Loved staying at the Kimpton Hotel Eventi. Great location to be in New York! Try and get a city view if you can because you get a great view of the Empire State Building:) it’s super clean and the bathroom was super elegant and classy with the marble detailing. Service was excellent, every staff went above and beyond for us. Also check out their restaurants downstairs, it’s to die for, especially L’amico!! Chef kiss
Dont let yourself be fooled. This place is just a shadow of its former self and the ratings is from the good old days. They charge the same but you get A LOT less. First they dont make your room - covid protocol.. others do so dont take that. The restaurant in the back - the vine is closed.. then they dont do breakfast.. well they call it continental something but its just BS... some grab items.. totally pointless. Their breakfast used to be great now it just sucks. And the pizzeria also closed on some days. I stayed here for years spent a lot of money but now its just a rip off not worthy of Kimpton.. unless the entire chain went to hell.. Also no one really cares if you mention it...
I planned a stay-cation for my birthday. I was under the assumption that I was getting a suite especially for the price. I feel this hotel only caters to the aesthetics versus the customer experience. Simple things like having an iron that doesnt leak water on my dress or having a bucket of ice sent to the room, bottle opener or a piece of Andes mint chocolate on my pillow since it was my actual birthday left me feeling like I was getting very little in return for a $900 stay. And to make matters worse I was overcharged for drinks at the bar. Ive been to more comfortable places for a third of what I paid. I will warn all of my friends and never return.
Bait and Switch. There were supposed to be two restaurants. Both are closed for some days. Breakfast is just some grab items, non of that was advertised. Rooms have a sign saying order food.. but since restaurants are closed not much to order. Next food is blocks away... This used to be great, now it just sucks post pandemic.
We had a wonderful time at this hotel and will stay here again. Staff from the front desk to housekeeping were very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed coffee from the back cafe; wine at L’Amico and had a great meal at Skirt Steak next door. Room was quiet, clean and a decent size. Location is superb. Highly recommend to book it!
We are a frequent customer and past experiences have been stellar, so we were extremely disappointed. Common areas needed repair and we were welcomed to our suite by a dirty q tip on the bathroom floor (not ours) and shoddy housekeeping measures throughout. I can only assume they were understaffed due to Covid which makes me want to give them another chance. Still, as a fan of the Kimpton brand and in this hotel in particular, I was shocked.
Stayed here a few times over the years. Was impressive when they first opened, but now generally rundown/not being well maintained. We stayed on the 17th floor (paid for an upgrade) and cupboard doors broken, drawers broken, TV not working. Time to find an alternative hotel in New York. Good sized rooms for a NY hotel. Good location.
Nice location and cool restaurant, hotel room was dirty, I didn’t even have shampoo or conditioner in it, I asked for a bottle of water and was told to “walk to the Bodega across the street and get it yourself” . I thought he was joking, but Angel Feliciano, the man who purports to be a manager at this luxury hotel honestly, believed that this was the absolute best course of action at a request for water…..at a room that is almost $500 per night 🤣 hi Angel! Look you’re on google maps! I’m going to edit this post in a few weeks and I will tell you exactly how many people read it! I think it will be a few thousand!
Badly Managed - Good Hotel Gone Downhill. I’ve have been staying here for over 10 years - it used to be my go to place to stay in NYC. Sadly that will no longer be the case. Somehow during CoVID it has not been maintained at all and lost any sense of effective management. Our first night we couldn’t sleep due to an AC unit that sounded like a jet engine and had a toilet where the water ran constantly. They fixed the toilet after we reported it but said the AC was their upgrade for covid. Definitely a downgrade from my years of staying here. The second night we woke up to no hot water. Front desk said they would send someone. After waiting an hour we finally left without showers. Later learned it was the entire building but had had no follow up as guests who were cluelessly waiting for the repairman.Other small annoyances - we accepted they shut down room service so we were fine to go down stairs and buy a pot of coffee to bring up ourselves. Called front desk who didn’t know if this was possible and couldn’t transfer to the restaurant. Went down and the restaurant somehow no longer had coffee pots from when it had room service.Never heard from a manager on any of the issues. The front desk seemed clueless. So different from how this hotel used to be. Complete disrepair, rooms no longer maintained and absent management. As a long time Kimpton fan and a fan of this hotel - this is very sad for me to report how bad this place now is.
I didnt stay here. Just letting folks know, if youre not a guest restrooms are off limits. I was going to take a friend out to the restaurant, but after the bad experience I had there will not be going near this hotel. Dont waste your time folks. Nicer hotels, and cheaper Wall Street area of Manhattan. Save your money and stay in downtown Manhattan.
According to the star system two stars is just OK, and I think that fits how I feel about our stay well. The staff was welcoming, the lobby is elegant, the room was spacious, but anything special about the spot ended there. I tried to get a drink at the cocktail bar which was advertised as 6 PM-Late. Apparently late means less than four hours later because despite a full bar and many people coming in during a busy Saturday night in NYC, there wasnt incentive to keep the bar open. Less than 12 hours later I went to get coffee and was told that the complimentary coffee had ended. What was specified to me upon check in was complimentary coffee in the morning, not complimentary coffee until 9:30 AM. I checked my phone and, at 9:42, the free coffee was non-negotiably off, so I took my five dollar coffee and a bad muffin up to my room, packed and left. The TV was also glitchy and the bed wasnt especially comfortable in my opinion, but beds are tricky so that could just be preferential to me.All in all this wasnt some unforgivably bad experience, but it definitely was a mediocre one, and in a city where the high prices are generally suggestive of high quality, and there are plenty of options to boot, its hard to see returning.
Positive: Room comfort, quiet, location Negative: Imposed surprise daily resort fee at checkout even when I had very clear summary of charges on reservation. They told me it was all my problem to deal with. Avoid this property at all costs - they seem to value their bottom line over customers.
We had an ok time at Kimpton Hotel. Great location with a very modern interior. We were very disappointed to learn on Sunday NO breakfast and NO dinner was being served. Staying in a hotel that was definitely not cheap, at least have an option! Kimpton is a pretentious hotel that markets in having 3 restaurants on site, but in reality there is no real option on Sundays and Monday mornings... for weekend gateway, there are better options in NYC.
I’m a traveling makeup artist who has came here many of times. I was very uncomfortable with how the front desk treated me around 1:15 pm today. She was a bit heavy set (no shade) just describing her. I asked to go to the room number and she asked me what wS the reason. I told her to call the guest and ask her. She did not ask her but she got confirmation the client I was expected. After she asked me for id which was a 1st I ever was asked ID in the city. I cooperated. She tried provoking me and said “just doing my job” when I didn’t even say anything I cooperated. And she gave me a key. I honestly think she wanted me to argue with her but someone had to be the professional in this sense. I proceeded to the room, the hairstylist before me came in did not recieved the same treatment who just happened to be light skin/white. I told the guests and they said the staff was rude to them as well. I been coming here for years and never experienced this behavior. Perhaps she was having a bad day but there’s no reason to overthink of the “why” someone is receiving a visitor if the guest confirms me.
The dining room and bar area have deteriorated dramatically. They both close at 10:00 pm, and not open on Sunday or Monday, what kind of hotel is it where you cannot have breakfast on Sunday ?........also this hotel is filled with dogs, be prepared to sit with dog hair.
***Buyer Beware: I want to give them a dead star*** I have traveled to several states and have stayed in five-star hotels, and many were reputable. This hotel is by far the worst experience Ive ever had; I arrived early and asked to use the restroom and was told that they must have approval from management. I made sure they knew that I had reservations, and still, they were hesitant. I noticed that the rooms were not even five-star worthy during my stay. For example, our shower didnt drain fully, and the water-filled up at the far end of the shower floor. Housekeeping completely ignored the do not disturb signs/lights and still proceeded to knock on our door every morning. I guess they were lightly cleaning because the hallways and elevators were less than acceptable, considering five-star standards. The grand finale was the revolving front desk. The clerks all seemed clueless about how hospitality worked at a five-star hotel. First, it was my terrible experience with the valet service in which she scolded me for calling down but not bringing my ticket. The woman at the front desk spoke to me as if I didnt understand English; she stated, We have these procedures in place, so we dont give out the wrong vehicle sir, I need your ticket before I can give you a key. I was so furious because I looked at the keys they were handing me. It wasnt my key at all; in fact, they proceeded twice to give me the wrong keys. This hotel needs to remove all of the non-cholent front desk representatives and replace them immediately, they are not well trained, and it shows, half of them dont even understand the hotel policy. The icing on the cake was our door dash order since the hotels room service was null and void. Once the food arrived, they alerted the front desk, and they didnt call our room; we had to come downstairs to inquire at the front desk, and they didnt know anything about the order. I will never stay here again, and to be honest, the only reason theyre five-star worthy is because of their location and their severely understaffed restaurants. If you are well-traveled and looking for a legit hotel with five-star treatment, RUN from this one because no one is competent here, including the manager who works nights which Ive never heard of before….Hotel Eventi was uneventful and they should stop ruining the Kimpton name. For everyones sake, the woman who worked the front desk Monday morning, please get out of the hotel business for good!
Positive: Location great Negative: I was put in an accessible room even though the hotel was nowhere close to being full. The small tub was clogged. The amenities were scaled back and restaurants closed. They were out of certain toiletries and replaced them with lower tier brands.
Quite possibly the best hotel weve ever stayed at in NYC. This was our first time staying at a Kimpton Hotel and we loved it. It was by far the most spacious room weve ever had in an NYC hotel and our room was very clean and had large windows for lots of natural light. Despite being close to the elevator, we found our room to be very quiet. The best part of our stay was the very helpful staff. Everyone at the front desk was friendly and attentive and I greatly appreciated that they checked in with us daily via text. It turned out to be a big help when my son left a personal item in our room after we checked out. Being able to text someone helped us locate the item quickly and the security staff kept the item safe until I could send them a shipping label to send it to our home. The free coffee from the cafe was a treat I enjoyed daily and the location of the hotel was perfect for exploring Chelsea and the Lower villages. We came to NYC for the US Open and with subway & train stations just blocks away, it made getting to and from the Open so convenient. We will definitely be back to the Kimpton Eventi.
Positive: The location and views Negative: The first room, the heat didn¿t work so they upgraded us to A larger room since the AC tech was not available. However the level of cleanliness in both were about the same. Dusty and there were some spots of blood on the inner blanket.
Positive: Room size - especially the bathroom - was great for NYC. Location was convenient to Penn Station. Negative: Paying $20 per night (not per stay) in resort fees is ridiculous. For that, we got one glass of wine at the happy hour and a cup of coffee in the morning. Nice as this hotel is, in the future I will be looking for rooms without a resort fee.
We normally love Kimpton hotels. Sadly, this one did not meet up to my expectations. We had a spectacular view and the bed and bedding as always was wonderful. The porters and check in staff went above and beyond and answered all our questions. We had an issue closing the drapes for the evening, and had someone come up to close them each night. Normally, Kimpton has a happy hour - but at this hotel it was only on certain days. The restaurant was also closed all except one day. There was a beautiful loft area with a fireplace and when we asked to sit near the fire, the very rude waiter told us we couldnt unless we were having breakfast. That said, when we did have breakfast there it was delicious. All in all we love Kimpton and will come back to this location hoping that the issues may have been covid related.
Surprise fee at checkoutBooked online and had a very clear summary of expenses in an email. Summary showed charge as one time amount - at checkout they charged as daily charge - repeated 4 times. When I protested and showed my contract, they dug in, told me to see their website and refused to own their mistake. Buyer beware of the bait and switch. They took advantage of me and I will not allow them to do it again.
Very uncomfortable bed , unfriendly staff. Doesn’t allow even half hour late checkout even it’s low season.. The view in the room is very decisive and don’t fall for it. The phone never got through to any number! Please don’t come! We are not going to stay here any more.
This rating is for customer service, not a stay. Jennifer at the front desk is wonderful! We needed to cancel our non-refundable reservation because of a family emergency. Jennifer was extremely helpful and worked with a 3rd party booking company to cancel and refund our reservation. Thank you so much, Jennifer!
Positive: The room and lobby were clean and comfortable. The bed was excellent. Good natural light. Negative: Booked for mom. She was frightened twice by staff asking to be let into her room; housekeeping (though we requested none when asked at checkin) and a man asking to measure windows for new curtains at an odd hour.
This was our second visit to this property and we were very pleased. We were checked into the hotel by Megan, who was very pleasant and efficient. We were assigned room 1815; it was a 1BR suite. The suite was very nice and contained all the usual amenities, including a single person jacuzzi tub. The bed was comfortable, and with the amount of space we had, it was hard to remember that we were in the middle of the city.Jennifer, a manager, left fruit and water in our room while we were at the wine hour, which was also very nice. However, the constant changing of floors each evening had guests confused. Only there one night, we had no problem, but others were complaining in the elevators.Housekeeping, however, could be improved. They failed to supply hand towels and even after being told we could have a 2pm checkout, they came knocking at 12:05pm, while we were getting ready. Communication should be improved when it comes to late checkouts. Had the housekeeper made it into the room, shed have found naked people in the midst of getting dressed!Aside from the housekeeping concerns I have, the hotel met our expectations and I will surely be back soon!
This is a great, inexpensive, little midtown hotel. Its clean, quiet, tastefully appointed and very close to Penn Station and Moynihan Station.Weve stayed here a couple of times and its consistent. Great place for a regular business traveler or commuter. Also, the bathrooms are huge and very nicely done, makes getting cleaned up for a night out or ready for a day in the office very nice.
Positive: Most of the staff was very nice and attentive. We also had a nice view of the Empire State Building. Great location. Negative: The room was very tiny, poorly laid out, Did not have room to move around. Not enough closet space. I asked if we could upgrade and Was told that some services were limited. I was willing to pay to change rooms but was denied for some reason.
Positive: The room was well appointed and clean, staff was very nice and abundantly helpful. Would 100% stay there again and recommend it fully. Negative: TV controls (they attempted to be fancy using an iPad) didnt work well, but it was only a very minor inconvenience.
Shout out to Jennifer at the front desk for the Gold Member upgrade to a higher floor corner room! 😎We love, love, love Kimpton Hotels as it truly resonates with our vibe and pet friendly! We usually stay at the Ink 48 in Hells Kitchen, but decided to switch it up this trip and so glad we did! Spacious room for NYC standards, beautiful views, lovely staff and free coffee and wine at happy hour. Our one night stay was wonderful thanks to the comfy bed and gorgeous bathroom! We wish we could take the bathroom home with us. 😉
The rooms are quite large for NY and quite modern. There’s a do not disturb light and the staff was AMAZING! The bathrooms are modern and every room has robes and an umbrella. I stayed here post COVID and the restaurants weren’t back open yet, but there was enough nearby that I made do. I got a deal on my room so I don’t know how affordable it is. I didn’t love the location because I had to Uber or Taxi everywhere I wanted to go. There was plenty of lighting and dimmer switches in the bathroom and the room. Some older hotel rooms can be dark.
Its a pet-friendly hotel without any additional fee which is so great!! The service of the staffs are just okay... neither very good nor that bad. The location is great. quite accessible to most of the landmarks and better environment compared to other hotels in midtown of manhattan.
Good location, staff and atmosphere. Not so good when it comes to conveniences. Very noisy room, leaky shower without a door, very weak cable reception. Noisy mechanical system isn’t easily fixable or we would’ve asked. Rooms are very small, no room to stow away suitcases. I wouldn’t stay there again.
Positive: The location was excellent and our room was spacious (bathroom was far larger than usual for NY). Negative: The room next door was extremely loud every night and made it impossible to get a good nights sleep. The first night, I called guest services and they sent security to the room and asked them to keep it down (which they barely did). Paper thin walls.
Changed the rate on me 3 times. Theres almost no soundproofing on the windows, so the car horns from the Lincoln tunnel kept me awake to the point that I drove home rather than stay after midnight. Front desk people were fixated on me checking out at midnight rather than listening to what I said following that. Wont stay again nor would I recommend anyone to.
This room I got was 500$ for one night and the room had NO kitchen, suites have kitchens, NO microwave or stove I had to eat my food cold, no outside balcony’s, it was annoying going downstairs every 3 hours to smoke. There was NO good a/c, NO water they have us three small tiny bottles, NO mini fridge all my drinks got hot before I could use them, we got ice but there was NO bucket just a plastic bag that dipped everywhere. We got food from outside bc the restaurant inside was way too pricey, overall 2/10 experience wouldn’t be coming back. I’ve been to nicer rooms for less money with everything I need!
This hotel is absolutely amazing, let me tell you why. The first starts with the front Lines. Derek who is a bellman/valet Took care of my car while it was parked in the underground garage and help me unload it and load it back, Jen was wonderful when booking my first time experience here at this hotel and set me up with the suite for my accommodations due to the fact that I am partially handicap, Kevin who is the front desk attendant made sure all my needs and questions were answered when I always kept coming down to the front desk to ask specific questions about the surrounding area for things to Do during my stay, And last but not least Jodi who made sure that the staff was taking care of me like I was a King, I couldn’t ask for a better stay in New York City at a beautiful hotel with an awesome view of the city as well. I will be back and I hope the staff will help me again just like they did this time for July 4th Weekend 2021. #oneofthegreatHotels
Love this hotel. My gf and I have stayed here several times; this (late May 2021) was our first stay since COVID began. Always clean, with friendly and efficient staff, spacious rooms, and nice touches like art around the hotel (and beautiful spaces in general), and wine hour, especially nice upon check-in :). Well stay here again!
Positive: It looked nice in the outside Negative: Staff didn¿t change my sheets so I slept in dried blood the whole time. I asked for a cleaning at front desk and the sheets still wasn¿t changed. Conserving pandemic that is definitely disgusting. Judge by a staff one night. Unprofessional
Despite having signs all over the lobby and elevators mandating masks at all times, one of the front desk managers (a petite brunette female) went maskless throughout my 2-day stay. When I asked her colleague why, she simply shrugged and rolled her eyes. How can any guest take Covid safety seriously if one of your front desk greeters blatantly violates the rules herself? Embarrassing and unacceptable not to mention unsanitary. The rest of the stay was fine but this was a point of no return for me.
Positive: Central. Convenient 5 min. walk to subway station. 15 min. on foot to Flat Iron bldg./Eataly Negative: In May 2021, limited service (covid?): no room service, no in-room bar. Restaurant only open for dinner except weekend brunch. Booked hotel for fueling breakfast or lunch before heading out. Housekeeping upon request only. Forgot my room 2x.
Location was great, but unfortunately this was an expensive stay that was unimpressive given that its a Kimpton. We arrived on a holiday weekend, so Friday was busy. 2 out of 3 elevators were not working which was not a great sign. The rooms were okay, they had tablets that didnt work to check out or use the tv, we found the remote eventually. A few lightbulbs were missing, it was really hard to tell how to turn off the lights because there was like 1 switch and the others were hidden around the room. We initially thought we had to pay for WiFi when logging in, the front desk never gave us an access code nor alluded to it on arrival, we called and got it eventually. Upon check out we noticed the tv with the clock in the elevators were incorrect initially panicking us as we were trying to catch a train at Penn station out of the city. Really disappointed since I thought this would be our nicer place we stayed while in NYC.
The staff is absolutely amazing! The rooms are modern and clean. The hotel has a very urban feel with a wonderful lobby that has plenty of areas to lounge and have a drink and a wonderful bar with great cocktails and friendly bar staff. The staff is friendly and takes the time to really talk to you. They had plenty of great suggestions on places to eat and shop as well as information about what to see in New York. The view from the room was fantastic with a beautiful view of the sunrise over Central Manhattan in the morning. We dont have one bad thing to say about this Hotel.
Way overpriced for the quality of the hotel. You’re just paying for the location. For most of our stay, only 1 out of 3 elevators were working. Every time the elevator actually came to our floor, it was completely full. We were staying on the 19th floor...and I’m pregnant. After waiting 30 minutes just to be able to leave our floor for breakfast, we just took the stairs (as did other people on our floor.) Supposedly a staff member is supposed to contact me in regards to it but it has been days since then. The water in the room is $10 a bottle. The room itself was tiny and the bed took up 90% of the floor. Overall I wouldn’t stay here again.
Overall the stay was good. However, the front staff was superficially friendly which quickly faded when anything goes wrong. The doorman appears to be there as a prop since only twice in a 6 day stay did they actually open the door. The staff in the bar are polite but lack any degree of warmth or customer service skills (water never got refilled once during the 45 minute breakfast and dirty breakfast plates were not removed). The rooms are clean and the Italian restaurant were excellent. If location is your requirement, this is a good choice since it’s central to many subway stations and a short walk to most attractions. Otherwise, there are a lot better choices for the price. (This is a 3 star, marginal 4 star hotel at best.)
Amazing hotel! We were celebrating our 10 year anniversary and the receptionist informed us our room had been upgraded and we were greeted with a bottle of champagne 🥂! Amazing service. The room was plenty big enough for the two of us and we had a “city view” which was incredible, you could clearly see the Empire State Building. Bathroom was very nice and the room was air con/heated. The two restaurants are fantastic but a little on the pricier side, you get what you pay for though and the food and service is great. The gym facilities are good I used the peloton bike a lot although a fan for the bike would be a nice addition. If we ever get the joy of visiting NYC again we will be staying here, 5 stars - thankyou Nico & Laura
Positive: The location was close to the subway. Negative: Each person I came into contact with, especially the front desk, were rude and unhelpful. I caught two of the maintenance people speaking negatively about me over walkie talkies when my keycards malfunctioned for the fourth time. Terrible customer service
Booked a room on the 12th floor for a weekend and only a single elevator was working the entire time. The hotel staff was rude and not accommodating to guests asking about when it might be fixed and if they could comp any of the cost or provide any compensation. The water bottles in the room would cost $10 if you drank them, which is much more than Ive ever seen. The sheets on the bed were also pretty coarse and uncomfortable. Overall just not worth the price. Id normally individually overlook the small issues and understand when there are mechanical issues, but the rudeness of the staff to all of the patrons that I saw made this go from 3 stars to 1 for me.
I use to rave about this hotel. Was my favorite stay in NY, until my last ridiculous experience. I never leave reviews, but since the hotel didnt handle my situation. Here we go:1. check in is 3pm, yet we couldnt get into our room till 5pm cause they said it wasnt ready. Whatever, disregarded this.2. Main problem, all night long I was having an allergic reaction to the AC, every time it went on, me & my mom kept getting a cough/sore throat. In fact, at 5am I went outside downstairs for fresh air cause it kept me up all night long. Soon as I was out of the room it was better. I kindly let the front desk know this was a problem and that they needed to clean their AC vents. The front desk staff apologized and said they would address it when I checked out. Well I had an exam in the city, whole reason I picked a hotel that I usually feel comfortable at, so my mom checked out & she told me they said nothing/ did nothing about our complaint. So I sucked it up, was too tired to deal with this problem. Not coming here again but not annoyed enough to write a review.3. A few days after my visit I get a charge for $9 at random from the hotel, I call ask what it is & they tell me its for a snack from mini bar. We never ate from mini bar, we ordered over $50 of room service because we didnt want the mini bar. I told them it wasnt my charge, and frankly after dealing with the stay I had they shouldnt be charging me anything. She went on to say okay we decided to comp that charge, you should see it reverse in a few days. O wow thanks, comp the charge I never made, how thoughtful.4. They never removed my charge for the item I never even had out of the mini fridge. Its been a month today from my stay- nothing.Way to go Eventi- for having the worst management skills for accommodating customers that are members of your Kimpton club- way to ruin your reputation. Never raving about this hotel again.
Stayed in this fantastic hotel for 10 days during the Christmas period, we couldnt of chosen a better hotel.Hotel:Trendy, modern, hip and clean hotel, as youd expect from a high end hotel. The food in this hotel was excellent, couldnt fault the room service, bar food, breakfast or dinner.Location:Great location really close to the Empire State and Maces in the centre of Manhattan, within walking distance of pretty much everything. To give you an example.....we easily walked to Central Park, Soho, Grand Central & Times Square.Rooms:Spacious, (and thats saying something for NYC hotels as they are not known for having much of it) clean, modern, excellent quality furnishings and a great view of the city.Staff:Couldnt fault any members of staff, concierge/checkin staff were very friendly and would always be happy to help, they would answer any annoying questions tourists like ourselves would ask with professionalism, great local knowledge and a big smile......very helpful. Bar & restaurant staff were also brilliant, they were attentive, professional and friendly, couldnt fault them. Maids were also great, didnt speak to any of them but our rooms were always spotless and we had no interruptions.Overall an excellent hotel and would highly recommend staying here, we will be staying again.
Nice Room & Location - unnecessary Amenity FeeI enjoy the Kimpton brand and our stay at the Eventi in May-2021 was very good. However, continuing to charge the $23 per night amenity fee despite suspending the evening reception, which is a big draw to staying at a Kimpton, was disappointing and slightly dampened our impression of an overall nice hotel stay.
Like the location. Both restaurants downstairs are very good. The Italian one being the better of the two. Rooms are spacious and well designed.Theres free wine happy hour every day. Theres no coffee maker set up in the room by default. I find that slightly annoying. But you can ask and theyd set one up for you. There free drip coffee in the lobby in the mornings though.Staff helpful. The lobby is great for hanging out as well. And Korea Town is just across the street, Times Square a few blocks north, subway stop right there.
Such a cool lobby and really nice people who work there. Very international guests. They have a wine happy hour from 4-5 on Thursdays I think... The restaurants are really good and the whole place has a decidedly hip Downtown vibe. I think this hotel set the standard for cool boutique hotels.
Very nice hotel. The elevator was secured with your room key, but the sensor did not work properly, requiring multiple attempts to select your floor. Several times people on the elevator missed their floor. Also, I was counting on borrowing a bicycle, but the threat of rain, which never came, halted the loans. Completely changed my day!Otherwise, very comfortable rooms. Extremely friendly staff
Sadly not a good experience at all. After staying at all other Kimpton Hotels in the city — and many others across the US and overseas — there was some hesitation to stay on this busy corner of Midtown South. Expecting some street noise, but also good insulation, the worries were justified. BUT, the biggest let down were the services/amenities or lack thereof. The welcome at Kimpton Eventi was warm, the doorman and Pauline were friendly, but that’s where it ended. Empty/used shower gel bottle were replaced, but with a grudge, the special Kimpton amenities needed to be requested, and after check-in smiles and help were far and few. The majority of staff looks tired and doesn’t care. Compliments for the chat team, as they were very courteous, but the request for a room change to a quiet/higher floor already made at reservation was not honored.Biggest letdown is their ‘free’ coffee/tea and wine social hour (easily covered by the fees), which is subpar compared to other Kimpton in both location, service and atmosphere/offerings. The Eventi management should visit the Kimpton Shoreline Huntington Beach, they got THIS and still have a full bar/restaurant.
Honestly this place was just okay. The hotel has a Has Been kind of feel, as in it had been a great hotel once upon a time, but now its so run down and the staff is so under-trained that it felt like I was staying at a relic of a nice hotel. Also, THERE IS CONSTRUCTION GOING ON ALL AROUND THIS HOTEL RIGHT NOW!!! So I had to ask for my room to be changed and the second room was definitely more quiet, but still could hear some residual construction noise. Avoid 6th avenue facing rooms AT ALL COSTS!!! Also, even though the bathroom was marble, there was visible mold in the shower, yuck! Next Con - the hotel is on a block where lots of street people are sleeping on the street, pan handling and it smells like urine. Not the vibe you want around a nice hotel. I wouldnt recommend this place. Honestly if you want an ACTUALLY NICE HOTEL, go for the Mandarin Oriental where at least you know youre getting the luxury they promised. The Kimpton falls short of a true four star hotel by all standards.
Will come back again for my next trip. The room rate is fairly unbeatable for the product. Lots of dishes to choose from. The beds were the best ever. The house keeping department was really good. The services at the hotel were great. The front desk person was extremely nice.
Outstanding boutique hotel! The staff here are top notch. The location is really optimal. A quick, 3 minute, one stop subway ride to the West Village. Lots of shopping nearby. We were in a Deluxe King room which was spacious, and equipped with a huge bathroom. Wine hour can move around. If the weather is nice its on a rooftop. I think weve found our NYC hotel for all our future stays.
I frequently stay at the Eventi while on business and have always had a wonderful experience. The rooms are lovely and clean and the staff is always cheerful and helpful. My last stay had me raving about the customer service to my friends. I began to feel ill during a meeting and rushed back to the hotel to take a nap, but realized I misplaced my room key. Not only did the front desk quickly help me get a new room key, they also sent up tea and soup free of charge. I was so overwhelmed with the incredible care and customer service and have been raving about it ever since.
My wife and I checked in for our 6 year anniversary. We werent expecting much but casually mentioned how we were celebrating our anniversary. Next thing you know we are getting upgraded to a private suite with an open terrace. It was an incredible experience and our anniversary turned out perfect thanks to Kimpton. The staff is very friendly, great location, and the rooms are very clean.
The hotel is very disorganized and the staff is not helpful. We arrived at 4pm to a lobby with a check-in line that was literally out the front door. We were told that our room was not ready. This was a problem because we were in for a wedding and had a rehearsal in one hour followed by dinner. We had to change our clothes in a restroom. Then at 9pm when we returned to the hotel we find out our room was not with the rest of the wedding guests but on another floor. Not a huge problem but a slight inconvenience because it would have been helpful to have the children together in one area instead of riding elevators between rooms. And not for nothing we booked the room 5 months in advance and were part of a wedding block. Theres no excuse for their inability to keep the group together like we requested and if they couldnt they should have been upfront about it. Ive stayed at many hotels and most go out of their way to accommodate guests. This hotel told us they were fully booked so tough luck.Edit: next morning its 11AM. The grooms suite isnt ready. Staff is claiming it will take 2 hours to get it ready. No problem we only have to leave for the church at 1PM. I guess well get dressed and ready in the hallway? The wedding is at this hotel it should have come as no surprise to the staff. Then security tells me they need to change the lock on the door of my room to the touch type key. No problem but give me both keys. Sorry cant do that. Once the new key is made the old one gets deactivated. So basically if I leave my room for a half hour and need to get back in I might have to go down to the desk first and wait on line to get a new key. Super convenient.
The Eventi is a nice hotel in Midtown. Good restaurant and bar, clean and comfortable. I made an error in booking, (wrong week) which I immediately tried to correct, and was initially declined based on policy. A second call to hotel management yielded an easy fix and the change I needed. Would recommend.
This hotel is absolutely top of the line. Exquisite service, gorgeous views, just a five star experience around every corner. The staff is incomparable in their service and dedication to making your stay as comfortable and exciting. They are also so helpful if you have any questions on where to go or what to enjoy nearby! We had the BEST BREAKFAST at a little bagel stop just a few blocks away thanks to the front desk staff!! I highly recommend this location and will be traveling here to stay again and again. Bravo!!
Rooms are generally a little larger than your standard hotel room. The hotel is in a great neighborhood. The beds were just okay comfort wise. The wo*** checking us in was very friendly. The best thing was the coffee. Room was spotless. In short, a nice place to stay.
Well designed rooms with well appointed bathrooms that are modern while not being too cold. We got lucky with the views and were able to see fireworks, but I wouldn’t say the views are particularly noteworthy. The staff was accommodating and pleasant. Wine tasting and morning coffee are always a nice plus at Kimpton hotels, too.
I only attended a short networking event. It was held at a small meeting area on the 3rd floor. The size of the area was well suited for the amount of people that attended. Light refreshments were available with the staff cleaning and distributing pretty quick. The hotel was clean and the furniture and decorations modern. No complaints in my short time there.
Really fantastic place to stay. Employees were great all around, rooms were clean and beautiful, and the food options were incredible. It is also in an incredible location in Chelsea; I was lucky enough to get a room with a view of the tops of both the Empire State Building and the NY Life Building, which was pretty awesome, since we were able to catch the little light shows on Christmas Eve. Highly recommend this place!
This hotel is within walking distance from the train station. It is has a cute hipster vibe in the lobby with 2 attached bars. Drinks are pricey, but it is a comfortable atmosphere. The rooms are clean....there is no ice machine and you have to call to have it brought up. Service was fine. I would recommend staying there.
Amazing stay, amazing style, even more amazing staff! Loved every part of this. I am a loyal lover of Kimpton properties but assumed that the NYC way of hotels would taint this one a bit. Man was I wrong. I’ve stayed at much pricier places that did not hit the mark as well as this one. Plus my wife called ahead to arrange a surprise for me in the room, and Vanessa went above and beyond and really made my stay extra special.
Had a great stay. We loved the central position of the hotel. Our view was great. Concierge were friendly and helpful. Tips: join Kimptons Karma Rewards on their website for free wifi. The staff at the hotel are all very friendly and attentive. Everything was kept spotlessly clean during my stay there.
You know what you will get when you stay with this line of hotels. Stayed at Kimpton on both coasts - there is a certain level of standard they maintain. Rooms at Eventi are nicely sized and comfortable. Stayed at this and other Kimptons nearby with good experience. Nice happy hours at the bar, appetizers were surprisingly good as well. Bathroom is done well and clean. If you are going to order breakfast make sure you are not in a rush to get to a meeting, somehow it is slow. The food is delicious, but you may not to get to eat it. I stopped doing it as it became a waste of food and money, instead grabbed something from a shop on my way to my destination. The staff are excellent, very helpful and attentive. They help you receive and send packages if needed. Recommend it, check it out!
Marvelous customer service! The hotel room we got was quite spacious. The bathroom was a size of a small studio. Recommend the Jacuzzi. The balcony has a view of the Empire State Building and is actually a shared outdoor space separated by plants serving as dividers.
Gwen our waitress was so kind and patient. Rest of the staff was professional & helpful. Food was excellent. Steak cooked medium rare properly. Rustic & inventive food! Awesome event space for weddings & professional events with large & clear outdoor screen overlooking fountain and plaza.
I am sure it would be just fine if the wake-up call went as planned. I thought my room was very clean. There is a good selection of wine. Complimentary coffee and tea in the lobby every morning. I thought the room was beautiful. Very friendly welcome from the desk clerk.
The hotel was a very modern and chic, with a very welcoming front desk. I did have some trouble finding the hotel because the entrance is wedged in between a restaurant and another establishment. Also, the only place that says Kimpton is on the right door (which was propped open). The room was nice and had a great view of the city. I have one major complaint, which was about the room service breakfast we requested: it did not arrive in the 15-minute window we requested and half the order was wrong. Normally this isnt a big deal but we requested that time interval due to time constraints with our departure. Again, not normally a big deal, but with our time constraint and how much room service cost youd expect better service.
The hotel itself was beautiful and they offer a wine hour where your dog is permitted to come with you. This is the reason for the three stars. Unfortunately there was alot of bad. Upon check in the man working at the front desk was extremely rude to my wife. He tells her insert your credit card, she asks whats that for? Assuming its the deposit, no problem but she just wanted to clarify. Instead of saying thats what it was, he rudely goes just do it. Are you kidding me? What kind of customer service is that. Additionally I am not sure what he did but the hotel hold ended up being $1800 on our account and was held for two weeks after we left. We will never stay at another Kimpton hotel again.
We stayed at the wonderful Kimpton Hotel Eventi on Presidents Day weekend and loved everything about it. We were given an upgraded room with a fabulous view of the Empire State Building. Front desk staff member Marilyn was very personable, friendly and helpful with all my questions. The Premier suite was spacious with a separate bedroom, a huge bathroom and two large TVs. The sleeper sofa is uncomfortable to sleep in but the manager Hanna made sure the housekeeper added padding and extra comforters to correct that. The housekeeper did such an excellent job that it was 200% better the next evening. I also asked if it was possible to get contact lens solution (forgot at home!) and was pleased to have some delivered within minutes to my door. This hotel has excellent customer service. Definitely worth the time to enjoy a delicious meal in LAmico restaurant, or even The Vine. Good location near to Penn Station for train travellers. We enjoyed every minute of our stay, Big thank you to John the manager for going above and beyond our expectations. We will definitely return.
The rooms are slightly dated, however the atmosphere is still very nice and the rooms at rather large for a NYC hotel. The best part is they are completely dog friendly with no restrictions on size or breed. I have two dogs over 50lb so finding a nice hotel that also accommodates them was tough, but Eventi fit the bill nicely. I was very pleased with my stay and will certainly use this hotel in the future.
Attended a company party here. The party space was very nice, somewhat modern. Service was excellent and the layout of the space was great with plenty of seating and an accessible bar. Food was good, but the dessert buffet was lacking (no chocolate!). Overall a very nice venue for a holiday party.
I was lucky that I could find this hotel. I got great price for their grand opening promotion. The room was very modern and clean. My wife loved bathroom. The size was kind of small, but it is Manhattan! The location is also excellent: not so close to crowd noisy area, but not far from fancy streets. The parking fee was reasonable. They hold luggages for extra hours(days) after check out.The staffs are very nice and professional.I will definitely stay at this hotel again.
This hotel really deserves 5 stars! If you check in ask for Victoria, Kevin, Marilyn or Allan at the front desk! They really are exceptional!! I once had an issue with a menacing yellow cab. Not to worry as he doormen rescued me! This is one of my favorite places to stay in NYC!
Yet another great time at the Eventi. Not only the location is great but the way the staff makes you feel at home, its priceless. Went there for the second time this year was a really nice treat. They had the North Veranda open for cocktail hour and you can see down 6th Ave all the way down to the new Freedom Tower, it was a great way to spend the afternoon. Decor of the hotel is very contemporary, which we love. Always looking forward top go back there and I just made our reservations for Christmas time...
Wonderful location, friendly and helpful staff, great food and drink options, and I didn’t even get to the room yet! This place exceeded my expectations on almost every level. The front desk staff (young woman who’s bday was on Groundhogs day) was so welcoming that we knew instantly we were in great hands. The lobby was warm and inviting and I actually liked that it wasn’t a massive lobby with cold decor. There are big leather couches with little nooks to cozy up into. Upstairs, our room had a spectacular view of the city with a floor to ceiling and wall to wall window! The amenities were comfortable, the bathroom was clean, and the rainfall shower head was a nice touch. We also took advantage of The Vine bar downstairs and the food (bao buns & charcuterie) was fast, pretty good sized portions and really tasty. The drinks were pricey but were well worth it. The bartender, Allister, was super nice, professional, and can mix up fantastic drinks in no time. He was the only bartender the night we were there and he held the place down. It was impressive! I’ve traveled to a decent number of hotels in NYC but this is the first time I want to keep coming back to one. Kimpton Eventi, until next time!
The staff were the best, super sweet and made sure that I was completely taken care of. The presidential suite on floor 5 was one of the most amazing rooms in New York City. It has all the amenities you would want in a hotel. The location is great as well. Short walk to metro and bus stops.
Prices quality is not good here. The lobby is okay and the room is medium but for the price of a 5 star hotel. The hotel is used to have short time guests and I would not recommend a long stay here. My credit card got charged $600 every day as a “deposit” they said. Total of $4.000 deposit !!!!. This is so crazy. After a week stay they then charged the total amount to be paid again without deducting the deposit. Now 2 weeks later I still have not got the total deposit back. Not customer friendly and out of the many good hotels in New York I would say away from this one
Our first time staying at this hotel in NYC but not our last. Great location in Chelsea. The room was so large, a bonus in this town. The restaurant served great food. Everyone there was professional and friendly. We plan to make this hotel our go-to place for future NYC trips.
Stayed here over July 4th holiday. I got an upgraded room however still a little small, a good bit of the sq. ft. was a narrow hallway in the room. Cool view of the Empire State Building and an overall great location. Missed out on the roof top area and restaurant bar area. Which look really great. Would gladly stay here again!
My very first time in NYC. I made a bold move and came solo. Not knowing anything or anyone I trusted my gut instinct and booked with this hotel based off reviews and man was it a great decision. Very nice hotel and close to all the hot spots. One of the hotel team members Alex made my trip an amazing experience. Was super friendly and didnt mind taking time to tell me how to get to places and give me directions and made sure I was going to the right places prepared and knowing what to expect. Take my advice and stay and this hotel and ask for Alex if you have any questions about places or just simply need a hand with anything or getting a ride anywhere. Would highly recommend to anyone to stay here. Thank you all again.
I attended a corporate party at the Hotel Eventi and the event was held on the second floor where the space has indoor/outdoor access. The air conditioning was almost nonexistent and most of my friends were discussing how hot it was. There were passed appetizers, however, I was waiting on a line with several other people and the servers would just pass us by. The food was good, however, if there are not enough tables to sit or stand with your plate (so you can place it down), and I dont expect there to be with a group of our size, then pulled pork sandwiches and spareribs are pretty hard to eat if you have to hold your plate and eat at the same time. The drinks were very good and the bartenders did not under pour on the alcohol. All the bartenders were very pleasant even as they were working very hard to accommodate such a large group.
I been in this 5?star hotel since Friday, we booked this hotel to be very comfortable and not worry about anything, every since we got here every morning we had to call for either towel which the house keeper forgot, coffee, shampoo, or soap. I literally mean everyday. I’m not sure if these people are told to save money for the hotel or they really don’t know what they are doing. We paid a lot for the night but the service we got was really equal to 2 star hotel. The worst hotel in New York. Waste of money
Run, dont walk, to this Kimpton property. Incredible customer service, beautiful accommodations and conveniently located for walking to multiple neighborhoods. Customer service was top notch -- Marilyn was a GEM. The entire staff was friendly and courteous, the property is well-kept and the rooms are comfortable. Already looking forward to my next stay at this wonderful hotel!
Booked this hotel through Priceline and it was a really good deal. Priceline had it as a rated as a five star hotel. Now maybe five star hotels in NYC are a little different than in other cities, but I was disappointed in this space. The people were super nice, especially at the front desk. However the room was tiny and there was no coffee maker in the room. The hotel had complimentary coffee until 9 a.m., but if you missed that window, a cup of coffee would set you back four bucks. I think next time I visit NYC, I will focus on amenities instead of on stars. We did have a view of the Empire State Building which was nice.
This hotel just exudes cool. Great design gives the lobby that feels nothing like a hotel. Three solid restaurants and bars make this a destination you could enjoy without walking outside for days. Walking distance to Penn Station and many rooms have an Empire State Building view. I love this hotel.
The room was great for NYC. However, some basic essentials are missing including ice buckets - you have to call and wait for this to be brought up. The service was okay but not what would expected of this brand. I had to make repeated calls for basic services to be delivered. The restaurants on the first floor are fantastic!
What a wonderful hotel, staffs are friendly and helpful. Atmosphere is cozy and romantic. The pricing is a little high but worth every penny because their hospitality is great. Lots to do around this hotel steps away from herald square and Korea town and a light walk to times square. Overall this is the hotel to stay in during your next visit to nyc. Furthermore, the room are super clean and luxuries.
It was ok. Our travel agent gave us two other suggestions. We chose this one cause it was a Kimpton, but next time well choose the Archer. The good:1. Great location.2. Had a salad at The Vine and it was excellent.3. It was clean. The bad:1. Lady up front said we were upgraded a deluxe King. My wife and I surely felt like the bed was a queen.2. Upon arrival the room had a 1/2 opened hand cream. And missing a few amenities. When we called up for them, I had to call 3 times to get them.3. Also, didnt realize it was a dog-friendly hotel where we got woken up in the middle of the night by a non-stop barking dog.4. Checked out the front desk guy didnt even ask how our stay was.All in all, for the price we expected to be wowed. And all we said to ourselves was, this is nice.
Old hotel with scratches all over the wood floors and over anything with a glass surface. Not worth anywhere close to what I paid.I paid $659 for the Executive one bedroom suite, the highest price room they had because I wanted a certain level of comfort and lesser options described a city view. I arrived at hotel at 130pm and was told the room wasnt ready and to come back at 3pm. I arrived later and when I got to my room it did not have a city view. I immediately called and spoke to the desk and was told that a city room wasnt ready but that if I packed my bags and left them at the door, they would transfer me to the correct room in the morning. When I arrived at 9pm, they had no idea what I was talking about but attempted to make a transfer. Then, after giving me the new key, the manager came out and said she couldnt do it since the room was not clean. How could it not be clean if I left this morning at 730pm and havent been back all day? In the end, they broke their promise and instead of trying to do the right thing and honor what they told me, they took the offer away in lieu of a some promo in the future whenever I am back in NY. Sure, how do I even know they would honor then or if even the manager would even be there in 6 months. Dont stay here. Its old and there are better options I found as I walked around Chelsea. Take five min and look around for someone else.
We stayed here for 2 nights as part of our road trip. Great location if you want access to Penn Station. The price was great for what we received. We always had transport willingly available to us from the resort. The wedding was brilliantly planned and catered by the hotel.
As usual Kimpton does not disappoint. The doormen were attentive to the very busy lobby, and not hard on the eye either. Desk clerks were also attentive and very friendly. Since we were early for check in they offered to take our luggage and store it while we enjoyed the city. The room was clean and fresh as usual for Kimpton. Beautifully designed and great views. The location was perfect our trip. Walking distance from Penn Station, Times Square, Fashion District, and Greenwich village. A short Uber drive to Central Park and other destinations.Looking forward to our next trip to NYC
Very pleasant hotel. The staff were helpful, especially one of the doormen. The room was very clean and modern. We had a great two-nights’ stay. The only down side (hence four stars instead of five) was the very last few minutes when another doorman tried to convince us to take a hotel car to the nearby bus station for a fixed rate of $50. The bus station, by the way, is less than a mile away. We took an uber and paid $12. If in doubt - uber it.
Excellent location, excellent views. Reasonably-sized rooms, which can be hard to find for a good price in NYC. Spectacular customer service, as per usual with Kimpton properties. Awesome outdoor balcony area for wine hour on nice days. Both restaurants attached to the hotel are fantastic as well.
Wonderful front desk staff. They went above and beyond to get us into a room 2 hours early and they also sent up cupcakes/champagne for my moms birthday! View from our room was amazing as well. I will say that we went to the restaurant twice, once for dessert and once for lunch before we left, and both times we felt that the service was sub-par. At lunch we were helped by about 4 different workers, some more pleasant than others. We were informed by the most courteous one that a server had just quit and she was responsible for the entire floor. We felt bad, but we were running into problems left and right. One of us received the wrong salad, it took constant reminders to get the extra chicken asked for, and when we inquired about a pizza we ordered 15 minutes later we were told that it would be put in now. Super unorganized and unprofessional in the restaurant, but all other aspects of the hotel were awesome!
Location is convenient, near subway stations and Penn Station just around the corner. The lobby interior is beautiful and welcoming to hang out. The coffee bar has great La Colombe brewed coffee, and the breakfast pastry selection was delicious, especially the banana bread. The rooms were somewhat spacious for New York, but I loved that the bathroom was generously large. The shower stall seemed to not do a good job at keeping water sealed in - I had to clean up puddles after showers. The beds are very comfortable, but the pillow sheets had a bit of unpleasant scent to it. Loved that they provide you a list of items they can either give you or let you borrow (i.e. basic toothbrush to a curlng iron, phone charger, and humidifier!). I borrowed the humidifier, which was great but dirty. Hope they can switch put to new ones or take the time to clean these after each use. Overall, satisfied with the stay and would definitely come again.
The Kimpton Hotel Event was very nice. The rooms are nicely up updated for a modern feel. The location was perfect - just a short walk from Penn Station. We walked to Times Square, Rockefeller Center and Chelsea Market from the hotel. There are a lot of shops and restaurants nearby. I liked the market across the street for a quick, affordable breakfast or lunch. The hotel restaurant was excellent. I also liked the daily, complimentary wine hour.
Nice hotel. Bed is very uncomfortable. Here for three nights and may find another hotel with a more comfortable bed as my back already hurts. When I asked is they had different pillows or mattress pads I was told I could have additional blankets which would not help. Not very happy with the response or bed situation.
We had a very pleasant experience at the Kimpton Eventi hotel. All of the staff was very friendly and helpful and the room, etc were clean and comfortable. To top off the wonderful service, I realized the night we returned from our trip that I had left two dresses hanging in the closet of our hotel room. I called and they connected me to the lost and found. He said he didnt see anything that I described. Not a minute later after hanging up the phone he called back and described the two dresses I was missing and took my shipping information down to ship to me FedEx the next day. About 30 minutes after i spoke with the guy who took my info, I got an additional phone call from the hotel confirming my shipping info, etc. Costumer service is top notch and the hotel is clean and enjoyable.
Nice little hotel; Im fond of the Kimpton brand. Rooms are small, but very adequate and clean. Situated perfectly if youre attending an event at Madison Square Garden. If youre a Kimpton Karma Rewards member, you can get a $15 raid the minibar credit, which is nice.I did take a bottle of champagne out of the minibar, but it tasted like it had expired. I explained this to the front desk staff, and they said they would make a note to NOT charge for it, but they charged me anyways - thats why I docked them a star.
Cannot say enough good things about the service at this hotel. Vanessa Jerome, in Concierge, helped me surprise my husband while he was on a business trip with a sweet gift and treats in his room. She went out of her way to make it extra special and was SO helpful. Amazing place!
Plus my wife called ahead to arrange a surprise for me in the room, and Vanessa went above and beyond and really made my stay extra special.I tend to hop around to different hotels when I frequent nyc, but I may have found a new permanent home.
Came here for a wedding in June where the ceremony and reception were held. Gueslist was about 150 or so and the space accommodated the event very well. The outdoor balcony cocktail hour allowed guests to see the urban landscape and apparently there was even option to display footage from the wedding party on to the large LED screen across the building which would have been awesome. Bride and groom also booked the overnight suite which even included a library and bar. It was a nice place for the bridal party to get ready and rest when needed. Overall, the space was very nice and offered luxuries that was perfect for a wedding.
LOVE this hotel...stayed there close to 10 times now over the last 3 years, and love the renovation as well as the people who work there. Kevin really took care of me the last time I was there, in March, but theres not a single person there who doesnt smile and make you feel as though youre a part of the family. I give this hotel my highest recommendation, and thats not an easy recommendation to get, because I work in the customer service industry. If I have anything cautionary to say, its this: before you randomly order 2 glasses of whatever cab theyre pouring at the bar, make sure youre aware its $18/glass first.
House keeping was good and good location for sight seeing. Hotel has good facilities and the evening complimentary drinks between 17:00-18:00 on the third floor were excellent. Although the actual surrounding area is not the best so didnt feel 100% safe but had no issues its located 30th Street whereas 55th Street close to central park seems safer (where we stayed before)For a 5 star we expected better service from the door men. Previous experience we had at there hotels was better. On the last day we asked for help to flag a taxi - this did not happen, had to flag it ourselves. Nobody helped us with the 5 suitcases or the big heavy doors to the hotel - this was disappointing.
I stayed at this hotel for my sixteenth birthday along with my friend, mom and sister. We got two rooms, one with two beds and one with one king bed. They decorated my room with balloons, cupcakes, chocolate covered strawberries and flowers. I also received a letter atop my flowers that thanked me for wanting to spend my birthday at their hotel and wishing my a happy birthday. We stayed for a total of three nights and everything was fabulous. I am so happy that I chose this hotel for my birthday because I will never forget it.
Heaven on Earth--thats how it felt to be at the Eventi! Having spent 4 nights at the Paramount Hotel in order to escape Hurricane Sandy, I needed to stay in a hotel for a bit longer. The Eventi is everything you could want in a hotel and for a great price!Staff is helpful and were quick to check us in and help us with our bags.Luxurious and warm decor from the moment you step in the lobby to the moment you close the door to your room.Huge comfortable bed with fluffy pillows! Huge bathroom with different shower head options (rain or hand held)! Plentiful towels and expensive soaps by Etro! They also have a note of things they have on hand if you need...and if they dont, theyll go get it!Theres complimentary coffee and tea in the morning plus a gym--unfortunately I didnt make it to the gym, pulling 12 hour days at work.I saw this hotel as it was being built and I never thought it could be everything that it truly is. This is one sexy, sophisticated hotel! And because the Eventi was such an amazing experience, Ill search for a Kimpton hotel the next time Im traveling!
Ive been to the Eventi a couple times now, for a work event and to grab drinks at the bar. Staff is always great and drinks are solid. Recently grabbed a drink in the lobby bar and sat in the back outdoor area. It was a nice, early summer weekend night... only complaint was that it faces a public plaza and there were some homeless ppl laying around and making the general experience less than ideal.
Really nice hotel, amazing location. 5 minutes walk from Penn station and about 20 minutes from Times Square. The staff were fantastic at check in and even managed a random request from friends back in the UK to give us champagne as a birthday present. Thank you so much!
A wonderful place to stay. The staff is great and the room was wonderful. Make sure to look at the website, they usually have a promotion to get an upgrade with a secret phrase or activity. They have great free coffee and hot chocolate in the morning in the lobby and there is a free wine happy hour in the evening. The sofas in the reception area have USB ports under the seats to charge your devices and the internet speed is great. We had a great birthday dinner in the Italian restaurant just off the lobby, great service and above average food. Make sure to get a reservation for a table early as it is very popular with the locals. Also, there is a Nordstrom Rack across the street to grab any last minute item you may have forgotten.
The hotel is okay but overall I probably wouldnt stay there again. The rooms are pretty small for the price, even for NYC. Our room phone wasnt properly set up so reaching hotel services was more annoying than it should have been. We didnt eat at the restaurant but did get coffee in the morning (which was overpriced and not made very well). If staying the night in NYC, I would suggest staying elsewhere.
This hotel is in a great location -- close to multiple subway stations, Koreatown, and a few blocks from Times Square. The property is modern looking but not overly so. Staff are friendly and accomdating and act like they actually enjoy their jobs. Two restaurants are on site and always busy.

2022-04-30We had a wonderful stay here for our anniversary. Victoria, the manager, was very helpful and professional, she upgraded our room to corner deluxe one to help us feel the atmosphere of NYC. Views from 23rd floor are stunning! Hotel stuff is very attentive and friendly, housekeepers are always smiling. The hotel is located in the center of everything, so we had a chance to explore Brooklyn and Upper Manhattan. Coffee shop on first floor is amazing, we never had an opportunity to explore the restaurant, but I’m pretty sure it’s nice as well. And wanted to say the design of this hotel - I loved it.

2022-06-23I love this hotel! Sweet staff! Everybody is so nice and responsive. They wear uniforms! There was free wine in the lobby the night I was there - they were celebrating the launch of their new loyalty plan. Maybe that was a one-off but it was great hanging out and chatting with staff and strangers. I have a feeling they probably look for reasons to have a lobby party with some frequency. And now: THE ROOM. One of my favorite business travel rooms ever. Newly renovated and gorgeous, AND: You can open the window!! I LOVE THAT. Makes a huge difference when you are trapped in the room working. Extremely comfortable beds...rain type showerhead, so pleasant...electric outlets easily accessible everywhere you need them...and when you close that window its totally soundproof: Thats a biggie in the pulsing heart of Chelsea in midtown Manhattan.

2022-01-26I was initially perplexed as to where the hotel was because I walked right past it, mistaking it for a restaurant entrance. Interior is elegant, and happy hours for coffee in the morning and a glass of wine in the evening are not to be missed. Perhaps there was no access to the patio due to the pandemic, and I believe some upper level floors/rooms were unavailable due to renovation, because as an IHG Elite member, I requested a comp upgrade and was denied. Before you get charged at random, make sure you check your mini fridge and notify the front desk if anything is missing. However, the hospitality was excellent. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and the room was spacious and clean. Bed and pillows werent horrible, but just not very comfortable for me.

2022-06-15We spent a week in NYC this May and stayed at this incredible hotel. Our expectations were MORE then met. The staff was extremely helpful, friendly and personable. When we arrived, we were greeted at the front desk by Jennifer who was extremely friendly and told us she would try to get our room ready for an early check in. She went out of her way to get that done and called us when our room was readyThe doormen (Dino, Alex, Kirk and Derek) were consistently helpful and kind. They were always right there, opening the door, saying good morning and asking what we had planned for the day. Every morning they would give us directions to our destination, and every evening they would make sure to ask us how it was. When one of our phones were left in an Uber after dinner one night, they spent hours making sure we got it back, while Jodi, the manager kept us calm with conversation until our phone was returned to us.The hotel itself was beautiful with incredible views of the city and located in a very centralized location. Our room was clean with amazing artwork and a huge bathroom and floor to ceiling windows. The hotel also boasts incredible restaurants with amazing food at a very reasonable price range with a beautiful atmosphere.All-in-all everyone at the Eventi made us feel like family and it truly is a home away from home for us. This is definitely where we will be staying next time we come to the city, no questions asked.-Natasha Lemon & Maggie OShea (aka Eloise)

2022-04-19Only spotted my status at the last minute at check-in, and then managed to offer an upgraded room. When asked about a late check out I got the were sold out so no excuse, which is surprising as they had a lot of rooms for sale on their web site for that night. Why lie? Very noisy air con and banging pipes in the room too.

2022-06-29The Kimpton Hotel Eventi is modern, chic, and stunning! Everything from the central location, the welcoming staff, and the luxurious hotel amenities made my stay and experience in NYC incredible! The rooms are very spacious with the most gorgeous city views! Theres almost no need to leave the hotel given the AMAZING lobby restaurant, LAmico! I also highly recommend ending your day with an amazing cocktail by the fireplace at The Vine!

2022-02-03Positive: Good location, decent lobby. The luggage man that held our bags before we left and ordered us a car was the only hospitable staff. That about it. Customer service lacking. Negative: Our room was definitely worn. Apparently they are undergoing renovations of upper floors. We booked a king city view which was supposed to be above the 14th floor. Instead we were placed on the 7th floor and told we were upgraded but rooms were no dif.

2022-01-18Located right in the middle of Chelseas wholesale/ flower district is this very subtle hotel. You enter and the staff is friendly. My friend was staying there and we had the best time. The atmosphere is subtle, transitional surrounding makes it comfortable to make it yours while in there. Great hotel and highly recommended

2022-06-04We stayed from May 28th of June 4th. The staff are helpful and attentive with great service. The rooms were cleaned to a high standard daily. The rooms made us feel at home and with very comfortable beds. The hotel has a wonderful lounge boutique feel with a very open front and lobby and two restaurants. Other hotels feel separate with a cold lobby that keeps the city out, the Kimpton brings the feel of NYC from the streets into the hotel. We had great views of the city from our room. One improvement would be a kettle and tea/coffee in the room, that would have made it perfect. Otherwise best choice for location, comfort and cool in NYC, the excellent staff top it off to make it a great experience.

2022-06-14Positive: Good sized room and bathroom for NYC. Good location but a little hard to find initially- poor signage on the outside of the hotel. Otherwise no complaints at all! Also, my husband forgot his laptop in the safe. The hotel called us and informed us.
