, the friendly attentive staff & welcoming atmosphere really make Karma Road a destination.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE (Did I say LOVE?) Karma road! Fresh, organic, delicious food. Vegan/vegetarian. Awesomeness, made with love. Best place in New Paltz to eat. Fabulous owners, and employees. You can always ask for a sample of something to try from the deli case, and their Soup of the Moment is always delicious, and I always buy a couple of large containers to take home and freeze. Many gluten free choices. Their OMG Chocolate cake is OMG delicious, and their muffins are scrumptious! Their sweet potato biscuits are a crowd favorite.Their smoothies are fantastic, and their prices are reasonable! Coming to New Paltz? Stop at Karma Road.
More than just a cafe, Karma Road is a way of life. So you spent the night at snugs, maybe even slept in your car despite the cold mountain air and lack of a blanket. Worry not, karma road is there to fill up your water bottle, provide an outlet to charge your phone, reset your chakras, warm your every precipice, and feed your belly as well as your soul. Till death do us part, karma road.
Placed order at 2:15, was told it would be ready in about 15 minutes. At 3 pm, after keeping me waiting outside for 45 minutes, they came out to tell me they were sold out of everything Id ordered. COVID, busy, whatever, theres no excuse for that level of incompetence and disrespect for customers. Never coming here again.

2022-02-23I grew up in New Paltz since the 90s and have known about Karma road for a long time but today was the first time I ever ate it. I had the Baked Tofu Sandwich and it was one of the best sandwiches with the most flavorful pesto I have ever had. I am sorry I never ate there earlier. It completely makes sense to me now why they have been open for so many years.

2022-05-02A top 5 favorite place to eat in the Hudson Valley for me. Food is always fresh and delicious. Everyone is always happy and accommodating. The brown rice bars with peanuts and chocolate chips have to be tried. Slaw is a go to along with the brussels and tofu.

2019-09-07My boyfriend and I got the same sandwich- I think it may have been a vegan BLT with tofu scramble. So good! And the salad was delicious. Also got the PB & J smoothie, very good. The place is small but theres a few tables and chairs to sit at. Despite the business when we were there we didnt have to wait long at all for our food.

2022-02-19Ive tried so many things on the menu and theyve all been a 10/10. This place is great. The only sight inconvenience is that they take a long time. I always order ahead and still have to wait past the estimated time. Not enough to knock off a star. Just FYI if youre in a hurry.
