Kennedys in other cities:
Delicious food and beautiful ocean views. I went with my boyfriend for an outdoor dining date. The tables were decently spaced apart and the servers wore masks which was great given the current situation. My only complaint and the reason for the 4 star review, is that one woman dining a few tables away from us would continually get up without a mask on and light a cigarette which she would smoke under the tent for a few minutes before moving away from the restaurant. This happened 3 times during the hour we spent at the restaurant. My first thought was “ewww I’m sitting at this expensive restaurant and all I can smell is cigarette smoke.” But beyond that I was worried that she was blowing smoke so close to us given the fact that COVID 19 could definitely have been transmitted to us if she had it. The staff saw this happening but didn’t say anything to her. My boyfriend and I just ate our food and left as quickly as possible. I loved my meal and will definitely be back but only once indoor dining opens up so we don’t get into another inconsiderate smoker situation.
A good place to try now that outside dining is an option. Eating on crowded city sidewalks is not really an appealing idea. Here you eat on the side of the restaurant right near the sandy beach. Beautiful view, ocean breeze. They have set up a floor and canopy tent.We did the earliest seating for dinner to avoid crowds. Even on a Tuesday the tables were full by 5, but they are reasonably spaced apart. The sun was up and quite strong. I would opt for the tow of tables further under the tent if youre there at that early seating time. Now that Ive seen Im comfortable with the set up in terms of social distancing I would go later to see the sunset and it would not be so hot. The food here is good, not great but okay. Cocktails good, service good, views beautiful and unfortunately for now the health and safety becomes my number one concern and for that Kennedys outdoors under the tent or by the patio is a good choice.
Excellent food, well prepared and presented in a gorgeous scenic location, but you park for what you get, and dinner for 2 without alcohol was $220. Live music by 2 above average singers doing all the great American songbook standards Id definitely say its worth it for special occasions. and their catering room and service is highly recommended.
Went down to celebrate with my family and left disgusted and disappointed. The service was dreadfully slow and after waiting 40 minutes between ordering our food and the first plate coming. Then we had to wait another 10 minutes for the rest of the food to come out. The food was just thrown in front of us and it lacked any presentation. The prime rib, which was a special, was raw. The management just stood there asking if we wanted anything else hoping to milk more money out of us. We wanted to get up and walk out right then and there. Our night was ruined. The management was spineless in this dealing with the situation. They also did not check our vaccination cards upon arrival which is a requirement in NYC.
Awful food, prime rib brought out raw. Poor presentation and the servers fired the food down in-front of us with no care. Management did nothing to right this problem and hid after for the rest of our time there. Would not recommend to anyone with tastebuds or any expectations of customer service
I ordered 2 appetizers, scallops and mussels, as a dinner. Both were way over salted and essentially ruined. My wifes cod was similarly salty. Really disappointing. Scallops also were slightly overcooked but seem like they would have been ok if not for the salt. Rolls were a little warm on the outside, cold on the inside and butter was rock solid in a serving dish. Another companion got the chicken, which was good. Coconut shrimp was typical.
Excellent dinner! A bit stodgy, but no one looked twice when I walked in in a t shirt and shorts. Prime rib was amazing! Portions were perfect. Had just enough room for dessert. Flourless chocolate cake! Bam!! A great, relaxed dinner by all accounts from my fellow diners (family! )
What an awful experience. was at a birthday party and I order as my main dish seafood over linguini and so did two others. when my came out, it was half the size of the other two. when I showed the waitress, she gave me attitude and said so you dont want it. o I sent it back. I told her I dont want anything. 20 minutes later the manager came and apologized, which I appreciate. even told me the chef didnt see my dish go out but when he saw what I sent back, he would not have served it. which I appreciate that the chef understood. unfortunately the waitress had poor attitude towards me through the rest of the evening and made me feel uncomfortable.
So disappointed...from the terrible margherita, underwhelming appetizers(we tried six of them),dry red snapper, over cooked rubbery filet mignon and lamb chops to the pasta that seemed like it was cooked 3 days ago. No one in our party of 8 finished a plate and we all left feeling ripped off. Dont let it happen to you. I really dont know how this place has such good ratings.
This place is horrible. This was a terrible place the food was dry old and disgusting. The food was overpriced. I paid for a filet mignon that was $52 which was just A piece of rubber with fat in it. The service was terrible I had to ask three times for whatever I wanted until they finally gave it to me. And management doesn’t really seem to care. Also I thought it would be a great place to go because of the sunset but there was big piles of sand blocking the view. Also the cold food didn’t come till two hours.
I just dont like to give 5 stars. Service was adequate. Views from the beach are great. The fried calamari was very good. My son and I shared the tomahawk for 2. Ordered medium rare. Wasnt red enough for us, but was good. They have a fairly good beer tap selection. Overall a good experience.
Great outdoor dining by the beach on a beautiful night. We had the 815 seating and had a little wait but the service was great and the food was really good. Had mussels appetizer which was awesome and the shrimp risotto with scallops. Really good and a hidden gem in NYC
Lunch was lovely, though a little noisy. They had the sliding doors open to the wonderful view of the bay which did make it a little humid. The food was excellent. Delicious French onion soup nice and hot and beautiful spinach salad with blue cheese, honeyed walnuts. Dessert was nice keylime pie.
Food is out of this world cooked to perfection. Service and atmosphere is amazing romantic and beautiful. 6 stars if I could. Our servers name was Tess and she had such a wonderful personality. She was wearing a face mask but you can tell she was giving us service with a smile definitely recommending and coming again.
A very special place with great vibes in a quaint neighborhood with American flags everywhere, stunning sunsets and views of NYC. Friendly, accommodating staff, delicious food and great ambiance. Perfect for a casual lunch, cozy summer dinner or a special celebration. Absolutely coming back.
This was the third time that I have been here and I have been pleased each time. The menu is varied and always good, the service staff are attentive and the bay water views with the NY skyline in the background all make this a special place. I have been here for both lunch and dinner but they were in the off season. Even then, I made sure that I had reservations. Breezy Point is a restricted community but if you are going to Kennedys you can get a car pass to park in their lot.
The food, service, and music were excellent. This was my first time here so I had no idea it was in a gated community. I had a view of the bay with boats on one side and a beach house adorned with the anti-black lives matter on the other. I felt uncomfortable with the neighborhood politics. I saw few people of color in the restaurant. As a result, I will not be back.
I have been going to Kennedys for decades. Even had parties in their party room. It is perfection personafide. Great food, service, people. Gerrard and his entire staff have only one goal in mind and that is A SATISFIED CUSTOMER.FOOD IS EXCELLENT, PRICES ARE MORE THAN REASONABLE.
We had a birthday for my aunt that was turning 70 a party of 27 and we ordered prime rib and they did not stop to ask how we wanted it cooked or anything and rushed us when we where eating. The service here sucks and the prime rib was totally raw not even cooked the only thing that was good was the rolls. Also the prime rib was all fat and blubber
Ive eaten here many times over the years and my daughter had her wedding ceremony/reception here a few months ago. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Service is excellent. The food is very good, moderately priced (a bit on the higher end of the scale) and consistently high quality. The ocean/beach views and atmosphere are pleasant, but it can get a bit noisy when crowded. This is a very nice place for a family dinner or an enjoyable night out. The main dining room is not too fancy nor upscale for all to enjoy in casual attire. There is plenty of parking, and its well worth the drive out to Breezy Point for a fine meal.
Lovely restaurant, beautiful environment and mood. Tastey food, and well prepared. Service is always good.I recommend to call ahead to make sure they arent booked for an event. Weve been turned away on more than one occasion because there was an event of some sort that had booked the entire place. Also, remember to stop at the booth at the town entrance to get a parking token.Overall great, lost a star because its tad bit overpriced, and I would like to see some more menu options as they only have a handful of entrees and a limited wine list.
I love this restaurant. It’s right on the bay and the restaurant is clean and spacious. The food is delish! However, the service needs improvement. We waited over 90 min. for our meal. That’s not acceptable. Grant it we were a party of 9. But still, it’s still too long to wait for a meal and the waitress never came over to explain why it was taking so long.
Great atmosphere with spectacular view of jamaica bay. One of my favorite restaurants. I love the Sunday brunch it is second to none. My dinner faves are the poterhouse steak, lamb chops, and the raw bar is excellent. Great bar and if youre a martini fan you wont be diapointed. Just go for a drink or meal, look out the window and thank me.
Attempted to have Dinner Saturday evening at 6:00 pm with five people. When we entered the hostess asked if we had reservations we said we did not. The rude and abrupt hosted simply said It aint happening. Not even to say have a drink at the bar, or sorry but we can not accommodate you at this time. She simply said It aint happening and turned and walked away. We were totally embarrassed and we left. We will never step foot in that lace again and we will let everyone know how rude we were treated.
Well-designed interior, and beautiful views of the bayside and cityscape, especially at sunset. The food is generally very good, if not a little overpriced, and the service is very friendly and accommodating. Gets pretty chaotic in the summer and around holidays, though
My issue with Kennedys is the music. They have the music a few feet from the bar and tables in the pub area. So you generally can not hear or have a normal conversation. Plus it is very annoying while you are trying to eat. The music is too overpowering And personally destest Jazz. So instead of having an enjoyable Friday evening, we eat quickly, hope for music breaks and return home. So much for a fun night out. And if you are sitting at the bar, sit in Ashleys section. She is the best
Eating here for over 20 years.. Never been disappointed..Food is consistent and good.. A bit pricey but worth it because the quality and service is there and at times the view can be spectacular... another BIG plus is theirs always parking without a hassle The service is friendly and never fees rushed If your looking for a good place to eat and relax Id reccomend Kennedys
It was horrible, the waitress was rude we had decided to have separate checks and this woman still tried to give us one bill? I couldnt understand that one, when i confronted the waitress her answer to my question was that it was a store had a policy that w mb ,mbould not write out separate checks, so i proceeded to get my own check now!!!

2022-04-14Wonderful out of the way spot with a great decor and amazing dishes. Great fresh ingredients and great results. Baby Burrata was great as was the tuna tartar. Creamy mushroom risotto was splendid and the Chicken Puff pastry! what a gem! The deserts were wonderful too. Warm apple tart was incredible! Will definitely be back.

2022-06-06A beautiful escape from the urban lifestyle to this posh sea front restaurant where the views are as priceless as the food itself. My husband and I arrived with 4 kids at the start of their dinner venue and were accommodated promptly. The venue packs up quick so reservations are highly recommended. We had some of their specials for the day; tuna crusted salad and the halibut in capers sauce over truffle mash. For the kids we ordered broiled snappers over mash which were delicious and cooked with a perfect crunch on the skin. I highly recommend the maple duck over the sweet potato mash because it just melts in your mouth. For dessert we tried their flourless chocolate cake which was very decadent. Our wait staff were truly remarkable, attentive and professional. The overall experience had a Hamptons vibe and it was truly fabulous.

2022-04-25We had a small wedding dinner in the loft area this past weekend. We were so happy with the entire process. Christine, who organized the event, was so helpful, accommodating, pleasant and overall great to work with. The day of the staff was so quick to help set up exactly how we needed. They were friendly and attentive to all of our guests. The setting was perfect with amazing views of the beach and city. The loft area created a quiet intimate setting while still being able to enjoy the live music from the main dining area. And finally the food! Everything was perfect and delicious. I would highly recommend hosting an event here but would also recommend enjoying a delicious meal any time!

2022-06-23The food and service are always on point here. I’ve been in several times with our granddaughter who is a baby. Uses a high chair. She makes a mess honestly. They are extremely kind and patient with her. Our favorite apps are the coconut shrimp, calamari and for soup the French Onion. Entrees—love, love, love the chicken in puff pastry, the salmon and too many specials to mention. Dessert—Tartufo. Everything is so very good!!

2022-05-02They did an outstanding job hosting our son’s wedding rehearsal dinner for us last Thursday. Staff was great and the food was excellent. Everyone had a good time. When we still lived in the BK this place was on our date night rotation and glad to see it’s still the same, if not better, and very popular Yo!

2022-05-16Service, food, bar offerings, overall dining experience are all pretty great. The view of sunset over the bay is what really sets this place apart from the rest. Kennedy’s is one of our favorite restaurants in NYC!
