Key Food Marketplace in other cities:
I shop in this store everyday and the new deli with the cooked food is absolutely fantastic. The meat selection is excellent, and if there is something I want that is not carried, the management will order it for me for future purchases. Yes, the prices are a little higher than larger chain stores, but the proximity to my home, the excellent products and the people who work there make it all worthwhile. Lynda Kamerling
I love the fact that considering the time we went in the grocery store, that it wasnt packed with people. They had a good supply of lysol spray. However I would have given it 5 stars if not for the simple fact they were price gouging on the lysol spray. $15 for a can is outrageous
Perfect neighborhood supermarket in the center of Beacon. Nice deli counter, wide selection of produce, variety of fresh meat & well rounded dairy dept. All your grocery needs including Arthur Avenue breads! Organic items, too.Courteous and professional owners and staff!
I have lived in Beacon, NY. for over 10yrs. and have seen major improvements at this Key food location. I used to only go here for 1 or 2 items at a time but now the prices and selection are good enough for me to do most of my shopping here. I believe this location is family owned and operated. They really have done a great job and I hope they keep up the good work.
Rude cashiers, childish and unnecessarily confrontational attitude as tough they are dealing with people they know personally...”from around the way”... HOOD persona, high school dropouts. One girl in particular who always have an attitude like you’re disturbing her. The shop price’s are outrageous on most items due to the monopoly they hold on the community and a little on the dirty side.
This store may be slightly over priced but the convenience of having a local super market out weighs the minor price hike. Its clean, well stocked and has a very friendly staff. The deli always serves fresh Boars Head cold cuts and the service is always swift and friendly.
May 16 Owners allowed a man with no mask to shop and buy things from the deli. He went through every isle with his daughter. Did not give more than two feet while passing people. Disappointed.Former rating- store has a good amount of selection. Organic section. The produce is hit or miss, mostly cant move it fast enough and its often over ripe. The facility was, I believe, pioneer in the mid century. It has beautiful large glass windows in the front with a neat cart rack but the building condition is poor. The original ceiling tiles are over painted with glossy off white, some missing. The floor is blank linolium with some faux wood patter as an attempt to enter the 21st century. In my dreams it will be as cute and functional as food town in cold spring. I was thinking a steel beam could be added to remove the red poles that are in the middle of the aisle. This is our town grocery so I believe I supporting it. But I hope they invest in its future soon.
Been living In beacon for 3 and a half years now. Only come here for few things at a time. Prices are steep dire to location. The store is filthy especially the deli dept. There are always flys flying around the deli counter. And you can see how dirty everything is. Looks like the walls havent been cleaned in years. And the clerk behinds the deli counter looks like he hates his life, and doesnt even pretend to be happy or smile while giving you your order. But like I said they dont really have much competition. Unless you drive 15 minutes to Fishkill. Just wish it was a bit cleaner for the prices that we have to pay to shop there.
Not the most ideal place to buy your groceries as the prices are steep and the produce is not cheap, nor the quality. Unfortunately, other than the also pricey natural food market, this is your only current grocery store option in town. However, they have excellent rolls, breads and bagels coming from the Bronx.
Too many low-income customer for such an expensive places. To be the only supermarket in the aerea you should accommodate the community that has place your supermarket in the places that it is right now. We need better prices & and better products. Most of the products are low quality.
I would give this store 5 NEGATIVE STARS if that were an option, Ive never been in a grocery store that is priced the same way as a convenient store the prices on everything are just crazy and I mean everything, I am not a fan of being stolen from I work hard for my money Im not gonna let a grocery store Rob me, The cashiers have a lot to be desired as well they give off a snobby immature attitude this is the worst store Ive ever been in over priced snobby and employees with Im better than you attitudes

2022-05-19I love Key Food. The service is incredible, but the prices are too high. There is. O other food store in Beacon, so they can freely price items the way they wa t. I only use Key Food to pick up singular items that I forgot when doing a regular shopping.

2022-03-20The produce is rotten, expired products lurk everywhere, management has been extremely careless about Covid safety over the past two years, and everything is wildly overpriced. Its a ten minute drive to Stop & Shop in Fishkill. If youre able, do that.

2021-08-10Be sure to check your receipt as they will overcharge you almost every time you buy stuff there. The prices posted on products do not always ring up the same price. I have never once been under charged but over been overcharged a dozen times. Ive complained and pointed it out to the manager but the issue is never addressed. Very suspicious.

2021-10-19The only everyones supermarket on Beacons Main St. Coming from NYC, I find the produce fresh and the desserts tempting. The chocolate mousse is my favorite. They do stock organics. You will have to head over to Beacon Natural Market if you have deeper pockets to spend more on higher quality groceries. Fascinating to see senior citizens pushing a cart of groceries around Beacons beautiful and hilly terrain. Quite a scene not found in NYCs elderly population who walk through level streets.

2021-05-15Obnoxiously overpriced grocery store items but I guess they can get away with it since they’re the only grocery store in Beacon. Small and very outdated looking. You’re better off heading to the Shop Rite or the Market 32 in Newburgh cause you’ll save way more money and will have more of a selection.
