This is not my favorite airport. It seemed like it was not built for efficiency. The new terminal D is nice, but transferring to Terminal C was a complicated walk with bags and the fact you had to get on a bus to go across the runway just seems not safe and dangerous.
I think the very very veryy long construction period seems to be worth the wait! Extremely polished, beautiful artwork, even pretty bathrooms?? There are an unnecessary amount of fancy stores BUT the newly renovated airport is beautiful and very clean and orderly and hope it stays this way!!
Not really much to eat on terminal level, especially after 5pm. Didnt even see a food vending machine. Bathrooms are clean and easy to see if they are open or in use. I came through the airport as a connecting flight, so no idea how security check is. Space is clean though and seems safe enough. Check in for flights status 30min early.
The Very Modern rebuilt LGA airport is amazing 👏 Apart from architectural elegance it offers a Splendid portrait of city life, culture and cosmopolitan ventures. Its been very thoughtful in design, comfort and commute. So, make your next plan way through LGA - the world 🌎 heritage gateway, I believe you will enjoy it much❤
LaGuardia Airport is located much closer to Manhattan than John F. Kennedy International Airport. You’ll cut your taxi bill in half by flying into LaGuardia over JFK. Past that, it’s a great airport with lots to offer. Don’t forget to check out the amazing fountain they have there. That crazy thing can even spell.
The revamps theyre doing in LGA are amazing. Theres shops and places to eat. The new look is very inviting, and theres plenty of seating. You can sit alone and enjoy views of the planes, or tune into the televisions, and theres table and chair set ups with plants and trees to give you a cozy setting. If you like taking pictures to capture the memories there are a bunch of photo ops all around the terminals.Theres a new set up for ride shares like Lyft and Uber, its well organized, follow the passenger bridge signs.
The newly renovated LGA is stunning - clean, upgraded, and thoughtfully design. The signage is clear and installed with the latest tech to make tracking your trip/bag easy.If you’re waiting at the airport, the shops are new, modern, and fun to browse. If you’d rather sit, stop by the fountain which feels like a smaller, more updated version of what the Bellagio would be (much smaller, but still impressive)
This airport has improved greatly after construction. Upstairs appears to be still undergoing renovation. Helpful staff worked efficiently at solving my flight issue at one point. What I noticed is that the newly renovated spaces are clean, bright, and spacious; easier to navigate now and find gates thanks to updated large screens and signs; ample variety of seating available everywhere you look, offering more private spaces from small café-style tables for 1-2 people to high-top countertop seating with outlets for charging! While on a layover, I had THE BEST sandwich from Beechers. The staff was extremely kind and attentive on my first visit (had lunch on a layover) but, rude and dismissive on the second visit (another layover). I watched as one of the two cashiers completely ignored the long line, walked away to the back without speaking to her coworkers about where she went or why, leaving them frustrated. It was clear there is an inconsistent lack of decent customer service skills unfortunately. However, my sandwich (which was the one sweet and kind cashiers recommendation) was out of this world! Great shop across from Beechers called Gotham News offers snacks, beverages, reading materials, and even -yikes! *overpriced*- neck pillows 😱
Took the first flight out, was empty. TSA went quickly, not a lot of stores were open but I got what I needed.Could put a Starbucks in or something. The fountain is a vibe, very much enjoyed just sitting and vibin with a friend by it for 45 minutes while waiting for the rest of the group.Easily accessible gates.I gave it 4/5 because the water fountains werent working and thats something that need to be working in a place like this.
Wow, job well done NY. This will now be the airport I arrive in and depart in for my trips to NYC. Overall my arrival and departure from LGA was great experience, easy process, fast to get my terminal, bag checking in was easy, the chioces inside the was just great. the design and layout is inviting and easy to get around. the ride share pickup was really easy. Just Overall Great. Flew in and out with Jetblue which was good trip overall.
Let’s turn those 2 stars to 5!!!!Will admit, this USED TO BE the worst airport ever , BUT They did a Reno! What a world of a difference! No more low ceilings! High class airport for a high class town?! Lolthey also have very organized ride-share parking lot. It is a bit of a walk - but well thought out.
Its probably the second most favorite airport in New York City for the travelers across the globe, in general, and the denizens of New York City, in particular. Some of the sections of the airport are undergoing renovation at this moment (12/2/2021). Once the renovations are completed, I hope the airport would look a little bigger and some services will improve as well.
Fabulous rebuild of an outdated airport! As of early November 2021 there is still more work to do. That said, this airport is now a joy to use.One note- at this point of time it’s a long walk from curbside to the Delta check-in and can be a long walk to the gates for Delta and to the old American gates. Likely that news will be obsolete by early 2022 as the construction is completed.Inside security you will now find a nice selection of food and drink plus reasonable shopping. And worth taking time (once) to watch the waterfall.Congratulations to the airport authority.
Maybe its because Im not as familiar with this airport in comparison to my home airports of Hartsfield or DFW but Ive never been more confused and so close to missing a flight because of it. After getting off the plane here for a layover, I was directed to the wrong gate. By pure observation I realized this was not the right place for my departing flight. I needed to be on the other side of the airport to be at a gate by the same name. All this construction does not help. Luckily, I was not the only 1 trying to get there. There were several of us getting to the gate where they had moved the other passengers. So, we were taken by shuttle where the new boarding location was, I was grateful.
LGA is a great airport conveniently located in Queens area. It has 4 terminals and there are shuttle services between terminals and rental car facilities. It is just around 10 miles away from Midtown Manhattan. You could spend as little as $7 to reach from Manhattan to LGA if you take subway + Shuttle Bus. Thats how conveniently this airport is located. Facilities are good and they are improving as the day goes BUT there are some things they can improve on. Read below.I have taken 2 stars away because it is not really handicap friendly. They always need assitance to transfer between gates. There are no ramps and distance between some of the gates are so far away ( e.g D93 to D10) and especially during last min gate changes to flights is very inconvenient for handicap and disabled. I hope this is resolved after they reopen the new terminal facilities.
I went to Terminal B recently, and it is night and day from the old LGA. The new terminal is beautiful. Full of artwork, thoughtfully designed, and easily walkable. Plenty of shops, and new bathrooms. Although the sinks are a little annoying in the bathrooms. Highly recommend.
Currently the airport is under a ton of construction however the plans look extremely promising for when it is complete. With that being said, access to any of the terminals its still quite simple and lots of staff are present to help. The airport has many connections to the New York City subway which is great and quick. All customer pickup areas (Uber or Lyft) are easily identifiable.
Terminal B still under construction. Very slow for TSA. They had 1 line for TSA Pre just as long. Then there was Priority/TSA Pre they sent you to front of line. It was confusing the TSA Agent wasnt sure which line to send us thru. Very long walk so give plenty of extra time
Idk why you wouldn’t sign up for TSA pre or Clear. The regular line for security clearance at these big airports, like LaGuardia, are 30-45 min wait times or more vs the shorter TSA or Clear lines. The line for Clear was one minute and that was for me to get find my boarding pass on my app.
The new LGA is really nicely designed. It’s very efficient, clean, and beautiful. I’m not sure what it was like before this upgrade because this was my first flight into LGA. But what I saw and experienced in Terminal B (Southwest) was impressive. The food court and lounge views were the highlights for me. I’ll be back soon!
LaGuardia airport. I am flying from this airport a few times a year. Terminal B is very spacious fast easy open concept. Priority line is very fast. United Club, Air Canada Maple Leaf lounge and American Express lounge are continently located ( Unfortunately Maple leaf lounge still closed). Overall experience very good
Wow this renovation is very impressive. Airport is clean, and very well designed. The parking areas have been improved and dropping off/picking up are easier than ever. The new security checkpoint moves faster with common sense improvement. I am a huge fan of the tile they selected for the bathrooms
Wow the New Terminal B at Laguardia Airport looks amazing and is designed very well. The checking was so smooth and fast for both TSA/Pre and non-TSA/Pre passenger. Once entering the walkways you get a great view large wide windows, alot of escalators and moving walkways to assist walkers. The terminal very roomy with plenty space for walkers, the sitting passengers and shoppers. There are a ton of shops and food choices. The rest rooms are very modern for no need to touch anything except a door handle since there are motion detection on the toilets/urinals, sinks and soap/papertowel dispensers.
Its a fine airport. Lately travelers have been nothing but positive. Compared to the crumbling, leaking, dark, narrow, smelly old terminal, this is Xanadu. To be honest I prefer traveling out of LGA over EWR only for the convenience. If your looking for a world class travel experience, United Airlines out of EWR is your go to in the NYC area. Covid is putting a damper on alot of peoples travel plans, but were still pretty busy.Cheers.
Weve never been there but have heard horror stories about it my entire life. Just picked up 3 family members there, hesitantly I must say, and it was the most pleasant experience I have ever had at an airport. I even had to go in and use the restroom while waiting so I got to see the inside and EVERYTHING was so clean and shiny and inviting. Our new airport for sure from now on.👍👍👍👍👍
How is it possible at spirit/JetBlue terminal that there would only be 2 TSA People checking people in and were too busy even to verify if some people were actually passengers. There was such a back up that the 2 hours I waited only got me on the plane because the spirit flight was late. Either TSA or Spirit/JetBlue or LGA doesnt have it together. The picture attached was after waiting 1.5 hours
One of the nicest, cleanest airports i have been to. Remodel looks amazing, best view ever whenever you look out a window. Absolutely how an airport SHOULD be. For people who care (i personally do not) they have a paper straw only rule for their restraunts and are a green alternative airport. Car charging stations available, easy to navigate the airport, although the section i was in for my flight had a lackluster of options for food, of which they had run out of most of the main menu items already anyways. Great airport.
I love the new LaGuardia... what a great improvement over the old one; beautiful! Lots of tile, the floors shine, the ceilings are high, and the bathrooms are also very impressive. I also love the various seating options and the wide variety of restaurants available. The digital signs telling you when the Q70 train is leaving is also very helpful. What a pleasure to fly into and out of this airport now...Thank you New York!
The Airport was very clean not dirty or anything like I have seen at other major traffic airports. I do have to commend ABM Supervisor Tsering Dhundup from traffic control. This ABM supervisor was very helpful in getting my elderly mother and toddler to the Southwest counter. He made sure we were provided great customer service because a good person is someone who shows genuine care for other individuals. I sure did appreciate all he did for my family. Kudos to you, sir. Thanks so much for guiding us thru the process.
The airport is finished with nice murals and plenty of great feeling interior design which feels definitely upgraded. Restaurants of common variety every where and nearer to the gates. Which is a plus according to me.The stalls on the side are great too. Staff from airport services is friendlier too. Wheel chair service team is definitely warm. Bathrooms clean. There are quite a few water fountains and refill stations.Am happy to be here at this airport after 4 years.
Everything is so clean and new. Airport staff is genuinely helpful and caring. Happy to see a commitment to showcasing local wine and food.🥂 Be prepared to walk a bit to catch the M60 bus. Its far away with the current setup, but looks like it will improve in the future after the construction is complete.
Flying into and out of Terminal B (SWA, Air Canada, others) at LGA is a DREAM and a vision of what the future LGA will be once all construction is complete. Very calm, stress-free setup with clear signage and open, airy spaces make a transit very pleasant! Well done, LGA & NYC!If you find this review helpful, please give it a thumbs up--Thanks! 👍🏿👍🏾👍🏽👍🏼👍🏻
I cant believe I am writing this about LaGuardia Airport but have to say well done Port Authority. The renovations are good most importantly security was a breeze even when packed. The double row of bins at bag check is genius. The aesthetics of the new terminal are pleasant modern rain fountain included. Food options a more food court than restaurant and prices are high. Gates are a bit of a hike with multiple escalators.
Convenient location for Laguardia Airport with a free shuttle. But very worn out hotel. Chairs in breakfast area almost with holes in fabric. Multiple large carpet stains. Wallpaper in room peeling. Breakfast nothing to write home about other than its free. Surprised to see a Marriott in this poor of condition.
I havent flown from LaGuardia in a very, very long time. I mean decades. For the most part Ive been using JFK and BDL since I live in CT. But, we found a good deal on a JetBlue flight from this airport to Orlando International. A deal that made me choose it over my frequent flying airport. This airport has gone through some very necessary and important renovations in the last few years. The airport does look better from what I remember and some pictures that Ive seen from other users. First of all, the airport parking is very limited and expensive. I reserved a parking spot on a near-by hotel and used their shuttle service to get to and back to the airport. Its a much cheaper option. Second, the on going construction around the airport makes movement slow and congested. I used Terminal B. There are four levels in this airport. Level 1 is ground transportation, buses and shuttle services (drop-offs, pick-ups). Level 2 is for Arrivals with bag carousels and access to other ground transportation like taxis, private vehicle pick-ups and ride-sharing services. Level 3 is for Departures. Here you will find your airline check-in counter, kiosk and TSA terminal security. The counters are setup in islands. Everything feels and looks very sleek and modern. Though there were a lot of people trying to get through it, we moved quicker than in JFK. I believe they are implementing a new system here. Once in you go up to a Level 4 were you will pass through some shops before walking to your gate. The set up its actually pretty cool. There was a long walk to our gate. I think more and better food options are needed. The gate area feels congested. It feels tight. Especially, since there is a lot of traffic. I believe that they are still working on some things and that after cleaning up the construction mess it would look even better. But, parking needs to be greatly improved.
My first time flying into New York, and I was absolutely stunned by how magnificent Terminal B was. Very large restrooms, spacious sitting areas, corridors that positively gleamed, and restaurant upon restaurant. A person could easily spend hours and hours exploring everything the terminal had to offer. A very, very impressive introduction to New York City.
Jet Blue terminal - Newly constructed and now fully functional. Better late than never N.Y. is up to par with other modern updated airports, ... so many unique fast food choices and shops. There is a central area lounge to eat and chill before getting on your plane with a pretty cool water show.
The amenities at the airport are great. Nice and new. The gate areas seem small for such a large airport and the car rental location is far. You have to take a shuttle to get to the car rental area which isnt unusual however their was only one shuttle running and it was jam packed.
I hadnt been here in many years. The experience today was excellent. The airport was bright, clean, and easy to flow through (very clear signs everywhere). Our bags came very quickly - not sure whether thats the typical experience. Getting to our ride share was particularly easy, especially compared to the experience at other airports.
Terrible service except the lady at the “to go pickup “counter she was very helpful .Food avocat toast is thinly spread on white toast. Limited options like add eggs… but I insist that the service was terrible!!! We should pay tip before. Bad idea servers don’t care!!! Looking so socialist 😞
This wasnt my first time in LGA, wasnt just in the mood for review in the previous times I came through.LGA is closer to the Bronx, Manhattan and Staten Island than JFK, so its a perfect choice of Airport for passengers traveling through these areas and considering distance. The entire LGA is passing through renovation process which will expand and beautify the Airport with more effective and efficient service delivery. There is every basic facilities which meet up the standard of an international Airport.LGA is beautiful place to consider as choice of Airport travelers experience with fewer people than that of JFK.I got some late night pictures for your consumption.
This review is for the new terminal - WHAT AN UPGRADE, LaGuardia got the GLOW UP BABY! No more claustrophobic feel or weird smell. And, staff was present to provide directions or answer questions. Bathrooms were spotless (!!). I no longer think LGA is the worst airport in the USA.
One of the worst airports I’ve been to in this country. Touch screens at their food court do nothing make up for the lack of everything else. It’s chaotic and disorganized, feels like a 1950’s idea of “the future”, has been under construction for like a decade too. In April 2021 my mom and i were stuck here for 6 hours, flights cancelled due to weather. In the boarding area there’s a tv that plays the same content in a loop, not even live tv. I don’t see why having more screens is necessary today when everyone has a phone, computer etc. at least the view of the water is nice! Sept 6, 2021 I grabbed my bags and went to get a cab, there were about 30 people in line ahead of me- when a line of cans arrived the attendant refused to let me wait for the cab to come up to the line and directed me to walk into the road between a line of cars and a construction site, along five other cabs picking up passengers. Although I am fit and strong, I could hardly manage to get myself and my bags in between the other cabs to get into mine. Not to mention, it’s a little dangerous sending folks into the road under a construction site. It’s getting better, and this will be a nice airport eventually but for now avoid it if you can…
My wife’s American Airlines flight was cancelled due to the stupid crew arriving late!!! I mean I can understand if it’s weather related because it’s icy outside. But this is ridiculous and unprofessional. This morning I also found out that LGA has the most flight cancellations. This airport has spent money renovating to look good but beware that looks can be deceiving. Do yourself a favour and just go via JFK if you are travelling domestically
This is honestly one of the better airports I’ve ever traveled through. It used to be a trash heap on fire but now it’s insane. While terminal 2 does not have clear the security lines are wicked efficient. If bathrooms are your thing, you’re in luck these are great and clean. Great shopping if you’re weird and like to shop in an airport but not gonna lie every time I walk by the Lego store I wanna act up and go crazy. All in all it’s one of NY greatest airports and in my opinion on of the best in the states.
La Guardia Airport is becoming more appealing. Easy to get around and find gates. There are many assistance of different modesIts clean. A variety of stores a food with the city vibe but with high airport prices. The art and music and Montague of the NYC its gorgeous!
Beautiful newly rebuilt airport, but plan for 30+ minutes passing through Precheck security, probably an hour on Monday mornings. Double that for regular security screening. Its pretty ridiculous.Rental car shuttle is especially complicated, you need to take an airport shuttle to Terminal A, then catch your particular car companys shuttle from there. Add 30 minutes to be sure to get to your plane on time.Basically, be sure to arrive at least two hours before your flight boards to avoid extra stress.
Everything was perfect. Once we arrived to print our documents from the Jet Blue Kiosk there was a representative from Jet Blue on the spot to assist us if needed. She checked our bags and the security check was professional and quick. Terminal B is equipped with all of the modern and up to date trimmings. This was an excellent experience.
I know they are trying to Renovate term c but if you have a early flight at 0630 don’t count on much assistance until they get to work at 0430. They do not have chairs or any seating for the disabled around the check in area while you wait either which is surprising for a New York airport. Newark airport is much nicer. Employees walked by as we traveled a mile and not once stopped to offer us assistance and my husband rolled his ankle so he was holding on to the wall. I can’t imagine the elderly having to deal with this. Maybe I just had higher expectations for an airport.
I wish I could say that the remodel of LaGuardia has been fantastic, but unfortunately the root issues of what makes this airport disfunctional still exist. The new waiting areas, shopping areas, and food are certainly welcome - but it doesnt address the root issues at this airport. Confusing dropoff and pickup locations, long lines, disjointed terminal connections, long walks from gate to gate, and a general lack of modern airport necessities (lounges with showers, day beds/resting pods, convenient prayer rooms, etc.), and probably the biggest issues still plaguing this airport is delays and long taxi times. Not to mention no suitable public transport option directly into the city. For a city as large as NYC I wish there was more of a focus on making this airport convenient and functional, but unfortunately it seems mostly wasted of aesthetics and shopping.
The bathroom was clean and convenient. Like any major airport, there were plenty of shops and restaurant choices. My flight bringing me to LGA was delayed and we had to sit on the runway about 15 minutes because its such a busy place. So my connecting flight was from a different terminal and I had to ride a bus to it. I just made it to my gate with 2 minutes to spare!
Have you guys been to the new terminal yet???? Im sure many of us remember LaGuardia when it was far from nice, but this new terminal is SO NICE. Big, fresh, modern. Lots and lots of restaurants and shops. Even the bathrooms were clean and spacious. Everything updated. I was surprised at how nice it is now.
LaGuardia airport is undergoing a major renovation. But it still pales by comparison to airports all over the country and world.I have traveled to major hubs around the world and have seen airports in Singapore, Tokyo, Seoul, Heathrow, OHare, LAX, HK, Beijing, among many others. NYC airports feel like a bus stop when comparing with other major airports. The bathrooms specifically feels like a run down public parks toilet in the NYC parks department system.I recall you can eat off the counters in the Seoul airport it was so clean and pristine.NYC has a long way to go and hopefully the renovations bring us closer to other major airports.
The new section is really nice looking. The whole process seem pretty flawless. We were standing in line thinking it was the “luggage drop” area, but it was to get a boarding pass (or something) & an employee came over & politely redirected us to the right area. Great customer service right there !!!🤩🤩🤩
Getting to LaGuardia Airport is always and will still always be a hassle due to construction delays that are still going on for decades now. It’s good to at least leave 2 to 2 1/2 hours for local flights because of these issues. After passing the security check points, the inside of the airport has been renovated greatly and looks quite appealing. The amazing, beautiful waterfall falling from the ceiling is set to wonderful music and imagery as it greets you. It surely is amazing and will make you smile and wonder! In case you miss it or don’t see it as you enter, just wait for a few minutes. It’s set on a timer and starts again within a few minutes. There are tables set surrounding the waterfall as well. The coffee shops and stores are also great, but they equally charge premium prices for food and drinks.
This is the airport New York deserves? The port authorities must not think much of the people of NYC then. The terminals are so remote from one another and shuttles seem to take forever. Many gates dont have a jet bridge or even a covered exit ramp. Dining and shopping options are mighty slim. And where is the USO or Armed Forces lounge?
This airport has improved a little, but still needs improvement.. Its till behind on the technology, space, functionality, and good customer service of what a New York airport should be.. This is America, this is New York.. We should have the best of the best. Terminal C/D pickup and drop offs area definitely need work.. Airport is ok but could be better..
This airport has improved over the years. It used to be slightly smelly and outdated, but Im surprised how comfortable it is nowadays. Its not luxury for sure, and ordering food on the tablets (pandemic style) doesnt always work, but its clean and spacious. I like to come here when JFK flights are a tad more expensive and Im satisfied with seating and staff, but I just wish the layout and design were more beautiful and full of art. Cant wait to see this airport improve even more! ✈️
Very nice renovation. However, every store closed after 9:00pm or so and I could not purchase a single bottle of water. It became a desert. My Southwest Airlines flight to Chicago Midway was delayed to a midnight departure and the airline offered no food/water either. Needs accommodations / vending machines for late night / delayed flights.
The new A terminal is big, bright and comfortable. A water feature in the center is creative and fun and dont forget the giant custom mural in the back of the shops. What a huge change to the LGA of the 70s, 80s, 90s and 2000s! This new LGA is a game changer and when it is done (I assume it will be eventually 😉) it is going to be a gem!
This is the second and last time I will ever fly through LaGuardia. Let me tell you quickly why. If you like quick, comfortable service with well laid out amenities and helpful staff, this isn’t the airport for you.-The airport is in disarray. I’ve never been to another airport that was so run down looking and I’ve flown in and out of 3rd world countries!-They don’t have the capacity to hold the amount of flights in and out. For a terminal transfer and to get on and off of regional jets you have to go out on the tarmac.-The food service and general logistics suck. They have the stupidest process for ordering food. Order, take your receipt to the (single) cashier handling three or four restaurant locations meaning there is a huge line. The people working at the food places are rude and not interested in helping you.-There is a general lack of options. They all seem to be the equivalent of a concession stand. If I had to guess, the whole food issue is due to some sort of union contract. I don’t know this to be true but it all seems to be that based on the level of not caring and the general lack of organization.AVOID THIS AIRPORT AT ALL COSTS.
No place for people to stay if they have an overnight layover. I had to lay on the carpet with other random people. The construction is absolutely absurd. Me and a mother woman with a lot of luggage were forced to use extra wheel chairs to carry out multiple bags through the stupid outdoor construction tunnels that you have to walk to go to the next terminal. Her bags fell off because of the rough terrain in the tunnel and it fell into the wet paint on the other side of the ground. It’s impossible to walk through the slim tunnels with anything except a single bag. There were absolutely no luggage carts and every single airport employee (other than the airline workers) were very rude and unhelpful. I was on the phone and the person I was talking to was also shocked at the way they were talking to me when I was kindly asking for help and apologizing for any trouble. This place has so many changes an improvements that need to be made. It was absolute hell for me this time I visited. Hope your visit is better!
Beautiful, spacious, accommodating, welcoming, scenic and sanitized. The first airport I know of that uses light sanitation on the bins as a added step of COVID protection going through TSA. Very clean and I like how available staff assistance is noticeable and willing to help. And the view of NYC in the background when your pulling up to be dropped off at your terminal. I think its the fanciest airport I have been in. Not to mention the gem motorcycles scattered inside the airport I wish I got a pic of them all and they have Kate Spade store inside
I considered this one of the best Airports in the World. At the ticket booth O met Mrs.Ellen who informed me that my flight was canceled time I arrived. But she did everything possible to get me home such a wonderful personality. Then at the security check i had things that couldnt be taken on the flight. Again a wonderful young lady. OT really made my day not counting the young man that helps invalidsHe took me to where I could get help I think he was Jamaican. This was a bad trip turned wonderful! An A+ and five star rating.
First time flying from LaGuardia Terminal. Bag tagging process was instant and done on a self-serve kiosk. Going through security took about 10-15min which is pretty quick. There was the usual assortment of snacks, refreshments and a restaurant that other airports have. All the gates for Terminal A are right by each other. One of the smoothest experiences at an airport. (Excluding my delayed flight
Recent renovations have made the airport look nicer and its a lot easier to get around in now, but parking and pickups have suffered and the layout is still difficult to pin down. Plus, the traffic in and around Queens means its difficult to even queue up right to pick someone up. Good scores everywhere else for cleanliness and restaurants, but parking and pickup has turned into a logistic nightmare
Lots of construction or remodeling going on, which when complete will be great. In the meantime allow extra time to walk the maze to the doors for check-in and to the gate at Terminal D. Otherwise it was a quick check in. The security area wasnt bad but very compacted sure to the construction.
Airport getting dirty despite new construction. Where is the staff. Boarding and deplaning straight on the tarmac and while youre at it pick up,gate tag your luggage and bring it to your plane and hand it to the baggage handlers while you board. Ahhh the price of a round trip comfort flight. Hats off to the pilot arrived safely. Thats what counts.
I cant speak to the whole airport but Terminal B is wonderful. Quick security, good layout and space for check in. The waiting area is great with plenty of options to eat, comfortable couches, free wifi, easy to locate plugs to charge, clean bathrooms and an amazing water show. I also like the multiple screens with gate information. Pretty cool way to display it as well with the icons, estimates walk time and suggestions to relax or go to gate.
So clean and nice! The bathrooms were SPOTLESSS and beautifully maintained. There is an army of staff cleaning all over the place. There were many food options, priced fairly, no need to haul your own food. A huge improvement over our last trip in 2019. One of the nicest airports weve been to.
Horribly disorganized. Gates c32-c36 have no seating. Always a lineup of 20 min wait to use the ladies room. Impossible for any flow of people. Needs to be re-designed. It caused so much stress for everyone, but most importantly for the airport and airline staff. Photos are from Nov 2021
Charge your phones and laptops, tablets and pads before arriving. Theres almost no functioning charging stations.Bring lunch, breakfast, snacks and empty water bottles to fill up. Beverage and food prices are astronomical when you can find them.Bring patience, understanding and kindness, the kiosk & restaurant staff wont have any.
A total short sighted disaster. In terminal d breathing jet fuel. Feelings for the workers here. Took courtesy shuttle bus from term c to d. Would have preferred a trike. However shuttle bus went back way avoiding mishegas. Good demo for banning cars.Escalator not working at delta term c. Went outside into jet fuel infused air to get elevator. So much fun!
It is a tiny airport compared to JFK but upside is it was not hectic to get to the get out to the pickup which is at stone throw away. There are four gates on terminal A, so pleasantly surprised with no congestion of passenger, which was refreshing compared to crammed up space in OHare Chicago.there are refreshment shops right next to gate area but all of the hot drink shops were closed in morning well after 8am, which was a bummer.
Still a nightmare you dont want to have…going to LaGuardia. Construction and rerouting everywhere…no visible signs of improvement when picking up or dropping off….reminds me of the Belt Parkway from 1982-2000….continuous construction. Try to get in and out of JFK. If you can’t then just bear with it. Like the NY Jets, it’s hard to imagine that things won’t get better.
I flew Delta from LGA, where they have a dedicated terminal. The airport feels brand new and clean. The baggage drop was simple, security was easy to navigate, and they have distances in minutes that you have to walk to certain sections of the airport. Food options are limited, which leads to more people at more expensive eateries, so a hot dog meal ends up taking 15 minutes.
Having traveled to and from Laguardia all my life, I can say that the recently completed Terminal B is very impressive. What a transformation! Its just beautiful. Not sure what the other terminals look like, but when its all done, it will be great inside. That said, the traffic around the airport is still a hot mess. Signage is still confusing. If youre renting a car, be prepared to take a shuttle to another shuttle. Give yourself an extra hour for that part. Also be aware that the terminal is now huge and theres a long, long walk to the gates and to baggage claim. Request a wheelchair if youre older or have trouble walking.
The airport itself is very nice and easy to use. However the shuttle to terminal A is absolutely asinine. The rental car agencies are completely detached from everything and getting to them with all your luggage etc and hoping they have a car available is horrible. Any and everything about NYC is absolutely garbage. If you find yourself stuck here and need to get out - go to AVIS - they saved our bacon by providing us with a car that all other agencies didn’t have.
It has come a long way. Very clean. Well lite. A very cool water fountain that shoots a projection show on it with music. The first part of the terminal reminds me of the Cancun airport with shops and a walk through mall area. Plenty of places to eat although the prices are inflated.
Crowded, clean, and multilevel. We were in terminal B for Southwest. Be prepared to walk and walk some more. Lines leading to security lines then a mile walk to the terminal. Only one motorized walkway for about 50 feet. Wear comfortable shoes. Leave at least two hours for crazy long security lines and the stroll through aviations longest walk.
Very clean, seems well laid out and easy time through security. Unfortunately when trying to fly back to Chicago, they had some plane maintenance issues, compounded by communication issues. While it may not be directly the airports responsibility, it doesnt reflect well on their ability to communicate about an issue.
Terminal B was great–I would say this is the greatest airport Ive ever been to! It looked new and modern, the restrooms were cleaner than you can imagine, and they have lots of great restaurants and places to get food. Even the floor had absolutely NO trash on it. Because Terminal B was so great, I wont take away stars for the construction in Terminal C on the way back to LGA, since this was expected. Other than that, absolutely amazing!
Renovations are beautiful! More seating needed by baggage claim. I know its probably to limit loitering, but Im standing here right now amongst people sitting on the floor and an elderly couple keeping each other up, leaning on an I love NY sign. I would love to sit down and wait for my bags after traveling, but I gave up my seat to someone who needs it more.
The years long remodel of the airport is coming together and the place is starting to look great. However, the remaining work still leaves some surprisingly circuitous, lengthy walks across the broader facility to get from gates to baggage claim. Also, if you fly in or out of terminal B and have a rental car, you must take an airport shuttle to terminal A in order to take a rental car shuttle to the rental car facilities. Add extra time into your schedule.
The security check was SO SLOW that they made me miss my flight by 3min. The lady could have given me my boot because she was checking my bag but instead she refused!! Everything took too long, plus I hate the mandatory regulation of mask having to be over the nose!! It literally suffocates me, I cant breathe! 🥺 VERY unhappy! The new building is beautiful but the staff are kind of rude! _😃 Thanks for reading!
The airport used to be very sketchy and gross until they completely rebuilt the airport’s terminal, a very rare good decision made by the port authority. Now, I can say that the new terminal is heads and shoulders above the old one. My only complaint is the lack of rail connection to the city.
Very big and very busy United Airline desk I am not sure what to call them was very rude when I was trying to change a flight that was leaving. While I was on the phone with united airlines customer service. I had to purchase another ticket from another airline. Thank you Delta for getting me home safe.
Had you asked me a year ago about LGA, I would have recommended to fly to JFK instead, if possible. It was old, cramped, lacked train connections, and was generally unpleasant to be in.Now, its my favorite NYC airport, by far. The renovations put a fresh, clean look on the airport, theres plenty of good stores and food to enjoy, and even a musical fountain that springs to life every quarter hour in Terminal B.Its big, spacious, and it feels like a proper airport for a world-class city.Still lacks a train station, but nothings perfect, and hopefully thatll be solved soon enough!
Its nice, big, spacious, and clean.Nothing fancy like some other airports, but it does its job.The ground transportation is a bit far off from where you land, so be prepared to walk for around 10 minutes. The airport is safe in terms of landing as its right beside the East River.Have a great time in Queens, NY!
The new Terminal B is nicely done and a welcome upgrade. Taking a flight via Spirit at Terminal A not so easy to get to by public transportation early morning, so ensure that your usual buses/trains are running and allow extra time. MTA also needs to update information in Google Maps as it gives the impression that one has a 12 minute walk to to Terminal A.
Gotta love the changes that have happened at LaGuardia airport in the past few years. Its bright, open, airy and an all around outstanding American airport. I used to dread flying into LGA but not now! The shops, restaurants and ample seating make this a great place to fly into or out of.
Only when they finish the renovations I maybe impressed then. Its still a cluster F of an airport to get around in with all the construction, slow confusing shuttles, and rude employees. Some of what they finished so far is way better then the garbage it was before but it still falls far behind alot of airports in the US and other parts of the world.
This is probably the most beautiful airport that I’ve ever been in… and I’ve been flying all over my whole life. I don’t remember what LaGuardia looked like in prior years, but I will definitely remember now! It’s modern, sleek, clean, lots of seating and outlets and just overall aesthetically pleasing. So much so, that I felt the need to write a review for an airport, which is a first for me for sure. LOL! Keep up the good work, LaGuardia!
Ive seen worse airports, but Ive also seen much better. The refurbished LaGuardia is significantly better than the old one, but theres still issues. Not a lot to really do while youre waiting, and the stores/restaurants were very expensive. I mean, you figure that airports arent going to be cheap, since youre paying for convenience, but some of these prices are ridiculous. Aside from that, I had a decent experience, and like I said, I remember the old airport, and this place is significantly improved.
Organized chaos! Lol. It us really a simple airport to figure out after 1 visit. Expect to shuttle 2x going to car rental place (fees for rentals are astronomical). Give yourself well over 2 to 3 hours to return your rental, catch the shuttles, get your security document (either by kiosk or the counter), go through security and finally make it to your gate. It is a process, and you need time. Road construction 🚧 slow moving traffic, emergency vehicles all play a role in your getting to the airport 🛫 with time to souvenier shop, eat, have a 🍺 or a glass of🍷. But, you need time to get where you need to be. The shopping 🛍 is fantastic. The choice of food and beverage places is diverse and everything you can imagine is in the airport. Its a BIG airport! Go early and enjoy it. Remember to take a picture 📸 of where you park; youll be glad you did.
Major airport in NYC that used to be probably one of the worst has finally stepped up their game. Terminal B is where I am at and it is beautiful. Multiple food options to pick from and not 1000 x normal costs compared to other airports, clean and vibrant with color, multiple restrooms and comfy chairs in the food court/shopping area. Plenty of stores to shop in as well. During my visit the fountain was off which was a bummer. The gates are a walk but hey what else are you going to do with your 2 hour wait.Lets talk security, I tried to take a picture but they said I was not allowed to, they had at least 20-30 check points, agents were friendly and helpful as well.
Getting through security is super confusing, no signs to lead you anywhere and youre walking in circles until someone helps you.Food court was nice, lots of seating. At the gate, theres no seating whatsoever. Im currently at my gate and theres twice as many people standing than there are sitting, with no open seats at any terminal. It also feels as if the AC isnt working in certain areas. Makes standing in front of your gate much more annoying. Hopefully the remodel adds more space for seating.
I understand that construction is necessary and one day we have most advance and amazing airport but right now arrival area is disgusting. We landed on delta terminal in rainy day and way to exit and get taxi is flooded, no body cares & no system to check how passengers facing problems.

2022-05-02First time experiencing this New York airport, and I can tell theyve been renovating it. There is a fresh clean feel to it, and it looks like they still have a ways to go. Good selection of shops and restaurants, and since this is an airport, yes, the prices are a bit higher than normal, but Ive come to expect that at all airports. Staff are all pretty friendly and helpful. It can get crowded, so if you find a seat, you might want to grab it!

2022-05-19The recent renovations has turned this airport into a state of the art; modern world class airport. Absolutely gorgeous. The renovated airport features floor to ceiling glass panels offering expansive views of the tarmac for plane spotters, food options readily available outside gates, as well as modern lounges full of amenities for frequent fliers with lounge access. Choice airport when flying domestically into NYC. Would be most ideal if connected to the metro; like EWR and JFK.

2022-04-03The new addition on Terminal B is amazing! Really well done. We flew American Airlines and the gates were also spacious but with all the amenities and stores right there. They should fix the water fountains though... None worked for some reason.

2022-06-18I’ve been flying out from Delta Terminal D and I was absolutely overwhelmed by how beautiful the terminal looks now after being renovated. I literally felt as if I was boarding a space ship. Awesome!!! And also the many spots with art being exhibited was just beautiful to see & highly appreciated. Great job!

2022-02-17The airport is turning up very nice. Construction seems to be complete at Terminal B. Traffic can get heavy, but I will not detract from its rating because this is expected. However, traffic flow is fast and easy. The layout is functional and well thought out for moving people in and out.

2022-03-22The personnel were friendly, but the airport is atrocious. Dont get me wrong, its clean and has quite a few food options. But the prices are ridiculous! I know, its New York, and airport prices are known to be comedically high. But $16.47 for two pieces of pepperoni pizza and one 20 oz coke!?!? Come on! Not everyone makes a New York salary! Especially families that are only connecting flights at this monopoly. I know that everyone will point the blame finger at someone else, but a meal shouldnt cost 25% of a plane ticket! Now about the signage... Good luck figuring out which terminal youre supposed to catch your connecting flight. Eventually I asked the right person and was told I had to catch a shuttle. My ticket didnt mention any terminal letters, but I had to travel to Terminal D. The signs in the airport and my ticket didnt not work together, and the airport employee agreed.Maybe they should take all that pizza dough and spend some of it for some proper signage. Or perhaps the confusion is intentional? Lost, confused and exhausted travellers might be more likely to buy more food (if they arent already broke). And when they miss their flight due to all the confusion, theyll have to stay at the airport and buy more insanely overpriced food.

2022-04-13A very nice airport, but I just saw terminal B for connecting flight 🛫. Clean, up to date, nice fancy shops. Food and bar options seem better than many airports. It was nice flying in seeing the vast 🌆 NYC area skyline, 🏙️ neighborhoods, parks.

2022-06-26LaGuardia airport had very nice construction, The check-in was really fast and easy !! Security was efficient and first and everything is clean and you all the way to the gate, normally I’m flying out of JFK but this time the flight was less expensive so I booked it and I’m not regretting it.@Delta-airline

2022-06-30Its a large airport and terminal gates are great distances from one another. It can be a 30 minute hoof from one gate to another. The upgrades are coming along and seem nice. Meanwhile, services are in place.
