Le Pain Quotidien in other cities:
Greatest place on earth. I finally found something Id never get anywhere else: soft-boiled eggs in their shells, with fresh-made bread worthy of France & soft butter. The hearty wheat bread arrives cut up like British soldiers to dip into the soft runny yolks. Plus, unbelievably rich, pure matcha latte the color of grass. Our server took charge like a boss & made an exception to a time-limited item on the menu when we asked, a perfectly cooked soft-boiled egg & lofty handmade bread. Fyi, theres a restroom & time for plenty of people-watching.
All the LPQ locations have a warm, friendly charm, but this location in particular is really nice. The minute you walk in, you feel very comfortable. The unpainted wood furniture feels like something from a Vermont cafe. The carefully placed lighting is bright enough to see clearly, but not overpowering or antiseptic. The staff are friendly and efficient. Best of all, the fresh baked bread and pastries are delicious. The menu is a bit limited, but it is all good.
The space is beautiful - rustic, spacious, and well lit. The food is organic and you can tell the dishes are made with love. I enjoyed the hearty vegan chili and the French rice milk dessert. Also, my iced coffee was perfectly brewed. The staff is super friendly, the bathrooms large and well-stocked with paper supplies.
Opens early for a great breakfast. Avocado toast and poached egg or granola parfait are my favourites. Toasted artisan rye bread is a great side and the fresh orange juice is delicious. Lots of other great things on offer and nice pastries to take away. Free WiFi. Good service from friendly staff.
I have been coming this location since it opened.I often frequent for breakfast and I have to say the food is always on point and the servers and baristas are always very pleasant.I always look forward to the latest and greatest additions to the Menu, like their recent coffee that is single sourced.Thank you for your commitment to healthy and real food.
When my brother is recording his music 🎶 at his Bleecker Street Studio in New York City, our go to place is Le Pain Quotidien. It’s a fabulous place to have a few cups of delicious 😋 coffee or tea while relaxing in a soft mellow atmosphere. Absolutely amazing interior design that’s cool 😎 for more than 200 worldwide locations. Enjoy the restaurant’s historic landmark setting with its stunning architecture and large light filled windows as it’s one of the best in town. It’s not only mellow and relaxing, it’s a fabulous place to enjoy 😉 a wonderful breakfast and lunch in the city. We love their homemade Tartines with yummy Belgian chocolate mousse cake served with raspberry jam for dessert 🍨. It’s great to have a restaurant with superior WiFi serving delicious food and🍷wine. Le Pain Quotidien Bleecker Street is a favorite hangout for the cool 😎 people. We’ll be back for more delicious treats in this exciting hip downtown Bleecker Street Bakery & Restaurant.
The manager, Omar was so helpful and gave us a smile as soon as we entered! The atmosphere was great and calm, I felt like I flew to France! The generous portion and quality of the food was great for the price! I will be back at this location the next time I am in New York!!
A good friend of mine recommended this place -- Her street cred has gone up! The cafe itself is nicely designed and put together, which exudes an easy and comfortable vibe.I ordered a cup of soy latte and a cheese almond Danish. The coffee was fragrant, but the Danish was just pure deliciousness. This introductory experience made me want to revisit Le Pain Quotidien whenever I wanted to take a break from walking around the city. And with a large network of outlets spread across Manhattan, it was not a difficult task.I highly recommend La Pain Quotidien for both its food and drinks and also its ambience. If you are not convinced yet, they also provide free wifi. Sold.
The atmosphere here is beautiful, and the food was wholesome and good. It is somewhat on the expensive side for a bakery/cafe, but considering everything is handmade, organic, and unique, it is hardly surprising. Be sure to check out the cookbook at your table. I enjoyed my time here immensely.
I just went to this beautiful Pain Quotidien at Bleecker street, i go there often. They have there own bakery and you can see them making the breads for you! Its just lovely. I Also met the new assistent manager, Helene fromBelgium, a while ago and she told me today that the Le Pain Quotidien is going to open a new beautiful store at 205 Bleecker street! She is so friendly and always in a good mood. I will certainly go and see her over there in the month of February. They are going to offer a new seasonal menu next Wednesday. Im looking forward too it!
I swear I thought it was a Belgian restaurant but nevertheless it always feels like I am paying in Euros for European food sizes for something that actually tastes pretty American. They have a pretty large room at the entrance with a big kitchen mixer- perhaps it would be worth the price if we were allowed to play with it- even the classroom (yeah, thats one god part) students are not allowed but I am just saying that it would be worth it.
If you want over priced food with lack of quality and service come to Le Pain Quotidien - Bleeker Street. Just left that horrid place and not to mention the restrooms are freezing cold, dirty and do not even have running hot water. Unbelievable.. for what they are charging i expected so much more, very disappointing for such a beautiful location..
So far me experience in this and other Le Pain Quotidien is similar.Te value at this place was terrible. The food is costly and the plate size is small. Coffee- at $4 per cup for generic black coffee is incredibly high, no free refills for $4. What amazed me the most is that the coffee was room temperature. It is very strong so we asked for hot water on the side which we were given at no extra charge.Croissant - I wanted to order some kind of egg sandwich...but they dont have that for breakfast! I could order an omelet for $12 and then pay for additional bread, but the bread is not toasted. The waitress said that since their bread is made every day...they dont toast it. Uhm...does that make sense? I ordered a $4 croissant which was good, but certainly not worth $4!Baguette- I wanted to give it 100% chance of success, so I noticed that the baguette was todays special...although I was there for breakfast, I figured this Belgium based restaurant would do an excellent job. I first thought of getting the ham and cheese baguette, but the waiter suggested I get the parmesan version. So I agreed. About 5 minutes later, she serves me a sandwich which for $8 has been the most incredibly waste of money. It was a short piece of baguette with a slide of cold ham and cold cheese, amazingly even the bread was refrigerator cold. I figure it took 10 seconds to put this masterpiece together. No sauce, no olive oil, no salt or pepper, just literary 3 ingredients slapped together. It tasted just as it sounds. It turns out, she brought me the wrong sandwich! Then she corrected it and brought me the recommended parmesan version...I figured, this one will be much better. Amazingly it was 99.99% the same thing! Terrible.Other than generally terrible food and extremely overprice, the decor is nice to look at, the waiter was attentive. She could only bring the food this establishment makes.People thought your review was: Useful 1
Here we go folks....ACES!!!! In addition to amazing artesian breads and incredible desserts it is impeccably staffed and immaculate . For NYC the prices are extremely reasonable. But we were not here to simply taste the fare,,,,,we were here to learn the trade. They offer a Bread baking class and no punches are held. This is an excellent opportunity to hone ones skills or pick up an entirely new skill set. The instructor Jack Lawhon is a Baking genius. He takes the time to go thru the steps ,and has so much hands on practice my wife and I are now completely comfortable both handling the dough and baking . In total the class in approx 3 hours long the entire time working in the kitchen. We now understand the {Pate Fermentee} , have baked {Baguettes } and made an amazing {Pain Aux Noix}. All of that to say the class was worth every penny !!!! Im looking forward to Another class in the future. This is a place not to be missed.
Love the concept of a french landhouse style bakery, having a bread basket, homemade jam, honey, choclate cream or a cheese and ham plate etc. The style is like old france with at least one family table hosting at least 20 people at once. This location offers baking classes in a glass seperated section, so both sides enjoy the view. Lovely, give it a try (and yes, it was founded in Brussel 20 years ago, I know)
I did not know Le Pain Quotidien. If ever you want to take baking classes (pies and other), you must take the time to do so at Le Pain Quotidien. Also good coffee an viennoiseries. But also, good events throughout the years. Sadly I can not attend since Im not from New York.
Maybe we were unlucky, a wordless waitress, a small selection, interesting sounding dishes, led to misunderstandings and dissatisfaction. It is no fun if complaints lead to a mediocre result. Maybe just bad luck. But maybe also due to the touristic expression in Soho. I was disappointed for the first time in years.

2022-05-21The least nice PQ I’ve seen anywhere. Interior is closer to a fast food place than a PQ. We wanted to order one of the bowls and they were missing an ingredient or another from everything. Overall the foods weren’t fresh.

2022-09-11Freezing AC. Manager 5 stars. Wait staff clueless. Cappuccino scalding. Frittata not hot nearly warm. They replaced. Found hair in food at end of meal. Not mine. Waitress said Oh really. Train your staff to know their products and focus on customer service. Mist likely will not return. Too cold.

2018-08-19We just had an absolutely amazing artesanal pizza making class. The lesson was very well organized. Our teacher was professional, fun, she told us many interesting details about dough, baking, and of course pizza. Each pizza came out really yummy. In the end of the class we all got a small kit with a dough we prepared and a cup of tomato sauce to try and make pizza at home.

2022-05-14Just walked out of this location. Standing inline for 10 minutes behind a woman with an issue. The man standing behind the counter and the manger don’t even acknowledge me, and then another customer walks in and they immediately assist him, completely ignoring me. Not sure if this is how you always treat clients but this solidified my distaste for Le Pain officially

2022-04-07Since the murder of Marquet Patisserie and the 11th & University Place Dean & DeLuca in the East Village, Le Pain Quotidien is now THE cafe to go to. Always. Service is impeccable, all food and beverages taste divine, the variety and number of choices on the menu is huge, much of what’s offered is authentic French cuisine, the interior and seating are beautiful and comfortable, plus I can stay as long as I wish.
