Damages on the wall and floor in a renovated king suite. Light bulb broken, shower leaking. Slow service, had to ask 2 times for another pillow and a water kettle. At breakfast the toaster was broken and next day fixed by adding a post in that said: do not use. Certainly not the luxury brand experience. When i gave this feedback internally noone replied.
Well how do I start , so far a very pleasant experience we have multiple rooms. 1 is a suite 37k a night for starters... servers are the best, extremely friendly , fine dinning and room service staff especially the midnight bits where pleasant and definitely good working ppl. Thx u chris , believe me over 4 weeks here and we bent all the rules and not once this hotel complain to us which we r so grateful for and quite impressed.. security always patrolling which made us feel extremely safe and engineers spot on and readily available when needed , also give major credit when due ppl. Management made sure we where comfortable as well as the other gusts on our floor .. I witnessed with my own eyes very upbeat trendy and young at heart hotel .. like the experience and where they are heading we all will return.. ps keep in mind with todays world constantly changing challenges this hotel has displayed the highest level of quality with these trying times ... yet maintain some form of normalcy and you not feel the impact, my top hat off to you all and thx u for an exceptional experience... and yes 5 stars 🌟 rating.. ps keep in mind when u go to an upscale place there will always be a hiccups along the way... with gust. Best to all Peace to world 🌎
Came back to the hotel which told me I gonna get vip treatment butNo treatment at all, rooms super dusty, asked for assistance, had to follow up twice, even after follow up no action on hair dryer, last time I come here.As a Marriott gold elite you find better hotels in the are, not recommended and sad to see how much the hotel changed in only few month!!
Our stay here wasn’t without hiccups, but the team at the Hotel went more than the extra mile to make sure we were taken care and made to feel more than comfortable.I cannot say enough the team for their professionalism and courtesy.Big thanks for Eunique and Johnathan
Nice hotel, friendly staff but even though we were asked to wear masks and produce proof of vaccination, the staff were often without masks. We saw this with the breakfast staff and with managers on duty. The breakfast staff were unprofessional. Not sure if they have a uniform but I’m not used to being greeted by an employee wearing a hoodie with the hood on.
Filthy carpet, stained couch, unimaginably small, gloomy room with fluorescent lights (it was a suite, so i can’t imagine how small the non-suites would be!) It’s impossible to get hold of the front desk - i expect more from a hotel at this price point. You can find plethora of alternative options at this price point. Go somewhere else.
Our stay was wonderful, the room was clean and the bed and pillows were comfortable. The bathroom was super clean and well equipped. Every staff member was polite and went out of their way to help us out. The only down side was that the restaurant was closed as well as the health club and the roof top bar closed early Sunday morning were the free breakfast was being served. Over all, a great place to stay!
I would like to preface this commentary by stating that COVID-19 has decimated the workforce, not to mention the hospitality industry as a whole. I empathize with the staff and management of Le Meridien. That said, the following should be noted:1) Our first rooms AC was broken beyond a quick fix. It was 82 degrees that day. Management graciously moved us but only after we called four times, and asked ourselves to be moved. We missed a ticketed event while waiting for the doorman to come give us keys to the new room.2) Our second room was missing the TV remote, the bathroom fan would not shut off, and the tube light above the sink was burnt out. I used the still functional key from our first room to borrow the remote after waiting for engineering for half an hour. The fan and lights were never reported. Thankfully, the door closed so we didnt hear the fan all night long.3) The toilet paper holder literally fell off the wall when my husband accidentally bumped it mid-wipe.4) The feather pillows are unmercifully thin, and should probably be replaced.5) The Illy espresso maker did not have any pods.6) The much-touted rooftop view was closed off during Sunday breakfast for a private event to be held that afternoon. I imagine this was so staff could sanitize it properly and keep it sanitized until the party. However, it was still irritating in light of everything else.Overall the hotel is beautiful. The location is great. Sunam (the person who checked us in) was gracious and prompt. However, the rate I paid for the discomfort experienced is disproportionate. Its clear there is still a distance to go before fully operational. Thus, I can only recommend this hotel with extreme reservation at this time.
Ive stayed at many hotels in NY and Le Méridien is by far the best. The staff goes above and beyond any hotel Ive stayed in. Rooms are a little cozy but space is used extremely well. Its clean, quiet and the views from the rooms that face Central Park are exceptional. The location cant be beat - particularly if you are a theater goer. Its near all the subways so easy to navigate quickly throughout the city. The breakfast, with the ability to sit outdoors on a rooftop terrace is excellent and complimentary! Again, you wont find this anywhere else in that setting. I used the gym one day and had it to myself. Equipment was immaculately clean and plentiful. Again, I cant imagine staying anywhere else.
Fantastic hotel and we would absolutely stay again! This past trip was our first time staying here. I’d booked online through Marriott and specifically booked one of newly renovated rooms as I’d read some negative reviews of the older ones. While they weren’t able to offer us a room with a view, we did have a high floor and things were perfectly quiet, which was nice. Our bed was firm and lower to the ground. The heat and AC worked well. I loved the tile bathroom. We had all the amenities we needed including a safe and refrigerator. Ans of course everything was clean and very nice. This is a hotel where you have to scan your room card in the elevator to select your floor. So you need to remember this even if you’re just running up to the roof to grab breakfast to bring back to the room.Although I would recommend eating breakfast up at the rooftop restaurant where it it served as the view is particularly beautiful in the morning. And otherwise food isn’t available up there until they open again at 4p. I will point out that by 9p or later, this area turns into a club with very loud music and young people dancing. The older generation, myself included, might not have anticipated that when dropping by for a snack before bed. We tried their fries and they were fine. I’m not a fan of thick cut fries, so I probably wouldn’t get them again. However, they were deliciously seasoned and came with a really nice garlic mayonnaise. The doorman here was always on top of his job and greeted us with a smile. And at check out when we opted to keep our luggage at the hotel while we continued to explore, the gentleman who helped us was particularly professional and kind.We will return! Hopefully soon!
This section of my review is required and I’ve spent a while giving feedback that I’m not going to not complete it. I actually started this review positive about the hotel. Now having to go through all the questions s that remind me how the stay was… only doing the review because I had 3 emails asking for a review. Ran out of food and coffee in the morning. Front of hotel under construction. Staff ok… guessed it was just standard New York. Nice refurbishment job. Great location. Nice view for breakfast (just no coffee).
The rooms are incredibly small. It is NOTHING like the old Parker Meridian that used to be here. Our room had no shampoo or water or coffee. You have to call down for everything but they don’t stock it at the front desk. There are only two old - VERY SMALL - elevators that service the entire hotel 25 floors plus basement and rooftop. Will never stay again
I arrived in New York, thinking I had a room at the Parker Merdien (where I have stayed many times over the years, but which is now closed). The Le Meridien Central Parks website did not make that clear, and adding to the confusion is the fact that it is located immediately next door to the former Parker Meridien Hotel. This is a boutique hotel with tiny rooms and absolutely NO amenities - not even an adjacent restaurant. They claim to have a breakfast buffet, but I never got to experience that because in spite of being given tickets for a breakfast buffet, I could not access the roof where it was supposedly served because it was closed for a private event - something I clearly could have been told when I checked in - instead of being issued the tickets. It is also way overpriced - I found it priced like the Parker, but without any rationale for that - no restaurants, no room service and tiny rooms instead of the former Parkers spacious suite rooms and fabulous restaurants and room service.
My husband and I stayed at Le Méridien to celebrate our wedding. We had our wedding ceremony on September 18th in Central Park. We wanted to stay somewhere that was walking distance to the park. Being close to most department stores and shopping was a plus. We did have a few hiccups during our stay which is why I gave our stay a 7. The first issue was that we didn’t have a privacy sign. We requested one and was never given it. The small fridge that was in the room didn’t close properly. And lastly, we had an issue with the air conditioning in the room. When we arrived the air was fine. The room was pretty cool and we didn’t think much of it. We left and walked around the city getting some last minute errands done. When we came back the first night we noticed it was a little warmer from when we arrived. The following day was our wedding day and again we left for a few hours before getting ready for our big day. When we came back to the room, the room was significantly warmer. Again, we didn’t think much of it. My husband tried putting the air down, but the room stayed at a solid 78 degrees. We left, got married and headed back to the room. When we got back I asked the front desk for a privacy sign and mentioned to them that the air conditioning wasn’t working. They ended up having someone come and look at the air conditioning unit and when he opened up the filter it was FILTHY! It looked like it has literal fur. He took the filter and the whole air conditioning unit and told us that it would take 30 minutes to fix. Once he installed a new AC unit and clean filter he told us to wait a few minutes and the room should cool down. The temperature almost immediately started going down. It was unfortunate that we had to get ready for our wedding in such a hot room. On the bright side we had a beautiful view of Central Park.
This is the least enjoyable stay we ever had in what is supposed to be a “high end” hotel. The lobby looks like a hallway, the rooms are definitely too small and with almost no amenities. A great tv, but only basic channels, no HBO, etc.. No coffee machine easily usable (il you want to make coffee you have to call the reception desk, and with some luck you’ll get it later). We asked for glasses or cups to be brought up (there are none when one checks in), never got one. There was only one doorman to help with car parking and luggage carrying when we arrived.Thankfully, the bed was comfortable and we still enjoyed a good night of sleep, which we could probably have had in a much more affordable place. The receptionists were absolutely very nice and welcoming.
I have stayed at numerous Le Meridiens, including this one many times, but this was the most disappointing stay ever. I had a sub-par check in experience on Friday afternoon. The front desk attendant was not friendly, never smiled, and did not even acknowledged my Gold status. The housekeeping was also lacking. I had a bath towel that was visibly ripped in two places and a hand towel that was dirty. They also didnt replenish the toiletries either of the days they made up the room. And I dont understand why I had to call and request water every day. If housekeeping is making up the room, why cant they just replace the bottled water too? It was also disappointing that there was no room service or even coffee in the lobby. I had to either go out or order coffee every day for the three days I stayed at the hotel. They could have at least offered a credit to offset the cost. With all the other Marriott options in New York, will definitely think twice before staying at Le Meridien Central Park again.
I wish I could give this hotel a negative review. Our first room smelt like urine, so we asked to be changed to another room. Our second room had a thumbtack placed perfectly in the middle of the bed. Management shrugged and told us that a cleaning lady could have dropped it... and that all they could offer us was a free breakfast voucher... as we were preparing to leave we check all the nooks and crannies for our stuff AND FIND A MANS DIRTY UNDERWEAR IN OUR ROOM!! 🤢🤢 We are young (female) travelers and the management never took us seriously... A manager wouldn’t even come down to speak to us when we told them about the underwear. We left our number after waiting in the lobby for a while and are still awaiting communication from a manager days after checking out.Update on top of everything we were charged an extra 200 dollar cleaning fee!! Absolutely ridiculous!
This hotel which I think many including myself thought was the old Parker meridian is not. It isn’t the same building or anything. The rooms are small and not kept up. Carpet was separating from the walls. The lights dusty, the brass looked old and like it hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. While the bed was comfy it was very low to the ground for a bed. No amenities, door stopper was pulled out of the floor, the shower rob holder was falling off the wall. For a tier 7 we were extremely disappointed. It’s more like a tier 2 then a 7. The staff was hit or miss, most were in there own world and didn’t even bother to greet you. No one came to help with luggage until I went to find someone and even then it was just left in the lobby until I got it.
This hotel is filthy. Like you’d expect of the NJ Turnpike for $40 one star (at most) filthy. There is old food, a water bottle, receipts and other trash under the fold out sofa. I requested it be cleaned at 11am. Called at 5:30pm when I returned to my room and it hadn’t been cleaned. The gentleman at the front desk said he’d go directly to the manager since housekeeping hadn’t fulfilled the request; still waiting for any communication from the manager. Piles of brown/grey dirt in the corners of the navy carpet are just gross. Two elevators serve the entire 28 floor hotel. No shampoo, coffee, water or irons in rooms. You’re told to “call down” for everything. Seriously? Just put it in the room so the guests don’t have to constantly call down and wait for an hour or more. The towels feel like sandpaper and look like a cat attacked them. All for over $500/night. I can’t imagine why Le Meridien or Marriott would allow their brand to be associated with these conditions. Brand suicide and guaranteed loss of future business, including mine.
We stayed at LeMeridien November 6-7, 2021. The stay was not good. Several reasons that I do not care to reiterate as we have been in touch with the hotel for over a month. The response to our initial communication was I have credited the amount of points you used for the one nights stay back to your account. We have lifetime platinum elite status and titanium elite for 2021 with Bonvoy. The points were never credited after numerous inquiries and the opérations manager claims we were never promised the entire stay, rather 10% of the points used, even when we showed the email. We have remained hopeful someone at the hotel would at least have the dignity to do what was promised to correct an already bad situation. Insult to injury.
Great location. Our AC broke and the staff changed our room in the middle of the night. The repair staff and front desk could not have handled this better. As of Aug. 1, 2021 still no coffee in the lobby or breakfast available at this hotel, which was very disappointing. This is the main reason we choose to stay at this hotel versus a non Marriott property. The 1,000 points option instead of breakfast is not a fair compensation in my opinion.
Wonderful hotel in a great location - convenient to Central Park, museums and the subway. Staff was very helpful and prompt with all requests. The room had a fantastic view of the park. We didnt have any room service or dining at the hotel. My only suggestion would be to dedicate some resources to touching up the hotel, there were a few places where it was looking a little worn. Overall though we had a great stay and we will be back this Fall.
Ive loved Le Meridien in the past, and Ive even recommended this hotel to several friends and family members (some of whom have even already stayed here per my recommendation!). But when I returned after loving this hotel so much on a prior visit, the service was awful. My room wasnt cleaned to allow me to check in until 10:45pm at night when I had to be up to leave at 6am the following morning. Front desk said that certain accommodations would be made, and throughout the course of a few hours, they constantly fell short. When I called to inquire after my stay, I got the same I-dont-care attitudeIts a beautiful hotel in a beautiful location, but service like this has made it a place I sincerely doubt i will ever stay at again.
Le Meridien is a lovely, classic hotel, with a friendly staff & nice rooms. The hotel is in an extremely convenient location, with easy access to fabulous shopping, wonderful restaurants & transportation. We plan to return ASAP!I gave Dining a “Good” rating only because we didn’t have any meals there, due to our schedule. It’s nice to have that option at the hotel, especially during this post-Covid era.
So happy to be back in the city! As my previously preferred Bonvoy property has closed due to the pandemic, I was in search for a new place to stay. Le Meridien fit all my criteria - great location for my business needs, affordable rates, and decent reviews online. One thing that upsetting is that the food and beverage offer (or lack thereof!) was miscommunicated both in email correspondence and on the website. I greatly appreciated that the fitness center was open. All interactions I had with the staff were pleasant.
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had a suite with a park view what did not disappoint. The room was spacious and the separate living room allowed each of us to move at our own pace and enjoy the view while the other was in bed. Requests were met in a prompt manner and the staff was always cheerful. The location was great to enjoy Central Park and other nearby neighborhoods. Access to two subway lines allowed us to easily get to farther corners of the city. We would certainly come back for another stay.
Staff was very nice, cafe in the lobby had great coffee/bakery but the room! was the equivalent of a roadside motel. Everything is old, there were water stains on the furniture, carpet was separating from the wall and the pillows were so bad, when you put your head down, it would separate and your head ends up on the mattress. For the price tag and competition around, they need to step their game up. Go for the rooftop bar or bakery, skip the stay.
My wife and I had stay 2 nights at this hotel what they say view on central park , that mean view on building and a bit a tree , we pay almost $800 to stay there and we have to pay the breakfast unacceptable ,for the quality of sleeping its way over priced , espresso machine in the room not working , good fridge but empty , only 1 bottle of water for two , noisy exhaust fan in the washroom working 24/7h , we been traveling around the world and we never experience this kind of service and for hotel cheaper than them
This used to be our favorite NYC hotel. It is now a one star spot to be avoided . The new lobby is the size of a sofa or two. We never saw anyone actually man the concierge station...just a huge messy pile of unopened cartons there. Then the next door room began ringing out with a barking dog...yup. Their policy is that any dog any size is welcome to be left unattended in a hotel room. No business center. No dresser In our room to store clothes though there was a fridge. The cushioned fainting coach was torn in multiple places. We asked to pay to upgrade into a suite and the desk never called us back. When we followed up they had no room. The location near Carnegie Hall is still wonderful but there are plenty of hotels in the area. So disappointing to see a great hotel have its name used for this disaster.
The location was perfect. The room was also very clean and aesthetically appealing. My only complaint is that we asked for a change of bedding and we were told that they are only changed every 3 days. We were able to call again and ask for them to just drop everything off so that we could change them ourselves, and they dropped off a set of 2 sheets without a bottom sheet and no comforter. For the money we paid for the room, we expected that we could have gotten the bedding changed. Due to COVID, all restaurants and food/other services are closed which was also a bummer. Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay. Oh! Side note - there is no conditioner supplied. There is only shampoo, body wash and body lotion. For any other long-haired ladies, make sure to pack that!
My husband I had a one night staycation for his 40th. The hotel was spotless, COVID-conscious, and in a great location. The front desk agent was friendly although he wasnt able to accommodate our room type request. It would have been helpful to know I could have asked for a certain type 24 hrs before check-in. Secondly, dining is still closed which was a bummer. However, La Grande Boucherie, a nearby French restaurant, satiated our hunger. All in all, staff were friendly and I wouldnt hesitate to stay here again.
This hotel has an excellent location. Most amenities were closed or severely limited due to Covid. The lack of available room service was a bit of a downer. The staff is friendly and accommodating. We look forward to visiting again when the hotel is fully opened post Covid. This hotel represents a tremendous value compared to similar tiered hotels nearby.
Went into the city for our first kid-free night in over a year. Le Meridien Central Park was a perfect location near restaurants, the park, and multiple subway lines. Felitta (spelling?) at the front desk was super helpful, offering us a late checkout as well as an upgraded room with a terrace! We had a wonderful and relaxing time.
This centrally located property has stellar service and rooms to matchPlenty of storage, huge tv, nice working desk , good wifi, beautiful bathroom, roof top bar.We were very happy with our stay snd will choose this spot again. Thank you to Chris a concierge that helped me with a lost item
It was a nice stay, and easy to book another night when we asked on a Sunday morning! The staff was very accommodating and easy to communicate with when we had a few needs throughout our stay. The location is great, close to plenty of tourist attractions if thats what youre looking for! I would stay again but give four stars for a few inconveniences along our stay- no towels in room and Bon Voy issues like no mobile room key even after providing my ID at front desk, no room ready notifications even though I had confirmed an early check-in (ended up not checking in until after their standard check-in time since I received nothing about our room actually being ready early), accomodations highlighted on account profile werent necessarily provided (just extra pillows 😅).Id recommend using Parker New York Valet Garage by SP+ parking which is just around the block on W 56th. When you stay at the Le Meridien you can get parking validation at that garage for $40/night or book on SpotHero for ~$37/ night.
My wife and I had a wonderful stay! We had a King room with the central park view and it was absolutely gorgeous....The room/bathroom were updated and very nice. Walkable to 2 subway stations and the park was only 2 (short) blocks away. We will absolutely be staying again soon.
I like the Le Meridien brand, but this hotel was a little underwhelming. The rooms seemed like they needed an update, air conditioner was really loud, hallways were a little weathered. We werent given some pretty key information until the night before out stay (housekeeping service, F&B all closed) so that was a little disappointing. Location of the hotel was good though.
After reading all the reviews I was nearly scared off. Wow, was I glad I wasnt. Checkin was super quick. Was upgraded to Park Suite room and didnt even ask. Had a great room, 2 separate rooms, one living room with couch and 4 chairs, desk and bar with floor to ceiling windows over looking Central Park. Same window in bedroom, very comfortable bed, amazing and large bathroom. The service was great, had a bottle of wine and snacks on our bar with a card from management wishing me a Happy Belated Birthday (my birthday was over a month before), Restaurant downstairs is great for breakfast, also has a really nice bar, and the roof top bar is well. Staff was super helpful and guy cleaning our room would just ask what time we wanted him to come ad come that time every day.I thought the hotel was very clean. The lobby is small, but does have a few couches and is more of a European feel. The check i was super fast and all of the staff was very helpful. This hotel is a must stay for NYC and I cant thank the staff enough for making me feel like a VIP even though I had not called ahead or requested any kind of upgrade. Highly recommend this hotel. In closing, Im very picky, stay at a lot of hotels, am the first to give a bad review and was pleasantly surprised with this amazing stay.
The Front desk person on 12/22/2021 at 1030 by the name of VJ. Was Very disrespectful And unprofessional! He asked for my last name I handed him my drivers license, he quickly said do you have a problem with telling me your last name. I said it’s on the drivers license you can quickly reference it . I figured he needs my License and credit card for check in. He became very aggressive and rudely was accusing that I didn’t want to give him my last name when I handed him my drivers license. And since my last name cannot be spelled If I pronounced it I thought it would be easier for him. Than Bellman shows up asked for my name. Then VJ again continues to be a smart alec saying don’t ask him for his last name let’s not do that. I happily gave the Bellman my last name.It did not stop there! On the way out he continued to sarcastically say will see you at check in at 4 PM with a vindictive attitude and an unprofessional response.
This is a very nice hotel. They need to work on communication, services, etc. The king size room feels small. The hotel lacks communication and information that should be provided. They charge for incidentals and can’t provide the services. The manager needs help improve his customer service skills.
Had a terrible experience at this property that used to be one of our favorites a few years back. Extremely disappointing service. No valet parking available anymore, no bellman available for more than 30 minutes to take the luggage from our car which was then only partially taken by the front desk person. No parking available at the off site designated garage. No upgrades for platinum elite members, the rooms are iso small that there is barely place to walk between the bed and the walls on either side. Having stayed at this property before, it seems during the renovation, they have just created two rooms out of one. The hallways are very small and barely one person with a bag can move at one time..Does NOT measure up to the Mariott standards for Le Meredian hotels. The only good thing is the location. Staff is as on and the manager does not bother to get back even after leaving a message. Definitely not recommended considering there are so much better options in NUc for the room at this price point of $ 300 and upwards per night. Stay Away.
Everyone was super friendly & I loved that. My first time visiting them was 2020 my hospital place me there for one night until my room was ready at a different location. I remember that one night, everyone was nice. So i told myself i would return again. Full circle one year later i came back. They tried their best. I showed them respect and they reciprocated that back and I appreciated it. I’ll be back to that specific location.
I’m a neighbor living one block away. these idiots have loud concerts on the rooftop at night! i simply can’t sleep because it’s ridiculously loud. it is 1am now. i called them and the hotel manager told me that they can’t do anything about it. i also filed a noise report with NYC police so hopethat would sober them up.
Myself and my husband decided to do an overnight at Le Méridien for Valentines weekend. The staff were super friendly and accommodating to all our needs, including providing us with a room that had a tub and sending some bathrobes up to us via room service! The hotel itself was also beautiful and impeccably clean which was very comforting during these Covid times. Its also in a great location as there are plenty of landmarks nearby as well as lots of shops/places to eat too. Overall we had a really great experience and would recommend Le Méridien to everyone!
The absence of any room service was disappointing and the information about it was misleading. I was told coffee could be brought to my room in the morning; in the morning i was told they could only bring espresso powder. I asked about tea; that was problematic but they eventually found some Lipton bags. And a water heater, survived with my own instant coffer. There was no hotel guest information in the drawers. And I had to have an engineer sent up to explain the tv commands. These parts of the stay were unfortunate, given that in general it was an amazingly lovely place to stay - room, lobby, and location. The wood room decor is so unique - almost made me forget about room service issues.
No coffee, no water, no refreshments. TINY rooms offer no privacy. Guests using the room next to us as a recording studio, effectively helped to downgrade our room. Add $50 for parking, there is literally no reason to stay at this hotel unless you’re looking for the proximity to South Central Park. There are dozens of better Marriott options in the area.
His was unfortunately a little disappointing. I booked one night with my partner for a romantic staycation and found this hotel to be understaffed, noisy, cold, and overpriced for the value. We weren’t able to check in until an hour and a half past the given time, and the lobby was packed with teenagers in sweatpants and Uggs and waiting guests crowding the couches without nowhere to wait out the delay due to the cold. When we went up finally, we were next to a room blasting club music, which continued for hours. There wasn’t room service of course, I knew not to expect that during covid, but there wasn’t even a glass to drink from or two robes. The room was freezing and the thermostat didn’t work, the park view I paid for was of rooftop ventilation systems. Bed was comfy, shower was hot, but this was not worth the money and wasn’t the right hotel for a romantic stay. Maybe the change in ownership? Not what I remember from years ago.
Great location, very convenient for everything South Central Park, Columbus Circle, Carnegie Hall, etc. Very clean hotel, efficient check-in. Budget level hotel, do not expect anything luxurious. Some of the current pandemics practices:1. The housekeeping is provided only on the 3rd day of your stay2. The restaurant on premises is still closed and so is the rooftop bar.3. The elevators are limited to one family per ride. However, that didnt create any wait, probably due to the present low occupancy rates. We didnt particularly like the 4 PM check-in, which effectively limits your stay to 19 hours only. Neither did we liked the fact that our Marriott app mobile key arrived 16 minutes following our actual check-in, but these shouldnt be held against the hotel, but rather the corporate practices.Probably the smallest (the most narrow) windows of any NYC hotel we stayed at (and we stayed in dozens of them), so despite our high 17th floor the view was non-existant.
Not at all like the old parker le meridian. The hotel is the old Hyatt property that used to next door and is really now just a small lobby with rooms above. Nothing special and no character and zero amenities. Looks like the hotel may attach to a small bar that should eventually open when Covid ends but it certainly is not anything special. Also, there is no entrance on 56th street and no parking or valet service at the actual hotel entrance and the garage is around the corner a block away which was painful to find and get you car parked.
We ended up extending our trip for a couple extra days for work and everyone was so accommodating. We also ordered food to the hotel every morning and at night because of the pandemic and sometimes the employees would bring our food up to the room for us. Everyone was so nice. Def would stay again. Thank you Le Meridien!
I booked this for a business trip as I used to stay at the Parker Meridien hotel . Upon arrival I realized it was a different hotel confusingly across the street from the one I used to stay at which has now been purchased by Hyatt and will be turned into condos . The hotel stay was fine and a typical boutique NYC hotel with few amenities (no gym and no restaurant) and rooms were fine and typical closet size NYC hotels . Location near Central Park is key and good value for money .
This hotel is a joke. They will try to over charge you so make sure you check your credit card accounts. Here is the story - I just moved out of my apartment in Harlem and decided to stay here. I left an old bag to be thrown away then they decided to charge me for another night because they considered the room occupied. This doesn’t make sense because I checked out with the front desk clerk. Consider another hotel with better service if you can. This situation was so egregious that I had to leave a review.
Didn’t even stay here and I’m already not happy. We received an email from someone named Louis or Louie after a confirmation of an upgrade using our suite night awards that they cannot honor it. This happened to us multiple times. I have over 10 suite night awards that I have never been able to use. The guy didn’t even respond to our email. I guess our loyalty doesn’t mean much. Moving on to better accommodations.
The hotel is ideally located and The Roof is awesome and service was amazing. The rooms, the halls to the rooms and the bathrooms were old warn out, not old or historic. The carpets were coming apart, the over abundance of wood in the rooms was damaged and looked fashionable maybe in the 1980’s and wasn’t taken care ever after the install. The bathrooms have nice layout but all of the materials were weathered but not in a good way. With so many other choices in the city that have a clean and well kept feel, no need for me to come back except to have beverages on the roof.
Very loud music on the rooftop of the hotel at 1 am… I’m trying to sleep but here’s a band playing very loudly on the rooftop of the hotel, which no one has informed me in advance about. Otherwise would never have chosen this hotel.Spent couple hundred dollars for a sleepless night.
We stayed at Le Meridien at Xmas time as part of a package deal including flights to and from the Netherlands. The hotel is very conveniently situated in midtown Manhattan and close to several subway stations and Central Park. Our room was not very large but adequate to our (2 persons) needs. The interior design is charming with wrought-iron mirrors, messing rain-shower, nice tiling. Charming little Illy coffee machine with complimentary coffee capsules. As our neighbour was very noisy and clearly very drunk, shouting aggressively, we did not get a lot of sleep the first night, but the staff reacted to this promptly and adequately by sending someone up to deal with the matter. The next day we were allocated to another room, the staff being solution focussed, Our luggage was relocated while we were roaming NYC.Staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean; we had a nice view from the 19th floor. As we did not eat in the hotel, I cannot comment on that, There is a nice bar on the top floor with a great view. As anywhere else in NYC, the bar was very expensive ( a beer for $9, glass of wine $12, small platter of nachos chips with small bowl of (good) guacamole $22). Prices in NYC are through the roof and this may make us rethink a future visit, but we would recommend Le Meridien to anybody who is planning to visit Manhattan.
Not the hotel to stay at if you want a relaxing little get away. The walls are paper thin and I heard partying and vomiting all night, was horrific. I checked out the next morning. Was the worst start to a relaxing weekend, post covid vaccination, to be with friends and just unwind. Was a truly awful experience.
I took my daughter to New York for her 16th birthday and we stayed at Le Meridien. Out goal was to attend shows, shop, and do some general sightseeing. The rooms were small (but hey - thats New York). This hotel was a great choice. It was located to all of the things we wanted to do and she was impressed with hotels elegance. Service was also great. My daughter was very sick when we arrived a little early. They gave us a room quickly. She recovered and we had a great trip.
King size bed left me with little room to walk in the room. The hotel dining was closed for covid so I can’t grade them on that. I do hate when receptionist makes you ask for the WiFi info. Especially since the rooms in the back of the building don’t get good fell reception. If you get room 2010, ask for another room.
One week prior to arrival to celebrate our 25th Wedding anniversary we received an email advising us the reservation was cancelled as the hotel is closing and we will receive no penalty? NYC has many Marriott options and at the last minute that is the email received? While I recognize the pandemic impact on travel and tourism I would expect a more professional response and a better plan B accommodation than this especially at the last minute. We did find another Marriott Hotel to stay at on our own. The service we received was a last minute cancel letting us know our good news is that we will not be charged for services that were not provided? Disappointing.
Stay was not pleasant, customer service was hard to get in touch with, there was a smell of marijuana in the building, and cleaning protocols led to loud midnight cleanings in adjacent rooms that kept us up. I understand that the pandemic has caused hotels to change their protocols, but Ive stayed at other hotels that did not have this many issues.
My husband surprised me with a night here last week. Stayed in room 2207. They were having a sale on their suites. We experienced a contactless check-in into our room. The suites are a great size. Very spacious with a warm modern decor. The room was thoughtfully renovated keeping an illustrious vintage feel. The bathroom was truly luxurious showcasing marble floors and tiles, stand in shower with its on view of the city. The bedroom featured a floor to sealing windows and the coziest King size bed.The rooftop views of Central Park and beyond amazing. You really get that Im staying in NYC feeling here. The walking proximity to the park itself as well as other many great New York staples like Carnegie Hall, Radio City Music Hall, Rockefeller Center, Lincoln Center makes place an excellent choice. If looking for a quarantine staycation, this 5 star hotel fits the bill.
Had to wait 30+ minutes while front desk figuring out booking trouble with Chase. The front desk should have allowed us in before asking me to forward my booking confirmation email to her manager to revise and verify while leaving us for 30 minutes in the lobby. Seemed a lot unprofessional. Later the sink also broke in the night, rather small inconvenience though, since we are staying only one night.
The location is terrific. Minutes from time square for seeing shows and also from Central Park and shopping. My only complaint about this hotel was that my room was very dark. I had do use a flashlight to see inside my suitcase. Bathroom is pretty dated but the bed was very comfortable and more than adequate. Lobby is CHIC and staff was helpful. Breakfast option would have been nice I just went next-door to the Parker.
Had to make a trip to NYC to look at neighborhoods for a potential move. This place was very nice, clean, and the staff was great. The location is super close to Central Park and a few feet from the subway. I would definitely stay again. Hopefully the prices stay low :-)
The hotel was described with Central Park views but that was only because of the high floor we were on . We were actually a NY block away from Central Park with a view of trees . The bed was extremely uncomfortable and close to the floor with broken sink in living area. With a room in the Central Park area and the price that we paid , I expect more. The hotel didn’t mention there restaurant was closed and simply had a lot of limitations for this hotel.
On our first family escape since Covid devastated the world, we were all not quite sure what to expect at Le Meridien and in NYC in general. While obviously different than the Big Apple prior to the pandemic, we were all pleasantly surprised in all regards. Le Meridien staff was most accommodating and adhered to safety protocols in a manner that was most reassuring and comforting. We look forward to returning soon, believing that as time marches on and restrictions are eased, the new normal will draw us back for more good times ahead.
I had a horrible experience and was staying in their supposedly nicest suite, the Central Park 1 bedroom suite on the 25th floor. The view is indeed nice, but the room in itself, although large, is very dated, the furniture is pretty beat up and the lighting is poor. This feels like an old grandmother’s apartment, stuck in time. The bathroom is OK, double vanity which is nice. The bed is not very comfortable, mainly because the mattress is old. The internet is slow and the TV doesn’t connect to your phone as advertised. The photos on their website are totally misleading, this is not a 5 star property. It’s a solid 3 star.
My husband, son and I went into the city to meet with some friends and at the last minute got a room here. The staff were very nice and friendly. Loved that there was so much space in the room and bathroom. Nice layout. Overall a great experience. Went to the roof deck for drinks but it was raining so no view really so we decided not to stay but next time for sure.
Our reservation was cancelled 1 week prior to arrival with no credit given to an alternative stay. We had 3 packages sent to the hotel because no one had informed us that the hotel was closed. The hotel lost 2 of our 3 packages and the 3rd one was given to us opened up. We do not know who opened our package. It took us 30 minutes of waiting to receive our package after having told the hotel we were coming at a certain time to pick the package up. Overall an unpleasant and unprofessional experience. We expected better from the Marriott brand.
Wonderful hotel in a GREAT location, cant beat being 2 blocks from the park! Stayed for one night in a park view one-bedroom suite. Got a great AAA rate. The suite was a great art deco style, spacious, and well appointed. The view was fantastic, really showed off NYC. Very comfortable bed. The staff were friendly and responsive, which is not a given at every NYC hotel. I travel several times per year for leisure and business and would not hesitate to stay again.
Stayed here for work. Front desk was great, I called ahead for early check in and had no issues. Room was super cute. Restaurant downstairs was pretty decent. Lobster benedict a little underseasoned. Roof bar creates some elevator traffic. Server was a little off - but management made up for it.
The pictures of the rooms are not the same as what you get. The rooms are dark and need an upgrade, chips in the wood, lack of plugs. Our room had a terrible alley view even though it said online we’d have a park view. Staff was not helpful and wouldn’t change our room and made us feel belittled and stupid for asking. Said they was no record of us upgrading our room and dismissed us quickly leaving us feeling embarrassed. Perhaps this hotel is great for a business trip, but not a romantic weekend away.
This hotel was in an amazing area!! It was close enough to the high traffic areas to walk, but far enough away that you don’t feel like you get run over coming out of the hotel. Central Park being right there was so awesome!! The only downside was a personal preference. I hate a rainfall shower head, and this bathroom had one. The shower also didn’t have a door, which I didn’t like... but that wouldn’t stop me from staying there again!! The room is small, but nicely decorated and the bed is super comfy!!
No door man ,no bell man to take our luggage to our suite no room service,no restaurant, no house keeping unless you ask for it,we had to ask every day for towels etc..and even when we asked they missed one day,the suite was small was worn out, broken lights, broken door lock also no amenities other than a bar of soap, shampoo and conditioner and we paid over $550 per nightSTAY AWAY!bellman when we arrived 11:30p.m.
Both a modern masterpiece and a work of art, the Le Meridien New York Central Park has been styled to capture the glamorous era of 1920s New York. Expect leather Chesterfield sofas to lounge on and gorgeous lucky vintage shop finds, all of which lend character and atmosphere to this already iconic residence. From the luxury of your room – reminiscent of a cabin room on a seafaring liner – you’ll enjoy bird’s-eye views of Central Park as well as the surrounding city. In fact, you’re well placed to explore all the sights, including the world-famous Tiffany & Co, just a stone’s throw away. There are shops, bars and restaurants galore on your doorstep but the hotel’s The Roof is most definitely a place to see and be seen in. As well as boasting more of those gorgeous views we’ve been raving about, it has a very happening vibe plus the most exciting cocktails on the block. On the street level is Kingside Restaurant, another great place to relax, this time over the finest New American cuisine.
The Le Meridien is a well positioned hotel near Central Park. The hallways are narrow; rooms are small; and common areas are all very tight. The rooms are made for sleeping and using the bathroom/shower areas only. There is not much space to spread your things out. The air conditioning was not available the first night but they were able to get it fixed and up and running by the second night of the stay. All in all, the staff was friendly and polite given the product they were selling; an older, well trodden, antique of a hotel, re-branded as a fresh Marriot destination.
As previous reviewers have complained, the sheets are scratchy and reserved room types are not honored. Elite members dont get any perks promised by the Marriott brand like free breakfast and a gift at check-in (like miles). Wifi was free, at least. Other than that, staff is professional and friendly. I come to Midtown regularly and the location is convenient for my business, but this experience is so disappointing that Im considering foregoing my regular Marriott stays and moving to a new hotel program.
The BEST hotel and location for a 30th birthday girlfriends getaway! The central park and city views are perfection. Rooms are beautiful mid century modern design. The staff are attentive and always available. Check out The Roof rooftop bar, gorgeous views. The hotel has all the amenities I could have asked for!
It was the worst experience ever. During two day stay, room was not cleaned. When the blackout happened in midtown, there was no generator. I had to climb 26 floors to get to my room. Air conditioner was not function well after the blackout. I forgot my iPad at hotel room and the hotel never return my call. I will never stay at le meridian any more. It was my first try with le meridian, as well as the last time.
The stay was totally unsatisfactory. When I have never read reviews or ratings within the Mariott hotels, I regret not doing so before booking his hotel for the stay. I infact think I should get my redeemed points credited back. The hotel staff was rude and most of them not aware of Mariottt practices. No breakfast or Lounge access provided. When asked, the front desk was rude to state that.Even though I requested for late check out, there was constant knocking on the door asking to check out. Rooms were clean but had a old worn out look. No wardrobe space in the room. Very disappointed and a lesson learnt to read the reviews on hotels and not just think Mariott can be booked eyes shut.
As expected in Manhattan, room and lobby small. Great midtown location- short walk to Central Park and MOMA. Room and hallways clean. Bathroom pretty with brass hardware. Amenities missing (complementary coffee machine) or broken (scale), but staff was polite and after several requests my needs were addressed. My room faced a brick wall- request a view in advance if that is important to you. Was noisy as it was right next to an elevator and walls were too thin.
Made the reservation a few weeks ago when it was the Viceroy, and arrived when it had become Le Méridien New York, Central Park. The room was comfortable, and service staff and concierge were helpful. The Roof is fantastic, and the bartenders are great (while most tables are reserved, theres still plenty of space to socialize and take pictures of Central Park and the nearby supertalls). Illy espresso makers are a great touch in the hotel rooms. Fitness center is adequate for a basic workout. Location is incredibly convenient to both Central Park and Midtown.
First of, Id like to say I too work in the hospitality industry myself and understand things do not always go as planned. I redeemed 35000 points to stay at your new Meridien property expecting it to be polished- however it was anything but.On booking I had selected to redeem for a Guest room, 1 King, Central Park view. Instead I received a room on the 11th floor in room 1109 over looking the alley. I believe my room faced East; Central Park is to the North of the hotel.Soon after checking in, the fuse blew and all the lights went out in the lobby and gym. When I first went to the washroom I had noticed one of the two flushing buttons was missing from the toilet. I tried contacting the front desk a number of times before I had to attend my meetings however, it was met with deaf ears. I presume they were busy dealing with other hotel guests. I also tried contacting concierge however, that resulted in the same way.The shower was clogged and was on the brink of over flowing after 15 minutes in the shower. The sink was clogged and would overflow. The next morning I call the Marriott phone number to voice my displeasure of the room as through out the night there was knocking/vibrations in my room even though I was as far away from the elevator as possible. This woke me up a number of times. The escalations team member on the phone put me on hold and called the front desk and told them what was going on. I asked her to check what room type I had on her end and she claimed I had a city view not Central Park View. I had mentioned to her I am confident I had booked a Central Park View as I was looking at the email confirmation. She mentioned to talk to the GM of the hotel. Soon after that phone call a member of the staff from the front desk called to profusely apologize. He was not the GM but had acknowledged by disappointing stay. I also asked him what room type I showed under in his system and he echoed the same thing as the escalations team member in saying I had a city view in his system. I pressed him for how many rooms actually had central park views. He noted only 5-7. He said a manager would contact me later that day. I never received a call. Would highly not receommend staying here as there are clearly issues with the redemption/booking system.
Le Meridien is my home away from home! My own escape within New York. The hotel is one of the only new hotel buildings along west 57th Street, so you have beautiful views from the thoughtfully decorated rooms. The hotel staff is truly wonderful and so thoughtful. They are extremely accommodating, friendly and very helpful in all regards. They are terrific with recommendations as well. The rooms are newly renovated but have a vintage New York feel to them— which I love. The bathrooms are beautifully designed and very luxurious. King sized bed is SO comfortable. I always have one of my best nights of sleeps at Le Meridien. I highly recommend for any traveler and for any New Yorker!
After staying in a few different hotels, the rooms all tend to look the same. Until you come here. These rooms are a little older but the different room layout, brass fixtures, warehouse style windows, and tiled showers with marble floors and black trim add a nice touch of warmth to your stay. The lobby feels rich and welcoming as soon as you enter and all the noise of New York City melts away.
Two big issues: Brand promise/Loyalty programme and Service/Attitude Firstly I am Marriott Bonvoy Ambassador Elite and Lifetime Platinum but didn’t receive my benefits at the hotel. breakfast not offered as „no restaurant“ but they offered me to purchase a breakfast package (?!?) . What about the 100 USD compensation when not offered? Out of luck! nobody responded to that.No upgrades, not even Suite Night awards accepted, no „thank you for your loyalty“ but rather „we are only a Le meridien for a month and were the viceroy before, that’s why your loyalty isn’t recognized here“ (actual quote)Which brings me to the terrible attitude and associated lack of service at the hotel. Issues were not responded to... no worse- somehow they managed to mock me in the app-chat. “Next time you are in the area reach out to me personally” - an Anonymous message (so who???). Pointing that out, i get a message 24 hours later “General Manager will reach out to you directly” - never happened! List goes onWhen we left and pointed out that in 3 days none of the issues voiced on day 1 were addressed, they just said “We hope to see you again” If you ever felt unappreciated and absolutely put in your place. This hotel was it.Hospitality - None! Everybody on the weekend seemed to hate working there and dealing with this nuisance called “guests”Only bright light- the two guys at reception when we checked out were the first who actually smiled and treated us like humans. They almost made me feel bad writing this. But unfortunately one encounter does not a great stay make. Especially not if it is the last 2 minutes.Maybe they just love seeing people leave
We booked 4 months in advance, saved up in order to get a good view of the park which was a dream of my wife’s. We had construction view. When we called to ask about this they told us the hotel was overbooked so we got what they could give us. But that is not what we paid extra for, so we asked to have our room changed and were told there was nothing available and we could stay or they could give us our payment back and we could find another place, But they would charge us if we used the landline to call to find a place. How were we expected to find another hotel within a few min on top of that we were traveling with our 2 year old. No sympathy from the staff, they gave us 20% of our payment back for the inconvenience but that still meant we paid extra for an average room on what should have been a dream anniversary.
Staff - Vijay and Chris super nice and helpfulElevator situation would need to change before ever staying againAlso this is a super spreader covid event waiting to happenZERO enforcement of masks No masks in lobby or elevator and staff looks other wayLiked but will not stay until elevator and covid over because of no focus on this
This hotel has no concierge floor or amenities of any kind for its elite members.on the second night into a seven night stay the AC in our room broke and had to be reset at midnight. It had to be reset three more times during our stay. when i asked about changing rooms i was told that would not be possibleevery time our room was cleaned the cleaning service could not replace the number of towels they took and i had to constantly call down for additional towelsthe bathroom sink was coming away from the wall and tilted downward so water leaked out of the sink when washing you face or brushing your teeth, hence the need for additional towels.I will never stay at this hotel again. I have never written an online review about a hotel until now.stay away
I stayed here for work. It’s a nice hotel, fairly modern. The room was ‘cozy’ which i expect for NYC but the closest was tiny. I had to ask for a rolling rack to hang my nice work/ event clothes for the week. There isn’t a good space to work so my co-workers and I posted up in the hotel restaurant 3 of the 4 nights we were there. I would say the restaurant staff was less than gracious. Even though we spent a minimum of $150 each time and tipped normally (20%) they weren’t happy we were taking up space and made that clear with slow service and some comments about wanting us to eat (sometimes it was just cocktails). Oh well!
While the vibe and rooms are certainly top notch, especially at this pricepoint and location in NYC, the pillows are lacking and the bed is intensely firm. Id forgotten these negatives from my previous stay and voted confidently to stay here again last night. Had I remembered, I might have given pause to this hotel in favor of another with more substantial pillows (these are essentially air, they flatten with the slightest pressure). My back and neck now hurt. Still, I might have called for a different pillow had I gotten to the room at a reasonable hour. Beyond this, the Illy espresso machine, brass fixtures, vintage wood accents, quality service, fast elevator, smartly designed lobby and and smartly efficient room layout (which does not feel crowded nor minimalist) make this a solid option, so long as you ask for a pillow menu at check in...if they have one?
Cant beat the location (57th between 6th and 7th) with close proximity to Broadway shows, Carnegie Hall, Central Park, and multiple subway lines. Hotel is snug and a bit dated in interior decor but very functional. The tabletop ironing board doesnt work, though you realize theres nowhere to put a fullsize. The restaurant is problematic - as if they cant quite find the right pace and rhythm for business travelers - its severely overpriced and the workflow is very awkward. Hotel staff were very friendly.
Rooms were tiny. Had to call the desk 4 times for a blowdryer..... first, it wasnt there. Then the one they delivered was broken. Then had to call 4 times to get another one, which came 10 minutes before we were to leave for a wedding.Had to call for another set of towels, it was a room for 3, but only had two sets of towels. Rooms were dimly lit. Bathroom had only a pedestal sink, so no place to put anything! Magnifying mirror was meant for a 6 foot guy. Could not utilize it.
Firstly, don’t be fooled. Le Parker Méridien used to be a great hotel. This hotel appears to be converted from housing of some kind. the Parker is next door and now owned by Hyatt. It’s average and acceptable by New York standards. The location is excellent for Carniege Hall, Central Park, etc. Can’t recommend the restaurant. Although the staff was nice it’s just massively overpriced for average food.
The hotel has a new name but that is about all. The room furnishings are tired and the quality control is nonexistent. I was checked into a room that had multiple issues then moved to another room, again with issues. The staff has too much attitude and not enough follow through. Hopefully things will improve with the new brand.
This property has decided that even though Marriotts terms require it to offer breakfast to Platinum and higher members, it simply wont do that. Apparently Marriott has decided that it isnt going to force the property to comply. Combined with a hard product thats middling at best, I just cant recommend this hotel as is and suggest staying away until it cleans up its act.
I think they are still working out the kinks? Service was extremely slow at the front desk. Rooms felt like they were trying hard to be chic, but felt too trendy and not truly classy. Weirdly configured rooms, low bed, strange lights. But this location near the park is pretty great.
The location is fantastic; Central Park and Rockefeller Square easy walking, and the price was reasonable but maintenance and housekeeping need more supervision or money for repairs. Cosmetic repairs such as repainting old wooden cabinets White and adding a fresh white paint to the walls with maybe another small accent . A bright color or pastel would certainly make the room appear bigger. But maintenance to the showers and bathrooms need attention.
This hotel is tired and worn. All the glam of Roman and Williams the original designers has been removed from the lobby and replaced with cheap furniture that has nothing to do with the original design or character of the hotel. The over head light in the room was from a CIA interrogation room. All the wood surface is scratched and dented. The hall ways even sadder. An inch away from a mental hospital. It took 1 1/2 hours to get our car from the valet. Its for Hip tourist.
Had sone issues with heating but were repaired the second tine, the lighting was problematic, the robe was provided only the first night, complimentary water was not refilled - just one bottle for days, for some reason a nightly 5:45am withdrawl from card was taken for security deposit but no one knows why - we’ll see if it’s credited back next week. Just disappointed overall. The staff was friendly but it’s not enough
We stayed here for the US Open and had a wonderful overall extended weekend. Saw Federer play & win which would have been enough for me. Great location for catching the N & 7 subway trains to Flushing Meadows. Really cool restaurant for breakfast each morning and the rooftop bar has a nice cityscape view with a excellent bartender. We will be back next year!
We had a terrible experience at this property. This was a trip to NYC to get married and celebrate this event. The staff does not care. The room was not clean. The rooms and amenities are poorly maintained. It is a pity that such a great location provides a poor experience overall.
An ok hotel. Descriptions of park view (for 22nd floor) were a little off the mark.Service for 3 people staying in a room has been negligent (only providing towels and water for two, not 3 people). Took 5 days to get a response from customer services. All in all i would not come back.
Booked a room for valentines day with a view of central park. They gave my room to someone else and stuck me in a regular room while still charging me a premium price. Also got there on time and still had to wait 35 mins because the room wasnt ready. Over all would not stay there again.
We stayed at Le Meridien to experience the Macy’s thanksgiving parade - great location - brought chairs down to corner of West 57th and 6thAvenue a short walk from hotel. Convenient to Central Park and a bit longer walk to Rockefeller Center and Radio City Music for Rockettes Christmas show. Could see 6th Avenue from room if you pressed your face against the window in our Central Park view room. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to see the parade but you do need to sit outside along the parade route to get a better view. Fun time!
I booked a central park view via the app, and when i checked in was given a city view. Apparently a known issue with their booking system. Staff did not follow through on promises made (e.g., returning points), and i was left on hold, on and off, for an hour. Late checkout, although granted, did not seem to be communicated to staff and my door was opened by someone claiming to be from the front desk 3x times, each time asking me when i was planning on checking out. Altogether, absurd. If you are undergoing a transition period (as i was told by one of the 5+ people that i had to restate my case to when i called reception), that is not a guest problem.
I spend a lot of time in hotels every year, so have become quite particular about where I choose to lay my head. The location and overall feel of Le Meridien is top notch. However, what really sets it apart from all of the other options is the people. I could not be more impressed by the level of service and commitment to making me feel as at home as possible.
Very poor experience. We were given a room that we could hear all that was happening in the other room, the front desk didnt want to give us a new room, despite the hotel being more than half empty, after insisting we got another room which the TV didnt work. We were so tired that we have up. Will not stay there again.
The hotel just moved next door. From the photos online I thought it was a “new” hotel but they just moved into another hotel and haven’t done any major renos. The hotel itself is OK, sadly, the huge suite I got, was a bit dated. Totally functional but not what I expected.
Rarely do we stay at chain hotels and this is exactly why we don’t. Poor, anonymous service - no recognition of status past or present (couldn’t care less about Bonvoy). Misleading room assignment, obscure references to views that weren’t true as we delayed checking in just for that reason - 3 hours later no apology at checking. Bellman seemed distracted or demoralized - didn’t even bother to stick around for a tip after dropping our bags. Room? Mediocre. Honestly...why bother...

2022-05-27In a climate where the service industry is so short staffed, I couldn’t have been more impressed with the staff at this hotel. Every touchpoint was exceptional - the manager when I requested a double room, the housekeeping staff who always had a smile on her face and made the room perfect everyday, the front doorman who remembered me and asked me how my day was, even the bartender who made me the best martini I ever had - every single person was happy and helpful. I’m deeply impressed. Thank you!The rooms are spacious and luxurious. Bed was super comfortable. Location was ideal. This was seriously a 5 star experience.

2022-06-05Great staff, very helpful! The room was tiny (than envision a space slightly smaller than two side-by-side prison cells) with a platform bed that had VERY sharp edges on which seemed to enjoy slicing my Achilles whenever I got close. Upon entering the room for the first time, I found a long hair laying across the lid of the bathroom trashcan which had some paper trash inside (just 1 or 2 pieces of what appeared to be wrappers; much better than used tissues....). The bathroom and bedroom walls had multiple scuff / dark marks. Sadly, I got distinct Sid and Nancy vibes every time I walked into the room. After checking the hours of the two on-site restaurants / bars, we went for a late dinner (and, yes, Im ashamed to say that we were going to be THOSE jerks) about 15-20 minutes before the kitchen closed only to be told that they were no longer serving food, only cocktails. We are also told that the rooftop bar, which is open at least an hour later than the lobby restaurant, had also stopped serving their limited bar food menu. Bummer, but the bar staff in the restaurant were top-notch.The gym is small-ish but surprisingly well-equipped and, while several other guests were there each time I was, never felt crowded. The staff really saves Le Méridien from a much lower rating. We made two special requests - late checkout and to check our luggage for a few hours after we had checked out - and both were met with smiles and happy accommodation. Staff was very helpful, friendly and professional.

2022-05-14Worst hotel in New York - the price they charge is for a 5 star hotel but no service comes with it. Horrible experience, I left after one night and had not slept, not eaten and no tv was available as their system was down.We settled on 1 night payment, after a few days they charged my card when not authorized for some extra costs.I called several times to be reimbursed, I had confirmation by phone but no payment ever returned.Go to Thompson, cheaper, part of Hyatt, fabulous rooms and top service, and it’s just on the street behind.

2022-04-17We took a red eye flight and were worried about having a place to put stuff/nap so early in the morning. They had our room ready and let us check in 8 hours early (730am) at no extra charge! The rooftop bar had good drinks, nice staff. And most of all, so conveniently located! We were able to do most our activities were within a 1 mile walking distance: Central Park, museums, 5th Ave shopping, broadway musicals, etc.Loved it!

2021-12-09From the moment we arrived to the moment we checked out 3 days later we received amazing service overall. Greeted by the bellman to excellent customer service by the front desk. We were told about all the amenities available during our stay. We also visited the rooftop bar which has amazing drinks and views of Central Park and Manhattan. Breakfast in the rooftop was also very good and plenty of options for all. Thanks for the great service Le Meridien Central Park. Will definitely return to visit soon.

2022-04-29Le Meridian is far from a luxury hotel. When I arrived, the entire front lobby was under construction due to some malfunction with its wall of television screens. I unpacked my bag, pulled back the bed covers to discover dozens and dozens of dark curly HAIRS all over the bed. Management agreed to move me to a different room but offered no other apologies or amenities to change my initial bad impression. However the staff is very kind and professional, generally, and my new room appeared clean. All in all, not a completely insufferable place to stay if you keep your expectations low.

2022-01-21Nice hotel, bed is comfy pillows are very soft. The AC in the rooms is a little noisy. Hotel staff are very friendly. The doors men know the area and are very courteous.

2022-05-20We have just returned after a 4 night stay at this hotel. My son graduated ffrom Columbia Law. We will not return to Le Meridien. The TVs were not connected when we arrived. Service was needed twice on them during our stay. The coffee machine Never worked. The rooftop lounge area was not available. We were unable to view the city view we paid extra for. The windows appeared to be frosted, but were instead filthy! One morning the cleaning crew arrived before 9:00, we had our privacy sign on our door. A note, slipped under the door, informed us that we had missed our cleaning service due to the fact that we were in there. I went to the front desk to try to get an understanding of the cleaning schedule and was told, I could tell you something, but I would be making it up. What?!Absolutely no help from front desk!

2022-01-27Really good customer service and front desk staff. The room and the amenities in the room are very good. It is also a bigger room than ones I been to in NYC. Only thing would be the hot breakfast options for vegans and vegetarians are limited, and I hope that there are more options in the future.

2022-02-14Very disappointing. I tend to like Meridien hotels but this was the worst Ive stayed in.The room was very dark and pokey, not like the photos on the website at all! I actually found it very depressing. There was no room service and the restaurants (2 of them) were both closed.A positive was the location.
