Very nice authentic Indian food, simple flavors, feels like home food grilled chicken. Quantity was little less as compared to the $7 chicken platter and other carts around it. Best is the green sumptuous chutney they put on the top, which gives you little bit flavor or spicy ness but not too spicy. Will definitely visit again to try there most famous lamb platter.
A gem in the corner of Ave of Americas and 45th street. The very best lamb period. I will be bold and say this: the taste of the lamb shrugs off any other cart by miles. The gentleman making the food is one of the most hygienic person I have seen running a cart. The lamb is not traditional gyro style lamb. They are small juicy pieces of lamb that has been marinated with spices and seared to perfection. The white sauce it comes it isnt traditional either. The white sauce is actually raita, the Indian varsion of white sauce that is made with quality yogurt. My wife who does not like lamb was regretting not ordering it after she had a bite from me.I hated driving to Manhattan from queens but this place made me go there couple of times since I had it ones and now I drive from Philadelphia to get this food. The tastiest food you will spend your $10 for.
Placed an order with uber eats and the food taste good enough but man was it greasy, I ordered a chicken gyro and a chicken kati roll and they both was dripping grease and they was doubled wrapped. Both item are basically the same, they just used different wraps but what really made me sad was the filling. They hardy put any veggies in them, they sprinkled some lettuce on it as if it was salt.
Decided to check this cart out after seeing it rated top 5 on some list. 100% overrated. While the real chunks of meat is great, he def does skimp on the quantity unlike what others have mentioned in the other reviews. Also the rice is super bland. I asked to make it spicy, he barely put any green sauce and completely left out the red HOT sauce. I would have asked for some but I didnt open it until I got home. Also he added a dollar, which I assume is some sort of cc fee, but failed to mention it before charging my card. definitely overpaid $11 for this platter. One of the best things about this cart is that the guy is super friendly. Kinda refreshing when 90% of other cart owners forgot how to smile.
Food is good but a bit overpriced now which I completely understand. But if your gonna raise the prices a lot at least keep the food the exact same quality including containers. The original big containers were great. Please bring back the same containers hence the 3 stars
Best cart in the city. The one up the street doesnt compare. Trust no imitators. Thank goodness hes back in action. I was a bit worried there. Very friendly chef and delicious food all around. I go with the combo but the Kati roll is fantastic and the chicken tikka masala is a fan favorite.
Ive been coming here for a while now. The food here is excellent. The quality and freshness rivals any restaurant. The owner and cook takes pride in his work and its expressed in the quality of his dishes. The service is quick and the cart itself is organized and clean. The meat combo contains real chunks of lamb (not gyro meat) and tandoori chicken. For $10 its well worth it
Its delicious, I like it so much, I go to buy one every week, but these two weeks, I eat it, I eat it a week later, I have diarrhea again, its exactly the same, I just eat a little bit, I want to eat the rest of it at home, and I get stomachache. Ill never buy it again.
Rana is a such a great guy. He was so welcoming, positive energy & made my food to perfection. We will def come back for more. This is by far the best food truck I’ve ever tried & i’m from NYC so coming from local, this is a great spot to grab & go! Decent price & portion as well.
I got the lamb + shrimp combo. The portions are generous; the lamb is tender & juicy, the shrimp is seasoned nicely and slightly charred but still plump and springy (just how I like it), the tzatziki sauce is creamy and the hot sauce (added on request) has just enough kick to it. The rice is cooked beautifully, nice bite and not soggy. The aroma of the spices fills the room with life. All that, and a affordable price.I am a few bites in and already made up my mind, this humble food cart serves up exceptional flavor. I look forward to stopping by again if I visit NYC in the future!
As good as I remember it. When I worked in Times Square I used to eat here daily. I had the Lamb over Rice which comes with a small salad and a yogurt based sauce which I wont attempt to spell and embarrass myself. The service was relatively quick as I lucked out and was the only one there. The Lamb was as succulent and tender as I remember it. If I didnt work so far away Id be here more often! Next time Im going to try the Tiger Shrimp my other go-to dish from Kwik Meal.
Simply the best and highest standard for the chicken and rice type of food. Its more than that, they have lamb, fish, seafood and falafel. The taste is beyond reproach. No other cart or franchises come close to this cart. Ive been going to this cart for 20 years. You are getting restaraunt quality food at street prices. The flavors and seasonings are the highest standard. I highly recommend the combo plater, it comes with lamb, chicken and two pieces of falafel. You get to try the best of what they offer.
Hands down the best chicken-rice cart in Manhattan, the halal guys have nothing on this guy. The aromatic basmati rice with the well cooked, tender chicken or/and lamb is awesome. The various chutneys are perfectly matches for the food they sell. The box is big, so the portion might look smaller than others, but its not. Convenient location and friendly people.
Good quality food! Clean, Fresh. Cost a tad more but you get better food and still way less than a restaurant. Lamb is actual Lamb and not processed mystery meat. The lamb is a bit too chewy though. If they had tender lamb and made a more quality salad (spinach, romaine instead of plain old lettuce), I wouldnt go anywhere else.
I am in USA for around 4 months. I was craving for Chicken Biryani which is one of my favorite dishes in Bangladesh. While travelling through NYC, I went there earlier today. When I had the first bite, it reminds me of my home. Everything was so on point (the spices, salads & the chicken). If you are from Bangladesh, you must try this Biryani. Those who are not, if you wanna try authentic Biryani, I will recommend you to try this. I do believe that you wont regret. This Biryani had just made my day. The price in reasonable and the service I got from them was way above my expectation. I will definitely come back soon to try this again.
We tried this on the first day at NYC for Lunch. Werent disappointed with the Veg Pita Roll with spicy sauce over it. It was cheesy..juicy.. and yummy. And for the price, its worth the shot. I am an Indian vegetarian and I liked the place. Yes this is on the way to Times Square Manhattan
The Kati rolls are everything you want. The paratha is buttery and flaky. You can taste the buttery goodness and with each bite, you can feel your arteries closing. Its so delicious. The lamb is beyond tender and so flavorful. You forget you are eating from a cart. Always ask for the green sauce, its spicy and brings these rolls to the next level. Service is always warm and friendly. Its a guilty pleasaure and they are always there.
This is as good as semi-traditional street meat gets. Non traditional would be your korean taco truck, lobster truck, or schnitzel truck for example. This is traditional in the sense that it is mostly meats over rice. Kwiks differentiation is his level of sophistication in the meats. My favorite is the lamb. It is real whole chunks of lamb. Name any other street meat cart and their lamb is the meatloaf version horizontally roasting on a spit. Kwiks lamb is cooked perfectly, juicy, great flavor... it has the robust taste of lamb shoulder chops, but none of the fat. His white sauce is divine, surely made with whole milk yogurt among other secret ingredients and his hot sauce is fairly mild, but packs flavor and saltiness. If you go here for the first time, get the lamb over rice. If you go here a second time, get the chicken over rice (significantly different than traditional chicken over rice). If you go here a third time, get the jumbo shrimp over rice.... yes, he serves fresh not-over-cooked shrimp in indian spices.
Its OK at best. The food is a little overpriced and the quality wasnt as good as I expected it to be. There was cartilage in my chicken which was pretty disappointing and stones in my rice. The service was reasonable. Overall, this place is a little overrated for its own good.

2022-01-26We were surprised by the quality and offerings at Kwik Meal NYC. For a cart to have actual lamb and not the processed gyro is just a delight to see, and the Desi infusion made it even better. The Lamb Kati Roll was like a delicious spicy taco, and the Chicken Lamb Shrimp Combo was light with taziki sauce on the side. The cook was friendly, the food was delicious and its instantly revisit worthy. Disclaimer: the cart next to Kwik Meal is not Halal and does not have fixed prices.

2022-03-07As a native New Yorker, halal carts have become a staple of my diet. Ive visited halal carts that are terrible, meh, okay, and unforgettable.Kwik Meal is unforgettable. Many halal carts can be forgettable, but the food and Kwik Meal is not one of them. Having actual chunks of lamb and not the processed stuff other carts have was a game-changer. Its hard to compete with a place with such excellent quality. One of the things that grabbed my attention was their menu. It has a nice aesthetic and has everything organized into neat little sections (Mini Eats, Sandwiches, Platters, Healthy Eats, etc.). You can get a lot of variety here.We came here as a large group and still received our orders quickly (hence Kwik Meal). This is one of the top halal carts in the city, and if I had to choose to come back to only one, it would be Kwik Meal.

2022-06-14I am currently a bit drunk and in line for a Kati Roll, as this stand is right outside my hotel. Last night, I enjoyed a chicken pita and it was phenomenal. Do yourself a favor AND GET THE HOT SAUCE TOO! It’s flavorful and not just hot for the sake of being hot. The food is great. Hot, fresh off the grill, no wonder it has stellar reviews. Love this little stall.

2022-06-25Surprisingly tasty meal. If you’re on the go, or just tired at the end of the night and looking for something casual then definitely head here. The kati rolls are exactly what you want them to be, the biryani are all filling and full of flavor. My favorite food cart in NY.

2022-07-22WORST HALAL CART! PLEASE DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY! First of all, For the food I ordered, the price on menu board said $11 but for some reason they charged me $13 (why overcharge a local? May they thought they could overcharge me thinking I was a tourist?) and second of all, the chicken was super bland and not tasty at all and the lamb was super super super chewy and overcooked! Regret spending here! Never going back for this kind of behavioural perception!!

2022-07-18Best cart in town! They use actual lamb instead of ground up lamb flakes! And the owner is just adorable! Always has a smile on his face!

2022-08-03I went to Kwik Meal today to get chicken over rice and falafel. I am sorry to say food was disgusting. Falafel was totally rotten and chicken did not have the same taste. When original owner, Rahman, was alive, he made sure food was fresh and testy. Please be respectful to Mr. Rahman, and maintain his legacy.
