They sent a guy to check on our boiler transformer’s power. all he did was CHECK if there was power on the box. that’s it. for that, he charged us $375 claiming that’s the service fee. he claimed that the service fee begins from the second we call them & they start driving to our house. when we called the owner, he wasn’t even answer any questions that we asked and then he BLOCKED us. so we drove to the location on their “receipt.” the location is a pest control store and the owner isn’t even there. he’s in Florida. he sends random men down to fix stuff that don’t even know what they’re doing. so i called him again and he claims “my worker did do actual work. your father just didn’t see him. and gas costs money, my truck costs money.” first of all, my father was WATCHING him the whole time. plus, the receipt he gave literally said “checked for power in transformer box”. which means that’s all he did. and why are we responsible for paying for their gas? they’re an electric company. plus, you’re telling me gas is $375???? we’re not clueless. he gave a whole lot of attitude on the phone, saying “you have 1 minute left to speak and then i’m hanging up”. this business is a SCAM. THEYRE SCAMMERS. DONT EVER CALL THEM.

The house is old and the lug was hard to find but the owners of Laurelton Electric helped us locate a new lug for the panel. Instead of charging us $2,400 for a new panel we paid $100 for the lug and they installed it for $125. These are great people who wont rip you off. Highly recommend this company.

The light fixture I was having trouble with turned out to not only have burned out bulbs, but also burned out wiring. Not only did they spend a significant amount of timing fixing the wiring, but they ran out to a local hardware store to buy replacement light bulbs - and refused to let me pay for them... and halogen light buls arent exactly cheap. I would recommend them without hesitation!

Totally unprofessional and not clear with estimates, billing, service calls, and especially the final Department of Building inspections. Laurelton Electric aka America on Call was hired to install a Generac generator. Essentially they left the job not completed, yet collected all fees. Was extremely elusive with multiple calls and emails to get the job finished. If they werent already removed as a certified Generac installer, I would have told Generac of their incompetence and lobbied for their removal. Faulty installation included a gas leak that I had to call MULTIPLE times to get fixed. This is a front company where the owner Michael Scheffler doesnt even have a storefront in the area. He operates out of Florida with a mailing address only in Queens. BE VERY CAREFUL WITH THIS COMPANY. YOU ARE BETTER OFF GETTING A LOCAL, REPUTABLE COMPANY FOR ANY AND ALL ELECTRICAL WORK. I only gave one star because you cant post without selecting SOMETHING. Otherwise it would have received ZERO stars.

Horrible, horrible, horrible!!! The company sent in two technicians who didnt know what to do and admitted to it; went supply shopping twice and charged me double the price for said supplies (and the time they spent going shopping although I told what the problem was while making an appointment); the companys representative Michael B. Scheffler used quite a few choice words to express his feelings toward me, then hang up, without bothering to wait for a reply. I was charged excessive price of $1,228.22 for the service, or lack thereof, as I had to print out directions from the manual for the technicians and get involved myself in the generator fix-up. Technicians spent 2 hrs 15 minutes, inclusive of the supplies shopping and I was charged for 3 hours for two technicians, one being Mechanic and anotherJunior Mechanic at the rate of $129 and $89 respectively, even though I never asked to pay for a trainee. Anyway, it looked like blind leading the blind. Very disappointing and I will never use companys services ever again.

Against my better judgment I went with this company despite minimal online reviews since they were referred by Generac. I hope this review saves people of a lot of brain damage and wasted time. I was quoted 6-8 weeks for the install with NYC permitting etc. which was fine but it ended up taking a year to get the job completed and signed off on. That included following up with ConEd and Dept of Buildings myself and going down there in person. Dont expect any project management at all. According to the plumber, Laurelton Electric dba as Mr. Generator still owes him $1,200 from my job when I have paid Laurelton over $22k already. He has tried to add in permit fees later (included in the contract) and tried to tack on NY sales taxes which is exempt on Capital Improvements. Google TSB-A-06(18)S for the NYS tax opinion on the exempt status of Standby Generators. He also tried to bill me for 90 ft of installed pipe when 58.5 as installed, thats a pretty high waste%.If you do decide to go ahead with a project with Laurelton, make sure your payments never get ahead of the progress. I made the initial deposit on 9/17/15 and he didnt even order the generator until the end of Nov. and he got it from electric generators direct and not Generac so hes not even a real dealer, just an installer. Had 10 missed appointments and 4 days where they arrived late or left early without finishing the task of the day. He didnt even request the permit sign off until May the following year. My family and I had to deal with a massive trench in the backyard and keeping it dry and covered all winter. It took so long it even delayed the patio work we had planned for the spring. So, if you value your time, money and sanity, I would personally look elsewhere.
