We were staying at the local state campground when the weather got very hot and humid, which made us search out a place we could have electric hook up for our campers AC. We found this place online, booked the spot for the last 2 nights of our trip, and had it confirmed that same night. This place was incredibly friendly and comfortable. The spaces are great, and the amenities were an unexpected bonus! Kids had a great time riding their bikes and swimming. Its just a 10 min drive from Lake George Village, so we were able to still do the things wed planned on originally with no issue. We definitely felt like they made every penny was worth spending here, and if we come back to the Lake George area again we will definitely plan on staying here.
Lots of events for kids. Most areas have good size lots, ours was tight had the lot next to us been utilized. Easy to navigate large rvs through complex. Shaded lots throughout. Movies at night on inflatable screen. Location with Scroon River makes the campground even more appealing in summer. Easy access to 87.
UPDATE: They are removing bad reviews that mention bed bugs. This review will probably be removed.WARNING: Bed bugs. We rented a cabin and literally decided to sleep in our cars because there were bed bugs all over the walls/near the bed/on the comforter. We checked in later (8) and then decided to get drunk and hang out. About 2 or 3 hours after being in the cabin, we started to get ready for bed. Thats when my friend noticed the wretched little creatures in the crevices of the walls. Front desk was closed so we decided to contact the security phone number. He was very nice and contacted management to try to get us in another cabin or tent, but they had none available. He brought us new sheets to sleep on. We ended up just sleeping in the car and got like 3 hours of sleep.Getting a refund was a hassle, but we eventually did get one. We were told that they never had an issue with bed bugs, but that is a lie because there are previous reviews mentioning bed bugs. Bed bugs are active at night and hide during the day so when one of the staff members came to inspect our cabin, she didnt see nearly half of what we saw during the evening. They mentioned they have someone who comes out once a month and checks for bed bugs, but that is clearly not enough. The staff was also kind of rude when we mentioned bed bugs to them and not really apologetic or anything. We felt like we had done something we wrong by mentioning it to them. Its a shame, because this cabin was beautiful. It would have been perfect if not for the bed bugs. We got garbage bags, double bagged everything we brought into the cabin, and left. We stayed in cabin 517 if that helps anyone. One other thing. We made our reservation on their website. It took our money, but the system glitched and didnt save our reservation. So when we got there, they didnt have a cabin for us and it took about an hour to actually check in because they were trying to accommodate us. The girl who helped us with this issue was very sweet and helpful.
WARNING NG DO NOT STAY HERE‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️BEYOND DISCUSSING WHAT THEY DID! My Husband children and I had a reservation for a Thursday- Saturday stay this week. At 5 PM on that Wednesday we get a cancellation email due to a river flooding they have to cancel all reservations. Mind you my husband and two children Where a ready upstate staying the night in a hotel ready to check in at 1 PM the following day meeting family and friends up there. My family and I had reserved reservations for tubing on the lake white water rafting etc with other companies. Their policy is you must cancel within 48 hours or it’s nonrefundable my husband and I lost out on $968 that was nonrefundable because the campgrounds canceled our reservation. After speaking with a extremely rude unsympathetic supervisor named MIMI who does not even work directly at the campgrounds we were informed sorry for the inconvenience in a nice way it’s not our problem it was the weathers issue not hers or theirs. Not only did they not wait till last minute to cancel that reservation I was lied to on the phone saying they were canceling all reservations for that Thursday for people who were staying through Sunday the checkout date for us was Saturday when I asked her to repeat that and explain to her we were checking out Saturday she then backtracked. I absolutely believe it was due to overbooking issues No accommodations were offered to us or help trying to reserve the issue of $1,000 worth of nonrefundable deposit of our other reservations. She claimed she had no information besides an email to the property manager who is in charge of discussing these issues as she does not work directly at the campsite it is a corporation with no access to their contact information. We are now left stranded in a hotel with two children crying trying to make last-minute reservations I highly recommend you do not stay at this place they are extremely unprofessional!
This Memorial Day weekend with my family is my first time at this campground, it has been a wonderful experience so far! We all LOVE this place, the staff are friendly, nice and helpful. They keep the campgrounds and all facilities clean. Everything is easily accessible. We stayed in the Honeybear section, which is equipped with a water spigot and shared electrical hookup. They have had several activities to keep the family busy. They do an excellent job at sending text updates and notifications of all events and occurrences happening on the campground.I will continue using this campground from here on out. Overall a beautiful place with amazing views. Highly recommend!
Spent a week in the park and it was very nice. They had just completed many improvements. They space was large with all new power poles, water and cable TV. The pad was newly leveled fine gravel. Water pressure was great. It is a large park and they had several organized activities. There were 2 Landry facilities and the machines were in excellent condition. There were several bathroom facilities but we did not use them. The main building had a shop with camping supplies and lots of gifts. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Great park.
My family and I have had many years of great camping experiences at Lake George Escape Campground. The views and activities for children are great! We used to camp with our fifth wheel, but for the first time we rented a deluxe cabin. The cabin itself is very nice! The company obviously spent a lot of money of their cabins. My only complaint is the cleaning staff, which I think are contractors. When I complained about the condition our cabin was left in, the office staff had a could care less attitude. However, upper management was extremely caring about our negative experience with these problems. My advice: If you ever have a problem with cleanliness or the office staff, look for upper management.
Used to be a nice family camp ground. Now it seams to be a party spot for a bunch of drunks. Disco karaoke until 11pm every night this weekend people screaming and hollering while my kids are going to bed. Amenities are still nice but hard to get past all the drunks. Used to enjoy coming here next year we will go somewhere else
5 stars isnt enough for this campground. Scenery in area is beautiful, ranks up there towards top of any Ive seen. Beautiful, hated to leave and wished Id of booked a longer stay. Will definitely be back some day. Highly recommend this place, peaceful feeling minute you pull in. Something going on all the time
Campground was very clean but very crowded. No private spaces or cabins. The gentleman who used to work at the chamber of commerce (I forget his name), was super helpful and very kind. The mature gentleman who worked in the maintenance department was, also, super kind and the younger gentleman who helped him was nice too! This is very much, a family campground with lots to do for kids. The restaurant by the pool had great food!! Always check your receipt though because both times we went there, there were errors on our bill. There is a shuttle Into Lake George, which is about 5 miles away but it doesnt have a regular schedule. Taxis and Ubers are VERY difficult to find so make sure you have a car if you want to leave the campground. Lots of mosquitoes, too. I understand that the campground cant spray for them so bring bug spray and citronella candles galore!!! We spent more time indoors than I had planned on because the mosquitos were so bad. Showers were very clean.
Not exactly what I would consider camping. That being said this place is REALLY nice for families with kids! And only about a 12 minute drive from Lake George! The cabin we stayed was very nice. Super comfortable for its size with all the amenities youd expect in a house. Stove, refrigerator, TV, full bathroom, dishes, etc. Comfy shikibutons for sleeping. And even a fold-out bed in the couch! There is A LOT for kids to do here! There are basically 2 fun centers right on site(although one is not associated with the campground). An arcade, petal-carts, a small mini-golf course, a pool and disc golf are just a few of the many activities for the kiddos.Everything was clean and well maintained here. But if youre looking for a camping experience this isnt it. More like glamping. But its certainly a nice place to stay in the Lake George region.
I had a horrific experience here. Our cabin was crawling with bed bugs. On August 14, 2021 I stayed in Cabin 517 with my friend. After settling in for the night we found a bug carcass on my bed. Looking at the wall, and we saw a whole bunch of wriggling bed bugs. For proof that includes continuous video from the campground signage to the cabin itself and finally to the little clusters of bed bugs, search Escape from Lake George Escape Campground on YouTube.Management was horrible and kept denying they were bed bugs. I have had bed bugs myself about a decade ago and know exactly what they look like, how the clusters of bugs look like, even how they run across the wall. We had to fight for a refund every step of the way and were gaslit constantly. Upon arriving home I had a panic attack. Bed bugs are truly the scourge of the earth (easily thousands of dollars in fumigation/pest control costs if you get an infestation). But do you know what is even worse? People who subject paying guests to suffer bed bugs.My friend and I both had to do lice treatment (works for bed bugs, fun fact!) afterwards, and my boyfriend paid $900 to fumigate my car and belongings after this trip. I received a full refund from the campground. In my photos there are screenshots from the videos I took that night. I am planning to do a more in-depth video about the experience. There is also a screenshot of our conversation with Shannon Olden, who was just truly awful to us. On site, we kept asking for an immediate refund and she instead said well refund you once we inspect the unit. We pushed for an immediate refund because every interaction of the management was deny, deny, deny.I do not recommend.
Been going for over a decade but was extremely dismayed with how unclean the showers and bathrooms were this year. Stayed for one week.I know its a campground so I dont expect to be able to eat off a toilet lid but there was foul odors, a rarely updated cleaning schedule (once between Monday and Thursday) and strangely four times Friday but not Saturday. The campground was relatively full so its sad that it wasnt cleaned frequently / well at all. Showers were pretty bad too, mold and dead insects that hadnt been cleaned out in a week.No staff made sure that other campers werent excessively noisy after midnight either. I hope this was just a bad week but I didnt have the best experience this time around.
If you want a large RV and cabin park with lots of families, and activities, this could be a good fit. Note one must expect and navigate around golf carts and bikes on narrow park roads, lots of speed bumps, no fire wood availability at times, and a high nightly rate. It did not meet our quiet retreat needs.
Okay. so I have thought long and hard about what I wanted to say. First off the staff I did encounter was always so encouraging nice and super helpful. The entertainment staff made sure there were fun safe and covid compliant activities. The main areas were so clean and they were compliant with all rules (credit card only. And scheduled pool time. )Bingo was fun $5 for a lot of cards and the caller made it fast and enjoyable. They had free movies and bon fire. The lower part of the stars is there were plenty of empty campsites (we were w133 in the smores section) and we were placed with three other people with over 15/20 empty sites. One of them had two dogs that barked the entire four days we were there....high pitched yip. Now I understand that is not the staffs fault but we complained four times because they also were up until like 3 am one night and again we were in a super secluded area with open sites and them next to us. Why ?Also seems bratty but there was no bathroom closer then like a mile we had to walk through the entire place in either direction for a bathroom of any kind.Finally. You have to pay for every single thing (well mostly)The pool and playground were empty. But you needed to rent borrow or use anything it seemed like minimally $5/$10 a pop (mini golf was $2)It was I think $280 for three adults and one toddler for Friday to Monday and we did the bare minimum activity. We probably will not be visiting again, glad we tried it...you should too.
We just recently visited this campground, as some other reviewers have mentioned before we were also put into a very tight campsite for our camper, we are barely able to open the slideouts nevermind the awning so i wish the camp staff would have understood the need for a wider site for a 35ft motorhome. The golf cart rental price was very alarming, $110+ per day with a 2-day minimum, more costly than the site itself. We were also put into a water/electric/cable only site which we were told that night there was no full-hookups available , a quick walk around once we settled in clearly showed otherwise as we saw plenty of empty full hookup sites. Our site was infested with mosquitos, the store does sell repellent but at close to $8-$9 a bottle! The staff was very friendly, the pool and amenenities were clean but the overall experience was subpar. Overall it was a positive experience but be prepared to “pay extra” for anything else.
Private, quiet, and wooded/shady RV sites away from activities. Gravel roads and wide silt pads where we were. We had room to open the awning and our canapy. Large tables and fire rings. If you want to be close to the pool/ playground, roads are paved but have smaller sites with fewer trees. Doggy bags are available near grassy areas throughout the park. I like how the guests have taken pride to care for and decorate their sites.we met several guests that return each year.
Wonderful family-friendly campground, full of amenities with a great layout. We stayed in a full hookups site with convenient access to the general store, showers and the field. Each weekend has a theme and we visited during the Halloween theme, so there were some fun decorations and activities for the kids, and a Halloween movie on the inflatable screen. We had a great time tubing and floating on the river by the beach. We actually never went to Lake George because we enjoyed the campgrounds so much :) Appreciated the reasonable pricing in the general store, when so many similar places will price gouge. Thank you also for a generous veteran discount as well :)
We went camping for a week at Lake George Escape campground. This was our first ever camping trip and we did with a tent not a RV or Camper. The campgrounds were very clean and spacious. The only downfall, if there really is one, was the restrooms were a five minute walk from our campsite in two different directions. The campsite had sand as a base which was nice in that there was no mud to deal with, just sand. The site we were in had a view of the river, very pleasant to sit and meditate and contemplate all that is happening in todays world. Highly recommended to visit at some point.
Absolutely love this place! Its an hour drive to get to BUT what a campground! My Fiance, Friends and I usually rent out one of the Cabins and I will continue to come back every year! Peaceful, very friendly atmosphere, and everything youd want to do as far as outdoor activities you wont be disappointed here!
Very large campground with lots of activities, booked this place because of the paved trails and roads so we could get around on electric scooters. Saw nothing on the website about electric scooters not being allowed. Until my first ride and the ranger pointed out that it was on the back of my map at checkin.. so you can have a golfcart, mind you only electric( also not on the website) but you cant ride a scooter? Not even if I turned it off and used my foot. What a waste of money . So then went and bought bikes because it is alot of walking and that is not what my daughter came for. So just know before you book what their rules are.. because they dont put them on their website.
I just went on the trip over the weekend. It was a decent experience. Stayed in a tent site that was along the river side and not many people were near that area at the time. Although it was pretty far away from the nearest bathroom. It was difficult at times because people could use golf carts to get around but when I was there, there were no more available. Lots of people were using the carts which is understandable because it can be a long walk to get to certain areas of the campsite. Renting the carts is also pretty expensive. I’m 18 and have some medical issues going on that makes it hard for me to walk long distances so I was kind of sad when I wasn’t able to get a cart to help me go to where I wanted. Getting to the bathroom/showers was difficult because of this. Also wasn’t really able to enjoy the activities there because the area was so far away for me. Just kind of wish there was a better system for the golf carts so the people that may need them more can have a better chance.
Hands down this is the best campground that Ive been to in many years. We are members of Thousands Trails which is owned by the parent company that owns this campground so we can stay at any of there campground as part of are membership. The only campground that comes close to this campground is Appalachian Campground in Pennsylvania. This is a first class campground!
Second time here and probably won’t be back. Came across unfriendly staff. One staff member even hung up on our friend! Advertised 2 heated pools, however kiddie pool closed. Large pool not heated. Inflatable water slide closed early because they apparently don’t have enough staff?? When we go back to LG, we will try another campground.
Excellent campground. Been here 3x. Only have issues with a few things. The activity center is closed on Sundays. So if you want to go tubing your outta luck. The arcade opens at 230pm on Sundays. Also.. the gift shop does debit and credit only. I assume it is from Covid but I do not know.If you want forewood visit some of the near by houses who have a ton of it for sale.I paid $3 bucks a cube for fire wood. 7 to 8 pieces per cube. It was half the cost of what they charge at the camp ground The place that charges this amt is 2 minutes from the camp ground. Go out the main gate and hang a right...his house is sorta in a valley. He has it all staked up by the road...
We had fun camping with our friends. Drive thru site for us. Csmp ground was close to town and grocery stores gas etc. But at 7 am the bathrooms and laundromat area were clearly not cleaned. Signs posted to wear masks in side and some people didnt. Construction equipment moving around but felt safe. Looks like they may be adding more sites. Lots of activities for families with younger kids.
My family and I have been coming to this campground for 6 years now and decided to become seasonal because we loved it so much. I just wanted to write a quick review to say that there are always things that can happen and when things go wrong you want to expect good customer service. There is one staff member in particular Donna at the camp store who always has a smile on her face and always make sure we are smiling when we leave. She has a great personality and my daughters loves going in the store to say hello to her. So just wanted to make sure that everyone knows that there are still nice people who are out there and still go that one extra step to make you smile while on vacation!
We stayed here in July for a week and we had 2 site, 603 and 604. We paid for large premium sites, but they will not reserve a site for you. When we got there our sites were OK, but not very big and by no means would ever be considered premium. We called the front desk and were told that there were no other sites available. Well that was a lie. There were sites that were empty all week. We decided to make the best of it, but then realized that we had no access to the public bathroom without a 3/4 mile walk because the bridge to our part of the campground was out. We were then forced to rent a very expensive golf cart to get around. When you did get to the public bathrooms both the toilets and shower were absolutely disgusting. The whole week we were there I saw someone cleaning them once. I brought it up to the front desk and they honestly did not care. People also do not abide by the speed limit at all. Both in cars/trucks and golf carts. At night it becomes a golf cart raceway. The worst offenders seemed to be seasonal children driving around in golf carts at night in very overloaded golf carts. The were loud, rude, and obnoxious. The only reason it is not a 1 star is the river swimming area. We swam out towards the middle where you can stand and it was beautiful clear water and very relaxing.
Loved this place! Just got back today with my family, it was great. There was a decent amount of amount of people, I’d imagine on the weekends it is probably a bit more packed. But we were there from Monday until Thursday morning. It was an amazing experience, and I could just imagine once Covid is over, there will be even more to do! I can’t wait to return! Great for both children and adults! We stayed in a basic four person cabin.
I would never go back!I booked 9 days online for my 2 children and I for a tent site,we’re excited to go camping which we usually go to KOA…..it was about $750 to rent a site for 9 days so we get there and the place looks great but when I asked if we have electricity at the site I was told no that would cost extra😳We were staying 9 days and they couldn’t give us electricity when there were empty site,Everything was very expensive and 0 customer service, we left 3 days earlyShould try camp grounds of America
Was such a great camp ground with such friendly people. The fun house was so much fun, the bouncer house water slide, so much fun, pool nice and warm, food is delicious! All around wonderful atmosphere. However I was very disappointed knowing they had a laundry room full of washers and only two were functioning out of 8. Had to wait the whole day to do laundry and couldnt wait around because we had kids with us that wanted to have fun. Needless to say went swimming with musky towels and dirty bathing suits.
So the place is not as nice as the website would lead you to believe. No paved sites. A lot of dirt and very dusty. They do not have a lot of big rig sites unless youre a seasonal camper. Lots of cabins and tent sites. We have a 37 foot, Class A with 3 slides and an awning. The first site they offered was WAY away from everything and so small, I couldnt open my awning because of all the trees. The next site they offered was right near everything but it was also very tight to back into. I was at least able to open all slides and the awning. At first the adjacent sites were empty so it left us plenty of room but a few days later, a trailer showed up and parked right on top of us, literally 15 feet from our RV and their sewer tube was about 10 feet away from our outdoor dining table! Not happy. The staff, however, was fantastic. Very helpful and pleasant. They offered to move us but the other sites were too far away and the dirt roads to those sites were too dusty. They tell me that they are making major improvements but I dont think Ill be back.
Great entrance. Store is on the left where you can get a day pass. They sell everything from fire wood to ice cream to camper supplies. The sights are great. Wi-Fi is also great. The restaurant also has vegan and vegetarian options. The bar witch is near the pool has great drinks. The Schroon River runs threw the campground so there is tube and kyake rentals. One of my favorite campgrounds.
Didnt expect the place to be as big as it is. 178 acres. But they still have very small campsites. I stayed in the 28 cabin. Cabin was nice. Did the trick. For some reason all the cabin sites are clumped together in the middle of the camp ground. I walked the property and there were plenty of nice secluded sites right on the river. This place is best suited for families with small kids that enjoy being in crowds.
We just visited for the first time and hard a wonderful experience. Tubing on the Schroon River was the highlight of the trip and is a must for all visitors. The grounds were very clean and well maintained, lot sites provided enough space and privacy. The park was dog friendly and had a beautiful park for them to run free. We are planning our next trip back.
We stayed at Lake George Escape in the beginning of August. This campground is unique in that their beach is on Schroon River. They offer many things like tubing, kayaking, pedal carts and mini golf, all at an extra cost. Our kids loved swimming in the river and golfing! We loved the site, it was roomy and grassy. Not all sites are like this. Some are skinny and long and some are very short and narrow. It’s best to call and ask about the sites to find a good fit.Initially there was confusion over what site we had but it was immediately resolved. Then we had guests come as we are frequent campers and camp with family who are also avid campers. One guest arrived and was charged $20 for two people, for overnight. They were leaving before 9pm, which is when a guest becomes an overnight guest.Another one guest arrived, again to check out the site and campground and was not charged, being told since a guest had already paid, she didn’t.A guest couple arrived and they were CHARGED $40!!! They made it very clear they weren’t staying overnight, and they were told since COVID, they have to charge $20 a guest. INSANITY.The guest rate listed on their website, on encore’s website and even in their flyer they give when you arrive, is $6. If you’re not staying the night, it’s six dollars. Our guests were totally dissatisfied, and frankly, disappointed.Kids drive golf karts all over, people don’t abide by the 5mph rule and the mosquitoes!!!I gave two stars as we will probably try it a second time, to see if our experience is the same. I’ve seen other reviews of horrible staff experiences but we did not have that issue.
I have mixed feelings about this campground. The last time we were here the experience was terrible. The time before it was great. This time is was fair overall. We booked our site online and when we arrived the front staff was friendly and gave us our lot number. We went to it and it was such a bad location! It was next to a bunch of construction supplies and very awkwardly shaped. It almost seemed like a scrap lot you would only use if you were desperate. We went to the front and asked if we could change sites and the person at the front was friendly and accommodated our request. She gave us our pick of about seven available sites, and we found one we liked. Over our stay I went back to look at the site they originally wanted to give us and it was still free. In fact not even any of the surrounding lots were rented. I wonder if they give people this site to see what they say and change it if they complain. I must say the staff did not seem the least surprised we were unhappy with our site.At one point our power went out. Coincidentally at almost the exact same time I received a text from Lake George Escape asking how things were going and if we had any questions. I texted back and said our power was out. After 5 days, still no reply. I am glad I did not rely on the text, as I assumed it was an automated system and not from an actual person. So I went to the front and let another friendly staff know about our power going out. She said she would get someone right out there. We waited an hour before we had to go to our booked one hour pool time. When we got back from the pool the power was still out. As it had now been two hours, I went back to the front and asked about the status of our power being fixed. The man I spoke to let me know no request had been made, and I let him know the person I spoke to, who happened to be sitting in the back. Again, he did not seem surprised and got someone to our lot right away and he fixed it in less than a minute. This camp is very good for kids. The pool is fun, although right now due to COVID 19 you have to sign up for a spot. The registration starts at 10 am and I was in line at 9:15 am to get a spot. So if you want anything remotely resembling a too pool time, get in line at 9:15 am or you will not get your first choice of times. The staff were very nice to my son, who was interested in the mining. The tried very hard to get the mining station running but there was something wrong with the water structure. As such we use a pot and strainer at our campsite and he was just as happy. The pedal carts are not as fun as they look. My 6 and 12 year old had a hard time with them and we ended up bringing them back early. My recommendation is rent them for 30 minutes the first time to make sure they work for your kids. The vibe in the campground is great for kids. A lot of families and a lot of friendly people. The store is well provisioned and not very overpriced.Overall, I think you will have fun but be careful that you get a decent lot and you may have to go more than once to the front to get issues resolved.
We stayed for nine nights and enjoyed our stay. The mosquitoes were a big nuisance, we were told recent flooding was the cause of that. Lots of activities, the bar/restaurant was fun and convenient. Our kids enjoyed the pool, playground, mini golf, DJ And nightly entertainment and arcade. We were in site 33 which was a nice area because all the sites were large and the roads were good for the kids to bike ride. The dog park was nice but people are so ignorant they couldnt even clean up after their own dogs despite the campground providing ample stations with bags. Close to LG Village which has lots to do. Grocery nearby. The beach was a bit of a joke, the rope was about 5 feet from the beach. Overall I would recommend it.
We stayed during an off peak season but it was a still a great time. Pools were still open and heated enough for kiddos to enjoy, they had great food at the cafe which had a BBQ fries that were delicious. One of the kids favorite things was the stuff a bear. They were able to fill them with different traits and make hem special. The gentleman who ran it Duane (?) was so interactive with the kids, made for a great experience. We played bingo on Saturday night which was nice, I was not impressed that they didn’t even finish the packet of tickets that you pay for. ( there was still 2 or 3 cards left in packet) also instead of paying cash back out you get a gift certificate for the store.Other then that we had a great weekend.
Best campground in Lake George area. Everything needed to just stay at the campground. Pool is small. Tubing on the river is awesome . Cabins are real nice but pricey. Best to scan sites and Mark them down for your next visit as all sites are not created equal. Lots of entertainment and supervised events for the Kiddies to enjoy. My grandson loved the basketball court
Very nice campground. We rented one of the cabins, which was new and modern. This particular one had 2 queen mattresses in the loft, a queen bed in the bedroom and a sleeper sofa in the living room. The kitchen had a full refrigerator and stove and had utensils and pots and pans. Saturday night they had a DJ and the dance area is very cool with lights and even a bubble machine. The food there at Riverside Provisions was surprisingly excellent! My group got steaks and nachos. The staff was friendly. Only main issue we had was purchasing fire wood - it wasnt seasoned wood because it was extremely tough to get it lit even with lighter fluid. All in all its a very nice place and would suggest checking it out.
This is a great place for a novice camper or someone who wants an activity driven camping experience. This is not the place to go if you want peace and to remove yourself from society. I brought my family of 6 here and we had a great time. There are a ton of people from all walks of life. The most diverse campground ever! We loved the dance parties at night, the sip and paint, the arcade and the frog pond. We stayed in the camp area were all the action was. If you do the activities, be prepared to spend money! Very little was included. While we were there we did venture off to the quieter area of the campground. It was definitely more peaceful by the water. Those are the camp sites that are more true to a real camping experience. My oldest daughter hates camping and this is the only place she loved and wants to go back to.
A site backed up along the northway and the people crammed in the rental cabins created a very noisy campsite. They said the covid 19 is the reason for not running the shuttle to Lake George when you currently can get on a bus, train, airplane or even an Uber, to anywhere.Good for families with kids who want activities or just want to ride around in golf carts for the weekend (too many motorized vehicles on the campground roads). Not a good place for empty nesters looking to get away at least on a holiday weekend.
My family and friends have been coming here for years. It is a very active campground for all ages. We have always had a good experience until this week. We booked five nights with other family and friends. It was a total of seven camp sites. The first day we were there our power kept shutting off constantly along with others in our area. It was about 10-12 sites total. For the next two days it was the same thing. About every five to ten minutes the power would shut off. It was so bad we had to put our food in coolers with ice because our food was not cold enough and I had to put my two large breed dogs into a family members camper because it was so hot. I called the front desk on two separate days during our stay and they took my cell number down so the manager could call me back. I am still waiting on that call. We did stay for the full five days but several campers did leave. I do believe at the very least that we should get a return phone call. Very poor customer service to your management.
If we could write a review and give zero stars we would. This is the email that was sent to Lake George Escapes corporate office, RV on the Go, about them.Your office staff should be fired, especially supervisor Shannon and Kelly. We booked 4 campsites online. We called 4 days prior to check in to confirm that our sites were together, as requested on webform. We were rudely told by Kelly that there is no guarantee that sites will be together. There is no place on the webform that says this and we would not have booked had it been stated. I explained that we have young children and that I have a child with Autism who is 3 and spends most of his time in our camper for his own safety and comfort, therefore our sites needed to be together. Kelly was very argumentative. At no time was she professional or even seemed to listen to my concerns. She made excuses for why she could move around other reservations to put our group together when it seemed she just didnt want to bother to do her job. She told me I could call back the next day and speak to her supervisor. I was very upset by the call and my husband called back the next day. He again stated we needed to have our sites together and that this was the only reason we had booked. He was told by supervisor Shannon there was no way, she didnt even try to move others around to accommodate. There was no sense of care or concern for customer satisfaction and she was flat out rude. Our entire group decided to cancel at this point as we needed our sites together for safety of a special needs child. Shannon told us we would need to pay a $25 cancellation fee, even though we are outside the 48hour window and cancellation policy on the website clearly states all reservations before 9/30/20 will have cancellation fee waved if canceling 48 hours before. I told her this was clearly against the written policy on your site and she said she didnt care and would be charging it. This is a direct violation of your written policies. Shannon and Kelly should be fired. You should have a staff that is accommodating and kind to guests. Our 4 families will NEVER stay at this campground or any of your affiliates again and we will post in every place possible about our dissatisfaction. I will also post to all special ed sites I am part of that your employees discriminate against people with disabilities.
I got to stay In a loft cabin in Lake George escapes for four days and it was pretty nice. They don’t provide you with everything though. You are gonna need soap, towels, pillows, sheets and there’s also no grill. But the beds are pretty comfortable and the cabins are lovely. the bathrooms are also kinda small. The pool is also lovely. Instead of chlorine there’s salt water and the kiddie pool has a little slide. In the evening they have a DJ and you can dance to the music at the bar. I got to go on a tube there ($10 an hour plus tax) and I also went on a boat ride which requires LOTS of energy ($12 for a single and $15 for a double) very enjoyable experience and would recommend to anyone that wants to explore Lake George!
Visited with my family along with 2 others. 6 adults + 10 kids.2 of the families had an issue with getting the cabin we had reserved. We instead got the older cabins. Only explanation given was that we had booked through Corporate instead of directly with them. Not acceptable in my opinion.Nice campsite. Biggest complaint is that during the summer, expect BIG crowds. I like a bit of quiet. Wasnt getting it here. In addition, some of the visiting crowd is questionable (not the nicest). Got some looks that made us feel uncomfortable.New playground for the kids was nice. Enjoyed the tennis courts w/ basketball courts. Also used their Kayaks and Tubes, which was nice. One hour for the rental is not enough for the kayak. Also, inspect the river before you do the tubes. The river in our case was not moving at all.So had to paddle for about an hour to get back to the site. Not doing that again! For the cost, it was average. Youre also about 20 min away from Lake George area.
This was worth the visit... lots for the family, and kids to do. Its also motorcycle friendly with light dirt roads that you would easily make your way to the sites. A fire is a must if camping, the flies are ruthless. Off is a must. Firewood can be purchased on site, but the better deal can be found by exiting the park, making a right. Go down to the yield sign and make a left. There is a house on the right that sells firewood, very nice lady. The pool is awesome, and salt water. The little bar and restaurant is awesome, the owner Jason is really friendly and a great cook. He has some good food their so you will want to check that out. The lake George cider or tap is darn good, but a bit pricey for a cup. Its good though.Overall you will have a good time in the overall area. Dont forget to explore the area its really nice.
This was the worst experience I have ever had on a camping trip! The rules and policies are not enforced at all!!!! We had a group of people staying across from us who were drunk, high, loud and obnoxious! I 100% get you want to have a good time, but at 2am have a common courtesy for the people around you! There is a 5mph rule that no one adheres to. Minors (and I am not talking 16 year olds..i saw anywhere from 12-14 year olds) driving golf carts unsupervised and taking the cart on 2 wheels around corners! I was concerned about the safety of my children and other children just wanting to have fun but couldnt because of the negligence of others!! I also witnessed someone driving around with his children standing in the sun roof (standing child was no more then 4 and other child sitting on TOP of the roof being held by 4 year old was at most 2!!!! The office and security do not enforce the 1 strike policy! There is not enough security staff to man this overcrowded, too expensive, not well kept campground! We had voltage issues and could not run the AC for long because it was shorting out our camper. The excuse was they are working on it which seems to be what people heard in the past based on the reviews I read! This park needs to get their act together! If you are coming here to party and listen to loud people all night long then this is your place. If you are sane, have a family and want a relaxing trip then go-to Lake George RV park instead!
We stayed on the river, site S5 my 42’ fifth wheel barely fit the people in the office should know the park better to put you in the right spot, and there is signs all along the river that say no swimming you will be fined and asked to leave the resort immediately, that’s the hole reason for taking those site’s we thought.👎👎👎👎
Stayed for 4 days. I dont think the showers were ever cleaned. 1 of 2 toilets in the bathroom was clogged for almost 2 days with mound on top of mound, almost overflowing. Sites were on top of each other and people partied until 2am with no monitoring. Other than location to lake george not sure i would go back.
Lots of empty sites and almost no activities due to the pandemic. Pool did open on Saturday when it was only 60 degrees out and you had to reserve a spot. Playground and rec centers were closed. Wanted to come back in July but hesitant to pay 100 a night for campsite with almost no amenities due to Covid. Normally has a lot to offer.
Our cabin was beautiful and clean, plenty to do on site. My only complaint is with the tubing. When you sign up, they tell you it takes between 1-3 hrs, we took 2 1/2 and we were rushed out of the water and were harrased for taking too long. I overheard one of the employees telling another that we were taking our sweet time. This was brought to their attention when we visited last year, and they refunded us, but it seems as though they havent changed it.
Ive camped here multiple times, mostly in the fall, in both RVs and tents, and always had a great experience. We came here in the spring of 2015 on opening weekend and had a few minor complaints, which were understandable at the start of the season. I outlined these on the survey I was sent after our stay and within a week, Marilee had reached out to me to offer a free weekend stay to make up for it. I found that so professional and made me see that they are really reading those surveys. Our group so appreciated that, and our second stay promises to be as good as all our other fall stays! This campground is huge and well-maintained. We have camped there mostly at the end of the season so we dont have the same crowds, but the tent sites especially still feel private enough. The pool is great, the events are fun (we especially loved watching the tractor rides go by, playing music), and the store has a lot of great stuff. The grounds are really nice, and we have a lot of fun biking around the trails. The location of this campground is great, only one exit--about ten minutes--away from downtown Lake George.I would definitely recommend this campground!
I went, and for where it is located, it doesnt have much to do. Theres a swimming pool and a river. The cabin I stayed in was of high quality, however. The people that were near us also put all of their stuff in our parking space, so it was interesting trying to park. On the first night, someone locked the keys inside of the cabin, and we had to wait several hours due to the fact that the main lobby was closed at 8PM. In my opinion that is a bit too early for something of that importance to close. The security took several hours to answer our call as well. I would recommend finding somewhere else for your stay.
We are frequent visitors to Lake George escape and have always had a good time. We make a yearly group visit of 6-7 families for a week in July. This will be the last time we visit this campground. First day in we were approached at 9:30pm at night and rudely requested to take down our banners that had Trump on them that it was a violation of the camps policy. At no time was the policy handed to us upon check in or during the park rangers request to take down our flags. The very next morning two rangers arrived still with no policy in hand! The rangers had to go to the office and retrieve the “ policy”. It’s either take the flag down or leave! Secondly day 3, 6:30pm park ranger drives by stating the kids are being loud and to stop blowing the whistles they were playing with as people complaining they are trying to enjoy their dinner. Last I read that 8am-11pm are not quiet hours. Our group is beginning to feel harassed here!!
Great RV park with lots of activities and a nice camp steppe and restaurant. It is closer to Bolton Landing and Lake George with easy access to everything in the area. The people who work here are very friendly and helpful. This is a great place for everything from tent campers to pop ups and even the biggest RVs and travel trailers.
Staying at site 35, it is huge!! lots of space, quit but close to everything both in the campground and out. Cant wait to go tubing tomorrow and the free shuttle comes in handy to get to and from Lake George Village. So far all of the staff have been very friendly and helpful, the camp store is stocked and not over priced, and there are tons of activities for everyone to participate in!
My family and I absolutely love this campground. We started a couple years ago by just tenting and this year we bought a camper. We decided to rent a site (P133) on Frog Pond Road all summer long. It has been great. There has been a couple down falls this year, with the pools not opening until July and then the back flooding. I do agree communication at the park could be better, but I believe the good outweighs the bad. The staff is wonderful and very helpful. I had to call security at 2am one night (yes there are security personnel on site at all times despite what other reviewers reported). We are located way down back. Security was at our camp site in minutes. It was extremely foggy outside and our electricity went out. I wasnt sure if it was us or the whole street. He went riding around to make sure the street was fine. Then he came back and looked at our fuse box for us and fixed it (something he did not have to do). We have gotten to know the staff and many campers there. The activities are great. They have bingo, movie night, wagon rides, haunted hay rides, Friday night bonfires, a nightly DJ during the busy part of the summer, mini golf, arcade, river tubing, and other daily kid friendly activities. The activity staff are absolutely wonderful. The pools can become busy, but you dont have to just swim there. There is also the river beach and if you want to go off site, Lake George and a couple water parks are about 10 minutes or so down the road. If you dont feel like cooking, the grill has delicious pizza, burgers and to die for hot wings. There is also a bar that not only sells beer, but other alcohol drinks. A good assortment for a campground if you ask me. We love our site and believe we will rent it for the whole summer next year as well. I have never seen any of the sites left dirty and they are well taken care of. I have seen people move out only to have the staff on the site picking it up immediately. I dont blame the staff for messy sites, I blame the lazy campers that cant bring their own garbage to 1 of the 20 or so dumpsters that are throughout the campground. If you are looking for a real quiet place to stay with no activities, this is not the place for you. If you are looking for outdoor family fun, this definitely is the place for you.
I am greatly disappointed with my experience from last weeks cabin rental 6-19 to 6-26.To have no pool for the entire week was a huge blow to my kids, wife and myself. We were told this info two days before our rental time. When my wife called to complain she was told that they were waiting for the pools to be inspected and the pools will open next week (which would be on the Monday of our week)It’s to late to re schedule anywhere so we went with it. The first thing we find while moving into the cabin was a shower drain clogged with a huge dried pile of hair. The rest of the bathroom was dirty. We had to clean most of the cabin to feel comfortable. When you live in a bathroom thats not yours, it should be cleaned well to make you feel comfortable. Everything was so dirty and nasty looking. We also planned on eating at the grill at least one meal a day. We were told they won’t open till June 28th. We couldnt rent a paddle boat or tube. We had to go off the campground to keep our kids happy. The soft serve machine was broke and it just added to our disappointment. Speeding vehicles going down the one way street all week. Little kids everywhere. Very dangerous. No pool all week. We checked out one day early and the front desk took my number and informed me that we would receive a call from the manager and that we should get a some money back. This never happened.
Amazing place for the family, its clean safe and stars shine bright at night. It kid friendly and lots of other kids around and activities to keep them busy. They have golf cart rentals for people who want (highly reccomend this), there was a wait list to rent it because of how many people wanted them. They have a beach on site, every cabin has fire pits and picnic bench. There are spots for people who have RVs. The area is heavily wooded and cozy.
Great place with very accommodating staff! We came from the city and want a more secluded site and the staff is extremely friendly and offer us one! Strict enforce quiet hours with security checking the campground once a while. Will definitely come back for some weekend getaway!
Great experience, friendly staff, tons of activities for the family, clean pool and so much more. They have it all a great location, plenty of room, hot showers, etc.. I would highly recommend this campground to those with kids. They have plenty to offer and a great staff to help along the way. They even deliver balloons to your site if you are having a birthday. We love it.
We love this campground. We have searched many places in the Northeast and always come back here. There is a bar/restaurant with a daily happy hour. Events throughout the day, beautiful pool, tubing, mini golf, a great camp store, clean bathrooms, a shuttle into Lake George. Weve stayed in all the areas-rv, tent, and the last time we rented cabins. We have always had to book far in advance.
So many things for the whole family to do. This is a well maintained and efficiently managed. The staff is very friendly, activity operators are really good with kids, the bathrooms are clean (considering they are being used by campers), and most of the activities are free.We will book again for next year.
If its in season, it can be crowded. Extremely crowded. In September, it wasnt too bad. We had a large site with full hookups nearly surrounded by empty tent sites. Beware the Friday and Saturday night parties and golf cart parade. The lady at the front desk hates dogs. The rest of the staff were friendly.
Ive been to a lot of campgrounds this one is not the best in New York based on its advertising. Customer service is terrible. There were a group of three trailers. We asked to just be close to each other. We confirmed three times over four months to ensure. When we arrived we were told they dont reserve sites. One of our group had to move because a trailer was coming in to a reserved site. Go figure. The amenities are lacking supervision, the pool is chaotic. The beach is a laugh, the rope is literally four feet into the river. They advertise tubing, thats hasbeem stopped by the corporation. Go to Tubby Tubes. The sites havent been groomed at all, we had to cut our own branches so we would fit. There is so much standing water the mosquitoes are terrible. We were told by other seasonals the black flies a month earlier were worse. Since Encore took over they are sucking the money from the campground. You dont even get paid cash if you win at bingo its a gift card to the site store that has to be used this season. And dont get me started on the unsupervised speeding through the campground. No regards for kids on bikes or people walking. We called security a half dozen times with no results. We will not be back.
Overall we had a great time here. Half of us stayed in the cabins, the other half on tent sites near the river. Plenty of room in both. Plenty of amenities on site. Plenty of things to do. Bathrooms/showers were very clean. We had a lot of fun using the volleyball courts and disc golf fields. Nobody bothered us with noise nor told us to quiet down. No major complaints. The roads/overcrowding are a bit of a problem. I definitely recommend camping on the outer rims, by the river, as the center campsites looked so cramped and miserable. It takes nearly 10 minutes to get into or out of the campground because there are so many pedestrians, bikers, golf carts, big wheels, etc. on the narrow roads. And they all refuse to move for vehicles, or give you dirty looks if you go 6mph instead of the posted 5mph. We felt like we were being shamed for using a vehicle to leave the premises. We also had a weird experience with the pool monitor at the pool. Theres signs posted every few feet with the main rules(no running, jumping, etc.). Nothing about floats, so we brought a small one-person donut tube to play with. Apparently there is a small, fine-print sign on the pool entrance claiming no large floaties are permitted. The pool monitor was very excited to enforce that rule, yet did nothing about the little kids running around the edges or diving over other guests. He then watched us like a hawk the rest of the time. It was very strange and uncomfortable. Floaters beware!
We just got back from a long Labor Day weekend at Lake George Escape and LOVED it. This place has tons of activities and things for the kids to do and when there werent activities there was plenty of non-organized things to keep our daughter busy. We stayed in a more private area of the resort which seemed to be for the large RVs and found it to be perfect. The sites were huge and there was plenty of room between sites. They had a very efficient check-in process that made things very fast and there was very little back up at the entrance. We had a problem with our electric when we got to the site and it was taken care of within 5 minutes of notifying the office. We will go back many more times. This place is GREAT!!!
This by far is the worse rv campground we have Ever been to. I booked online about three weeks in advance for this trip with our family. It was a little pricey at $122 a night but Online it said we were paying for a waterfront spot, so I thought it would be worth it, boy was I wrong . The second we got there we noticed we were in the middle of two Construction sites with NO WATER VIEW , we were also very close to other Rvs with absolutely no privacy on either side. We went to the front desk to explain to them that we payed for a water front property and this is what was said to us and let me quote “It is a water front, you just can’t see it”. So yea if u want to spend $350 for two nights to stay at a water front property you can’t see this is perfect for you!
ZERO STARS! Me and my family went here for my birthday and we thought it would be fun, but that was far from true. When we walked in to check in there was a man crying about the prices and how it should of been discounted sense nothing was open due to the pandemic. That was our first warning. When we got our keys and went to our cabin we rented and when we stepped in I Immediately smelt propane, and that would be an issue later And it was not clean at all.Me and my family brought Food to bake in the oven that said on the website it would work, but when we tried to make it work we would just smell more gas! So we called the front office and asked if someone could come down and help us with the oven And maybe we were doing it wrong but when a worker came down and tried to help us he said the oven didn’t work and they could not give us a different cabin because they didn’t have a cabin at the time that we stayed there. The person helping us and said that we should go to the front office to talk to someone about our room. So me and my family walked angrily down to to the front desk and when we walked in we were greeted by one lady who said that she would help us. She said there was no other cabin that we could have, and that’s when the main person probably the manager can’t came in and started calling us liars. She said the Ovens only worked in the new ones which was a total lie and it said on the website that it would work! We said that our oven should’ve been working and that they lied on their website and they said that our cabins did not have theWorking ovens and they did not have anything of the sort which made us very angry my my mom is about to pull up a picture on her phone that showed all the details and more about our room and when My mother almost brought it up the manager suddenly said that we could have a refund if we wanted one which of course we took it. They were mean the whole time we were there and they miss treated us! Do not go there all the reviews we saw looked good but if you actually look through them There are actually a lot of bad reviews. The person right next to us in our cabin said they needed help with the electrical System. If we stayed there we probably would’ve gotten hurt Or gotten carbon monoxide poisonin! PLEASE do not go there you could get hurt, and you could get sick because the room wasn’t clean! Right now it’s just not a good decision to go there it might’ve been a good decision to go when everything was fixed, but now they’re just money hungry now it’s not fair at all.FOR EVERYONES SAFETY PLEASE DO NOT GO and please be careful if you get room 411.
Nothing was open the week we went. They tried to make up for everything but instead they all were just rude and made excuses to not do things.. it was a not so good experience.. but it was a nice time with family but they need to do better or no one will want to come back..
This is a very nice campground with lots of different types of sites - some wooded, some grassy. There is a pool, a beach on the river and fishing and kayaking. It’s great for biking. There are many planned activities throughout the day. Even though it is very big it is pretty quiet. This is a nice place to camp with a family.
Family stayed Memorial weekend 2019. Check in took forever. Friendly staff just not organized. Cabin was clean. After unpacking and getting settled in first night, found out heat/ac didnt work. Maintenance came, 2 of them. Great guys but it couldnt be fixed. Too tired to switch cabins so we dealt. Water smelled like rotton eggs the whole 4days. TV in room had no sound. Maintenance couldnt fix. Was told cabins arent inspected before season open. Pool never opened! We were very disappointed! Ended up having to spend money to take kids swimming elsewhere. Previous year was great but not sure if we will give it another chance.
This could be a great campsite, but they cant seem to get out of their own way. They have the amenities that any camper would desire, and even some that no one else offers, but they charge extra for everything even with a high daily fee. The problems begin at registration and its hard to move on from there. They will not commit to reserving sites by number, so you could end up almost anywhere. Fine for individual family campers, but not good for group campers. Has a wet bar on-site which I have never seen elsewhere, but that cant make up for the administrative issues. Will move your site if another camper stays longer and wants your location. Cannot move your site to an open location, even thought they claim not to reserve sites by number. Too confusing, no good answers from staff. Nice location, but poorly operated.
Very large campground. Golf cart or bicycles are a must. We stayed there from 7/11/19 to 7/15/19. When we 1st arrived, they had us in a horrible site. S28 along the Schroon River. Bugs were insane and the site was not meant for our 40’ 5th wheel. But after we talked with the staff, they quickly had us look at other sites to move to.Our 2nd site was IDEAL! We picked P123 and we loved it! Bugs were still around at sunset, but the site was level and large. The staff is very friendly and there are quite a few things to do stay busy at the campground. Bathhouses are very clean. We purchased firewood from one of the many sellers who live on the road leading to the campground. Much cheeper and more firewood for the price. We played bingo a few days, tie-dyed shirts and kayaked on the Schroon River.Lake George Escape is only about 12 minutes from the base Lake George. We would definitely go back again in the near future.
Everything described in the website was closed so there wasnt much to do. The pedal karts were fun to ride and the pool was nice to swim in. These were almost the only leisurely things to do that were open. It would be a better experience if the website updated what was open and what wasnt.
This is our second visit to Lake George Escape and there wont be a third. The only word I can say to describe this campground is CHAOS. When we arrived at our site 319, it was filthy. There was rubbish in the fire pit, dog poop that I had to pick up and the lawn hadnt been mowed in weeks. We are not picky people, we are only looking for a nice relaxing clean space to enjoy. Here are a few things we put up with while we were there for the week. There were motorized dirt bikes and 4 wheelers driving around at all hours , day and night. Site 319 is located on the main drag so the traffic was constant, not to mention the 5 MPH speed limit is a joke as it was like sitting at a race track. There are children under the age of 10 driving golf carts around, bikes galore, walking was like taking your life in your hands. We even watched kids sitting on hoods and roofs of vehicles....there is NO security in this campground that we could see. There is a septic tanker truck that drives by 4-6 times a day to pump the septic from the campground (according to staff) the truck noise and road dust is ridiculous. There was a tractor patching the road 3 days that we were there right in front of our site. The pool is an accident waiting to happen. It was so full of kids running and jumping in, throwing soccer balls, that adults couldnt enjoy it at all. ...there is no adult time to enjoy the pool. The river beach is okay....I sat there one night reading and watched a 3 yr old and a 6 yr old unsupervised. I blame the Parents for this, however, there should be a Security Person in each section for safety purposed or to hold Parents accountable. The rules this campground has is a joke and there isnt anyone enforcing any of them. The dog play yard was so full of dog poop you couldnt even enter it without dancing around the land mines. Gross and disgusting! The shuttle is a plus to get a ride into the town, however, make sure you pay attention to the schedule as the people going to Six Flags have priority reservations and you will be taking an additional unexpected ride, and the van is overfilled and unsafe, dont expect a seat belt . Tubing was fun, the people who run it are great, and it was the best part of the week. If you are planning to go here, my suggestion would be to get into the 600 section. The sites are large and more private, however, bring ear plugs, your gonna need them. This campground has such potential....its mismanaged!

2022-05-23My family has been coming here for the last eight years and have enjoyed our experiences. The staff are welcoming and the facilities are kept up nicely. There is much to do for the kids as well as adults. This year we decided to obtain a seasonal site; even though the season was roughly already two weeks underway, the staff were very accommodating to get us the site we wanted. Very appreciative of Jeff, he was fantastic at helping us out in locking in the site we picked. Bob head of maintenance is awesome as well; he stopped by and helped us with an RV issue.

2022-06-12Amazing time! So many amenities at this place for kids and family! Pool, volleyball, mini golf, arcade, and so on. Definitely worth the stay! The cabin has everything you need from kitchen utensils to bathroom towels and all. The maintenance man Tim was extremely friendly along with Donna the clerk! I will definitely be returning for another great weekend at these campgrounds ⛺️

2021-11-09Stayed in a cabin for the weekend with the wife and 2 kids. The kids absolutely LOVED the loft. Two separate sections, one for each of them. When we got to our cabin, it was spotless. You can tell it was pretty new, maybe a year old, and very well maintained. The camp store is well stocked with essentials and good selection of souvenirs. We didnt use the pool, as it was a bit crowded. But we did go swimming in the river, which was nice. A little cool being June, but not bad.Went on Fathers Day weekend, and the campground was pretty full. But everyone was pretty respectful and we had no problems with noise, as everyone seemed to abide by the quiet hours.Between the cleanliness, the amenities and the proximity to Lake George Village, it was fantastic. Were already planning a week long stay next year.

2022-06-08Website doesn’t disclose that no activities are open/available beginning of June. Intentionally booked this “resort” on a long trip with family so that the kids had some stuff to do as a change from the state parks we’ve been in. Pool, recreation room are closed, were given a menu at check in for the on-site restaurant that’s…closed. Initial site we were given was hard to tell if it was a pull through or back in site, but was in no way big enough for our camper to get in. Thankful that office staff was friendly and moved us to another area.No benches in showers - sounds trivial but when you’re carrying caddies, clothes and towels for kids only to have to put them on the floor…not good.Didn’t realize (and should have researched better) that this is a timeshare campground. Not a fan!

2022-06-02Always a great time when we camp there. Alot to do for the kids, will return again this or next year for sure. Everyone is super friendly wether its other campers or staff members. I went in to buy steak sauce that we forgot and my daughter wanted a slush puppy, the kid behind the counter handed me a free slush puppy coupon. Truly a great place for young kids

2022-05-28This place has become totally horrible. After last year’s issues with flooding and people driving all the way there to find out that they have no sites, we thought we would give it another try this year. Today, we drove an hour and a half, burned up a bunch of diesel fuel at 6.60 per gallon just to find out they did not have a site for us, after having confirmation. Really sad. We used to love this place but it is totally gone to the crapper! Never again will we go here . One star is being generous. Trust me, when it happens to you, just remember this review.

2022-05-30Drove here all the way from Philly, had a very tight site that definitely wasnt meant for a 5th wheel. People felt entitled to dictate rules of the dog park! Office came to repo the golf cart we paid $135 a night for with a credit card on file. Not a good experience overall.

2022-06-07Looks like they are upgrading campground. Man who checked us in gave us bad directions to our site. Pool ok in need of a second one. Lots of rules but most campers ignore them and campground does not enforce. Outdoor movie was nice idea but dj at bar drowns it out. Also beware they try to sell you on a timeshare for campgrounds. Would not go back.

2022-05-282nd time camping plans were ruined by this place! Last year the place flooded they canceled our friends the day they were arriving.Today they gave our site to a person with a smaller camper and didn’t have a site big enough to fit our fifth wheel! Will not camp here again and would not suggest it.

2021-12-21I came to Lake George Escape with my extended family of 20+ people we all got to participate in a fun filled weekend of family challenges and what the resort called LGE SURVIVOR! it was definitely a great team building and memory filled time. it is a time my family will hold onto and laugh about for years to come.We rented out 5 cabins and all where spectacular. Everything we possibly would have need was provided and the place look and smelled clean. Before coming we did read some negative reviews however coming in we checked every inch of each cabin they where better than I ever expected.Thank you to all of the staff for such a spectacular time I hope we come back in years to come.
