Galbi was so so. not excellent but expensive. not worth the price. but most of all, I didnt like the fact that the waitress asked me for more tip. how much tip customers pay is completely up to the costumers. we didnt have a large number of ppl to serve nor asked for many things. however, after we paid, waitress came up to us and said the tip was too small, that we needed to give them at least 15%. foods were pricy so 15% to 20% tip is also very high, and the fact they demanded that was offensive. I dont think I will recommend this place to anyone nor I will go back to this place. there are other BBQ places that are better than this place in Queens.
I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this place. I came here completely on a whim one day and really enjoyed the amount of food they give you, from all the nice and spicy appetizers to the huge bowl of cold noodles and vegetables. They really give a great value for just the right price.
Legit Korean BBQ, a lot of older Asians here to prove it. Asian-style service meaning they stay out of your way until you call them over so leave your inferiority complex at home - the worse the service, the better the food, yeah smh. Bring along a Korean to help you navigate their complex menu, tough even for me. Plenty of food and great value if you know anything about food besides terrible buffets.
I ordered kimchi jjogae and yookgaejang for lunch over the phone. It usually takes 10-15min but I waited for 25min. When I asked one lady who got my order and payment why it takes too long, she said arent they making your orders? Why is she asking that awkward question to me rather than checking the order status.. there were only 4-5 tables and one table also made a complaint because they took half of lunch time! Trust me other places take 10min to make that order and cheaper during lunch time.
Myung poom means top brand or fancy so that is what the beef is here. They use top quality meat for their kalbi, just look at the marbling on the meat!Along with BBQ type food they have many different soups which are delicious. This isnt your place for bibimbap even if they have it on the menu. Its on there so that if someone comes that doesnt happen to want BBQ or other soups they have the option. They have beef options, pork and duck as well. In the summer or when you feel like it their naeng myun is really good to cool off either the spicy (bibimnaeng myun) or soup version (mul naeng myun). This isnt your regular all you eat type quality food so if thats what you want then this sint for you. This is top quality meat being grilled in front of you.
A nice Chinese-Korean restaurant I found in the area.I loved black bean noodles(Jja-Jang-Myun) as much as the spicy seafood noodle soup(Jjam-Bbong). And I loved it when I found that this restaurant has half-and-half(JJam-Jja-Myun)!!Yes I like the dish. I was so happy that I could have them both. Mmhmm! One thing that I didnt like was that the portion was a little bit less than what I expected.I also loved the sweet & sour fried beef(Tang-Soo-Yuk).And yes I am coming back! ;)
The ribs are delicious and the service is good.08/21/2019It has been almost a year since I entered Korea.I live in ManhattanWhere to go to eat on purpose.I thought I would miss the old taste when I came to KoreaI miss the taste that I had in New York. The meat you ate there and the cold noodles ...And you still have a restaurant in New YorkIts great. Not only Korean but also multiracial peopleDo you have to find a taste for your food?Is it hard to eat?Kim Cha-Yeul RestaurantIts a place sometimes when I meet acquaintances in KoreaWhen Im worried about where to goThis is the place. All the foods Ive eatenTaste and memories remain a lotIts done. All the food and services you ate thereThank you.I wish you good business for a long time.
A restaurant where the food and atmosphere keep improving. The attitude that the staff also responds to customers has become very classy. It was unfortunate, but it seems to have improved well. The food volume and taste are good and the menu is well prepared with something to eat.
With good minds, they made two servings of Chadol, two servings of water and two servings of Bibim Noodle. Chadol was dry on the edge as if it had been left in the freezer for a long time. The cold noodle was boiled and it was tired, and it was the feeling of eating a noodle. I was nervous and noodle was originally like this .. I am ... my age is 50. I ate noodles for the first time? Funny, I did not pray. I will not go back again. But the money and the tip have been given a lot of money.
The ribs are really better than the others, but the service is not good ..... The crabs are hard to eat, but the pine mushrooms are cut so hard that they cannot be eaten quickly ... Its all right, but it was expensive and I ate it deliciously, but I dont want to come again every time its serviced.

2022-04-04Legit OG Korean bbq. Shocked at the poor reviews , listen to me this is the kbbq of kbbqs. Amazing galbi, hot coals, loads of banchan including raw marinated crab ( gejang ), egg soufflé and tofu stew. Their cold spicy noodles was a delight. 5 stars!

2018-04-05Their mackerel was so good! It tasted so fresh. Hot stone bibimbop was good but I had better before. One of local person recommended this place and glad weve tried even though we didnt do the Korean bbq.

2021-06-05Super expensive. Tried the kalbi and it was $40 for a kid sized plate. I ordered duck as well, and the waitresses forgot about us and the duck would have burned completely if I didnt start flipping the meat on the grill. Do not recommend. I do not understand why the reviews are so high. The meat was good, but not $40 worth for a kid plate.

2017-12-30Their Kalbi is the best in New York. It is a bit pricey but it is worth paying the price. The side dishes are very good including the crab with soy sauce.I would recommend this place to my family and friends.I would also want to try their NangMyun with Kalbi. This place usually packed but if you go there around 4pm, it not that busy and you will get full service.Im very satisfied with the food and the service.

2019-08-18Weve been there multiple times before, but todays visit was very disappointing. They served us Galbi that didnt look like galbi and it didnt taste like one. We got 3 orders of marinated galbi, and they brought out 3 big chunks of meat that wasnt in same size and barely had any fat in it. Meat was very chewy and my husband said it tasted like softer version of Jang jo rim. We felt very deceived and people that I went with all agreed that what we got was not the right cut of the beef. They shouldnt be deceiving customers like that. We will not be going back.

2019-03-10This restaurant had the worst service Ive ever experienced in a Korean restaurant. I am Korean, born in Seoul but cant speak Korean. There was obviously a bias and language barrier. I ordered two barbeque dishes. I asked for rice. Never came. Asked for lettuce and small plates for traditional Korean style of eating bbq. The lettuce that came was so wet that it created a large puddle. I tried to shake off the water but my hands still got soaked eating it. I asked for rice again. Didnt get it. I asked for a small plate that every single Korean restaurant just gives you. No plate.Another waitress comes over. The japchae on the grill was mostly burnt onto it. She starts to serve it when she notices we have no plates. We finally get plates. Still no rice but I give up on it. I look at other tables. They have rice, small plates, and dry lettuce that doesnt flood the table. We were obviously given bad service and I suspect it was because I didnt speak Korean. If my sister, who still speaks fluent Korean, were there, she would have yelled at them and we would have gotten perfect service. As for the food: it was below average compared to all the Korean restaurants Ive been to. The prices are much too high for what you get. I am so disappointed by this restaurant. It is the worst eating out experience Ive had for many years for any meal costing $50 or more for two (this cost $76 for 2 dishes. I left the restaurant still hungry for the first time ever in a Korean restaurant.)
