This was a ton of fun! I did the Bullets and Broken Hearts room with 3 friends and it exceeded expectations. It was interactive and challenging enough that we were engaged and did not find it too easy. I definitely recommend trying this and will also be back to do another. I will say that online the room said it could be for 4-10 people and while there were a few different spaces and it was a big room, I feel like 10 would be far too many... 4 people was perfect for this, and maybe you could get away with 6? I wouldnt do 10, but thats just me.
Amazing.I went to the escape room with my wife and we had a great time. The room we did was the Chinese Hex room. I am glad we did only 2 people, because more for this escape room would be too much. The room was sanitized before we entered.I liked the fact that the hints and the introduction in the room were done by a narrator that kept in character (pre recorded).
I came here with a group of 5 and it was our first experience with an escape room, apart from 1 of us.We did St. Angelos Castle and the beginning part was like, a little TOO real. Not gonna lie, I had a mild panic. HOWEVER, that part was over quickly (for us, anyway) and the rest of the quest was much less anxiety inducing. Definitely dont do this one if you have issues with claustrophobia!Overall our experience was great and we had a ton of fun. Some of the clues we are still a little confused about, but we solved the room with 8 minutes to spare (and used 4 hints haha).Ill definitely be back and make it my goal to not use hints.
Best escape room still around, no question. Im an enthusiast and Komnata easily has the best game still around. ALL the games are top notch with high quality immersion and creativity. Its a real shame their other location isnt around anymore, the Maze of Hakaina was my favorite so far. Theres still 2 games I havent gotten to yet but I definitely will eventually. A bit pricey but totally worth it, highly recommended!
Komnata Quest is TRULY AWESOME!!! We completed most of the escape rooms in the Brooklyn location and had an incredible time. It blows away any other escape room that Ive been to. The rooms are very well designed, mind boggling, some are creepy but its almost like you are in another dimension for just a short time. I LOVED IT!!The staff work hard to make your group feels invited and welcome. They do a terrific job in explaining about the room and what you can and cant do. Check Komnata Quest. You will really enjoy it!
Ive done several escape rooms in the past. For my birthday I booked The Joker Room here after reading many glowing reviews. Upon finishing (and beating the room) my group of 4 had the same thought THIS escape room was WELL worth the money. The staff was wonderful and helpful, we appreciated that they seemed to take pride in the story and the business. The puzzles were intricate and amazing. Several times when we figured out the puzzle we all exclaimed AWESOME 12/10 would recommend to a friend. I guess my only criticism is that if this is your first Escape room, it will probably ruin other escape rooms for you, this was so well thought out that others will seem cheap and boring in comparison.
Really friendly place! They attended to us, explained everything, got us excited about our escape room and let us loose to the challenge. The sign in process was quick and painless and the escape room itself was great! We had to solve a series of challenges, which unlocked the second room and finally a third room. Lots of fun! Highly recommended!
If you haven’t been to an escape room before, heads up they make you lock up all your coats/bags/phones before starting. And it could be a bit dark for some people so it’d be harder to see the clues. There were a couple of times we got the clues right but nothing happened and we tried other things only to have them “hint” and us doing what we originally did. Maybe they didn’t pay attention for a few seconds and we were impatient. Overall, pretty dope horror escape room and we had a lot of fun.
Amazing! This was our first escape room and it did not disappoint! It was intricate and I was legitimately scared at a couple points. I think we had more fun than we even thought we would, and the staff did an amazing job of guiding us when we got stuck without just telling us straight up what to do, and we made it with a couple minutes left. Will be back and definitely recommend!
Disappointed in the experience of the Jokers Cafe escape room due to packed room as our original party of 5, was not deemed full enough to play the room on our own. We were joined by 4 other players and when requesting a reschedule, the staff stated that it would not be possible.Overall for 10 people, the room was not fun. Only max 4 could potentially be working on the puzzles at a time, which meant more than half of the others in the room were treated to enjoy some back seat gaming. We finished with 10 mins to spare and it really did not feel like any sort of accomplishment. The room could potentially have been finished earlier if a light bulb that was brunt on our run, was working as intended. The utility that this room provided, based on enjoyment/cost, was disappointing. For anyone who would like to enjoy this room, I would stress the fact that you reserve with a group of 6. We were only informed on this after we finished the room and did not show any joy in completing the challenge.
Such a great time! I was visiting family back in Brooklyn and we decided to finally try one of these escape rooms. It was so much fun we decided to do a second one the same night. We went on a weeknight so it wasnt super crowded. The staff were awesome and the rooms were harder than I thought. (Which was great!) I highly recommend the Suicide Hotel and the over 18 room (HILARIOUS). It was a great way to spend time with friends and family I hadnt seen in a while. A+ all the way.
I went to Komnata Quest twice, the first was for my best friends birthday. I love how friendly and cool the staff was. They even managed to scare us a few time during our quest which was City of Ashes, Silent Hills. We were unable to finish it the first time which was an hour long so we decided to visit again, funny enough, we got the same Quest Master, he made it very fun and exciting, we are planning on going again to try another quest. I love how affordable it was, we each paid 30 dollars and it was 4 of us.
Extremely underwhelmed and overheated! My boyfriend and I booked the Suicide Room for today at 8:30. While the staff was friendly, we were supremely disappointed in the quality of the room and puzzles. Decor was good, but the puzzles were incredibly easy - we escaped in just half an hour for a 1 hour room!!! Since it was just the two of us in the room, they charged us $100 total - the lower price quoted on the website of $32/person is based on MORE than 2 people in the room. We felt completely let down and ripped off, $100 for barely 30 minutes? Awful. The puzzles were obvious, and the only hints we asked for were mechanical related - for example, how do we reset a puzzle when an incorrect combination was entered, etc. There was also no airflow in the rooms (and the connecting rooms) and we were both super hot and sweating pretty badly when we left. We didnt feel like we could ask for a refund because the room worked the way it was supposed to, and it wasnt the staffs fault that the room sucked. We were just completely let down, disappointed and unimpressed. Zero challenge at all and super expensive to boot! Im pretty upset we wasted our time and money - this is both of our first time in NY and we were excited to try what we thought would be a first class escape room, based on the reviews. Stay away, buyer beware!
Had a really great time during my Escape The room experience. The rooms are set up very well. They dont feel claustrophobic but are on the darker side. The staff are always ready to help you along your way if you run into some trouble with trying to solve a clue. They are really friendly as well. I would recommend going with a group of clever friends.
This was an awesome experience. We did the robbery which has us clambering around a secret facility to break in and steal the precious object. We also did the murder mystery one which was very fun and spooky. Be ready for the dark! Both games were very elaborate and had high tech elements that made you feel like you were in a movie! Great fun!
Did two of the rooms here over Labor Day weekend. The staff was very friendly, although if youre an enthusiast I would ask to make sure they keep a close eye on your timer so you can get the exact time you escaped. Overall fun rooms, but be mindful of the fact that there is some climbing and crawling involved
Amazing experience. my group did the impossible murder mystery and the clues were challenging. the staff was amazing and I definitely want to do more of there challenges. this is the place to go if you want to have fun with your friend or family. I will definitely come again.
Went there not once, but TWICE yesterday. If you like doing escape the room puzzles, this is an awesome place with a lot of unique and challenging scenarios.Cost was on par with other similar venues, and the staff there was pretty awesome. The one (minor) thing that I can say against this place is that we couldnt use the discount coupon that was emailed to us the second time around as we hadnt received it yet. Then again, pretty sure they dont expect repeat customers in the same day, so its totally fine. It just means I have to go back there again.
So far I did 4 rooms . All of them are great . The interior , details, puzzles . Everything . Some of them are easier than others , but it’s coming with experience. The more rooms you are soung the better is understanding where you need to pay your attention. The staff is amazing too, the price is good. So if you are still thinking whether to go there or not , just go . You’ll have some fun .
The room we went into was pretty good. Detailed set, good clues (after you take the time to think), etc. Our assigned Staff member wasnt the most patient with us for sure, but the experience overall was good and going with my coworkers was great. Overall good experience and this was my first escape the room type game.
Had a BLAST here for my sisters bachelorette party! We did the Jokers Cafe and solved it with just 8 minutes to spare! Cant wait to come back and try the rest of the rooms. Shout out to our game master Kyle, who was super friendly, funny and helpful! The entire staff there that day were incredibly and nice and also extremely hilarious. I cant recommend this place enough, it was the absolute best!
My 2-person group entered and beat the St. Angelos Castle room. I will be vague with my review so as not to spoil any puzzles. The atmosphere was well-conceived; it gave off a dungeon vibe. It may have been even a little too good at times. Light is sparse, to the point of being annoying at least one time. The dim light combined in a bad way with a puzzle that could have been engineered with a little more precision. We solved it, but with some frustration. My team had a bit of a safety concern about the first puzzle. Suffice to say that this kind of escape room should have much quicker access to bolt cutters. I enjoyed the final puzzle very much. It was a great moment not only when I realized how to solve it, but also the act of solving it.
(Tried to give 3.5 stars but was unable)We completed Room 1409. Even though we didnt get out in time, it was a fun time. Still, there were definite points that could be improved in the future. The Good- Room 1409 had a great theme. The decor certainly set the mood. The puzzles were fairly linear and straightforward, yet still challenging. The Less Good- Some of the puzzles required absolute precision. In a few instances we had to go through the same motions again because it had to be so exact. The hint we often got was just to do something again. There was no timer, which Ive never seen before, and that was a bit frustrating at the end. (Also, no AC in the room).Otherwise, it was an enjoyable experience , and well probably be back!
Absolutly amazing experience. I have done over 20 room and this has been the most fully immersed experience I have ever had. The clues were different and original, the settings and props were outstanding, and the story flowed very well. Escaped with 17 minutes to spare!
Komnata Quest might have the best production value Ive seen in an Escape Room, the setting is definitely really really cool. Seriously, 5 stars for the setting, but they utilize low-lighting to make it harder to find clues which I find as a bit of a cop out. Overall Id say the actual process to escape, though fun if youve never done an escape room process, was less about solving riddles and more about just finding random clues in low-light. Its also a bit more expensive than most escape rooms and there were some technical difficulties with clues interacting properly with the environment. Overall, Id recommend this escape room for someone who hasnt done escape rooms before, but by no means is it one of the best ones Ive done yet. They have several locations though so Im eager to see how the others stack up against the Maze of Hakaina.
We did city of ashes and it was definitely one of the scarier rooms we have done. Not terrifying but a good level of spookiness to it. Clues were well done. Its a tough start but after you get moving the game flows nicely. We did have 2 small hiccups involving a light and a door but gamemaster was on top of both issues immediately and allowed for our game to not be ruined by these small errors. Highly recommended. They are very generous and offer unlimited hints, but try to limit them and enjoy the puzzles!
Good escape rooms, we have done 2 so far and both where excellent. Staff are super friendly and really looked after us. Make sure to book on the weekends but sometimes you can just walk in.They have two locations round the corner to reach other so make sure your going to the correct one.Good luck
An absolute gem - regardless of your party size you get the entire maze for yourself with genuinely challenging yet fulfilling riddles, requiring ability to think both ahead and what has already been accomplished. With optional quests along the way, you certainly feel the time crunch of the hour limit, but nothing that prevents you from having a full experience. Imho much better than escape the room experiences, but to each their own. You wont regret making this trip.
I tried Komnata Quest for the first time a few months ago, and I had a great experience. So far, I went there twice, and I enjoyed each quest in a different way. My first quest was The Chinese Jewelry Box, which was rated for beginners, and it was relatively easy to complete. Some puzzles took time to solve, but they kept me thinking without overwhelming me. Background oriental music and decorations in the room created the atmosphere that kept me engaged. Whenever I had trouble solving a puzzle, the game maker gave me a hint to keep me going. This is a good quest for beginners or pairs, or groups with children. I went with a friend, and, as it turned out, we worked well as a team. If one of us missed a clue, the other one picked up on it. We could also search different areas to find clues faster. Thus, we finished a little bit earlier than expected.Since I enjoyed myself at the first quest, I was dying to come back and try another one. I chose Limitless, which was completely in the dark and was meant for 2 people. This quest was totally different from the first one. The 2 people are separated and compete their own tasks in parallel rooms. However, they must help each other by passing objects through slots in the walls or sharing information they found. Without giving away too much, I will say that this quest engaged my sense of touch because I had to find objects by exploring the area with my hands. I could not see anything. In the end of the quest my friend and I met and exited together. The downside was that we had to wait for each other to complete our tasks. If I was done earlier, I had to sit in the dark and wait for the other person to finish as well, but overall, it was an interesting experience. Besides, it would have been awkward stumbling upon each other in the dark.As I enjoyed the two quests I tried, I am looking forward to trying other ones. It was a cool feeling being in a well-scripted and well-staged story and finding clues to escape. It was something I always wanted to experience, and Id like to experience again.
I visited with a group of friends. We played Suicide Hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the game itself was scary and challenging, but also really fun. Great place to go to have some fun with a few friends, and Ill probably be visiting again in the future!
Guys...this specific location is amazing!! Loved the front desk folk. David and Patrick are so great and friendly and the rooms are a lot of fun. Our group just finished 1409 (scary!!) and Robbery (physical!!). Lots of fun and would highly recommend this place for anyone whos adventurous and/or loves puzzles.
City of Ashes was perhaps the scariest room Ive played, not for its set design or any element they intended to scare you but for its utter lack of coherency. The over all experience was a confusing mess of disjointed puzzle which we mostly solved out of order and sometimes without really knowing how. The plot was unintelligible at times and uninteresting, that is, when the ambiant music wasnt drowning out the audio clips. This room was far easier than their St. Angelos Castle, which was overall a more positive experience, but their conclusions were highly disappointing. The last room in this particular game was a major flop requiring players to commit suicide. I would not recommend if you are easily scared or if youre an experienced escape room player. The Game Master was friendly enough not that I can remember her name or she never offered it. When we were brought into the room the audio introduction began to play but she started giving us a verbal introduction over it at the same time. Im not sure if the audio introduction was errroneous or out-dated but it definitely ruined the immersion and ended up mudding the overall plot, if there was one. We escaped in 29-mins with one clue, which we did ask for or need as we were working on the puzzle correctly. However, due to there not being microphones in the room its understandable how this would happen. At this point I will not be trying another Komnata Quest room without setting my expectations quite low.Set design/scenery: 4/5Everything else: 1/5Again, I reviewed their other room, St Angelos Castle, with a much higher rating. While I do work at an escape room I have enough integrity to admit that my escape room has some flaws that we are currently working on and any review I give is no way influenced by my current employer. Which is at no point mentioned in this review.
I have done many escape rooms and this one was pretty average. The clue master at the location was very friendly, but I had many struggles with booking through phone calls and the website with the staff being extremely unhelpful via phone. The room itself was well decorated, but the puzzles were not high quality and our clue master was a bit too jumpy on giving hints. Not a bad experience, but not a great one either.
We were disappointed with City of Ashes. While the horror aspect was good, the puzzles were not well-designed. Many puzzles did not make much sense, there was no real connection to the theme, and it was difficult to get more than 2 people involved in any puzzle, there just was not enough content to keep a group of 6 occupied - we had team members just walking around looking for more puzzles to solve. The last puzzle was a particular headscratcher, made zero sense and detection was finicky.
Definitely one of the sickest experience ever. if youre wondering whether youll be the smart one who escapes or the first one to die in your favorite horror film then this is the place to go. props, effects & staff were great, clues were well thought out. overall great experience. I will be back!
We did Bullets and Broken Hearts. Weve been to a different adventure with a large group - with this one, there was no way to multi-task, so yes, you can fit 10 people easily - but its hard for everyone to participate since each puzzle is pretty small, and its difficult to have more than 5 people working at once. There was too much emphasis on dim light (hard to see/hard to read instructions) - making this less of a puzzle and more of attention to detail/can you see in the dark type challenge. Some of the clues were a stretch. Maybe the other puzzles are designed better. It also did not help that our reservation was for 6pm, but when we arrived we were told Management changed the schedule - we have you on for 7pm now, and nothing we can do.
Komnata Quest is amazing!!!!!!! Customer service was great. We had some purchasing issues and they were amazing super helpful about it. Best customer service I ever encountered. The first room we did was the Impossible Murder Mystery and it was spooky and scary really made my heart race. I will definitely recommend to go to Komnata Quest.
Warning: These puzzles are not for the faint of heartI speak for myself as well as my friends when I say there was not an aspect of our experience that was anything short of amazing from the moment we walked into the establishment, from the mystery room itself to the customer service. To talk specifics, we chose to solve the Impossible Murder Mystery. We wont give any spoilers but in general, the puzzles were very elaborate and difficult. And it was the little things about the room itself that really contributed to the ambiance. And to say room is an understatment, its more like rooms.I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to have a day out with their friends and want to simulate the thrill depicted so popularly in Hollywood. Needless to say, we will be coming back again before the summer ends.
Played three rooms with them in a team of three, two of them at this location. Awesome rooms that made the gameplay fairly immersive, especially The Impossible Murder. Highly recommend playing The Robbery that Changed the World if its your first one, and if you think youre hella brave and love subtle scary movies with a lot of jumps, try out The Impossible Murder. Trust me, they are rooms that are worth the price and your time! And if youre lucky enough, youll have either Elana or Blue as your game master! They are hilarious, adorable, and youll love hearing their voices every time you ask for a clue.
For the purpose of this review, I will separate my opinion into four parts as the experiences offered here vary greatly in quality. Here are my separate reviews for each one:The impossible murder mystery: This room is a sprawling and utterly horrific game that perfectly preys on basic fears to invoke a feeling of dread in every step. I would give this game a 5/5City of ashes: An amazing game that concisely conveys a Silent Hill-esque set that will immerse you in the sinister locale itself, even when the puzzles are a bit rocky. I would give this room a 4/5.The robbery that changed the world: This room is one of the most immersive you will play, pitting its played a against a variety of actions that feel as if your executing a real robbery. However, although it is advertised as an escape room, it is more of a quest, and for that I give it a 3/5.Suicide hotel: This room does convey the nightmarish world of Stephen Kings short story well, but the puzzles are either non-existent or slightly convoluted, with one being almost impossible due to the poor function of the prop used. This game is my least favorite here, and receives a 2/5.Komnata quest is an unique company that is a must for escape enthusiasts looking for a new experience, and also first timers looking for a kind of on-ramp to the world of escaping. However, some games are better than others, and know before that many of these games will be unlike many you have previously experienced.
I went here with my friends to solve the Impossible Murder Mystery & I have to say I underestimated this place . It was absolutely amazing & really fun ! It was very suspenseful & never knew what was coming next . I had a great time & I plan to come again to visit the other rooms & the future rooms to come.
My husband and I have done over 30 escape rooms. Were obsessed. Komnata is amazing. Their rooms are totally immersive. Weve done all four at this location. I recommend boxed up. Its only for two people. And incredibly unique. We will be talking about this place for a while with our friends.
Wow my husband and I had such and amazing time here. The staff is very helping and extremely organized. I recommend this for a fun date night with friends or couples. This is a great way to interact and get to learn a lot about each other. 👍👌. Good luck and hope to make it out alive
Komnata offers unique experiences with each of their escape rooms. They are fun to do as a couple or with a group of friends. The staff is super friendly and they offer a 20% flash sale if you book your next adventure at the end of your game. Komnata keeps developing new escape rooms with different themes and challenges to meet a variety of interests.
This place is so great! Defininetly not what I expected coming into this, came for a best friends birthday and instantly fell in love. Certain ones are really challenging as opposed to themes some are scary. 100% worth a trip I am in love with it and coming back as soon as I can!
Been here more than once and i fell in love! The set up for each game are so realistic and cool. Cute spot in Brooklyn that you can enjoy with your friends especially around Halloween time it when cold out. I dont want to give away much but i can tell you this about the games. Room 1409 is a cool one to start with since clues arent to hard and gives you enough time to finish in the hour. Dr. frankenstien was definitely challenging and the more people the more brains to help figure out the clues. Murder mystery was definitely scary but also fun. Over all i highly recommend to come with friends!
I participated in A Robbery that changed the World quest! It was a great adventure with my friends and a company of 3 people is perfect for this quest! The staff is super friendly, location is primer and game is challenging. They also have a second location in long island city.
A smart, challenging game that doesnt spoonfeed you so many hints that it doesnt feel tough. Not so hard as to be frustrating. The tasks were really inventive, staff was helpful, and they are delightfully committed to the different themes which makes the experience really immersive. Going to go again!
We did the Sin City room, and this was one of the worst escape rooms I have ever done. None of the clues logically linked you to the next clue. I really dont want to say much beyond that because I wont spoil it, but if you are an escape room enthusiast like our group was, the Sin City room is very skippable.
Too damn dark in the room 10/10 would stumble around again flailing arms wildly. (Impossible Murder Mystery)I came here with my friends to solve the murder mystery, it was pretty spoopy. I would enjoy something with more lights so that my blind self can actually do more than stumble around screaming for more lights.
I planned this as part of my husbands birthday . I read so many good reviews that we had to come and try ourselves. However it felt like the reviews were paid for reviews as this was one horrible expirance . The staff was very short with us when we arrived , being very unfriendly. But hi we are here for the rooms right. First room we go in has a object who wasnt working , staff yelled at us,how cant we understand the room. They had to give us the answer to overcome unworking clue. Second room we get stuck in for about 15 long min , walking our clues step by step but nothing happens, again staff guy was annoyed with us , urging us to look again on the main clue , but hi guess what , the clue wasnt even in the room, it was left in the next room, one which we didnt have access to. On the the last one of our rooms guy kept saying we are over our time and he gave us final clue, which we didnt ask for . When we come out we check the time , and we were inside only 40 mins instead of 60. Staff kept inciting we were there for a whole hour , making us sound like idiots. Didnt even apologize for the fact that two of the clues were missing/broken. All in all very bad expirance, we have been to over 20 rooms in other parts of the world as well as in NY, such bad business we have never seen. We live around the corner and have many many guests who come to NY looking for things to do, it is sad that I wont be recommending this to anyone I know.
Got a gift certificate for Christmas for $100.00 . Didn’t realize it had an expectation date of 6/23/18. Called them up on 7/16/18 spoke to a young women explained the situation, she asked me to take a picture and text it to her and she would reach out to owner, after a few phone calls back and forth she told me because they couldn’t find it in their system and because of this there was nothing they can do for the gift certificate , which makes no sense because they obviously got paid for the gift certificate since I have it, they did offer to get me a discount off a game, but I feel like they should have honored my gift certificate and maybe take a penalty percentage off, I shouldn’t have lost the whole thing.
I have done a lot of rooms with Komnata they are always so accommodating and once booked they close out the room so you dont have to share with strangers. They have a good variety of rooms some easy some scary even one that is erotic. I suggest loolking at the disruption to figure out which room suite your group best... Ive called a couple of times to get suggestions from the staff.
The design was cool, but there were some major problems with the puzzles.First, we we did not receive clear instructions about what we should and should not touch. We were told not to touch sprinklers and cameras and wires, but it was unclear about lights and wires. This was complicated by the fact that there were clues on lightbulbs, live electricity in fixtures without bulbs in them (which made me nervous about getting electrocuted), and then a later puzzle that I guess we were supposed to touch exposed wires.Second, one set of clues were pretty much backwards (involving spinning something), and we asked for clues several times. We should have asked for a clue earlier, but it took a long time to get though it even with their clues (as the first sets of clues were counterfactual to what we were seeing). Also, it would be helpful to write the channel number down on the radio, as someone accidentally changed the channel when trying to adjust the volume and we fell out of contact when we got stuck on the aforementioned puzzle for 20 minutes.Overall, the design was really cool and had some neat touches. Id do another escape the room thing, but would be interested in a different place before returning.
We went as a group of ten and played a total of four rooms (split into two teams), unfortunately one of the rooms had a malfunction which limited the game somewhat. It would have been better if it was fixed before we played, or we could have played another room/be given a refund.
Completed Boxed Up and it was out of this world! My mind was racing! It was a mental challenge both for the puzzle solving but also the psychological aspect of fighting against the clock in an enclosed space! Highly recommend! Cannot wait to schedule my next escape adventure. Thanks Komnata!!
This was great! I did Robery that changed the world, it was so much fun and exciting. It really feels like your doing the real thing! I already gone to komnata three times already, I always want to come back thats how great it is. The employees are very nice and patience. People you need to do this!!!
Best time ever!!! I went twice with my fiancé my cousin and his girlfriend and it is one of the best things we have ever experienced. we tried the st angelos castle and the 7 sinful pleasures. we honestly cant wait to try the other rooms.st angelos castle was my favorite it was so cool and amazing. I really was not expecting it to be so real. by far the best escape game in new York. I would advise anybody who likes crazy interesting exciting new activities to go.7 sinful pleasures is a different level of excitement. if your into that awkward hilarious sexy fun with a group of friends than this would be the room for you. it was so interesting and funny all the toys they had in the room and everything else it was truly a night to rememberTHE BOTTOM LINE IS GOOOOOO TO KOMNATA QUEST. YOU WONT REGRET IT. CANT WAIT TO TRY THE OTHER ROOMS.
Did corporate event with 20 people. 1 employee running 4 rooms. Bad service experience. One of rooms was badly prepared, some pantry door was opened that led to the goal room directly. Were told to get back and start all over. Some equipment was broken in several rooms - connector cables, daggers, and lasers. Some hints were not logical. No Wifi.

2022-05-11This was a really fun experience! Something different. My first escape room. 100 bucks to play. We did Dr. Frankensteins room. If you know, then you already know.To newbies like me, you enter this dark, scary (add sound effects) room. Theres a spooky voice to introduce things. Then you need to figure out how to turn on the lights, pretty simple. Then figure out the clues. The clues lead to keys which lead to more clues. If you get stuck then you need to do a little dance in front of the security camera and theyll give you a hint. Its fun. Like really fun. Great team building exercise. Come here and have fun! Enjoy

2022-02-11I took my little sister here for her birthday and she had such a great time. We were in city of ashes and the room was well designed, decorated and better then the 2-3 escape rooms Ive been to which were cheap looking. Our keymaster Jeffery was amazing and made the experience for us even better. I recommend this to anyone who loves horror and puzzles. Me and my sisters certainly had a wonderful time.

2022-07-08I love the production design of their rooms! I just wish their location was more accessible for someone handicapped. My mom couldn’t join us because there was no access to an elevator when we went. I wish they made that known on their website when booking. Overall we had a great time, I just wish there was a better way for the game master to communicate with us while we’re in the room!

2022-05-17I wanted to check out Komnata Quest because their Google reviews are astounding, and their rooms looked fun! I had also called Komnata Quest, and the person I spoke to was so excited to tell me about the rooms. We did the Hex of the Chinese Jewelry Box with a group of 3. While my friend and I like doing escape rooms as a duo, its $50/person for 2, and $35/person for 3. After you complete your game, you get a code for 20% off. At the 104 West location, they are located on the 3rd floor but need better signage outside the building because it is a bit sketchy. You get unlimited hints here as well. For this room, I enjoyed the layout and a majority of the puzzles. This room is on the easier side, and a good number of clues are found by searching instead of puzzle solving. However, if you cannot spot red herrings, I can see where some people might get caught up! Compared to other NYC escape rooms at this price point, I think Komnata Quest could do more.My major issue with Komnata Quest is how they operate. First, our moderator Bridget cannot hear anything we say in the room. The clues are prerecorded, so if you have a specific question about something, the moderator will not give you a personalized answer; there is no way for them to contact you! The second thing that bothered me was that there was no time clock in the room. Bridget mentioned that it is for an immersive experience, but to me, timing is part of the strategy. Part of my thrills come from pacing out the experience and knowing when to productively struggle versus asking for clues. When they said no phones or watches, I left my watch on because it is not a smart watch, and I just assumed that they didnt want you to have that in the room. I didnt realize they didnt want you to not see time at all. When I called Komnata Quest, this room was actually not recommended, but it was one of their beginner rooms. The recommended rooms have jump scares, but I may be willing to try one to see if the experience is better. I will update my review accordingly if it proves more fun!

2022-05-14Came here for a friend’s birthday and did the City of Ashes room. From the moment we arrived our GameMaster Jeffrey was fantastic! He created a comfortable environment outside the room and craftily added to the suspense as we worked through the game itself. The room was challenging and the jump scares certainly heightened the intensity, but it was a blast all in all! Absolutely would go back again to complete the 2 other rooms after this experience. Can’t recommend Komnata enough for a fun escape from the usual haunts, even if you don’t escape!

2022-02-19Friendly and helpful staff. Did Saint Angelo’s and noticed that parts of the rooms are coming apart (panels falling/fallen out of the walls, mount for emergency escape falling off the wall in the first room, one of the puzzles that included lights wasn’t fully functional) but it seems to be one of the older escape rooms. Keeping a 3 star because I have no doubt the repairs will get done and the room will be great. Definitely would try another room. I recommend at least a 4 person group.

2020-01-26We did the City of Ashes escape room, and Alyssa was our game manager. The experience was awesome and Alyssa was amazing! Multiple rooms were themed really well with clever puzzles, props, and sound effects. Definitely not the most challenging escape room Ive done, but the overall experience was worthwhile. Id recommend 2-4 people for this room, as I think more people would have been unnecessary. I want to try the other rooms!Entrance to Komnata was a weird door on the side of this building. You have to ring the bell for someone to let you in.
