My first time on this boat for a birthday gathering. The drinks were good but by the time I got my food it waa time to get off due to an hour ride. We wanted to pay the extra 10 to stay. But was told no due to heavy booking for the 8 pm sailing. Then the when paying the card machine broke in which we all had to come up with cash to pay for the drinks. I really liked to food however for the prices of tacos it wasnt worth it. Other than that it was nice
Beautiful views and nice people running the ship. The chips taste like cardboard and are not salty enough and the guacamole is also tasteless. The hibiscus and ginger margarita was also not good. Frozen margaritas were standard.I would have been happy to pay a little more for the boat to have good food! Maybe a partnership with a Mexican restaurant chain (Tacombi)? Just an idea.
So i came here on memorial day weekend on a rainy saturday. There are 3 floors on this boat. There are restrooms available in the boat. You can sit on the roof part of the boat or there are two indoor levels. My food came out super fast. For a party of two the total bill was $180. The prices for the portion sizes is why i dinged a star but the taste is there. I highly recommend the lobster tacos, skirt steak and pancheco or dmx taco those were the best. The beans was to salty. The rice cooked well. The pico de gallo and crema was delish. The chips and guac and shrimp tacos i would pass. The drinks we got on the pier were stronger than those on the boat so i recommend drinking those first while u wait to board the boat. Employees were friendly. Lots of tables available for big groups for birthdays and anniversaries. No live music but there was music playing in the background. No dance floor. Its only $10 to board the boat. You can park at pier 83 or spothero a spot nearby and walk. Its a short ride but your’e on the boat for 1 hour. Check the website for exact sail times.
It’s okay I took my 3 year old daughter she enjoyed it I just wish they had more food options in the menu they have more options in the alcohol area in the menu then the food it’s good for when you want to come with your friend and just drink it’s a $10 fee in the daytime
Food was horrible & way too pricey. Got the chicken tacos & they were super soggy & wet for some reason. No flavor to it. Then I ordered rice as well & it tasted straight out of the box & it was hard still. Drinks were mid. Service was good & the boat was nice but wasn’t worth the money at all. They need a new chef asap. Bill came out to $100 for 2 orders of tacos, a small rice & 2 drinks?????
The boat was prompt, ambiance was great. We were a very large group and there was a miscommunication about seating that was sorted out. Once the boat debarked, service was quick and our server Berenice was attentive. The drinks were disappointing, they didn’t live up to their descriptions and tasted suspiciously watered down, which led me to switch from frozen sangria to Modelo. My table mates had the same complaints with their sangrias, Aztec goddess, and the frozen drink that mixed sangria with margarita. The food was fresh, portion sizes were adequate. My other complaint is that I didn’t look closely at the bill to see that a 20% service charge was already included in our final total. There was also the usual 18/20/22% gratuity suggestions listed on the bottom of the bill which we used in calculating our tip. So our server got 40+% gratuity last night. For the prices charged for alcoholic beverages, I expect to actually taste the alcohol. I would still go back on the boat again, but I would stick to beer or wine, and just pay the total listed on the bill.
This place is very nice and clean the staff are super friendly, the food is good I thing they need more variety like seafood 🦞 or maybe some chefs Mexican food 🥘 the drinks are very reasonable and yummy ,the atmosphere is super nice, the music is good, we really enjoy a very good dinner with a beautiful sunset 🌅, just to see the city from the water was excellent, we enjoy it every minute.
This place is perfect for a short stop for a group of friends or a cute date night for couples to grab tapas and drinks. The boat ride is about 45minutes and it is quite shaky when the boat is docked but it gets a lot better once the boat takes off. The food came out faster than the reviews but drinks did take some time. I would recommend grabbing drinks at the bar instead of ordering through waiter if you dont want to wait.
Brunch buffet was overpriced for the kind of service received. Clumsy buffet lines which could have been alleviated if they had created two lines/areas instead of one. Too many items not available because the staff did not keep on top of replenishing the food as it was getting low. Unlimited mimosa’s was fine except they “ran out” of mimosas, which is ridiculous. I was served coffee that was cold. All in all, it seemed like too much work to get what you wanted or needed for the price. I would go back on the regular taco boat, as the food was good, but I would not go back for the brunch.
I had my 40th birthday celebration on Saturday and everything was absolutely SPECTACULAR Saturday. Everyone including the manager, bartenders to our servers were amazing and made my birthday so special. Our entire group had the best time and the views were just incredibly. Thank you for everything! I cant wait to go back.
Service is terrible. Waited 30+ minutes for a waiter to place an order. They forgot half the order. Brought the order out once the boat docked. To then be told by the manager who is extremely rude that we have 2 minutes to finish and get off because they have a business to run. The food is mediocre at best. Over priced, over cooked, under seasoned. You’re better of going to chipotle.
The experience and the staff were great. I thought since it was called “Barca Cantina”, I expected Mexican music or at least something Latin. They played rap music the majority of the time. I went to the first floor to politely ask the DJ if we could request a song, her response was “you can but I might not play it” and that she still had two hours which didn’t make a difference. She played 3 Spanish songs and back to rap music. I expected so much more since the name of the boat is “cantina” and it’s Mexican themed.
Great spot to hang out and catch a drink. WARNING: it is pricey but you are paying for ambience. The food is average and the drinks are pretty good. Overall the food serving portion are decent enough to not leave you hungry. Highly recommend coming during sunset but be prepared to make a line for the 6 or 7 sailing.Definitely returning ,note the sun is beaming on a clear day
Service was pretty bad. Our waiter was running around so we felt bad, but we waited 20 minutes for our drinks, then another 20 for our chips and guac (I think our order went to the table next to us that ordered after us) and the rest of our food. Chips and guac aren’t the best. Drinks are decent. We then ordered tres leches which is from la new yorkina. We waited 30 mins for it to come and it was premade in a plastic container, not sure why we had to wait so long. We really wanted to like it and excited for New York to have this concept, but think there needs to be some improvement to the food and service first. It was lovely to be on the water and they take you along the Hudson for a nice ride, though, so if you’re just going for drinks and a nice cruise, the atmosphere is nice.
Went here on 7/17/2022 Barca after Darka. Weather conditions were good. Sight seeing amazing! As far as the service goes not impressed. A group of us came for the Barca after Darca $35 reservation ticket with first come first pick to the seats warning. We were under the impression we were going to have a server but that wasnt the case, we had to make a line to order our food.Next surprise no Tacos on Sunday only from Mon-Sat. ThatWe had a limited selection of food Empanadas, Tamales, Aguachiles, Guacamole and Chips, and some other appetizers. No Tacos no other main dish. We paid over $120 just in food my boyfriend and I. Food did not make a statement that night.I would recommend you go somewhere else to eat before you join their Barca After Darka event 3hrs sailing.....Drinks as expected a bit pricey but overall good.Music that night was horrible! Various people kept going up to the Dj for music requests we requested Latin Music and Latin Music was only played for a combined time of 10 minutes the whole night.Bar Tenders are ok depends which one you get one charged us $14 for a cup of coke!!!I was not happy with food and music. Some staff had a look like they didnt want to be there. So I unfortunately will not be going here again. I saw a different cruise that night and I wish they couldve saved me that night from the horrible music and food!
An interesting outing for a group especially if they are from out of town. However Right off the back my night was ruined when we first boarded. I was in a large group and went downstairs to ask if we could sit in that area and I’m assuming a female manger with glasses and rbf looked me in the face and said “you have to go” I really thought she was joking. Turns out, she thought that my group were from the last boat group that should have been off the boat. Not sure how she figured we would have snuck and stayed on but regardless, with out clarifying, she was super rude and made no apology at her mistake. So even if this was an acutely 5 star experience; she made it a 1. Staff and servers were great.
I really enjoyed La Barca Cantina. The food and drinks are more like 3 stars but the experience made it 4. Getting to boat ride around Manhattan was fun and the inside of the boat was really nice too! Comfy booth seating everywhere. We did the 8pm seating and they didnt rush us out at the end at all so we got to sit at the dock for a while afterwards too. The cruising is one hour.
La barca after darka was a HUGE disappointment. Be aware there are no tacos, burrito or quesadillas served at this event, only appetizers such as empanadas, chips & guap with dips which is way overpriced. Drinks are worth it. The dj and music was horrible & the majority of her picks was hardcore rap mixed with only a lil dancing music. The majority of people on boat were beautiful and ready to dance including my group of 6 love to dance but its sad just sitting around looking at eachother confused shaking our heads. I wouldnt recommend event. Thanks
Pros:Nice boatOur bartender Eitan did his best to help usCons:FOOD- We went for La Barca After Darca. It was advertised as good available for purchase. We waited on a line for FOURTY FIVE MINUTES for unflavored, stale, overpriced food. The empanadas w dry ($8 for one), the tamales were so dry everyone in my group hated them ($9), the guac ($12) NO FLAVOR. Then we had to wait 15 minutes to get our cards back after paying because the system of receiving your card back was so unorganized. It would make so much more sense for food to be included in the ticket price and them to hand the food out. We wasted an hour of the 3hr cruise waiting on line.MUSIC- Worst DJ ever. After darka was advertised as spinning “Latin, pop, disco, funk, deep house, hip hop…”. Except the DJ spent the WHOLE night playing 90s throwbacks, 80s throwbacks, disco and a total of like 4 Spanish songs. No latin, no reggaeton. The crowd went wild for one Latino song and she didn’t care. She played whatever she felt like playing. She said NO REQUESTS!!.BAR- Eitan was the best. Yet, they did not have enough bartenders working that night at alllll. Ex: the bottom floor has two bartenders in the front of the boat. I waited 15 minutes to be acknowledged to even get our first round. Anytime we wanted another round, it was another wait. Again- out of his control, it was so crowded he was helping others. All in all, waste of your time. Try another party boat.
The service was horrible. Took an hour and a half to get one drink. The manager was rude when we had to ask for our drinks. The food was mediocre. The only thing good about this place was the Statue of Liberty. This place is Overpriced and overrated. No one should spend their money here
I was there yesterday. What can i say?… to start of theres was no tacos of any sort, only empanadas, tamales and chips with guac and honestly it tasted like school lunch. The BEST thing to be honest were the drinks. When you think of a mexican themed restaurant what type of music do you think they will play? Mexican, MAYBE some Spanish or Salsa? NOPE! They played old-school hip hop so much that they had people doing the running man. I went to request some spanish music to the dj and she shut me down by yelling over the microphone “no request!”. Im guessing i wasnt the only one reminding her that it was a mexican themed restaurant. Oh and also 2 empanadas and chips and guac $30?!!!!!. Just remember that your only going for the scenery and NOT the quality of food
Be very careful when paying, try to carry cash because if you leave the card you will be charged several times the payment.the food is good, but they serve very little and it is not worth what it costs. The waiters are very distracted and they forget about the tables and you wait a lot
Really nice atmosphere. Staff was nice and attentive. Boat is spacious and clean. The reason Im giving 4 stars is because the loaded impossible burger nachos(20$) were not that great, impossible burger didnt have any taste. the margarita both frozen and on the rocks was not strong at all ,for 16 bucks I expect a better made drink than that. The tacos were very good though. Both food and drinks are too overpriced for my liking but I guess you also pay for the view. 3 Lobster tacos were $30 and 3 shrimp tacos were $24. It was a beautiful night and definitely memorable but one time is good enough for me.
Was recommended by sis in law for a birthday weekend for my husband and it was the best recommendation. It was our first time there but the host greeted us at the entrance and made us feel so welcomed and then the party began!! We sailed 30 minutes out and 30 minutes back which felt a little quick but the host told us once we board we can continue sailing for the rest of the day which was awesome and we did. We only stuck to coronas so didnt get to try any drinks but the tacos was fabulous and tasty. My husband ate about 8 of them. We spent a decent amount of money but it was definitely worth it for the amazing time we had. Definitely cant wait to go back and bring the kids and family with us. Definitely a good place to just get away, hang out, and enjoy your time for a couple of hours.
Great food, drinks are reasonably priced. Was expecting Poor service based on the reviews but the food came out very quickly and multiple servers came by to check on us throughout our experience. Pretty cool you get to stay on after the tour is complete until you want to get off the boat. Will be back!
We were a party of four. The appetizers were better than the actual meal. As for the tacos, they were all very bland, not much flavor to them and not spicy as per the menu. We had the skirt steak, the pork, the shrimp and the lobster. The lobster taco was just fine because you cant go wrong with lobster. As we set sail, most of the items on our table did end up on the floor. Thankfully there was a border or else my cell phone would have went over board. We appreciated that we were allowed to hang out on the boat for as long as we wanted to on the lower decks once our meal session was over. But because of bad weather we left after we ate.As for the views, the environment, and the experience of dining on the boat, that we enjoyed.
Obviously there is an understanding that its going to be expensive since youre really paying for the ambiance, but horrendously slow service is still shocking. The boat wasnt even at full capacity (maybe due to Covid, but then waiting staff should adjusted according to demand, since they literally know exactly how many tickets are sold). Just to pour a round of shots took over 30 min. Drinks and food took decently long. Way too short of a trip on the water and of course theres no announcement of when were turning back to dock. To top off the terrible experience, the Manager was pretty rude as well. Of course at the end of the slotted time, he literally told us to get off the boat if youre not buying drinks, even though some of us still were finishing drinks in our hand.If you want a decent experience, just get drinks from the bar and no food. At least you wont be waiting endlessly and can actually enjoy the boat ride views.
We went on the 6pm taco boat sail tonight. After reading the reviews, my expectations regarding the food and service were LOW! We immediately said we did not want to be at a table served by Luis.Well I have to say, they really have figured it out!! :-)We ordered a bunch of tacos, sweet plantains and a frozen margarita to split (sooo overpriced and weak). The food came out in the blink of an eye. And was very tasty and fresh to boot. The ride on the Hudson was beautiful and relaxing. The service was really good, and the wait-staff were all super friendly—with Alex and his warm demeanor at the helm.Great evening! :-) highly recommend!
The service was horrible! Our waiter kept forgetting about us and our orders. We had to keep reminding him (Luis) of things we ordered, he made excuses for it, and everything magically appeared. He took no accountability. One of the managers who were super friendly, however, it was a disguise. He was actually partially drunk. Now the food finally came out, and it was cold! It would Have been a lot more delicious if it came Out on time and warm. They made a huge announcement that the boat cannot sail because of the wind, however, it took Off without any communication. Fine! Beautiful scenery, however, our server was still slacking. Now that we paid and ready to get off the boat, we couldn’t. They said that they made an announcement but WE NEVER HEARD IT! The music continuedTo play and we never heard anything. Even the super friendly manager admitted to not hearing anything. I would recommend this place for the views. Other than that, expect to be waiting a while for your food, eating cold food, hearing excuses being made and being stuck on a boat for hours!
Went on Saturday to the 4pm boat ride. Food wasnt what we expected. Chips were stale. Guacamole had no flavor we had to ask for salt (the waiter said other people were asking for salt as well) I asked for a sample of a drink before I purchased it and they gave us a hard time until finally the manager said ok reluctantly) my steak tacos had this red sauce on it that was smothered on. And when we asked if we can just get it on the side he said that couldn’t be done. Telling us it’s mixed with the meat, but it wasn’t because the meat on the bottom had no sauce on it. Boat ride was short. Overall not an enjoyable experience. Never again! Don’t waste your money or time.
If you are looking for great NYC views, this is not the best option. The trip was very short and doesn’t cover much. This is first come first serve and if you are not on the boat before the staff is ready to go you will get left out!Service is awesome and so are the drinks.I did not enjoy the music since it was far from what you expect at a Mexican restaurant I get it, it’s not authentic.Wouldn’t go back, there are better rides for city views and better restaurants for Mexican food.
Too good to be true. Terrible service, drinks took 20 minutes, food took another 30 minutes, dessert took 20-30 mins and was served in plastic container. Other reviews on here seem to say the same thing. It’s like we were forgotten about or ignored most of the evening, and then it was time to get off. Then one of maybe the owners was snippy to us about letting people on the boat first when we were trying to get off. We are only as good as their next paying customer I guess. Tacos were good, but everything else was meh. Maybe there is potential here, but they have a lot of work to do.
There is nothing better than a boat ride on a hot Sunday in NYC! We had originally planned to arrive at 3 but were very early and able to board the boat by 2:00pm after a short wait on line. We got a great seat on the outdoor deck and our waiter came right away drop off our menus and take our drink order. The frozen sangria was perfection and we ordered the quac and chips, shrimp tacos and cheese Quesada, all were delish! We also decided to get the frozen sangria mixed with a frozen margarita in the souvenir lighthouse cup, (which lights up by the way) so fun! The boat sails for an hour, than docks for an hour, and you can stay on as long as you want. We were on from 2-6, and had a blast. All of the waiters were so nice, and the manager was hysterical, and came by quite a few times to ensure all was good. After we ate we ordered a bottle of sparking spanish wine and just enjoyed the atmosphere, the sun, water, music, it was a perfect Sunday. While our service was great, I do see the other reviews where perhaps the service was not up to par, but keep in mind they only opened on May 21st, and I am sure the staff were just getting up to speed. The day we were there I was impressed at how hard the wait staff were working, as I mentioned it was super hot, and they were all running around like crazy. From what I saw everyone was having a great time, and I didnt hear any complaints. I will be going back for sure, this is going to be summer staple. I highly recommend.
I don’t make reviews, I don’t like to but this experience and how overrated this floating restaurant is has made me write this. Wish I could give 0 stars! Not an authentic Mexican spotWater down drinks (Could not even taste the alcohol in them.)Outdated & dirty furnitureOverrated & high prices for portions$17 for 2 tacos & $24 for 3!!!!! I CAN GET SAME PORTIONS OF FOOD @ ROOSEVELT AVE TRUCKS $6 for 3 TACOS!!!Money isnt the issue on this review, is the overrated promotions & PRICE GAUGING they do!!!!!!The sailing views and service provided by the waiter, MARCUS, were great. Very good waiter and attentive. Only two things that deserve 5 stars.
Just missed the boat. The ramp was till connected. I told the security guy all my friends were already there and there were train delays, even though the guys up in the boat were waiting to let me in. The guy down on the parking lot. Didnt. If I was really late and the ramp was already disconnected I wouldve understood but this wasnt the case. Bad costumer service.------updated review------thank guest relations Director, Robert, for reaching out and help us turning a bad experience around. I am glad this company still have employees who really care about their customers. Thanks again.
The food was horrible. Only the chips and guacamole was good. The drinks were not so great. I also felt rushed by the waiter who looked lost the entire time. Also, he ruined the surprise birthday cake. The nerve to ask me if I was happy (sarcastically) when he brought the onions and cilantro I requested for my very plain taco. Never again!
Went with sisters. Do yourself a favor and order a pitcher of whatever from the get-go ($60) vs individual drinks ($17+ ea). The queso fundido is really good, guac and chips with fresh guac, the tacos are so good and spicy. The boat ride is one hour but you can stay as long as you like (as long as it isnt crowded in which case they sit you at the bar). Music is cool, Eduardo came to talk to us and he was super cool and nice. I really like the vibe.
The most off-putting thing was how gross the womens bathroom was, and it was also totally out of paper towels (no hand dryer either). The queso was incredibly greasy, also a little weird they had Impossible meat available for nachos but not as an option for tacos. The only vegan option (mushrooms tacos) was bland with no seasoning. The boat experience was nice, but the whole experience with the food and service overall was very meh. Definitely wouldnt go back again.
One of the most disappointing experiences. We got in the line for the 8 pm sail tour at 7.30 pm and still never made it to the boat. The management let their acquaintances board before everyone waiting in the line for more than 30 minutes and then told everyone else that the boat was at capacity. Some of the people in line came all the way from NJ for this experience and were rightly furious. The management gave us a coupon for a free drink and promised us money back but still had no explanation as to why were people not allowed to board when their other acquaintances got in even though they came very late.
I went to the Barca after Darka on 08/19/2021 and it was a bad experience overall. The frozen margaritas were sour, they taste like a frozen kid’s lemonade. The music was awful, DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU WANT TO DANCE. They don’t play bachata or reggae or reggaeton, they don’t even play the top 100 songs. So if you like to dance save your money and your time. They played good music the last 10 minutes of the experience but the whole time I felt like I was on Footloose. Please don’t own something if you cannot cater to its authenticity and respect it’s culture 🙄 owning something that’s “Mexican” but only playing house music is disrespectful.
I am going to start of saying that this is the worst boat restaurant that I have been. First-time and last time there. The drinks were horrible, the food even worst. They dont know what they are doing. We were a group of 14 people and all of of were disappointed 😞. The waitress didnt know how to handle a big group. Please dont go there because you going to waist your money and time.
If you’re looking for something low key and fun to do definitely check La Barca out. You’re able to board the boat, get settled, order food and drinks all before it sets sail. The boat runs along the Hudson for about an hour, giving great city views. Fun vibe, variety of drinks, tacos and appetizers. Similar to the North River Lobster Co. boat experience - both a good time.
We loved this experience, and well do it again. We had some lovely views along with tasty food. Our server( Manuel P )was beyond entusiasct. He gave us food suggestions and made this experience even more enjoyable. The overall experience was four starts, but Manuels service made it 5 stars.
Horrible experience. Limited food. They only had empanadas and chips and guacamole. Limited alcohol...I asked for an amaretto sour and was told they didnt have it. In one bar they had Hennessy but, not in the other. Our chips and guacamole got stolen when we got up to buy drinks. It was a bad experience for us. Never again.
The worst dining experience i have ever had… drinks were brought with no straws.. waited 20 mins for straws. Frozen margaritas were all liquid by the time we got straws, plates were dirty, tables are not cleaned after cruise for the new guests, only was able to order guacamole. Our waiter Louis never came back to take our order.. louis took our chips when we were not looking.. literally went this entire cruise with no food.. had to go to an actual restaurant after..my bill came to $86 for 4 drinks guac and no dinner…After the cruise was over the waiter had the nerve to come up to my table and say you guys are welcome to stay but you need to go to the bottom of the boat because there new guests coming on.. WE NEVER GOT ANY FOOD!!!! You guys should be ashamed of yourself.. never coming back to this place ever again.. such a rip off and id like my money back. DO NOT PAY FOR THIS RIP OFF SCAM DINNER CRUISE
I read all the reviews before going there but I can tell my experience was amazing I did enjoy it, I loved my drinks, I loved the views during the ride, the staff was very attentive and friendly they were working all over the place, food was ok.:. I think they can do better but everything takes time... is because the food I don’t give de 5 stars ⭐️. Is a nice experience you must go and enjoy
I was on your boat yesterday with a party of 7 to celebrate my wifes birthday when the service that was giving to us was not that good we had ordered the entry only and by the time we was offered to make the orders for the main course we all made the order and then a few minutes later we was told the kitchen was closed. Im very disappointed with the service I was given and Embarrassed because I was the one to invite everyone that was with me and wanted them to eat at your place. I know you have spoken to some of my guest and they told me you had ask us to come back in for some shots but I was so disappointed I did want to go back in. I just wanted for my guest to enjoy themselves.
The worst experience in dining ever! The staff just didn’t seem to care about the customers. The food we ordered never arrived! There was no effort to make up for the terrible experience they put us through. We waited for an hour and a half, just for the waitress to come and ask us if we wanted to cancel the order.
Food wasn’t good drinks was water down dinner came before appetizer and poor customer service , no utensils were given drinks were 15 dollars for a mason jar size or 15 dollars for a smaller amount the view was only thing worth wild but the boat only took you three - four block down and back up if your looking for real Mexican food this is not the place you
The sailing experience is nice. You get to chose to sit outdoors or indoors. During the day its an hour ride. The food was good. However, I get that $10 gets you a ticket on the boat but the food is wildly expensive. $18 for 2 tacos! Drinks were delicious as well. But these prices are extreme.
Boat interior was nice, food was tasty, mimosas were ok, I preferred the Bellini. The cons for me was the miscommunication amongst the staff. To begin with, 2 members of our group arrived and they sat on the upper level because they said there was no waiter to serve drinks downstairs which was no problem for us. They said if it was ok, we would just have to get up to the bar. We decided to sit downstairs because the space was better for our group size. As advised we went to the bar for our mimosas. However, one of the staff told us to sit and that she would come by with the mimosas and Bellinis. She said we should just get up for other drinks at the bar but not the ones included in the brunch. We listened and we sat down. She never came by nor did anyone else so we decided to go back to the bar for our mimosas. Similar issue happened with the food. Someone told us to get in line and the other told us to sit and that we would be called. We sat and then they told us to get in line lol
Last night I decided to surprise my husband and take him on the Barca After Darka, since we are going to Mexico in 2 weeks, I wanted him to have a taste of what it might be like. Unfortunately it was nothing like I expected. I was under the impression that dinner was available with a variety of selection, but instead they had empanadas and Tomales. On their website they have to explain more as to what is really the barca after dark. I thought that we are going to eat tacos, and other selection that was actually on the menue that they have posted on their website. We were not happy at all and also found it to be a big waste of money. When the food is amazing and the drinks too my husband and I dont mind spending money at all. But unfortunately that was not the case last night. On the web page it is marketed like an amazing party boat with great Mexican food and great music. Last night it was nothing like they Market on their web page. FALSE ADVERTISING!!!!! The only good thing I can say about the Barca After Darka was the view and drinks.
That boat is rubbish, they sell you the advertising that it is a restaurant, and what is my surprise that they do not only sell alcoholic beverages and you have to stop at the bar and make a long line to get a drink, and everything is expensive. There are no waiters, no food, and the tables and chairs are not enough for everyone.

2022-06-14Went into this with no expectations. A taco boat sounded strange but it was something to do hanging out with my friends and family. Little did I know, this would be one of my favorite experiences of my life. The boat was so nicely decorated. We sat at the top deck and the view was amazing! We did the sunset hours and the skyline was undescribably beautiful. The whole thing was just breathtaking. What an experience it was. For anyone visiting New York City, this is a perfect little adventure. It was so cost effective, the food was done to perfection. My drink was so delicious and strong. Shout out to our server Eric, his service was above and beyond and I thank him for that. The only thing that could be better is if there was a DJ. Loved it and I cant wait to go back!

2022-06-154 stars for the ambiance. We were ignored for almost a half hour when we were seated. Everyone around us was served food ( and some came after us) before we were even greeted. Finally grabbed a manager (maybe) who didnt even care and finally send someone over 10 minutes later.I mentioned that it was my daughters bday and they didnt acknowledge. Wouldnt have been a big deal but they made huge comotion about the girls birthday right next to us.There was 4 of us and ordered one bucket of corona,an app, dinners and dessert. Total cost was $400. 2022-07-06Great experience! We went for a sunset cruise and we had so much fun! Unfortunately drinks that we got weren’t the best, they were strong but had no flavor. Also they were a bit overpriced.

2022-06-01This boat is huuuge! Love the vibe, the music, loooved the nachos but the meat(ground beef in it) should get cooked a little more cause it looked like it was taken out of the skillet after 1 minute and did not taste so good. Great amount of meat on the lamb tacos. $36 for 6 beers(cubetazo) is great just like everywhere else. ❤

2021-07-11The best lobster tacos I’ve had in a long time. The guacamole was amazing, so fresh and creamy. The drinks were great also. Staff were super friendly, courteous, attentive and always smiling. Excellent service with great views of the city. Definitely coming back before the summer ends!

2021-09-27My boyfriend found La Barca Cantina on TikTok. It is located on Pier 81. You need to book a ticket ($10 per person) on their website prior to boarding the boat. They will require you to show your COVID-19 vaccination and ID matching the vaccination card. After boarding the boat, you can choose where you would like to be seated. We chose to sit on the lower deck since it was evening time. We ordered the grouper ceviche ($17), 3 north river lobster tacos ($30), truffle esquites ($12), frozen remolino ($16), and tres leches cake ($10). Since there were no pictures on the menu, I referred to Yelp for inspiration. The north river lobster tacos was the only hot dish. There was an abundant amount of lobster in each taco. It tasted very fresh and sweet. The truffle esquites is a bowl of corn with truffle oil, cotija cheese, mayo and a slice of lime. We were actually expecting this to be hot since the picture looked like it was made of cast iron. The truffle flavor was very apparent and it was scrumptious! The grouper ceviche was pretty chewy. The acidic sauce that the ceviche came in masked the fishy taste. This dish was cold. The tres leches cake was not bad and had a great presentation. The remolino was a decent size drink with a swirl of frozen margarita and frozen sangria.I will be back to catch the earlier boarding to catch the sunset with some lobster tacos!

2022-07-23Amazing cruise along the Hudson to get closer to the Statue of Liberty no doubt but BOTH the music and food suck. Their ridiculously overpriced tacos are bland and drier than the Sahara desert. Forget about asking for a even a regular salsa cause its non existent. The waiters said it. Wanna feel some mixture of Latin music like salsa, reggaeton or cumbia? Not gonna happen either.Best recommendation: Go here for the cruise not for their food and music.

2021-09-05Went out on a Warm Thursday night 10pm-1am. Fun to cruise the Hudson River down by the Statue of Liberty and back. Nice views! Lost of large groups! Vaccination proof required. 4 stars because getting first drinks took longer than it should have taken. Pro tip- get a bucket!

2022-05-21Stunning views! An amazing way to enjoy the weather and delicious food. The corn dish was too die for! Great guacamole too. The tacos were just okay. Delicious friendly and helpful servers! Definitely take (and maybe bring extra) dramamine if youre prone to motion sickness. I took 3 and was still beyond relieved to hear we had docked and I could get off, but I still loved the experience and would do it again!

We had dinner on the floor yahni was the server he was so polite and fast. We had drinks and finish the night on the second floor where berenice was so nice. For sure will be visiting on the near future thank you Eduardo.
