LA Fitness in other cities:
Starting this year , this gym has transformed , it’s extremely clean , all the staff are very nice and know how to treat customers. I feel comfortable working on an area and not having to worry about the people around me saying anything. I love this gym and I haven’t found a gym this hood in the area and I’ve tried so many different ones. i will continue to come here and suggest all my friends and family to come here as well.
Been coming to this gym since 09! I can definitely say that Im a creature of habit. What can I say? This LA Fitness is one of the biggest, if not the biggest location in the country! Pretty cool to say. It can get a little crowded during the peak hours, which are late mornings and rush hour times. It can also be a bit unorganized and theyre still in the midst of renovating for the past 2 years 😒. However, this gym has so much that you can still manage to improvise your workouts and work up a good sweat! Hope you enjoy and get those gains!
Pros-The racquetball courts are nice, people are usually always willing to play handball too which is fun-There is a pool. It only goes 4.5 Ft deep but it’s there-The lady who cleans the women’s room is very niceCons-Parking is not easy-Theft issue in locker rooms-It gets absurdly crowded-If you use weights less than 30lbs (dumbbells or bars) don’t come here because you will never find any because there aren’t nearly enough. When someone finds a pair of 20s they’ll hold em forever because there’s not enough to go around-I’ve only seen one working scale to weigh yourself-No towels for pool-If you like to squat or deadlift be prepared to wait for a spot to use the equipment
Gym has been getting better with cleanliness as I felt a few months ago the quality of the spaces had dropped dramatically. They have increased staff and servicing of the free weights area.Unfortunately the type of people that go to this LA fitness are somewhat inconsiderate by super setting all the dumbbells available and hogging the weights bar and moving it around from place to place as they continue their workout.
Okay gym, new female employee in sales has all the men in the gym on their feet 😍. beautiful women with the pretty long hair amazing personality as well. One of the best sales persons i’ve had an experience with. the best feature and employee this gym has ever had. signed up me and all of my friends. Michelle i believe her name was i can be mistaken. she is the main topic of discussion in the gym right now! i hear everyone talking about her all throughout my workout, have been coming in everyday since then
My local gym in NYC is amazing. The staff is friendly and professional. Bathrooms can be a bit messy but thats because of the members. Maintenance works hard to try to keep up with the high volume traffic. Safe spacious place to workout with plenty of machines, weights, indoor basketball, pool, hot tub, saunas and smoothie shop. This gym is my heaven on earth
My friend used their guest free pass today just to try out their equipment. After that we went to get my friend’s ID and told the salesman that if he could just send the membership information to my friend’s email (instead being there and get pushed to get a membership etc..). The salesman seems want to keep us to stay, After i quick told him that we are not join TODAY, his face being awkward. I really hope that gyms can get rid of these kind of business model, very uncomfortable😐
Last couple of times I went to the pool, there was no lifeguard present. The pool was a free-for-all. No one could swim w/out bumping into each other, even in the lanes designated for single swim usage. People were taking pictures, eventhough there not supposed to. People bringing there small children. This is a nice lawsuit just waiting to happen.
I mainly come here to play racquetball. Their four courts are not well maintained but it is the closest ones for me so I have to deal with it. They often slap a “Scheduled for Service” sign on a court but then do not service it for months. The courts are also not usually cleaned so there could be a lot of dust accumulated over time.Parking here is insane as well. There are just so many people here in this gym. They have a huge parking lot but it is usually packed with cars at most times. I’ve seen their aerobics classes and it seems like it packs over 100 people into a room, barely a feet apart. That’s crazy. Imagine the humidity!Bathrooms are ok though. 5/10.
Harassment from Daisy V.--- Finally having time to work out after giving birth to twins, I decided to give LA fitness a try for the 1st time. I signed up for their guest pass and decided to active it yesterday, 5/28. I arrived at the front and was told I have to wait due to someone being ahead of me (they did not tell me who Id be speaking to). After waiting for about 13 minutes the employee at the front told me I could go workout. So, I walked around feeling like a tourist and observed the machines, the locker room until I went upstairs and used a cycle machine for about 20 minutes. I then decided to go back to the front to see if I could get a breakdown of the training and membership. Out of nowhere, a lady by the name of DAISY V. stepped in front of me and aggressively said I was TRESPASSING because I went into the gym after being told to wait. I was so shocked and embarrassed. I told her one of her employees told me to go into the gym, she refused to believe me and said she spoke to them, and no one mentioned that to her. We then walked a few steps to the front (where the 3 employees sat.) and daisy asked for me to show her my guest pass so she can activate it. While i was looking for the email she asked the employees if they told me to go inside (after she told me she asked prior), the guy said yes and she ROLLED HER EYES at him and without looking at me or giving me an apology (due to her pride), she walked back to her desk. Due to the unprofessionalism and harassment I received from Daisy, I just left only to find out she is the operations manager there which made it worse. Daisy V. needs to be trained on how to be professional when dealing with the public but I guess training wont make a difference if your a nasty person within.
Left my jacket for 5 minutes on one of the benches in the locker room and gone by the time I came. Thank god the “thoughtful thief” left my car keys and face mask on the bench else I wouldn’t even have a car to go home in the snow. The front staff obviously isnt responsible but man they can at-least act like they care, (one of the general managers didn’t even bother to listen) or leave signs up saying that lots of thieves are around. Very disappointing. So called “signature club”.!
Do not come to this gym. The trainers are unprofessional and extremely rude. I had an incident with some “trainer” named Tom. He was rude, aggressive and tried to put his hands on me because I was using a barbell from the private training area. Very unsafe environment. You’re better off going to planet fitness for less
I read the comments. The customers are nasty leave Kotex, don’t flush the toilet and the blame it on staff . SMH I wonder how the home looks. Staff is not a 24 hours maid service. How about cleaning up behind ur self 4 the next person. The bathroom always clean when I first walk in the A.M. Staff amazing and the spin class by Lisa was outstanding. So many I can’t remember their name’s.
Very bad gym experience to be honest. People who come there aren’t serious at all, not respectful to the others. For example they take weights you need if you just walk a little away from it or turn your face in another direction. So you literally have to keep an eye on it while using. It even happened that when I went to do cardio on the second floor I found another set of weight equipment. If you take it to a cardio section why don’t you have dignity to bring it back to where it belongs! Don’t expect staff members do it for ya! You’re wasting other people’s time! And sometimes some clients smell bad bad. I’m not trying to be mean but once I had to stop my work out because a man next to me smelt like he had pooped... very disappointed
Machines are always broken take forever to get serviced. There’s a cable machine that legit has been broken for over a year now. Saunas always down for service but never serviced. Ppl sneak in through basketball courts. Staff doesn’t do a good job in re-stacking weights, see them hiding away most of the day.
You would think a gym with countless theft in the parking lot would make the management add some cameras in and facing the parking lot. Went to the gym and got my car randomly keyed, would not recommend this location if you car about your car and people breaking into it.
Extremely packed. Sometimes you have to wait 40+ minutes to use a bench. Weights are all over the place, never reracked. Most of my time here isn’t even spent working out, but rather just seeking/waiting for equipment and running around like a headless chicken looking for free weights because they r scattered all over the place.
I dont understand why my reviews arent being posted. The people that run google are not being nice. Dont come to this gym. They have the money to replace the missing equipment but they dont spend any thing . So much missing equipment and its a very dirty gym. Housekeeping is not doing their jobs. So many paper towel dispensers are empty. There is always junk all around the gym and the bball courts need better ventilation. The court always smells musty hence clogging my sinuses and mitigating my vertical jump. The guy with the blonde dreadlocks in the morning is sleeping half the time. We need corporate to investigate. Ive seen the dreadlocks guy vaping in the gym and have seen member do it as well. Vaping in the gym, oxymoronic innit?
I love the size of this gym but it is so sad to see it being run down. It used to be so good until they decided to add 2 rooms that are rarely ever utilized and investing money in that instead of investing money and upgrading machines upgrading weights and upgrading the overall space that really is being used.
Largest L.A. in the U.S. has basketball, lap pool, racquetball, and tons of equipment. Pretty cheap if you are willing to dish out for a long term committment. They also have a smoothie cafe inside. Downsides are thst it is very busy and hard to find available equipment. Floor is broken up into free weights, then upper/lower body sections and given the sheer size of the place it makes circuit training of any kind difficult. I also couldnt find any exercise bands to meet my needs.
In my opinion this particular LA fitness location is mid-tier. Even though they made some good improvements, it’s overshadowed by weights being left all over the gym. As a regular gym goer who likes to focus on weight training, it’s very upsetting. The only good part about my gym experience (and the reason I haven’t cancelled my membership yet) is getting trained by Ellen - she is the best of the best. Even with the obvious lack of equipment in the personal training area, she still gets the job done. She’s help me come so far in my fitness journey - mentally and physically.Disclaimer: The gym gets a 3 star, but Ellen gets the full 5 stars.
LA Fitness is a great gym to go to. Way better than the gym’s you guys are signed up at. LA Fitness is Very flexible to your needs and wants when you sign up. I love going here they have everything you need to get fit ! Even a basketball court and Pool/ Jacuzzi. Let’s not forget cancellation anytime without a buy out fee! Overall I love it here the smoothies are amazing!!! Gives me motivation to work out and get a smoothie after :)
Signed up for fitness training. They took me off their schedule but kept charging me and later on they stopped allowing reserving on line.Mr K, the manager is the attitude person who made his own law. Contacted the corporate office and they also did not allow me to have my own sessions. So the basic idea is- once you sign up-you are just stuck. You do not have basic rights. The place is very stinky.
Pick another gym to workout in. If you have to pick LA Fitness, I highly recommend going to another LA Fitness than this one. This gym used to be good. I have been a member at this gym ever since they opened, which was 10+ years. Back then, the staff actually cared about this place. However, now they just care if you sign up. You are nothing more than a membership due. There is practically no cleaning in this gym. All the water fountains either have a strange stain on it or it has a hard water stain on the floor by it. Speaking of the water fountains. most them barely have any pressure or one of the button is missing. The equipment is really old. Most of them have not been changed out since the gym opened and it shows. There is rust all over the machines, weight indicators are missing, selector pins are either missing or not the rights. The pads on some of the machines are breaking. Lastly, the info for the weight machines are either missing or just not there. The free weights section is a joke. There are no realistic dumbbells anywhere. Most of the 15-55 lb dumbbells are missing and whatever is left, are being hogged by the customers. The free weight plates are also missing, all over place or never racked back up. They are thrown about on the floor. Some of them are being used as door stops. I spend half my workout session looking for a proper weight. If a machine breaks, good luck with that. They take forever to fix it. The seated dip machine in the pictures below took 5 weeks to fix because the staff claims they couldnt find the proper cables.Since December of 2018, the staff put up signs everywhere saying they will be remodeling the club soon. It is May 29, 2019 and the most they have done are paint a few pillars and partially wax the floor. One of the racquetball courts has some kind of remodeling materials in it and it has not been touched in almost 2 months.Another sad thing about this is the dedicated training zone. The staff will let anybody come in and train in that zone or remove weights and equipment from it.That zone is meant for personal trainers and their client. If you think I am lying, look at the pictures I posted or if you really dont believe me, go and see for yourself.
I LOVE Louraine Ks class she is the BEST this gym has! She definitely puts you to work. I have noticed a lot of improvement in my body and my endurance. LA Fitness needs to bring back her Zumba class!! Shes the only instructor with great upbeat music and real workouts!
A lot has changes at this location; some good, some not so good. This location does not check for proof of vacation (at least not my last visit)One not so good:This used to the be only LA fitness in the area with 2 basketball courts. This was good for the ball players because it meant less crowded courts. There is only one court now, which may now cause a bit of overcrowding (a bad idea in a worl where COVID-19 variants are still rampant). One Good:There have been some nice improvements to other facilities. You can now work out on this turf area which may help those looking to do dome speed training and plyometrics.Theres a new workout space where the one of the basketball courts used to be and I imagine its used for private classes.
This gym has transformed from one that was neglected into one thats clean and looked after. The mens bathroom is spotless, the walls are even clean.Daisy and her coworkers are on the same page when it comes to what this member is looking for in a clean and pleasant place to train.
I love Lisas classes, senior fit and mat pilates! She Does a fantastic senior fit class which is a combination of dance/cardio and strengthening! Had a sub for her senior fit class, and unfortunately, IMHO, the class was terrible. All balancing and no cardio/dance at all:( Dont ever let Lisa go😊
Someone tried to break my locker (red circle), I think thief try to pulled it spin it. Luckily, it was unsuccessful. And then i report to the manager, they would not provide any help. So I asked for termination of my membership, but need to pay the cancellation fee.I talked someone else in gym, there were 2 victims yesterday and they broke the lock and took everything included your car key & searched the car.I would not recommend this location! It’s pricey and unsafe! You can get better service with this price.
This gym has went down to trash half of the machines are broken and I’ve been noticing some treadmills are down since February so 2 months and no service that’s horrible !!! The sauna in second men’s locker has been out of service since mid of March not repaired still 🤷🏽
Whatever you do, do not sign up for training sessions here! Not only is the quality of the sessions poor, but the flexibility and willingness to work with peoples schedules is non existent. Gym is lacking space and adequate equipment, especially weights. I payed way less at 24hr Fitness and there was far more equipment there. Everyone on staff at this gym is also excessively rude and unprofessional, specifically the training manager Cameron. No way someone with that kind of arrogant attitude and complete lack of respect for clients should ever work in customer service. Easily the worst decision I have made this year was signing up for a membership and training sessions at this gym.
Spacious gym with all sort of equipment that caters to everybody’s need. The swimming pool is pretty big too, with sauna and squash, this gym is a bang for your buck. However, they are very pushy when it comes to getting more $$ off you. We were assigned to Mark as our PT, who was absolutely unprofessional. He ridiculed me and my friend personally to make us take the training course. Good gym, but workers need proper training.
Great signature gym. some unique equipment. I had the privilege of working with trainer Martin Weir. Talk about real deal, there’s no mistaking you received a work out. I’ve had other trainers and sometimes I felt I didn’t have a good workout, Not with Martin, you’ll get in shape quick!
This gym really impressed me. Considering how scary it still is to be out and about in a public space with large crowds, i absolutely loved the fact that Lake Success gym is SO spacious. I always see the equipment, floors, and bathrooms being wiped and cleaned constantly. Obviously wearing a mask is mandatory. I never feel like there is someone hovering over me waiting for a machine or use of equipment, because this gym is literally FULLY stocked. Also, the trainers and staff are so helpful. From my personal experience, if you are training or need help with your weight loss journey, and need someone who can literally change your life, ask for Cameron. Besides him, the best part about the trainers who work at this gym is that they are so professional and can actually help you with transforming your body. I had the pleasure of being trained by incredible trainers such as Justin, Paul, Erol, Darnell.Everyone who works here is just so completely professional, patient, kind, and that’s something I very much appreciate when going to the gym. I highly recommend this gym to everyone I know, and whoever is searching for someplace to begin their fitness journey.
If you are seeking personal training, go talk to Cam & Tom. Cam is very knowledgeable about weight loss and building muscle. He is realistic and very specific about achieving your goals. He gave me a timeframe and a diet plan which worked. Cam checked in on my progress often and gave me pep talks to stay on track. My trainer Tom is awesome! He is tough but will get you to where you need to be. He is motivating and does not give up on you. I have seen results and felt the best I have ever felt. He gave me confidence to work out independently (instead of hiding on a treadmill). Definitely recommend!
I train with Antonio and he is very professional. He has taught me so much when it comes to overall health. He pushes me and keeps me going so that I’m able to meet my fullest potential. He knows exactly what exercises are need to meet your fitness goals. 10/10 recommend him!
I have been a member in the LA Fitness in Commack for a few months and had to go to a Drs appointment in the New Hyde Park location. I was very happy when they let me know I could use all locations in the country. All I could say about this place is WOW. It is absolutely amazing. It did seem very busy when I was parking but once I got inside and saw how MASSIVE the place was i was very impressed. They have EVERYTHING!!!!! Would give 6 stars if it was an option
I am very pleased with the professional services I received from Gam the trainer manager. I am extremely impressed with the knowledge, help and time Antonio who is my trainer gives to me while we are in session. I would recommend others to this service provider by la fitness lake success
The personal training here was the best decision I’ve made at this gym. With lingering knee pain, I was scared to work my legs without aggravating my injury but with the help of Luciano I was able to strengthen my legs immensely without making my knee pain worse. Highly recommend especially for athletes dealing with injuries.
If I can give 0 stars I would. This gym is disgusting. They robbed me of my money and lied to my face about everything. Do not recommend at all. Things get stolen out of locked lockers all the time. They will steal your money and lie about taking a dime. Save the stress and money, go to another gym!
Have gone to many different gyms over the years and i have to say this was the worst one by a mile. And whatever you do, dont get their personal training packages under any circumstance. The trainer that I had was great, the issue was with management. They will harass you at least once a week to sign up a week earlier for your classes and if you dont respond, they will schedule your sessions in without your knowledge. Most machines are broken, in disrepair, or missing proper handles. Would honestly give it a zero if I could.
A thief hotspot! Do not sign up here; due to the he fact that a lot of medical staff at the hospital across the street use it, lockers are CONSTANTLY broken into here. I learned this first hand and from the police. Besides that, the gym front desk didn’t care at all that my possessions were stolen. The staff is aware of the issue and does nothing to reduce or correct it. Besides being terrible in that regard, good luck finding a weight in the back. Gym equipment is constantly broken or under repair, and the lockers and bathrooms are hideous and never cleaned properly.
The LA Fitness at this location is honestly the best gym I have been to on Long Island. Nicolette “Big Nick” is one of the best trainers and she will break everything down for you with ease. I did a trial work out with her and I left feeling confident that I’m going to get to my fitness goal with the help of LA Fitness. If you are looking for a no nonsense, good atmosphere gym I suggest the Lake Success location.
Im on a 14 day visitors pass here and the gym is nice. The problem here is theres no control. The women go in the sauna with jeans, sneakers, and sometimes theyre high heels on. they also have a really bad habit of leaving their wet clothes from the swimming pool in the sauna to dry; which is totally digesting. I do feel that they need more employees patroling the locker rooms, and signs on the sauna door stating the rules of what should be worn in the sauna. Also they need to have more staff dusting off the equipment , although I understand there is renovation going on still, theres absolutely no reason for a pile up of dirt, dust and spider webs on the threadmills/Ellipticals and bikes. Signs should be hung up asking that all weights be reracked, for this is def.. a safety issue. And during class no one should be able to have theyre coats, pocketbooks and shopping bags on the floor (for this is also a safety issue and a lawsuit waiting to happen), or even off to the side. Rules should and need to be enforced that all clothing and bags have to go in a locker.Next time Ill post the pictures
I joined a couple of months ago. The gym is huge and provides plenty of space for distancing and lots of machines. I’m pretty satisfied with their hygiene and their cleanliness battle against covid. The locker rooms could use a better maintenance but overall it’s decent for an affordable gym. Go there, work out, and leave. What more can you ask for? Can’t wait until they open up the sauna again!
Good luck trying to cancel your membership. I got off work early to go in at 450 because you have to cancel on a weekday 9-5 (super convenient I know). When I arrived I was immediately told that the manager was not in and I would have to come back. They refused to help me, give me a managers number, give me proof they were going to do something. It did not look like they were doing anything. When I asked for a screenshot of the text from the manager saying she would take care of it they acted as though I wanted to read through her text messages. It was very frustrating. I paid my money and moved, why make it so difficult for me to cancel? I can promise that if I am ever back in the area I will not be a repeat customer. Thank you to the one employee who realized how rude they were being and offered assistance and to handle it. Someone should promote her to manager because she actually decided to do something and wanted to resolve the situation.
They charged me 40 dollars for a class I DID NOT TAKE, theres never any weights in the free weight section, and most of the machines are broken oh and lets not forget this place gets so packed with groups of people that you cant find a machine for hours, the worst purchase I’ve ever made in my entire life highly regret it please SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!!
I’ve been working out at this gym for a while and I have to say that’s it’s literally the nicest/biggest gym I’ve ever been to. It has a heated pool, sauna and a basketball court. I’ve paid way more at other gyms for way less. This place is top tier and one of the best gyms out there
Overall the gym is good but they do not have enough barbells for the amount of benches and squat racks in the gym. It’s been MONTHS that it’s been like this and still nothing had been done. So if you don’t mind waiting around and prolonging your workout, this is the place.5/7/21: been over a month now and still no barbells. Still no dedicated person putting equipment back (members should be doing it as well), urinals not working.
Staff is great. The treadmills on the upper floor is way way to close to each other. The green space area on the main floor is like working out in a prison yard. It’s always a group of the same people that gives no one a chance to use the equipment. Let’s not even talk about the weight area in the back. You would have a better chance getting hit by lightning than getting a dumbbell or the bench.
Really enjoyed working cameron helped with my account very professional and went out of his way!!! And had Ellen as a trainer for past 3 years, she helped me gain strength and muscles and helped me learn the proper way use my body for total body workout and helped me use weights and machines correctly without getting injured. Absolutely recommend her as trainer at the lake success gym if your looking for total body transformation and maintain it aftet your goal!!!💪
This place has everything a person would need. There is a tremendous amount of equipment, pool, racquet ball courts, classes, etc. I havent seen all the cardio equipment in use yet so theres always something available. The monthly price is lower than other gyms with comparable equipment.Thats where the problem comes in, the low price invites a certain clientele. The dumbbells are all over the place. Good luck finding a kettle bell forget it if you need 2 of the same weight. At least once a session theres someone who walks by and you can smell them for several minutes afterwards.
I did not enjoy going to the gym but ever since I signed up for personal training, I make it my mission to go at least 3-4 times a week. The team of trainers are managed by Cam who assigns trainers fit for your fitness goals, creates a meal plan just for you and pushes you to the best of your abilities. Thank you to the training team at LA fitness who have helped me lose weight, tone my body and have a better relationship with the gym.
Ive been a member of this particular location since 2010. Since they have upgraded it to the style it has now suddenly everyone wants a membership here. no problem, except they are not serious gym go-ers and usually just take up a machine to use their phone for 15 minutes before wasting time on another machine. not the gyms fault but think im going to have to switch to another location because of the current crowd there.
I love the gym given that there was a revamp of the location. A lot more equipments and space to workout compared to the other locations near by. Just a suggestion for the staff is to rerack the weights as much as possible. I recently signed up for personal training and I think that was one of the better decisions I made amidst the pandemic. Post knee injury I could not really push myself but the awesome and professional trainers (Alex, Steven and Erol) really got me out of my fear, I ended up learning some great workouts and lost about 7 lbs in 6 months. Thanks team!
Where do I start with this gym.... because of the pandemic this gym FINALLY! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 made a thorough cleaning to ALL their machines. With such big space you would think they would hire more people to clean rather than having a bunch of sales reps seating around talking amongst themselves. The gym did a major update which is a plus. Added a few new machines. They still have their old machines. Big parking lot, has a pool which is usually being fixed for some reason. Also has a jacuzzi but is not for service due to the pandemic, saunas and showers as well. Most annoying aspect of this gym are the sales reps / personal trainers constantly trying to help you work out better when in reality they are just trying to sale you extra services they provide. I get it is a business but they do this all the time. A girl cant work out in peace?!They try really pushy sales methods that dont work, at least with me it doesnt. They also have a variety of classes. Shout out to Lou she is a kickboxing instructor the best one there! Take her class. Overall gym is average.Last thing to keep in mind, they have very few pair of dumbbells available that range in 10lb 15lb or even 20lb. If you do find a pair here make a wish and be grateful! Smh....
I have been coming to this gym for many many years. The new renovations are a great addition to the facility. Most importantly, I am writing the review in thanks to the personal training department. I have lost all of my quarantine weight and then some. The dieting plans and training sessions have changed my lifestyle and gym technique drastically. Cameron is the guy to see, he will find you a trainer suitable to your liking and scheduling and create a meal plan personalized to your body that ACTUALLY works (if you ACTUALLY stick to it).
I have been taking LAF HIIT Class for 3 months and Im making a big progress. I lost much weight, my strength is built up & my endurance got much improved. Consistent workout gave Good results..All the equipments and machines are new. And I get motivated each time by Nice and Professional instructors who knows what they are doing. And people here are focused. Overall, Im very satisfied with the class.👍👍👍👍
You can do anything you want online with LA Fitness except cancel.I went to the club to cancel and I was told there were no managers in and they weren’t expected back for a while. I told them I wasn’t leaving until they cancelled me. A minute later someone said she would help me. She did but was very nasty.I was planning on rejoining in a few months but after my experience when I wanted to cancel I will never do business with them again.
Dont fall into there traps or any trick for Personal Training. They will push you for the PT & will offer you good deal. Please explain everything clearly to the person who want to take PT. Do not pressure anyone to take PT.*Go to planet other gym, you will not have this kind of problem.
I called to find out if the facility is open on the first week of September, but no one picked up the phone. The jacuzzi and female shower area smells and need to be remodeled. The pool water need to drained and cleaned more often. The gym can become crowded, but people need to be respectful and considerate of others and socially distance etc. There are pushy sales people. The work out areas were renovated with ample equipment. I hope the jacuzzi will reopen soon!!
All kinds of people gather in this place. It’s nearly impossible to find dumbbells because some people use those to put their phone or sit on them. Also people take stuff to another part of the gym.I noticed only one employee is serious about organizing the stiff and putting them back to correct place.
I’ve been a member here for the past few years, the staff are professional and nice. I recently signed up for personal training sessions with Tiffany and she’s amazing! Really works me out. If you’re thinking about signing up for a personal trainer ask for Tiffany, you definitely get tour money’s worth.
This location has the worst customer service. I was willing to start a new membership and pay an initiation fee along with my monthly subscription until I got a purchase confirmation email saying id have to pay an annual fee. If I’m paying an annual fee I should have been told that over the phone but instead I was rushed off the phone and was charged first and last month and initiation fee. I should have also been told that first and last was being charged from my account. Super disappointed by the poor communication and lack of professionalism from this gym especially since I used to go to this gym all the time.
Ive visited other LA Fitness locations. This location is by far the cleanest one. Timothy and the friendly staff have a great cleaning team to keep up with members. Extremely helpful and a pleasure to speak to. The facility is clean, and extremely well maintained. I am there many times a week and I even see the manager and the training staff keeping the gym in order! Ive been a member of many places and this facility is by far the best Ive been a member of. Always greeted warmly and treated with respect. This gym’s juice bar, and the shakes are, no joke, amazing! You must try them. Also, I dont have much experience with training besides my free consultation, but the trainer did a really good job of suggesting workouts for me. Would highly recommend taking up on the free consultation opportunity! Keep up the great work!
Gym is huge but during the beginning of the covid shutdown the free weights got stolen. So now its a free for all everyday for dumbells. Aside from the stuff is thrown everywhere and the only thing that really saves it is the sheer size of the gym. Staff is ight ...oh sometimes bathrooms be pretty messy too. Def could use some improvements.
The gym has been remodeled and the only thing I can say is wow and its not even done yet! The staff has been very patient with our concerns during the remodeling and very helpful. The new training area is splendid! My personal trainer sessions have been even better with the new equipment. This gym is a community and very welcoming.
They definitely got new dumbbells, when I came back to la fitness a few months ago there was definitely a lack of dumbbells but they got more recently and it’s wayyyyyy better now. The only thing is that I wish they would check to make sure people actually have gotten their vaccine shots before they let people have their mask off but I digress,,,
Above average cleanliness. Large quantity as well as variety of machines. Decent sized free weight area with 6 deadlifting/squatting platforms. Huge UXF area with 4 weighted bags. Beautiful heated five lane junior Olympic size pool. 6 racquet ball and 2 squash courts with Excellent ventilation. Significant quantity of sanitation stations.Only down side to this gym in my opinion is the staffs or whomever inability to rerack the weights at the end of the day. Weights, bars and other equipment is scattered all over the gym.If youre OK with playing where in the world is the 45 lb dumbell, you will love this gym.
The free weights area is full of people but there are not a lot of dumbells. There are only about 10-15 pairs on the long stretch of racks that . There are some scattered on the floor but there are still a whole lot missing (No 5’s, 10’s, 15’s etc) There are no bars on the free weight shoulder press bench and there are not enough plates for both the barbells and machines. The machines near the entrance are ok. Cardio machines are well maintained. I was thinking of signing up yesterday but i guess i’ll have to wait until the dumbells and plates problem has been resolved
Pros: Big gym, plenty of machines, weights, and racks.Cons:Expect to trip over a 85 lb dumbell in an aisle where it shouldn’t be, not be able to find the ez bar you need, pass groups of people playing music from their own speakers, and free weights every where and not in their place. If I go to the gym, I expect to work out not play hide and seek with the weights. No regulation from employees on this policy and its disappointing. I’d rather pay a slightly higher price for a boutique gym like Push Fitness for better quality service.
There is a guy in men’s bathroom. Shaving his face and under his arms with razor! Are you kidding me?!!!!!When I informed the front desk about that she smiled and said “I don’t know”Can people shave with razor in a gym bathroom?Unbelievable. No reaction from front desk!
I had read a bunch of negative reviews from the last couple weeks so I was expecting to be disappointed BUT I was not. Gym was clean, people wore masks. Since the remodel there are more machines so people are not waiting around. Staff is friendly and helpful. Happy the negative reviews were wrong
I’ve been working with the personal training staff for 6 months and have lost 30 lbs. Specifically, Cameron and Steven have been especially helpful in my fitness journey and it’s been a life changing experience. They helped me get into strength training and it’s been the best decision.
After reopening last week they check the temperature of people to get them in. But have only one person checks it and there is big line build up due to checking the temperature. They should have more than one person checking the temperature so people shouldn’t have to wait too long, more than half hour. And Also the manager doesn’t know what is going on in the gym, he doesn’t know his responsibilities, and his management skills. It’s almost a week of reopening and he doesn’t know how to manage the rush.
Management has given up on maintaining order in this gym ... Remember the movie Toy story 3 where all the kids just ransacked the place and left toys and garbage all over the place? Yea thats basically this gym but with lazy adults and unpaired dumbbells scattered all over the place.
I wish the machines were better maintained and not broken. Staff should re-rack the weights like they use to years ago when this place was clean. Or enforce patrons to re-rack like most good clean gyms. No gym curtesy here. Only positive is it’s open 24hrs during the week and close to my home. It’s crazy cause every other La fitness in other states I visited are so clean n professional.
I spend more time looking for the weights that I need than I do working out at this gym. There were even times where I found one of the dumbbells I needed and then got stolen as I was going to pick up another one right in front of me. Bad gym culture and not a good gym for people who are serious about working out.
Anyone know what they used to fill the old punching bags with? Not the current aqua punching bags, but the bags before that (maybe 2-3 years ago). Also, would those punching bags be classified as a banana bag?Only asking cause these were great bags that didnt get hard towards the bottom.
For the most part the gym is spacious has everything you need for a great workout but yess but. It’s not very clean equipment is mostly dirty and or broken even before the renovations. Staff is okay friendly when they want to be. Best part is they are 24 hours and close to home.
I have encountered several machines that don’t work and repairs appear to be random and occasional. The situation is made worse by some patrons. Unfortunately you don’t get to pick the patrons. Some patrons occupy equipment while making little use of the equipment. There should be a room for the exercise of conversational socialization. Maybe then people would go have conversations in designated area and leave machines for people who actually come to work out.Today is November 30, 2019 & I am updating my review of LA Fitness. The entire center is being renovated. Some of the new machines have been available and I must say if these machines are what is to come for future workouts, I am excited to try the rest of them. I’ve gotten a much better workout on the new equipment. If they could only do something about the chatters who occupy equipment. I guess you can’t have everything. Much better, will update if possible when renovations are completed. 💪🏼
PLEASE GET MORE WEIGHTS.Or please start to practice the habit of placing all weights back to where they belong allowing others to be able to get their work out in.I know this is easier said than done. However this habit will only stem once we see enough people do this. It’s like you want to progress further in your fitness journey but you can’t find the weights... feeling a bit stuck here guys! #SOS.Otherwise this gym is extremely spacious allowing various fitness enthusiasts to thrive in their own way & at their own groove!
How are you a signature club but dont have enough weights. All the plate racks are empty. You literally have to go hunting around the gym to get some 45lb plates or any weighted plate. Another thing is they have this huge dumbell rack but what for? There are no dumbells on it! They spent so much money on renovations but people come to the gym to lift. LA needs to spend money on weights!
It’s a relatively inexpensive gym and close to my home which is why I joined, however this location has really become run down. They are making small cosmetic upgrades but it there are countless pieces of broken equipment, the locker room is beyond run down and has an odor of mold and mildew. The sauna is filthy as well as the carpets. Despite everything mentioned that is not my biggest issue with this location. The staff is essentially non existent. I go many early mornings and the gentleman at the entrance is sleeping most of the time. I never see a housekeeper. There’s no security at all. I’m beyond disappointed with this gym.
I have discussed with the managers for the past six months regarding numerous treadmill’s upstairs that don’t work as well as the upstairs stair steppers. Excuses are always made that they put in work orders, however, the the equipment remains broken. The treadmills are rocky and unstable when you run. The rotating stairs click and wobble.
Called to ask if its possible to freeze my gym membership when COVID just started, the rep on the phone told me that they have automatically froze all memberships because they will be closed for few months. It turned out my membership wasnt frozen and I found out a freeze membership option on their website which wasnt mentioned by the rep at all ($35 up to 6 months).I have accumulated 30+ personal training sessions due to COVID, logged back in recently, it got reset back to 0. Im not sure if this is intentional or an app bug.Website and mobile applications are poorly designed with missing functionalities.
Its convenient because its 24 hours, thats about it. The bathrooms are dirty, the equipment doesnt look like it gets cleaned and the free weights are everywhere. They need to hire experienced workers or train them better. I use to come to this location a lot a few years ago and it was never like this. Its trash now, granted its not expected to be spotless because its still a gym. No one should be seeing the same stains and dirt for over a week though. Ive seen a protein shake spill on a machine and it was still there days later. Thats just nasty bro. I travel a lot so Ive been to LA fitness centers in Cali, Arizona, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Florida, Georgia and Massachusetts. This location has become the dirtiest one Ive been to. Being that its a huge facility and 24 hours, youd think theyd be on top of it. Im a huge fan of LA Fitness, but this place needs to get it together bro.
I joined the gym, but I have to say my experience wasnt that great. Once signed they really dont acknowledge you at all, your just a number, which I can understand since its a big gym and this is how they survive. But I feel that they should work on not letting you feel as if they are only interested in your wallet. The gym its self is actually nice and very clean I cant say anything negative about that at all.
I live in the Bay Area but visit Garden City Park to spend time with my family. Whenever Im in the area, I exercise at LA Fitness. Eric and his staff are very nice and welcoming. The facility is clean and the gym has a positive vibe to it. There are plenty of treadmills and exercise bikes, machines, and mat areas to stretch/do calisthenics. There are also 3 squat racks which are usually available, especially at off-peak hours. Overall, a great place to get your workout done!
Gym facility itself is pretty good. However, when it comes to the dumbbells, theyre simply all over the place. The dumbbells are usually not on the racks and then you have to search around the gym for them. Another thing to note is that some of the machines are out of service , which is a shame. However, one good part about the gym is that there is a locker room that you can use that doesnt require keys. It allows you to make a 4 digit PIN, and then you can access it later without having to buy your own lock!
Theyre undergoing a renovation and the gym looks like a really cool place to work out... BUT the organisation and gym etiquette here is absolutely horrendous. The weight rack is 85% empty, all the time... With random barbells and dumbbells scattered across the whole gym. The constant clutter makes it difficult for someone to set up an area for a circuit without People stealing your weights. If youre here just to use the cardio equipment then this is the place for you. All in all, For the price of a membership and amount of members they recruit, they should be able to easily afford to hire a clean up team for the floor space.
Huge gym. Almost every machine one could ask for. A pullover machine would be great btw 😉🙏🏾. My only complaint is that its a complete pain in the a** to find dumbbells and plates. Nothing is labeled in the dumbbell area. I know its not a complete solution but it would be great if that can be worked out.Otherwise, I feel like a kid in a candy store 😁
Not professional at all, poor customer service.Trying to cancel a membership which they said is cancelled but continuously still charges me four months in a row and not refunding my money.Never trust this gym, youre better off ordering weights and equipment on your own than to be scammed by this company.
I love this gym! Have everything that I want for a gym. Swimming pool, a lot of machines and the place is big. You never will wait for a machine because there are enough of it. It is very clean, bathroom are spacious, there are a nice jacuzzi, people are nice as well.

2022-03-03It’s very spacious. Lots of room and different equipment; the popular ones tend to break. Of course they are busy hours. Staff is nice though. It’s pretty expensive. I signed up for a personal trainer and I don’t think it’s worth it. Very impersonal and seem like just another client. No one to really hold you accountable even if you are mentally determined. Gym fee + personal training isn’t worth it. You’re better off following someone on YouTube and bring that into the gym to learn. Also the locker room is disgusting. Would rather hold my pee until I get home. Will not be renewing membership :)

2022-04-02Gym is big. Parking lot is spacious. The gym can get really crowded during late nights and weekends.Dumbbell rack is at most 20% filled, in wrong places. No idea where the rest areBench are nearly impossible to use when its after work hours and weekends. Some people wipe down before/after machine use, some don’t.Few masks, most don’t.Most people carry their own bags while working out, since other reviews about break-ins in the locker room and unsupportive staffs seems to be true. (Don’t leave bags in your car)Basketball court is packed. Hard to get a game since there are people constantly waiting. Court closes a bit earlier than gym hours.Swimming pool has maybe 5-6 lanes not that packed, see maybe 3-4 people average using it when I’m there.Group classes can get packed depending on the schedule and class type. Only way to find out is reserve and see for yourself. Most of the machines are working. Few needs some maintenance to be done.Trainers pressure you really hard on Personal Training. Some trainers are nice some just wants you to enroll for the money. So if you think its worth it, read others review and use your best judgement. I personally think its not worth it at this gym. (Most reviewers thinks the same)Overall its a big gym. Less interaction with unsupportive staff seems both ideal and beneficial for you in this gym. Grab your bag, do your workout, grab a drink, and head out.3-stars for the size, parking, and location/hours.

2022-04-03Decent gym. Has lots of equipment. CrossFit area, basketball courts and racquetball. Could improve on upgrading machinery. Gets crowded between 5-7pm. You get what you pay for.

2022-02-22Staff lie about fixing basketball court and close the gym for 4 days. Lockers are the same as when It 1st opened. No new amenities, towels, etc. Bathrooms are dirty need to be renovated. They stalk you and say you cant train anyone if your not a trainer so I had to tell my wife she needs to come here and be trained by a professional instead of me..... I was Harrased by a guy named Austin in the Farmingville location only to watch him for 2 days straight not move a muscle to critique or stop anyone from group training or 1 on 1 training after I was told hed been watching me for 3 days train a family member.

2022-06-03Very nice big spacious gym they claim the biggest L.A. fitness in the country. All though its the biggest gym I ever attended in my life. It is also THE MOST CROWDED GYM I HAVE EVER ATTENDED AT THE SAME TIME. Worth every cent and this gym is far ahead of other LA fitness gyms. Clearly the best gym, not all LA fitness has basketball courts and 2 locker rooms each. Great gym.

2022-01-05My favorite location ! Huge and has lots of equipment. Has a filtered water machine in case you forgot your water at home. Some parts of the gym is under construction but they still manage to keep it clean and organized. The racket ball areas could be cleaned more because Im always picking up hair with my ball but other than that I love this location.

2022-01-23I love that this facility has some days where they are open 24 hours. They do a good job with spacing and have ample equipment available for their patrons. Also, being a bigger facility, they have the staff to work with you whether as trainers or to sign up at a plan that works for you. Im glad this is my home facility. They could do better enforcing the mask mandate but there are sprays and towels available to help

2022-02-24Disgusting and awful upkeep And maintenance of what could have been a very nice gym, absolutely no attention paid to proper maintenance and management of the equipment, weights, and other facilities such as Jacuzzi and bathroom which is beyond disgusting, for lack of a better word. No attention paid to cleanliness of the premises are and making sure that the weights are properly stack, takes me more than 30 minutes to find dumbbells in the gym and they’re always scattered and hard to fine. The attitude of the staff and faculty members needs a lot of work which alone can help does Gym had an a positive direction

2022-01-03I have been getting Trained by Ellen for the last 8 months and I am so happy to have her as a trainer. She is flexible with how I want to workout and really takes into consideration my health. I was new to this gym and wasn’t sure how to begin. She really made me comfortable with the different types of machines and exercises. I would 100% recommend her for anyone looking for a trainer at LA Fitness.

2022-03-16I dont go here but I went in to ask for directions. The girl at the front desk and one of the trainers at the gym were having a conversation about their previous night. On three occasions, she glanced my way and rolled her eyes and went back to her conversation about how the trainer didnt call her. Extremely unprofessional. And when I finally got her attention, her reply was two words. Dont know. Then she went on her phone.Granted my experience isnt about the gym itself. It seems like people entering were just scanning their IDs so they probably have little to no contact with the front desk. So maybe this is a great gym. Maybe the equipment is clean and plentiful, and the other trainers are attentive and motivating. No idea. I just know that this girl and that trainer made me equate this LA Fitness with unhelpful, rude employees that apparently ghost each other after hanging out for the night.
