My favorite Vegan restaurant! I’ve ate here in person and had a delivery order and both times the food did not disappoint! Everyone is very friendly and takes their time to explain the options that they have. I think it’s such a cute place to eat and enjoy your food. It’s a little pricey but the quality definitely makes up for it. If you’re looking for fresh healthy food this is your place. They have very yummy desserts too. i would love to try them all.
The highlight of my trip to NYC. Delicious and top quality offerings: fresh produce, excellent variety, and well-presented Vegan dishes. Value is phenomenal for the quality and top level cuisine. Recommend the Botanical salad and Miso soup. The Chili sin Carne is also great. Finish off (if you have room) with the Omega 3 Brownie with Cashew cream.Ill be dreaming of Le Botaniste on the flight home.Another reason to visit Manhattan ❤
Decided to try this place after reading all the rave reviews. Unfortunately my experience wasn’t great. I got the DIY bowl and the staff who prepared my order kept pushing and rushing me to make my selections. He also was impatient and vague in answering my questions on the ingredients. And, portions are very small considering the price tag. Overall I would not return to this place again.
I give this place 10 stars!!!Delicious wholesome food. As soon as you walk in I was drooling from the aroma. We tasted the Carrot soup, mild and delicious. The Miso soup, had a strong ginger taste but also delicious!!! I settled for the Vegtable Tajine and my husband had the chilli. He loved everything and he isnt vegan. The staff was super patient, knowledgeable and courteous. While we were there a couple came in from Long Island and ordered 10 soups and espresso shots. 😯Said they come monthly and order the same thing. Now I know why! I wish I had done the same. Lol There isnt a place like this in Maryland. Its a little pricey but worth it!! Also the brownies are to die for. I brought two for the road. Le Botaniste you did a great job. See you soon.
Calling all people, vegan or not, this is a great place to try out something good for you. I had the Tibetan Mama (brown rice, coconut peanut curry sauce, steamer greens and Kimochi)... So good! They also have a wine menu (organic) which I am excited to try out next! They do have indoor and outdoor seating. Caferia meets cozy hidden back quarters with plants and intimate seating. I enjoy seeing the food being dished infront of me and it smells amazing as soon as you walk in!
As someone trying to eat more plant based meals, I love Le Botaniste. The restaurant’s aesthetic is beautiful and the staff is both friendly and knowledgeable. Everything I ordered was delicious and fresh. Everything is vegan and they have gluten-free and soy free options too which is great. It’s also lovely to see the food being cooked in front of you. I highly recommend Le Botaniste if you’re looking for a casual, healthy, and tasty meal.
OMG SOOOOOOO AMAZING! I honestly didn’t have the best expectations here but this one so good that once we had one bite we couldn’t stop!I got a pressed juice and my friend and I shared three of their bowls and WOW! Sooo good all I have left to show are the empty bowls. We were both blown away by the incredible flavours! Still drooling thinking back to it!
We were thrilled to find this super cute place with prescriptions for healthy food. Setup was not fancy: you order at the counter and find a seat in the dining area. If you are looking for plush luxury, go elsewhere. But if youre looking for healthy delicious vegan food, this is the place for you!
Delicious plant based bowls and yummy food! Love the cafe style and the make your own cold or hot bowls. Exotic flavors, healthy and fun combinations. Flavors and spices are delicious. Bowls are great size. Very filling. Interior is welcoming and cozy as well. Great wine selection and yummy healthy juices! Cant wait to come back and try other things on the menu.
I accidentally stumbled upon this place and fell in love with it from the first sight. I love its vibe and of course the food is amazing too. The portions are not so huge that you feel stuffed. All the staff are super nice and accommodating. It’s a self-service place but you don’t feel like no one is paying attention to you. Highly recommended.
Had the pleasant opportunity to have lunch at Le Botaniste. The Summer Sushi Roll tasted a little dry and plain even with the sauce on the side.Tibetan mama was delicious. It was the perfect blend of spices and very filling.Lemonade was good as well.Staff is very friendly and were kind enough to suggest the Tibetan Mama.I will certainly return to this location.
Whenever I visited Manhattan, I try to stop for lunch at Le Botaniste. The menu is always different and the tastes are a wonderful experience. While the fare is all vegan, everyone Ive taken here have enjoyed the food. Pricey but with it. Casual and relaxed. Dont miss it.
Incredible on all accounts. The staff is friendly, informative, and great at presentation. The ambiance of the indoor and outdoor (during the pandemic) are unique, elegant, and cozy. The food is the real star here, however as it tastes even better than it already looks! As a vegan I loved finding this Manhattan Gem! And the desserts are to die for! Get a brownie no matter what else you order! My fiance and I loved it and if youre a vegan I suggest it as a must try in NYC! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK! 👍 will definitely be back very soon!
Since this place is around my college its somewhat convenient. Its affordable (but not college student affordable) considering the location in uptown. There are many shops around this area so at least you have options if this isnt your cup of tea. In the pictures below I had the Tibetan Mama Rice Bowl, a Summer Roll & Omega 3 Brownie. The food was okay but because I like my food with lots of spices the meal was sadly lacking for me. I spent $27.85 (believe me I dont spend this much on the daily) I visited maybe once more after this.
Shoutout to Tommy for being fabulous and amazing at his job! He really went above and beyond going through each option with us and gave his opinion, was patient and flexible. I had a small salad bowl with the superseded avocado and topped with aioli, and a small side of butternut squash soup. My friend had the spicy chili. Everything was bright and flavorful. It took us forever to decide on what to order because we wanted it all! The aesthetic and vibe inside was nice and light - rustic chic, casual yet elegant enough with beautiful ceramic bowls. This will be my new neighborhood staple when I’m looking for something healthy and delicious. Can’t wait to be back and try everything on the menu!
OMG this place is enthralling. Lovely holistic/apothecary vibe, vegan food, luscious colors, scents & textures. Sweet modern interiors. Serve yourself (money & time saver). I LOVED Tibetan Mama (curry, rice & veg 🍛) and the key lime pie for desert. This is my new staple.
Tasty plantbased menu, with lots of flavors and textures! I always eat the chili sin carne and it’s perfect. Good size portions and you feel good after. Also have to say that I love the apothecary, homey style of this place, makes it a good lunch spot and they even have a bar with organic wine which is a big +
Always love it here. I come here after the gym, or on days when I feel like I havent been eating clean enough. I never feel guilty about the portions here because the food is so healthy. I recommended this place to all of my friends its always so amazing how they veganize some of my favorite dishes. Its also easy on my tummy because I have so many food allergies.
Just ordered a hot bowl with fusilli, bolognese, peas, 3 beans, Brussels sprouts, and green sauce, and it was amazing. It was so good I had to go on their website to confirm it was really vegan. Delivery didn’t take long, food was hot, and no delivery fee. Great meal!
Really friendly staff. The vibe of the place is really nice as well. The food is always delicious, and clearly made with attention to detail. The bowls are quite deceiving, and are VERY filling. There is variety while maintaining a message of being plant-based and environmentally conscious.
Gorgeous little gem of a place, and this comes from someone who normally doesnt love vegan food much. This place proves it can be excellent. Simple yet comfortable and nice interior, styled like an old apothecary, and gorgeous, tasty, healthy and all around great food served in a friendly environment by nice, warm and welcoming people. Absolutely try this place, its worth it. And if someone in your group says they really cant stand vegan food and need their meat fix, the Fusilli pasta with vegan protein bolognese will satisfy even them.
I am not vegan and do like meat but this here, I could eat every day of the week. So flavorful, healthy and filling. The atmosphere is cozy yet relaxed.Come here for a quick and inexpensive lunch and treat your soul. Get the chili sin carne and the tomatoe soup. The chia cookie is also very taste and not too sugary.
Even if you are not vegan or a vegetarian you need to do yourself a favor and check out Le Botaniste. As soon as I walked in the smell had me craving everything on the menu. Their food is plant based and 99% organic so as a vegetarian it was easy to choose anything I wanted. The concept is to let food be the medicine. Love the entire theme from their lab coats to their prescription theme plates. Staff was so kind and knowledgeable. Outdoor dining is available now and NYC opens indoor 25% capacity next week. Support local businesses! There are more locations but I loved our Soho experience. Highly recommend the chili sin carne and red beet caviar as well as their fresh lemonade or ice tea. Cant recommend this place enough!
Perfect place to enjoy a meal after work on a chilly day.We popped in for dinner. We took advantage of the “dinner therhappy” deal. $24 for a bowl and glass of wine after 17:00. I would recommend the vegetable tajine with a couple vegetable balls. The mushroom dish was also very hearty. They have wine and regular (not gluten free) beer in addition to lemonades, tea, coffee and kombucha. We left satisfied. I took some of my main meal to go so we could have room to sample a couple desserts. The chia mud was a super rich chocolate treat. The brownie with cashew cream was picky toddler approved. Looking forward to trying the veggie sushi and peanut butter cookie next time around. #glütensiz #glutenfreeThere are a few tall tables that seat approximately 6 people each in the main dining area. The regular height tables seat 2 people. There is also a lower eating space with short stools. In the very back there is a short wall with bench seating. It was an excellent seating option for a couple adults and a three year old. We moved the two tables together and didn’t have to worry about encroaching in to any one else’s space.
They have a fantastic assortment of vegan dishes and organic wines and beer. I tried the chili and the salad, both of which were great. They are flavorful and made with fresh ingredients, served with lots of healthy stuff like quinoa, lentils brown rice and beans.I will definitely be back for more, it is rare to find a place where you can incorporate their meals into a healthy diet plan as opposed to considering it a cheat meal.Update: I came back for more, the salads are amazing, topped with tumeric pickled onions and red cabbage slaw, I could eat them every day.I also tried the Moroccan stew with root veggies, served on a bed of quinoa, it is hearty and flavorful, everything one could want after a long day trekking across the city. This is hands down the best vegan spot I have found in the city thus far, nothing feels compromised from a lack of animal products but somehow elevated by exciting flavor and ingredient combinations.
Friendly service and fresh food! I did the make your own bowl and got pb curry, kitchen, coconut ceviche and jackfruit. The combo was delicious and so fresh! There is seating in a more well lit area and then a darker area that has plants as well. A great place to enjoy good by yourself or with friends.
As soon as you walk in you instantly smell the yummy food simmering on the stovetop. I literally just watched the bubbling goodness for a few minutes while trying to decide which route to go. The two cooks/counter people were proud in saying it’s all plant based vegan cuisine. Google has this place ranked as one of the 19 important vegan restaurants in NYC as rightfully so. It’s all about eating to live for people who also want to live to eat. Good clean vegan food is very difficult to find in a city that really pushes food that’s going to harden your arteries. They also have beverages that are conducive towards good health. It’s a amazing place and once you visit, you’ll be a repeat customer. It’s also available on Uber Eats so you can enjoy at home also. #veganfoodnyc #vegan #sankofatafari #kingofcoffeenyc #kingofmarijuananyc #lionofthebx #nyc #googlemaps #ubereats #newyorkcity
The service and food taste is good. But found a dead small bug in the broccoli...Update on their digital marketing/service: I got a reply on my review from the business asking me to reach out to them. I did so, by the end of 2 business day, I received a gift card. Thumbs up for the client care.
We had the Tibetan Mama and it was nothing but delicious. The coconut butter curry sauce was perfect for the palate. The portion size is also quite good. It came with Kimchi and that was like icing on the cake adding a good amount of tang to the dish. The restaurant seating is mainly for small groups of 3-4 and it has a cute outside seating area with sunlight penetrating roof!
Tasty very healthy fast food (serve from counter). Mostly whole foods ingredients.* pasta bolo - good, I got with veggie balls which were good. Though had kind of a funky dog food flavor at first.* mezze plate - satisfying, the jackfruit coconut curry was great* omega 3 brownie - great but a little dry inside, they asked if I wanted more of the cashew cream and I should have said yes.* apple volcano - clearly no added sugar, just tasted like apple strips in cinnamon. A fresh apple honestly probably would have been more indulgent* Tibetan mama - had this years ago but I remeber it was goodAll vegan, plant-based place!
Ordered delivery and:1. Food was delivered quickly2. Food tasted fresh, clean3. Was seasoned well/not over seasonedBut was freezing cold as it this wasn’t made hot. It really killed the experience for me. I read many reviews on seamless abt how the food was delivered cold and I’m disappointed. Place has so much potential!
Besides it being delicious, I love its vegan and gluten free. It really takes into account peoples allergies and makes it easy to choose and eat. I didnt know what to choose and they completely help me. It has different options; you can have something green and light or something more substantial. Will go every time Im near one.
This place has a simple concept beautifully executed: Delicious vibrant macro bowls with a French cafe/wine bar vibe. When you walk in you get to choose your food with your eyes. The vegetables are the stars and they have some simple yet unique combinations of purees, tartines, fermented veggies, raw and cooked greens and whole grains. Super friendly staff offered suggestions and let us sample a few of the unique combos like the green mint pea hummus and the potato bacalao. We opted for the DIY bowl so we could get a sampling but they also offer a sampler platter and a sushi small plate that comes with many of the sauces. The decor is relaxing, friendly and vibrant which perfectly matches the food and mood here. Definitely save room for a brownie, it is chocolaty, moist, light and airy, and not too sweet (like too many vegan treats). We will be back!
My latest best discovery ever in the city. Great quality, tasty and delicious food, professional quality and ingredient research, and very sweet people. This is important! Perfect hosting, you can tell they care about this small and precious business. Its a sunny healthy island in the Lexington concrete jungle. Prices super reasonable for the high quality. Im impressed and totally wicked! Love it
Le BotanisteFully vegan restaurant located in Manhattan’s upper east side with menu options and DIY as well!Food****A delightful surprise from a completely vegan restaurant that sports an eclectic menu of healthy options. We ordered the Tibetan Mama, which was a delicious curry sauce with quinoa, vegetables, and we added the “free range” tofu (haha)! The flavor was there, the texture of the tofu was perfect, and the vegetables were cooked just right. We love the humor that they inject into this quirky little restaurant designed to look like an old pharmacy! The Superseed Avocado bite hit the spot and complimented the Tibetan Mama nicely w/ a more neutral taste for the palette.Service****Friendly counter service with a very knowledgeable food preparer that informs guests of all their offerings. We were very pleased with service all around.Atmosphere****Cute, quirky, designed like an old style pharmacy and plenty of places to eat with SPACE! A god send in New York!Price$$Not the cheapest but not expensive by any means. If you’re like us you can easily split a bowl (portion sizes are hefty).
Cute restaurant, helpful servers. Small portions for how much you’re paying though. (I.e.: the tofu portion is just 4 very small cubes of tofu) The flavors are decent, not amazing. The omega-3 brownie was pretty tasty. The only item I would get again. If you’re a vegetarian I would direct you to Dig if you’re into this style of food.
Update: 4 years later and it’s still bad service. I ordered the chili bowl but the man working there clearly wasn’t into being friendly. He had no expression, no mask, and didn’t ask if I was staying or going. I don’t understand people who work in customer service but hate people. I kept trying to get his attention as he was making a chili in a washable bowl, but since he ignored me I assumed it was for someone else. I was rushing in from doctors appointments and hadn’t eaten all day. Had to rush out. I tried to say it was to go, but he just wasn’t listening. He wasn’t all that friendly to the woman in front of me who couldn’t decide. The other man there ended up making my food so I could hurry back out. I recommend the chili and the Lincoln Center location. I only go to this one because it’s near memorial Sloan Kettering and I’m there a lot. I think I’ll avoid it from now on.—————————————————————Original review:For a place that caters to certain food sensitivities, this place is not very accommodating to food sensitivities. Their menu is confusing and their ordering system is as well. I can’t get some of the bread with mushroom gravy unless I pay $7.95 (😳). It’s only for the potatoes, which I can’t eat. I was forced to get the chili as a bowl on some other stuff that cost more, but all I really wanted was a small container of chili, bread with some mushroom gravy, and a brownie that tastes like brownie. The brownie tastes like bland, dry cake. The staff are arrogant and because I was confused they didn’t really want to spend much time explaining it all to me. One woman kind of made an effort, so there’s a third star here for that. But they packed it all to go and the bowl leaked and the paper bag got wet in the rain, and it all cost so much money for not very much food.I appreciate they are vegan and gluten free friendly, but there are other food sensitivities and customers should be treated kindly when we ask for substitutes for certain things. Mushroom gravy on rice, perhaps? I managed to get chili but it had to be put on top of a bed of greens and covered in toppings I found unnecessary. What’s a girl gotta do to get a simple cup of vegan, gf chili without anything else?Note that my sensitivity is to lectin. I can’t eat most grains or potatoes. I’m also sensitive to extreme cost. I’d pay $7.95 for just a thing of chili only, but I was refused that option.I’ve eaten in this place once in the past and it wasn’t pleasant. Just a weird vibe or seating arrangement. From my point of view. I preferred eating it all on the subway.
If you ever have that feeling that healthy food is lacking in your life, Le Botaniste is the solution. I live in Queens and make the commute at least once a month to get this tasty fulfillment. I love the feeling I get after eating here! The staff is as pleasant as anyone with high customer service standards would expect. Awesome spot!
I thoroughly enjoyed everything about this place. The food was excellent, drink selection excellent, the ambience was excellent. I was alone in the city on business and felt more than comfortable eating at the counter alone. I also had the key lime pie and it was awesome. Perfect end to a perfect day in NYC.
What a gem! This place has terrific food, and a fun vibe. While you can sit down, I prefer their takeout option. Their staff is friendly and very willing to talk about all the foods. My dinner was superb and I didnt miss meat, despite being an omnivore, which is one of the biggest compliments I can give a vegan establishment.
I am not a vegan/vegetarian. Le Botaniste knows how to make vegetable to taste good. They did an amazing job to get spices right and give you a flavorful meal. Its on the pricier side, but its better than eating salad everyday. Worth a try if youre interested in including a vegetarian meal once in a while to your diet.
Enjoyed the food very much. Service very efficient, interior design welcoming, clean kitchen, food very tasty... Because of its popularity I would suggest to avoid NYC lunch hour rush! Also, I did not care for the counter/bar like seating arrangement and more tables and seating desperately needed!
Needed a quick bite to eat before work. Stopped in and was given some sound advice from a very kind, warm staff member who had asked if it was my first time. I went with her recommendation and the food is simply mouthwatering. I really wish this place well and hope its around for a long time. They got the vibe just right in the smaller, naturally lit room in the back.
Fantastic vegan /veg restaurant. Plant based menu is a favorite of the kids and parents alike. The drinks are as unique and delicious as the meals. The presentation is a great complement to the meal as well. Definitely a must visit in NYC. The staff is friendly and efficient. Go with a group so you can taste a variety of items.
Super cute & cozy! All their food is instagram able & even yummy to eat! As a vegetarian I’ve always had trouble finding a place to eat that offers such an exciting menu, with food that isn’t pretentious and actually full of flavour and health... Le Botaniste offers it all-Thank you!!
My partner and I lost track of time and the other place we had in mind for dinner had already closed - thank goodness or else we would have never discovered this gem! Beautiful all around - beautiful (cozy) space, beautiful (healthy) food, and beautiful (kind) people. We had the Tibetan mama, vegetable tajine, green peas hummus, and red fruit chia pudding - all incredible. They even offered us a sampling of their meatballs (spoiler alert: so very tasty :) Glad to have stumbled across this lovely place bringing so much goodness to the world - thank you and looking forward to coming back next time were in town/telling friends about it!
First, let me say the food was really good. I had the Tibetan bowl and it was very flavorful. The restaurant itself is quaint and cute. My only issue was the serving line was slow and checkout was a bit disorganized. Also, $15 bucks for basically a large rice bowl to-go is pretty steep even given quality of food.
The new generation/wave of vegan cuisine is absolutely stellar and this place proves it effortlessly. Wonderful entrees and delicious, quenching juices came highly recommended from a hardcore vegan friend. As an omnivore I deeply appreciate that its remarkably delicious food that beats a lot of other options even a legendary culinary hotspot like Manhattan. The staff were also extremely attentive and friendly.
This place has amazing vegan food. Instead of calling it a menu they call it prescriptions which is very unique. The vibe is so relaxing with great workers. They have also opened a second location in manhattan. The price is great for the city and the quality is unbeatable. I would call it one of the top five locations for vegan food in the city.
I am not vegan or a vegetarian however I have been twice. You get a decent serving portion and the food is tasty and there is enough variety to keep you coming. The seating is communal which has its pros and cons. The decor is very appealing and feels cozy on a rainy day. There was a 3 min wait which was fine. The personal are pleasant and took time to explain all the dishes.I find it to be on the pricy side at approx $15+tips.
I found WORMS in my food... 🐛 🐛 I was there last Friday for lunch, I got the Botanical Salad. I found worms in it, I called one of the staff member aside and I showed it to her since the restaurant was busy and I didn’t want to be rude and make a scene. I was really friendly with them. I only asked them to get my money back since I couldn’t eat my salad. They said it was ok, and then they said that they didn’t need anything from me, they just were going to refund my money back. But they never did! The worse experience ever! I don’t recommend this place, I tried to be nice with them, and I still can’t believe that I paid for a plate that I never ate and had worms in it.
My absolute favorite restaurant in the city. A great selection of vegan food, from items that are light and healthy feeling, or food that will stick to your ribs (I cant stay away from the chili!) Absolutely worth the price, for everyone. The desserts might not be everyones cup of tea, but I like them very much. Great service, wonderful ambience.
Wow! I can’t believe I’m going to say this but I love the food at this vegan restaurant (!!) Plus it’s really cute and fun inside, like something you’d find on vacation in a foreign country. The chili was proper spicy and, honestly, if I had not known it was a vegan restaurant I would not have even questioned whether there was meat in it or not. We also tried the smashed potatoes with mushroom gravy which was the bomb. Didn’t miss dairy or meat at all! The bowls are small but filling and even though they’re a little on the expensive side it’s obviously quality food. Will definitely return for more potatoes and to try the very reasonably-priced small selection of natural wines.
I again arrived in NYC to make my triumphant return to the world haberdashery expo after my 2 year suspension. Oh the cuff links I saw that day made my exile nothing more then a cruel memory. And for the first time in recent memory the vintage hat auction had not ended in violence. I was in the clouds my friends and I sought a heavenly meal. At the expo I met a Mongolian fellow who recommended La Botaniste. I was apprehensive about taking culinary advice from a man with a noticeable limp but I decided to take a chance because on this day no wrong could happen. I entered the restaurant and sat at the counter. At first I was nervous I had never been in a room with so many vegans before, but they all seemed very warm and welcoming not at all like you see on television. I ordered the lemonade and the Tajine. The lemonade was sharp like ceremonial knife and sweet like a ceremonial dance. The Tajine was both foreign and comforting like the Dutch woman my father married after the great storm. La Botaniste was indeed a heavenly end to a day spent in the clouds. 5 stars.
Probably my favorite vegan place in town. Havent explored much but this was THE BEST out of the few that Ive been to. Big bowls are more reasonably priced I find. Their small portions are a bit pricy for the amount of food. Nevertheless, everything tastes delicious!! I would recommend the store to add Avocado on their chili bowl. Their Tibetan Mama is 💯 excellent!! Really enjoyed it.

2022-06-29Okay. I guess I’m going to have to try all Le Botaniste locations. I tried the Lincoln Center location first, now this one. Consistently good! We had the Tibetan Mama (again), Pasta Bolo, and their house-made lemonade. All very good, felt full, satisfied but not weighed down. Staff is chill and attentive. Location itself is chic, totally different experience than Lincoln Center. There is street seating, tables upfront and in the back.

2022-07-07The food was so bad 😭 staff was super nice and helpful but I literally tried al the bowls and it was awful, such a waste of money. I have to say I’m not vegan or vegetarian but I’ve had good vegan food- this was just different versions of mush and not well flavored. Wine was pretty good. Sushi was also disgusting and the desserts were barely edible as well. Also none of the seats have backs which is annoying.

2022-01-17Great hangout place!!! All vegetarian, but it is flavorful and delicious. It is also affordable compared to other Vegetarian restaurants in nycHighly recommended to Try the Moroccan stew with quinoa or cauliflower rice. The miss soup noodle is not badA fun hangout place for dating and group hangout
