Jonas is an absolute master, and a sweet man. I had a beautiful two-piece ceramic bowl that belonged to my mother. The two pieces were attached by a metal clasp so it would click open and shut. One day this summer, my son ripped it open and broke the clasp. The two pieces came apart. I had no idea where to turn. A Google search led me to Kathe’s. I called and spoke to Jonas. After I texted him these photos and described the problem, he said bring it in, he’d take a look. I finally brought it in on a Friday. Three days later I got a call. My mother’s heirloom was back in one piece. Jonas did it—on a Sunday no less! It cost a little over $100—pricier than I expected but that’s because Jonas had to spend three hours soldering it (or whatever he did), and hey, time is money. I will remain a faithful customer of this talented, old school master jeweler.

Amazing experience that we happened to be lucky enough to stumble upon. Great, non-pushy but attentive service. Even assured me the decision must feel good and they’ll be open tomorrow (it was for a wedding band). Found the perfect vintage Tiffany band that I love, for half what online used stores are selling similar Tiffany bands. Very special!

Jonas and his family were amazingly helpful.I came in because I had a bracelet that needed a few links removed to fit better. The shop was well staffed and I was helped quickly! The rep clearly and quickly explained what would happen, how long it would take, and what it would cost (very reasonable).The next day, I came in to pick up the bracelet and Jonas and his son were happy to help me. I even bought a beautiful pair of turquoise earrings that I loved and were a great price. They have so many great pieces on display!The staff was incredibly friendly. You can really tell this is a family who cares about the neighborhood and has been here for almost 30 years. I will absolutely be coming back here for any and all jewelry needs in the future, and I strongly recommend them to anyone whos looking for a jeweler.

I sent my fiance here based on yelp reviews to have my wedding set sized. Although I gave him my size, the jeweler there insisted that he could not size it without me there to verify size. Seems helpful enough except that we were close on time and would not have rings ready for the wedding. I travel for work and what was suggested and demanded of us was not possible given our time line. We got married with the ill sized rings. However since jeweler assured us that once I did come in to confirm size he would be able to turn over quickly we decided to visit the shop a week later. He immediately began asking me of my ethnicity, asking if I spoke Spanish while attending another customer. I didnt think much of it at first but when he finally came over to attend to us his tone took a harsh one, he said he needed 5 days to complete the job. (he originally told my fiance now husband same or next day), and he added an additional $40 to the originally quoted repair cost. When I asked him why he had changed the price and timeline, he became very aggressive, suggested we were poor and petty for not just accepting the price increase, said he had mortgage to pay not a lease, and went as far as to say that he was not married for that very reason, he divorced after a month because he said women were difficult and unreasonable. Then he said he would do it for the original price and insisted to my fiance that he was being generous and understood that although when he was 21 he owned a mustang, most young people these days dont know how to earn a living. I was left speechless for most of this exchange. After all, this is an older individual and I was stunned at how quickly and unprovoked this person became so nasty and aggressive. This went on relentlessly, he insulted the quality of the ring, suggesting stones may fall out, justifying the price increase etc. (This ring was a handmade one of a kind from an established Jeweler in the West coast). He insisted now that he would take the job at the original price, but persisted in being rude and dismissive of me and slinging insults. Needless to say, we did not leave the rings there. I cannot speak of the quality of the work. What I can say is that the Jeweler there was mean and disrespectful. And in terms of price quote and timeline for service what you get depends on your ethnicity and the mood of the day. The other people there were very polite and tried to compensate for his demeanor by complimenting the ring and congratulating us on the way out. Also, store seemed to be filled with interesting vintage pieces that I may have consider purchasing. But for obvious reasons, I will not be patronizing this establishment anytime soon.

The only place in the state I trust with my jewelry and repairs. They are honest, detail oriented, and have fair prices. Oh and I love visiting the store. They have so many hidden gems (literally).

I purchased a pair of beautiful earrings from Jonas and they were fairly priced. I had a neutral experience and cant attest to any negative or positive customer service received during my visit-- business is business. Jonas Sr is a good man overall, although he can come off direct, irritable, and moody depending on the customer hes dealing with. #40MilAndCounting

I went to Kathe’s to have my great grandfather’s ring downsized. I saw they were highly recommended and I can see why. Jonas took care of me right away and sized my finger. He was very kind and sweet and really respected me as a customer. A few days later the ring was available for pick up. When I came back Jonas fitted me with my ring and gave me the gold that was cut out. I was very impressed because I was expecting a seam but there was nothing in the ring to show where it was sized. I’m really grateful to of found Kathe’s and would come see Jonas again!

Extremely talented jewelers! Friendly, family owned business and it shows; great service and reasonable prices.They sized my ringer fast and without issues, whereas when I got it sized in larger corporate chains, it was always a problem. They told me that my ring was difficult and would need to be welded! Jonas did it without a single issue.Support these guys, they’re a gem.

Brought a watch bracelet for resizing. They were super nice and only took a few minutes. The price was great as well. Would definitely recommend!
