My Seamless driver went to pick up my order and Keg and Lantern had given it to someone else and couldn’t track it. Rather than fix their mistake and replace my order, they told me it wasn’t their problem and I had to call Seamless to hash it out. The rudeness of the bartender who answered the phone will not be soon forgotten. If you want to Otto I will a place that cares about their customers, skip this one. They only care about not being accountable.
Great food! The Mac and cheese, beer cheese pretzels, wings, chicken sandwich and the steak..... Basically everything on there menu is the best I definitely recommend going here for any occasion! There drinks on the other had they were good but when we all got shots the liquor didn’t taste right, either watered down or cheaper liquor inside but there beer is good! But I do RECOMMEND BEST FOOD EVER!
This is the second time that I went here. I love the beers here as they brew them in the basement of this place. The flavors are brilliant and the IPA s are very good. They have rotating beers all the time and it has been a different and good experience every time! We got some chicken wings and a pretzel to eat and both of them were really good as well! I love the ambience and the vibe of this place! I would defiantly come back here to try more beers!
Beer is really great here. Always a nice selection of draft with often pretty wild flavours. Prices are really fair, happy hour is good (5 for a pint!), and the daily food deals are great. Lots of the food here is surprisingly good - the wings are tasty as are the burgers. Nearly always packed with people, but loads of screens and always a mix of sports on.
Had such a delicious lager here, but I cant remember the name! Hopefully when I come back to this amazing joint Ill ask the bartenders which one it was. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The mood inside was lively because of several football games going on at once, so if youre looking for a place with TVs, the walls are lined with them. Or, if youre into a HUGE collection of beer cans, the walls are lined with them too...
This place is a really great, chill sports bar. It gets pretty packed for football games and other sporting events. There are lots of TVs, so its pretty much a guarantee that your team will be one of them. The drink prices are very reasonable, service is fast and friendly, and its got a pretty solid selection of bar food to keep you going. Theres a covered back area with picnic tables, and also sort of a separate side room with board games. Never had a bad time here!
They offer a pretty decent selection of bar food and specials. I was there Tuesday, for 1/2 off chicken wings, tap beer, and wine. They have a pretty good selection of beers on tap, some of which are brewed on the premises. They offer seasonal brews also. The food and drinks were very good and the price was reasonable.
My first time in Brooklyn I went here on a whim so maybe I have a good outsiders perspective. Ive been to dozens and dozens of breweries. Selection is good for a small place. Crowded and kinda cramped at first, around 9 pm but it calmed down. I imagine most of these places are small and they try to cram a lot in, not unbearable just tight. Dimly lit but the bar seemed cool and nice enough. Ordered a chicken sandwich price was reasonable and the portion size was larger than I expected...I guess I was thinking NYC so small plates? Anyway food came quickly and was very good. Bar staff was reasonable attentive but not annoying. Overall a good experience
The beer is ok, the back patio gets extremely hot and theres no ventilation nor any air flow and the roof panels intensify the greenhouse effect. The nachos i had were extremely bland, borderline tasteless with very little ingredients on them. The servers are polite but uninterested and detached.
Been going here since it was called Barrons. The food is always great, as well as the service. Never been disappointed, seriously, and Im pretty hard to please, especially all of the time. In fact we still go there occasionally, even though we no longer live in the neighborhood.I guess if I had to complain about something, it would be the beer prices are a bit steep, outside of happy-hour, IMHO. And much of the clientele is now composed of people I really rather not have anything to do with. But good food and good service always trumps hipsters & douchebags.
Kinda disappointed by my pickup order, the wings were anemic, tiny, dry, and under sauced. IMHO they source their wings from the same vendors as some of the cheap bodegas in the area (they were that bad). Fries were just as disappointing. As a bar, theyre probably great, but not for pickup - especially at the price point.
Solid nachos and wings. lots of TVs for sports. outdoor spot is nice. very small town feeling, friendly staff and customers for the most part. not the cleanest tables and bathrooms, but its manageable. consistently good bar food and tons of beers to choose from. enjoy!
Cool płace to hang out. Good Service and menu is awesome. Realny good kitchen. - very creative and taste is unforgettable. You can stay and watch sport or shows that you like. People make parties there and look happy. Good vibes. Plenty of drinks and beers to choose from. It’s open till 4 am so after midnight visits are quite frequent. I will always recommend this restaurant.
Among the many Brooklyn bars serving over-priced generic beers is this local brewery serving up quality $5 pints. They brew a decent selection ranging from hoppy IPA to crisp lagers and barrel-aged sours are available, and the locals know it as this place was packed for Sunday football. Thankfully, they have two indoor seating areas (one by the bar) and an outdoor patio that’s covered. It can be a challenge to track down a server for food, so arrive early if you plan to eat. Otherwise, enjoy the brews and laid-back atmosphere.
Great beers, first off. Had a nut brown sour for the first time ever. Delicious. Went in a Sunday afternoon and had the roast beef dinner with root vegetables. Almost as good as the beer, especially the gravy. The Yorkshire pudding was a valiant effort but feel a little flat (literally and figuratively). But next time Im in the neighborhood, I will absolutely stop in again. P.S. good number of TVs for sports watching.
I really love this place. the beer is more than decent at a decent price although they recently hiked up their prices. All the food is really good, wings and pretzel are dank. Just a cool place to hang and watch sports for a while.Edit: this place used to be good pre-covid, now some of the new staff is rude and not understanding. I tried calling for 45 minute before my order was due couldnt get through on the superbowl. I get that they are swamped but Im not going to walk there and not have my order ready without confirmation (they are swamped so how do I know my order is ready). Finally got through and they were very rude about not picking it up on time and said they called me, it was the wrong number. I said I will pick it up at half time, please make a new batch. They didnt and were disrespectful when I came. Im done here, used to be my favorite place.
Im not a huge sports fan, however that being said the bar is well stocked. Offers some pretty darn decent wings and offers the standard fare one would expect at a sports bar. This place gets packed on Friday and Saturday nights. I would suggest heading here for after work drinks during the week.
The fact that this place has 4+ stars honestly baffles me. While the beer selection is good, the food is just passable. Additionally yhe service is horrendous; both food and drink take a very long time and servers (multiple, on different occasions) do not bother to clear or check on nearby tables within their section. On top of this. Their point of sale system is wting, meaning that when servers enter food into the system, customers are charged for the incorrect amount. We had to ask to have our check revised twice, once because the server charged us full price, instead of for the daily deal, and a second time because the amount in their system was wrong. I will not be returning here.
The best chicken wings. Great selection of beer brewed on site, friendly, attentive staff, all menu items exceed expectation. Highly recommended.6/23/19 Still giving K&L 5 stars but today’s brunch staff were horrible. I noticed the green eyes was being served in a different glass than usual and asked if they had switched glasses and the server coldly replied, “they’re the same size” and walked away. Later, a woman pointed out that the lemon in her bloody was dirty and the server tersely asked, “do you want another one?” Later she whispered the story to her colleague in front of the woman and said that she had dismissively replied, “okay” when the woman brought it to her attention. One big reason to visit K&L is for the friendly staff. “Bartender AM 200” (on the receipt) does not uphold K&L’s friendly culture.9/22/19 Once again the women working brunch were inattentive. They spend time behind the bar chatting while a restaurant full of customers waits to be served. You must do better.
After just moving to Greenpoint a few days prior, I was luck to stumble to this place looking to catch some football. I found out they brew their own beers, have probably more than 20 different kinds on tap, and they have coolest canning machine behind the bar to take some suds home. Im a huge critic on food, and I dont think Ill find a place that inexpensive and that delicious and well made. I havent tried. This is my bar now.
Been coming here for years. Beers have always been okay, but they have a good wing special. But what really turned me away last time was when one of the managers/servers bumped something in his front pocket hard into my knee as i was seated at one of the bar stools while he passing buy. It didnt hurt that much, but was a significant bang. At first I didnt think he noticed but he looked back to see me rubbing my knee to ease the pain. The next time the server walked by, then friend I was with mentioned that what happened, not in a rude way, but just so he was aware that he had something in his pocket that was bumping into things. The server was snarky replying with oh should I empty my pockets? And following sarcastically with maybe Ill just stay behind the bar. It wasnt meant to be a confrontation, but more as to make this guy aware of his surroundings. We got up and left. I wanted to leave a poor tip, but I know how that effects the rest of the staff, including our server who was extremely attentive to us. But I can say I wont be coming back to keg and lantern.
Stopped by for a few beers while they were showing some college basketball games. The vibe was chill and laid back, which was the primary requirement at this time. Having said that, the beers were all tasty, if standard, fare that a microbrewery will offer. Bonus points for high ABV and using imperial pints!
The green eyes ipa was excellent for a home brewed beer. Everything else was underwhelming. The food was tasteless, including the waffle fries. The rest of the home Brewed beer was as expected, watered down. The wait staff was rude. The atmosphere is nice and the patio outside is perfect for a fall or spring evening
Pros:- great atmosphere- pretty good selection of craft beers- very reasonably pricedCons:- kind of congestedOther:Its a place to hang out with a bunch of friends or even make new ones. TVs and music are not very loud, which in my opinion is very good. You dont have to scream to the person next to you to have a conversation.
Been here a bunch of times and all were good experiences. Had the Proper Salad, Mac n Cheese, and french fries. The proper salad comprised of mixed greens, goat cheese, almonds, and picked onions, in a raspberry vinegrette. The mac n cheese was creamy, not too salty. And the fries were amazing, of the freshly cut and fried well done variety. They were great just on their own, no sauces needed. Had a few IPAs , which were outstanding. The Gastronomical IPA is what the seem to always have and its a very good beer.
Decent place in Greenpoint to stop and grab a few beers. Keg & Lantern brews their own beers --- Green Eyes IPA is definitely worth a try. The bar itself is nothing too special, just like any other bars in the area. You can catch a sports game or two in their big screens. Not a fan of the crowd later on the day.
Ordered pick up and was shocked at how disappointing our food was! We ordered nachos and the inside out grilled cheese with waffle fries. The nachos... we know that obviously they’re going to be bar nachos but sometimes that’s just what you’re in the mood for! Idk what picture that is of the nachos when you scroll through food and drink, but that was NOT what we received. Barely any cheese which was over done and not fresh guac. It was like the toppings were sprinkled on with toddler hands and boxed up. Awful :( the inside out grilled cheese I was super excited for cause the picture is drool worthy. This was also overdone and didn’t even stick together! How does cheese not stick together in a sandwich?! The waffle fries were alright... to-go fries are always a risk but I expected a little better. The pickle was great! Lol. But overall a complete rip off and Applebee’s woulda been a cheaper and sadly better choice...I understand a lot is going on right now but as a restaurant staying open during a pandemic... we expect if we’re going to support local spots, that the quality is exactly as it would be during regular operating times or at least close to...just saying!
We started by ordering food that never arrived. We all ordered flights but two of us were charged for pints instead. This almost doubled our bill and we left hungry and unsatisfied. Unless you like overpaying for craft beer while watching football, we cant reccomend this establishment. 12/29/2019 7:00pm
The beer wasnt bad, but the food is what kept is to be honest. Had Buffalo wings and Yakitori wings. The Yakitori had peanut crumbles and scallions on them. The slightly spicy honey sauce that comes with it perfectly compliments it. The ranch that came with the Buffalo wings had this amazing cheesy tang to it and we found out it was spinach. SPINACH. No idea how that flavor came out but Im so glad it did. Will be back for more wings next time were around!
We asked for loaded fries and were charged $15 for a very sad plate of fries with some cheese and onion straws on them. Granted we asked for them without seeing the menu price and the server asked if we wanted the short ribs or chili on them and we declined both, but the server said nothing that it would cost the same! Even with the chili or short rib it would have been a very sad portion for the cost! Then we saw the cost of chili fries on the menu outside for only $12!! This place needs to get it together. Also, since the brewer changed, the beer just isn’t as good as it used to be. This place has gotten way overpriced and disappointing.
Really cool brewpub in Brooklyn. Their Jet Pack DIPA and Green Eyes IPA were some of my favorites there. Also, the wings were great. Perfectly cooked and great flavor (garlic parmesan). 50 cent wings on Monday from 2-10pm which I thought was a good deal for being in the city.
Hands down the best food in all of northern Brooklyn ... for a sports bar ... Said with the most love in my heart. Seriously, the veggie burger A++, the PRETZEL!?! OMG.... beer selection always on point and the staff is STELLAR. SO MUCH NEIGHBORHOOD LOVE FOR THE KEG!!!!! xoxo
Bad experience with billing. I go to this bar at least 2-3 times per month. When closing out, waitress states I had a billing issue over a month ago. I try to ask for the bill to rectify the situation but the waitress was very nasty and said she had to pay it so doesnt have anything to prove it. I tell my friend whats going on and the waitress jumps in on my convo to say, I dont have the receipt anymore. Really bad check out experience. Make sure you keep your receipts.
Excellent food and service, my friends are here all the time to watch sports I don’t even like but the bar is good enough that It’s always a good time. Sometimes I burn out on the noise but then I just go take a walk around the awesome neighborhood and come right back.
Good beers, the food terrible. I had chicken buffalo wigs, The wings was super fry and dry, they send me the wings with out sauce, I asked for buffalo sauce, they charge me for size of super saltie sauce. The beer battered fish, was the same terrible, wait almost an hour for sad and saltie food.
Ive just left a 1 star review to the other place on the same street and it reminded me about Keg & Lantern. This is the place I always feel welcomed and this is the most important thing about any bar or restaurant, I think. One of my favorite spots in Brooklyn definitely.
I was made to feel unwelcome here for using the term litre instead of quart while ordering a take away beer. Its quart. This is America jeered a patron to which the bartender snickered and humourlessly said I agree. Ive lived in this neighbourhood for seven years, and this was a rare genuinely cold experience. Hey guys, this is New York, one of the largest melting pots of different cultures in the world. Have you noticed? Do you want to see my Visa next time? Thats OK, there wont be a next time.
1st of all, without Katie, we would not have a good time. She knows her beers, she is very nice, she has a very nice personality, and nice looking too!! She chose a flight that was not hoppy, and she hit the mark. The 3 of us almost regretted eating someplace else, because we would not have minded ordering food from her. So my flight consisted of Golden, Poorman, Grisette, and Zebra. My favorite was the Golden. It was crisp and clean and drinks really well. Katie came to check up on is from time to time. She worked quite a few tables. You can tell she is not a complainer. We ordered some wings, which we had naked and they were really good. They came with celery and buffalo sauce. I texted my bros, and I got a response they want to come here in 4 days. If we are fortunate, Katie will be here to take care of us as she did tonight!
Greenpoint needs a sports bar. And if you want something a bit more intimate (and a little less typical sports bar) than Red Star, Keg & Lantern is your place. This place -- with its seriously wondrous aluminum can-adorned wall -- always has a fantastic selection of seasonal beers priced super reasonably, and while the environment can definitely get fun on game day, it never gets douchey. They have plenty of TVs broadcasting a variety of games, so every fan is happy.Plus the have an intimate back room where theyll broadcast other important events (read: presidential debates), so its awesome theyre catering to the neighborhood in that way (also good for parties!). At Keg & Lantern, youll get a mixture of old Polish men from the hood, plus your typical Greenpointy yuppies (I mean that lovingly -- guilty as charged).Definitely a place to check out, even if youre not looking to watch the game.

2021-07-19We visited this place for 2 Euro games, including the Euro 2020 finals. We had excellent experiences on both those occasions.Typical bar food, excellent beer menu, and good cocktails. All this comes with excellent service from their friendly and welcoming staff!Specific shout-out to our server/waitress Marissa for ensuring that our pitchers were always full and that we had a great experience! Will definitely visit again and will recommend to friends and family!!!

2022-05-27Good food and beers but it’s hard to believe that during a playoff game, with 95% of the patrons watching the TVs and committed to the action, that the bartender refused to turn the music off. You’d think a sports bar would turn on the play-by-play instead of the same 5 Pavement songs…

2021-01-26Wonderful selection of draft beers. Heating lamps in the backyard keep you nice and cozy. Havent tried too many things on the menu but its a good selection. Sweet Potato Fries are delicious. I suggest you throw in that extra .50 cents for the Chipotle Aoili. Prices are reasonable and service is good. Tried their Bourbon Wings on 1/21/21 and they were 😋 delicious. (Not sure if they are called Bourbon Wings or Jack Daniels Wings, but whats in a name? 😉)

2021-05-06I hope to revise this review should I have more time to spend at this location. I only had enough time to get a 4 pack of 6 Feet Apart (IPA). The place holds great promise as much as their newer location in Red Hook.As regards to 6 Feet apart, one shouldnt be shy about trying it. Inch closer to the can and drink the IPA. 6 Feet Apart is a nice example of India Pale Ale.

2018-09-04Best sports bar in Greenpoint. Their food menu is surprisingly on point with some of the best wings in the game after the loss of Matchless last year. Great for a chill time out back as well, but if you go on a Sunday get ready for a big crowd watching a variety of sports games.

2021-09-20Went in for some of that famous Brooklyn craft beer and was not disappointed! Great beer menu, the daydreamer pale ale was the most interesting beer Ive ever tried. Fans of red wine will appreciate that one just as much as beer lovers will.Didnt have any food this time but looking forward to trying it on my next visit to New York!

2021-09-24I love this place for all my public viewing needs! They have awesome drinks and offer pitchers, and the food is great too. Ive been here for playoff games, football Sundays, birthdays, etc. Recently we asked to air Survivor on Wednesday night with sound and they were happy to have us with a decent sized room for us and any other patrons wishing to watch Survivor.

2022-04-03Has beer, full bar, cocktails, and food. Great place to watch sports, with a large indoor area and (heated) patio.

2017-12-24Pretty good beer selection and multiple TVs for football. Burger was good too. The girls that work at the bar though... more interested in their phone than anything else

2022-05-15Very small and fills up fast, but the service is extremely attentive. I did’t get food but I’ve heard it’s good! Look good too!
