Kung Fu Tea in other cities:
Hi Kevin, thanks for asking me. If you are the owner I would like to know more about your employment standard. How long has it been since the last time you trained your staff? Especially for the female cashier tonight. She is lack of common courtesy. Is it that hard for her to say words like “sorry”, “thank you” and “please”??? I’ve been here at least 10 times, people are diverse and some are very nice, but she has never given me a good face. Was she only targeting me and other Asian students ? I have some Asian friends who often go there they also feel the same way. I noticed she always smile and be courteous to Caucasian students. Please don’t tell me that’s her preference. 2 star for the food and other staff who care about guests feeling and treat people kindly and equally. Plus, if she is the owner I’ll be extremely disappointed to this place.
.The tea shop offers a variety of different bubble teas and other Oriental teas. The location is conveniently next to University at Buffalo for any students. The interior is well decorated with different Oriental styles, and has an up class feel. Overall this is a good place to take a break from work and meet friends to hang out.
I went there today around 8:20 and I was excited to get bubble tea after work. I went and I was told they were closed by an employee in a fraternity attire that they ran out of tea and thus were closed. There was a massive line and we were all told no more orders. I saw them continuing making drinks for themselves and cleaning but telling us they were closed seemed very lazy. Im very disappointed. Despite them saying no more tea I saw pitchers of various teas on the counters? How early should I come if I want to avoid no more tea?
This place is actually inside the Commons of UB. Didnt realize that. They were out of every choice we asked for in bubble tea and food items. We settled on two drinks that we are happy with. Loved the mango popping bubbles! They took a while to make the teas and then they ran out of straws. I told the man at the counter and then he instantly forgot. He looked at me a minute later and asked if there was something I wanted. I answered, A straw. We were sitting there drinking our teas when I realized that the music videos they had on the television was swearing repeatedly. I got up and told my 12-year-old daughter we have to go.
The place is so cute and modern. I havent tried their food but their bubble tea is so freaking good. I go there way to much just to get the tea. My all time favorites are the milk teas with boba. SO GOOD. The location is on the UB campus but anyone can go to the food area.
If you want a hot drink, they apparently turn off the machine at around 6pm. This is my third time being frustrated since no one bothered to tell me they close it at a certain time. Its a TEA PLACE. And its COLD outside. Why on earth would you turn off the hot drinks portion hours before you actually close!?!?!?EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING. I used to go to the Kung Fu in Syracuse all the time. Im not a fan of this. Not to mention the curt service... I couldve sworn it was a service industry that would appreciate repeat customers regulars.Plus side: theres plenty of seating and its a convenient location. So long to my bubble tea love at UB.
The bubbles were ROCKS. Literal rocks. I removed all the bubbles and drank the drink. I told the workers about the problem and they said that was the only batch out and the kitchen did not have another batch in the back. Its 4:30pm right now. I dont know why the bubbles are so hard today. The popcorn chicken was stale and the rice was hard. I threw it out and asked for a refund. This is the worst experience Ive had here. Im so upset about the bubbles I just had to make an account and review.
Okay this place officially sucks today. They left out all the ingredients in drinks. We ordered severa drinks to go and when we finally got home, there was only milk tea and no bubbles or herbal jelly in our hot drinks. What a scam!! We even tipped well, and it spoiled the evening of celebrating the lunar new year. It is not okay. That’s literally the one thing you need to do well at Kung Fu Bubble tea. Seriously.
Out of all the places in Buffalo, Kung Fu Tea makes the best bubble milk teas. However, the erratic changes in their hours is probably the most frustrating part of this establishment. Kung Fu Tea is part of a larger chain that is located in NYC. They can customize your drinks based on how sweet, how much ice, and what type of extras you want (tapioca, grass jelly, etc). They also offer quite a bit of snacks that are reminiscent of the Boba Shops back home (California). The place is very modern in design and has plenty of seating space for hanging out, reading or studying. They even have booths that are large enough to seat 8 people or so. They also offer a karaoke both in the back.Tip: call ahead to make sure theyre open before you make the trip over otherwise you may end up disappointed.
Food is so so, but prices are a little expensive. The service was terrible. I asked if bubbles need additional charge, he said No. Actually, additional 50 cents and I realized it when I saw my receipt. When my order of two bubble teas were done, he left them on the table and went away to play his smart phone. When I asked for a bag, he just pointed the direction and said “there.” There were no other customers at all! I will never go back again.
I came in tonight at 9pm with a club of about 60 people, not realizing that King Fu Tea closes at 9. Instead of complaining, the workers served all of us, staying late to make sure we all got our orders. They did an awesome job and we were super grateful! Definitely a five star experience!!
Excellent boba tea. That said, while Ive been to other Kung Fu tea locations, this one is different in that its an on-campus option for students. I navigated there while on a trip in Buffalo, and there is really no great way to access it for non-students that I could see. There is no nearby (legal) parking and I ended up having my wife just drop me off while she drove around.

2022-03-18It was my first time trying out this place as I heard they had nice bubble tea. I was so excited! I came in and loved the décor. I ordered bubble tea and French fries. When my fries were done, they were placed on a counter from where you grab the straws and other related items. Being my first time, I didn’t know any better and I grabbed the item I purchased from a counter. An employee saw and ripped the tray of the French fries out of my hand and angrily told me not to do that as I grabbed it from the wrong counter. She then realized that it was mine and gave it back to me. I wish that I was told of this rule in a more polite manner and was treated with kindness. This is why I deducted two stars. The food was good and I will try again in the future. Customer service skills need to be improved upon. This encounter happened on 3/17/2022 in the afternoon.

2017-10-02Been coming here several times for a bubble tea fix or a quick bite. They offer a large selection of drinks and almost every time the bubbles are the right chewy texture as well! My favorite food here is the popcorn chicken which reminds me of some chicken I ate in a night market food stand in Taiwan. The interior can hold a sizable crowd, some booths can seat up to 6 or 7, and there are tables for smaller parties. If youre on campus and want milk tea, heres the place to go!

2017-07-18Pretty good. Might be the best milk tea in Buffalo, at least, its the best I have tasted in Buffalo. Fragrant and delicious. They also have a few delicious rice bowl dishes.

2019-12-06Ordered food with the apps. On the receipt, it showed #86, so when they called #86, I went to pick up my food. Then we realized the food is not what we ordered, so we got back and asked them about it. The server gave us a very annoying and impatient face, saying that “this is not your order” “did you open it?”...This is SUPER confusing and frustrating as they didn’t tell us that the number means; and if we order by app, we should ignore the number.Worse of all, that’s not what makes us feel very uncomfortable. It is the attitude of the server. It is not our fault. We do not deserve this terrible attitude?!We have been here many times. She is always there. Other people are nice and patient! Do not know what’s wrong with her. Ruined other people’s day.

2018-04-26Really friendly staff that can fit you with the right drink if you are new to bubbles tea. They also have Thai Tea which is wonderful. They said they have samples for a week because it is a new menu item. It tastes like what I would get from a Thai restaurant. The bubbles were nice and soft I think I got a fresh batch because they were warm and bouncy.

2021-08-16Price is aite. I still dont know why this location doesnt have milk cap as a topping. Taking out Hainanese chicken from the food menu is a big L for them cuz it is prob the best seller as I see lots of ppl get it.

2018-02-15Rice is always not well cooked. -A follow-up: the rice quality gets significant improved during my recent visits.

2017-11-13The interior design of this place is very modern and cute. they play good music in here. the staff is super friendly. i usually go here for bubble tea but recently one of my bubble tea did not taste how it normally does, i told one of the workers about it and without hesitation, he managed to make another, no questions asked and free of charge, and that one tasted even better! customer service is better than most places on campus. i love it here. :)

2018-04-01Tried this place with my friends not a while ago, very impressed with interior as it is very modern and extremely clean... also they always play great music. Since Im a huge fan of bubble tea, Im usually picky when I try a new place but I can say this with much ease , one of the best if not the best bubble teas ive had in a long time!!!!!. Ive been to many other places that serve bubble tea and Kung Fu Tea is my favorite. They do serve other foods, tried their popcorn chicken, it was okay but Im there solely for the tea so it didnt bother me at all.
