Lderach in other cities:
Läderach are premium chocolates, there is no doubt. The flavor and taste are there, quality ingredients, interesting combinations, freshly produced...However, I havent noticed any particular difference comparing with some similar producers (Lyndt). On the top of that, they increased prices, I would say. The pound of their chocolate (big sellection and different flavors in offer: macadamia nuts, cranberries, cornflakes, pistachios, etc.) is unreasonable high, $50+ I was said while I was shopping at the store on Lexington Avenue.I spent $30 for a bit more than a half of lb. Honestly, it is too much. Again, their chocolates are good, but overpriced.P.S. The store is clean and has a good location.
12/2/20, Walking by Laderach and saw the HUGE pieces of bark chocolates, I mean HUGE pieces!! and quiet a variety! When I ask the price and was told $:40 a pound, my curiosity abounds for the taste of $ 40. a pound chocolates. Maybe they sell quarter pounds!!! Ill try for New Years 2021!!! YaEH!!
This was the BEST CHOCOLATE IVE EVER HAD. They let you taste whatever you are interested and the staff is as sweet at the chocolate ☺. 10/10 This will be our family tradition every time we visit New York, you can taste the quality right down to the last crumb of chocolatey loveliness.
The employees don’t wear masks here. So be careful - don’t buy the loose chocolates in the display case for hygiene reasons, as there is no barrier between the employees and the chocolates.I went today, July 2, around 12pm, saw 1 female and 1 male employee and neither were wearing masks. I asked them why they weren’t, and the female employee said they weren’t asked to wear masks, so it’s up to them if they want to. (Their own sign, taped to the door, says that they wear masks). Considering that they have a whole display case of loose chocolates, and I even heard someone coughing, I feel like this is a big deal. To put it in context, Bloomingdales (which is next door), asks everyone entering to wear a mask; the vast majority of New Yorkers wear masks even outdoors. They’re priced as a luxury chocolatier (which is fine as they taste great), but their cavalier attitude about hygiene is a huge turn off. I’ve bought plenty of their chocolates in the past, but I doubt I’ll be going back.
Literally the best chocolate Ive ever had! Laderach is a Swiss chocolatier who is now finally in NYC! They have a huge 5th Ave location which is their Flagship store. They sell chocolate in the most interesting way. They come in flat slabs and when you pick the flavor you want they break off a piece and weigh it for you. So they are selling it by the pound but you can buy whatever quantity you want.I absolutely love the white chocolate one with raspberries and the milk chocolate with caramelized almonds. You will go back 4 times in a week (Im guilty of this lol)!IG-traveleen_gurl
My husband brings me these incredibly delicious candies all the time. Today I decided to buy candies on my own. Upon entering the store , the very welcoming guy offered us a sample. I, however , went straight to the truffle counter. The sales person asked me what I would like. I knew that I wanted only truffles since I find them the best to my liking.I asked some questions about truffles but the person working with me seemed uninterested, dismissive and almost as I was taking her time. I politely ( to my knowledge) called her out on her “ eye rolling “ to which she seemed to responded well and slightly changed her attitude.I am quite shocked for this sales person whole demeanor in that kind of happy place with that kind of high quality sweet art work .I hope that calling out her on her “ eye rolling” would send a message to her that a job is not a burden but privilege and we all must take a pride in no matter what we do.
Extremely disappointed. This is our absolute favorite chocolate from Switzerland and placed an order online at the very beginning of December. We were charged the full amount (which is not cheap!!!) and never received the order or a shipping confirmation. Customer service seems to place us directly into voicemail each time we call. Both voicemails and emails have gone unanswered for well over a week. Not the type of service we would expect relative to the prices paid.
Stopped in the store at the Short Hills Mall in NJ. What a treat. The guy behind the counter could not be nicer. The Chocolates are delicious. I love that he offered to let us sample the chocolate. I ended up buying some and plan to go back for more. A great gift for a chocolate lover.
Let me start by telling you all that this chocolate place gives free samples of their very delicious chocolate! They are generous. I had already tasted two pieces when the sales person offered the third, in response to my question about what it tasted like. Also, keep in mind that Läderach is not in Bloomberg. Its a separate small place that can be entered from the street, without having to go inside any big store.I visited Läderach twice, in both times I was welcomed nicely. But for my first visit, I would give four stars because I was upset that the sales person tidied up her hair a few times, while handling my order, which I considered a bit gross. This time I liked it better, because the whole experience was perfect! The taste of chocolate is very fresh and delicious. Expensive, yes, but worth it. For a long while, I lost interest in buying chocolate, because it all felt a bit stale, but Läderach brought back the love of chocolate to me.
We were searching for a little sweet pick me up after touring Central Park on a rainy day. We first went to Macaroon Cafe & experience terrible service, we didn’t even get anything. Right around the corner we saw this place and the lady who helped us really turned around our spirits. The chocolate was amazing and she was such a sweet lady! We will be visiting this location again! Thank you!
Best chocolate ever!! Service was very nice, these people came in without a mask and instead of kicking them out they gave them a mask and gave them samplers of what they wanted. The chocolate is amazing, the regular truffle is so buttery and heavenly. There are chocolates through orange bark to mint truffles. Swiss chocolate. Would 100 recommend it for adults for families not as much. Overall amazing place.
The taste of the chocolate is ridiculously good. A bit pricey at $40 per lb. I had the milk chocolate with almonds. Management should pay a bit more attention to service that was just okay as they could also use some more knowledge and care like you would find at a Neuhaus store - but the product is fantastic.
I wanted to treat myself to a posh chocolate experiences......I so got my wish filled going here! The smell alone would make any chocolate lover go mad. The cashiers were sweet, young sprites; they were very helpful. I have a new love in my life: Läderach. The giant, white chocolate balls are just divine 💕xxx
I came into this store looking for a caramel apple and did not find one here. But the 2 ladies that helped me out were so friendly and nice that I ended up buying some chocolate from them! Not only did they have GREAT CUSTOMER service skills they were helpful and actually cared to helped me!!!! & that is why I bought the chocolate even tho I’m still looking for my caramel apple. Great chocolate
Sad state of mind. I walk in and was greeted by a female member, who looked like she slept in her uniform. The white shirt barely fit her figure as well as the pants. As far as chocolate knowledge. The only explanation was its from Switzerland. Unfortunately, no social distancing was practiced in this store. To many people roaming around. I believe a manager, who should have controlled all these infractions was non existent.Let alone no one was wearing glovesAnd all masks were worn incorrectly. At, this point I walked out. Tried once again. Chocolate slabs in windows on shelves with no protective features/ barriers, or anything other than air between the chocolate and the counter. So much for pandemic prevention. I visited the site on Lexington Avenue and 58 st. Another sad state of mind. A manager who barely fits into vest , was annoyed he had to stick Santa hats on chocolate canister. His mask was below his nose. And didnt want to adhere to new CDC guidelines It is sad that they have this calavir attitude as if covid-19doesnt exist . Case in point Chocolate slabs left on window ledges with no coverage or any type of enclosure that would provide protection from the air once the door opens. Im sure your regional manager will just pretend that youre dont have to worry about ineptitude of staff and make excuses for this experience.
First time in the store but not last, the chocolate tasted amazing and the staff was so friendly, I have been helped by madji she was so nice and helpful. She was very sweet and very knowledgeable. because of her i had brought so much chocolate and some i had never tasted before.
Let me start of by saying customer service is the key to have certain type of customers like myself (a true New Yorker at HEART) come back again and again. MY FAVORITE is the choco flakes the chocolate is delicate and mouth-watering . I had such a rich an inspiring experience with a young lady named jasmine (I hope I am spelling it right) she was super knowledgeable about the product I was stunned and impressed. Applause to her !!! She took her time with me and my order Next time Im coming straight to Jasmine ! Thank you Laderach for having such bomb staff as Ms.Jasmine !! Will see you guys soon for sure!
Let me start off saying that Laderach makes the best chocolates in the world! I visited Switzerland last year and it was love at first bite! I have been shipping their chocolates ever since. Needless to say when we were told that a store opened up in NYC we rushed the very same day to get our fill of deliciousness. The only reason for 2 less stars is that the pricing in NYC is 50% more than in Switzerland. I think its really steep to pay 11.90$ for 0.25 pounds of chocolate! In fact its cheaper getting it shipped from Switzerland. Nevertheless its awesome to have a local store I can go to every now and then.Update - Went back today and was pleasantly surprised that the prices have been reduced. Thank you for listening to your customers so promptly! I will be stopping by everytime I visit the city.
So I am pregnant and got a craving today for some chocolate. I always wanted to try this location as it looks really delicious. The price was redicously high and the front lady rolls her eyes if you ask to try a sample. I got a very small dark chocolate (which ended up being too sweet) for almost 11$. I wanted to try it before purchasing but I had already asked for a sample from the white one and got the rolling eyes so I didn’t want to get it twice!
I moved to the US from Switzerland and was beyond excited to discover that my favorite chocolate is available here. I would personally recommend any box of assorted pralines or plain milk chocolate, but really nothing can ever go wrong when youre getting your chocolate from Laederach:)
I posted an IG photo when I saw the store open, because it looked so amazing...and one of my friends fell in love used them for her companys corporate gifts, and we received one! I just made my own first purchase and tried a sample of the white with pistachio, almond (I think) and Orange...simply incredible.
I was in Switzerland a few years ago and in the big cities, Laderach can be found dotting downtown areas. I love their chocolates, especially their florentines. Im so glad theyve opened up a location in NYC!!The selection is mostly the same as their Swiss shops and everything is shipped from Switzerland.Im always excited to buy chocolate bark by weight from Laderach.
This is my favorite chocolate in the world so far, I live in NYC and Milan, and I travel to Switzerland often by train stopping in Bern or Lugano ONLY to buy this chocolate. I went even to visit the original factory and the museum.I give only 3 stars due to the price that is really too expensive. It’s double what I pay in Switzerland, It almost insulting to people who would love to try it. And even if you can afford it , it doesn’t mean you want to be ripped off . It’s cheaper to buy it online. Second reason is the thickness of the sheets of chocolate . In nyc the average of the chocolate sheet is a little thicker than the one I buy in Switzerland so you end up with more weight and paying even more crazy price. The corn flakes one I had was too thick and the flakes were all broken small pieces lost in too much chocolate while the one I buy in Bern has a perfect balance between chocolate and the whole flakes you see on the surface. I mean , I am a fan and I love it but don’t take advantage of addicted people! ;-)
Im so surprised!I had never eaten such delicious chocolates until I went to Switzerland, bought some gifts for my return to USA Everyone loved! When I got the email that had a new store in NYC, Im so happy and thought it would be the solution for some Christmas gifts. He had planned to go on Thursday (19) to do my shopping, but with these viewsm scared !!!!So you see would have been better to order from Switzerland !!!!What a pity :(
Wonderful, very good to be able to speak french with one of your salesmen smiling and welcoming. Of course the chocolate is very good, the only rating decreasing a star is at the level of your prices. Your company should review / reconsider its pricing policy for a little extravagant even for New York. Excellence does not necessarily equate to the price of excellent products in Europe.Wondeful choices.

2021-10-23Absolutely artistic and delicious🇨🇭🍫chocolate!! 😋😍 they have such a great collection, variety of flavors, and very beautiful pre- packaged boxes for gifts! The staff was very professional, kind and helpful! 🙌 They invited us to try the new flavors to help us decide our favorites before buying. They sell the chocolate by pound. My favorite was the white chocolate with pistachio and dried fruit.

2022-07-05Loved the chocolate and the set up of the store. This is definitely the best chocolate that I’ve had and highly recommend. They do give samples which is nice because you can try the chocolate before you purchase it. Very nice workers too.

2022-07-22Delicious! I was walking by and was drawn inside by all the beautiful chocolates. Immediately upon entering, I was being offered samples of all the delicious treats. They have a selection of Pralines & Truffles, but they are known for their sheets of chocolate that they break off and sell by weight. And it was all delicious. If you are on a diet or a tight budget, this isnt the place for you. But if you are a fan of deliciousness and chocolate, check it out. The hardest part will be limiting how many flavors you try.

2022-04-18This is the best chocolate place in Manhattan! There are several locations but I go to the one a block south of Bloomingdales on Lexington. The chocolate is very rich and flavorful, so you only need a teensy bit to satisfy a craving. I recommend getting the bag of broken pieces (or ask them to make one for you with your favorite flavors) for around $14 (sold by weight). The Gingerbread flavor was sublime!

2021-01-03Everything I tried was delicious! High quality chocolate with a variety of flavors. The shop was quiet busy during the holiday season so there weren’t any staff members on the floor, they were all behind the counter. But the customers was still wonderful. I even got to sample some things.

2022-05-18I saw this place advertised in our local Sutton Place Social Magazine and knew I had to go check it out since it’s not too far from me. I also happen to be a chocolate fanatic . They offered samples and boy were they delicious . It’s not cheap but I couldn’t help but splurge on an assortment box because it was so good . I will definitely be back again soon . Very nice European staff that were informative and helpful without being pushy .
