This place is a sleeper! If you want authentic Spanish and Dominican cuisine then this should be your only stop. The food in the place blows Salsa Latina out of the water!!!! The only problem I believe is that the food is only served between lunch hours! Their empanadas are amazing and their prices are extremely low for the quality and the amount of food you get!I go here at least once a week! Everytime I eat here I get a sense of nostalgia from when I was a child eating homecooked spanish food!
Ok... So friendly to fair customer service, be careful with their take out food, its left opened... Sometimes there are flies around the produce they sell which is right across their hot food... Their meats on display have looked grey... They sell typical Spanish foods.. cold meats, and goya brands. Not stroller friendly entry nor aisles.
A lot of the stuff they sell is expired. Bought sour cream it was half mold. . They gave me another sour cream that was mold to. Cheese I bought was expired. Cooking oil was expired. Then they give Me attude when I tell them somethings expired and yet kept selling it. Prices vary with different people on shift. Besides The dominican store food on Clinton ave taste better.
Definitely THE Latino store in Albany NY. The have ready made food to buy by the plate full. Its a huge market. Fresh meats, latino pastries, veggies, and the usual super market stuff. Its a one stop shop. Dont forget to pour a small shot of hot sauce to go. Its home made. People are nice. Usually a Puerto Rican crowd hear, but welcoming to all.
I’ve been to this location many of times, for years but this is it I bought a empanada bit into it the grease was so old it was cooked in it was inedible. Not to mention I literally was nausea and ended up not feeling well after consuming chicken & plantains, food was definitely old.

2022-06-02Im new to the area. Im Dominican and I was needing some really good comfort food as the moving was stressful. I was so pleased that food is authentic and delicious! 2022-05-04I really use to love their food but since last year or so its just not the same. The meats seem dry and old, it doesnt matter what time is day you go in. Rice was hard a couple times recently, this never use to be the case but Im afraid at this point its off our list.

2022-03-08Ive been there in a while but they have all kinds of vegetables and meats there to purchase the large selection of Spanish variety foods. The people who work are very pleasant speaks English and Spanish fluently.

2022-01-24Charged me $7 for a small roast pork with yellow rice!!! The portion was too small. The food didnt even have flavor. I been going there for 15 years. To be honest, the food hasnt been what it used to be for a while. The prices are too high now.

2021-06-20The best Spanish food in Albany PERIOD! There is another good store on South Pearl that is great, but this store beats them hands down. My only regret is having to order through third-party sites for delivery. Which makes me not get it as much. But when I do, Im in heaven. FIVE STARS.

2021-02-06The food is old.. the rice is cooked once early in the day and is never fresh. The meat sits underneath heat lamps all day long. Its overpriced for the poor quality of food. The produce is all rotting and has flies swarming it. A real hole in the wall place. Not going back.

2019-09-25Everything is fresh and presented nicely. Very popular place with all of the locals. The cooked to go food is a must if you are going to be in Albany. So much variety and the Spanish food is way past delicious. I travel from Troy for their food. A guaranteed smile on your fave.

2021-02-17They have a good variety of Latin products but they are very expensive. They charge u double or sometimes triple the price of a supermarket. I might shop there again but for very little stuff. They are taking advantage of the Latin people and they themselves are Dominicans.
