She explained to us about the difference of a will and a trust and also discussed the best way to save taxes. She did a comprehensive estate plan for our family that included a trust which she transferred our house to, wills for me and my wife and living wills. Inna is a terrific NY probate attorney. Unfortunately during pandemic we lost my 74 year old uncle in NY and I was assisting his 2 daughters both of whom reside in FL to file his will on King’s county surrogate court.Right away we realized that we need a lawyer as the process of probate is very complicated and we had no idea what we were doing. After doing my own estate planning with her office I have to say that all those reviews were really true.We had our initial consultation with attorney Inna Fershteyn personally and she did the most comprehensive estate planning during that first meetings. She reviewed our entire estate, the age of our kids, when we would plan to retire, how much money we had in our pension plans, if we had life insurance for our minor kids and explained the difference between trust and will and how will has to go through probate process and trust does not. We felt like we were in very capable hands after the first initial consultation and immediately signed a retainer to do a revocable living trust, healthcare proxies and power of attorneys and to transfer our house into a trust to avoid probate in the future. I visited law office of Inna Fershteyn with my parents. My parents were planning to retire and suddenly realized that their savings and tiny pension will not be enough to pay for medical insurance and remaining mortgage on their house when they retire. Needed to do some emergency planning to make sure me and my sister will not end up paying for their medical expenses or nursing home. They ended up doing an irrevocable trust and transferring their house and bank accounts into such trust to make themselves eligible for nursing home Medicaid in the future. Did some additional planning with life insurance and discussed their Medicaid eligibility. We were pretty happy with advise that we received and ended up taking it. It did take a little long to put everything together mainly because my parents couldnt decide what they wanted to do right away. In the end were happy with the result.

A word of advice: go to her competitors they offer free consultations.We agreed upon a date and price for a consultation. We talked with her staff and mentioned we were running late. We expected to be taken on arrival for the remaining time we had left, but Ms. Fershteyn was busy with other clients during our time.When she did find the time to work with us, she often went on tangents talking about personal and unrelated matters which took more time. The information she assumed we needed was explained well, but the questions which I actually wanted answered werent asked due to lack of time.I asked for a partial refund because I was unsatisfied with the service and didnt receive answers to the questions I wanted. She refused to refund half the consultation fee.My experience was far from positive, and I would not recommend her to my friends.
Inna and her staff are extremely knowledgeable and direct. I thought the process of making a trust would be a daunting experience. We delayed estate planning due to the cost, but finally bit-the-bullet and contacted Inna Fershteyn. Inna set up an a trust for us, wrote wills and health proxys, and transferring the deed of our house to the estate. The legal paper work was completed within a week and the deed was registered by the following week. Inna and her staff were patient, friendly, and efficient. The total cost was about $9000, including deed transfer fees. Keep in mind that your costs may be different.

2022-01-23I turned to Inna and her law office at a desperate time when my dad for terminally Ill and needed medicaid. Inna understood how time sensative this issue was and started her team on it right away. She assisted us withcreating several trusts and with the medicaid application. 2021-09-22After hours of searching for an estate planning attorney for my parents, Inna clearly stood out - her reviews (of which there were hundreds of 5 star reviews) were amazing, and I knew that my parents would be in good hands with her.Immediately upon arriving to the office, Inna’s assistant brought us into a private room, where she explained the trust and healthcare proxy documents to my parents and I. She was incredibly accommodating and answered every question we had with perfect clarity, in both Russian and English. Not long after, Inna joined us in the room, and we instantly knew that we had made the right choice in choosing an estate planning attorney.Not only was she bright and sharp-witted, but also made the estate planning process entertaining (which we didn’t think could even be possible!) with her bubbly personality and her charming sense of humor. She not only answered the remaining questions we had, but directed us to her personal banker for our trust. By the end of the conversation, it almost felt like we had known each other for years - it was such a warm and welcoming environment that my parents didn’t want to leave. 2021-07-20One of my retired indecisive relatives asked me find an experience Russian speaking attorney who specializes in estate planning and wills. While there are many attorneys in these areas of law, I needed to find the one who would be able to explain to my relative and I similar information multiple times. So, as usual I checked reviews on google, made bunch of calls and then visited around six Russian-speaking attorneys in Shepheard Bay and Brighton Beach area. Since my relative had a complicated estate planning and Will that involved sizable part of her estate to be donated to two major universities, we decided to hire Inna Fershteyn or as my relative called her Innochka :-) once we got acquainted…Inna is an excellent attorney with great sense of humor. She is very patient and I guess she understands that not all people can comprehend information after hearing it just once. Inna took extra time to listen what my relative wanted and then explained to her various approaches in estate planning, especially one related to the donation to universities.Inna’s office space is very clean, and her staff were eager to help us with questions we had prior and after meeting Inna.Finally, my relative, who taught music at graduate level classes back in USSR, and Inna ended up speaking about music for almost 2 hours. It was interesting to find out that Inna is a pianist and she enjoys classical music.

2020-10-06When I came to Innas office, I wanted to help my grandparents create their elder plan. Inna was very helpful, and gave great advice on which documents should be executed in their elder plan. In a matter of a few weeks, my grandparents had their elder plan created.
