KUMO Sushi Lounge in other cities:
I just had an amazing meal at this place. I ordered kumamoto oyster they were so fresh and buttery served with ponzu sauce and caviar. The uni sushi tasted like it just came out of the sea.The baby yellow tail sashimi was outstanding. This place has the freshest fish in Westchester. The most professional staff and service. If I can give six stars I would.Highly Recommended. Everything was so delicious.
I Really Like Kumo Sushi and Lounge. The atmosphere is warm and romantical(lol!).There are MANY house sushi rolls, including ones with King Crab, which I love ( I dont like the fake crab). Theyve also got several cold and hot appetizers options, including a grilled scallop appetizer w/risotto, grilled 1/2 lobster tail poached in butter, as well as the requisite Tempura, soups, shumai and gyoza(dumplings). They have lots of other hot meals/entrees that I havent tried, but looks great like Hibachi options that incl appetizer etc, Udon noodle bowls, and fried rice.Great bartenders and service is impeccable. Well run establishment. Keep it up!
I didnt know what to expect when I went to your for lunch, but I was thoroughly surprised and a happy way. The place is beautifully furnished and the staff is very attentive. I think my water glass was filled about 15 times. The food was super fresh and the portions were humongous. I was impressed that there was a staff of five sushi, chefs and uniform diligently working. This is definitely a place you should check out for higher level Japanese food
For lunch: The lobster king roll, soft shell crab, veggie tempora, a melon mojito, and to end it off with pistachio pudding made my day!Sheek, very clean, and trendy envioronment. I can see and taste why this place was voted one of the top places to eat in Westchester. Ill be back.
Really great food! I mostly do take out and everything is fresh and packaged securely. The service can take a little long but I know it’s because they don’t want to rush the food out looking sloppy. Asian cuisine is sort of an art form and every time I’ve sat down (even take-out) the food is organized beautifully! The staff are attentive and friendly. Whoever gave this place one star, she gives one-star to a ton of places (don’t pay her any mind)2/10/22 - I took one star away because the food wasn’t fresh as it was sorry
I always get take out from this place so I’m a little disappointed at my dine in experience. My partner and I was not greeted as nicely as others when we walked in. We just stood there and was ignored at first. Wasn’t offered soup or salad and I didn’t notice until I saw other tables receive it. Just overall didn’t feel that welcomed. Felt rushed and was being watched. The check was brought out literally after I took the last sip of my wine. We just paid and left. Sad because I like their sushi but do better with your service and treat all people equal.
Service was unfriendly. I order Gyza which had no flavor. Then I order spicy tuna roll again had no flavor and wasnt even spicy. Then I ordered large crab and avocado. There was more avocado than crab and again tasted blan. Ive been to several Sushi restaurants and had the best service with great tasty food. Never again waste of money since I didnt even eat half of my plate.
Visited early evening today and the staff was amazing. My toddler was having a exceptional bad night shortly after ordering. Every waitress on the floor did everything I could imagine to try to entertain her but unfortunately she had other plans then keeping me company for dinner. While I did get thru half my meal and enjoyed the sushi very much, the commitment from the waitresses to actually hospitality was unmatched. Thank you for your service and apologies for having a handful.
There is alot of great things to say here.. Great ambiance and decor, from the bar area to the seating, and even the chopstix. The staff was friendly and attentive. We did not wait long for our apps or entres. Most importantly the sushi was fresh and quality. And the kicker, well priced . Definitely coming back 👌🏻
Really like this place. My lifetime friends and I meet once a month here. We are all sushi aficionados and we are never disappointed. Sushi is fresh, they have imaginative rolls, good selection of appetizers, and the customer service is always first rate. Give this place a shot and youll come back!
Great local eatery. Have been coming for a while now, and the food is always fresh. Great location close to the Bronx River Parkway in a shopping center, so parking is never a problem. The online ordering system makes food on the go extremely easy. They also have hard to find Japanese whiskey, which is always worth a try.
Definitely the best sushi in Westchester. Service, presentation, taste, variety - all are top-notch. Nothing here to really knock your socks off - you will never think you are in Manhattan or LA - but a reliably good meal. I did have to take a point off for the TVs, which are bright and hard to avoid. They dont belong in a high quality restaurant . . .
I come to this outstanding place every couple of days because I enjoy the special atmosphere that is unique to this place. The personel is exceptionally friendly and qualified. The service is pretty fast. Most important, the food you eat is good. I visited many times and I was never disappointed. The payment is decent. I recommend this place to my friends and family.
We are Manhattanites new to Scarsdale and have been looking for a “genuine” Japanese restaurant. Well it looks like we found it. Amazing food, great service, and an awesome atmosphere. I definitely will be back and definitely will recommend this great authentic Japanese restaurant to anyone who asks. If you have to do sushi in Southern Westchester County definitely make this you’re number one choice. Make sure you call ahead for a reservation on Friday and Saturday nights because it gets busy... happy eating
This is our second time here. Kumon has a loungy feeling which we love. The wait staff & hostess are very friendly & that helps gives a customer a very warm feeling. The Happy Hour specials are the stars here. A large bottle of hot sake for $5 who can say no! The sushi is very fresh here & I can eat that all day long.
Finally! A NYC quality restaurant in Westchester! I just came back from Tokyo and found that the taste and presentation of the food at Kumo to be just as good or better. The cocktails are very unique and delicious, too. Wait staff is wonderful, the ambiance is contemporary and very nice. It does get a bit noisy when the tables fill up, but it doesnt detract from the overall experience. This restaurant is a must!
Overall DOWNGRADED...quality of fish (most specifically) & cooked dishes, in-house service, & lets not forget the customer service by the front desk girlsService in-house is sub-par..This is actually the reason why my family and I started to place our orders to go. Recently however, for our take-out orders, the attitudes of the front desk ladies really make for a wonderful dining experience! With their short-attention spans, re-reading the order 3-4x and overall short temperament (ESP if they cannot hear you the first attempt). Not to mention they speak English relatively well.NOTE TO CUSTOMERS:GOD HELP YOU IF YOU ARE TRYING TO USE A COUPON!!! Which THEY place on their to-go menus and also send these discount coupons to local surrounding addresses. $5.00 off $30.00 & $10.00 off $70.00. Please be reminded as it DOESNT SAY ON THE COUPON..To reach the $30.00 or $70.00 discount, the tax is not included in your total. Little false advertising scheme to make you order that extra $5-$8 dollar roll to get over the heap ;-)PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU GET YOUR DISCOUNT!!! EATING IN and OUT!! Dont let Tanya tell you otherwise!Heres a brief over-view, because boy was this my favorite SUSHI spot in Southern Westchester since they opened approximately 3 years ago...Since they have opened my family alone has spent collectively between $5K-6K MINIMUM. We eat sushi 3x a week religiously, (it might be a bad habit BUT its what myself and the kids enjoy) Especially for a nice healthy, quick, take out snack! Hey- you cant go wrong with fish and rice right?! Well at Kumo..now you can!Haiku is up the street which matches in ambiance (not quality) and much better service. There is (all you can eat) Sushi-Castle less than a mile away (all you can eat for a reason). Scarsdale Village has Kirari, KoKo and Shoyu as well. Dont settle. The lunch specials (decent for the price) HOWEVER, they forget to mention they are approximately HALF the size of the regular menu. If you ASK they will tell you though!! On a Friday/Saturday night over a year ago you would find a decent crowd at the bar, not anymore. I have many friends and family that share the same opinion on this place and little unbeknownst word travels fast! There has been 5-6 occasions where they closed early during the week with no explanation as it doesnt make sense for them to stay open. If you try to place an order 45-50 minutes before closing you have a 20% chance Sunday-Thursday of getting it in. Closing is 10pm and therefore you should be able to leave an order until 10pm PERIOD.They absolutely DOWN-GRADED their fish over the past few months. The off-set color, size, texture & temperature lately has been the demise. The past 3 orders have upset/rumbled our stomachs, made us flush in the face, increased my body temperature and we felt uneasy finishing our meals. Tonight I had to give them one last shot and this was the final LET DOWN. What a waste of $40,00 dollars, time, mileage/gas picking up our order and our Friday night. 2/7 rolls we ordered were great. Im sorry I dont order to get 30% of my order ON POINT. This has consistently been STANDARD across the board my last 6-7 orders with them and like many others our time with them is over.I have lived in the area for over 23 years and have an excellent savor for SUSHI, specifically SUSHI. I used to assess/appraise sushi restaurants in the best college towns in the country while in college. Thereafter, I evaluated the top 10 all you can eat sushi places in NYC and the top 10 premier sushi restaurants from the upper east/west side to downtown Manhattan. I have been showcased and premiered on many famous sites/blogs for my knowledge/experience in the sushi arena. I am (among many) considered the Sushi King of the NorthEast. I know..quiet strange but I appreciate the accolades :)Make sure you are getting the QUALITY/SERVICE you deserve and make sure your food is worthy of what you pay for it. You deserve to know and deserve the best quality and care.Life is short, make good decisions.-SK
I think of this restaurant like the holocaust - never again!Ive eaten here twice. The cooked food sucked both times. The sushi is ok but nothing special. Its not well made but benefits from the raw fish not needing to be cooked by their awful chef. The duck leg I ordered for my son was raw. I dont mean pink. I mean unsafe, chewy raw. I had to cook it again when I got home. Their ingredients arent exactly fresh either.Last time my salmo teriyaki was so over cooked I could have made it into shoes.So.. dont eat there but if you have to, stick to sushi and hope for the best.

2022-02-11This was my first time going to this sushi spot and WOW I’m never going anywhere else. A bit on the pricey side but the fish tastes so fresh. Also, the lycheetini was probably the best I’ve ever had. I ordered the lobster king roll, and the sashimi and sushi for 1. Coming back for the dim sum next time!

2022-05-012nd time here (we live about 1/2 hour away), wish we were closer, wed eat here all the time. beautiful decor, excellent and super efficient, attentive, and friendly service (friday lunch time, and they were busy), even a complimentary bowl of hot edamame (and an extra bottle of sake and even desert! but I think they did that just for us). everything was really tasty and flavorful, and some seafood you dont see often, like live scallop and sayori, which was not only a beautiful presentation of the whole fish, but the flesh nicely slivered and the skeleton deep fried, and was entirely edible (and very tasty!). other sashimi pieces that were all very fresh and good, and even fresh (real) wasabi with everything, not the fake powdered stuff, its really good.only thing we were less than happy with was the appetizers, one of fried rice cubes with a side of chopped salmon and a dab of lime avacado, the other was chopped tuna on top of chopped avocado. while both were decent tasting, they were both very simple, with no extra toppings or ingredients, very uninspired...would not order those again because of this (and the too-high price for such simple dishes). pork buns were good, but again, $8 for only 2, not worth it. we are not averse to paying top dollar for good food, but these simple appetizers did not warrant the price. just wish they added something extra, say, something crunchy, or maybe tobiko, or thinly sliced jalapeno, or extra sauces, etc.chefs please take note and make adjustments, we would love to try other appetizers! (Id give a 4.5 review if I could, Id only knock off 1/2 a star for the simple appetizers).but would definitly come back again, for the great sushi and experience.

2022-03-21When you’re looking for a more upscale sushi experience, visit Kumo Sushi Lounge. The ambience is very trendy and know that it gets quite busy after 6pm. I paid a visit on a Saturday night at 8pm and it was packed with people waiting for tables and even a full bar. Pictured are the Manhattan roll, Toro Scallion roll, Spicy Yellowtail Roll, Toro, Baby Yellowtail, Hamachi and Egg sushi pieces. All was absolutely delicious and fresh. We got two small appetizers and one dessert to share across a party of 3. It got everyone surprisingly full which made us all happy. This spot is great for a dinner date or even a quick bite to eat, given you have a reservation or can wait for a table. Can’t wait to go back!

2022-03-17Amazing place! Food is genuinely so fresh you can taste it, especially fish Servers are incredibly kind and patient. I do warn that it can take a while to recieve your dishes, but this is because they are making it from scratch and the food is 100% worth the wait.

2022-04-09Wow! I thought when I moved out of Manhattan, I would lose the feel and quality of the sushi places I was used to. Well… not only was I wrong, but this place is such a stand out, exceptional restaurant that I put it into my monthly budget, because I cannot live without it. The tempura appetizer, geisha roll, Dumplings, service and anything else you want is here. @brookerybicki

2020-12-22Always great service and hospitality. I make it a point to sit at the bar. The level of service doesn’t vary whether a seated patron or bar patron. Great local dining. Drinks are mixed to satisfaction. Take advantage of the specials, which are sure to wet the appetite.
