I got a take out lunch at La Scala..we had chicken and veal parm heros. It was delicious and cheesy!! Its a beautiful restaurant that is wheelchair accessible. Nice looking bar. The service here was great. Ample parking and clean facility. They have also have a more comprehensive dining menu.
I normally don’t take time to write reviews, but I felt that this establishment deserves to know what is going on in their restaurant. First, La Scala has always been a mainstay in my family but also in my community. It has always been a solid choice for pizza, catering, or a good meal, but unfortunately for them, times have certainly changed and so has their quality and service. I am not naive or unreasonable, in the restaurant industry things do go wrong regularly (meals do not come out right, hair in food, etc…), all of these things are inevitable, but the difference between restaurants that are consistently good and those that aren’t are when those situations do arise, how do the staff/management deal with it? Enter Carlos. My father had posted a review about this situation on Google as well, but I felt the need to post a review having been the recipient of the undercooked chicken. Now, normally this situation wouldn’t warrant a review as things do happen and I am always very nice and understanding about these situations. But the absolute careless and nonchalant attitude of Carlos as a manager has prompted this review. When we arrived, we had asked to speak to the manager that my father had spoken to and the two hostesses in the front (very nice) had went to get Carlos. In that time, maybe 10 minutes, a couple had left and complained to the hostesses that they hadn’t been served and left angrily. Also within that time I had overheard another couple leaving disgruntled and complaining about undercooked fish. Needless to say, it wasn’t a good night for the restaurant. As Carlos approached us he started off apologetic, and I had shared my empathy and understanding but that immediately was washed away by his abrupt and careless attitude. It was almost as if this wasn’t the first time he was dealing with this situation and he was annoyed that we had brought it to his attention yet again. My father had mentioned how upset he was being a patron there for years and that my mother and him go there at least once a week. Carlos began by saying “What do you want me to do about it? There is nothing I can do we are making a new one.” Disgruntled, my father had stated the other complaints (which he could care less about) and that “if things like this keep happening word of mouth gets around” to which Carlos responded annoyed, “I know how word of mouth works.” He asked for the check and walked to the computer and credited my father back the money for the meal and went to get the replacement meal. In a couple of minutes he returned with the meal and we had left. Before leaving the parking lot I checked to make sure everything was there and that the chicken was actually cooked. In the bag the sides for the dish were missing. At that point, I didn’t care, but my father did, and walked back in. He was met by Carlos, to which my father explained the issue with the new meal. Carlos immediately with an arrogant attitude stated “I don’t know why you are making this a big deal, I’ll just get you the side.” My father immediately looked and said “you know what just take the meal back, I don’t want it and I won’t be coming back.” Carlos then responded “ok, goodbye.”While this is a long review and if you have made it this far I commend you (haha), but this was not intended just for the patrons or perspective patrons of this establishment, but it was more meant for the owners. While this situation could have happened to any restaurant (and it probably has) Carlos’ dealing of the matter was subpar at best. An arrogant and disinterested attitude is not the markings of someone that should be a manager, especially in the restaurant industry. As the owner I would be more concerned how Carlos is representing their brand rather than the situation that took place. In this climate where competition is everywhere and restaurant closure rates are at an all time high places cannot afford to have poor customer service. My hope is you the owners evaluate these poor reviews within the last month and work on these issues to better the La Scala brand.
I left one review, but it was removed? So i will leave another. Either your shrimp salad or garlic knots, or both got my wife sick to her stomach,Throw out the product used for these items immediately if they are expired?! Will be requesting a refund through grubhub immediately.
Been there as long as I have been. Great placeRun well clean aways staying modern , updating all thr time not just with food but the place tooStaff is aways going out of the way for you, they are so niceHope it stays there for everBeet you can get oneGlass of wine , Yep sureNo bar to talk about, long Island pizza is Great! They also own a few pizza places on long Island that are also very good
I came in to pick up an order for delivery. Girl looked at the couple who had already been there asked if they ordered. They said yes then she finally got to me. Didnt put the receipt with order was very rude. Came back later for a 2nd delivery was told to wait on line, after 7 people was told my order wasnt ready. The food looks good but the staff is not. Poor service long wait.
This place has a very good and fresh pizza all day long until they close at night. The pasta is great , the stuff are very efficient and friendly .their homemade Italian cheese cake has a good texture and flavor.its a very welcome place that you can pass by even for a good cappuccino and they give the right service
Had pizza there twice and a main dish once. The food and pizza was good. Service was good. The place has a lot of seating. Selection of food was huge and many things looked very yummy. They have outside seating when the weather cooperates, but it is in the main parking lot, so I dont care for it. The only negative I have for the place was cleaniess. I sat down and it was not looking good. Will go back and see if this is an anomly or an issue.
💘Awesome. Delicious💘 & 24 Specialty Pies !! ..What???Being Italian & having been a gourmet specialist- I have to really like an Italian place to recommend it.. I discovered this little Gem while doing a GrubHub delivery, on 12/23. I was so impressed with their presentation & how they handled their incoming customers/ orders , 💘. I had to return that day for lunch! I have since returned Three times (NYE) & FULLY recommend this place - for casual pizza or dining -in. The staff handles it all very well. Their interior is a cozy parlor for casual eats & their dining in interior is comfortable & elegant.💘I Love Pizza 💘 & theirs is THE Best!! Oversized Grandma squares, regular slices & toppings. They are the Home of 24 Specialty Pies!! The Grandma square, & bruschetta squares are double size. of any brooklyn slice...Have that & a regular (neopoltan) & you are done!Their Fried Calmare & Baked Clams are big favorites 4 antipasto, I also💘Fried Zuchini, in a generous size. .. Lunch: La Scala Combination Dishes- #4- is my favorite: Veal Cutlet / Chicken Cutlet/Fried Shrimp & Eggplant rollatine (all done parmagiana ) ++ PASTA!! all for $16.50!!! We also ordered Whole Wheat Fettucine Alfredo Rave Reviews All the Way!Also popular is their Zucchini Noodle Pasta & their Shrimp & Asparagus salad (pictured).. Great Dining space for Holidays & family gatherings. Their Holiday catering was through the roof for Christmas Eve. So order Early.Shout out to both Dominick & Ryan for their great service. The only negative is- the parking. It is in a shopping plaza across from the Bonwit Inn & the smallest area..making it a parking nightmare- during busiest times...
My family has been visiting La Scala since 2002. We went at least twice a month and have never received a less than delicious meal ever! From appetizers to dessert it is always a culinary delight. This is a family owned business that take pride in their food and service and are peesent and hands on everyday! The staff is wonderful from the Chefs to the servers to the counter service and clean up crew! All wonderful and a classy restaurant with huge portions and very reasonable prices. We moved 3 years ago and now live 200 miles away and still make the trip once a month for dinner!! YES IT IS THAT GOOD AND WORTH THE TRIP!! THANK YOU LA SCALA FOR ALL THE YEARS OF DELICIOUS AND PLEASE NEVER LEAVE US!!!
We waited forever to be served!!! Like forever. People came in after my small party and were served before me! I was really on edge! But the garlic knots made the wait all worth it! I’ve eaten many a garlic knot, and these so far are in the best I’ve ever tasted!!! Hands down!
Had my sons rehearsal dinner there - about 40 people. The staff were so professional, the food was delicious, and everything went beautifully. I would definitely recommend this wonderful restaurant to anyone looking for a great Italian meal at a great price with lovely ambience
Ordered for pick up, a pizza and knots, was ready in 20 minutes. First time here but will be back! The pizza wasnt super paper thin, like so many places, had a nice crust and was cooked well -not soggy! Sauce wasnt too salty and wasnt poured all over the pizza in excess! The sausage was good quality and the cheese was generous! The knots were huge! They had a crunchy exterior but soft inside! Overall, really great first impression and will be back to try more of the menu!
Can’t say enough of this place! I’ve been eating here for over 18 years and I still go even now that I don’t live in the area! The grandma slice is my favorite along with the spinach garlic knots! They are very friendly and the staff is always helpful with recommending to you what is good! I grew up eating pizza and this is definitely one of my top 3 on Long Island!
You have to try the pasta purses. They are a cross between a ravioli and a tortellini, but the pasta is more delicate. The six cheese blend inside is to die for and the sauce is awesome. One of the other huge bonuses here is the garlic knots they serve in the bread basket. They are dripping with garlic and butter. Ugh, Im getting hungry! 😂 🤣
Once again it was absolutely spectacular. I ordered the same as last time a slice of pizza and 6 cheesy knots, but the sit-down experience was amazing as well. Though they did not have everything we wanted such as green tea/ peach cobbler like they usually do our waiter Stefano made it worth it. He was so kind about the situation and even made jokes as well. Last time I put everything as a 4/5 because of service, but thanks to him its definitely getting that 5. Well done La Scala!
I had the stuffed eggplant appetizer. It needed a little salt for my taste, so I just added a bit of the mufflata that was served with the bread and olive oil. The appetizer could have been my meal. I couldnt finish it, especially after having a slice of their delicious, thin crust pizza. My husband had the chicken with a light and creamy pesto sauce. Again, it benefited from a little salt. The seafood stuffing on top of roasted tomatoes with the chicken was delicious!
I Uber eats 70 dollars of tasteless bootleg Italian food. Everything was bland the chicken Frances tasted rotten. The fettuccine Alfredo was heavy cream n noodles. If I didn’t know real Italian food I wouldn’t be disappointed but I am highly disgusted with the food and thanks for no utensils 🍴 but you sure overcharged me a side of wine sauce and. Never again I’ll drive to carnival in port jeffferson station, the real Italian spot.
Got a regular slice and grandma slice. Was in the oven for like 15secs. Got to the truck, food was cold. Like a pound of cheese on each slice. The regular slice I picked it up and all the cheese fell off. I threw it out. Id rather starve. I went here as a friend that lives in commack said it was good. I think not, I will NEVER be back.. Theres much better pizza places on this island.
Always good pizza, last night we ordered from the menu outside of that. Pizza was good again, the stracciatelli soup was really good, love how the eggs were so plump in it. My mistake for ordering fired Calamari, as it is seldom good via take out, and they only had soggy rings from the head. I never order again when there are no tentacles. One main complaint...don’t send out a caprese salad with unripe tomatoes. Might as well just say you don’t have it right now...and apologize. Will order pizza again, maybe try the main menu when we can eat there some day.
This pizzeria restaurant has grown over the years, but has continued to serve great Italian dishes. Their concept of giving extras ( garlic knots and brushetta bread ) with your meal continues to add value to your dining experience. Its always hard to decide what to eat when all their choices are made so well. We just keep going back every chance we get. This eatery is a keeper. Well staffed and ample parking available.
Food and service were absolutely wonderful. Food: Delicious, flavorful, presented well. Specials were amazing! Service: Courteous, friendly and attentive. Atmosphere: I wouldnt recommend sitting anywhere except in the booths when it is cold. Very drafty and there is no way of staying warm. 3 stars because of atmosphere, otherwise I would have given 5 stars.
Used to be my go to pizzeria in Dix Hills until I saw an employee wiping down dirty counters and equipment. Afterwards he set a fresh pizza down directly on a spot that was wiped with the dirty rag. When I told them to discard the pie they refused to. Who knows what happens that you dont see. Decided to leave and go to Marios across the street. Marios gets 5 stars for cleanliness, taste, and price.
This place is good. We got the mozzarella sticks which were great ! Then I got the chicken parmesan dinner with steak fries. The dish was a warm to hot which I didnt mind cause I didnt burn my mouth. But my main compliant is the sauce its good but sometimes it was to much. I am more of a fan of dark red sauces mean while the sauce I had was light red so it was a little sweeter which was okay but not what Im used to.Other than that service was great and the staff was friendly I recommend the place!
I visited La Scala for the first time yesterday to attend a birthday dinner. The waiter was eager to take our orders and then not return till he was paged because our drinks were empty. He didnt check on our table the whole evening. Then a large table of teenagers and was too busy to return and see if we needed anything. We had to continue to call over other staff for any of needs that arose. The food although delicious took way too long (over an hour). The portions were large and were correct. One of our party has been up all night with stomach ache from the pollo Mona Lisa. I would return but only for the pizza. Place was very nice and professional.
La Scala has been within this location for many years. The service at lascala is superb. Everyone in that organization is very friendly. The food within itself is superb. Prices are very reasonable. They are practicing social distancing and wearing masks. The food within itself has a great taste not like other pizzerias. I have been going to lascalas for over 20 years. The volume at this Pizzeria always crowded especially during lunch hour. If you want great Italian food go to lascalas
Great local spot, and was bustling with activity in the convenient Togo area, as well as people coming in to dine on a Saturday night! Sadly all I had time for was a Togo order, and the staff at the Togo counter was attentive, and helpful throughout my visit. Both dishes I ordered were delicious, and probably too much food! I will be back, and hopefully to dine in!
Definitely Good Food, in fact a lot of food for your money. Prices are reasonable. Services is ok. But the waiting is too long. They said they remodeled and expanded the place but for me is too small. Reason why. We had reservations and we had to wait at least a good 40 minutes to be seated and we got seated there were people it customer coming in trying to get serve. Needs to improve on location right on the shopping center. Too small to accommodate 50 to 80 customers. Needs a more variety of music and more Appetizer selection.
Love this place. I accidentally got a bad order. My pizza was burnt. When I called them they couldnt have been nicer. I was expecting to have to go pick it up.Instead they were at my door within 15 minutes. Its a 15 minute ride from their place to mine. I will never go anywhere else. La Scala you are awesome.
I travel to the area for work occasionally from out of state and stay nearby. I thought this was just a pizza place. After a long day I stoped in thinking I would just grab some take out.. Then realized theres a full blown restaurant inside. So I decided to eat in. Atmosphere was really good. Because I was alone I sat at the bar. Not 10 seconds later I had bread and bruschetta and water in front of me and my waiter Carlos Sorto giving me the specials and introducing himself. Carlos was great, attentive but not overbearing. I got the Veal Milanese. Big portions and the food was delicious. I’ll definitely repeat next time Im in town.
Worst costumer service Ive ever hadIve been in food and beverage for 22 years. At the counter the people before me were served, as they should be. Then the gentleman behind me was asked for his order. I politely asked if I could order, treated like I wasnt there, I was just looking to get a reg slice. The help behind the counter is clueless, she thought Id been here for awhileTheres a place across the streetSometimes you miss on cooking a dish, but attitude tastes worse
Awful wait! The food was plentiful and delicious. The waitress seemed to be on something. We arrived at 7:15 and were seated immediately. The restaurant was virtually empty. We ordered dinner at 7:30. The place by 8:00 was packed. At 8:45 we still didnt have our dinner. And by that time, the restaurant pretty much emptied out. So we were the first ones there and the last to be served. We will never go again.
Let’s talk pizza. The pizza here is great, the knots are great, the specialty knots are superb, BUT...the prices are insane. The first time I came here I actually thought they gave me the wrong bill. I ordered a large pie (13 and change as per their menu) with 2 toppings, I also ordered 2 cheese garlic knots, only 2. The bill was 30 and some change. I was in a rush and didn’t have time to have them break it down but that doesn’t make much sense to me. Even if you say a pie is 15 and each topping is 3 and then each single garlic knot is 3 bucks that’s only 21 plus tax. I would definitely come here again but the fact is there are pizza places of the same quality that are going to be way less abusive on your wallet.
Compared to Cafe Amici it comes up short. We ordered 2 Mona Lisa dinners. They did not include salad or soup. The sauce was watery and the portion (2) small. Chicken and pasta over cooked. Sauce had red peppers which completely changed the flavor. The red sauce (pasta) was tart. Tables are very close, cafeteria style. Appetizers were good. Service was good.
La Scala IS the best pizza place around. Any kind of slice they have will be one of the best youve ever had. Whenever I have visitors from out of town this is where we go for great pizza. And when they come back they want to come back for more. They doubled the size of the place so theres plenty of room to have a slice or try the rest of the full menu of Italian food.
Bad meat on a hero. What other spoiled food are you serving to the public? My wifes hero had rotten salami on it. The salami was brown and green on the outer edges. How did you not see you put bad meat on a hero? You could see the rot. Thats so gross and I will never come back. Not as a family or my business. This is a second location of yours we no longer go to over bad meat. Starting to see a pattern of a serious lack in quality control. You used to be one of my favorites
Unbelievable food..3rd generation....the owner Daniella was near my server when I asked for half an entree portion (traveling, no fridge in hotel) and she said of course.Husband not so smart....waitress asks if he wants a box (huge, amazing veal special he could not resist) and he explained our no fridge issue...she offers to put it in the kitchen fridge for us to pick up on the way back to PA. Who does that??Im a cook, a foodie....and this food is so well seasoned, layered with flavor (even the plain pizza we took back to 15 yr old son in hotel was spot on) Wish I lived there. (Truth: I at a slice of the cold pizza for breakfast and it was amazing.)Casual attire....excellent upscale food experience.
Worst, blandest pizza Ive ever had!!!!First time ever to New York, I was in the area for business and was hoping to get some good New York style pizza. I was at the restaurant during normal dinner hours. The pizza slices on display looked like they had been there all day, were dried out and not appealing. I understand that the slices have to be warmed up so I took that into account and tried some anyway. Honestly, there werent many options...I think six different pies were on the counter. Both slices that I had were bland and completely lacked any flavor at all. I was SOOOOO disappointed, being that I know there is good pizza in New York...just NOT THERE!!I will give them one thing though, the restaurant had a nice modern atmosphere (not what I was looking for but ehh...to each their own) The counter service was quick, not polite, but quick. The seating was nice, common booths and tables.I wouldnt go there if youre looking for good or authentic though, since modern pop music isnt what I consider authentic Italian.Very disappointing overall!!!
I had been to La Scala some years ago and just went back on my mothers recommendation. She is never wrong. The restaurant is lovely. My friend and I ordered the straw bottle of chianti for $27 and it was delicious. We also shared the Milano salad with arugula, chickpeas goat cheese pine nuts and beets. The dressing was a raspberry pesto which we had on the side. Totally delicious and very large portions. The tuna picata special was very good, served with broccoli rabe. I have to say my favorite was the balsamic chicken...perfectly grilled pounded chicken breast with a light balsamic sauce over spinach with tons of eggplant, portobello mushrooms, peppers and zucchini and comes with sides of pasta or potatoes. We had it with zucchini linguine. Plate was so big, we took home for the next day. Service was great, Jean, our server, was our kind of fun woman. This will definitely be my go to Italian restaurant from now on.
Their take out is fantastic. As is their food. Their ability to host a large party, not so much. I waited a few months to post this in order to be fair to the establishment. I had booked a christening party for 85 people with La Scala. Everything was planned ahead of time. Its important to note that I spoke to the owner and came into the restaurant 3 times to make sure it was ready. I arrived 15 minutes early. NOTHING was set up. My balloons were in the corner. In the area where my guests were sitting people had just sat down for dinner. My party was generating over 3000 for this establishment and we were treated as an inconvenience. We were treated as if it was unimportant. I asked the manager to speak to the owner, Daniella, Several times before I actually could. Eventually they set up, however my family was assisting. It was incredibly embarrassing. WHen they finally got their act together and started serving food, it came out ok. I had to constantly remind them to go around and offer drinks. In the end they took what amounted to ten percent off my bill. The owner justified their mistake and never reached out to apologize personally. What should have been a nice day for my family and I turned into an expensive stressful embarrassment. If you need pizza takeout..they are great...hosting a party..not so much.As an addition, the owner contacted me privately still justifying their terrible job. Stay away.
So I went in to get pizza I was next in line unfortunately the guy who helped me was distracted . First he doesnt even look at me . Then his phones ringing . He has takes the calls walks off doesnt he even apologize that he walked away. Someone else helps who was very nice . The guy comes back doesnt apologize or acknowledging me again . I told him I was helped because he walked away . He acted like I wasnt even there. Then he asked the guy who helped me a question. I answered he said that he was talking to the guy. He was very rude . I will not be going to the restaurant again very unprofessional. If wouldve said please excuse me for one moment I wouldve understand. This service was inexcusable.
Excellent food! Pizza and salads are always great with a huge selection. Especially the La Scala salad which is also great on the salad pie. Sit down menu is also excellent. Chicken parm, linguine and clam sauce and fried calamari are outstsnding.Best garlic knots around. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
This restaurant is our family’s go-to spot for fine Italian cuisine. Usual order is the veal parm with side spinach w/ garlic and chicken stock- outstanding. The children usually get meat lasagna or penne vodka; also delicious. Rigatoni bolognese is a fav of Mrs w/ a red sangria. Sangria is great. No problem with the prices
I attended a Christening Party at La Scala on Sunday, January 27th. I enjoyed the food immensely. However, I did have one of the waiters accidentally spill a drink on my velvet dress. He was incredibly apologetic and even offered to pay for my dry cleaning bill. I decided to take him up on the offer since I didnt think he was actually going to follow through with it. After getting my dress cleaned, I mailed the receipt to La Scala. Within one short week, I had a note with the total funds mailed to me. La Scala has outstanding customer service and I 100% recommend it for delicious cuisine and impeccable customer service.
Restaurant service is typically excellent. The management (Carlos) is a hands on boss and treats the patrons like family! Food is typically excellent with the portions being quite large. Meals are affordable, dollar wise $$.5 out of $$$$$. There is live background music on mondays. Check em out! ps: I never give 5 stars ;o
1st time sitting in the back section with waiter service. The pizza here is decent but we tried a couple of heroes. Meatball Parm and Chicken Parm. Both were good. The chicken was tender and the sauce slightly sweet. The meatball was a bit bland to me but still ok. There was a nice balance of mazzerella and sauce on both and the large Italian bread it came on was very good as well. The only annoying thing for us was long time it took to get the food. It was lunch time but 40 minutes was a bit much when you have an hour for lunch. Otherwise a very goodmeal. The garlick knots served before the meal where excellent.
This place was amazing! I was only in town for 2 days in September 2012, and I ate here twice! One night I had fettucine alfredo in the beautiful dining room with their amazing buttery garlic knots, and the next day at lunch I had their fantastic pizza. And more buttery garlic knots--I swear I could make a meal of them. Service was friendly and quick for both visits. The only way they could improve is if they delivered to Louisiana! I think it says a lot about their food that Im still thinking about it seven months later. :)
LaScala is by far the best Italian restaurant in the area, maybe even on the island. The food is out of this world and the staff make your experience like you’re eating with family on a Sunday night. Take the time to sit in the back and have the best garlic knots in the world. You’re welcome.
The food is good. I had gone to pick up a called in order and the manager is helping everyone but me including people that came in after me. I had to actually tell him I was waiting to be served, his response to this 61 245 lb Black man wasoh, I didnt see you so I will no longer see them
Was liking the place but our last takeout order was disappointing. Two pizzas shouldnt cost $39. We ordered a veggie pizza and were charged $23.95 which is the price for a pizza with the works. All it had on it was a lot of broccoli and some onions. And the pizza wasnt that great. I guess its hit or miss with this place.
Very disappointed with La Scala, went in there today about noon time to have pizza, in the front they have about 5 tables to sit at. In the dining room there are tables for customers who want to be served. Well they are now reserving tables in the front for people and there is no where to sit to eat a slice of pizza. The back was empty and yet they are reserving tables up front. When asking the guy where can we sit, he said there are bar stools,. there are like 3 or 4 stools to sit at right in the place where people are standing ordering pizza which means your getting knocked around while trying to eat. I dont recommend this place unless you plan on doing take out.
I have been here many times and have never been disappointed with the food or service. The place is always busy (a good sign) so be sure t get there early to avoid a wait. They also have a takeout counter where you can get pizza or anything else. On some nights they also have live music.
This place is fantastic. The food is great and the service is super friendly. As far as the review from Kevin James it doesnt say much considering you know what Chefboyardee tastes like. Btw in case you didnt see the pictures on the wall the the real Kevin Jamed the actor eats there as well. They are definitely producing something right considering they are extremly busy.
I ordered lasagna to go and waited 30 minutes after being told 10 to 15.When i got it back to the hotel room I found that no plastic-ware or napkins were included and the lasagna was not hot, full of water and almost all cheese. In their defense, the pizza looked good but I didnt try it.
La Scalas pizza is very good but the rude associates cause me to NEVER go there again. I am extreme pizza lover and had to go there at least once a week but every time I went I felt as if I was not getting the same friendly treatment as other customers. One day I went to La scalas for some garlic knots but I was very picky as to the ones I wanted which I feel I have the right to be since I am the customer, the associate working that day was very rude and instead of giving me the knots I wanted gave me very burnt small garlic knots. Because of this and a few other situations I refuse to go there. There pizza is amazing but I will take my business some where that respects their customers.
So I have to give a one star review for a place I love bc of how horrible the service was tonight. First I preordered my foodie arrived they allowed multiple people who arrived after me to be served first.then I ask for my order to find out they never even put in my order at all so I dont get anything thanks alot really appreciate it and they like you have to wait and they dont offer me anything but a wait really really and how the employees saw there friends and helped them over me as well made it for horrible experience and tried to convince me to buy something else that I didnt order made me feel more uncomfortable hope a manager or owner looks at this and reaches out because my family being ordering from this place since i was like a child Im now 28 really dissatisfied and disappoint in a place that I think use to be the best
I like the food in the dining room very much but I find the pizza quite disappointing. I had a slice tonight after work and before a meeting. I ordered a mushroom slice and it was covered with canned mushrooms, which is disappointing especially since they have real mushrooms.
Alamo slice for spice lovers; this pizza has jalepenos scattered all over, chicken, peppers all on top of a crispy square crust, AMAZING. Side of cheesy knots, cant go wrong. Dining in, be prepared with an appetite; massive servings that youd wish you can finish in one sitting! Classic Romano or chicken parm; easy choices.
Listen. I was traveling for work and desperate for some pasta. Not only did La Scala have A+ penne alla vodka, but I was greeted immediately with bruschetta and garlic knots. That’s essentially the way to my heart. As if this wasn’t great enough, my wine was delivered within two minutes of ordering and they had the CUTEST lady singing and playing keyboard as we dined. She even came over to each guest and said hello and asked for a song request. I had a great time and will be coming back for sure! Thanks for making my solo travel slightly less lonely!
Best plain slice on Long Island. Also, the pasta is delicious when Im not just stopping by for takeout. Sicilian is nothing to write home about, but for anything triangular, skip Emilios and come here. If La Scala started serving thin bar pies, Id have no reason to ever go to Emilios again.
We frequent La Scala 3-4 times a month. We dined there over the weekend and off the special list they had Broccoli Rabe and Sausage Ravioli with Balsamic reduction. We suggested a white cream sauce for our dish and the chef agreed! It had to be the best dish we ever had at LaScala. This dish with the white cream sauce should be a staple on the regular menu.. Please consider!!
LaScala is a family ran restaraunt where the employees really care about your dining expeirance i have eaten at a lot of italian restaraunts and i love LaScala you will not be disappointed if your choice is pizza or any of their fine dishes dine their and prove me wrong

2021-12-25Carlos is a fantastic waiter, he is cordial, polite and extremely professional. Especially tonight that it’s Christmas Eve he is delivering overall excellence and devotion. La Scala Ristorante is a wonderful restaurant to dine at. It has beautiful decor, lovely employees and delicious food that is always served up fresh and hot. Couldn’t be any happier with the service tonight. On behalf of the entire La Scale Ristorante and Carlos may your Christmas be merry and bright and have a safe, healthy and wonderful new year!

2021-12-25I ordered a large and put some in a bowl. Thought maybe what was in my bowl wasn’t mixed up. Minestrone soup…. No noodles, no beans, no other vegetables. Just chunks of carrots and potatoes. Not even the right color broth. Called to inform them to throw it out because it’s awful and they were looking to accommodate me in anyway. I declined because I wasn’t in the mood for the bare minimum but they were very apologetic.

2022-07-06Solid regular slice. Dough is a bit thick if you like it like that. I usually prefer it to thin and crispy.Good amount of chicken on buffalo slice.

2022-07-06Ate here a few days ago (07/02/2022). This is one of my favorite pizzerias (despite it being a 20 minute drive from me) ever since I discovered it many years ago when I used to work in the area. I would come here for lunch every couple of weeks or so for their buffalo chicken pizza, which was absolutely outstanding! Buffalo chicken pizza from every other pizzeria (that Ive been to - there have been many) is made the same way, with a very spicy orange sauce thats just too hot for me. LaScala, though, uses a completely different recipe, with a slightly spicy white sauce and chunks of blue cheese. It is transcendent! Or, at least, it used to be. On my most recent visit, my two slices were not quite as flavorful as they used to be. I think that this place is skimping a bit on their blue cheese. But they were still very good, better than youd get at many other places. Also, they have a very nice outdoor seating area just in front of the restaurant. IMHO, this is still one of the best pizzerias on Long Island.

2022-04-05The food was very good, this place came recommended. My wife and I gave it a shot because we need a place to cater our sons engagement party. Well they got the job, free delivery, free bread, free garlic knots and free salad. Other places could not do that for us, and their prices were about the same. It is a party for about 100 guests. Well another part of the project taken care of.

2022-04-04My Wife and I have come to this place every weekend for the past three years and intermittently the years prior. The service has always been exemplary and the food has always been great however tonight we ate in the dining room as usual and experienced delayed service. Additionally we ordered 2 To Go meals for my son and his wife which we delivered to them only to have my son contact me to FaceTime and show me the chicken was raw. I contacted the restaurant and spoke with the manager Carlos who said to come in and he will give us another dinner. He was completely disinterested. I advised we will be back in with the undercooked meal and advised we would accept a different dish in its place. My son and I arrived and while we were kept waiting, within 10 minutes a couple complained that no one has even attempted to come to take their order for /2 hour while others were being served who arrived after them. In addition, a different couple left and said their fish was undercooked. While Carlos brought us another meal I explained what we experienced in the past 10 minutes. I thought it was important he should know there was a problem. He literally could care less. My son and I decided to check out the dinner before we left and they completely omitted the entire dish which was the pasta that would be included. I returned the meal to Carlos and advised he should not have allowed this meal to come out incomplete especially after had to drive there again since there was a problem already . He looked at this as if it wasnt a big deal and a joke. When I advised I will never come back again he said OK. Result: I will never come to this establishment again. I would advise extreme caution before anyone ever spends another dollar here. In a time that is most difficult for businesses to stay alive, it is clear the voice of La Scala (CARLOS) has expressed that they dont care what anyone has to say. Very disappointing to say the least .

2020-07-24Delicious pasta and sauces. Excellent service when you dine in house. Nice wine selection. When you get food to go, it taste just as good as if you ate there. Pizza smelled so good, we had to grab a slice while we waited

2022-04-04Food was good, but it used to be different. Dont know if new chef, but the go-to meal that Ive been getting for years, changed, and when I asked the server said it was always that way. The place is still great and always will go back
