The food is always amazing! Weve been going there for about 12 years, and the service was always excellent, but this last time we went a week ago the service was lagging behind. We didnt get all the food until we asked for it. I hope they get back to the way they used to be.
I really enjoyed my thanksgiving dinner meal here. All the portions were extremely generous and flavorful. The waiter was very service oriented and was very prompt to take our orders and brought out our meals in a reasonable time frame. The place was crowded overall but it was understandable considering it was thanksgiving holiday. I wont hesitate to recommend this restaurant to family and friends!
Incredible Kosher restaurant hidden in the Upper West side of Manhattan. The Chef has created a menu with flavors from just about every country in and around the mediterranean. They now have dine in and a sidewalk enclosure for sit down service. Amazing steak, seafood, etc and everything is Kosher!
First off the parking is a bit painful BUT the food is good. I would have considered a 5 star but honestly I feel like its way over priced. One taco is 3.25...burritos around 9 bucks a much better value but still could have gone to King Taco and paid 7 bucks for a burrito and same quality. The place is small and is much more suited for to go vs dinning in.
Great place, but for some reason the chicken soup on their lunch special menu is more expensive than on their main menu. They are the same size...Watch out for that...Aside from that little bit of skulduggery, their pastrami beef rolls are superb and you cant leave without trying one of the burgers. Coleslaw is solid as well
Really fantastic food and service. My family made a party there recently, with a group of 20. The manager was extremely helpful, accommodating all our special requests while keeping the price pretty reasonable, and the food was absolutely delicious - I particularly recommend the meat cigars and all of the steak options! Waiters are friendly and came to check on our table pretty frequentlyWe had a lovely party and will definitely be back.
I ordered from this place and never received the order. The delivery person delivered to someone other than me. I was forced to sit on the phone for over 40 minutes as the manager called and interrogated the delivery man. I was told that we had the food when we most obviously did not. Then they told me they would refund me and they did not. I called 2 other times and again was told they would refund me and they did not. Each time I spoke with them they repeated the fact that their delivery person delivered the food as if somehow delivering it to someone other than me, who paid for and ordered the food, meant that I should pay for the food. Did they not believe me? Did they just think that if it was delivered to anyone that this was my responsibility? I cant answer but it seemed that this argument regarding having delivered it SOMEWHERE meant that I was responsible even though the food NEVER CAME TO ME and my family. I might also mention that we therefore did not have food that night and didnt realize this till about 945 pm. Ultimately, I had to get seamless who was the delivery service to refund me because Deli Kasbah obviously was unwilling to do so. This is INFURIATING as the bill was high and they refused to take responsibility for not properly delivering it and then CHARGED ME AND REFUSED TO CREDIT IT BACK. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS PLACE. THEY ARE NOT HONEST. It is not the responsibility of the ordering person to pay if you do not deliver your product. Why this is even an issue at all is beyond me.
Service was extremely slow n it was empty at time. I waited so long that I asked them to wrap up 1/2 my sandwich. Got outside n so poorly wrapped it opened n fell all over.Called the manager & he was very gracious he offered to replace lose.Management is excellent. Cant wait to share their food with friends
Was looking forward to lunch here, but was let down a bit. Acceptable food though may not warrant the price point on the steak. Service was ok. I asked how a specific steak was or if it was well received and the server said he didn’t know and just stared.Went at 2pm during the week (only one table was occupied), and got an air of annoyance from the server and the managers (whom were just sitting on their laptops). Beware of the messages you send to your customers if you wish to have their repeated business. There are many steakhouses and kosher restaurants in the UWS and Midtown with better service and food for the price.Best of luck to you all, however.
The food is always grilled nicely and flavored tastefully. Portions are large. I had half chicken with green beans and mashed potatoes as well as boneless chicken tenders. I have enough for a second meal, for sure! Price mat seem high, but decent for the portion size. Kosher friendly.
The food was delicious, fresh and plentiful. Service was excellent!! We had a party there and the staff was extremely helpful with menu planning, service, setup etc. They were so accommodating and friendly. They kept on asking us if we needed anything. They couldnt do enough for us. I highly recommend them and would definitely do a party there again.
I love this place and go way too often. their burgers are excellent but definitely try the steak sandwich if you can its amazing. Some nights it can get crowded so making a reservation before hand is a good idea. Staff is friendly and accommodating. never had any issues.
So so so glad this place turned out to be everything I was hoping for. I live a stones throw away and knowing I can cross the street for delicious well price food in a nice environment with a nice staff is definitely a plus.I forget Im down the street from my house when I eat here. Nice ambience, intimate quiet low key. You can tell the staff cares and are more than willing to help you with any questions. One actually ran out of the restaurant one day when we left our sunglasses behind.Obviously the draw here is the food. Im obsessed with their pastas. I want to try every single one and then eat them all over again. The ravioli with pears and cheese is just so refreshing and different. Ill tell you now if your partner orders the lasagna you will find yourself with your fork in their plate.Very welcome addition and the fact that it is always packed says something.
Consistently great food and service! Weve been here several times over the past few years and have always enjoyed steak, lamb, and other dishes. The chef and staff are very accommodating of low-carb requests, and the restaurant is suitable both for a family dinner and quiet date night.
Bad service, poor qualessity food ,presentation was lacking appeal. Overpriced and poor timing. We were seated 20 minutes prior to two tables, they received their food before we did, another couple sent their burgers back 3 times. My salad was anemic looking, did not receive dressing ,or condiments . Requested it, waited 10 minutes as my dinner mate did not receive his order. We were seated in a corner, basically ignored. I was hoping that I wasnt being discriminated against as I was clearly a minority in this crowd of diners. The waiter did not represent the food he was lackluster in describing the pastramt iti - it not lean or thin. Implying get something else. He did not offer anything but looked annoyed. It was not pleasant. Perhaps he did not like it when asked to clean the floor by the table. He gave me a stack of napkins to clean it. No offer to dispose of soiled napkins. Now I wonder what how he observes hand hygieneBecause it is a kosher restaurant, it may be overlook, definitely not on my list to bring anyone or recommend .
Really great food except for the salty factor it was some very good meat. I suggest having the crispy chicken and the fudge cake (i dont know what its called) and yes it is a bit on the pricy side but its really worth it. As I am not a New Yorker and as I come from a small city in Canada I dont get to eat meat that often (because its not usually kosher) but this was a very nice meal.
I never knew about this gem until a few weeks ago. This restaurant is really delicious and the waiters are ever present. Cost is good considering what you are getting. It is all enhanced by the saturation of Chabad culture on the restaurant with TVs displaying videos of the Lubavitcher Rebbi.
An existing heavy New York restaurant dates back 30 years and that means a lot, the restaurant probably belongs to Chabad guys and therefore the restaurant is kosher in Mehadrin Hasharon and has a lot of Chabad movement characteristics. The place is not very big but there is plenty of room to sit and almost always the place full of people. The food itself is great, the heavy American food lovers will enjoy every bite of the restaurant, huge steaks and juicy burgers, real sausage, sausage just as it should be in short real culinary delights. The price is not cheap, the service is fine and there is room for improvement. Cleanliness in place requires improvement
I ate here about 3times with my brothers and sisters. I got to say, the food was amazing and really good. Hands down one of the best places I been too. I will be coming back once again. Thanks to the staff & wonderful service I am sticking to this place for a long time
Wish I could give this place zero stars! It is overpriced with disgusting food and terrible service. I took my father and aunt here for their birthdays and what a disaster. I have been here before and the prices have always been outrageous for the quality and service they provide, but this time it was an all time low. The meat and chicken were the worst I have ever tasted and served with a sad piece of tomato and lettuce. It seemed like the waiter quit in the middle of his shift and at one point, it seemed like the whole restaurant staff were panicking, almost like the kitchen help quit. Avoid this horrible place at all costs. What a ripoff. I guess that they feel that they can serve you anything in the name of being kosher. There is a limit to even that. YUKE! YUKE! YUKE!

Best burger of my life. Soooo juicy. Came here recently with my friends Avi and Simcha. The managers Yossi and Henry are super nice. And the waiter Albert is a true professional who knows what on the menu will best satisfy you. Yummy desert too. We will definitely be back.
Kasbah has excellent food: appetizers, entrees, desserts. I would eat nearly everything on their menu. And all that comes at the most reasonably priced restaurants on the UWS. The only drawback is the noise. If youre looking for a quiet meal, this is not the place for you.
Waiter was spacey and rude. I took off my coat and sat at a table. Waiter slinked over and whispered if I wanted anything? I didnt think it was in a subway station. Verybodd. I felt unwelcome. Then he slowly brought me the wrong menu, dinner, not lunch. It was 2:30pm. They need to train their help or at the very least wake them up. Owner sitting in back oblivious. Maybe he thought I wasnt Jewish. Big no no. I am.
The kitchen I may imagine is the worse because I ordered on Postmates and I got my food an hour or so and I live across the street from that place, the postmates driver let me know that my food is still in process and it took 50 minutes for hin to confirm the order has been picked and that finally it is ready, the postmates driver I can’t believe he had enough patience to wait that long but really if you want your food to be late order from them
Best burger of my shortish life, hands down. Mic drop.Ordered appetizers that werent mind boggling (surprising because I usually love apps) BUT!!!! Then came the burger and ribs combo. I made sure to come on to GKRF and look for food reviews and recommendations prior to going. my date had no problem with tasting my food but didnt bother letting me sample his chicken wrap. at least one of us ordered right. Lol. oh, and the onion rings were winners too! as always the service left much to be desired but I will sleep very well tonight with dreams of perfect burgers!!
Great food and good delivery. The atmosphere is great if you are a little more religiously inclined or a fan of the Rebbe. The favorites of my Chavruta group would be the Rumaki with Hamelech Burger, Philly Steak sandwich, or Cajun Chicken Avocado Wrap. Be warned: nearly every sandwich has caramelized onions in it.
I experienced the worst customer service in my life..twice. Ordered on seamless, after 2 hours waiting, the guy taking orders on the phone makes every excuse in the book as to why our food was taking so long. I called back again after 2.5 hours and he made more excuses, maybe the doorman didnt let him in, maybe its raining. How about admit when youre wrong that you never actually placed the order in the first place, and dont wait for customer to call back a second time to tell them that well put in another order. Food finally arrived after 3 hours.
I ordered a falafel and a cucumber avocado roll. The falafel was pretty alright. It came with two very hot pita breads on the side which was great. In addition to israeli salad and a portabella mushroom, which I especially liked. I wish they gave more of the portabello mushrooms though. Now, onto the sushi I ordered. It came on a nice wooden tray with 4 designated areas for wasabi sauce, soy sauce, and spicy mayo. The sushi tasted pretty good. The waiter was very accommodating to our requests.Overall, I would recommend this place.
Boy ohh boy! What a fantastic kosher restaurant in the heart of the upper west. Everything is delicious, I usually have such a hard time figuring out what to order because there are some many options. Jerusalem Mixed Grill and the Mosheach Bone in Rib Eye are favorites tho. It’s also a BYOB place and there’s free desert with a devar-Torah! Highly recommended!!
I had been here once before -- had been feeling really sick and was in desperate need of some matzah ball soup -- i.e. Jewish penicillin. Kasbah to the rescue!!!Just recently, I had my birthday here and Kasbah was very accommodating for a group of approx 20. The King Moshiach steak was ridiculously awesome! Royalty was definitely a good description of the experience. We had a mix of coworkers and friends at the table and all had great feedback. Will def be coming here a lot more often.

2022-02-11Youd never know how outstanding the food is here, until you get your plate. At first glance you may think this is Jewish educational center set up like a restaurant, due to the way it is decorated but I can ensure you, they know that how to prepare a steak! The place is very popular due to their incredible food. Make sure to call ahead!

2021-07-08Prepare for a culinary experience.First, you will enjoy a 50 minute quiet wait for 2 dishes in a nearly empty restaurant. Then, (I hope you came full because) you will receive your overpriced and under-plated dish.

2019-11-29I was pretty disappointed with this place. While some of the food was ok other parts of the meal where really not great. With all these great restaurants even kosher available within the city I probably would now not come back here.I will say I dont go to kosher restaurants too often but parents where in town and they only eat kosher so we hit up different spots. I was super excited for this place with its positive comments. So what was good: The hummos, pita, turkey shnitzal and fries. So what was bad: short rib, sweet potato, green beans (cold), chicken shish. The service here was alright. When asking what the best sellers where our waiter just read off the entire menu, not really helping with the decision making. The restaurant its self is a bit boring inside with not much character Im sorry to say. It needs a bit of life added back in. Plus the TVs showing whatever was on didnt enhance my expirience, personally I think it took away from it. But each to there own on this one.All in all some of the food was ok but there are to many better options that I just cant give this place more stars.

2019-11-29Excellent service. The short rib starter was undercooked and chewy. The falafel and pita very good. The complimentary coleslaw and pickles very good. My schnitzel and fries was hot, fresh and tasty, with the platter only spoilt by the cold runner beans (which al 3 of us had). My dining companions fared less well. The chicken kebab was very dry but the Israeli salad good. The schnitzel and pastrami sandwich ok but the baked sweet potato underdone.

2018-07-04We had a good experience at this nice rusty place. We tried the Kasbah tower from the sushi menu and the rib eye steak, both were good. Desert wasn’t a hit, but wasn’t bad either. I think they don’t serve alcoholic beverages, at least I didn’t notice any on the menu and I forgot to ask about that. The waiter and overall service was good and decently priced (the restroom could be cleaner, though).Chabad music plays quietly and two screen are showing old farbrangen clips with the Lubavitche rebbe and other Chabad stuff. A paper with d’var torah was also prepared on every table.

2018-10-28It was good but could be better. Kitchen did not listen to any requests, such as to toast the bread on the bun.
