This food is horrible. The candy yams weren’t even sweet. The max and cheese was all soggy and the chicken was tasteless.
Best Jamaican spot in the hood the food always great quality and fresh never had a problem ordering from here. The people mad cool and friendly and they make sure they give you good portions. Love the fact oxtails , jerk chicken and curry chicken everything is good and taste like real island food 🥘
The food was prepared in a timely manner and the prices are decent. However, it lacks serious flavor! Very bland I even feel a few items were undercooked, so I put them in the oven. I highly doubt Ill ever eat from this place again.
The worse jamaican food Ive ever had. What a waste of money. No flavor ate ALL! Taste like they were cooking food for a health conscious individual(no seasoning). The mac and cheese taste like just buttered noodles and the oxtail was tough and had no flavor
The food green were dry it didnt have any taste the fish had no seasoning and the yams werent sweet at all, even the young lady at the counter wasnt pleasant at all.

Ordered here from uber eats. I got the oxtail with rice and peas with Mac and cheese . The food is bad. The worst Mac and cheese this is sad. Im food the Caribbean I know Caribbean food and this falls far from it . I would post a picture if i could.
Just received my order from Uber eats and it was by far the WORST ever ❗️😢 I’ve received a headache from the first bite ❗️❗️ The curry chicken wasn’t curried , the Mac and cheese wasn’t even Mac and cheese ❗️The yams were boiled , tasteless ❗️The fired dumplings , I could brake a glass with ❗️. I’ve never ordered from an Caribbean restaurant and received such food before . This was ridiculous and I really wished I would of read the reviews online before ordering here . If I could give this place a negative 0 I will ❗️
Smh smh smh food is terrible,everthing was dry,yams taste like its from canned goods as well as the mac n cheese and collar greens also no flavor and the fish taste like they put all the season in the world on it salty.Never again.

I’m currently living in PA and once I come back to my home the BX it’s a MANDATORY stop at Kaylah’s Hut. The Best Oxtails that’s going to leave your mouth salivating for more so your better off ordering twice. The BEEF RIBS will slide off the bone with ease and I’ll guarantee you’ll be licking your fingers. Came wait for another visit back home. First stop Kaylah’s Hut!!
The food is great but the plate sizes are questionable. Hows the hell is the $8 plate bigger than the $10 one ? Besides that the food is great.

2022-07-15I got my order and it sucked my collard greens didnt have flavor and I mean no flavor my Mac and cheese look like it was a box one the only thing that tasted good was my bbq chicken ... this was my first time and my last time I will order from here

2022-01-02I was so pleased to see that a Soul food restaurant was opened on 1/1/22 . The food arrived promptly, I liked that as well, so I could get my grub on. However, this food should never be considered Soul Food, EVER!! It tastes absolutely disgusting! The only thing that was prepared decently was the fried chicken. The collard greens were bland having no seasoning at all, the Mac and cheese was sad and disgusting, no way was it baked, no cheese, no nothing. The candied yams were a disgrace, no flavor. Im just not understanding how things went so wrong for all 3 sides? My son stated the only two things that were edible on his plate was the barbeque chicken and the white rice. He stated the collard greens tasted like tree leaves and the Mac and cheese was a mystery g go . Listen Im willing to come to the restaurant and give pointers and advice. Because I dont want this food to represent Soul Food. Please reach out to me. I will seriously stop by on a weekend and cook & show you how its done. But I will never purchase food from here again. I take my 💰& my food very seriously. Smh

2022-01-06No seasoning. I ordered candied yams, got a cooked, cut up sweet potato. Ordered mac n cheese, received cooked macaroni noodles with NO cheese.. The oxtails had more fat than meat. I will NEVER order from this restaurant again. Food was just disgusting. A real waste of my money 🤮🤮🤮

2018-04-20The food was the worse Oxtails I have had ever! DRY, BLAND, TASTELess food. I would not recommend eating food from this establishment. The Bottles of Juice were the only thing that got a pass and I bet they order those from off site. Your choice dont say I didnt warn you! THE YAMS AND COLLARD GREENS WERE SAFE PROBABLY CANNED OR FROZEN!

2017-08-24Kaylas Hut always has freshly made Jamaican food. From the curry goat and chicken, to the stew beef, to the plataños, to the rice n peas, to the cabbage and collards to the beef pattys.This place is the most authentic Caribbean join in the Prospect ave area. They have great multi-tier lunch specials ($5, $8, and higher).I work at a school nearby. They always have friendly service and great food, which makes this one of my favorite lunch spots

2020-07-24The food was horrible. The Mac n Cheese taste like noodles and water. There’s barely any cheese on it. The Collard greens were disgusting and the jerk salmon was seasoned well but it was so dry. The reason I gave one star is because I had to select something in order to leave this review. I will never order from here again. I don’t care how hungry I am.

2020-04-08I really wish I could have given it no stars. The worst soul food ever. I had shrimp, bake mac and cheese and yams. The shrimps werent bad. However, the macaroni was just elbow noodles with butter and a few sprinkle of cheese on top. Like whaaaa? It was white and I should have known it would have been trash. Then the candy yams... why they play with the food like that? There was nothing candied about them yams. It was just boiled sweet potato with nothing else. Not even a hint of vanilla abstract. Ill advise against ordering from here.

2018-08-26The food was so bad. I wish I would’ve read the reviews first before ordering. I had oxtails, Mac and cheese with yams. I thought the prices were great until I got my food. The Mac had NO CHEESE, the oxtails were tough, and the yams could pass for boiled carrots. Not good, don’t waste your time.

2018-09-12I’m sorry to say that the food was not very good AT ALL. I ordered a fried chicken dinner and a curry chicken dinner thru Uber Eats. The fried chicken itself was just okay but the macaroni and cheese was horrible. There was no cheese and the macaroni was bland. The Collard greens were bland and tough. The Curry chicken tasted burnt and it had all of these little bones in the chicken as if they had scraped the bottom of the pan to gather enough chicken Particles to make my dinner. The sweet Plantains were good however. I hope that this place will read some of there other reviews and revamp there recipes. I actually wish I would have read the reviews before ordering.
