Landmark Theatre in other cities:
The theater is gorgeous. It was easy to find free on street parking getting there just 30 minutes before doors opened. The bar was reasonable! 24.00 got us a water, 2 sodas, one beer and two candy bars. Bar staff was nice and fast. This review would be five stars if the facilities were adequate for the number of patrons. 10–20-minute show intermission good luck being able to use the restroom and get back to your seat in time, especially if it is a packed performance. Additionally, if you are seated in the middle of a row the seating rows are so narrow you have to trip over everyone to get back to your seat in the dark. That experience was not pleasant. Someone made the comment to my daughter that is why you go before the show. We did, but she has a tiny preemie bladder! 500.00 for tickets and we missed 20 minutes of the second half because of the bathroom situation.
Great place for any kind of live performance. It is a beautiful historic theater. Great views and acoustics. That said, beware of possible seating discomfort...avoid the balcony if you are over a size 2 or over 4 feet tall (not kidding). Orchestra seating and loge seating are much better, but tickets will cost more. Not really accessible for wheelchairs (accommodations can be made, but not ideal) Be prepared for extremely long lines for restrooms.
Beautiful theater however the seats ARE WAAAYYY too small and close together. I am 59 and my knees are digging into the seat in front of me. For just changing the seats out you think they would have made it more spacious. I dont expect a ton of leg room but to be able to fit would be nice.
I saw the last show of Hamilton. I bought my ticket at 3 oclock that day and the woman I dealt with couldnt have been more helpful. I strongly suggest you deal directly with the box office versus other ticket vendors. It was wonderful to see the improvements theyve made but, sadly, its now shows theres still more to be done. Its mostly cosmetic so Im sure itll be attended to. The seats are much more comfortable. It would have been better to have a bit more leg room. Other people made the same observation. The show itself was fantastic and the Landmark was the perfect venue for it..So excited to be back there and to see this amazing show.
The intricate and detailed woodwork and carvings all over the walls and ceilings was absolutely amazing. The level of skill and craftsmanship is mindblowing and by itself is worth a visit to the venue to see it alone. The acoustics and view were also very good and I would highly recommend to anyone to check out a show there and be sure to walk around and get a good look and appreciation for the people who put in the hours and hours of a skill that is not passed on as much as it should be so we can have more beautiful woodwork in venues in the future.
I had the pleasure of seeing Roald Dahl’s Charlie & the Chocolate Factory on Broadway a couple months ago. It was nice to see everyone out and enjoying the theater with their family and friends. The theater is beautifully decorated and the entrance staff were very friendly and attentive.
First off, I want to say the shows are top notch and the theater is beautiful. However, the new seats are just as lumpy and uncomfortable as the old seats. They are barely staggered so if you get a larger person in front it is difficult to see. The floor does not have much of an incline. I much preferred the set up at the Civic Center.
Saw Hamilton at the Landmark Theater and was blown away by the performance. We had front & center seats so the sound was great, visuals were amazing. The theater seats were comfortable, looks like they were recently updated. A couple battle scars on the walls need to be addressed but for a 100-year-old venue I think its in great shape. Nice job Syracuse, well never forget that show!
Went to see Joe B. He was phenomenal!! The best guitar playing I have ever seen. Almost unhuman! However, a HUGE issue was that you could hardly hear him singing! AND forget understanding most of the words!!! The instruments drowned out the voices over and over again. The sound mix was terrible!!I dont know if it was the venue or the sound system or both, but it diminished the experience significantly.I would not recommend going to the Landmark theater to hear a fav artist.
The landmark theatre is absolutely beautiful inside. Located in downtown Syracuse, its marquis lights up the block telling the current show. We went to see Hamilton. I will not review the show, this review is about the theatre.I was just in awe of how pretty and ornate the decor or this theatre. It was a bit dimly lit so pictures dont do it justice. We were wanded, purses searched etc in a swift but polite manner. Staff wished us a good time as we proceeded deeper toward the bar, merchandise counter, and aisles. We arrived in plenty of time (7:10 for an 8pm show) to find our seats and get settled in except for the fact that they dont let you in to the seating to find your seats until 7:30 even though the web site said doors opened one hour prior to performance. Added to this stress was the fact that people were continually coming in but there was no room to move. It was very humid and stifling, and you were packed in like sardines in a can. Also, no protocols for Covid were followed so there was no way to social distance and no masks required. Disaster! With 1500 to 2000 people and nowhere to turn or breathe and no air circulating? We all ended up with headaches and dizziness due to the overcrowding, lack of circulating air, and uncomfortable conditions. And restrooms are WOEFULLY inadequate for that size crowd. I will never go back there again. Instead I will wait for a show to come to Rochester or Buffalo. Not worth the hassle at all
Not real pleased with the show we saw there. Mostly because the lack of communication between the ushering staff and the patrons. We saw the Blue Man Group, which had been postponed twice due to COVID,it was supposed to start at 2 it was almost 3 when when we were allowed to get seated and then it was another 20min. Before the show got started. Also the building is in dire need of repairs . There are holes in the walls, peeling wallpaper and trash every where. The carpet could use a good vacuuming and cleaning.
I went to go see Hasan Minhaj here yesterday (March 2022), and while his show was AMAZING and the stage/venue was beautiful, the service from the workers here was absolutely horrible. Almost every single person I interacted with was rude to me. The people who were checking tickets were rude and unorganized, Security was overly aggressive, and the workers at the concession stand were disrespectful. The only person who was nice to us was a woman (I believe her name was Nancy—very kind woman) who helped us to find seats after we were being sent around in circles. Unfortunately, this treatment tainted me and my friends mood for the night and has left a stain on my memory of an otherwise fantastic performance. I do not look forward to having to go to another show at this venue because of it.
We are impressed with the progress of the renovation at this grand old theater. Unfortunately our qexperience with the security personnel was unsatisfactory. My wife is a disabled law enforcement officer... raising her hands above her head while holding her heavy handbag is difficult. She handed her bag off to me ....After that the bag did pass inspection, but the security officer took the time to look at her and inquire ...why exactly do you need such a big bag...
Awesome renovation of a historic theatre!! My jaw dropped when we walked in - just stunning! Saw a show there and our seats near the back still gave us a great view. Loved that there is a lower level with womens bathrooms and another bar - both very uncrowded - mixed drinks were very reasonable - Bacardi and grapefruit was only $8 which is very cheap for a theatre. Wish we lived closer to this magnificent theatre!!
The outside of the theatre its not much to look at but the inside is where are the details are! Its in decent enough shape but still awesome to look at. Stained glass exit signs, three bars (one on each level) and carved details are everywhere. There is little to no slope in the first 20 rows so if you are short it can be hard to see over the people in front of you. Would def go see a show here again.
For a place that has $$$$ reconstruction...it lacks a lot! Stairs without railings...26 stairs straight up with no railing...or down? Safety hazard...falling hazard...it was sold out last night...a balcony of over 200 senior citizens....They did bring back the beauty and splendor of an era gone by...beautiful golden and ornamental! Sorry safety comes first and it did not!
This is a classic, beautiful theater. The acoustics are great for shows and the seats provide excellent views of the stage. Multiple entrances make bigger shows easier. Good selection of snacks and drinks at the bar. Would definitely add this to the list of preferred venues.
Very historic theater. Went to see Christmas vacation with Chevy Chase. Audio was pretty loud and there was no bass. Movie crapped out for like 2mins during the show. Seats could use cup holders. Ushering staff was very rude and unprofessional. Not what I would expect from such a place.
We had a wonderful time together at this performance. It was my first time here and I felt a little rushed inside the main lobby to go to our seats. I wanted to look at how beautiful the detail was on the walls and ceilings before the show started and the lights were still on. The seats were great no matter where you sat to see everything
We loved the old architecture. It was like walking into a different world. We were there to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I was fortunate enough to have seats where there were none if front of us. Cannot comment on leg room elsewhere. Sound was great. View was great. Temperature was perfect. Staff was nice.
Venue is great as usual, we saw the Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer: The Musical here, fantastic time all around. If you can get pit seats I highly recommend! Be careful if youre tall, I would NOT suggest sitting on the mezzanine. All the staff was friendly too, a rarity these days.
Absolutely gorgeous place for an event. Have been here for a wedding, large business holiday party, and many musicals.Orchestra seats are a bit roomier than upper level (if youre afraid of heights, def stick to the ground floor here -- steep, tight seating on upper floors). Park in garage on S. Clinton St to save yourself hassle of finding street pkg (tight spaces, $15 for event pkg, BUT its right behind Landmark..quick walk, and open all night!).
1st time back in many years. I am big fan of the small theaters/ Intimate settings. Perfect venue to see my favorite band of all time-Steely Dan. Seats have lots of leg room,no bad seats and great acoustics. The ornate decor inside gives you a plenty to view while u wait. A historical treasure.
Kind of silly covid restrictions. Sitting in a theatre with hundreds of people wearing masks just doesnt make any sense. On top of that, when you exit the building they require you to scan your ticket and on re-entry. This wouldnt be a problem if they have reception or free WiFi, but literally no cell signal in the main lobby doesnt help. Also why are you requiring people to scan to go outside? Explain the logic 🙄
First time here to see John Prine. Awesome show!!!! The theater is pretty nice too. Very well preserved and very ornate decore. My big nick is the fact that you cant bring your drinks into the theater. I can see that for some shows but at this show were talking most folks over sixty. As a result the lobby was packed so tight you could hardly move.
Great turn of the century old movie house that has been restored to its glory. Unbelievable architecture and fantastic acoustics. Only drawback is the security thinks they can bully and intimidate anyone. I was screamed at by one who told me he was sick of having to tell me no photographs, and is here did it again, he would throw me and my date out.Funny thing was, I was using Google Keyboard to update the setlist the band was playing, not taking a photo, and have been told even once proper to her laying hey hands on me and shooting so aggressively.I advised her I hadnt been spoken to once, about anything, and hey response was well you have been now...I went and asked to speak with the building manager, who asked me cell phone photos were dinner, and her would go have a talk with her right then.He did, and they backed off, but I had watched them bully people for sample an hour proper to me hoping to speak with a manager.Thats the only reason for the four and not five stars.
Absolutely gorgeous theater with surprisingly comfortable seats! The staff is very helpful. There are a couple places to get snacks and cocktails. The theater is easy to find and even if youre in the balcony, you can see everything clearly happening on stage. I would go there again, 100%!
Went there to see the Blue man group for the first time awesome show 👍👍👍👍👍 well definitely go and see that show again as far as parking that was a pain in the you know what we finally found a place to park wow 15$ but the show made up for it 👍. oooo 9$ for a draft beer 🍺
Pretty interior, terrible seating arrangement, sticky floors, zero leg space. Although I loved the show I saw (Book of Mormon), my experience was negative. My knees were literally on the back of the seat in front of me. I would prefer to go to a nice venue to see my next show.
Absolutely beautiful venue. Im always blown away by how wonderful the interior looks as you walk inside. I have only ever been there to see concerts and the sound is always great in there. The bathrooms stay mostly clean and there are a few different ones on site to ease the lines. The seats are mostly comfortable, but if you are tall like me, you will have no leg room at all, and there isnt much elbow room either. My most recent visit was Nov 2021 and there are covid protocols in place so check their website before you go
GREAT venue. The Landmark is such a beautiful theatre with great history here in Syracuse. We attended the first show upon The Landmarks reopening - Charlie & the Chocolate Factory. The new seats are MUCH better than the old ones, and were glad that theatre is back in Syracuse!I always enjoy every trip to The Landmark, and Im glad to see that theyre investing in restoring it and making it a more comfortable venue. Hopefully it will attract more shows to Syracuse!
An oldie but a goodie. This is an older venue, with a great stage and a great acoustics. Theres plenty of seating, including a balcony. This place offers great visibility pretty much anywhere you are seated. This place hosts everything from concerts to comedians to brewfests!
Going to see the Steve Martin Martin Short show at the Landmark Theater was a wonderful experience; not just the show but also for the venue itself. As we entered the South Salina Street lobby the design of this opulent venue was obviously by Thomas W. Lamb. Originally opened the 18th day of February 1928 by the Loew’s Corporation the lobby featured a chandelier designed by Louis Tiffany for Cornelius Vanderbilt’s mansion, exquisite murals, and tapestries. This theatre was open for business from 1928 until its closure in 1975. The Syracuse Area Landmark Theatre (SALT) then bought and restored this local landmark to its former state of grandeur in a 2011 renovation project.Watching a production here will transport you back in time, surrounded by the architecture, décor, and ambiance for the late 1920’s. Advertised as “the last word in theatrical ornateness and luxuriousness,” many a folk frequented this incredible venue for reprise form the reality of the outside world. During this time the Great Depression and World War II were the events that the theater patrons could escape from for a few hours and enter the plush grandeur of this magnificent building.Above I had mentioned that the Loew’s Corporation was the original owner of this theater, and why yes, it is the same as Loew’s cinemas you might go to today and spend $27.50 for a soda and popcorn. The days when corporations took pride in the experience of their customers; except they strictly segregated the seating well into the 20th century. So, basically Loew’s (who are not the current owners) were not thinking of their customers back then either.Kudos to SALT for their restoration of both the theater and for the equality of all their customers.
Bought season tickets and was sent an email saying we could pick up the tickets and see the renovations for a couple of days between 10am and 5pm. We arrived at 4:45 and after walking around trying to find where to go with all the doors closed and locked, we caught someones attention. They came out to inform us that the tickets had to be locked away in the safe. Not sure why they would have to be locked away before 5 and how that process requires so much time it had to be done before 5. I guess we have to load up the family of 6 back into the van and leave disappointed. Not sure why you would advertise until 5 if you dont actually do it until 5? Not even the first show and I wish I hadnt bought them. Will not be buying them again.
A historical theatre in an easy to find location. They have great seating when it comes to how anyone can view the stage. Ive sat down in around 5 or 6 locations in this place and never had an issue. Never had a problem with bathrooms or concessions, though their may be a lot of people they handle it well and service quickly. The design of the place is lovely as well. Been to many shows at this place since high school, I always look forward to returning here.
Beautiful theater and a great venue. The seats can be a little tight at times, but for the most part comfortable. I have been many times over the past year to see different type of shows. I think this venue has accommodated each show very nicely. Plus, who doesnt love a historic theater.
This is a beautiful theater to go and see any performance. They do offer wine, sodas, and water. But, unfortunately they only offer candy as food snacks. I wish they would offer chips or anything but just candy. The seating is plentiful and not cramped. Its very easy to find your seats or be directed to one. The street does get crowded on busy nights but its not horrendous.
Ive only been there once for Chevy Chase, but it was a cool, unique atmosphere to spend a few hours for some entertainment. The only knock was an issue with the Christmas Vacation Movie, but honestly it wasnt that big of a deal! I had a beer while I was there and that was delicious. Definitely recommend and cant wait to see another show there!
Another place appearing in my timeline that I did visit. I was across the street from the Landmark in a store, however the couple of times I have been in Downtown Syracuse, I always walk on the opposite side of Salina Street. Perhaps my Stalker is now following me when walking around the city!!!!
Who knew this would be such a fabulous venue for a wedding? Apparently, my sister did and we all had such a great time! Danielle is a fantastic coordinator, and the set up with extra rooms for resting children and the wedding party was just perfect. I cant wait to see the pictures, since the venue was so gorgeous. I remember the Landmark from decades ago, where I had my dance recital every year and attended some great concerts. Now I have a fresh memory, and this place continues to impress.
Its an old pretty theater. We love going to shows here, its the perfect place to grab dinner before and drinks after. Since it is old its got a lot of quirks, like smaller seats with much less leg room than were used to now a days and some of the lights are supplemented with stage lights during seating. Its beautiful though and makes for great pictures! I love walking around and looking at all the art and architectural details. Theres always plenty of staff around to ask for help finding your way around.
Beautiful place the inside is lovely. The chairs however are terrible, very uncomfortable but they are very very old and have had many visitors sitting on them. It is a very old building and in the midst of a renovation, when it is summer and full of people to enjoy a concert or event it can get quite warm so dress in comfortably breathable clothes to stay comfortable.
The theatre itself is immaculate. Detailed artistic construction make this place a magnificent work of art. The shows there are usually fantastic. BUT.... The seating there is made for people 175 lbs or less and under 6 feet tall. Anyone over that is probably going to be rather uncomfortable.
Beautiful theatre, but the seats... oh no the seats. Parking is hard to find, so best to arrange transportation. Okay the seats, depending on where you sit and how big/tall you are... it will be painful and uncomfortable to say the least. I understand the desire to fit as many seats as possible, but its time to remove some and give your customers something a little more comfortable!
The seats are not staggered so if you want to be sure to see get up close. The person in front of me had a large head, and I couldnt see. There was a tall person three rows down that blocked my husbands view. Beautiful theater and very helpful guides. Small stage and seats that are hard to sit in for three hours...not comfortable.
Great acoustics and decor. The seating, however not the most comfortable. Im not a tall guy and my knees were against the seat in front of me the whole show. O understand its a historical site and cant just be renovated, really my only complaint. concessions are a bit pricy but better than a movie theater.
The theater is easy to get to. Drinks arent too expensive, and are made better than average honestly. If your pee shy be prepared to hold it. Mens/womens gets crowded fast. The seats are great for hobbits with big booties. But if your above 55 and have an average or less rear prepare to be uncomfortable. The environment, shows, and service have always been fantastic.
Awesome venues, the seats in the upper half were so cramped that I had to stand in the aisle and stretch my legs for the second half of the show. Im just over 6 foot tall, so if you have long legs, consider paying more for a closer seat or possibly an end seat to get some leg room.
This theatre is stunning and I was extremely excited in entry to watch the show. However upon arriving to our seats I realized I was in for a rough ride. There wasnt even enough room to put my legs in front of me and I have a 29 inseam. Thankfully the girls that were supposed to sit next to us couldnt fit so they sat in the stairs so we were able to sit kind of side saddle. Beautiful theatre, amazing show. And I would never go again, Ive never been that uncomfortable in my life.
Top quality shows. Paid a little more than expected for two balcony tickets to Fiddler, but the experience was generally enjoyable. My only issue is that there weren’t enough room for my legs. I am 6 feet tall, not especially tall, and my knees were colliding with the seat in front of me and preventing my feet from touching the floor.I had a good experience other than that, but would not sit in the balcony again without an aisle seat.
A beautiful venue to see a show. Acoustics are very good. Our seats were in the balcony, left side and the view of the stage was great. The seats are a little close to each other there for todays leg lengths, but not overly cramped unless guest in front of you view their seats as a make out couch. The details in the lobby and the theater itself are stunning and in beautiful shape. The only minor negative is that the ratio of restroom facilities to the number of people seems off. There were significant lines in the mens and womens rest rooms. I guess bodily functions must have operated a little differently when the theater was designed and built.
Gorgeous architecture! Absolutley stunning! My husband and I saw The Book of Mormon here and we were blown away by how beautiful it was. The show was fabulous! It was the funniest show Ive seen in years! The production was great, the lighting, accoustics etc were phenomenal. Great place! The bathrooom situation is a little weird, they could fix that up but besides that everything was gold!
The very historic beautiful building inside the only thing is the seats have not been upgraded to current standards so youre also sitting in a historic seat. I Saw The Lion King there and it was excellent it was very easy to exit the building parking is usually a challenge but we lucked out that night and got a spot right next to the theater. I would have given in a V if the seats were more comfortable.
Very ornate, very old, very beautiful deco as you walk through the front door! Its like taking a step back in time! The main bathrooms on the other hand are very modern so you dont lose out on modern necessities. Im impressed with detailed wood work around the entire building. Even the ceiling!
This was a beautiful place to see a show. I went to see Dirty Dancing with my family and all five of us had a great time. I gave this four stars instead of five because the parking can be a real pain, but it was well worth it. I also saw Wicked here the year before and it was also wonderful.
Absolutely gorgeous, a splendid venue for a special night out. The only issue was the womens restroom had a line around the balcony, and they gave no warning when intermission was going to end; my wife had to rush back and missed the first couple of minutes. At least flash some lights or something!
We went to see Weird All Yankovic (it was great). Here are some points.- Even with the big crowd it was easy to go around.- The toilets on the first floor are small (3 out of 4 were working), but there is some bigger bathrooms in the basement of the building.- Bring water and something to use as a fan (like a piece of paper), because since the building is old, there is no AC or very little.- The building is gorgeous, you should definitely take the time to explore a bit, it really is something.- We were able to park for free by parking 5 minutes away from the theater
Ive only been there once and my only complaint is that I didnt see any snacks. Probably not the kind of place to have snacks but I was there for 3 hours ago snacks wouldve been nice. The temperature was comfortable also. Usually big rooms with that many people get warm and stuffy but they had the air on thankfully. The picture was from about 1/3 of the way back from the stage so there were more people behind me than in front of.
Ive been here for many shows and normally sit closer to the orchestra, but did not have the opportunity with the last show that we saw last night. it was a great show and I always get some nostalgia when I go and visit the landmark theater. The seats are just so tiny they end up being very uncomfortable. But, I cannot complain because I really do love Syracuse and the old buildings they have. It is very intricate and the details of all the paintings and wall scrolls are gorgeous. Also the wait to get beer or even water is completely insane.. the water fountains dont work.
As a Syracuse native and a fan of live music I have been to the Landmark dozens of times. Everything from heavy metal to stage shows have graced the stage and pulled me in for a nights entertainment. Now, my three star review doesnt reflect my love for this venue! There really isnt a better spot to see a show in Syracuse but recently it seems as though maintenance on this beautiful old building is falling behind. Granted, keeping up with all of the repairs that are inherent with a nearly 100 year old theater can be a daunting and expensive task, Im sure, but is something that really should be more of a priority. Even the marquee is in disrepair. Finally, in the era of craft beer, and a burgeoning number of breweries in and around Syracuse, its sad to see that they have a very limited beer selection at shows. This had started getting better for a while but when we went to see Weird Al a couple weeks ago their beer selection was in a sad state for sure. The only local craft they had on tap was from empire brewery and thats not really considered to be craft beer by enthusiasts. The Landmark should easily be a 5 star establishment but, unfortunately, it is falling short. Its my sincerest hope that I am forced to amend this review with one that fully praises this Syracuse staple
Gorgeous looking theatre, you can spend hours looking at all the details from the decor to the beautiful walls and architecture. Seating is decently comfortable with just one issue of not enough angle with the seats. If someone that is even an inch taller than you sits in front of you, you wont be able to see the show. My wife couldnt see an entire show because 3 males sat in front of her. It really ruined her experience.
Absolutely beautiful. But a terrible place to see a show. The seats are mini torture chambers and because of the lack of bathrooms, people are constantly coming in after the intermission. Pretty disruptive for a professional theater show. Also if you park anywhere near the theater, expect people to knock on your car window while your still trying to park and all for a handout.
Went to see Harry Potter in Concert. Was a very historic theater. Sat in the Orchestra level (row K) and the seats had plenty of leg room. That row is the start of the incline, so if you have tall people sitting in front, or are short (children), it can be tough to see.The orchestra was wonderful and the sound was great. The movie was a little bit dim due to the lights for the orchestra, however after the first few minutes you forgot about it. Also, please note that they had closed captioning on the entire movie.Overall, it was a great experience, especially for a historic building! Not nearly as comfortable or AV quality as a Movie Tavern, but that isnt why you would go to this show. They served beer, wine, popcorn and candy. No butterbeer or other Harry Potter candy though!
Beautiful vintage theater that has a lot of character. We saw the Cirque Wonderland show. It was nice but nothing special... Most disappointed by the poor job done by the audio and lighting techs throughout the performance. Audio kept cutting out for main singer and lighting guys couldnt follow the main actors and performers . Pretty sad for such a big show.Id love to see a different show here that would do the theater justice.
This is a beautiful old theater that has had restorations done. The acoustics are great. However although recovered the seats they ate VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. Every time I see something there I leave with a back ache. For the ladies hey will check your purse when you enter. Also there is a second larger bathroom in the basement. The one on the ground floor only has 4 stalls.
We visited the Landmark Theater to see Book of Mormon. This historic facility is a great venue to see Theatrical Productions as well as live music events. Great acoustics .This theater was built in the golden age of cinema. Glorious, ornate architecture. Fun to explore all of its nooks. We greatly enjoyed Book of Mormon as well very irreverent and probably the funniest musical I have been to.
This venue has the smallest seats ever. Im 6 and had to get an aisle seat and sit sideways. I wouldnt call this place ADA compliant. Sound is pretty good here, but they only get maybe one interesting act a year, and theyre on par with the acts that other cities book for free outdoor summer concerts. Concessions are too pricey for Syracuse, and they might be keeping the climate control a bit on the hot side to get people to shell out three times the cost of a coke. Id rather make the trip to another city to see a touring act than see a show here.
Was processed quickly at the door. We had heard that if you took photos of the tickets they could scan them through your phone you must make sure to only photo one ticket at a time for the scan to work. The theater is ornately decorated. Its showing signs of needing further restoration but has wonderful acoustics as we were seated almost in the last row (nn) far left and had an excellent view of the stage and could hear everything and see everything. Toilets were located in the lobby but also downstairs under the theater. Parking was located about a block South and was $10.
Such a beautiful theater. We went to a company party here and it was so nice and so interesting to see. They have an amazing murals on the walls and they recently have been remodeling so its starting to look even nicer. I will be coming back to see one of their shows!
Disappointed with the condition of such a Landmark. Kind of sad to see peeling paint and such. Bathroom situation was awful. Poorly organized for obtaining a beer before the show. Quite chaotic overall. Definitely plan to arrive early and pay $15 to park in the garage if you cant find a spot on the street. Not in a hurry to see a show there anytime soon.
We saw an excellent performance of Les Miserable. The theater is beautiful but we had seats in the balcony. I have never been to a theater with such narrow cramped seating. You could not move it was so tight and sight lines were not good. We will be back but get orchestra seating next time.
This is a Beautiful Theatre for Plays, Movies and Concerts. The interior is absolutely incredible Gorgeous and and extremely maintained. With Gold Chandeliers with Gold Leaf Paint has a High Class feeling, like in Las Vegas. Very old but always keep with Renovations to modern Lightning and Sound. There is not a “Bad” Seat in the Landmark Theatre. With a Balcony the upper level is just great with a wonderful view. Downside is Street side Parking with a Parking Garage close by. When Concert Tickets go on Sale, they sell quickly too. Smaller than the War Memorial a couple of blocks way but far classier Venues in Syracuse New York. Highly recommend this Theatre, you want be dissatisfied and the have Bar for Wine and Beer.
This is a stunning theater! You can spend hours looking at all the fixtures, ceiling and walls.Great drink and snack selection. Bring cash to hit up the upstairs side bar.Be forewarned, if you are a taller person prepare to be uncomfortable. Im 57 and I was uncomfortable.

2022-05-29This is a beautiful theater with old world charm and modern day comfort and technology. The original architectural style and design are fully restored but there are modern light, sound systems, refreshment stands, and bathrooms. The seating areas are more narrow than what we are typically used to and is the old style stadium seating style. Nevertheless, this is climate controlled and modern theater experience.

2022-03-30Great theater, extremely friendly staff which added to the experience! The entire place, as you can see, is decorated with lavish and artful adornments. It can be a little packed during a crowded show like Hamilton, but the staff again handled everyone well. Drinks were not too high priced.Would definitely visit again!

2022-03-21Landmark Theatre has been long-time venue for musical acts as well as other performances. The threatre has aged over the years however the styling is very ornate in a classical style. It has been a couple years since visiting and we were excited to see the new marquee outside, as we went during the current Hamilton run. I feel it is important to support these venues to keep them relevant and bringing in good shows and entertainment. All in all it was a great night out, and Id love to see the theater continue restoring the facility.

2021-11-23Beautiful theatre. Went there for a event and the ability to preserve such a historical landmark is awesome. Everywhere you look there is something new to see. Defiantly worth the trip to visit! Only issue worth mentioning is that Syracuse as a city is not too good where the hotel is located. I’ve walked around the city of Buffalo and Rochester and have never been confronted by as many people asking for money as I had been outside of this hotel. Do not walk here from nearby hotels alone or in a small group.Event photographed: NY Brewers Association Craft Beer Festival.

2022-02-27This place is definitely showing its age even after all of the renovations, but the place has great sound and lighting for the shows that are performed there. The building is magnificent, the area that it is in, not so much. Parking downtown is always difficult. We saw Blue Man Group here recently, and many other shows in the past.

2021-11-15Nice venue! The entire theatre staff from ticket staff to bartenders to security were all very pleasant to deal with. Very ornate theatre worth walking around for a couple minutes before a show. Acoustics were decent.

2022-04-04Bob Weir and the Wolf Bros featuring The Wolfpack provided a beautiful evening of music worthy of the setting the Landmark provides. We had vision of the stage and a truly enjoyable listening experience.

2022-03-16Great restoration! Now real shows can be hosted here. The bus over the beauty of the interior is very well deserved! A real treat to be back.

2022-03-13The Landmark Theatre is a gem in the middle of Syracuse NY. I wish I was able to take more photos and maybe in the near future will have another chance to explore this beautiful venue. Definitely check out a show and admire the wonderful artwork and architecture.
