Favorite restaurant in Plattsburgh.Nice place for work dinners, family occasions or a nice date, everything atmosphere!!!Great drinks, amazing specials. No meal goes unfinished. My goto’s are:- Nachos with steak- Calamari- Ribeye- Salmon (pictured here)- any seafood specialEvery once and a while they have Dry aged steak special and it is the bomb bomb. Get it and thank me later.Chefs are the greatest in Plattsburgh and so is the owner!!!!!
Today was my first (of many more to come) time eating at Lattitude 44 Bistro. My server Maddie was so nice, friendly and attentive. The chef was very accommodating to my dietary needs, he even offered suggestions. My beef was cooked perfectly, so tender and tasty the green beans firm and perfect (I had seonds)l love the open kitchen design. It is a little out of the way but definitely worth the trip.
Absolutely fantastic presentation on the food that I had ordered. The Prince Edward Island mussels were absolutely outstanding the wine selection is high-end the salad was fresh the truffle salad dressing that I had ordered was phenomenal the fish tacos with great. Can’t wait to return!!!!!
What a great restaurant!! Kayla wa sour server and was amazing!! She had great recommendations and great service!! The crab cakes were one of the best I’ve ever had! Not expected for the area we were pleasantly pleased!! If your in the area it’s worth a stop! The French onion soup was amazing!
I don’t often walk out of a restaurant without getting food but here we are. Waited over half an hour for our drink order (two lemonades). While we waited, we watched two waitresses and the bartender gossip behind the bar while we were clearly ready to order and waiting for some time at that point. We shouldn’t have to shout across the room to get our waitress to come take our order and bring our drinks when they have enough time to chat. We were the second table seated in the entire place at our time of arrival and the third when we paid for our drinks and walked out. All the while, as it’s an open kitchen, the cooks put up two burgers and don’t say a word, just walk away and let them sit under a heat lamp for about 15-20 mins. The waitstaff didn’t make any attempt to serve the food, and the cooks didn’t make any effort to let them know the order was up. So disappointed, this place is clearly overrated... and the online menu that boasts “surf and turf” is not accurate, to say the least.
This place is so awesome! Lets start with the most important part. The staff! You thought i was going to say Food? Well that too of course. Serious good food brought to you by some of the best staff your going to find. They took care of my familys special function and they totally nailed it. The chef puts together really good food with flavors that keep your taste buds working. You could try some where else in town, but here you know you get good food paired with an great wine and beer selection. And not a run of the mill house wine or a Budweiser. But thought out selections of both to again challenge your taste buds.
Nice menu. Food prepared with attention to detail. Steamed mussels and calamari appetizers were first class. Stuffed sole and swordfish were just shy of outstanding. Nice selection of regional beers on tap. Excellent service. 86 year old whose birthday we were celebrating received flourless chocolate torte slice @ n/c. Nice.
Had a great dinner at Latitude 44 tonight. Place was packed, so we had to sit at the chefs bar, and it was the best place in the house. Got great insight by the chefs on what to order and the food was fantastic! Had the bison strip and ended up licking the plate at the end...The chefs were great! The menu does not do the food justice - it is much better than it sounds written down. That said, our server was MIA and it appeared most servers were completely aloof. Be warned that service may be bad. But still 5 stars and worth the visit!
Without question, the best quality dining you will find in Plattsburgh. I used to be a fan of Anthonys, but in recent years their quality has gone down to the point I have stopped going. Latitude serves consistently high quality food at a reasonable price...better quality than Anthonys, and at a lower price. I love the atmosphere and the service is outstanding. Ive never had anything less than an excellent meal and Ive probably eaten here at least 50 times. Consistent, top quality dining.
Sat at the counter overlooking the kitchen. It was fun watching the magic happen. Everything looked beautiful. We had the calamari with chipotle aioli and shared a flat bread margarita pizza. Both were excellent. I would go 5 stars, but we felt a little invisible to our server. The service was okay and she was very sweet, but it seemed like too long to get our order taken and too long to get the check. On the other hand, the food and drinks came out quickly once our order was taken. So lets call it 4 1/2 stars.
Always an excellent choice for dinner in Plattsburgh. I love the Chicken and Chorizo sandwich, however I have never had a bad meal here. Always a good selection of specials. Very good drinks at the bar and good selection of beer. Wait staff is always friendly and helpful. Be aware that they do not take reservations and will not seat your party until everyone is present, this is for the benefit of all customers and not to inconvenience you, as they are always willing to provide a place to sit for those who arent able to stand! I eat here fairly regularly and would recommend to anyone.
The atmosphere here exhibits one of higher end, relative to any restaurant in Plattsburgh. Along with the excellent service delivered by exceptionally friendly staff, everything consumed was above par. From the arugala salad to the brownie dessert and three great entrees, I have nothing but positive remarks from this dining experience.
The most unethical and prejudice restaurant I have been to in Plattsburgh. First of all the same middle age/ older white people faithfully support this business so that is their demographic. If you are not apart of that small subgroup prepare to be typed casted or judged by the way you look. A group of friends and I came to eat at this place 3 of us African American and the other Caucasian. We received the slowest service and were stared at by the “manager” and other workers from the bar. When one of my friends tried to address the staring she was given a very passive aggressive RUDE respond by the “manager”. After addressing this issue it still continued so as me and my friends began to feel more and more uncomfortable we cancelled our entree’s after eating our appetizers and asked to speak to the owner. The owner was not helpful at all he gave us these empty apologies did not even try to correct the situation. He was mostly worried about the food we just ordered that we weren’t eating or paying for. Long story short LATTITUDE 44 is UNPROFESSIONAL, UNETHICAL & PREJUDICE. Don’t eat there if you don’t fit the subgroup I mentioned earlier.
One of the better places to eat in Plattsburgh. The service is friendly and knowledgeable about the menu yet service timing was a little off. We were fortunate to get a table right away on a Friday night. The two parties behind us waited 45 minutes before a table opened. To Latitudes advantage the bar is available and the drinks are not bad. After perusing the menu for a solid ten minutes we were finally greated by our server. Took our dink order and went over the daily special menu. From that moment on the bar staff and Chef Allen and his team put or experience on cruise control. The food was seasoned well, perfect portions, and priced to meet the expectations of the locals. Entrees starting at $10 to $30 with lighter fare and sandwiches avaible as well. A well balanced menu allows the chef to make good ingredient decisions that allow his style to come out in every dish. My adventure for the night was a maple bourbon old fashion, a soup of cheese and fingerlings potato, my entree the frutti d mare, and french press coffee with bread pudding. I have always enjoyed what Chef Allen does at every establishment he has had the reigns. For this establishment to be the best in Plattsburgh the service needs to be more attentive. I only ordered a cocktail for a beverage. My water was empty by my entree and it was never refilled. Server seemed to bus as well. The time from when the bill was presented to the time we were able to leave was about 20 minutes. Again servers were bussing tables to seat the two previously mentioned parties. In the end the drinks are ok, the food is great for Plattsburgh, and the service needs some work. Worth the adventure.
Very poor dinner for the money. Mussels sent back, either spoiled or just bad. Chicken pasta very bland and underwhelming, chicken and bacon flatbread dry and average. My wife liked her salad, but chicken on it was just ok also- overall just way overpriced and not at all worth it. Try Twisted carrot in plattsburgh, or LivinGoods. Both way better options.
Unless you want soup, do not order the beef tips with wine cream sauce. The sauce was delicious but the beef was sparse and tough. No vegetables and Lat. does not serve bread with entrees. Overpriced for a few pieces of beef over soupy mashed potatoes . Service was good.
Not sure how they pull this off. Probably the hippest place in town but the owner / chef Dave and his staff makes you feel like a local! Food is creative, wine list, and mixologist get it and the atmosphere Has got a great energy. Come early as we go to bed by 10 pm in the north country!
By far my favorite restaurant in Plattsburgh. I always recommend the speciality flatbreads as they change frequently and are always delicious. The bacon wrapped scallops with the raspberry puree are indescribably wonderful. Ive never come here and left feeling less than full and reminiscing of the delectable food I just consumed.
Very tight seating and on weekends, reservations suggested. Bistro cuisine with amazing flavours. Smoked Gouda mac & cheese near divine. A mahi mahi with papaya glacé that crunched and caramelled the tongue. David Allen, the chef, deserves praise for both his excellent cuisine and perseverance in bringing haute cuisine to the North Country at a price, but worth it! Servers are knowledgeable and attentive, but again, summer rush may make this small bistro/cafe more well-known as it deserves.
The menu here seems imaginative and appealing. The food is attractively presented. Unfortunately, the atmosphere at Latitude 44 is not really conducive to leisurely enjoyment of the entrees. The restaurant caters to primarily Gen X’ers. These diners conduct constant conversations on their cel phones and often engage im conference calls using the speaker-phone function of their devices. What with everyone trying to be heard, the overall volume quickly becomes a distraction. I would say that for the linked-in, social network set; Latitude 44 Bistro is probably great. If, however, a quiet business lunch or a romantic dinner is the occasion, you might want to reconsider.
Met friends for cocktails, appetizers acme dinner. Ambiance was great like usual, prompt and friendly service, excellent attention. Food was excellent and serve was helpful with suggestions. The experience was not rushed and very comfortable for a night out with friends.
Perfect experience! Great service (thanks to Michelle :). Food was just incredible. We tasted the most amazing sweet potatoes fries and then we had the filet au poivre that just blew our minds. We didnt expect such quality during this little trip in the US, we will definitly go back!........A place to discover absolutely, you will not be disappointed !! So attentive service and we were pleasantly surprised to find this quality food during a little improvised getaway. Our must in Plattsburg!

2021-11-16We were the first ones to arrive on a Saturday night. The atmosphere was nice and felt like a bistro. The service was a little underwhelming. Had to ask for utensils for our main course and drinks were slow. The food was decent but some of the dishes could use a little more thought put into them. The deep fried meatballs, while mostly tasted good, were a little too salty and hard to eat because the sausage got really dense when deep fried. The outer crust was really hard to cut into and when trying to stab it with a fork, the meatball would go flying. The fried spaghetti was a good thought, but was really really hard to eat because the noodles got really chewy. Also, not sure whos idea it was to put balsamic vinegar on the plate under the cast iron where it cannot be enjoyed. Kind of a faux pas to do that to balsamic vinegar. The apple crumble cheesecake shouldnt have been called a crumble when there was no crumble to be found. There was an apple sauce on the cheesecake though. Same with the Rum cake. A rum cake is soaked in a rum sauce so that it is fully saturated. The rum cake was only partly wet on the outside and dry on the inside.Drinks were really good though.

2022-04-18I wish they had vegan options on the menu, but the waiter and chef were both really nice about accommodating me. The chef was able to put something together and it was delicious, so I still absolutely recommend.

2022-06-24Hmm.. let’s see. We had a group of 9. We ordered our drinks first thing and it took 15 minutes for us to even get them. After that we had ordered our food. It took an hour and half to get our food. We ordered a seafood dish which cost $28. We only received 1 scallop, no clams were in our dish and half of our mussels weren’t even opened yet. Very disappointed especially when I had informed the waitress about it she was extremely rude. The bison meal was absolutely disgusting because it was covered in a basil paste that overloaded the plate. Totally not worth your money! The waitress didn’t even offer a certain percentage off our meal. Definitely will not recommend this place or even try to come back!

2020-07-09Definitely one of the best places in town. Delicious food from a modern yet upscale menu, full bar with great service. Fantastic meals in a lovely setting. Fruits de mer (my favorite) was not on the menu today so I went with a close alternative, and new favorite dinner. Hubby went with the bison sirloin, we ate every last bite of our meals (after splitting the duck wings for an appetizer) and finished things off with dessert. I had been a couple times but the hubby had not, it is now our new favorite spot, and where we will be celebrating our special occasions... tonight was my birthday, so thank you to Latitude 44 for making it an extra special evening.

2022-06-14This past Friday night I ordered two of the salmon Via DoorDash for delivery. The two Salmon filet dinners I ordered as soon as I started cutting into them as well as my friend, we realized they were raw in the middle. Only about a quarter of both of the fillets were cooked. I called Latitude 44 and told the person that answered the phone about it. She offered to get me two fresh ones but I told her it was already too late. She said the manager would call me about this issue I never received a call. Disappointed and discouraged I may have to rethink going to this restaurant again or even ordering via DoorDash. For the price of $67. 95 for these dinners, that is terrible.Never received a call, I am guessing the management doesn’t care.

2020-12-19Treat yourself and that special someone to dinner at Latitude 44. The food is exquisite. Beef Wellington was cooked to perfection. The flatbread pizza was fantastic... smoked salmon, sliced tomato, feta cheese. The peanut butter ball made with real peanut butter. Lastly spiked eggnog with nutella sandwiched between 2 chocolate chip cookies. Latitude 44 bistro is really nice and cozy restaurant. I believe it’s the modern decor with earth tone colors and soft lighting.

2022-03-18I ordered Seafood pasta today and I have to it was the worst I have ever had. I paid $28 and there was a corkscrew pasta with two shrimps, one scallop, and four mussels that were not even opened. There was no sauce except few mashed tomatoes. Will never order again from this place.
