LA Fitness in other cities:
Front desk staff is always greeting me with a warm smile…overall everyone that works there seems very friendly, plus I don’t feel that overwhelmed coming in to workout! (The meal replacement protein shakes are always satisfying to have after a work out…. Definitely recommend the peanut butter pump…if you’re not allergic to peanuts)
I first met Sarah at LA Fitness in Commack. After speaking to her for a few minutes, it was evident that she was extremely knowledgeable, caring & driven to succeed. Few months later popped into this Levittown location and saw her here as a brand new general manager. I’m sure the rest of the staff are great people however, Sarah is exceptional! If you want top quality sincere service I suggest you speak with her.
Just came in to cancel my gym membership because I am moving out of New York. I have always been weary of gym cancellation processes because I was a member of crunch and they charged me a $99 cancellation fee. I spoke with the manager Nick and he made it super easy took less then a minute and didn’t cost anything to cancel.
It seems like every machine in the gym is broken or is on the verge of malfunction. Someone is going to get seriously injured using these broken machines. They charged me the yearly maintenance fee, but they clearly arent maintaining the machines. Im willing to change this review to a positive one when they earn it by maintaining the machines.
Called to cancel and they said I would need to come in Monday - Friday between 9 and 6 to speak with the club manager. They indicated there was no other way to cancel. So I called a neighboring club (who was much friendlier all around) and they sent me some cancellation instructions via email so that I did not have to come in. Im sure they could have done this as well, but they would rather be inconvenient. What if I didnt have availability Monday through Friday during those hours? What if I was no longer in the area? No options were made available.
Compared to the other locations, the levittown location is sub-par. Everyone is on top of each other. The turf there is pointless. The sled is broken (they said a month ago it was going to be fixed/replaced) and majority of the cardio machines are broken. Tbh go to the farmingdale location. Things are a little more spread out, and nothing is broken.
I’m not sure if this place is going out of business soon or what’s happening but for the past year the equipment is always broken and things just don’t seem to get repaired. Its only been getting worse too with the number of machines down or breaking. The other night a guest got hurt because a machine broke while he was using it. Go to farmingdale, it’s managed must better or at least they repair and service their equipment.
Based on reviews I feel some are exaggerated but also almost all make sense. I’ve been coming to Levittown for years. Does it have its negatives? Yes, all gyms do. The air has been hot, and machines have been out. However, the staff, and cleanliness of the gym has exceeded my expectations since being back from the virus. I’ve even seen this gyms dumbbell rack has gotten significantly better as well as their turf! Somethings changed and it seems for the better. Even the manager (i believe he is) himself will come back to rack the weights himself as well! Overall, most of these reviews are accurate. Aside from minor issues, this gym seems to be headed in the right direction.
Great service overall. I walked into the club for specific membership help, David the clubs sales manager came along and was super friendly. Then I was told to speak to Nick from Operations who was also very helpful from the start. From the beginning it seemed he was efficient and quick to get what needed to be done for my membership service issues. Great staff work overall! Super friendly
Today was my first time in this location and I was really impressed with how nice and clean it was. The front desk staff was welcoming and the club manager went out of his way to show me around. The club has everything… Free weights, cardio machines, cycling studio, basketball court, sauna, hot tube, pool, classes, and much more. I will be back soon, thank you guys!
Levittown / Bethpage LA Fitness may not be perfect but its certainly better than the miss-managed disaster at Garden City...Staff has been great and members pretty darn friendly - certainly not the same toxic - workout inhibitting nonsense at GC...a few minor gripes:need bigger signs and staff reminding members to rerack their weights and rerack cleanup folks from time to time walking through - the empty drink bottles and weights are a tripping hazard for sure - would be useful if folks restocked the papertown dispensers in the mens locker-room more frequently as well
I’ve been going to this gym for a few years now. I’ve seen it then and I’ve seen it now. Remodel is great. They have new areas for fitness and I love the rubber platforms they added. They have everything you need to get a good workout. Social distancing is pretty much none existent and at this point. I’ve gotten fatigued from it. Most people wear their masks properly but there are a handful nincompoops out there. They have wipes and spray but not everyone does it.Would I recommend this gym? For me, yes because they have the equipment I need and it’s less than 5 minutes out. There are a things that can be improved but I can tolerate them.
Great remodel, provides several options with a fair amount of equipment options. Can get busy though.Update 3/12/22Its a shame what this gym has become in 2 yrs time. The lack of staffing shows in the lack up general up keep. The mens bathroom has 3 stalls 2 of which where closed and the 3rd didnt even have toilet paper. The spin bikes several peddles are broken and dont clip in . Will be going to other locations going forward.
Update 11/12: This problem has been fixed :) I enjoy working out here again. The heat is on full blast in here. Clearly Im not the only one complaining about this. Its even worse to those who still wear a mask. Ive complained at the counter about 3 or 4 times and nothing is being done to fix this. I used to love coming here and my trainer is awesome but I cant tolerate being in here anymore.
Update: The problem has been fixed. Thank you!!!!The heat in the gym is OUTRAGEOUS. It is extremely humid and hot in the weightlifting area, and management does not care. I have asked them to turn the heat off until it is actually cold outside, but they said corporate controls the thermostat. They are going to wait until someone faints and hurts themself and a lawsuit occurs before they do anything.
One of the best gyms if not the best gym on the island. The janitors keep the place well kept and tidy. The staff is beyond friendly and helpful. They do a great job of enforcing COVID guidelines and making sure that everyone is working out safely. Managers Allison and Ashley keep the place running smooth and efficiently. Any questions you have dont hesitate to go to them. They wont stop until a solution is found. If youre looking for a gym to workout, the LA Fitness location is the place to be.
I love going to Levittown La fitness. Its always clean and staff is very friendly and courteous. In particular I want to say that assistant manger Allison Hernandez is very nice. she is so honest, down to earth and very kind person. she helped my with my sons gym membership and answered and helped me with all my concerns and found me the best membership for the price I can afford. I felt very comfortable taking to her. Please see her if you want to sign up for the gym membership. I highly recommend her.
Not sure when some of these photos were taken. But this was taken in November of this year (2021) the gym has been exceptional over the past year. Depending on the time you go, it can really be a great workout. Staff is nice and attentive, overall great experience here.
If i could give just the trainers a review I would give them a 5 however the front desk and customer service in this location is absolutely HORRIBLE! Ive been a member at this location for years but yesterday was the last straw. I called yesterday and the man that answered the phone hung up on me! Yes thats right hung up on me because I actually asked questions pertaining to his responses (which by the way were rude). I just dont understand this gym and how they dont train people for customer service, being polite, PROFESSIONAL. I wouldnt recommend this gym at all.
Horrible! As local COVID restrictions ease up, this gym is tightening their restrictions even further. Several facilities in the gym are closed, yet the membership price remains the same. Water fountain was broken for weeks. Incline benchpress is still broken. Basketball courts closed, despite other gyms such as Lifetime and Xsport having their courts open. Pool closed. Packed all the time. Management is rude and strangely aggressive.
One of the worst gyms in Long Island. Machines are broken and never fixed, pools have been closed for months, and the bathrooms don’t even have soap. Basketballs hoops were open for a day however the very next day they zipped the nets and weren’t allowing people to play for “covid reasons”. This makes no sense when most people have been vaccinated and are allowed to roam around with no mask. Don’t go here.
I have been a member at this LA fitness since 2016 and their customer service is terrible. The upkeep of the place is just as terrible. All the reviews on this page are correct. I dont remember the last time I went and there was toilet tissue in the bathroom. The people at the front just talk and ignore you when you come in. I literally stood at the front desk for 7 minutes (yes I timed it) while two workers were laughing and chatting before they stopped to ask, how they can help me.They dont value loyal members and didnt even care that I was canceling my plan. I am very surprised corporate hasnt stepped in to fix all the complaints. One person nailed it in their review, when you first join they bend over backwards to accommodate all your requests then once they have you, they dont care about retaining you as a member. They only care about their acquisition numbers and dont care about their retention numbers. Its really unfortunate because we wouldve loved to remain as members but now we will have to look for other places. I wish a Lifetime Fitness opened up near here as I would join that gym. Its more money, but I pay $60/month with this gym for no supplies, rude customer service, and unsanitary equipment.
Being at this club was amazing. Everyone was friendly and easy to access when it comes to customer service. All the staff on hand were really nice and genuine when entering and leaving. They made sure all stations and locker rooms were clean and sanitized throughout the time I spent working out. Veryyy Good Experience and recommend others to join this locations .
It can be a little crowded at times. Which is both good and bad. Covid makes it bad obviously. But most people are very good about wiping down equipment after they use it . No one is obnoxious. And as a newbie in a gym, I dont feel uncomfortable. Theres a lot of variety in equipment so easy to find the ones that work for you. Sadly, the classes are cancelled until further notice here due to the floor in that room needing a replacement.
My gym of 7 years closed due to covid. I came here as its the next closest gym. Mistake. This one isnt vacuumed, or upkept very well. Very crowded unless you go early AM. Only one of three sinks works in a busy mens restroom. Going to check out the garden city/ Farmingdale location.
I toured the Levittown, NY facility. The equipment was excellent, but this is obviously a poorly managed operations. I counted five members with their masks pulled down , and one without a mask. The tour guide asked one to fix his, and a few minutes later , it was down. Weights & other items were all over the floor. Ill stay at Planet Fitness.
Allison was so helpful! She gave us a warm welcome and a tour of the beautiful facility! They really did a great job on the remodel! I’m so excited to start my fitness journey with la fitness! Plus the January rates are fantastic! I will be recommending all my friends and family to come down and see the club! Ask for Allison! She was a pleasure to work with! (:
Been a member of this facility for a while now and over the past couple of months have definitely improved with cleanliness and overall customer service. From my understanding there’s new managers; Brandon has been doing a phenomenal job with the facility, and the front desk staff, such as Brooke and Amanda are very friendly. I would 100% recommend coming in and meeting with Brandon and getting a membership!
This has to be one of the better LA Fitness locations on Long Island. Great, caring and proactive staff that really make an effort at the front desk entry - special mention and thank you to the really nice Manager Allison and her team of Tito, Tarik, Cody and Sami. The equipment is good and ample for a full body workout with a nice free weight section. The new COVID hours after the 5 plus month closure are 6 am - 8 pm M-F and 8 am- 5 pm on the weekend. The old basketball court now has abdominal equipment and mats.Like the constant cleaning and the staff being on top of the COVID precautions and care with ensuring all members have masks over their noses and mouths all the time plus ample equipment cleaning supplies spread throughout the gym. This gym is conveniently located on the north side of Hempstead Tpke in the Nassau Mall with BJ’s and Best Buy.
This gym suites my needs. Fortunately my membership of several years has been seamless & I like the fact that Im not locked into contract & can quit at any time. I agree with others re the lack of bathroom supplies of toilet paper & soap. One stall will have 2 big rolls of t.p, another none; Ive learned to check, first. I heard they dont have cleaning staff on weekends; regardless this is unacceptable. I also find another reviewers complaint, that the handicapped stall had been out of use for several months, unacceptable. Some simple changes could go a long way. I hope this gym steps up their game because Id like to continue to use this facility. The equipment is acceptable & the classes have been reliable. The clientele is ok, too. A good mix of ppl from all walks & ages. Im able to get in & do my thing without issue & eventually find that one soap dispenser. However I dont use the free weights, so I cant comment on that.
From the moment I walked in I was treated like one of the LA fam.I switched from another gym and when I started at LA, I knew I wouldnt go anywhere else! Not only is the gym itself a good facility, but the people make the gym.Allison, Junior, and Brandon(until about a week ago when he was moved to N.Babylon) have all gone out of their way to check in with me and make sure my daily experience is great.5 stars for such a great team!
This is one of the newest la fitness gyms and theyre the worst run I have ever seen. Weights are never put back. 3 weeks ago there was no soap or towels for at least 3 days. And Ive never had a good experience with customer service when it comes to billing issues this going on 5 months and still not resolved and a gentleman at the front desk told me that they dont even have management right now which isnt a surprise. The only good thing about Levittown is Steve the pool guy who takes better care of the pool and hot tub than anywhere else Ive ever seen. Do yourself a favor and spend your money elsewhere
I’ve been a member since the old Bally’s was taken over by LA Fitness and I’ve seen it ALL. In the past few months, with the new manager Ashley, it’s like the place has done a complete 180! Obviously, no gym is 100% perfect, but when there’s a problem, she’s on it right away. The club looks absolutely beautiful since the remodel (especially the shiny new equipment!!!) and my daughter is ecstatic about the new turf area. Big changes are being made after all these years!
Typical corporate gym. No employee seems to care about anything other than selling you something like personal training or memberships for family members. They also seem to have a hard time getting and keeping cleaners, which results in just so-so cleanliness, especially on weekends. I’d say about half to two- thirds of the lockers in the men’s locker room look vandalized to some degree, and they are often lined with gritty sand at the bottom, like they’ve never been cleaned. Men’s showers too, they go through a month or maybe two when they are reasonably clean, and then fall into disrepair with broken soap dispensers, torn or missing curtains, and then the mold sets in.Pool/ jacuzzi area is reasonably clean, but has a dingy, poorly lit feel to it.It’s really a shame because there must be literally thousands of members paying $40 a month, yet they put almost none of that money back into the club. It could be so much better if they only hired a few people that cared and did their jobs.
Ive been to the levittown and farmingdale branches. The farmingdale one is a little rundown but serviceable. I tend to mix in plyometric exercises with weights. So finding a space to do that was a little difficult. The levittown one was nicer and better upkeep. It felt like a smaller space but had a nice turf where I could find space for my workout. Parking and accessibility is great for each. If you go at a slower time for farmingdale it wouldnt be so bad.All in all, I liked the gym.
Great zumba classes in most LA fitnesses. During this awful Corona epidemic, the gyms are still not clean . No one seems to care when you bring up the dirty bathrooms and lack of disinfectants and hand sanitizer. In Lake Succes the evening classes are so packed that theres arguments about standing to close.
If I could put NEGATIVE stars I would. This gym is full of incompetent and inconsiderate staff, all the way up the management chain. This gym is overpriced and does NOT accommodate their members. Their handicap bathroom has been deemed “unusable” since JANUARY. Not ONE staff member has a key! They either say they don’t have the key or that there are plumbing issues. I’ve been told it’s an “operations management” issue, whatever that means. It’s been over six months, still no indication that this will be resolved any time soon. Having access to a bathroom is a basic human right. There are individuals that NEED and DESERVE access to a handicap bathroom.Brandon, one of the managers, was condescending and arrogant. He was the complete opposite of helpful. They think because it’s a large and well-known gym, they don’t have to treat their members with respect. He would rather the staff at the front desk deal with issues he should be resolving.
This gym is honestly terrible the operations manager(Ashley) is the worst. Told my mother and I there’s no women janitors but while we went to the back we saw a women janitor with a la fitness t shirt. No clue why she lied to us. But also she’s very rude to her employees and sits on her desk all day and does absolutely nothing. Definitely not returning to this gym. Been a member here since it first opened and she keeps the gym terrible. No wonder why I’ve seen so many new faces since she’s been here, because no one likes to work with her. New and dedicated manager needed
Walked in and was amazed at the remodel that la fitness did with this club! I walked in and was so happy with the service I received from Allison, she was super friendly and helped me get myself and my father set up at the gym. Go in and ask for Allison! Shes the best!
I come 4-5 times a week, mostly at the quieter less busy hours and 95% of the time there are no paper towels in the bathroom, no soap in the dispensers in the bathroom, and no paper towels out on the floor to clean and sanitize the machines before/after use. there are however used paper towels on 50% of the cardio machines that are left behind that never get picked up. the cleaning and re-stocking of this place really needs to improve. Its really disappointing because I like the gym otherwise. I am a former Farmingdale La Fitness goer and I can only say great things about that location. It was very clean and any time of tday/night that I went I always saw people cleaning. I wish I could say the same about the Levittown location.
Easily the best LA Fitness Ive been to. They keep it really clean and I did not have to wait for machines - all of which have individual TVs! The weights were actually racked and machines were all working properly.* A year later:My previous review ranked this 5 stars. However, they are really doing a poor job at maintaining this place. At any given time about 1/3 machines are broken for one reason or another. Hope this changes soon!
I love this location. It is always well maintained and the staff is very welcoming. One of the managers, Ashley is always going above and beyond to make sure that I have an exceptional experience every time I come in. Overall a great facility and would Definitely recommend.
This gym has the most unprofessional staff. When I called the gym to get some information some lady picked up the phone so rudely and when I was asking her questions regarding my account with them she was giving me attitude and spoke over me and once I tried to get a word in she said “Are you going to let me speak?” Miss you’ve been speaking the whole time and did not allow me to explain my situation. Whoever hired this staff clearly doesn’t care about losing customers.I called once more requesting forms to cancel my gym membership because their web portal was down and the man on the phone told me that he would be able to email me the forms but he would have to check with his manager and give me a call back but I never got a call from anyone. (I know with gyms you need to show up to cancel but apparently you can only come in between the time of 9-5pm from Monday-Friday but most people work 9-5 throughout the week)The sad part of it all is that when you first decide to join the gym they are overly nice to you and won’t let you leave until you sign up. They even asked to put my debit card on hold to keep a special price for me that I did not receive. What I don’t understand is if they made me an account under a friend of mine why do they need my card if they aren’t even charging my card? I called and asked them to charge me and they stated that since it’s under her account they can not charge my card. Once I asked why they needed my card on file no one had an answer for me.The staff in this gym needs some serious customer service training because they have absolutely none. The only type of training that they probably received was training on how to convince you to sign up for a membership.
New to LA Fitness and very disappointed. New staff is needed and thats a reflection on the manager. They arent friendly in person or professional over the phone. They are very unwilling. Upon signing up, the agent never smiled or gave any discounts. I couldve just read a black and white pamphlet for the same experience. Upon adding a guest, the agent made us sit for 5mins while he was at his desk doing nothing. He looked right at us and had no urgency to address us. When he finally did see us, it felt like we were disturbing him. Not sure that Ill remain a member and certainly wont recommend this gym to anyone.
Worse LA Fitness!! I have been a member in Centereach and I moved to this town and is day and night. This gym is over crowded, people interrupting while you are using the equipment and they even stand staring at you to wait until you are finish working out or just to hear are you done? Members dont clean after themselves when using the machines..perhaps because there is no sanitizer bottles around..leaving their germs and sweat in the machines. If so croweded that I cannot imagine me using the sauna or pool. I wont recommend this location to anyone. Stay away!
Club is not kept clean, they do not have enough people cleaning it. Locker rooms and bathrooms are dirty, showers you are afraid to brush up against the walls. As for the weights they are all over the place rarely do you ever see anyone put them back meaning members or staff. You wind up spending about 5 minutes searching for the other dumbbell. The only time you see them cleaning up and getting frantic is when they are getting a visit from upper management. Cancelled my membership and went elsewhere definitely not worth the money.
Being in marketing, I have an aversion to pushy / gimmicky sales. So I was happy to find that I experienced none of that at this location. I worked with Giuseppe to get started. He attended to me right away, and also gave me a tour. He was very knowledgable and personable throughout. Ive been to several gyms, and cant remember having a better introduction. I was signed up, and ready to start working out, in no time at all. I used to be very in shape. Since being engaged, this is not the case. I kind of just eat whatever. Do legs when I feel like it. Im looking forward to returning to form.
Slightly dirty, but managed somewhat. Theres always immature kids watching the place and I never see the lifeguard unless hes talking to someone or taking water samples. Otherwise hes sitting in a cubicle not paying attention to the swimmers. Very dangerous IMO and he cannot see the spa from where he sits because, you know, sitting in a 103 degree bath isnt dangerous and nothing bad happens. Its not the cleaning crews job to clean up after people so unless the garbage can is overflowing or theres no toilet paper I see them no reason to clean just because some idiot thats too richeous to pick up after himself leaves their stuff on the floor. I dont use weights so I cant say much for the condition of them. Many treadmills will violently jerk back every couple of revolutions and the belts are in need of replacing. Hot water is often shut off purposefully and it took an angry lady to come out of the locker room to yell at the cleaning staff to get the hot water back on yesterday. Today I came in to see a sign that says to use less hot water, as if that was the reason for it being cold. BS I say, as if you ever used up all the hot water, it still comes out slightly warm because its still passing through the heater core. No, there was no difference in temperature between hot and cold so THAT MEANS THEY SHUT IT OFF! Because it would be a strange coincidence that after someone complained the hot water magically came up again. Also, the AC is never on yet the building is getting near the 80 degree mark. The garden city location had it on in February because the gym happened to be very warm that day, after all it is a gym with a sauna and spa and hot and sweaty people so there is lots of sources of heat being generated. All in all, this gym needs a better staff, cleaning too and a desperately needed renovation.
Tried the day pass. It looks clean but no one does actually cleans up after themselves. Lots of great equipment. Noticed a few older men that creep on woman working out in just a bra. Employees are rude. Regardless how your day is going, its basically customer service & hospitality skills. Check in employees are lucky they get to sit all day and get paid SO.
Allison hernandez is a wonderful worker. She helped me so much with much with everything and showed me around. She was also very patient with me and all my crazy questions. I can’t wait to tell my friends to start coming here with me and to go to her for the membership. THANK YOU GUYS !
I go here bc of the large assortment of gym machines but its consistently dirty, has unfriendly staff, and often has no soap or paper towels in bathrooms. This place should be cleaner considering what they charge. Be very wary of the used car salesmen who try to get you to pay the most for your membership. they must be on commission pay basis
Ive used this gym for the last 4 years. I go in, do my thing and leave. I like it better than planet fitness and synergy. The weights are always lost, a treadmill and stairclimber were out of service today, the machines are worn down and the quad machine kind of gave out on me the other day and the weights came loose. I only had it on 90 lbs and it was secure before I started. I go to the gym early before it gets packed and/or before they close. The kids are the front desk are always helpful when I need. I recently (as of yesterday) started to go to garden city. The equipment is nicer, classes are fun and Im going back tomorrow. There is always another LA some place else.
I am extremely angry right now. I was denied access to the gym today while I was trying to sign my mother for a membership at the gym. I was trying to get her to join the gym. At first I approached the counter and gave my phone number and was granted access and when I asked if my mother could sign up. I was told there was no one working to register her as a member. The guy at the counter was kind enough to let me and my mother work out before the gym closed so we can come tomorrow to sign up. Then I was on the cycle doing a little cardio and the gentleman from the counter came saying there was a representative to help sign my mother up. I went to the desk and spoke to a representative who told me my membership was revoked and I haven’t paid for the past three months. Which was a shock to me because I have been going for the past couple months with no problem and thought my account was on auto pay with my card. Then he told me that he doesn’t even work there and he’s covering for someone which was very odd to me. I just wanted to do cardio before the gym closed but he gave me a hard time and now I’m not interested in rejoining your gym with my mother. Also when I asked to see what he’s seeing on the monitor he said he can’t show it on the screen which I thought was a lie because representatives in the past showed me what they were seeing on the screen. I just feel terrible the way I was treated after the amount of money I spent here at the gym. I’m disappointed in how the situation was handled and I lost interest in rejoining your gym or getting my mother, father or any family member to join your gym. Especially after the encounter I had with the representative. Save your money and join blink fitness or planet fitness or lifetime. Basically any gym but here waste of time and money.
Solid size space. Lots of cardio, free weights, basketball court, etc. Giuseppe, the guy that I spoke to, was very personable, knew his stuff, wasnt overbearing (usually I feel like just another sale at some other gyms). Overall was great fit in terms of what they offer/price.
So I was here today with my boyfriend. It was a Tuesday around 4:00ish. I wont get into what happened with him (I was disgusted) because Im speaking on my own behalf, but I didnt like how I was spoken to at the front desk. My boyfriend had an appointment to speak to someone. I was just tagging along because I was with him. This older woman at the front desk gave me the nastiest attitude and said, I cant just let you in!. Really? I cant just tag along? I wasnt planning on working out or anything. We later found out that my boyfriend was in for an assessment, but we had no idea because nobody explained that to him over the phone. One of the many issues that with this place. Theres much more to the story but my issue was how I was spoken to. This woman didnt care if I sat outside in the car! The funny part is I was curious about the place since my boyfriend just signed up, but unfortunately for them I wouldnt sign up with them because of how rude this woman was to me. You guys should ashamed that you have someone so nasty working at your front office. Judging by other reviews Im not the only one who feels this way.
This place so unsanitary, how did it get pass health inspection? When you first walk in, there is a foul smell of feces that hits you in the face. The place never have fresh air circulating, heat will be blasting at 60 degree weather. Gas stations bathrooms are cleaner than the locker room. I’m surprised Town of Hempstead allows this gym to operate. Someone is not doing their job. It’s a shame.
Been working out and going to gyms for 38 years and I have to say this place is the worst I have ever been to. Just the stench alone walking through the front door is an affront to the senses. The filthy locker room and equipment is appalling. Ive worked out in cleaner dive gyms back in the 70s. The department of health should be investigating this gym.
How bout refilling paper towels so people can wipe off sweat. Takes a long time to fix broken equipment. Why is there a total of 7 channels to choose from using cardio equipment. Trying to burn fat can be boring at times and the choice of channels doesnt help. Why do they have direct tv when its cloudy there is no tv here. The fans needs to be turned up. Everyone is sweating and theres no relief from those ceiling fans. Lots of machines makes me come here even though I think it sucks.
Place is a disgusting filthy facility if you go there on weekends especially a few hours before closing. No cleaning crew on duty. Over flowing garbage cans, empty towel dispensers, plastic water bottles everywhere, garbage all over the floors and equipment. They are too cheap to hire the janitors to clean on weekends. All they care about is selling memberships and personal training. Have complained to corporate many times and it just gets referred back to the operations manager who does nothing. There is no management on duty on weekends other than the sales manager which is an issue. Very dirty and unsanitary!!!!!!
I joined LaFitness in Levittown NY for use of the pool. I also wanted to use the Farmingdale NY LaFitness for the pool. I have a rare form of arthritis that has disabled me from running and jumping. The only exercise to get my heart rate up is swimming that does not cause joint damage. When I join ed, I met with a sale person. I explained, I wanted to leave my old gym because of pool closing for children lessons. I have kids of my own. I dont have any problem with giving kids swimming lessons. I go to the gym to unwind and reduce stress and for the kiddie pool. the British swim company bought the time even though I paid my dues in advance. When I joined LaFitness the salesman told me that they did not and would not close the pool for kids lessons like their competitor. Two months in to my membership greedy LaFitness Corp sells off to a private company British Swim company pool rights. They are a private company take time from the members who pay membership. They now close the pool Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30 pm to 8 pm and a good part of the day Sunday. This is during primetime. When I asked for a refund of my prepayment because they changes. They said the club would have open times at either of the two clubs for lane swimming. I followed the schedule and went to Levittown and 3 lane were closed for an aerobics class. I have no problem with the closed lanes because of members and not a private company using the pool for a class. The sales people and company just tell you anything to get you to join. They outright tell you what you want to hear to join. Once you join they could care less about their members. I paid 3 years in advance to help the sales guy out but he was BSing me all the way to the bank. The incompetence and outright bad business practice makes this company the worst. The looker rooms are dirty and smells. The sinks are not clean. The shower half the time have no soap. They could not even clean the snow off the sidewalk in front of their club door. Monday, I asked at the fitness desk when the spin class started. I got a look of death. How could I ask a fitness instructor when the class started. He told me to look around for a schedule. He was just sitting at the desk not doing anything and could not help. I walk the gym they dont have it posted. I have the app on my phone and push location finder. The app cant even find the club when Im right infront of it. I put the zip code and the town, still cant find a club. I can I make a reservation for a bike, a class or see the class/pool schedule. Do yourself a favor stay away from LAFitness. There much better places to workout that are clean and helpful. They are the worst and mislead the customers. Poor! very Poor!
Walked in to see how the gym was. Just wanted to look around n walk. But no i had to sit down n do all the paper stuff. Guy started me at $47/month. I kept saying i dont want a memebership yet. He ended uo going down to $35. He got tired of me rejecting his memebership, ended up giving me a 7 day pass. He didnt even give the pass a try because of how annoying they were. Guy kept calling me twice a day for more than a month basically harrassing me into buying their membership. Gym was dirty n they wanted to charge me $47/month plus an annual feel to maintain the gym. Sorry but this gym is not worth any more than $20/month specially when they dont allow you to bring a guest. Staff at xsports in massapequa is much more friendly n not pushy. Theylll give you a 7day pass. N call you once at the end of the week to see how you feel you feel about becoming a member. They have the $19.99/month membership n the $39/month which allow you to use classes, pool n you can bring a guest. Not to mention a much cleaner place to work out
LA Fitness in Levittown is my favorite place to work out! It’s not because of the amazing equipment or the full size swimming pool (I love to get my laps in). It’s not because of the squeaky clean bathrooms or the emaculate sauna. It’s not because of the huge selection of weights to choose from. LA fitness isn’t my favorite gym because of any of that. It’s the great team they have on staff that really makes LA of Levittown stand out. Especially Guiseppe. He’s always so informative and professional. A special thanks to Guiseppe and the whole team over at LA in Levittown for really “lifting” my spirits every time I work out!
This location has the most disrespectful manager and front desk woman. I have witnessed Karina and Anna treat customers so rudely that it is completely disgusting. The language they use towards their customers is just wrong. I have been a member since the gym opened at that location and have never seen such dissrespect. The company should be ashamed of themselves for allowing this to go on. It is sad and heartbreaking.
Great Place I mean Ive been to about 4 La fitness this one is kept right, nice and inviting. I go to on sundays after 2pm and it has never been packed.. very relaxed. Yes be prepared for la fitness nuisances.. That ive realized is all over not just location, but for ppl like me who wants a indoor basketball court and many machines to use without it being packed this is the place.
Honestly the worst LA fitness Ive been to on LI so far, out of about 5. I just moved back here after being in the military and the army had better equipment. Dumbells are everywhere, improperly placed. No one is walking around to fix deficiencies, no fixed straight bars in the freeweight area forcing people to curl in the power/squat racks and take up space. Needs a management overhaul (More presence)
Giuseppe is a consummate professional who cares about each of his clients and those that work with him. He takes the time to get to know each person individually without making any prejudgments and allowing people to express their opinions and ideas freely. He is hands-on and will help you reach your full potential. This is a great fitness facility made even greater by Giuseppe.
Staff is extremely unprofessional i feel like they are only employing people on how rude they are. Only one person who is kind and helpful and professional is Daniel Zaglin. If not for him I would not be coming here along with my family. Please change the employees. I know a lot of people who canceled membership here because of people who work there.
Was referred by my friend to come in and meet with Brandon the general manager and it was ridiculously easy to start up. Just came from synergy and for the same price i was paying there i got a multi club membership and i can already see how much I’m going to like this gym!
While signing up for tne membership, my wife and I were told that our particular health insurance would give a $200 discount per person bi-yearly. The recruiter showed us a form that we would fill out and send to United healthcare to get the discount. Turned out to be a lie. I called United healthcare and they said they know nothing about such discount. When we approached the recruiter again, he ASKED US does it depend on the plan you have?. I knew it was a lie from the beginning but we still signed up because the price wasn t too bad and the amenities are okay for the price.Dont believe whatever these recruiters tell you about discounts somebody else will give you because they wont. Even better, call your insurance (or whoever) right in front of them. My wife and I were in a rush and didnt care for it otherwise we would had called to make the liar look like a liar sooner. The price you will end up paying is at least the price shown on the papers you sign. Best of luck!
The young kid at the counter has no idea what he’s talking about. The blonde dits also had no idea what she is talking abut. Get off your phones when your working. Try telling me I can’t use a guest pass my first time here. That I got it off some random guy.....This gym sucks
I pay too much for this gym. The people that workout there can barley walk its not even a gym its a senior center. Cant get a machine always taken. The people that work at this gym are all lazy. They close at 11pm i dont understand how its not 24 hours i pay 40$ a month.
Had a 1 week free trial pass that I used on a Wednesday. On Saturday I was told my pass had expired and I found out it was for 3 days and they said I could use it for the day. The next day I spooe to a manager and told him the story and he said he can adjust it when I come in and I can finish up the week. When I arrived I was told I had to either join or pay $20 for the day.
Terrible customer service. I had an issue with my membership (mistake on their end) and I had to call for months to try to resolve it. In the end, I was the one who had to figured everything out and practically told them how to fix it. Waste of my life that I’ll never get back.

2022-01-06Great gym lately. Clean, good air, friendly. Opens always on time, and staff is always on alert and helpful! I come every morning when they open and it seems like this location has been running a tight ship lately. Happy (picture taken at 5 am)

2021-11-18I just came back since the pandemic and have been pleasantly surprised. Some times of the day are a lot busier than others (usually when school is out) But, depending on the time of day, I find this location maintained and constantly being checked upon. Happy with the gym! Good review! (:

2021-07-17UPDATE (7/17)- No hot water in the gymTerrible gym. They’ve closed the basketball hoops, water fountain was out of service for weeks and they put it back into service for it to not work again. Only one water fountain for the entire gym to use. There’s only two Incline bench presses and one is out of service (they literally took the seat off). Several sinks are out of service. Soup dispensers do not work. Rope attachments are broken. Only thing this gym has going for it is the monthly. If you get a good deal I guess it’s okay. But who would pay a dollar for a gym like this when you can pay more for somewhere with better amenities and up keep? On top of this, they’re taking away so many things from you and keeping the monthly fee the same. Will be shopping around for other gyms in the area.

2021-11-15Let me say straight off the bat..this gym is not like some of these reviews. I’ve been to multiple LAF and this is if not the better sum of them, it is definitely above average compared to others. I came in on Sunday evening to see how it’s looked, and you can see for yourself there is definite improvement at this gym. It is going to be packed, it happens. But, it’s still cleaner than what it was and if you go at the right time it’s a great gym!

2021-11-03I’ve been coming to this gym for about a year now and the difference from when I started to now is amazing. I’ve noticed that they hired a new manager David. He is the nicest person ever. Always down to help out with anything and does it with a smile on his face. The staff is very knowledgeable and have helped me tremendously with my weight loss journey.

2022-02-08This is a good gym and I enjoy all of the amenities La Fitness provides. There are plenty of treadmills, ellipticals, step masters, machines, a small turf space with a sled, weights and boxing bags. There is also a pool, basketball court, and a sauna which is nice. Locker rooms are clean and there are plenty of lockers. Unfortunately, people who attend the gym don’t put the weights back where they’re supposed to go, machines stay broken, bathrooms stay out of order, the hand sanitizer doesn’t have anything in it, the gym is pretty hot, and a few sinks don’t work. It’s a good gym for the price though and I do enjoy going here.

2022-04-19Today I decided to check out the La Fitness in Levittown. I used to be a member of another La Fitness before the pandemic and wanted to see what this one looked like. I got a tour by the manager Sara, she was very knowledgeable and made sure I felt comfortable in the gym, she even showed me some machines and how to use them on the tour. I highly recommend if anyone is looking for a tour to ask for Sara.

2022-04-09I spoke with Sarah the new general manager, she was more then helpful and very respectable. She helped me sign up my son. And a member approached me and made me feel uncomfortable in the gym and she helped resolve the issue and it made me want to come back and even bring my son to sign up. She made sure we felt comfortable in the gym. I highly recommend her for any questions you have.

2022-02-21Decent gym but flawed. LOTS of teenagers working out in groups of 3-5 but seem to do more socializing then training. If you come at certain times expect to wait until conversations have concluded to get the equipment you desire. the worst part is how unorganized the equipment is. Nothing is in order. Weights ALL OVER the gym. The dumbbell rack is the most mismatched tangle of weights Ive ever seen. Ive also NEVER once witnessed an employee walking around and organizing. Hardly anyone reracks their weights. You can tell that most of the people in this gym have had their mommy doing their laundry and cleaning up after them their entire lives. Overcrowded most of the time. Wont be renewing

2022-06-29Actually really nice. (Better than Garden City Steward Ave) only say that because there will always be machines or other gym equipment ready to use in the morning. When this location gets packed its nothing compared to the one in GC. So this location provides availability, accessibility, and great customer service.
