Beautiful venue that offers a variety of different events from concerts, to shows and even dinner provided by Oliver’s restaurant in the lower level of the building. Building is also Handicapable accessible
Absolutely marvelous, Herbie Hancock concert was incredible, very beautiful building design for optimum sound enjoyment ,,not a bad seat in the house 👍 Herbie Hancock is amazing a living legend and a beautiful human being,82 years old , his band featuring Tarrence Blanchard on Trumpet was incredible too, my daughter and i truly enjoyed the concert, well done! thank you Kleinhans Music Hall🙏
I hadnt been to Kleinhans in many years;however, I had the opportunity to see a performance by Kenny G which was utterly fantastic. Kleinhans is a beautiful building with spacious, nice interior. It is also in a beautiful area of Buffalo with not only the houses nice, but much of the landscaping is absolutely gorgeous. Everything at Kleinhans this night was clean and well organized. Dave Bromberg Quintet/ Mary Seton Room.some blues and American folk music;fiddle player is awesome. Always enjoy hearing the acoustically perfect sounds from Kleinhans.
I went to see the Kenny G concert. I had a really good time with friends. Clean and courteous staff. I would love to come again some time in the future.
This place has some the best acoustics of any theater Ive ever been to. Love the Star Wars concerts and what they do for the community.
The only bad experience we parking. The lots were all full and being handicapped it was impossible finding street parking.The recital was well planned and great seating.
I was there for Bryant and Stratton college graduation. It was very organized. I havent been there in many years it a beautiful building.
Kleinhans is always a great experience. Sight lines are great and plenty of legroom for tall people. Starting to show its age a bit and parking can be a pain.
Designed by Saarinen Father and Son, cozy space. The facade composition in bricks reminds a typical Scandinavian modernism combined with vast plain temperament of north New York State.
Nice place for concerts and graduation events. Sitting is very good and you can see the stage from where ever your sitting
I saw jazz master Hebie Hancock! A great show but he should have played an encore.
Beautiful music/concert hall. Unique architecture & history. Beautiful grounds. Amazing acoustics inside mod interior. Parking lot is small & cost $ but street parking is free.
This is a beautiful theater, we attended the BPO Pops concert. Outstanding performance by the orchestra! Brought me to tears several times. Truly moving. The conductor was so enthusiastic, engaged with the audience, and made the show so special! Only *minor* advice would be to allow any additional dance/singing groups more time to practice with full orchestra on more occasions so the blend of these groups is more seamless. Still - wonderful performance - sparkly outfits - would highly recommend.

Absolutely beautiful. Everything was easy to find and navigate, but if you had questions the staff was happy to answer them.
This has everything to do with their ticket purchasing policies. If there is a show coming to Kleinhans they will sell tickets for one price. For example my tickets were 77 per seat. However once that show fully sells out they added an additional show and my exact same seats were half the price for the second show. That’s absolutely ridiculous

Its great to see the BPO at Kleinhans. They have some events that are more than just classical music, like David Bowie rock - philharmonic concerts and tango concerts.
There is not a bad seat in the house. Friendly volunteers. Superb orchestra. Clean bathrooms.
This historic building is truly incredible... the architecture, the impressive shapes, curves and reflecting pool exterior, the very classy interior--somewhere between art deco and mid-century modern--and of course the impeccable acoustics. Any sound or music in this concert hall is amazing. Not only is the main hall beautiful and incredible, the Mary Seaton room and other areas of the building are phenomenal as well. Dont miss any opportunity you may have to go to an event here, or better yet, find a reason to go.
The staff was so kind and accommodating. I visited with my students from school 74 last Wednesday November 6,2019. Usually we are seated on the main floor,however this time was different and to my dismay I have severe arthritis in my knees and I was informed that our class this time would have to sit in the balcony! I asked sadly if there were elevators to get to the balcony and I was informed there was not. However what happened next really captured my heart the host of the event offered to seat me on the main floor where I would not have to climb the 20 stairs. As a Teacher Assistant it is important that I stay with my students at all times so I turned the offer down. He really went out his way to be of help to me and informed me that next year if we should come again these accommodations would be in place before our arrival. I just feel this was worth mentioning the KINDNESS of others!!! Kleinhans Music Hall Staff 🎸 ROCKS!!!! THANK YOU FOR GOING THE EXTRA MILE.
Performance was great but it started late bc of the terrible parking situation and half the audience was probably still trying to find parking we showed up 40 min before the start time and were turned around bc all the lots were full we got lucky and someone was leaving a spot on the road
Great music be sure to make extra time for parking. They do have paid lots there cash only was 8 dollars when I went.

Good and bad. My uncle played the music for Bryant and Stratton Graduation ceremony.Our key to the apartment got left under a program. Unfortunately we needed them that night after lockup. We had to wait to get those keys until a later date.Maybe there can be an emergency key service. There were about 5 or more sets of keys or fobs. I wonder how they got home.
Still one of the best concert venues ever ... Cant beat the acoustics ... Here there is no such thing as a bad seat

Went for the first time to see Jim Jeffries. Bought 3 tickets so about $300, come to find out they want another $10 for parking. People are spending hundreds and you can’t throw in free parking? Pretty greedy if you ask me.

It’s the comfortable fur coat your grandma left you, but musical.
The promoter did a poor job the show started at 7:00 pm. and the artist didnt come on until 9:00 pm and they were singing on a track like it was a soul train show dont like those type of shows I want to hear the band give the drummer song and one of the artists didnt show up understandable since it was maybe under $1,500 people in the audience

Feels like the same Kleinhans that I played in as a member of the Buffalo All-High Orchestra some 45 years ago.The Buffalo Philharmonic was excellent as they played Whitney Houston music behind Amanda Cole who was also excellent

Great place. Absolutely no drinks allowed inside (not even water). Made for a very dry mouth under a mask at a 2hr show.
Can some explain why guests are required to show proof of vaccine BUT your workers do not have to be vaccinated??Isnt this controversial to your doing your part to stop of spread of this horrific illness?? Is the health department aware of your practices?
Very organized just a beautiful place to visit I will fully admit it does get a little warm in there with all those people but thats probably usual for all places like this considering how old it is.
Todays performance was stupendous. Were so fortunate to have the orchestra and conductor of such quality.
Dinner was phenomenal. Filet was better than russels steak house .
Excellent venue, great performance. Parking is $10 and somewhat cramped, but if you arrive early street parking is available.Always a pleasure attending performances in this venue.

Beautiful concert hall, home of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra. Parking can be hard to find....get there early or be prepared to walk a while once you park on a side street. Be prepared for Buffalo weather!

I bought a 3 concert series for my wife and I at Christmas. A great escape from the hustle and bustle of life. You can hear and watch the orchestra and guests, or you can close your eyes and experience a thrill. I would definitely come back for more. Thank you professional musicians, conductors and guests for performances that are tops.
Beautiful venue for great music with spacious rooms for any occasion. Ive been there many times for many occasions and it always satisfies, sometimes spectacularly. I cant get over how friendly the staff always is even the police outside; big men with broad smiles holding traffic for we senior souls. I dont think of it as a destination site but its function as a concert hall has hosted many great concert performers who have been inspirational to me! Great venue, Home to Great performances.

The building is beautiful, as if it itself is the showcase and not the music. Plenty of seating, although the nosebleed section isnt quite as desirable. And parking is rather difficult at times. Although I must say, sitting there for several hours at graduation in cap and gown was excruciating, the front row was terrifyingly hot. The A/C isnt the best depending on where you sit, so bring water.
Sharp place. Didnt check out the bar. Very spacious auditorium and there really isnt a bad seat in the house. Seats were comfortable and sounds quality was great. Parking was not a problem... Paid parking was very close so didnt have to walk much at all. Even traffic getting out was not bad.

This is a world class music hall with perfect acoustics. I love the newer seats giving guests more room! If only airlines would do that. We are so blessed to have such a great music hall with a world class philharmonic.I recommend paying a little extra to sit on the floor...so worth it for the great sound. That being said, there is not a bad seat in the house.Thanks for keeping the arts through music alive and well in Buffalo.

The parking situation seemed kind of...inconvenient from what I can recall at the last event I attended. Limited space, felt like there was nowhere to go. But the place itself is great. I have seen multiple orchestra concerts, I have performed with my high school orchestra, I saw a cool presentation by Ronin Donovan from National geographic. I will definitely come back at some point.
Kleinhans is a wonderful place to see a show. The staff was friendly and helpful. The acoustics are perfect. There is not a bad seat in the house. I saw the Buffalo Philharmonic and was positively thrilled by the beautiful music. I overheard a lot of people after the show saying how much they enjoyed the performance. Definitely recommend the venue and the Philharmonic for an enjoyable time.
Ive been to this place a few times and it never has any parking or walking space for its guests both before and after the events. Its a very nice looking hall it just cant support all the people who show up to fill the seats during intermissions or departure. The external atmosphere is very pleasant apart from the pond water being very dirty and the ambient sound around the music hall is not enjoyable. Uniformed police officers help with pedestrians trying to cross the busy street located at the business front.
One of the most architecturally fabulous places, anywhere! Ideal acoustics for concerts. Stunningly beautiful. Designed by world-renowned Eliel Saarinen. Any seat is a good one for hearing concerts. A wonderful variety of styles of music are offered. You must see - and hear - this gem while youre in Buffalo-Niagara!

This is an absolutely excellent venue with a great orchestra. I went to a kid friendly afternoon event and it was short, but I blame the nature of that specific event and do not believe it to be indicative of a normal show length. The actual performance was wonderful, and the worst criticism I have is that I was left wanting more.

Saw the B52s concert here. The facility is great for the performances but better management is needed at the bar during intermissions. Extreme long line ups and risk of fire hazard as people were blocking the stairwell on the upper floor. More servers are needed during this session and a rope to coordinate the flow of people is required which is the reason for the 3 stars. The selection of drinks and snacks were great and the staff were friendly.
Amazing acoustics as described in other reviews. I had the opportunity to attend the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestras season opening ...An Evening with Joshua Bell --- Amazing performance. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to BPO and Joshua Bell. I remember telling myself to breathe as I was so taken in by the music.The volunteers helping at the event were friendly and very helpful in making sure I wasnt lost and that I felt comfortable in the busyness of all that was happening around me. I look forward to attending other concerts at Kleinhans in the future - for sure.
Definitely a gem in the greater Buffalo Area. The venue doesnt look like much on the outside, but from the moment you walk in, you feel like royalty. Whether attending a Childrens Book Expo or a concert by the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, you cant help but be wowed by the Grand yet Simplistic design and architecture of the venue. The acoustic engineering perfectly blended with the architecture gives you a stunning listening experience. Be sure to add this to your Buffalo bucket list.

A vibrant and welcoming atmosphere. One can watch friends in eloquent conversations at the hall and then sit down to listen and enjoy amazing live presentations by the BPO. I’ve always enjoyed every single event. Simply magnifique!
Ive driven from Rochester to see the BPO half a dozen times or more in the last decade. The music Hall is a great venue. The orchestra , Soundsystem, seating, facility space, and now adjuncts food and drinks space in the attached concert hall and lower-level restaurant all make for an enjoyable venue and night out. However, parking sucks. But thats not a fault that lies with this organization.
Visited Kleinhans for a Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra concert. Beautiful building- one of the architecture gems in Buffalo. Main Hall has perfect acoustics. Smaller Mary Seaton Room hosts smaller concerts, and pre- & post-concert entertainment and beverages. Simple decor- everything in calming beige & light-toned wood. Generous seating between main floor & balcony (seats are generally comfortable). Additionally, there is table seating for pre-concert dining and a bar at the lower level. Old-School Lounges are classy-styled restrooms (with vanity mirrors and seating in the ladies lounges). Staff friendly & helpful. Some paid parking available- fills in quickly, before your visit research street parking options (streets are one-way in that area), or there are park & ride shuttles available for some concerts. No ATM nearby- have some cash on hand (for parking, and some artists & performers sell merchandise in the lobby.) Always an enjoyable and relaxing place to visit!

Over priced concert tickets , plus having to pay to park in there lot, cocktails cant be taken into seating area also no food. Place is really segregated as well, downstairs the have the high class restaurant for there members only, and upstairs is the cheap bar and seating area for the lower class..
Historical venue that offers a great variety in the performances they host. Ive been here several times since childhood to see the BPO as well as to sing in school choruses. It gets hot in here during the summer but the building is far bigger than it lets on. Any time I can see the BPO here is a treat.
We attended a Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra concert that included the Pink Floyd tribute band, The Machine. It was an outstanding concert at an excellent venue. The only issue was parking. You need to get there early!!
Kleinhans is a true gem in the Buffalo area.It hosts world renowned concertmasters, musicians, and vocalists. The acoustics are amazing, allowing for a lovely experience from any seat in the house.Of note, parking lot is small. While there is street parking, I suggest an earlier arrival to better assure a spot in their lot.
I went here for a crisis services benefit. Everything was absolutely awesome. It was a celebration of Chef Anthony Bourdain 2 years anniversary in passing. Some of the best restaurants in our area really put on a culinary extravaganza.

My daughter had her dance recital here and it was awesome, as it has been the last three years!! I was actually surprised at how well priced there little food and beverage bar is!! Love it!!

All-County Chorus Concert was fabulous
I was in the army and stationed at the AFEES station in the old Federal Bldg. on Main street close to the Anchor Bar in the late 60s and I spent many wonderful evenings at Kleinhans. They had a lot of country music shows with all of the popular entertainers of the day. It is a great facility and I still think of it often.
Basically a large highschool auditorium with so so accostics. Does have comfortable seats, good sight lines and friendly staff. Contrary to what many reviews say onsite parking fills up quickly and looks like a tangled mess when the event lets out. Street parking is available though with limited hassle.

I recently saw a comedy show here. It has very comfortable seating and amazing acoustics. It definitely is a world class concert venue.
Great acoustics. Was there for a high school graduation ceremony and the band and choir was exceptional. Would recommend a BPO experience to anyone. I did years ago.
The auditorium is the best in town. But whenever its filled , the hallway is much too small for the crowd of people after an event. Its impossible to find your party at the end of a highschool graduation ceremony, except outdoors. For events with a lesser crowd its ideal.
Kleinhans was built in 1940 as a public works (New Deal) project. It is one of the most favored concert halls in the world due to its superb accoustics.I have attended concerts here when I was young, and now twice this year. It is reasonably easy to find, and does offer free satellite parking with a shuttle, or on site fee based parking.Both events had free concerts beforehand for early arrivals. It was a bit chilly inside both times, but we had dressed appropriately, and werent too cold.
What can be negatively said about Kleinhans? I say absolutely NOTHING. In addition to being the home of our much-beloved Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, they also host a TON of private concerts and events. Even weddings! If I ever found that one special woman (not going to happen at 49 years old now) I would want my wedding here. Perfect acoustics and great seating make this place a truly wonderful music venue. I had the great opportunity to listen to the BPO perform Wolfgang Amadeus Mozarts classic Requiem Mass several years ago, and I was absolutely stunned as to how wonderful their perfomance was. The next time that they play ANY Mozart (Don Giovanni, in particular) I will be there will bells on, no matter what the ticket might cost.
I love Kleinhans! I love its history, amazing imaginative concerts, generous seating. Only one bone of contention...rest rooms are crowded during intermissions. Plan ahead!

We enjoy the events at Kleinhans. Just saw the BPO performance of the Beatles. Well organized, great music and lots of fun. Looking forward to more in 2020.

Went here today for the first time for Martin Luther King Day Celebration and it was a Nice Historic Place & clean very spacious the ceremony was great alot of talented people in Buffalo New York very inspiring they represented the culture and Martin Luther King Jr well thumbs 👍up to Kleinhans And Bessie Patterson will be back next year
Star-Spangled Spectacular was exactly that! Perfect for kick-off to Memorial Day Weekend. The Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and Buffalo Philharmonic Chorus performance was outstanding. Good enough for me to go back!
The kids concert was great.
My sister& I loved it so very much,we even cried because it really touched our hearts!! We are big fans of the wizard of oz, I told her everyone has a little Dorothy in them!! Very ralaxing&welcoming show!!
Came here for a hanson and the buffalo Philharmonic orchestra concert. Excellent service, the audio was perfect!! Will definitely go again. The orchestra was incredible!!
I had a ticket for thus morning concert, I got there at 09:40, the concert was at 10:30, and all their parking lots was full, I am handicapped and use a scooter to access events that I go to, I called the box office, to inquire about the problem, they first told me that the parking lot open at 08:00 and I should had got there at that time, I bought the ticket 2 weeks ago when I was at the Celtic Woman Concert, I had a hard time finding a spot. Then they told me no refunds, I could get a voucher for another show? I inform then about the handicap parking problem and he said that they are working on it. I will not go to a concert anymore there until they have it fixed. That is the reason that I gave a rating of 1 star.

Saw the Buffalo Philhamonic Symphony kids program here. The show was lovely and the space is nice. My only real complaint is the seats. The seats werent the most comfortable but they are apparently new.
Motown show was fabulous! We even danced along with the final song!
Great place, the staff does a great job. The sound is always great.Also each of my childrens graduations were here and it was as good as I figured it would be.

Kleinhans Music Hall is the home of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra. This spring they even get a trip to Poland for a tour. Every year they have about a 8 concert series which is primarily directed at senior citizens because it is at 9 in the morning with donuts and coffee, fantastic donuts. And then the Philharmonic plays something dedicated to a holiday starting about 10:30. The show is really great and is usually packed. So if you are a senior who want something to do on a Friday morning get in touch with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra at kleinhans Music Hall.

It is a good place. But the parking is the problem, when that dance thing comes there from the south park dance academy the parking lot is always full, the streets on the west side are sort in width so there is barely anywhere to park I even saw people, park on the wrong side of the street!
So beautiful, unique classy architecture that welcomes the artist and audience. This Orchestra is always one with the music. Peaceful music to soothe the soul.

Other then parking it is one of the best venues to listen to a live performance. The seating is a bit small, but not so small that you feel like you are sitting the next persons lap.

2022-06-08This is a stellar theater. Ive been here twice and both were excellent experiences. I will say the balcony feels dangerously open, like there needs to be a higher railing there. I felt like Jimmy Stewart in Vertigo walking close to it. But maybe thats just me lol. Excellent sound, a fantastic orchestra, and ever a dull moment here!

2021-12-14Beautiful venue. Very comfortable. Not a bad seat in the auditorium. As of 12/2/21 you have to wear a mask the whole time and no drinks including water in the auditorium.

2022-06-19Classical concert with Beethovens 5th as the highlight of the evening. Guest soloist pianist played Ravel excellently, encore was heartfelt. Felt much safer attending, knowing everyone was masked, and everyone was either fully vaccinated or had a negative COVID test. Great job of protecting the audience! Also attended the Herbie Hancock jazz concert on June 17th, very well attended. No masks required, although some patrons were wearing them.

2022-03-24Great place to see a concert!!! Just saw Brit Floyd & it was AMAZING!!! Kid friendly facility. Parking is limited so have to park on street a lot of times but if you can get in the lot it is only $10!!

2022-06-12Kenny G concert was fantastic. The venue has awesome acoustics, seats are very comfortable as well. Decent parking and great help with locating your seats.

2022-04-24The Brahms Requiem performance last night was outstanding and Kleinhans Hall contributed to that. Having the English translations on a screen way above the stage was so helpful and unobtrusive. Congratulations to all the performers, directors, administrators and behind the scene personnel!

2022-03-27A classic site. Great place for any concert. We recently enjoyed Leslie Odom Jr with his band along with the philharmonic. One of the best performances yet!
