Just visited with a group of 12 for a friends birthday. We were seated at our reservation time. Didnt get bread until 55 minutes later after I had to speak to the manager. And our group received all our meals 1.25 hrs after we sat. At that point everyone was so hangry. Pasta was bland, chicken was dry. Large portion sizes though. Food was average for what they charged. Nothing special. Do not recommend or going back.
The foood .. omg.. did i mention the food. I had an amazing time here. Lets start with the ambience , bright and shiny, white covered tops and very clean. The happy hour 3 course meal was amazing. The pastas and desert are one of a kind. Definitely a place ill recommend and be back too.
DO NOT GO HERE. My sister and I went to LAVO as I have been to events at the Vegas LAVO and had a great time. We had just come from a show and were hoping to go dance a little. While in the line to get in we were informed by a promoter that there were tables that we could sit at so long as we purchased a bottle for $650 dollars. Having an already iconic night we figured why not? If we split it, its only $325 a person and we were promised a VIP experience. When we get to the door we are informed that there are no tables available but we could sit nearby, and at the bar if we wanted to. This is AFTER they had physically taken my ID and my credit card (it also changed hands THREE times before I got it back...). When we get to the bar, there is NO WHERE to sit and I was literally STARING at empty tables the entire time we were there. I am presuming because we werent 21 and 120 pounds they did not want us there considering we were treated like garbage as soon as we walked through the door and vastly misled by staff.Fast forward we get our bottle that is advertised at $675 on the menu - not the $650 as we were promised. The bartender made me sign the receipt without giving me my own copy which I had to ask for. Once I asked the bartender for the copy, he went to the manager and asked if IT WAS OKAY IF HE GAVE ME A COPY!!! This is when I knew something shady was going on...I ended up being charged $973.90 for a $675 dollar bottle, some soda water and ice... which I only found out AFTER THE FACT that I paid. The bottle was listed at $675 on the receipt (fine, we knew this), then we got charged a $67.50 admin fee (were not made aware of), $121.50 of gratuity (which we were not made aware of), and an ADDITIONAL $165.50 of gratuity (which we were not made aware of). This was not a written in TIP these were charged to my card without my knowledge previous to them providing me with a receipt which I asked for...If I had received the full VIP experience these fees may have been warranted but we didnt even have the bartenders attention, a place to sit, or ANYTHING of note. Once again, do NOT go here, it is a pure scam and all entertainers associated with this place should be ashamed.
My experience at Lavo Resturant was very sub par. The appetizers were good and the drinks were okay. The main dishes were terrible. How do you mess up chicken parmigiana it’s the easiest thing. The server was nice but she was so busy she could not provide the proper service to our table. The busser when cleaning the table would bump into you or reach over you while your easting and just grab things. Ordered there 20 layer cake and when it came they bring it with no plates or spoons or forks. Service is really bad and what makes it worse is your paying on the high end. So my experience is that there is so many other better places then this. It’s all hype because of the name do your self a favor and don’t waste your time
The food is really good but the waiters and waitresses are very rude and impolite. One of them took my plate away when I hadn’t even finished my food. My fork was still in my hand so the waiter took it too saying that “dessert was in the way”. Later, I asked for an glass of tap water and I was told it was too late (there was still 1 more hour until the closing time). Also, if you order a glass of wine, you’ll receive a ridiculous small portion.
Delivery is a complete RIP OFF! I will never order from Lavo again and am not encouraged to eat in person. I ordered a Caesar salad with chicken and it came with three croutons and four shavings for Parmesan cheese. In case you missed that - 3 croutons and 4 shavings of Parmesan cheese - makes a Caesar salad for Lavo. What a joke. If I hadnt added the chicken, it would have been a dinner of Romaine lettuce. By the time Grub Hub takes its fee and you tip the delivery guy, its $36 for a bunch of Romaine, 3 croutons, 4 shaving of Parmesan, and a quarter of a breast of chicken. Buyer beware!
Came in for dinner during restaurant week and had really good food. For the appetizer I had the Cesar Salad which was very crunchy and tasted very fresh, for my main course I chose the Penne alla Vodka which was also delicious, the pasta was cooked to perfection, the sauce was creamy and tasty, to end i had the cheesecake which wasnt mind blowing but it was okay. My partner in crime had the Pappardelle Toscana and the Fruit plate which were good as well.
Let me say that Lavo is a must while in New York. When you are dining at this level, this is as good as it gets. All hammers are hitting the right notes like a symphony.Starting with the complimentary appetizers. Dont get me wrong this was an expensive meal. The bread in the foil was heated and properly buttered and seasoned. The marinara was excellent. The olives had an oil and Parmesan dressing. The hummus was fresh the pickled cauliflower was excellent. We started off with the eggplant Parmesan. Off the chart. We had the chicken Parmesan as the entree. Thinly pressed out, with a light breading. Perfectly seasoned with a garlicky background. The cheese was a thin layer melted with a wonderful light cheesy flavor. The tiramisu was heavenly, with real lady fingers for a garnish.
The food at Lavo is amazing. We had steak, oysters, and branzino. All of which were great. The service was good and our waiter was friendly. The restaurant is really busy almost all the time so expect a bit of a wait get seated. You get admission to the club next door of you have dinner at the restaurant. The reason that Lavo doesnt get five stars is because there are a lot of birthday announcements. There were seven or eight interruptions for birthdays which diluted the quality of the dining experience.
An expensive restaurant worth every penny! 💰 The food here is delicious! The margaritas 🍹here are some of the best in town! I drink only margaritas and Lavos are amazing. The 20 layer chocolate/ peanut butter cake🎂🍫 is amazing and delicious. The spaghetti marinera 🍝with basil was finely done right. Large chunks of tomatos🍅. So delicious! The appetizer selection was nice. Delicious parmesan cheese that was not too salty. Pickled vegetables that werent too sour! The oysters were amall but tazty!
You know, even during a pandemic, it is nice to go to a boisterous restaurant for a great meal. The place is pretty large and the tables are well-spaced. It was lively and people were enjoying themselves. And the food is great! The meatball is worth it, yall! And the arancini donuts with tomato fondue...Go, mangia, enjoy!
We found this restaurant as we were walking by. We are so glad we did!!! The service and our meals were excellent. The chicken parmigiana was the best I have ever had. All our meals were prepared perfectly and Leo our server was outstanding. Extremely pleasant and professional. We also greatly appreciated that they actually checked vaccination cards and verified them with your ID. We would definitely visit again next time we are in New York.
Never celebrate New Year’s Eve or any kind of event in this restaurant. We had the worst experience ever. We went there for New Year’s Eve and for everything the wait time was extremely long, which is understandable due to it being New Year’s Eve. However at the end of the night to have to wait more than 1 hour to get the check when almost everyone had left, and everyone else was getting their checks, it’s the perfect way to ruin our night. To TOP THAT OFF, the next day when I looked over the receipt, there was an unexplained additional cHarge of $157 on our bill. After calling multiple times with no answer I was finally able to get in touch with a manager and get my money back. DO NOT GO HERE!
This an ok however a has been spot.New York has a lot better to offer. This place is surfing on its past glory. The service is rehearsed smiles and plenty of “how is everybody doing” however falls short on actually paying attention.Taste wise the food was ok however the truffle gnocchis were tatsteless (i guess in August they shouldn’t be offering that)While the salad was ok it was missing the apples not a biggie however another inattentive point among others. The flatbread is again ok while pappardelle was very good as well as the ny strip. The aggressive wine pour is another put off.
We love Lavo and always do celebrate our birthdays there , but this year it was very bad! The food was ok but the DJ was awful, we didn’t feel that atmosphere that we were looking for , and when we asked DJ to play something different than Hip Hop he was just ignoring us, unfortunately this Saturday we had unpleasant experience and won’t be back until DJ plays better music. We loved going to Lavo because of the international music played , this time from 8pm- till closing DJ was playing same style music. Hope you will take this under consideration. Very disappointing and no one was dancing from most of the tables.
So disappointed. I get the Covid issues with restaurants- still, no reason to speed order your food, pile all courses on the table. Offer no coffee - or tea and claim hot water is an issue and basically flash the lights to shove everyone out of the restaurant. And food was mediocre…. Awful treatment of patrons. Get back to what LAVO NYC. once was
The place is Good! Just only one comment about the place they just need a real model bar attender to be a Good picture for lavo (big brand name ) ! Must management hire nice pretty girl must be great on customer service to keep growing up with high profile customers ! Otherwise the place will be local and only target young ppl !
Excellent meal. Service, food, cleanliness, I have no complaints. Even our young children were made to feel welcome and cared for. We got the four cheese pizza thinking our kids would like it but it had crushed red pepper on it so we got to eat it and they were content with the charcuterie board appetizer and bread options. The beet salad was also excellent. Id go back for sure.
Great place! Awesome Sunday party. Came here with friends for my husbands Belated Birthday celebration. Brian, the manager, took great care of us. Customer Service is everything. Plus the food and drinks were great! Tuna tartare and Oreos are a must! Love u Lavo. Will definitely be back!
Loved the decor and vibe of the place but I guess it was one of those nights where the staff was so busy that they had me waiting over 45 minutes for food. I had to ask the manager twice to check up on the food as my server was no help in providing an update. Ill have to give this place another shot to change my rating.
If I could leave -1000 I would. The staff was rude and lost my jacket. Payed a 100$ to get in to be threatened if I leave and to lose my 1000$ jacket. Not worth coming to. Please never go to Lavo not worth the price vide was terrible, staff was horrible disrespect to women specifically. I really hope they don’t restrict my review
My friends and I made a reservation at a restaurant across the street. We are a big party (13) and we all arrived on time - only to be told that they “will try our best” to sit us soon. We were then told that LAVO are willing to sit us right away with complementary desserts c/o of the manager. And so of course, we had to listen to our hungry stomachs and agree to their offer! We all had a great time, the food was good, and the desserts were amazing (way more than we expected!). 👍🏼
This place is too good. Top notch. A little expensive but its midtown so totally justified. Dine in or pickup or delivery. Good that they have all these options. Their pastas are out of the world. Perfect portion size. Also bread and sauce is complimentary. Can’t beat that. I definitely recommend this place. Try it out and you won’t be disappointed.
Cool vibe, we went for a late dinner, thinking having a nice dinner gets you walked into the club once youre done... Not the case... The crowd outside trying to get into the club looked like a mob 😂 so we went somewhere else after. Our dinner was good, we had the charred octopus which I loved and would recommend. We also had a fillet and the yummiest bearnaise. The branzino was the only Meh... Fragolita is a great cocktail with strawberry, would also recommend. Id go back.
So the food is spectacular, it really is. Everything stands out. The calamari, the clams, the chicken parm, the fish specialties, amazing. Service was excellent just after returning to full indoor service. Great location in Manhattan. Awesome wine list with NYC prices but hey, what ya gonna do eh? Go here, make merry, enjoy, its worth it.
Lavo the restaurant is fantastic, the food is great, the service is not 100% it is busy, and its mainly a tourist trap in reality. The club is small alot of people online you will feel squished. The place it self in the club the staff are on top of their game in terms of security. They make sure everyone has a ticket and double check when your inside. 90% of the club are guests of promoters meaning they are freebies they leach on tables and bottles. The less then 10% that pay big bucks are squished. So honestly their are so many other restaurants and clubs in the city that are less expensive and better. In terms of club their are many others I could recommend that are larger and funner.Lavo the club is not bad its fun but its small and overrated .
Went for drinks. Order Angels Envy bourbon on the rocks 3 times. The 1st drink was Angels Envy bourbon, the 2nd was Angels Envy rye and the 3rd was some scotch.... meatball is still amazing after all of these years and pizza with cute meat was awesome. Still has a club like atmosphere with loud music not the place to go if you are looking to converse with your party.
Worst bottle service experience of my life. I reserved a table and they made me pay in advance. When I got there I wasnt allowed in because I was wearing shorts (it was over 95 degrees outside). After changing and coming back, I was told that they need my card to let me sit down. After spending the night waiting for over an hour to have my bottles delivered, I found that they charged my card a second time (I already pre-paid). I was told at the time that this was going to be refunded, but it was not. After disputing the charge, I have still not gotten my money back. Overall, this felt like a bit of a scam. I will never be going back to anything Tao Group after this experience.
Great dinner this last Saturday evening. Tables on sidewalk well spaced for Covid. Menu via QR code. Service and food were amazing. Delicious focaccia bread with olives and marina were brought out while we waited for our first course. Food and service were both fantastic! We came upon this restaurant by accident, but will definitely be returning and making it one of our go to restaurants!
Very good experience. Enjoyed a night out with the family to celebrate a birthday for a close relative. Atmosphere is great, very cool vibe. The food is a little pricey but it is definitely worth every penny. Oh, and the waiter Gary is awesome. Very friendly and cool staff. Would definitely recommend this place anyone whos looking for a great night out. Big thumbs up. Food is also served very fresh. Wouldnt mind eating here again
Went there to celebrate my fiancee birthday. The ambiance was very intimate. The music not overly loud. The food was delicious and tasted very fresh. Jessica, our server was an excellent server. She had a great positive attitude. Was knowledgeable on everything on the menu. They even came out with a birthday dessert to make my man happy which was important to me.
Food was decent, not terrific. Service was not slow, but a little strange - waiter advised we wave and scream at me if you need something. Anyway, everything was fine until I saw the check - $19 for a pretty mediocre cocktail served in a mimosa glass?! Its my fault for not scrutinizing the cocktail menu better I guess, but I was stunned that two cocktails total for myself and my date cost more than both of our entrees combined. Not worth coming back here.
From the time we sat down it was superb, the food, is like art.The staff treated us like royalty. The entire experience was something I will never forget.I recommend the meatball, chicken Dominick, and of course the Ribeye, it is fantastic.Desert was a true treat, from the 20 layer chocolate peanut butter cake to the, fried Oreo, to dip in vanilla Ice cream, as an added treat ginger bread cake with cream cheese Icing.Truly amazingWe will return again.
Horrible experience, me and my RN friends who used to work in Icu since the begging of pandemic were risking our lives for the rest werent let in the club for an unknown reason and asking to come back in 10 minutes. This is extremely disrespectful and I wish ai could give 0 star, because for no reason they didnt let us in
This place is really nice! The wait staff actually gets things done in a timely fashion, unlike most hookah lounges you tell them your coals need changing and you have to do that like 3 more times. The atmosphere is cool, The hookah is good. As we were leaving the owner stops us and gives us a free drink, which I thought was really nice. The belly dancer was good also! I was basically waiting to see it, Will be back again really liked it here.
Was a bit loud. Their portions were very small for an Italian place. They had meatball on the menu, it was basically a big lump of meat that is covered in sauce with hardly any flavor. Was not impressed although the place was packed. I guess when you are trending you can serve any quality food and get away with it. The pizza crust was good.
My favorite place in town when I am looking for fun time with my girls and delicious dinner. The place is always busy, but I like it this way. Its better to have a reservation. Only experienced great service and food at this place. The portions are big, so you can share the food. Love weekend brunches at 2 pm. The place turns into fun dance club. Great fit for birthday celebration or just fun time with your girls.
The place is really cool! Looks like a great spot for drinks after work. We went for dinner and didnt get the salad or app we ordered. Our server was a super nice guy and we really liked him. It was just frustrating to not get the app or salad. They finally brought the app out after we got our food. Then on top of that we got charged for the app and salad. I ordered the chicken parmigiana. It wasnt pounded so the chicken was chewy. All in all it wasnt mind blowing.
Was here for the prix fixe lunch with my team. Getting a reservation was easy on open table. They seated us pretty quickly when we arrived. The decor is more French than Italian - very charming none the less. The place was empty when we got there, bit filled up completely by the end. Also, got a bit loud by the end. The server was very nice and kept on refilling our water as it was a warm day - very thoughtful! The order was placed in no time and the complementary bread arrived. The bread was light and tasty - loved it. Didnt try he sauce, but was told it was good.My first course was the grilled octopus, was perfectly done. Wouldnt have mind if there was some sauce with it, it was delicious though. Second course was salmon, it went perfectly with the sauce - lemon and oil mix - very tasty. The third course was good old cheese cake - solid, cant complain. Got a cappuccino too, meh, could have been better, pass.Overall a good experience, wouldnt mind visiting again. 4 stars on account of the level of noise, couldnt really have a good conversation, nitpicking. Again shout out to the server, couldnt catch her name.
Yesterday I was a returning client to the Lavo restaurant, with a 5 star review, two years ago. This time most probably the kitchen was too busy to pay attention to my steak. The manager collected my plate, promising to bring it back ready in 10 min. Unfortunately 25 min later, my steak was not ready yet. Simply enough I’ve asked for the cheque and left the restaurant empty stomach as I had to catch up my flight. What a disappointment……Congrats , walking in the way to the hotel we found this restaurant in 58th street was a beautiful day and caught my eye the tables outside, decided to seat and have a quick lunch with the most wonderful surprise ...Food was excellent service amazing and the quality versus price was still better , considering that the night before we had a medium quality dinner in one of New York’s famous and recommended restaurants .
The food was well prepared. On a Friday night the service was poor. Had to ask for refills on coffee and tea multiple times. The biggest thing is the music here is blaring at the front bar area and loud all other areas. The younger crowd did not seem to mind, but talking with others meant shouting.Suggestions for deserts, cherry cheesecake is god but only a few cherries, avoid the Oreo desert, it is a cookie dipped in fully melted small cup of milkshake.
Linda the host was very niceFood was expensive but excellentThe service was so badThe waiter seem friendly when he started! But since we were still waiting for someone that started him off.We had to asked twice to get breadAnd then it took him maybe 15 minutes to get itIt was like he just didn’t want to take care of usWell service to me is important.when you in a $$$ star restaurant. And nice , polite , waiter will get a good tipI my part I give him $10Maybe next he will be better to others. But I don’t think I’ll go back
Very appealing aesthetic - upscale Italian with a hard edge. Presentation is on point, and the food is delicious, but the wait staff was not attentive (even though I was there early, and the front room was not even half filled). I chalk some of this up to their regular client base - as they dont want to overly bother you, but I had to periodically wait for refills, and placing orders for courses. The music can get to be a bit loud (and I was only in the restaurant), and the space can be a little cramped (the bathroom especially). The food was certainly high quality, and honestly, better than I expected (both in portioning - I couldnt even finish a meatball, and in taste); which helped to justify the price. Overall it was a nice experience, but I understand the mixed reviews.
Found this place on Google Maps and decided to go based upon other Google reviews. The hostesses were nice and quickly took us to a table even though we did not have a Friday night reservation. We were in the back of the restaurant and our waiter was very nice and took great care of us. We were in a row of four or five other couples eating dinner. We had good dinner and drinks. Price was about what I expected to pay.
The food is great and nice ambience but unfortunately we had to leave early because the rude waitress didn’t even give us a few minutes to order dessert. We asked her for a few minutes and a few minutes later she came back with the check! Practically forcing us to leave when we actually wanted to order more! Also had ordered appetizer and they forgot! Had to ask for Parmesan cheese 3 Times to different people before they finally brought it! Very bad experience and on my bday :(
Loved the vibe and music here during our dinner. They played a good mix of current and classic hits that had me dancing in my seat. The food was good but my steak was over cooked and I let the waitress know when she asked how it was. She apologized. A few minutes later, she had 3 incredible desserts and coffee on our table. Wow! Hopefully next time we come back we can experience the Lavo night club.
Love the food and lively atmosphere! Everything on the menu was great, including the deinks and dessert. Excellent service as well. Only caveat is the very loud music. The music really adds to fun experience of the meal but its just a little too loud, to the point that you have to strain to speak to the person sitting next to you.
I wish there were more stars! This place is amazing. The food is great, especially sopressata and mozzarella! You couldnt ask for nicer people, the personal service makes you feel appreciated. We got a few boxes of raviolis this last trip and there wasnt a single one left over. JUST GO!
First time at this place and not good at all. We ordered the big meatball and there was hair in it, the. What makes it worst my daughters friend had hair mixed in her tomato sauce which was nasty. Then the table next to us has the same thing but there was tangoes in their fries.Check your bill too bc the added other ppl drinks to the table. The guy manager was rude no apology’s at all but the lady manager came to our table and was apologetic and offer us to come back for. Better experience. I don’t know if i will come back.
Not the greatest place to have dinner. The pasta was halfway cooked. When I ordered San pelligrino mineral water, they brought another brand that I wasnt familiar with. I decided to drink tap water instead. All the dishes had some creamy garnish that was not listed on the menu. We had to remove it ourselves because we didnt want to wait for a redo. For what we paid for each meal, I dont think it was worth the money.
I was here for a networking dinner. So I did not chance to look into the menu, as the entire course meal was fixed before by the host. But I believe that, it’s pretty expensive. The food was really good, mostly the salmon ! There were some roasted potato, which was also absolute yum ! So as the desserts! But the show stopper was the glass of white wine ! The environment was pretty good, and so as the people inside.
This place was ok. Unfortunately, my friend found hair in her food, a long piece. Then, next to us this customer had another long piece of hair in their food. Once we got our check, the tables water next to us was in our check. Do not recommend!! Pay attention to your food and your check.
As a nightclub: successful at keeping it feeling exclusive. Service from the door to inside the club was professional and it kept the vibe comfortable and safe.VIP Service was quick, and kept it fun.No shoulder to shoulder crowding... Dance floor was always kept with enough room to enjoy it by using staff to keep entrance and floor clear of crowds or problems.A staff member was in sight at all times for safety and service.
Great food, fun atmosphere and super friendly staff! When you find the perfect combination of quality food and service its an amazing experience - to find it by surprise as a wayward tourist, its astonishing. Tried a seafood pasta here and the quality of seafood was outstanding: prawns, scalops, and shrimp were all top notch. The staff were incredibly friendly: at one point we asked if a server would mind taking a photo of us - turns out she seriously knew how to use our beastly camera and was more than happy to try a couple different compositions. If youve exhausted your caloric reserves after endless wondering through Central Park, Lavo should be a top contender for a fun and tasty refueling stop :)
I have looked forward to going to Lavo for the past year. Made reservations months ago to get to the front door and told that I made a mistake and did not confirm my confirmation...really? I need to confirm a confirmation? We ate in the bar area in hopes of a table coming available. We spent $200 in food and beverages, then we were told a table in the main room was available....however we would need to spend an additional $200 to be seated. On a few occasions I glanced a look into the main room and was frankly disappointed with the dining show. It was a haphazard effort by a few performers, mostly making themselves available for photos for bachelorette party goers. In summary, the food was fine however the customer service experience and atmosphere was beyond terrible. Simply the worst experience in customer service I have ever experienced at a restaurant. Pretentious and Self serving. If you are intent on going...I would go quickly, I cannot imagine they will be around much longer.
This is a hot-spot for midtown elite types who absolutely love capitalism. That being said, I thought Id hate it. In reality, the service is very good, the restaurant is clean and well-designed. The food we had, despite being essentially upgraded versions of kid food, was delicious. Its expensive, and exclusive, but a great place if youre into that.
Jessica is the best server ever!! She was so attentive and amazing!!!Good job manager on this one!!!She heard we were here for a wedding party amd she went and had the incredible chefs made a personalized dessert platter with the most perfect pink and blue candle for the bride and groom!!! Terrific place! Incredible staff!!! Best time!!!Thank you staff for being so gracious and phenomenal!!! You guys truly deserve all your praise!!!Chick with the Jack & Ginger 😚
All of our food was absolutely excellent, and the upbeat energetic atmosphere was a nice touch for a Saturday night dinner. However, we did run into a couple issues. First: we booked a reservation for 9:15pm and arrived at the restaurant at 9:25pm (within the 15 minutes that the restaurant will hold your time). We were then told our table was no longer ready and that they could not provide an estimated wait. We ended up getting seated at 9:45pm. Second: The service was very subpar. Our server had 6 tables, including several 10+ person parties, so I tried to take this into account. But would suggest that they consider additional staffing for busy nights.
I went to Lavo for lunch when they had a price fix menu for Restaurant week, and it did not disappoint. The food was fresh and tasted home cooked, like fancy comfort food. The waitress was very attentive to every need. I highly recommend the penne alla vodka. I try to have it at Italian Restaurants and it was very tasty. The desserts are not one to pass up, as they were absolutely worth the cost. I would go again for another special, as it allowed for a great experience that I wont forget.
This was the worse experience Ive ever had in the restaurant/club. My friends and I had dinner upstairs for which we made RSVP and spent decent amount of money. In order to get into the club, we had to leave the restaurant and get into the line outside, which was not the worse part yet. Once we got in, we spent couple of hundreds $$ on drinks, etc. As any club, I assume, is crowded, there is decent amount of pushing. While our husband were waiting at the bar, my friend and I proceeded to the dance floor. My friend followed the waitress, I followed my friend, and I was followed by others. As someone pushed me, I leaned toward my friend and as you can imagine she lightly touched the waitress, NOTHING major. Thats when within seconds upon waitresss request the security guy showed up claiming we need to immediately leave the premises as we cannot push the waitress. Now, we are intelligent women, no one pushed her in purpose and we apologized multiple times, but it seemed that the staff made up their mind way before it even happened. Leaving $20 drinks behind we were kicked out ruining the birthday night but most importantly unpleasant experience and attitude toward the guests.
Had lunch with a large group. Only giving two stars because the food was good - not the best. Horrible service. Sat us 20 minutes later than our scheduled reservation and brought us to a table that was not set up for the right amount of people so we turned around and went back to the bar area to wait again. Spent the entire lunch with the elbows of bus boys hurriedly swiping things off the table without even asking if we were done yet. We only saw our waiter once when we ordered and once when he took our glasses. Asked the bus boy to kindly get our waiter so we could order drinks and that never happened. Asked for an extra plate and that never happened. Apps were cold. I dont think we were being demanding. All of a sudden another waitress comes over to elbow me in the head as she cleans the table but never let us know that she was maybe our new server? Never had a chance to order anything else - we spent so much time waiting for service that we ran out of time before having to head back to work. We assume there must have been a shift change but dont really know for sure since no one let us know. We would have been better off serving ourselves. Was thinking of having a party here in the near future and have taken this place off my list.
This was my first time coming here. The service was great and food was great too!!! Had ordered the rib eye steak , mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts. Had about 4 manhattans to drink. When I got the bill, it wasn’t crazy at all. Definitely recommend to anyone who enjoys good food and good atmosphere. I forgot to mention, they had a live dj and a lot of tweeners. But other than that it was great.
Went there on Sunday evening and had a blast. The food was copious and great, the other guests were dressed up and having a terrific time, and the Dj and performers were amazing. By 11pm we were starting to dance and by midnight it was a full on party, with belly dancers and sexy cabaret-style entertainment. Will come back!
The absolute worst dining experience I have ever had. The food was great, drinks were good, service was ok. Overall, I wouldve given a rating of 4 stars, had our party not been subjected to the rude and completely unprofessional encounter that took place after our meal. Literally not even 2 minutes after our party of 12 dined, paid our $1000 bill and left our $300 tip, and as we were signing receipts, we were rudely approached by 2 security guards who instructed us that we needed to leave the premises immediately. I will never return to this place and will advice everyone I know to never dine here. This place clearly cares more about money and less about providing a great customer experience or return business. I wish zero stars was an option. I should also note that we were the only black diners in the restaurant at the time. After reading the other reviews of this racist establishment, Im not at all surprised that we were treated with such blatant disrespect and disregard.
Meatball and truffle gnocchi were very good- but there was hair in my penne al a vodka. Also hair in the table next to mine’s truffle fries. There were drinks that we didn’t order on our check. They deducted cost from the check and gave us free dessert which was good. Service is slow here
Nice restaurant at the top of the Marina Bay. The staff were nice and the food is good but it is on the expensive side. There also is a dress code, (long pants, closed toe shoes,) which is fine however the service was quite slow. If its going to be a nice higher end restaurant, the service needs to be better.
Crazy good Italian food. All the apps were outstanding and their signature meatball was killer. It was the size of a softball and plenty to share.Steaks were good too and we split the truffle gnocchi. The flavor of the gnocchi was rich, savory and flavorful. There must have been garlic in it, as I kept eating when I needed to stop. All was amazing, service was good. Totally check it out.
Reservation for 945. Arrived 945Seated 1030. Ordered appetizers and entrees. Entress arrived at 12 am 😑. Servers forgot to put in for about 3 different side orders for the table. I dont know what was happening but I wont come back here. They get a 2 because the drinks were good. Shout out to the bartenders!
Great spot for their fun, dancing on tables party experience.Ive been here a few times for drinks. The most recent time for an after dinner cocktail and it wasnt too crowded- fantastic cocktail from their drink list - the fragolita- wonderfully made. The previous time it was too crowded in the bar area for my preference so we wrapped it up after a drink. The most memorable time was with a while back with a small group celebrating a birthday. My friend heard about their party restaurant turned club vibe certain days/ nights and chose to come here. The music was loud, atmosphere was fun with great music. Definitely a unique experience and also the only time I ever saw that friend dancing on a table -- very social, very fun.
Met friends at Lavo for drinks and appetizers. Front part of restaurant is inviting and social with standing room bar and several tables. Separate from this area is a more formal dining room with white table cloth service. Wait staff is knowledgeable, proactive and friendly - their recommendations ensure satisfaction with libations and fare. Enjoyed the Quattro Formaggi Pizza and Chicken Marsala - both were excellent and uniquely flavored.
Restaurant week is what brought us here. Their normal menu is pretty pricey. Our reservation was for 8:15. We all got there on time and found ourselves waiting for a good 40 minutes. Thank god this restaurant understands the concept of a two way street. If youre over 30 minutes late, a restaurant will give your reservation away. If the restaurant is over 30 minutes late in giving you a table, usually nothing happens. But the fine hostess offered us a complimentary round of drinks because of the wait which wins my heart over.I had a 3 course meal consisting of the following below:Avocado Tuna Tartare - Im not crazy about Tuna but anything Avocado wins, right?! Plus, the waiter recommended it.Salmon - Oh do I love me some Salmon. I only have Salmon at fancy restaurants and Ive never been disappointed.Dark chocolate Salted Nutella something something - I dont remember the name but no no no. Too salty. Too dark chocolately. I tried the fried Oreo dessert from my friend and yes, yes, yes get that dont ask any questions. This place turns into a night club after 11 and its one of the top clubs in NYC so if youre going to dinner here, I recommend you stay for the party. Its not an easy place to get into for sure, especially for guys.
Too loud to talk to anyone, mediocre food, terrible service. Management totally unprofessional and condescending when bringing up an issue we were having with a large table of men seated next to us. The tables were so close together that we were unable to get out of our seats and one of the guys at the table refused to get up and let us out. Just had a bad day and didnt feel like getting up I guess. When we kindly asked for a manager to assist us they basically told us to figure it out for ourselves. Nice.
Food was amazing and the ambience was spectacular. Unfortunately we went on what I assume to be a busy night (Valentines) and I feel like our waiter was never there. We continuously had to flag down other waiters to help us and even a manager. But overall it was a good experience and I would reccomend.
Its a shame this place was amazing at one point, now run as big scam operation. Beware of your receipts you sign when you get your table. Hostess covers areas of contract you are signing.I had a table of six and told it was a $600 minimum when I made reservations. When I signed the paper before we got seated it had no dollar amount then midway through dinner waitress informers us it would be wise to get a bottle because we are not close to our $1400 minimum. When I spoke to the manager he approached me with two bouncers telling me the table I have has a minimum of $200/pp. Does that not come out to $1200.00!?When asked to see other table receipts filled out with the minimum the manager refused.Being a local I am not intimidated by bouncers, threats or scam like Lavo nyc does to get their way.I wouldnt be surprised that this is a normal tactic to make a extra buck.I will have a video update when I get done with this place. What a joke!
I do not think lavo is a great place because there was hair in a piece of my meatball and there was hair in my pasta. the people next to us also had hair in there fries. i really do not recommend this place and if you do come here you should really look into your food.
Kudos to all the performers; 5 stars for them! The shows were great and unique. However, minus one star for the severe overcrowding that makes it really uncomfortable to sit as you get pushed and shoved every millisecond (even if you reserve a table), and minus another star for sub-par food.
My review concerns the restaurant part. We lunched here and spent a wonderful moment. The staff was very professional and the food very good. We made the most of the lunch menu to take a starter and a main course, it valued for money (26$). The deco is really nice with a good atmosphere.
I brought my sister from out of town here last week because of how popular it is. The food, service, and ambiance was underwhelming. I got the truffle gnocchi and my sister had the lobster fra diavolo. Mine was pretty good but I had a bite of my sisters and didnt enjoy it at all. We had the fried oreos for dessert which was my favorite part of the meal. All in all it was okay but definitely not what it is hyped up to be.
The food and atmosphere in here was wonderful, the restaurant is family-run by mother and son, and the son was checking on all tables and asking guests if they were enjoying the experience. The service was reasonable and the food quality was nothing short of perfection.
Chicken marsala was undercooked which I could overlook and just enjoy the sides and drinks but an employee Jessica was extremely rude. There was some kind of reservation and we were told we could sit till 9pm. At 8:56pm Jessica came to our table procceded to grab the candles, blow them and say with an attitude you guys were supposed to be gone a half hour ago we had just finished signing our $700 bill. For a night out and spending that much I think people should be treated with a little more respect. We will not be going back. Nice place but Jessica is far from professional and definitely uneducated. She doesnt belong at Lavo. The manager was nice enough to offer us seating at another section and a bottle of champagne but we were so turned off we just got up and left.
The worst restaurant and the club i have ever been. Rudest security guys were insulting everyone even the girlfriends next to us. This place has no sense of kindness, customer satisfaction or whatsoever. Lavo is a dangerous place for people who are just trying to have fun with their friends
Hated this place. I wish I could give a zero star rating. The cover jumps from $30 to $40 depending on the bouncers mood. Staff was extremely rude and insulting. The bouncer yelled You dont speak French here, you speak English... What a freedom hater. The music is not set up right: way too much treble : headache guaranteed! ! For a better night out try Meatpacking, cant go wrong with Jane Hotel or PhD
We made a reservation for 9:15pm. We waited an hour and a half to be seated because our table was still occupied and were told “just another 10 minutes” that entire 90 minutes. We ended up leaving because it’s preposterous to have to wait that long for a RESERVED TABLE.
Sadly had a reaction to the muscles. 1 hour later had to take 2 ubers back to my hotel. The first I had to jump out and use the bathroom at Starbucks. I thought they tasted a bit funny..thought it was the seasoning. Nope. Food born illness. Was down for 24 hrs. Cheesecake is also bland FYI.
This nightclub was one of the worst experiences Ive ever had. My husband and I got a table with one of the promoters and we thought its going to be fun to meet some people since we didnt know anyone in the city. The table was so overbooked that at the end there where about 20 people sitting almost on top of each other. My husband wasnt allowed to sit next to me because the owner and the security just wanted to see women to be seen like some kind of trophy at least that was the reason that was given to us. We where also told several times that we are being watched by the owner, mot even sure if that guy was the owner but he had his girls and security dancing around him. A lot of the guest including myself where being yelled at in an aggressive way because we got to close to some other tables. It is pretty hard almost impossible to have a little space in such a overcrowded place. These where just couple examples of the nightmare, I could continue for the next hour. Not worth spending money there.I dont appreciate being treated like this.Even if I didnt had to pay for that place I will never get back there. If I could give 0 stars I would. It was the biggest disappointment possible. The only good thing was the dj that Saturday.
Extremely biased Doorman. They will tell you its a private event if you or your guest are not beautiful to them. My Friend is a beautiful full figured Woman and was told its a private event but I arrived 30 minutes ahead of her and walked right in no questions asked. Smh, I left since she wasnt allowed to enter because she wasnt pleasing to the Doormans eyes. Wont return
I’ve gone to bad bars before, but Lavo has by far been my worst experience ever. Me and my boyfriend tried to get in with a promoter and it appeared only women got tickets and guys were sent back. When we went back up to ask how we could buy a ticket for him, everybody refused to talk to us and the main bouncer stamped me and another girl (banned us) when asking about the tickets. Did not even look us in the eye or say anything to us. ”Stamp these ones, I don’t want them back in.” For asking how me and the one I came with could both get in? Really? After that the bouncer physically threw us out, got verbally abusive and called us cheap. I don’t know how well this bar thinks it’s doing but I hope a bomb lands on this place. Nobody deserves to be treated this way. Bouncers that get kicks for ruining peoples nights are disgusting, but because this kind of behavior towards customers is clearly ok in this place, I am also looking at the owners. And I will never forget to share this experience.
This was my second time at Lavo, my wife and my sisters wanted to surprise me and take me there for my birthday and I really wasnt impressed this time around. When we arrived my sister checked in with one of the hostesess, Ramesh, mind you we arrived 30 minutes before our 9pm reservation, she state that we would be the next table to be seated with an attitude, after an hour passed by we still werent seated. Brittany another hostess was extremely attentive and wanted to make sure we were seated she kept checking in with us. My wife spoke to Ramesh, the hostess, who stated that we would be seated next, then Ramesh stated she texted us, however she never stated that she would text us to let us know when our table would be ready. After that debacle, we were finally seated and our waitress, Jessica, was awesome she definitely made the rest of the evening better, our appetizers and entrees came out with great timing, and the food was delicious.
For the lever that you’re expecting it was very poor experience,we didn’t even get to diner....as we walked in nobody greeted us,hostess just kept on talking to other girl waiting for me to say hi and what in the world I want there from her, that’s how she made us feel by looking at us and not saying a word.when we got to the table(which was served for 4 ppl,and it was only 2 of us)nobody cleared the other 2 settings,I got the menu with page missing so we had to read from one menu.the server was too busy to get to us so we were just sitting there, and nobody else approached out table to great us or offer water or anything,we were pretty hungry so after waiting around 15 min we just walked out.Honestly don’t feel like coming back,it got us feeling like we not welcomed there and they are bothered with our presence.Very sad,I wouldn’t call that place a restaurant...
The owners here are belligerent, lowlife assholes. We went to a New Years after-party and were having a pretty good time dancing to the super mainstream/top40 music and one of the owners was at a nearby table. He was very drunk and hit my boyfriend for no reason at all and started a fight with him. It was just horrible, I couldnt believe what was happening. The owners here are complete trash, totally presumptuous. Wouldnt be caught dead here again.
I ordered a $50 bone-in filet rare, with $12 mushrooms on top and $3 truffle butter: it came medium-well, I told my waiter and he seemed happy to take it back and promptly cook a new one.10 minutes later, they came back with a confusing story, and my original overdone steak - turns out they just cut off the overdone parts and sliced up the entire rest of the steak on my plate and said The edges were just a bit crispy, we cut those off and we are re-presenting the same steak to you as medium-rare. All while a large bouncer out his hand forcibly on my shoulder and said to me Its a beautiful cut of steak.Absolutely ludicrous... we were spending a lot of money that night in a big party and they treated me like a peasant. Will never be returning.
The nightclub is nice but if you want to get ripped off on your drinks youve come to the right place. Cocktails are $20 including tip, the glasses are half the size of a normal glass, stuffed with ice, and the weakest pours in human history. I bought five cocktails and actually felt more sober after drinking them! Must have been pouring me water or something. Have fun!
Just had dinner at Lavo for a SevenRooms and Grand Mariner experience event, and my mind is blown. I have not been to Lavo in years, but I can say that they outdid themselves grandly! All of the food and drinks were perfection. The food and drink presentation was an experience to remember, and all of the staff were super attentive and hospitable. Chad deserves and extra shoutout because he catered to the vegetarian way of life and blew our minds by serving us the most amazing eggplant Parmesan. No one skipped a beat and we had a great time. I will definitely be returning, and would love to plan a business event here.
My husband and I were invited to join a group of our 5 girlfriends to celebrate a bachelorette weekend. When we approached the doorman/bouncer they let in one of the girls in our group, but made the others wait (in the rain). The doorman told the bride to be to take that ugly f**king thing off your head referring to her veil - before she could get in. He was about to let all the ladies in when he found out they had two gay men coming in with them - all of the sudden the cost of admission was $1,500 minimum bottle service. After we agreed to pay, he told another one of our girlfriends thats what you get for running your mouth! I honestly didnt even want to patronize this club after the homophobic & misogynistic comments we had to endure, but this is really where the bachelorette wanted to go, so we sucked it up. Once inside, the area for bottle service was just a small booth seat open to the main dance floor. The dance floor was soo crowded, people kept knocking into our drink table and standing in our area. Another group behind us was smoking weed and was soo wasted they spilled multiple drinks on us. We complained to a floor manager/security but nothing was done. The crowd was mainly 20 something d-bags and trashy girls/escorts who were soo drunk they could hardly stand up. The womens bathrooms were filthy and like a sauna. 2 bottles of Kettle One and mixers, bottle service ended up costing us $1,900+ after included gratuity of nearly $500 bucks. Total rip off and horrible experience overall. I would recommend anywhere else!

2021-12-02Everything is delicious here. The ingredients are top notch. The type of place you get the impression that whoever runs it is not interested in saving money with the food they serve. The only reason I am not giving them 5 stars is because the service was a bit slow. This could include the kitchen as well, not sure. The fact is that the place was far from full; We arrived at 13:30, ordered right after, and by the time we were served dessert it was already after 15hrs. Tuna tartare is a must try. Quality of their meat (be it fish or steak) is divine.

2021-12-21So we definitely had an interesting experience here lol but ill review the food first. As far as appetizers we decided to try the giant meatball and while we didnt care for the marinara sauce that came with the breadsticks, the sauce that came with the meatball was very good and we felt as though the meatball was cooked very well. I ordered the chicken marsala for my meal as well as the truffle fries and although i didnt particularly care for the fries, I thought that the sauce for the marsala was pretty good but when i was eating the mushrooms it was a little too crunchy at times as though there could have been some dirt or something. Besides that a friend that i was with had the seafood pasta i believe it was called and he enjoyed it.The icing on the cake was when it was time to go though. So after I received the bill i saw there was a qr code to pay online so I decided to give that a try so we didnt have to wait for the waiter to bring back my card. Well after successfully paying online we left the receipt there and got up and left. About seconds later the waiter comes after us asking how we are going to pay for the bill. I showed her on my phone where I did pay for the bill and shes going back a forth saying shes not sure how to close out the bill. So, im sure for some it could have been embarrassing essentially being accused of stealing, but I just thought i was kind of ridiculous to have the QR codes on the receipt but there being no communication that the bill was paid without us having been chased after, weird, but maybe its just me...

2022-03-16I did not have a good experience. Their customer service is awful. I came in for a quick bite Tuesday night at 7pm and sat at the bar. Bartender wasn’t friendly but I still managed to give her a tip. The food was good but I’m not spending money at a restaurant that doesn’t value their customers; there’s plenty of great restaurants in the area. As I was leaving, the hostess, a female and male manager were at the host stand talking amongst themselves. Neither of them bothered looking in my direction as I made my way out. Great way for management to set a working example. I live in the area but I do not intend on being a repeat customer.

2022-07-04Pre-fix lunch is lovely: everything is tasty and more than enough to fed one. Steak is beautifully cooked.

2022-06-02I recently dined here mid-week for a group work lunch. I ordered from their Lunch Pre-Fixe Menu. Its a great deal for only $29.99, which includes an appetizer, entree, and dessert. Great service, and our food did not take long to be prepared. Food servings are bigger than I expected, so I had leftovers for dinner. The restaurant is big, it was not too loud or crowded. I highly recommend this place for lunch, and I will definitely return again soon.

2021-11-04Recommend checking this place out. Food is delicious. Waitress made sure we were always taken care of. 👍👍
