Kittatinny Canoes - K-Camp in Barryville

This was my 8th year camping here, I usually bring a group of 40-50 people with me and this year was horrible experience. Staff were so rude, mostly the supervisor at the front desk when I checked in. He insisted me to pay more for a mistake one of their staff made when I made my reservation. I told them I was bringing a group of 40 people and when I got there they said I had only reserved for 24. I told him that was a mistake because I would not reserve 9 campsites for 6 people max in each and pay for 24 only. So he said that whoever did my reservation did it wrong and that I needed to pay more. At this point I was disappointed because I had told my group how much each of them had to pay. I ended up paying almost $600 more besides the 2k I had paid prior. I told the supervisor that I wanted to talk to the reservation people and he said “they’re done for the weekend” which was a lie, because I called on the weekend to make my reservation. I also made a reservation for rafting and paid about $1500 and the lady kept telling “if the kids looked too small they will not let you go” 5 members of my family cancelled that day because they saw the lack of customer service. I usually have fun at this place, but this year was extremely frustrating. This was my last year here and will look elsewhere for our next 4th of July weekend. With that said, I would not recommend this place anymore. I usually refer my friends to go but this year I will not. Besides that, the guy on the zip line is great!!
This is our groups fourth year going here and the group is getting smaller every year due to the bathrooms and shower situation. The grounds are excellent but it’s almost impossible to stay here for a few days when the bathrooms and showers are too filthy to use. There was garbage in the exact same spots of the shower floors and bathroom stalls for the whole 4 days we were just there. Definitely unprofessional and unsanitary.
My family and I have been coming here for years and just this year where they are under new management everything was horrible and has us looking for a new place. Bathrooms were extremely disgusting and unusable. When approaching a staff member to tell them about there bathrooms, they didnt seem to care and simply said there understaffed. It was not as busy as usual this time so there is no reason. There is new rules about wood and even how we light our fire pit! Also only river trips were available and not ziplining or paintballing!...This was not told to us as we pre booked....VERY DISSAPOINTED w/K CAMP
Ive been going here for a two years now, my family and I loved this place until now. the bathrooms were disgusting, nobody cleaned the bathrooms the whole time I was there. The next thing I dont like about the new management is that you have to pay $20 to lock in your campsite, if you dont lock your campsite they will give you a different campsite. Which I dont think its right, if you pay for a certain campsite you should get it regardless no matter what. Then the security kept coming around telling us to turn down our music around 3pm and our music wasnt even loud. My family and I had the worse experience this year. Now we have to look for another place to camp at.
Contacted the general manager about my Lost /stolen items. Never heard from him again. He just blocked my number and wont take return any of my calls about trying to find them .I Would love to go camping again but since my tents and cooler are gone its hard to doAfter further investigation. We realized our suitcase and toiletries were rummage thru . Assuming they were looking for any valuables jewelry , wallet etc. Confirming the fact that our campsite was robbed. Just a reminder this was all done by employees of kittanitty. So happy stays
We arrived at k camp Barryville NY to our assigned spot 2 Riley’s field. This spot is not indicated on the park map-no RV spots are and I think it’s on purpose. We arrived & saw our spot was very tight in between two cabins. The cabins were being rented by the same family/group who had all their stuff in the space between which was our assigned spot 2. We did not speak the same language as this group and they did not seem to understand we were trying to pull into our assigned spot. The camp staff gave us an attitude when we explained this & that there would be no room to park the camper given all the stuff and small space. What’s the point in camping if you can’t hangout outside at your campsite? There was NO room for this in addition to being put in the middle of two cabins shared by a group/family. We finally got switched to a new site after a lot of back and forth. New site was a tent site with no sewer hook up which isn’t a big deal in itself if we hadn’t paid for and been expecting full hook up. We also could have done without the extreme and unnecessary attitude from staff. In addition camp sites were full of trash and many dogs throughout the camp were off leash. Quiet hours were supposed to start at 11 but many were blasting music until 2 AM. No service/no WiFi available-normally not an issue but figured I would add it to the list. I would warn others to stay away especially if you are camping in an RV. This place is not for RV’s!!!!!!
This was the greatest experience of a lifetime I have always been hesitant to go camping. My nephew and wife has been going there With friends & family fr the past 10 years it was their first outdoor activity since being married so they hold it at heart and continued it as their personal tradition.... I’ve learned that I been missing out on a great escape of pure serenity and the beauty of nature it was sooo relaxing and stress reliving... you have got to go .... my most favorite part was sitting around the camp-fire and telling stories and reminiscing of great times to my family... I was sooo happy to do this with my family especially my daughter being there too !!!! she absolutely adored every moment of it.
Came with a group of girlfriends and we had the best time at this campground. Our reserved campsite was taken by another family but we worked it out with the office. We actually got a better campsite than what we had reserved. All staff members including the maintenance guys were wonderful. Wish the trail heads were marked better but wasn’t disappointed that we didn’t hike. We’ll be back!
My first time camping, I was a little nervous but I absolutely LOVED it and would love to make it a yearly tradition. The only negative thing I have to say is it got very busy over the wknd and the toilets became gross and clogged by Sunday morning. Aside from that it was a beautiful stay, very peaceful and fun. We went rafting for the first time... you have to do it at least once but pack a light lunch and sunblock! Make sure its packed well or it will get soaked. I packed sandwiches in alluminum foil then a sandwich bag and they stayed perfectly dry!
I was very excited to go to this campground and I drove over 2 hours only to find the place closed. I made a reservation online and it never said on the website, google or the check in instructions that the place was going to be closed. I called the 24 Hr help line and I never received a call back. I also emailed them and no reply either. Needless to i never got my money back for the reservation which I paid in full. If you are going to book do not pay in advance!
The Campground was very nice, bathrooms were not kept very clean, but then again you are camping. One of the women at registration was very rude which made for a bad start to the trip as though the pouring down rain wasn’t enough. Camp store was less than desirable, they offered pretty much nothing, boy are they losing money there. As for the activity center, it is unorganized chaos, way over priced, you do not get what you pay for, we paid for all day paintball, did not have a choice on course and we were brought back down the mountain after two hours, the river rafting was supposed to be a 4-5 hour trip and we were back in a 1 1/2. Overall the trip was great as we needed to get away and be around friends/family during COVID. Just felt like I gave away hard earned money for not much return.I would definitely go back again, I would just be more prepared.
This campground does not enforce it’s noise and safety policies. The camp site itself was great, nice campfire pit, picnic bench, little creek running by, and space for lots of parking and 6 tents as well. There’s a bathhouse which is not very clean or sanitary considering the pandemic and infection control recommendations. I would not use the stall showers in a shared space at this time. The big issue was noise All NIGHT! Until 6 am I heard overlapping music from many camp sites in the grounds. Cars honking and revving their engines. Teenagers screaming and yelling all night. I would not recommend coming here with your family. Only good if you’re into partying. Way overpriced for camping with “amenities”.
Kind of one stop shop for camping and other recreational activities BUT very expensive and super rigid with deals and changes. Everything and anything with Kittatinny Campground is business and $. I have been going there for over 10-years and they have never been flexible with their packages. All the packages are designed to suit and serve the owner ro maximize their capital gains. There is nothing for loyal customers here. We keep going back for distance convenience. My friends and i are finally looking for a better and less selfish substitute.
I am very disappointed with Kittatinny, i arrange to stay over a weekend, when i did my reservation over the phone they make you wait for over 2 hrs to sign waivers and get the other half of payment of your stay. In the mean while their staff was allowing people skip the lines. then the rep over the phone told us not to schedule activities on line that the person that gets your waivers will schedule your activities,, (big lie) prepare yourself to do a 2 or more hours to schedule your cannon or paintball activity. this place is very unorganized the owner or manager must teach communication to their staff. We just wanted to have a fun time, but we left disappointed.
Super nice campground, right on the Delaware river. Just be wary that there is no reception for at least 15 miles in either direction of the site, but I guess camping is meant to be an unplugged adventure. We got caught there on a weekend where it poured the whole time and couldn’t get the gps to work so we could find a place to buy tarps. Regardless, the site is super nice and clean, there’s a shop on site with firewood, charcoal and other camping necessities (but no tarps 😅).The only negatives I had were the sites are a little close to each other and check in took 3 hours waiting on line. (We got there at 8 and didn’t get checked in till 11). I did think it was a little pricey because they charge you per night for the site, as well as per person per night. So it does add up.Besides that, it was a fun trip and we did have a good time.
Just dont go unless you like to stand in line 3.5 hrs to check in to the campsite and another 1.5 -2 hours to check in for an activity. The place was jam packed with people, you might as well just be tailgating in a parking lot at a football game. They also were definitely not at 50% capacity. Did not enforce mask wearing or social distancing. When getting on the bus back from the rafting trip they did not enforce the mask rules. Felt completely exposed. Probably the worst run operation I have encountered, ever. If you MUST go, go weekdays only.
My group of 3 drove up on 7/18/2020 and arrived 15 minutes early for our 12pm reservation. We arrived to a complete sh*t show. The place is severely mismanaged. No one there knew what to do when arriving and a lot of people were annoyed. There was no worker to ask if you had a reservation. We waited in line for over an hour to check in and it was another hour to get to the launch site and get our rafts. The workers seem to be doing the best they can but there was just no management of directing people. On top of that, everyone was standing close together and many were not wearing masks. I kept mine on the entire time until we got to the launch site. This place is probably a COVID hot spot. We vowed to never return. See pic of the line...
Could be a great campground. The location is great for playing on the Delaware. Unfortunately there was too much NYC trash up there, and the facilities are long overdue for a makeover. I paid over $200 to camp, and all I heard from 9am-4am was horrible loud music. Management didn’t do anything to remedy the issues. I would not come back here again. Looks like I going further north to avoid the garbage NYC seems to breed.
I wish I didnt have to write this review after coming here as a Family for about 20 years. The employees have no sense of customer service and do NOTHING to enforce the quiet hours and other rules they have in place. If you want to have a block party experience when you are trying to camp this place is for you. In addition the employees only say that they will talk to another site when they threaten you with bodily harm when you ask them to keep their voices down at 5am when youre a regular person trying to sleep. Bathrooms are dirty, COVID regulations not being followed. This place is a nightmare. Only good experience was the rafting. Dont go here if youre looking for a place to enjoy the outdoors with your family with other people that actually know camping etiquette or a campgrounds that wants all of their customers to enjoy their experience. It seems like this place only cares about the bottom line.
Didn’t get to experience the actual rafting so can’t comment on that. But the customer service is terrible. I accidentally booked a reservation, didn’t realize that I hit final confirmation button. Paid a deposit of $73. The only way to cancel is to call them a week before which I did several times. They don’t pick up the phone. When I finally reached them, I spoke to a very rude woman who refused to give me a refund because it’s 6 days before, not 7. She said she can’t do anything, she just works there. I said with this kind of service I will aVoid this place. And she said, you do that.
Arrived at 7pm on a Friday night, didn’t get to the check in window until 10pm, the line was insane. We understand times are weird right now but you guys have to do better than this... For my group and everyone else sitting in that line it completely wasted the remaining day light and we had to set up our campsite in the dark at 10:30pm. You should issue refunds for that Friday night for everyone in that line. Will not be coming back here.
Our particular campground was fine because we were in Minisink. The other campgrounds were horrendous though. Everyone was so close to each other they were breathing down each others necks. Several people told us they were triple booked. Quiet hours were NEVER enforced and people played LOUD music up until 4am. We did the required river trip where they made us make a reservation for NO reason. We asked them when to arrive and they said maybe 20 minutes before. This was horrible advice as it was 90 degrees and there was only one line that was two hours long. No one knew what the line was for and there was no direction by anybody. Everyone was waiting on the same line hoping for some answers. The workers were just comfortable inside their little office without notifying anyone what this long line was for. They didnt separate the line by reservation time or activity so someone who had a later reservation could be waiting in front of you. This place is severely mismanaged and the workers are useless. I would never come back to these campgrounds.
I got hurt and had a massive gash on my finger. I originally wrapped it with makeshift wrap , and asked the campground staff for first aid. Staff was extremely helpful. Joel ended up wrapping my finger. It was a deep gash and I was bleeding pretty bad. He did an amazing job administering first aid. Thanks for going above and beyond.
If you are new to water activities be cautious. The instructions we received for our canoe were not detailed and seemed rushed. There are a lot of rocks and rapid areas in the river which they don’t explain how to handle, they only tell you what to do if you fall out. They have you depart where there are a lot of people swimming, so you have to be careful not to toe into them. There’s a 1-800 number to call if you need help, but there’s no service in that area so I’m not sure how that would work for someone. Our canoe capsized over some rapids and rocks but luckily a Good Samaritan helped us flip it back over and get back in and no one was injured. The river was beautiful, the calm parts are doable. The scenery made up for the fact we capsized.
This is a great place to spend a leisure outdoors day with family or friends. The kayak/canoe route take about four to five hours to complete but the water is relatively calm. Any anxiety that may be experienced by non-swimmer are alleviated with life vest and the knowledge that the water is not deep; most adults can stand up and the water will reach at ones hips.
This was our 9th year in a row camping at this site. Over the years it’s gotten progressively worse with the noise to the point it’s out of control. People now bring DJ equipment and huge speakers and blast music with bass so loud it shakes your tent and this went on until 330/4 in the morning each night we stayed. I wish I was over exaggerating but nothing was done to tell these people to knock it off. I can’t comprehend how some people could be that inconsiderate to the other campers around you but it was multiple sites. If you’re looking for a relaxing peace and quiet trip camping to enjoy nature or look up at the stars at night I highly suggest finding a different camp ground. I seriously wouldn’t bring kids to this place it was at the point it was unbearable and after 9 years coming here it was our last trip here. Don’t risk coming here go somewhere you can actually camp like normal people and not a rave in a club atmosphere. Overall staff is friendly just no rules were enforced and nothing was done to make sure every camper was able to enjoy their stay in peace.
Booked campground online for 10 people, paid 50%. Called to find out info about campground and was told that I did not book it correctly and that there are no spots available. Spoke to supervisor Quin, she was rude and blamed me for booking campground wrong. Just wandering if I booked it wrong, why you took my money? Another person processed refund which I never received. Called two weeks later again to find out that they did not place my refund. Finally received it 3 weeks later. After cancellation, contacted Landers River Trips and had no problems getting a campground and rafting for 10 people.
I was in the area Friday to discuss pricing and times for our group for Sunday. i was never told that i will need reservations for Sunday. there are no signs stating that either. when i arrived Sunday, i waited on line with our group in extreme heat for 45 minutes when i was told that nothing is available............#1 dont you think there should be a sign posted that reservations are advised ?#2 if an adventure is sold out, why not hang a sign in the window notifying guests saving them from waiting on line close to an hour in extreme heat for nothing?
We decided to book the water release trip. Got to the base with all paperwork ready to go 30 min. ahead of time and asked where to go for the reservation. Waited for 40 min in line to be told that I had to go to another cabin/line. We then waited another 20 min there; and another 10 minutes wasted with paperwork. By that time we were not making back to base prior to the cutoff and were told that there is going to be a late fee. The manager offered a different trip, but we specifically came for the white water. So she made a note not to charge a late fee. Waited for a bus. 40 min drive to the location and.... we cannot go on the water because we did not grab the life jackets off the base. This is not our first rafting experience and the life jackets are usually given where you get on to the raft. 40 min ride back to the base. Ruined the whole weekend. Lessons: 1. outrageous wait time under the beaming sun (water, sunblock, inline meditation). 2. Keep asking questions as you will always get a different answer ( enjoy the chase). 3. Ask if you should board the bus with life jackets, oars, rafts, etc. ( keep asking, as you will get a different answer). 4. Use another, a smaller company that cares about its customersP.s. the manager came to see us board the bus. She SAW we have no jackets so did the driver. NO one had an idea to mention that we need life jackets. Kids are crying as I am typing this on the 40 min ride back to the base.
Convenient place to stay. Canoeing, rafting, ziplining and other outdoor activities are provided in the area. Rafting will depend on the amount of rain that the area gets. Friends did go ziplining, the ride is short but they had fun. 3 stars cause of the space for both tent and RV sites were tight. Great to see everyone enjoying themselves but, quiet hours were not enforced. I dont mind talking here and there at 1am, but music. Bathrooms/showers does the job, but needs updating. Make sure you bring your own grill for the fire pit or you can buy one in the camp registration store.Great experience and off to the next adventure...
WOW. Could not be more unhelpful. Cancelled due to their complete disregard of COVID procedures, would not refund us one dime and told us it was our choice to not go and take the risk. Beyond rude staff and total and utter obliviousness to the current pandemic and what that entails for a business to operate safely and responsibly during todays world. When I asked what procedures they would take to make me feel safer at their campsite, she said not sure, but would probably do something. Honestly want to report them to higher governing bodies.
First of all, never been in such a poorly taken care kayak in my life. No foot grips, seats were terrible, it was all beat up and no where to strap in my stuff. Secondly the entire experience was completely disorganized. Made a reservation and still had to wait in line with everyone else for an hour and a half in 93 degree weather. Seriously understaffed and everyone that worked there was in a bad mood, yelling at customers, etc.
Staff members are friendly and helpful, Grounds are pretty clean considering the huge number of people staying. One negative is the tubing, not for young children. We were a group of 19, 4 between 8 and 11. Parents did not enjoy this part of our stay. Water on lazy 2 hour float is extremely rough in spots. I know how to swim and hit a rock which threw me out of my tube and was dragged by the current. A group closer than mine helped me up by letting me hold on till my group got me. Ive never been afraid in the water - till now. We will return, but next time rafts only. We chose to get out of the water shortly after this, not due to me but rain, thunder and lightning. Joe(I believe) was at the side of the road with a van!! I will say that one in our group did not check back in at the end and staff did come to our site to make sure we all made it back!
After hitting the rapids and flipping my kayak we were left stranded for over an hour on the side of the river! Once we were finally able to flag down attention from the cops they were able to get Park service out to save us. Park service told us that kittatinny canoes would not come to help us and said we were on our own!!! After making it to an access point we were left for 45 minutes to wait to be picked up. Overall do not go to kittatinny canoes they will leave you for our stranded on the side of the river without a way to get back and when you do get back to the side you can be picked up on youll be left there for 45 minutes or more!!!
I’m a very easygoing customer and I hate to write bad reviews.About the campground I do not have a lot things to say about it. You get what you pay for. It is OK! Camping sites were clean. I was lucky to be surrounding by families. We did not have any problem with loud noisy or wild parties. My nightmare started when I had to use the Adventure Center. The place was run by employees. The manager was not in the site. For a company that has been in this business for almost 75 years, they should know better that in major holiday such as Labor Day, they should increase the number of workers. Also, the manager should be present. If you decide to use their services, DO NOT PAY IN ADVANCE. I did this huge mistake. I paid for 5 people to go tubing. They could not find my reservation. They found only for 3 people. I had to pay twice for the same service. I just did because my kids were waiting patiently in line with me for more than an hour to go tubing. The worst part, I have never seen a company where you make a payment over the phone or online and they do not give any electronic receipt or send an email as confirmation. I have all my bank statements with the respective charges. I already called the bank and I’m disputing the payment. This place is a joke.
Good camping site with reasonable accommodations.Cannot complain about cleanliness of amenities– during my stay it was well maintained.Gets busy on holiday weekends, so try to book in advance and come early.Recommend to check site map before booking. It is a matter of personal preference if you like to be closer to river or deeper in the woods. Many activities available on the spot.Tried tubing, canoeing, kayaking - satisfied with all experience. If you have any problem upon your stay, don’t hesitate to contact staff – they are polite and helpful.
Kittatiny canoes in Barryville was a life time experience best experience camping ever only inconvenience was with a worker that had no idea what they were talking about when I asked for prices on rafting and gave me a $30 quote when in reality it was $60 per person with the taxes included basically. But besides that camping was great the river water was perfect rafting was so much fun. The camping parking spaces in Luke’s landing are very spacious any where between 901-939 were great really big the ones right by the river how ever I thought would’ve been great but unfortunately to my liking and opinion not enough space and not safe for children who love to wonder around
We stayed for 3 days at Kittatinny Barryville, we had a good time with the family there, but horrible time trying to get our refund, for a river activity we never did..We did the obligatory river activity with the whole family, At the river on May , Monday 25 /2020... but the day before I wanted to do something different with my husband , and I paid for Kayaking 2 people.. In the afternoon after 3:30 pm .unfortunately, I couldn’t do it because it was too late, I had to go back to the camp ground with my kids , so .. We let know the staff At the river, we will not do it.. they took my receipt for the payment and they said , they will let the office know, we didn’t do the kayaking.I tried to call that day to get the refund, by phone , but there where Absolutely NO RECEPTION, not internet, or communication...next day my husband and family went to the office to pay for Rafting which is the group obligatory river activity. My husband ask for the refund of the kayaking activity that we never did the day before, they said for refund, we need to call 1800...We try to call many time and there was no reception at all, throughout the whole time we were there.. After the rafting activity on Monday, we tried to go to the office and it was already close, next day we go back to CT.as soon we where on the route, on our way back home on Tuesday.. we start to call the 1800 phone and they never answered... they finally answer at the office today , and they told me , that they only can do refund if we still in the camp ground ... I try to get a manager on the phone, they said manager is too busy , plus that the first time I called , they put me with 2 different people on the phone, and the second lady, hung up the phone on me. After I called again, the last person on the phone said that they will not give me the refund even tho I didn’t do the kayaking...If you want a refund, be sure to cancel right The way there in the office and ask for your refund ... good luck Doing the waiting line for the office window...The only thing they could do for me is giving me Some credit for next Time visit at kittatinny...no thanksThis is a joke! We Spend more than $2000 This weekend there, and they cannot give me a refund for the kayaking I never did with my husband.Cc
Thankyou for another perfect adventure, this was our 35th annual kayak trip, in the 35 years weve never had a bad trip, the river is What it is you just enjoy it even if its pouring rain its still a blast, the staff was beyond helpful from the sign in staff to the garbage pick up to the nightly rest room cleaning everyone is awesome. Were already planning for next August. Thankyou for another wonderful experience, and a special thanks to Ruth for all the years of fun shes given us all. Thankyou Ruth your the Tops!!!!
Love this place. Our family comes every year however they are very unorganized and under staffed. They wanted us to register everyone at our site upon arriving where and we had to wait almost 4 hours! We had 7 cranky little ones and we were supposed to be enjoying our time. The lines were long with total disregard for covid and social distancing. We should be able to go online to register, pay and and print out needed tickets.
Overall, the experience at Kittatinny Camp was AMAZING! I went with my family and we all had a really great time bonding with each other and enjoying the beautiful nature. The campsite was absolutely beautiful right along side the calm creek. We all went for canoeing on the Delaware River for 12 miles and although it was really tough and tiring, we were able to manage and felt victory at the end. There were some rapids but not a lot and the water wasn’t too deep so it’s pretty safe for kids.At first I was a little doubtful about the campsite bathroom showers but they were actually very well maintained and impressed me.I definitely recommend going to this camp and I can’t wait to go there again!
Unfortunately, I will not be returning to this campground. I had visited many times in the past, but this latest visit was a disappointment. The bathrooms were a mess. Often toilets backed up, showers that make you not want to shower. The main issue however, was the fact that they allow guests to BLAST (and seriously, BLAST) music all day long.... Sure, I like music too, but if I have to shout to a campmate thats 10 feet from me, thats ridiculous. And yes, they were aware, the campground vans drove past us every few minutes, so there was no way they couldnt hear the constant noise. One goes to camp to grill, catch up with friends, enjoy nature.... not to be in the middle of what sounds like Grand Central Station. Seriously not sure what this campground is thinking. Customer service was nonexistent with the exception of a young girl named Caitlyn. If you want some quiet and friendly hosts, definitely go somewhere else.
Would be a nice camp ground but some areas are very crowded and it’s not the place to go if you want to enjoy peace and quiet. Music blasting all day and all night. Quiet hours are not followed or enforced. We heard music blasting from the entire place with people up and yelling past 3 am. Also the music and noise starts up again as early as 8am. If you want to be loud and stay up all night this is the place for you.
We book this place every 4th of July for a party of 10 and spend $600 for our camp grounds. This year had a family emergency 2 days prior and asked if we can get a refund or at least a credit. Worker couldnt even call us back. For all the money we spend every year they could at least have the manager call us back!!! We were asking if any type of refund or credit since we always come. NOT one call back. So disappointed that they have young kids running this place. Going to another camp ground and boating next yr. Lost our business
Been camping for many years and unfortunately this campground for myself and family was the worst. Campsites are on top of eachother I am surprised they dont count your car as an extra guest! Close to zero cell service unless you are near the entrance. The bathrooms near the 200 sites were appalling and were beyond filthy. No toilet paper 90 percent of the time. Try to avoid these showers at all costs. Worth traveling up the site. Completely understaffed. Nothing in the general store. Must travel outside of the campground for any surprise supplies. Upon check in it is voiced about the inforced noise and leashed pet rules. A joke! Campers are up at all hours blasting music and complaints go unheard. A wonderful place for any owner to just let their pets roam from site to site despite the strictly enforced rules. Also if you are interested in the tubing or kayaking be prepared to wait close to an hour for a bus to get you. Recommend staying somewhere else.
Great experience at this campground. This has been my second year staying here with my family over the fourth of July weekend.Minus one star for being charged a weekend price on a weekday by one of the girls working at the booking counter. This was on July 3rd, a Monday. She then told us she couldnt refund us the money and that there was nothing she could do, EVEN THOUGH SHE WAS IN THE WRONG.
Not great for RVs. $45/night for a shared 20 amp hookup. Site not level. Bathrooms not cleaned on weekends when they are at the busiest and dirtiest. People up and about, playing music, talking loudly, walking through our campsite after midnight. Despite the no parking signs, everyone drove to the bathroom (near our site), parked and idled their cars while they used the bathroom, so we had constant car traffic, engine noise, and exhaust fumes.
If you are looking for a weekend get away that is low risk for being exposed to COVID, avoid this place. The check in process Friday night involved everyone in the camp forming a single file line and huddling around a window to sign forms that should have been available online. It also took nearly three hours.Tubing the next day had the same issue. They made people to stand in line without social distance to complete a form that should have been available online. No encouragement to wear masks while forcing people into close quarters. In this environment, I would not recommend in this place unless there is significant change to their registration processes. It seems like it should all be available online prior to arrival.
We stayed over the weekend close to the river with my wife and son. The place was packed very close to other campers and not much space its like a parking lot. At night there was loud music playing in different areas and drunk or high campers howling at 2am in the morning in another! Its not for families really. So take them somewhere else for a decent sleep.During the day was nice and peaceful though. We could actually enjoy the natural surrounding.
Absolutely love it. get together every summer with my old college roommates and have a GREAT time camping and rafting at Kittatinny. One negative thing is that the offices are pretty much run by teenagers, and can sometimes be very crowded and disorganized. I do not recommend going on Memorial, Labor day or July 4th weekend, or making a reservation in advance. I go every year with a group of up to 12 people, and we do not reserve our river trip in advance... just show up EARLY the day of your trip :)
I have been doing all sorts of camping--rustic, resort, and anything in between for as far as I can remember, and I have to say that in all my years on this Earth I have not had a worse camping vacation.By far, this was the worst trip I had ever had. But why? You may ask. I will tell you, and I wont spare any terrible, horrible, awful detail Ive had. Maybe some. There are so many.First and foremost, the staff was awful. Check-in was tedious and had us leave our car at the front while we walked to the office to get wristbands. Why couldnt they just give us wristbands at the front? Whatever.Staff was rude. Every individual staff member working there had some sort of attitude. The guy doing paintball made us wait an extra hour and a half while he filled the paintball guns with air. In the blazing heat. In full-body jumpsuits.Besides that, he actually told us that he didnt want to act as a referee because he didnt like getting shot at by accident. And then he laughed and said, Ive only played paintball once, when I was eleven! I dont even know how to play! He didnt know the first thing about safety or fairness in a game. Whenever you accuse someone of blatantly cheating, hed shout out from on top of his rock(Where he sat, safely not involved in the game in any way) that YOU were cheating instead. The guy at the tubes center gave my sister attitude when she showed him her receipt, saying I dont need it, just throw it out!His manager proceeded to ask us for our already discarded receipt. The woman at the activity desk charged us a 115% New York Sales Tax(Normally being 8%) in order to slip about twelve dollars of hidden fees per head to rent inflatable tubes for two hours. Thats a hidden fee. Thats illegal. All in all, Kittatinny was a waste of a weekend. If you really love paintball, rafting, and tubing, visit the Delaware River, but go somewhere else. They dont own the river, and good for that.
Disgusting. Raw sewage on our site. Smelly. They put our group on a site that had raw sewage leaking into a giant puddle in the middle of our site. It got some of our tents and gear. We had several kids with us. We complained and rather than letting us move across the street into two other empty sites (that were not reserved for anyone else) they told us to move to the volleyball area with no water and electric. The staff was not sympathetic nor were they exercising common sense. We had to pack up our camp after one night and move 10 or 12 tents to another site and set up camp again. Sucked. Bathrooms not so clean either. If you are considering camping here, go elsewhere. Also, cops were called and they had to kick out some other campers who were loud and drunk, so other similar reviews of that sort are accurate. Zero stars. Had to give it one star to get the Publish button to light.
Great camping site however there were a lot of visitors over the weekend (first weekend in July) . If you want some place secluded you might want to try else where. There are plenty of tables around for you to use however I would have liked additional fire pits. I would highly recommend the lazy water tubing for a relaxing time. Zip lining I would not recommend...not much bang for the buck. Overall experience is great.P.S. dont expect any phone reception or data up here. There is WiFi at the main office however its shoddy at best
Worst camping experience ever!!!! Save yourself the trouble and dont go. The campsite itself is beautiful if youre staying in the 400s or higher. The lower sites are cramped and packed in like sardines. I have been told by the staff and experienced first hand that these campgrounds are pretty much the biggest party place ever. Loudest music I have ever heard being blasted, drunk belligerent people running and screaming with no respect for anyone. Security is one staff member in a truck just asking them to quiet down, which of course does nothing. Eventually, when it has gone on for hours the state police are called to kick them out. The manager herself informed us that the campground is a big party place so if you have a family, avoid this place like the plague. You will regret going!! I wont be surprised to hear that the police shut this place down over the next year or so, or even worse something seriously bad happens. Its that bad!! Do yourself a favor and stay anywhere but here. Find a nice field on the side of the road and stay there. If I could give 0 stars I would.
Great place to raft, camp with kids, fish, and even swim in the river when the currents are not as strong as other days. Over all, this is a place you take your family for years with a added benefit of its affiliated properties in New Jersey as well. A home away from home is all I requested and they delivered upon arrival.
Had the most wonderful time at kittattiny campground with my group Jo and the camping co this weekend. We went tubing down the Delaware with kittattiny canoes and the staff was amazing and helpful. Shoutout to the bus driver who made the experience so much fun with her infectious laugh even in the intense heat 🙌🏻. 10/10 would recommend to a friend.
One of the best campgrounds I’ve ever visited. Very friendly staff, guests are not too close to each other on the site. My phone was out of service in there but you have an access to wifi in the main office. There’s a few stores and gas station about a mile away. Can’t wait to get back soon!
Excellent campsites. Very clean. Lots of fun activities for the entire family at reasonable price. Just remember when you go camping, it to enjoy nature and spend quality time together. So yes there is No cell phone service. But trust me you will not need it, because you will be doing fun stuff all day long.
This place is terrible on the weekends. I will never camp here again unless it is during the week. If youre from the ghetto just trying to get out and see some trees and a river, this might be just the place for you. Plenty of other campers playing music loudly until at least midnight. Bathrooms are terrible, I didnt even try to shower. Dinnertime and there was no fire ring. Long story short, the conditions I experienced here for the one night I stayed did not feel very different than the 21 months I had to do in prison, except I was outside in a tent.
This place is horrible. My boyfriend and I went over Labor Weekend and it was just a mess. They campsites are practically on top of one another. Drunk people stumbled into our site and used the restroom right near out tent. It is not regulated at all. 11pm is stated as the start of quiet time, yet other campers were playing loud radios all around us until the a.m. hours. There was no peace. Showers and bathrooms are gross. I do not recommend this place.
Kittatinny does nothing about campers who show up and act like complete jerks. The first night we listened to two sites above us party all night and play loud music. The next night on the river campers showed up and blasted music until midnight with a deafening sound system. What should have a been a nice night listening to the river and the peepers was ruined.During the day 17 drunken people from New Jersey left the river in their tubes instead of going to the actual landing area 200 feet down the river; right through our campsite. WTH? Of course, as drunken people, do they wanted to stop and chat about our dog and their dogs. And leave their empties in our garbage can.Just checking in was an ordeal. We waited in a long for about an hour. The bathrooms in the gray house had no toilet paper. The porta johns are...I will spare you the details. It’s like no one works at Kittatinny. The cops did roll through twice. I mean, I can see why.Seriously, even though we had a nice day rafting we will never return.I heard there is a nicer place up the river that doesn’t allow rowdiness. Save yourself a trip. This place is like a drunken hybrid between Jersey Shore and Coney Island.
As soon as you google rafting, you get a barrage of KC ads. Fine. They spend all that money and you literally cant make a reservation or get information from them. The website says please call. You call, and you either leave a message that goes unreturned or your just on an endless hold. After 24 hours of trying to make a reservation, we called Reber River Trips, a person picked up the phone, and we were done.
Beautiful property ruined by rude and loud visitors playing music all night louder than a night club (Speakers on tripods) absolutely no respect for campers following the rules.I had been going here for over 20 years and I have almost been thrown out of this place for having a 1 speaker 2 battery radio at a whisper barely heard from ten feet away and yet my vacation was ruined by ridiculously loud music and employees not doing their job. The employees will do nothing, not even give you your money back.Since I lost my money I may as well warn others that are looking to camp and enjoy nature to go somewhere else.
26 years on and off coming here, I love it off season. During the season its a mad house with such noise pollution and a cheap getaway for big partiers...that you feel sickened if you truly love being in nature. But this time it was below average when the noisy ones was the camp itself. I understand landscaping has to show up, I understand chainsaws have to be used to avoid danger in the future...took me a while but I got it! BUT when its a leaf blower the first day of autumn and the noise has you feeling like nails on chalkboard...holy hell. Im around heavy machinery at work..nature is nature and when I pay extra to camp along the babbling brook and I cant hear it..thats effing nuts. Yea I threw some F bombs..at no one..just threw them. I went during the week on the off season but they didnt care that I was a paying customer also..they were getting ready for their BIG weekend customers. The one employee yelled that because of ME they missed out on 4 hours of work..so for 5 1/2 hours I had to sit there and listen to that? There were a couple nice employees but they were powerless to do anything, the only suggestion was to move for the time being to another spot, wait what?!! The one day I want to stay put in the site I paid for in nature I have to abandon it? Not cool. Ive been reading some negative reviews for years and it makes me sad. Have a system and tell people so they have a choice to maybe go do something that day. I was exhausted and had two high energy dogs with me and that was my down day. ALSO to camp near the water is extra..and you have to book an activity along with it..have my girls I couldnt do anything so I donated the $35. tubing..which I hope they gave to someone like I asked..damn now Im getting pissed again. Im rating this below average. The employee shouldnt have taken it personal and seen it as a paying customers side...and not started a shouting match. The manager should have more control. Ill give it one more try..hope I dont have to burn the bridge and look somewhere else. This should be 2.5 stars..Im not giving it three for the stress it caused.
Zip line was the only good activity in this place eventhough it was little bit on pricey side. Im giving it one star because theres literally nothing good about this place besides that. our group went for river rafting, and it was the worst experience ever as the water was stagnant and dirty most of our rafting trip. We found ourselves rowing so much that by the end of our rafting trip everyones hands had blisters. Camp site is filled with noise nuisance. Restrooms are dirty. Lets just say it wasnt really worth it for the time and money spent. I would avoid this place if I knew all this before hand.
Staff was disrespectful and downright mean. Adventure Center requires reservations, so you cant do anything spontaneously without being hit with fees. Staff will make you wait for an hour or more for events, even those you have reserved. Bathrooms are poorly maintained. Paintball course is actually just a hiking trail and staff will not referee. There is no cellphone service and the only wifi is by the store.
Dont trust what their employees tell you. Like some other reviews have mentioned, this organization is not as open and truthful as they may seem. When I booked the campsite, the woman on the phone told me if I cancelled with less than seven days notice, Id be refunded everything except my deposit.Im on a bike trip. I ran into major issues and had to reroute to deal with bike repairs. When I called to cancel and tell them this, suddenly I cant get any refund at all.I understand that they have policies on their wevsite, but their own employee told me this info. I made the mistake of taking her at her word.So dont trust anything they say. Get everything in writing. I dont know if this employee was lying to me about a refund when I booked or if she just doesnt know their policies, either way, it doesnt reflect well on this organization at all. Not worth it I my opinion. Take your family somewhere thatll actually stand by what their employees tell their customers.
If possible I would give 0 stars!! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE!! I called to book a reservation and before I decided on the MANDATORY activity my credit card was charged and 1 minute after she told me, I asked to please cancel the charge, as the activity wasnt acceptable for us. She refused. Said my card was already charged and I have to wait 7 - 10 days to receive my money back. 1 minute and Miriam told me she is the manager and cannot cancel any transaction. Very unprofessional, very rude! Do NOT give your credit card info until you are aware of all charges....as I was not!! Miriam also gave me the names (first and last) of all the people in the sites around me for the weekend I was going to rent. Sites 1002, 1003 and 1004. And the activities each group were doing that weekend!
Left us stranded on the side of the river for three hours after we had raft issues. They said they were on our way to get us each time we called over those three hours. Eventually relied on the kindness of strangers to get us back to our cars. HORRIBLE customer service afterwards-- refused to admit any wrong-doing and did not offer a refund or discount. Truly incompetent people who do not care about their customers. Would give 0 stars if I could.
Stay way!! The campsites are not well kept and the bathrooms are disgusting! Never any paper, always dirty and the water smells like manure. My son was gagging while we showered. Will never go again! The canoeing was nice and organized but the bathroom issues really turned me off.
I never write reviews, but for this place, I had to literally find it, make an account just to write how horrendous this place is. Its completely understandable how a business such as these are unable to pick and choose which campers can stay. However, when there are complaints and when there are issues- DEAL WITH IT PROFESSIONALLY. Took off work, got my entire family ready to spend a great night near the water! Even spent extra money to do choosing a prime area! What happens? Get there to find what looks like a training camp. Fine - everyone wants to spend time outdoors with family and friends like us. However, is it necessary to be arms length to strangers? Anyways, so we stayed on lot 1011. Our neighbors literally took up one and a half spots and wouldnt move. Ok, so we head back to the main office (second time there because the map was drawn by a 5 year old) and needed someone to help settle this dispute since we have the right to camp on the site we paid for! She said ok, sends a security guard there, he drives in a car to our site and doesnt even stop and drive back down. Was I about to chase him? No. So I had to drive back to the main office, realized its useless to argue and switch sites. We picked the next best option which was a spot next to a road. FAIL. Worst/slow customer service, dirty facilities, terrible campgrounds -- Seriously, if you want to come here for some unGodly reason, its definitely a risk. Ive said my peace as a warnings from, hopefully it was helpful.
Staff are generally friendly and accommodating.Restrooms and Shower Rooms are relatively well cleaned but the water coming out of the shower was dirty and excruciatingly hard to set on warm temperature (one has to hold a handle for as long as warm water is needed, as not even this always works...)I was there with my wife in Labour day weekend and a lot of noisy folks made the experience unpleasant (loud music, generators running (!), etc...)
I recently stayed with a few friends and paid by credit card. After checking out, they charged me an additional $100 for misc. charge with no description. I have emailed and called Kittatinny 10 times with no response or follow up. I feel like are trying to scam me and this is very bad business. Do not go here, unless you want to be scammed.
So the location is conveniently located 2 hours away from where I live in NY.Cons: Absolutely No Service (and our group had ALL different carriers and said the same thing)-We got there a day after our group did, and they had ALOT of complaints in reference to their neighbors BUT management spoke to the neighbors and from what I seen when I got there, it made a difference. The complaint was the neighbors not respecting the space we were renting and being ridiculous w the volume of music until 5:00 am... Its a camping ground not a club/lounge/bar.Of course music is ALWAYS welcomed and nice, but sheesh. Im glad I wasnt there to experience it.They have a lake, where you can swim in w life vest (that the camp loans to you for free)You can canoe and kayak (the view is lovely by the way) in lake for extra cost.In our campsite, we had water but no electricity BUT other parts of the camping site, had electricity and of course, going further into the mountain, you wont get either water or electricity for the REAL campers. Also, in check-in has a mini store inside - so if you want cold-cuts, GOOD coffee, ice, some travel size items (soap/lotion/etc...) you can actually purchase there. Which is great if you forgot to bring something or ran out something. The camping site did have portable pottys every few feet and were cleaned out every AM. They had regular bathrooms, outside private showers and inside showers as well.Interestingly enough, they had some washing machines and dryers (never seen that in a camping site) but definitely a PRO if youre staying for long time. And also a plus if you bring one towel, but want to jump into the lake and dont have an extra towel to shower with. Or if you leave your towel outside attempting to dry and in the AM, no matter the weather, its always wet due to condensation. They have zip-lining, which I wasnt there enough time to enjoy but looks like so much fun.I would not mind coming here again.
Disappointing in so many ways! Terrible, terrible customer service. It took us over an hour to get checked in (there were TWO people in line in front of us). At the launch deck, we were told we could only go one at a time (they advertise DUAL RACING ZIPLINES, everywhere!) because they only had one guy on the receiving end of the line. The rest of the staff was helping a group of 14 below us. I told the guy that wasnt right, that we paid just as much as the group per person, and this was part of what we were looking for. His exact words were Yeah..well... I also complained about this in the office, and was told they were having staffing issues. I told her I understood this, but it wasnt right to charge someone full price for something advertised and then not deliver. We had already booked our rafting trip afterwards, so we made our way across the street as we were told, and when we arrived, no one was there to greet us. We actually had to look around until we found a walkie-talkie sitting around and we proceeded to call someone down there ourselves! When the employee finally arrived, she was rude also...Then, when our trip was done, there was no one to pick us up at the end location! We had to walk around until we got cell service and we called someone using the number on the back of our life jackets! I understand uncontrollable issues can arrive with staffing, computers, etc etc...but the sheer lack of concern in making things right..or even apologizing for our terrible service made for a really irritating trip. All 5 of us were flabbergasted at how we were shrugged off after spending so much money and getting the service we did. I will also be contacting their home office. Completely unacceptable.
We went in zip lining here and were very disappointed. It cost about $125 to go down one line, once. Definitely do not go to this place for zipline. We also had a chance to check out the camp grounds and they were really crowded, and loud. we were glad we didnt camp here.
Just spent the entire 4th of july weekend, words cannot describe the experience. Kittatinny had sites for any type of group. All kinds of activities to choose from as well. Prices are a little high but well worth it.. It also depends on holidays, weekends or regular days, etc..me and my group(15) had a blast, super convenient to grab supplies at the camp store, phone service is none existent but they do provide a LAN line in the office for phone calls.Check out all the great pics taken.
So far, this is my favorite place. (Camped in new paltz, pine barrens, riverhead, poconos, etc) Love the fact that we can camp right next to the creek. Excellent service, grounds are good (little on the rocky side), well wooded (tho but not enough!), personal water supply, very scenic, and comfortable. The only reason Im not giving this place 4/4 for quality is because the sites are too close to each other. Theres no privacy among each campers/site. (Pine barrens was the best for that) Im guessing during the summer this place gets really busy, but more people more chatter. :/ will be camping here a lot more during the off seasons, summer will be too crowded!Word of advice, when reserving go for the 400+ campgrounds, well worth it.(Camped 10/2013)
The campsite was very relaxing.I went cannoning it’s a great experience however I think they should be more life guards on patrol for people that’s new to this experience and can’t swim.I was very disappointed to see that only few staff wore masks and they should be little more helpful when campers are getting off the rides upon returning to shore.
I’m am very dissatisfied with my experience at this campground. I recently stayed one night with a few friends. We all paid together on one credit card right when we checked in. The day after, we looked on the credit card statement to find that they had charged us $100 for an unassigned misc charge. We had left the site cleaner than we found it so it was not for cleanup. I feel as if they tried to over charge us to see if we wouldn’t notice.
BEGINNER KAYAKERS BEWARE ROCKS!This one star review is for the advertised beginners kayaking from Matamoras to River Beach. We got caught in rapids and rocks about 4 times during the trip after following the directions given to us at the beginning. We were told this was a calm part of the Delaware. Pure baloney! NEVER COMING BACK FOR KAYAKING.
Everybody was super friendly and super helpful we had a great time going down the river in the tubes let me look forward to coming back I especially want to come back and try out their paintball thank you Joel for getting us up the river safely and giving us a guided tour as we went it was very cool learning some of the history of the area and we appreciate it thank you for checking to make sure we were all safe and ready to go
Good site. Very scenic. Only thing that didnt work was cell phones. Sote said eletric. Didnt work though. No coverge. Metro PCS. Tubing was great, minus the age restrictions. Our site was right on the creek. It was a little to rough for fishing though. Cant wait to come back.
Horrible place ,they made mistakes on our reservations and separated us from our family. This place had no pool even though it said it did. Very noisy all night long no quiet hrs. Apparently. Staff had no idea of anything ,one would send u to the wrong place another would say that staff didnt know and send u to another wrong place in the csmpground.Wont be going back ever.
4 stars reason is because they dont charge for kids 2.they are not strict.3.friendly staff and campers.4everything was perfect no Wi-Fi which is exelent most places provide Wi-Fi this place does not I actually like that .away from everything :) ...I would had came here again and again and again if there was a pool ..unfortunatly there os no pool this is why you get 4 stars
WENT RAFTING WITH THIS COMPANY ON AUG. 8TH KID AT THE SPOT WAS VERY NICE BUT HAD NO IDEA OF THE PRICE FOR TWO ADULTS IN A RAFT. PRICE TURNED OUT TO BE APPROX. $92.00. WE RETURNED AUG. 16 WITH OUR 2 YOUNG GRANDSONS (4/6 YRS. OLD) NOW THE PRICE WAS APPROX. $110.00 MORE. THE VERY RUDE GIRL COULD NOT EXPLAIN WHY, WHAT THE PRICE PER PERSON WAS, BUT WORSE YET COULD NOT HAVE GIVEN A CRAP WHETHER WE STAYED OR LEFT. FEEL SORRY FOR THE OWNER HE HAS LOST OUR BUSINESS AND ALL OUR FRIENDS AS WELL. HINT: GO TO REBER RAFTING AND GET A FAMILY WHO CARES!!
As many other people have said cramped camping sites filthy bathrooms loud music till the wee hours long waiting to check in not for families with children too many people drinking and playing the fool with no control buy the owners if you want to drink party all night and listen to loud music this is the place for you

2022-06-24This would be our second time visiting. We stayed at a different spot than we did last time but both times were fantastic! The camp spots are definitely matained well and i love that the store has everything you may need. I also love that you have zero service, and if needed the store has wifi. This time we brought our dog and he lived it as well. Definitely highly recommend. Also their is a little town woth a supermarket just 5ish minutes away. Love it. Cant wait to go next year.

2021-07-27I have been to many campgrounds and this is by far my favorite. I also been coming here since I was 6!This is the perfect place to unplug and enjoy family time, surrounded by nature. We love riding our bikes, rafting (amazing views) paintball is always a great time. They completely remodeled the playground which is a huge plus for the children. We had one minor issue with our campsite. I was under the impression our campsite that we regularly book was one site only, (party site) it used to be two campsites sites (before hurricane sandy) for some reason they must have turned it back into two sites. In my opinion it is not large enough for two sites as the second site is on a sloped hill with no parking spot. On our last night a very rude couple approached us angry & frustrated demanding we move our things over as they had made a reservation for the site next to us, I apologized to the couple and told them that this must be a misunderstanding as I thought this was one site (never had this problem even on busy holidays) The couple continued to be very disrespectful to us, they had no regard that kids were present. Have they approached us differently we would have been happy to share the site with them, being that they made my family and I really uncomfortable I kindly asked them to please confirm with front desk before we have to move our belongings. They returned 10min later with two front desk girls who were very patient and being very respectful and kind to them even with the couple yelling and being so mean to the girls. The staff immediately accommodated all of us thankfully. I really never had any other issues here people are normally humble. I can imagine you would have to be fairly disrespectful, or loud in order to have a problem. It’s also worth mentioning that this was my sister-in-laws first time camping with us she was so nervous (based off negative reviews) and even with this minor issue she cant wait to come back she loved that the security/staff drove around periodically to see if all is well. I feel like people create their own negative experiences and then blame it on the staff.

2021-06-06Place was actually beautiful. Water and electric worked great. Grounds were clean. But the bathhouses were extremely dirty and the showers didn’t feel nice at all.Value for the price you pay here is just not there. I’ve been to many places that are half the cost that are actually nicer.Upside is that they had 24 hour security on premises the second time I was there.

2021-09-07I loved our site but sadly I cannot decide if it was just the weekend being a holiday or this place was sorely understaffed. They do not enforce any of their rules and it was a stressful mess.People walking through our site all hours standing at my fire pit, activities closed, loud music, dirty bathrooms and just not much for kids to do aside from playground. We went to Zipline or paintball but it was closed due to staff shortage. The rafting was open but we couldnt do that.It did have a decent hiking trail.I email my complaints but no response.Too much money for everything being closed and chaos.

2021-07-06My family and I have been coming to Kittatinny K-Camp for 15 years. It was our favorite tradition each summer. I don’t usually write reviews, but felt the need to warn future campers. Unfortunately, this year will be our last year because of how we were treated by the majority of the people who work for them. The staff used to be wonderful, but many out of the new group of people working there are disrespectful and have a lack knowledge of the campground and the new system they’re using. I tried to cancel 2 of our group of campsites and was told it would be without fees (except a $25 one which I accepted). There was a $150 “cancellation fee” and $120 “extra people” fee even though we were well below the limit of people those campsites allow. The campsite itself only cost $30 more than these fees they tried to charge me. Nobody could clearly explain the charges when I called back after seeing them added on. There were many phone calls and messages back and forth about the extra fees. The “manager” I had spoken with through their 800 number had no knowledge of the fees and system being used (I could hear him asking other workers when I questioned him about the new fees). He was also extremely disrespectful to me when I said we were going to have to look for a new campground next year because of how dismissive they are to our needs and questions. Luckily, the new corporate company they’re owned under was able to take care of the fees that I was being charged just three days before our arrival, though it took numerous calls and messages to get anyone to take care of it. Upon arrival, we were greeted with not enough garbage bags or wristbands for the amount of people and campsites we booked (an honest mistake, just frustrating that we had to take care of it). Throughout the weekend, the bathrooms became increasingly disgusting and were clearly unkempt, with feces on the tops of seats, urine on the floor, as well as no toilet paper to be found in any stall for at least 2/3 of our stay. The men’s room was apparently not much better. Our favorite part about going to Kittatinny is the fun rafting experience we have. This did not disappoint, however, the manager at the raft drop-off point- Pond Eddy spoke to his workers with such disrespect. They were doing a wonderful job, so it seemed he just had a chip on his shoulder in his position. Overall, my family and I are so very disappointed with the changes at Kittatinny as well as the way we were treated and will be looking into new places to find the great, fun, wholesome experience we USED to get from Kittatinny in past years.

2021-08-18In a long time I have camped in so many places in the state of New York, but this camp was the worst in all respects among them the following: the place is old and they do not fix it, the cleaning of their bathrooms and showers is horrible, little staff of cleaning, security at night does not exist and if there is they do nothing to ensure that the rules are respected, most of their visitors do not respect order and especially at night since there is loud music everywhere and nobody respects the neighbor on a par, the activities it offers you have little space and therefore nothing can be done with them; So the paper they give you of the regulation does not use it otherwise there would be order in this camp. I could continue with more of my experience of this place but really think twice to visit otherwise you will have a bad camp with your family

2021-08-06I loved our camping spot. It was right by the creak which was peaceful to look at during the day. It was also peaceful to listen to at night. I enjoyed my stay at this campground. The only issues we encountered was that the campers next to our campsite over extended onto our campground but that was fixed immediately after we let the park rangers know. The bathrooms were also very disgusting but that is due to it having been the 4th of July weekend and it was super packed.

2021-07-31Bathrooms were really dirty. We had a lot of trouble trying to find the correct spot with the number the zip line was closed. Some of the people dont obey the rules and play loud music past 11. Wasnt really a fun camping. The staff members werent really doing what they were supposed to.. Would rather visit Cook Forest in PA again instead of this campsite.

2021-07-20My kids loved the venue and experience. They got to experience the outdoors. They have an insightful welcoming committee at the entrance. Devices were put away as they had plenty of open space to run. We shall be back next year.
