Kingston Tropical Bakery in Bronx
The patties are dope. I like a good beef patty that flavorful, spicy and NOT so flaky. I despise crumbs (thats a bit strong) these patties are really delicious. The chicken, beef or veggie you cant go wrong. Get there early they close early these days due to Covid but worth the try.
This establishment needs to be more prideful in their quality control if the products they sell. I recently visited the area to grab 4 coco bread and the lady serving offered me a free bread and I thought that was kind of her only to find out once I got in my car that the breads was all over baked and extremely dry and hard smh. Im not the one to put a person business down however I hope they recognize the importance of quality food control has this is what represents their brand.
Very good place to go eat beef patties. The place is small, not a seat in eating place but you can take on the go. They have everything freshly made. They have different patties, chicken, beef, vegetables, etc. They also carry Coco bread, which is very tasty. Price is moderate, expect to pay $2.50 for a patty. They have soda and juices to flush down your patty. The parties especially the beef is spicy. They are filled from corner to corner not like your neighborhood pizza shop that has a bit of meat in the middle and flaky flakes all over. These stay in tack, not flaky, oven baked, tasty, so enjoy. Place is clean, organized and menu is big and clear with bold letters. They are pure caribbean personnel, so expect the accent. Right on the corner of 226th street and white plains road.
Best patties in NYC, so they are arguably the best on the planet. Perfectly baked, not your typical greasy patties. Always a line, but the service is swift. I have tried all of their products, all are delicious. You cant say you love Jamaica patties, unless you have been here!
I have not been to this spot in a minute but hands down they got the best patty in the Bronx second to Brooklyn at Mr chin off of Eastern Parkway and Lincoln Ave. This Bronx spot has meat loaf, soft coco bread and the patties are amazing. The bread pudding is awesome ,only thing missing from the bread pudding is a little rum, yes rum, lol. Great spot for authentic Jamaican patties. Try them, just be prepared to wait a little theres always a line. Well worth it!
Hot as hell patties! Some of the best patties and coco bread when the spicy is not over powering. I just really wished my daughter could eat them too. They really need to make a spicy and non spicy patty. Why the heck do it have to be that spicy. Would of gave 5 stars but I sometimes its unedible because of the spice.
My favorite west Indian bakery in the world! The meatloaf is mouthwatering. My family love the beef patties but they are a second option for me. Staff is fast and work efficiently also always professional. Although you can not get cooked food such as oxtail, fish or curry goat the menu and quality of food they do serve more than make up for it. I highly recommend you check out this west Indian bakery if you are in NY.
THE BEST PATTIES in the world! Their coco breads are delicious too my mouth is watering right now just thinking about it. You must try this place! I recommend you try their veggie patties they use cabbage, carrots, broccoli infused in a nice garlic spice flavor the smell is delicious. They don’t “mush” the veggies so you still get a nice crisp bite😍. I pair up my food with a nice cold champagne cola and I’m good to go!
Their Beef patty with Cocoa Bread cured all my ailments. I will only get that at this bakery, super delicious and the cute lil old lady is super nice! The meatloaf was the best for me since its just the meat inside of the cocoa bread. I come here from far just to buy these patties!
This place has been around for years. I use to live in 234 street. I now live in Connecticut. No matter how many times I’ve moved. I always come back here. Their amazing patties and coco bread. I’ve tried other places. But nothing compares to Kingston tropical bakery. This place is number one always. The Best of the Best. Thank you Kingston. ❤️❤️❤️
I have not been here in years but the taste of their patties remains as delicious as the forat time I had it many years ago. I am so happy to see that the Food Network even presented this culinary Bronx landmark. If you have the urge for delicious Jamaican patties and other goods, go there.
My favorite bakery, only setback is they do cash only and although there is an atm inside I would prefer the option of using my card at the register. There was a really cool cashier there the last time I made my purchase, I forgot to get his name, he was cracking jokes and was very pleasant, well all the staff is, but he stood out even more. Good pastries, breads and good customer service, 4 stars from me.
This bakery has the best bake products Ive ever tasted it doesnt matter how far I move away I have to come back no other bakery can stand against this one I would definitely recommend patties carrot cake bread anytime I walk in its hard to choose I go crazy with the different products because theyre all good stop by you will not regret it 😜
Best bakery hands down. I have been enjoying the delicious patties from here for as long as I can remember. The cocoa bread is so good you dont need no pattie. Everything is hot fresh and out of this world. My grandmother use to take me here and now I take my grandchildren.
Kingston Tropical Bakery is a MUST VISIT for any foodie who wants a real taste of authentic Jamaican beef patties. People come from all over the city just to have a beef patty and coco bread from Kingston and thats not an exaggeration. Great food will make you travel and this place is worth the trip. The soft, buttery, crisp, fresh coco bread and a meaty, light beef patty go perfect together. Kingston knows what they are doing and every visit is a delight. Lunch time always brings a line, but walk in and relax. Get in line and enjoy the smell of the fresh bakery bread and wait.... because when you finally get to the counter and order, the mouth watering first bite of that beef patty will remind you why you came!! GO NOW!! I am getting in my car and going myself. Just writing this review makes me want one.
The patties were fresh but the flavor was not outstanding, however it was satisfying. They forgot to put my vegetable party in my bag and I paid for it already. I didnt realize until I got to my destination. Would not necessarily go out of my to go here but if Im in the neighborhood Ill stop by for a patty.
Theyre a bakery that concentrates on what they do best. They really have the best patties. They are seasoned to perfection with great fillings (my favorites are beef and chicken) They dont add stuff to stretch them and the crust holds up and is flavorful. I cant leave there without my carrot loaf cake. Its moist and nutfree... (my daughter has nut allergies) The cake is perfectly balanced and the delicious. The smell stays in my car...yum. I pick up one for me and one to take to friends houses when invited for dinner. Dont pass there without stopping in!
I gave them five stats because they have with stood the test of time. They have hands down the best veggie patties. As it goes with Caribbean spots their beef patties are the fattest and at the top of the Caribbean food spots. The amount of meat has slightly declined as they add more fillers mostly bread based inside their patties. But they are still tasty and always warm. Ive lived in this area roughly 38 years and Caribbean spots on a whole have non-caribbean foods. Their veggie pattie is as close as you will get to a true Caribbean experience....
Great food, its a shame that the servers are now consistently unable to get the orders correct. I have now gone their twice in the past 3 weeks, and my order has been wrong both times, even after I repeated myself over 3 times to these servers. At this point, I will either have to figure out which day and time has the most attentive servers, or I will stop coming completely.
Let me start off with the cons. They have no space to sit & they take cash only. Thats it for the bad parts. This is an amazing delicious little spot for authentic Jamaican beef patties & coco bread among other things. The patties are well seasoned & the coco bread is so soft & sweet. I ALWAYS get at least a pair along with Cream soda. Service is quick & right to the point. They have fridges inside. Also steps away from the 2 or 5 train for convenience.
If U want fresh patties, cocoa bread, baked goods, then look no further. Ive been patronizing this spot since I was introduced to it as a youth thru family. Tables have now turned and I have a family of my own who love their patties, and cocoa bread. A family establishment and staple in the community for years. Quality food, and service shows why they are still around. Big up KTB!!!
This bakery is beyond amazing. This is by far the best meat loaf and patties that the i have ever had. Always fresh and hot. The customer service is always amazing. Never once was a worker rude and unruly. I come all the way from Connecticut to get these items and trust me i dont think Ill be stopping any time soon. Its also good pricing. Just make sure you come with cash because they dont accept cards. They do how ever have an atm inside handy in case you forgot your cash.Bless up.
Fresh homemade beef, chicken or vegetable patties. Coco bread soft and delicious. I came at the last minute of closing and the patties and bread where fresh and delicious. This is a local favorite in the community and very popular. Staff friendly and place very clean.
This was my first visit and I loved it! My parents are Jamaican, so I know authentic Jamaican food when I taste it. The hard dough twist bread was soft and chewy, just the way it should be. I also had the meat pie. I would have preferred a traditional pattie, but it was something new to try. But since the meat was pattie meat, that made it good.
Food is amazing but start staking credit cards. Youll make so much more money. I wanted to order 2 dozen but didnt have enough cash and it was too rainy to go to the bank. I also wanted to order a 100 for an event but Im not carrying that much cash to pay for that many patties. I know they do it for tax reasons which is a poor business choice...
For a quick bite, you can never go wrong with Kingston Bakery. A long standing staple in the BRONX community, I have been going there for years. The patties are tasty and the Coco bread delicious. not to mention all the other baked goods they sell. The food is really great. Plus, the staff are always professional. Its worth the trip!
They have awesome food there. Coconut bread is great, no coco bread, sorry, thats what its called coco bread. Everything is great. There its just not the cleanest, but thats not their fault, everything is great, everything is great, and yes, I know I repeated it twice, I meant to because its awesome parking is not that good at, though its hard to find parking, but everything else perfection
There patties and coco bread are the most delicious in the Bronx. The place is very clean and the people are very courteous and friendly I love it. I live further away but as a child I grew up in that area on 224th St. and that is The only place where I would go by my patties and Coco bread, especially their raisin bread its delicious
Service is terrible and quality of product is waning. The last time I went, I ordered two dozen coco bread and they gave me stale, day old bread; which they admitted to. I asked for fresh bread and they gave me 24 coco bread from out of the window where they were serving the rest of he customers. When I got them back to Jersey (which took 1.5 hours driving) I found the coco bread not only over baked but some were moldy! I’ve lost all faith in this business. Idk if they’re baking too much bread and warming it up to give the old food to unsuspecting customers, but they’re playing a dangerous game. The investment in time, toll and gas to go to the Bronx to return the moldy food is not worth it.I’m from NJ and I grew up with my parents going to Kingston Tropical bakery to get ital (veggie) patties and coco bread since we were vegetarian. Now that I’m an adult I invest time and money into taking the trip to the Bronx and I spend over $200 on patties and coco bread that I freeze. Which, by the way, once one of the women at the counter argued with me and gave me attitude about ordering so much. And yes I called the order in. Diners beware. If they can serve moldy food, who know what else is going on.
I remember going to this bakery as a teen just to get the Coco Bread! Im so glad they are still in business. As a non meat eater to know they now cater to vegetarians is awsome! Got reintroduced to this place at work a week ago, and been going back almost daily ever since. The Vegi Patties are the best!!! and the Coco bread is soft and fresh just as they were when I was a teen.
Not yelling.....THIS place IS the only place I believe that makes the BEST PADDIES. THEY COOK EVERYTHING THERE! Family owned an operated. For more than 50yrs this place has only gotten better and better. Great service...fast...clean....Neighborhood Mom-n-Pop store...KEEP THEM IN BUSINESS..PLEASE.
Best place in NYC to get Jamican pattys( beef, chicken or veggie) meat loaf, coco bread, bun and cheese, bun, sugar bun, coconut Toto and the best hardo bread!!!! Always a line. I am always amazed at the counter staff who can add a order regardless of size in their heads and always accurate
Absolutely love their patties! For Jamaicans, theres a divide: flaky/crusty vs not. Kingston patties fall in the latter, which is one reason my I love them so much. The patties are very far and dense, packed with either beef, chicken or veggies. Pared with their incredible Coco bread (fluffy, buttery, soft edible clouds, made for the GODs), you cannot go wrong!
Read the reviews about the beef patties here and had to go see for myself. The beef patties are as good as the reviews said, but the meatloaf patties are the big surprise for myself and others I was compelled to introduce this place to. Try for yourself and I doubt youll be disappointed.
I have been going to this store around 36 years, since I was a cop working out of the 47 pct. The others are the same and now the grandkids work there. Great People and by far the tastiest meat pies, coca bread etc. Well wort the visit, you are in and out in 10 mins. Great food !
Omgggg its was delicious my husband took me there for the 1st time tovtry they beef party with coco buns never had it like it before since the day i hsce eaten 3× times either chicken or beef just right seasoned and the bread was delicious I really do recommend this place. Customer service was great they great you like Family.🙏🙋♀️💙
Been there and got to tell you, they are not good... Not great either. They are FANTASTIC!!! They are the real deal from Jamaica, where my mothers family originated. Been to family reunion and they serve them with coco bread. Yummy! I usually washed it down with a large glass of ginger beer, not the one served stateside here but the real deal in Jamaica. *Sigh* Wish the younun can taste genuine good ginger beer and not those sugary colored confections that passes for ginger beer here in the states. UGH!
Im not Jamaican, but my wife is and we go to JA every year. Their patties are meatier and the meat itself is more flavorful than in the motherland. The only thing thats missing is the crust is not nearly as flaky as in Jamaica. But on the bright side, less flaky means less butter (less unhealthy) and less messy.
This is the real ting mon! Watching the 3rd generation of family members maintain the standards of quality set more than 40 years ago, is amazing. You will not get more fresh and authentic patties, breads or pastries ANYWHERE in NYC nor outside of it! You can thank me later. Enjoy!
Di best Bombat patti inna NYC. Vegi beef all of it good. Probs man meh only go here. You guys always feed me feel and for that I will give back by telling you this: Don’t leave your profits in the bank put it into Bitcoin! You hear mi or you deaf?! Decentralized owned by no one! The people’s money.
Kingston Bakery makes the BEST Hardo Bread, Coco Bread in the USA. I ordered 4 dozen cocktail patties for my Sons football game last Saturday and they were a hit at the TAILGATE party after the game. I will continue to support Kingston Bakery everytime. Nuff Respect!!

2021-11-12I was here yesterday bought both chicken and beef to try. So far the beef is good but a little spicy for me I wasn’t sure if there’s an option of mild or spicy. The chicken was also good first time I had it. The size is good enough filling and fills me up quick. Thank you the staff are kind and polite.

2021-12-19Fantastic Beef Patties and Coco bread, fresh out the oven, this place has been here over 40 years, located in the Northern part of the Bronx.

2022-04-18Very good patties and everything but they need to keep bread separate from patties and put them in individual bags. Learn to listen to customers ! The way you bag causes confusion. Try to give good service and your customers will be happy and return!

2022-04-25Several signs stating No Mask No Service. So two white appearing males in front of me were not wearing masks. They were given exceptional service. When its my turn to order the male employee removes his mask and starts have a conversation with another employee behind the counter. I asked the female employee about the beef patties. She answered me. Then immediately after, when I attempted to order she was not listening to me. Instead she was engaging in a conversation with the male employee. So I left. Will never go there again. For the record, I was wearing a mask.

2022-07-21This best Caribbean Bakery I have ever been to. The patties are delicious, and the coco bread is the freshest I ever ate in my life! The carrot juice is amazing and refreshing. Ive been too countless Caribbean restaurants in my life, and they all have something great but, Kingston Tropical is at the top of my list, and worth the ride to the upper Bronx.

2022-05-30Went for the first time yesterday with my husband. He is a carnivore and I a vegetarian/pescatarian. He had the beef pattie and i had the vegetable pattie. As per him it is one of the best he has ever had. The veggie pattie was soooo good. You could tell it was made on premises the veggies were identifiable and had a bite to them. The coco bread was AMAZING! A must have. They only take cash and they have a atm on site.

2022-05-25Busy line 6 people when I got there. And now I see why the meatloaf patty is the bomb. The prices someone posted are out of date, everything is $.50, except the coco bread, more but worth it.Patties big so the price is worth it.Will stop in again for more next time the area.

2018-03-26The saga of 2 Jamaican bakeries only a block from each other. This one is my favorite both for customer service and coco bread.- the coco bread was warm, soft and buttery. Just how you expected it- the meatloaf is very good for what it is (just not a big fan of meat loaves)- the big debate here is which beef patty is better. I give the edge to Kingston bakery both in availability and taste- in terms of customer service this bakery takes the cake. Whether they are familiar with you are not they will smile, laugh and joke with you. Making your experience a very pleasant one- their variety of bakery products can be seen the the pics

2022-02-24Always fresh and delicious patties and coco bread. They’re the absolute best ever. I have been going there for over 40 years now and it’s wonderful.
