Cant stand it anymore, stinks and too much riff raff all down hill. Dont go its a depressing drug den. I never ever went there except for when they had Thursday and square other than that thats what I see when I go buy it it sucks.
Fun and relaxing chill spot. Sometimes people give away free food for the homeless here. Its very pleasant to watch the city around you as you eat your picnic lunch too.

Its in a center of a busy place, ample benches and a nice marble fountain surrounded by grass and tall and shady trees. Overlooked by the Erie Library and located adjacent to public + espresso it is a really nice area to sit down and take a break. Good spot for cyclists.
Nice place to relax and read or have lunch. Close to the library, restaurants and food trucks. Catch the trolley or local busses.
This is a great place to just sit and relax, and read a book that you just borrowed from the Central Library. In worse times I sat here when I had no home to go lay my head. I sat there for several hours asking for answers to find me a place to live and I got NO answer. I had to find shelter at St. Lukes for a few years until I found a place. Take a good look around at the Soldiers and Sailors monument and the detail involved.
It is a very nice place to read or hang out and east lunch. But there are alot of homeless people in the area. So its hard to sit and enjoy yourself or lunch when people are coming up to you being for change.

Located within walking distance from DT. Awesome staff and large rooms, plus they have a nice bar/restaurant downstairs.

Small Peaceful and historic park surrounded by tall buildings, shaded by the right amount of trees, but the vagrants and homeless around here needs to be put in check.

I just moved up here from Westchester county, Buffalo City has some of the most beautiful architects Ive ever seen
Its a nice but small park, with a big statue in the middle. Nice place to sit outside and eat your lunch on a warm day.
Let me ask everyone in Buffalo, an even those that come to visit is Lafayette Square somewhere You would take your children to have a lunch or just to sit an relax? How can you when there is always garbage empty beer or liquor bottles, drug baggies or worst yet needles?!
Good place to sightsee if you dont mind homless people. But the PD sit there most of the day to keep things in check. If you come to buffalo, put it on your list of things to see.

Less traffic and slow business activities. The office I visited was closed due to Covid-19. Abnormal situation indeed.

2021-07-31Nice stop as part of a walking tour of the area. Be sure to keep looking up as most of the great sites are above your head. Go on the weekend when the traffic is lighter. And be prepared to be asked for favors of money from the local homeless population. (They were harmless.)

2020-03-04I know there is alot of history at this small sized park. Unfortunately, I am not the person to ask about that history. I do know alot of activities happen here such as, parades, food trucks, protesting and other community activities. I think its best during the warmer weather to visit, unless you dont mind the cold.

2019-09-04Lafayette Square is a small public green space at the eastern portion of Downtown Buffalo between the public library and the Liberty building. At the center of the park is the Soldiers and Sailors monument. The park is a great shared space, and Im glad to see the police leaving the homeless alone during the day. The park was quite busy on a weekday afternoon, but there are plenty of seating area for everyone to just relax and chill.
